WK Elemental AU

(because I don't have enough AUs already...) Let me introduce you to something thats been rolling around in my brain for a little while now... The Elemental AU!

Heavily inspired by Avatar the Last Airbender, the elemental AU takes place in a universe where some people are born with the ability to control a specific element. The main difference is instead of the 4 western elements of Earth, Fire, Water, and Air- it's the 5 Chinese elements of Earth, Fire, Water, Wood, and Metal. (Just bc it fit the crew better! and gives me some more room to world-build)

The basic plot remains close to Wild Kratts canon. They travel the world, saving animals from the villains (Who are also elementals!) except instead of relying on technology, or their creature powers, they use their elemental gifts.

I am planning on writing about this soon since Decoded is coming to an end in only a few weeks. But I figured I would go ahead and introduce it now since I've finished all of their refs!

Apocalypse AU: Portal to the past opens and out step the Future Duo in all their Traumatized Glory. Future!Chris hasn't seen Martin in... oh... three years? And Future!Zach is guilt personified considering it's all his fault the apocalyptic events happened in the first place.

They're from about 8 to 10 years in the future.

I finally got the chance to start reading Reprogrammed by @littlecrittereli and i've been liking it a lot so far! I wanted to practice "semi realism" rather than cel shading this time.

I’ve been thinking about an accidental fusion between Zach and Chris that leaves them both spiraling.

They’re one person now, but it’s two minds piloting one body. Memories intertwine and overlap, dreams and ambitions become stalled from constant conflict of interest, etc. Not to mention, everyone around them wants them separated once again, which of course, is something they want as well, but it becomes all muddled and confusing on who’s who anymore, and with everyone wanting to pull them apart, it just makes them more confused and hurt. Because one group (Heroes or Villains) will bad mouth the other part as if they’re not even present, leaving the fusion with complicated feelings of hurt and betrayal, mixed with bits of almost self loathing because yeah, they hate parts of themself too, the other part is their enemy, but again!! One person!!

It’s a complicated mess!!

Everyone is going through it 💪 But how crazy is it to mourn a person while they’re still technically here, but they’re completely changed to the point where they feel like a different person now. You’ll have moments of clarity every once in a while, but it goes just as quick as it comes. This is not the person you knew.

WARNING: Injury, Drama and Implied Death

(it's a time travel apocalypse au, it's gonna have The Big Sads before it gets better.)

Apocalypse AU doodles.

From Future!Chris and Future!Zach's perspectives, the Apocalypse started about 8 to 10 years ago (hard to keep track after the tech failed) and Aviva was lost at about year 6 when the defenses broke and the lab was overrun with mutated beasts. After that, things got very complicated because half the tech was damaged and they only managed to salvage some of the components for the time machine Aviva designed. Martin was lost (with Koki) a little prior to the completion of the time machine, overrun while trying to protect Chris while salvaging for parts. The younger Kratt fully feels responsible for his death and Zach wouldn't let him see his brother being mauled. Zach lost his arm about two months later, making things very difficult. Jimmy created a prosthetic arm for him but it doesn't function it's really only decorative. Jimmy Jimmy died a year before the time machine was finished.
