CONTENT: Discussion of Periods, Discussion of Feminine Hygeine Products, Romantic Relationships w/ Aforementioned Characters

A/N: I've been on a Criminal Minds binge recently (when am I not), and I really wanted to write this. I only included the aforementioned characters because I'm only on season three. So, unfortunately, there is no Luke Alvarez since I have yet to learn his character! I hope you enjoy!

- Dr. Spencer Reid

This poor bastard, as genius as he is, would have such little clue on how to handle your period (at least when it comes to being a partner).

That’s not to say he doesn’t try, nor is he clueless.

He’s definitely worked with his colleagues when they are on their periods and has probably been good at support, but in the relationship department, he’s a little…inexperienced. 

Spencer is incredibly observant (it comes with the territory of both the job and being a partner), so needless to say, he knows what brands of period products you use.

If this man isn’t the type to dote on you while you’re on your period, I am calling the Bureau myself and filing a report.

All that is to say, Spencer is still spitting period facts at you while you lie together.

Now, back to the doting. 

I want to think that the kind Dr. Reid is a cuddle monster who is absolutely giving you a shoulder or back massage if you’re sore.

He will also absolutely read to you while you’re on your period to help you distract yourself from any cramps or anything else that may bother you.

Out of the three men I present here, Mr. Hotchner knows how to handle a woman on her period like it’s a science.

Incredibly sweet and patient, and doesn’t have to be asked for anything.

Do you want something you’ve been craving? He’s on it. He knew twenty minutes before you started craving it. Have mood swings? Aaron can take all the punches. Need space? He can take Jack out to the movies. 

If he’s home, he’ll lie in bed with you and Jack and watch as many Disney movies as you want. 

If he’s out on the job, he’ll call you so you can listen to him talk about his day (and he totally will send flowers to the house to brighten up your day).

An absolute gentleman at all times when it’s your monthly; he’s never grossed out, and he’s never not what you need him to be.

Let’s say you accidentally get blood on your favorite pair of panties. Aaron will be the first to take them and clean them by hand without question.

He’s seen a lot of gross shit, so your period blood is nothing.

He may not know your preferred brands or preferred size, but he’ll absolutely buy four boxes of tampons and pads and then ask which ones you like

Okay, more realistically, he’d call you at the store, but he’s unafraid to buy them for you.

He will also bring your favorite snacks without having to be asked.

Chocolate? Done. Candy? Already accounted for. Water or a sugary drink? Derek Morgan on the job. 

Derek has absolutely seen his sisters experience PMS, so your PMS is nothing. Absolutely has patience and is willing to talk it out with you.

Super considerate if you don't want to go out! Want to instead have a movie marathon? Sounds good to him. Want to order instead of go to a restaurant? Sounds solid.

If you're clingy on your period, Derek adores this. He is absolutely okay being smothered by you. Comes with the territory of being a partner.

aaron hotchner: father, single dad, can be strict but will always listen to and be there for his kids, doesn't smile very often but has the BEST, most contagious laugh

david rossi: cool, fun uncle, gave the kids their first sip of alcohol (only when they're 21 though), the more 'chill adult', a playboy, but finally married their aunt krystall who is their favorite

derek morgan-hotchner: oldest child & son, very protective of his siblings, a little bit of a playboy but does settle down, smart without trying

emily prentiss-hotchner: nicknames are em and ems, second oldest, oldest daughter, very smart (smarter than her little brother spencer sometimes) and the most emotionally intelligent of the siblings though this surprises most people because she's very rebellious and very private - opens up to people but with time

jennifer jareau-hotchner : nicknames are JJ and jaje, middle child, quiet and responsible, very popular athlete, surprisingly kind of a badass when her family or friends (especially her little brother and sister) are hurt

spencer reid-hotchner: nickname is spence, youngest son, penelope's twin, very smart with an IQ of 187 and very sensitive, sometimes gets bullied but always protected by older brother derek, a bit nerdy like his twin

penelope garcia-hotchner: nickname are pen, penny and garcie, youngest child and daughter, spencer's twin, a little bit loud and boisterous at times but also very sensitive and kind, great at computers and majored in comp-sci in college

tara lewis, matt simmons, luke alvez: triplets, but not related to the hotchners, though they have been family friends with them for years and are treated as family

luke: very popular, football player and jock but not a playboy at all, a little quiet and secretly a nerd, LOVES musicals and baking

tara: very smart, loves psychology and crime-thrillers, very funny and and a bit of a smart-alec, loves teasing her little brother luke

matt: nickname is matty, very mature, very kind and very responsible, also a football player with his brother, often breaks up the arguments between tara and luke when one or the other takes it too far

other details of the headcanon

aaron is currently dating beth who will hopefully be the family's step-mom soon (aaron has been planning to propose for a long time and the kids keep teasing their dad that it'll never happen)

though derek is a playboy all throughout high school, he eventually settles down with a smart girl on the pre-med track in college named savannah

derek often gets into fights with his dad, especially when he was younger, but that's happens less as he gets older and when he finds comfort in savannah

JJ's been dating her high-school sweetheart, Will, since freshman year, they've already started planning how many kids they want and their names (as it stands: 2 boys and a girl, henry, michael and maggie)

matt has also been dating kristy forever, since high-school and they both want a big family

emily, jj and tara are an unlikely trio of best friends; emily has only ever told the other two her biggest fear

derek, matt and luke are also best friends and often include spencer in their hang-outs

penelope and luke were very 'will they, won't they' for a long time because penelope often resisted luke's charm because she was afraid of getting hurt, but eventally start dating and are everyone's favorite couple

penelope dated a bunch of assholes before luke (kevin, shane, tyler) and is part of the reason why she was afraid to date luke -- luke is aware of this and does her best to treat her like a queen

spencer just started dating max but can see himself marrying this girl; max has helped him come out of his shell

spencer is the older twin by 5 minutes and often holds this over penelope's head

matt is the oldest triplet, then tara and then luke (who is the baby and treated as such by his siblings)

spencer and penelope are built-in best friends and watch doctor-who, marvel and star-trek marathons together -- max and luke join these when each couple starts dating

tara, luke and matt often see aaron/dave as parental figures and lean on them for support

they are all very protective of each other, but everyone is the most protective of penelope

tara and penelope call luke 'lukey' as a nickname to bug him, but he secretly loves it

the eight kids (penelope, luke, matt, tara, emily, jj, spencer, derek) don't have that much of an age gap between them so they are all very close, hang-out a lot and very much fit the found-family trope

dave and aaron take the kids (including matt, tara and luke) on a family trip every year -- 2024 is going to be a beach trip

Steve and Eddie as Luke and Penelope from criminal minds… I know people see them as Derek & Penelope. Butttt I think Steddie fits better with Luck. I mean here’s a bit of something I won’t be able to finish because my knowledge of criminal minds is a lot but writing wise? Wouldn’t be able to do. Sooo a concept if you will ~

Eddie not wanting to accept Steve as a new team member. Doesn’t want to accept him as a friend, they’re just co-workers. Eddie also misses his best friend, Jeff who decided to retire to be with his family instead. Eddie was able to play flirt with Jeff, knew each other inside and out, able to communicate without talking.

Jeff was Eddie’s person, and goddamn Steve is not replacing him!

It takes months, nearly a year before Eddie even accepts Steve as a friend. Still refuses to fall for the Harrington Charm. Everything else is good, Steve does fill the spot quite nicely. Gets along great with the rest of the team, knows how to speak with people. Can read them better than Dustin ever could, despite Dustin being their resident genius.

Their flirting started by accident. Eddie still holds Steve at a distance. Even if the guy gets better and better in Eddie’s opinion. Eventually becomes best friends and even possibly more.

They’d work better okay?! Also, I just see Steve more as Luke than Derek. Eddie can totally be Penelope. I only see as Dustin as Reid, and maybe Hopper as Hotchner with Joyce as J.J.?

Idk I’m a little high and only thinking of Steddie slowly falling into friendship and gaining so much trust that builds into an amazing relationship okay? And also I just really love Luke 🥺

In terms of what exactly I’m open to writing? I can write headcanons, blurbs, and one-shots. Specifically smut, angst, and fluff. The more descriptive you are in your requests, the easier it is for me to write them. But I don't mind the challenge of having to make my own plot.

How They meet my Girlfriend - Chapter 2

Chapter 2: Like a Father

Months have passed since Max met Morgan, Savannah and Hank. And she kept facetiming them to plan the art programs and to keep giving Savannah tips to teach Hank how to paint.

He was improving and Max couldn't be more proud of him.

"You are going to be a good mom, Max," said Savannah with a warm smile. She blushed and nodded softly.

"That's something I'm looking for as soon as Spencer and I get married. You know... Not very religious but I still can hear my mother's voice saying 'don't you dare getting pregnant without a ring Maxine' and I can't let my mother down"

That made Savannah laugh "yeah your mom sounds exactly like mine. Anyway... Thank you for everything and hope to see you and Spencer for New Year"

"Of course, I NEED to try Derek's mom's food once again" the two women laughed and said their goodbye.

Then she left for her sister's house. Spencer was in the FBI building teaching Profiling 101 and they would meet at her sister's for lunch and movie night.

At the FBI, things were going well for Spencer. He used one of his cases to teach them how to profile correctly and what they should do.

It wasn't easy but by the end of the day some managed to get to the right answer.

"So how was the class?" Asked JJ walking in.

He smiled at her and picked his bag up "great, but some agents needs more cases, they were slow at making connections"

"Well, not everyone has Spencer Reid's brain" she said sarcastically but with a sweet smile. 

He just laughed and looked at her "yeah I know but three people in this room solved it before the 30 minutes mark. The rest needed from 45 to 50 minutes to do so" he threw data at her like Dr. Reid could do.

"Of course you counted that out" said JJ rolling her eyes playfully "by the way... I came here because Emily wants to talk to you"

"Will it be quick? I'm going to have lunch with Max and her sister's family before watching movies"

JJ was so happy to see him so happy and having fun with his girlfriend, deep inside she still regrets she didn't understand, or accept, her feelings before but she wouldn't change a thing, Will and her kids are everything to her and so is Spencer, in a different and platonic way.

"Yeah don't worry, it will be quick" she smiled and both of them walked to the BAU offices. She told him about how Michael was learning to read his first words and Spencer did a whole speech about how kids learned to identify letters without realizing that.

When they arrived JJ took him inside the conference room and in front of him was Aaron Hotchner, a little older but with the same stoic look and a little smile when he saw him.

"Hey kid" he said and Spencer just hugged him. Their embrace lasted for about five minutes and fifteen seconds, Spencer counted that.

After that the rest of the team joined in and they sat down around the table.

"H... how are you doing? What are you doing here?" Said the genius boy with tears in his eyes.

"Well after the team killed Peter Lewis, me and my son didn't need to be hidden so we got out of the program. I know you all thought it meant my return but I just loved so much to be a full-time father so I didn't want to lose more of my son's big moments" said Hotch smiling "of course I missed you all so much but Emily kept me updated" he laughed softly, something not to common from him.

"We missed you too, the team always feels different when we lose a member and at first we felt lost without you" confessed Spencer.

"Yeah me included" said Emily and the team laughed "but we found our rhythm and work in sync again"

"This team knows how to adapt so I'm not surprised. Even with the lost of our glue, Penelope" said Hotch "she was the constant I never thought would leave"

"She needed it, 15 years watching horrible things wasn't easy" said Luke and some of the team smirked happily for their recently new official relationship status.

"So guys, I didn't come just to see you again, which is always a pleasure, but also to invite you to the last day of Jack's soccer league. They will be facing against one of the best teams in Virginia and the current champions of the league" he said in a serious tone "and there will be headhunters and it's his opportunity to win a scholarship for soccer"

"Wow! That's huge, I got a scholarship and that's how I got out of my hometown" said JJ.

"Yes it's huge and I want this family to watch it. His grandfather died when the Alzheimer got worse and his aunt moved out of town and I can't find her so you are the only family left..."

The BAU loved Jack, especially the OG team, so of course they will be there for him.

Hotch handed each member enough tickets for their closed family.

JJ got 4 for her, her husband and sons; Emily has three for her, Andrew and his daughter; Luke for him and Penelope; Tara for her and her boyfriend; Dave for him and his wife and Matt for him, his wife and five kids.

When Hotch reached Spencer, he had a proud and fatherly smile "Reid... Spencer... I'm so happy for you. When JJ said she was in a relationship with Will, Gideon and I thought you wouldn't give love a second chance" he blushes and Hotch only smiled bigger "you thought I didn't know? I went to Gideon to buy those tickets to the football game" he laughed softly, very out of character but Aaron Hotchner was relaxed and happier, like the man his wife fell in love with "when we lost Maeve I was worry you would lose faith in love, and I was losing my hopes but Emily told me about that brave, young woman you were dating with"

"Why are all my friends like that?" He looked at his boss and his mind imagined Penelope's face "they love to told everything about me" 

Hotch just smirked and handed him two tickets "I want to meet her Spencer '' then he finished giving more tickets to other members of the BAU floor and left the building.

Spencer was nervous about presenting his girlfriend to his former boss, mostly because Aaron was like a father to him and he didn't want to disappoint him, he was aware that Max was amazing and he would love her right away like Derek and the other team members.

He arrived at her father's house and walked in with his key, she gave him one and her father was okay with it. He looked for her and she was in the kitchen getting everything ready with her sisters.

He walked to her "hey girls, how is it going?" He asked softly and wrapped an arm around Max kissing her head.

"Hey babe, we are almost done with this and my dad is turning the barbecue grill on. What took you so long at work?"

"Well my former boss was at the BAU and he invited us to his son's soccer game" he showed her the tickets and he couldn't read her expression, like always, she was hard to read.

"Sounds like fun" she said after reading the invitation, she looked up at him and smiled "are you okay with it?"

"Yeah, why shouldn't I?"

"Well, I know he is like a father to you and I don't want you to feel pressured or nervous" on the other hand he seemed like an open book for her, she could read him so easily.

"Yes, I know but I want you to meet him and I want him to meet you" she nodded and when her sisters left the kitchen and headed to the backyard she kissed him softly.

"Good, I know how important is him for you," she smiled and held his hand to go to the backyard.

The rest of the day was relaxed. They ate, played poker and even shared a couple of cups of wine. They finished the day watching a movie with ice cream and apple pie. Then we left the house late that night.

The rest of the week was busy for both of them. They had so much work to do that they only spent the night together, with the promesa of not talking about work at dinner.

The day of the game arrived and Spencer was wearing the shirt of the team as well as Max, JJ gave him the shirts the day before so they were ready to support the team.

All of them have Jack's number, he was number ten. 

"I never imagined myself wearing a soccer shirt," he said in front of the mirror.

"Then I can be pretty sure that you love that boy and his father, because they made you wear one" she said from the bathroom and Spencer could hear the smirk on her lips as she spoke.

"The things we do for love huh?" He said laughing and she was laughing as well.

"Yeah, must definitely" 

When she was ready they left for the stadium. It was a high school stadium but it was big enough to host the home and visit fans.

They arrived just in time for the national anthem, there were all the team members and their couple, and kids, all wearing the shirt number ten and cheering for Jack.

He was taller than the last time they saw him and his face looked like a beautiful mix between Hailey and Aaron, his blond hair was short and darker than when he was a little boy.

His team had more possession of the ball but couldn't score yet, the time passed as the possession was even now. The other team was more aggressive and attacked more often but their goalkeeper was doing great.

On the other hand, Jack was struggling with a triple mark and couldn't do much for the team in attack.

The first half ended 0-0 but it wasn't boring. Aaron, JJ, Luke and Max left to get them food. 

While they were in line to buy hotdogs, Aaron and Max talked. 

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Max" he said "Emily and JJ talked to me about you and I was so happy to know that our genius boy had a girlfriend"

"I hope they said good things about me" she said with a little smirk looking at JJ getting sodas and snacks with Luke.

"Yes, they did. In fact they told me you were a badass woman and worthy of our boy" that made her blush a little "I don't know if you know about his former girlfriend"

"I do, he told me about her and I know everything about your wife and about Jason and of course his other traumatic experiences with this job"

"Good, then you know that he needs a strong woman, right?" She nodded.

"And I am. I might be shorter and skinny but I will make sure to protect him" Aaron smiled and nodded.

After he left the BAU and spent more time with his son, he started to smile more and to relax more so now his smiles were more genuine and they truly looked happier.

"Good, that's all I wanted and I'm sure Jason as well so I will let Spencer in your hands. Don't let this job take the best of him or your relationship"

"I won't, I promise it" he nodded and smiled then they finally arrived at the counter and ordered their hotdogs, JJ and Luke got in time to help with the trails and they all headed back to their seats.

The rest of the game was more entertaining since the coaches changed some players that weren't doing well. Thirty minutes later Jack scored their first goal after a foul close to the other team's area.

All of them screamed excitedly because his team was fifteen minutes away from being champions.

Their team kept their defense strong and stopped the forward players from scoring. Then Jack assisted a second goal and the match ended 2-0 for his team.

After some minutes the two teams received medals, the losing team got silver and Jack’s team got gold and a cup that Jack lifted since he was the captain. He also won the MVP of the final and the golden boot because he scored the highest number of goals.

That night after taking a shower and changing their clothes, all the members of the group plus the other parents and Jack’s teammates went to Rossi’s house and had dinner there and a toast to celebrate the title and that some guys already got contacted by headhunters. One of them was Jack.

That night Aaron walked to Spencer, who was getting two glasses of water, while Max was dancing with the girls.

“She is the right one” was the only thing his former boss, Spencer smiled and turned but he was walking away already then Spencer looked up at the sky with Gideon on his mind, he took a deep breath and walked back to the girls.

CRIMINAL MINDS: Behaviour Analysis

ROSLYN JAREAU (Tracy Spiridakos)

Hostage Negotiator & Explosive Specialist

White, female, 22, approximately 5 foot and 6 inches. Based in New Orleans, Lousiana. Roslyn "Ro" Jareau is the only daughter and youngest child of Captain William LaMontagne Jr. and late Agent Jennifer Jareau. She is the younger sister of Agent Henry LaMontagne and Detective Michael LaMontagne.

Roslyn is a hostage negotiator for the Behavioral Analysis Unit and specialises in bomb disarmament.

When she was 16, Roslyn's high school went into lockdown due to a school shooting—the BAU arrived as a federal agent's daughter was involved. JJ managed to find her daughter, and get her to safety, but not without dying. Roslyn, six years later, continues to blame herself.

BENTLEY PRENTISS (Jesse Lee Soffer)

Supervisory Special Agent

White, 25-year-old male, roughly standing at 6 foot. Based in Sacramento, California. Bentley "Ben" Prentiss is the only son of former BAU Section Chief Emily Prentiss.

He grew up with the LaMontagnes, due to his mother's close relationship with Jennifer. Because of his mother's job, he didn't see much of her as a young child.

As a teenager, Bentley was quite aggressive due to his lack of parental figures and took much of his anger out on Roslyn—who he was envious of for having both parents in the home for some time—and as an adult, he continues to feel guilty over it.

AARON-JASON REID (Grey Damon)

Forensic Psychologist

6'2, white, male, 27-years-old. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The only son of Doctor Spencer Reid, Aaron-Jason (or simply, Aaron) is a profiler and forensic psychologist with the Behavioral Analysis Unit.

Aaron had a quiet childhood, with his father away from the BAU and in the country of Nevada. He grew up with a younger adopted sister, Jennifer.

He knew of his father's godsons, but never met them until he joined the BAU.

AMELIA ALVEZ (Monica Raymund)

Supervisory Special Agent and Technical Analyst

26-years-old, Hispanic, female, at least 5 foot. Based in Quantico, Virginia. Amelia is the eldest daughter of Luke and Penelope Alvez, and she has two younger sisters. Amelia eventually took up her mother's job in the BAU at Quantico.

Amelia was the only one of the old BAU's kids that knew about Aaron and Jennifer Reid up until adulthood, when the others met Aaron. She didn't grow up with them, but she knew of them at least.

She grew up around technology, her mother being so good with it, and adapts her skills on the move.

ADELINA PRENTISS (Stefania Spampinato)

Bentley's half-sister, 30yo. Lives in Italy.

JENNIFER REID (Barrett Doss)

Aaron's younger sister, 23yo. Lives in Las Vegas.

HENRY LAMONTAGNE (Glen Powell)

Supervisory Special Agent, 38yo. Based in Houston, Texas.

JACK HOTCHNER (Jesse Spencer)

BAU Section Chief, 40yo. Based in Quantico, Virginia.

HANK MORGAN (LaRoyce Hawkins)

Supervisory Special Agent, 30yo. Based in Chicago, Illinois.

After some years of operating in the same place, the BAU discovered that having agents based in different places helps cases. For example, if there's a serial killer in Chicago, the detectives would notify Hank and he'd call it in to Jack, who would call in the rest of the team to meet in Chicago, at Hank's office.

A lot of the team chose to be based in places they grew up in or places they've been to enough times so they're familiar with the area and some of the people. For example, Roslyn chose New Orleans because she'd been there plenty of times with her brothers and parents, and for Hank, he grew up in Chicago so he knows most of the place like the back of his hand.
