Wizardess Heart: Thoughts about Lucious' love interest Vol. 2

Lucious' only love is Claudia in every route except for one route, and obviously, that's his own route.

Yeah, it's his route and the MC is Liz so that's predictable, but he just seems to be liking Liz as a girl, or at least interested in her very much from the moment his route starts...? He strangely cares a lot about Liz and blushes a lot in front of her. ...Why? Because of the dream?

I just think Lucious should be with Claudia. I can't imagine someone else with him. They're literally the canon couple. I mean there're tons of dead lover tropes in romance stories but still this route made me think this "centuries of love" is kinda... crashed? Plus Lucious didn't have that much of a relationship growth with Liz enough to push away(?) that love. Liz and Lucious were cute together, yes, but that much won't rewrite the new love. They're more like best friends. He just lets go of his precious Claudia kinda too easily... and that is weird. If Solmare really wanted Liz to be with Lucious, they should have made her Claudia's reincarnation or something.

And the dancing scene... that's beautiful but considering the situation,, is it really romantic?

I honestly think Solmare should have added some spin off stories of Lucious and Claudia like they did for Harold and Tatiana in Blood in Roses.

Btw about what I said in the earlier post, Zeus could be a rare exception in here cuz no one else in Wizardess Heart had that level of chemistry with Lucious.

Well nonetheless, I should admit the CGs here were absolutely gorgeous. Ngl his route had the best CGs.

Lucious Route Chapter 4 (6-10)

Last time on the Lucious route, Liz and Lucious rolled a collective 6 on their stealth check, but Hugo rolled a natural 1 so he didn’t notice them following him, Hugo does a lot of expository monologues for literally no one other than the audience, Remy shows up in the form of Taffy, and I finally snap due to the insanity of Lucious’s outfit. Not necessarily in that order.

So Lucious calls Liz “too nice” and tells her to go back to Alfonse and Caesar because what is a Wizardess Heart route without a man patronizing Liz. Liz refuses because fuck you Lucious.

My points still stands.

So then Hugo finally notices these really unstealthy people. He calls Liz the Goddess of Time and states that his job is to protect her and free Lucious, but not today. He warns them against getting in his way if they want to get what they want. Or maybe that was only directed at Lucious, the wording wasn’t super clear.

Lucious briefly morphs into Peter Griffin, and the disembodied voice of Hugo informs them that their free trial of the pocket of time they’re in is about to expire.

So Liz and Lucious escape the collapsing time dimension and Liz recounts what she knows about Hugo, which is essentially just his cameos in the other routes, and can’t pin down his motivations, which I guess means she hasn’t been listening to his monologues because he literally already spelled out his motivations last week.

Lucious tells Liz he’s looking forward to being free and asks her to be his guide to the new world, and

I cannot believe the dichotomy of these two options. I literally can’t believe this is a choice. Just fuckin “find someone else.” What even happens if you say that???

This is what happens if you pick the right option, but if you pick the “find someone else” option Liz herself points out that she may not be the best option in an objective way, not a self-deprecating way, so ironically “find someone else” is the LESS caustic option.

And then Liz is somewhat turned on by Lucious just fucking shouting about Hugo at the air. Liz realizes they’re still Holding Hands but then serendipitously sees Claudia’s portrait in the background.

I think a ship that suits this song is Prince Claudia x Violette of "I swear I won’t bother you again": Violette loved him, but he chose her stepsister. Then she became a villainess, was condemned, died, returned to the past and finally realized that she was wrong about her feelings and didn't care about the prince anymore.

Shall we Date? Wizardess Heart Part 25 - Lucious Duller Route

Lucious is such a tsundere even in the heroine’s dream haha, he’s a cute one though. I wonder why she keeps having these dreams? They’re cute though haha~ Aww, Zeus has been bringing food to Lucious recently because the labyrinth has been acting up! I love their brotherly love haha. Nice of the heroine to teasingly offer to make him food now that Zeus has to go back home for the weekend~ I wanna eat her food too! Hmm and now they can’t get out of the labyrinth because of this invisible wall that keeps randomly appearing in different places every day… Lmao at the heroine going to the wrong bath and seeing the guys bathing together, guess she’s the pervert in this scenario haha.

Hmmm so Lucious will be able to leave the labyrinth soon for some reason~ Lol at the heroine taking a trip just to discover what happened to Claudia in the last days of her life. To be fair, I’m interested too. I think it was really sweet and touching to read Claudia’s maid’s diary, a lot of dedication for the maid to write a diary for 60 years, but also amazing that even in her old age, Claudia never gave up on trying to get Lucious out of the labyrinth. I guess the happy thing about this whole story is that they both really loved each other “forever” in terms of their living life. They never wavered in their feelings and always believed in their love for the other, it’s really touching tbh. I’m happy that Claudia’s lingering spirit possessed the heroine and was able to share one last dance with Lucious and see him surrounded by so many nice people. I think it was also really sweet that Lucious acknowledged both the heroine and Claudia when they danced, and said they were both important to him. Lucious may seem like a child, but he’s really mature imo. It was so random when Randy appeared in the labyrinth (very conveniently) and then gave them a skull that allows them to project a hologram so Lucious can actually see the outside world now! I guess it’s nice to see everyone work together and make those magic boards to go to the castle in the sky, but yeah it was expected that when the heroine’s life was in danger, Lucious would be able to somehow come out of the labyrinth to save her. I’m not sure how I feel about how fast and easily his love for Claudia had ended, but I guess it’s understandable to move on.

It’s nice to see that just as Zeus really cherished his relationship with Lucious in his route, Lucious also really cherishes his relationship with Zeus here. Seeing him reminisce so fondly about their first meeting, and talk about how Zeus visited him every day and even gave him a night class uniform because he considered him a friend now was so cute. I think it’s great that someone like Zeus found Lucious, you really need someone tenacious like him that won’t back off even if Lucious is acting cold to protect himself. Although it’s nice to see how even though Lucious is the one with “no powers”, he always protects the heroine and does what he can. Although I have to say, sometimes the heroine needs to stop swooning and actually do something instead lol. Otherwise, I’m not too into the “plot” of this one tbh, it’s so long and draggy. Although I was surprised that the strange Taffy was actually Rembrandt! Apparently he’s trying to revive all the dragonkin and that’s expected but yeah~ and they stop Hugo from deciding their future with the power of friends and the heroine’s supposed time rewinding abilities! Yeah, I feel like a lot of things “happened” in this route but I just felt so emotionally detached from it because it was so…boring? Lucious and the heroine always act in the same way/formula with Lucious saying he’ll protect her and the heroine blushes, and then she every now and then uses her randomly gifted time rewinding abilities when needed, I just felt like the story was very hard to follow because of how clunky and boring it was plot wise. I really don’t think they put much effort in giving proper time to the heroine and Lucious aside from the usual cliche stuff.

However, I did find it really funny when Schuyler gave Lucious an acceptance letter to the academy and it was a provisional one, just like the heroine’s when she first came hahaha. But, I found it so sweet when Lucious rejected the uniform because he wanted to wear the one Zeus and Hiro gave him when they first became friends and wanted Lucious to be a part of their group☺️☺️ Although I’m not a fan is this story, I really enjoyed their confession, they were so cute!! But yeah, I feel like at times, it was hard to get into how much they liked each other when in the beginning, it already kinda presented Lucious liking the heroine when it was never like that in other routes, and you could tell how much he loved Claudia and wouldn’t be able to forget her. I think it would have been nicer if it showed more of Lucious accepting Claudia as his previous love, like taking the painting with him when he left the labyrinth since I think it was such a precious memory, it felt kinda weird for him to leave it even if he wanted to “move on”. Moving on doesn’t mean leaving everything behind but acknowledging it, reminiscing it and accepting that it is the past. I just feel like a lot of things in this route made it seem more like they just wanted to get rid of the Claudia thing in the beginning of the route so that Lucious could get together with the heroine. There was no dilemma over this love when I feel like there should have been and I guess I didn’t like that. Oh and I really don’t like how they try to interconnect the seasons of guys by introducing plot points and other things mid to late story, only to leave them unresolved because it’s answered in the next season, like I can understand why it’s done but it just really makes the route feel so incomplete. Oh well, at least the CGs this time around were really beautiful!

Wizardess Heart: Personal thoughts about seasons and routes Part 2

(This post contains a bit of spoilers.)

Starting from S6 basically 90% of the routes are in consecutive order, but the new romance starts every route. So basically, all the other data is maintained and only the romance data is reset every route.

It's pretty sad that the MC and LI swear eternal love in some route, and then the moment you start the next route, they remember everything except for their love.

The stories focus on the "plot" more compared to earlier seasons and that's why the romance kinda lacks compared to those seasons.

S6 is the best season in prefect mc routes. Good chemistry overall, well balanced romance, and interesting plot.

Zeus? Cute relationship with good chemistry. Interesting story. Well written. (Let's forget about his betrayal for now)

Klaus2 is ummm actually this route is the least memorable route in S6... and his arrogance never goes anywhere but at least he was less bossier than S2

Hiro... his route is the best imo. Not only the story included interesting dynamics, but I honestly think mc and Hiro made the most well-balanced, healthy romance with nice chemistry. Smooth development from comrades to couple and they really care for each other a lot. And sweet as ever.

Imo S7 is kinda more like good friends route

I like Alfonse as a character but don't really like his route... mostly because Klaus just gets in the way all the time with that (spoiler)stupid fake dating thing

Caesar the piggy boy... idk if mc really did love him even in his own route. He likes her from the very beginning, ok that's nice, but after finishing the route it was like... his confession just made her more generous to him? His love for mc just worked as some kind of excuse for what happens afterwards about him. The most memorable character was Mischa and the most memorable scene was the eating battle.

Lucious is who I mentioned a lot in previous posts, I would just say he should have been with Claudia.

I think no one in s7 had real romance with mc, but still Alfonse and Lucious were very good friends in their routes whereas Caesar was... relationship itself went nowhere

Starting from S8 either MC or LI is already smitten to their partner from the very beginning... otherwise it's just a very rushed shallow romance

Hugo is enemy to lover, better version of Leon but it just seems he has zero chemistry with mc.

Hisoka idk why mc brought a random merchant guy to the academy and seemed she was just smitten with this guy from the start somehow? And she followed him around like a puppy.

Willem another enemy to lover. But it just seemed they added a drama of (spoiler)"they actually met in the past"+ "miracle tears to save the guy" nothing more memorable than that.

I think the "plot" they focused on started to lose track from about S9? I mean I still dunno why that season exists... the phantom thief appeared out of nowhere and tower of memories stuff has nothing to do with dragonkins or future plot. Kinda useless season.

In Nox and Rex routes, the devs did it really dirty. At least in the other routes, mc starts with no interest in the other guy and no other guy is romantically interested in her(I mean after s6) but these two routes create a very... annoying love triangle. Plus in Rex route, this girl switches to another guy just because (spoiler)she's disappointed with Nox's identity

I don't think either Nox or Rex made a proper healthy relationship with mc. Both were just smitten with her at first sight and kinda forcing their feelings for her?

Gray is kinda creepy considering he basically knew everything about her from the start. Like he was stalking her for her whole life...

S10 and S11 at least make sense but still romance is mostly nowhere

What I don't like about s10 and s11 is that there're some fake routes kinda made for... surprise for canon routes

Since s6 there were a lot of routes that indicated there was still something left unsolved(which will be in another route), but at least the issue on that route was solved properly. But in those fake routes nothing was solved properly, and makes me um... feel what everything happened there just went to waste? Idk

Those routes end like "I thought so but..." that sounds so damn ominous and incomplete (Yes you Lars, and you Florin too)

And then there's a guy who's got real hot looks but got nothing in his route (Looking at you Mr Auburne)

At least the canon routes, which are the last routes of each season, are written fine I think.

Clive. Maybe a controversial one, but mc shares rather dark side of herself in front of him unlike when she's with the other guys and I think that's a uncommon yet nice way to build relationship. Nidhogg was very cute too.

Light. Him and mc sharing a lot of time in the same place made a natural growth of their bond. I liked it.

Last of all, it's a shame that Felix and Vain and Viggo never got their routes... I mean look at their beautiful faces how could those faces never got a chance to stand as a proper LI daaaaang
