#11 & #35
“Don’t you dare throw that snowba-, goddammit!” “You heard me. Take. It. Off.”
A pristine white layer of snow had fallen on the city, making you jump in glee at the sight. You were used to white winters, with the cold wind and snowflakes hitting your red cheeks, the dark evenings by the fireplace enjoying a nice mug of your mum's special hot chocolate and the endless days passed outside, playing in the snow with your neighbors. Winter had always been your favorite season because it was a sign that the Holidays were coming soon, but more than anything, you loved playing in the snow.
Sadly, since you moved from your little hometown in Canada to San Francisco for a job opportunity, the winter you knew changed. The winter after your moving you waited very patiently for the white blanket to fall on the city, only to be disappointed on Christmas when it never happened. Never before did you passed the holiday without the oh so loved frozen water. At this moment, you started doubting your life choice. Could you live in a place where snow is as mythical as Santa?
You had seriously thought about your existential problem for a couple of days and concluded that yes, you would have to live in this city, for your pay was very good, your apartment very comfy and the neighbor a sight for sore eyes. If needed, you could give your parents a visit and enjoy the benefits of your country’s weather.
Now, 4 years later, you didn't regret your choice. In January, soon after your decision of staying in the American city, your neighbor showed up at your door, a sheepish smile on his face. Like everyone else in San Francisco, his apartment was plunged into darkness and all his food needed a certain form of cooking. Sure, he could have ordered some food, but his cell phone was dead. Your hospitable personality made you open the door and invite him inside to share your food. Fortunately for you, you finished cooking your meal just before the electricity stopped flowing through the wires and killed your slow cooker. Sharing a hot stew and a nice sugar pie, you learned a lot about your guest. He was a journalist who moved from New York some years ago to be with his ex-fiancé who broke up with him because he used her access to some legal documents to expose a killer. They both lose their jobs but he managed to clean his name after 6 months.
You found yourself intrigued by him. He looked like the king of guy who you would like to hang around. He seemed sweet, funny, smart and you would dare say trustworthy even if he did stole information to his ex-fiancé. You didn't know if you could have held a grudge at him for that. After all, he tried to expose a sociopath who took advantage of innocents who didn't understand what they were signing for.
When a yawn escaped your mouth, Eddie thanked you for the food and the nice chat. He invited you over a week later when his oven would work and he could attempt to cook something edible for you. You laughed and smiled at him, warmth spreading in your body to the possibilities that having dinner to his place could lead to. You couldn't deny that he was handsome and that you had already imagined how exhaustingly pleasurable a night with him would be.
Now that you looked at him, his lower abdomen hidden from your view but his chiseled chest perfectly on display, his hair still messy from the activities of the night prior and his relaxed expression, you are glad that you chose to stay. You have never been happier than with this man at your side, even in the bad days of your relationship. They were often related to their possessiveness over you, because apparently, you are too naive and kind for your own good.
Oh. Yes. You know about the alien renting your boyfriend's body. You met him one night when Eddie took you out on a date. You were both on his bike, getting back home after a romantic dinner at an Italian restaurant when a drunk driver decided that the red light was a new sign for let's roll even faster and hit Eddie's bike at a crazy speed. Every time the brunette took you on a ride, you always enjoyed having your head on his back, your eyes scanning your side environment and not the front. This time was no exception, causing your heart to stop beating for a second when you saw the car coming at full speed in your exact position. Your muscles reacted quickly, your hands tightening on your boyfriend's jacket and eyes closing tightly in anticipation of the impact.
To your surprise, you didn't die. You expected pain, some broken limbs, a lot of blood… and more pain. But none of that happened. You felt an impact, but it was like you were in a pool of jello. The impact was weakened, everything around you seemed to be undulating and every sound was muffled. Maybe it was your adrenaline kicking in, numbing all your senses. After all, you never felt an adrenaline rush before so you couldn't compare. When your eyes finally opened, you realized that your senses weren't muffled by your fight or flight hormone but by an enormous beast with the most frightening rows of fangs you have ever saw.
You remember the panic that consumed your thoughts and paralyzed your body. Tears were staining your cheek while all you could do was stare at the black creature who got you pressed against its chest with its bulky arms. A whimper escaped your mouth, his pristine eyes meeting your frightened gaze. He seemed to open his mouth to talk, but the second his fangs moved, you tried to push yourself away with all your might. Your greatest feat was that you had managed to keep the content of your bladder in your bladder. It passed really close, but the gates remained closed and your ego was still intact. Closing his mouth and hiding his fangs from your view by doing so, the dark creature you would soon know as Venom took you home. You may have been paralyzed in fear back at the crash scene, now that you were in your apartment it was completely different. You hadn't realized it was your apartment. Just that he took you through a window and let you down. It was then that the real adrenaline kicked in. Your heart quickened its already fast pace, your breathing following the lead. A sudden surge of courage made you feel invincible and, without thinking much about your action, you throw your arm back while curling your hand in a tight fist and put all your strength in the punch directed at the middle of its black chest.
You didn't expect the surface to be so hard, nor did you expect the disturbing crunch of your metacarpal bones breaking. This pain, you felt it very clearly and boy did you regret your move. You had a good boyfriend though, he appeared underneath all the black mass and tended to your physical and mental wounds. He answered every question you had about the alien while getting you to the hospital to get your hand checked up.
Back to the matter at hand, the snow on your window sill was very tempting. So tempting that you couldn't help but to open the window and make a little ball out of the cold flakes. You loved the feeling of the snow melting in your hand, memories playing in the back of your mind. Suddenly, a smile crept on your face, a hilarious plan forming into your mind.
Gathering a bit more of the precious snow, you shaped it in a no too tight ball and hide it behind your back. You didn't want to hurt him with a too-tight ball at close range, but you wanted it to explode all over his chest. As quietly as possible, you made your way back to your sleeping boyfriend. Luckily for you, he wasn't a light sleeper, especially when both symbiote and man joined forces to give you a complete night of sensation and pleasure. The following mornings were generally passed in bed, cuddling with feather-like touches and small kisses.
Climbing in the bed, you straddled his abdomen and peppered his face with kisses while slowly touching his exposed chest. In no time, a black snaky head formed near Eddie's head, a small toothy smile greeting you. His low purr made you giggle before you greeted him with his daily good morning kiss on the head.
You had made it your personal mission to thank the symbiote every day for saving your life. The boys repeated you countless of time that you didn't have to do it, Venom was happy to save you from any danger, but you wouldn't have any of that. It started with baked goods. He always loved your cookies and cakes, so each day there was a tray full for him. You never told them, but you wanted to give the symbiote cookies because he still scared the shit out of you at first. This tactic had as a goal to keep him away from you while maybe gain his good graces. You had them already but all you could see in him was a dangerous predator and every time he was fully out, the hair on your neck would rise. But then you finally saw the soft side of him. It was there for you the whole time, only for you, but you were blinded by the fangs, the wicked talons and the difference of height. He had always been delicate around you, cautious to never cause you any harm or scare you off for good. He could smell your fear whenever he was there, saddening him that he couldn't have his affection returned. Eddie was there to cheer him up and show him to be patient. Your reaction was normal, you just needed time. All his efforts paid off in the end because one day after he had defended you from Eddie's eternal teasing about your 'Canadian spirit' (all that because you can't stop yourself from saying sorry) you had kissed his head as a thank you for helping you. He had blinked at you several time, seemingly processing the interaction and suddenly a loud purr resonated in the room. Your laughter surprised even yourself and you couldn't resist but pet Venom's head like you would do a cat. His eyes closed in bliss and the purring continued for a while. He wasn't as monstrous as you initially thought, so you changed your thank you tactic for kisses on the head. With time, your kisses held a much more different meaning. Venom could feel your affection in them and in your manner of interacting with him, in your little touches, your smiles, and whispers at night. He thought he was glad that he had found his perfect host, but he was really glad that his host had found the perfect partner for both of them.
Venom returned your kiss with a little lick on the cheek of his own, satisfying his craving for your contact. His little head nuzzled your neck, leaving little licks here and there. You returned to your task of waking up your human boyfriend, placing your hand not holding the snowball on his cheeks, the feeling of his subtle facial hair tickling your palm made you smile. How you got such a handsome gal and his symbiote in your life was beyond your understanding. You were so normal, sometimes you couldn't stop yourself but be shy in public when you were with him. You would try to make yourself small, but they wouldn’t have any of that, instead getting you to the front if the attention and showing you off. His wonderful girlfriend, he would always say.
Your gaze meets a sleepy blue one, his lips moving to form a smile while a hand moved to your buttocks. He never told you, but you knew he loved it when you wore his shirts. Every time there was one on the floor, you would pick it up and wear it with nothing else. At first, there weren’t a lot of them, he would usually throw them in the laundry basket but some didn't make it because he got home late at night and was too exhausted to reach the basket. After some time of your form wearing only his shirts around the apartment, you started to find his shirts on the floor more often.
"Good morning gorgeous." His raspy voice reached your core, making you blush lightly. You hide your face in the crook of his neck.
"Good morning handsome." You kissed his throat following by his lips and sit back up on him. The snowball started to melt in your hand so you had to make your move soon. Your radiant smile made him frown in confusion.
"Today is not Christmas, right? I think there's another month before that." His question made you laugh. You shook your head and started to trace forms on his chest.
"You're right." You stopped your tracing and leaning down to his ear. "Last night, something spectacular happened." You whispered.
His hand on your ass tightened in recollection of last night’s activities. Little did he know that you weren't talking about that. He grunts in approval to your statement and shifts a bit beneath you. You straightened once more and smiled sweetly at his naked form.
"You see, it snowed last night and I thought that you would like to feel it." You said, getting on your knees and ready to throw the snowball at him, your hand in the air.
He immediately tried to protect himself with his arms, forming an X between you and him. His eyes were wide open and his voice urgent.
"Don't you dare throw that snowba-, goddammit!"
You couldn't help yourself but throw it at his chest, bypassing his bad protection. In a second, you were on your feet and ran for the kitchen in an attempt to put distance between you and the cursing man. Your laughter led him back to you in seconds, his pissed expression making you double over and clench at your stomach. His strong hands got a hold of your body, carrying you over his shoulder to the bathroom. He put you in the shower, cautious that you won't fall in the tub while Venom started the cold water. Your laughter stopped immediately when the cold water came in contact with your skin and a shriek escaped your lips. You tried to get out the tub but Eddie's strong arms blocked your escape.
"I'm sorry!" You shouted in an attempt to make them stop. Soon after, the water warmed up and Eddie joined you under the shower.
His lips found yours, initiating a well-known choreography. Your hands found their home in his hair while his were busy unbuttoning his navy shirt from your body. When he managed to open the all, he lost no time in getting it off of you, your hands leaving the softness of his hair for a moment. Your lips never let go of his, exploring the well-known territory that was his mouth. His hands got to your rear once more and a subtle tightening of his fingers told you when to jump and wrap your legs around his waist. His firm cock getting in contact with your skin got a low moan from him, the sound muffled by your mouth locked on his. Desperate for air, you pulled away, panting. His mouth shot to your throat, kissing and sucking on all your tender spots he passed so much time mentally mapping.
His thumb found your bundle of nerves, applying a good amount of pressure and being awarded by your moans. He played with you a bit, alternating between your clit and your entrance, working out your patience. He loved to hear you beg for his cock inside you, loved how desperate your kisses become after a bit of teasing. However, he had to be cautious because if he pushed you too far, you knew how to use Venom to your advantage and Eddie would be in the passenger seat while Venom took control of his body. The symbiote wouldn't come out, but everything would be him. He would control his limbs, his voice, he would have the feelings first hand and Eddie would have the remnants. Now, he couldn't have that. Maybe later, but certainly not now.
Impatience flashed in your eyes and Eddie was quick to silence you with a passionate kiss. The head of his cock teased your entrance, a buck of your hips telling him to hurry. His hard shaft slowly got in with ease, you walls deliciously tightening around him as if to welcome him. It was there that he truly felt at home, in you to the tilt, connected to you in the most intimate way and allowed to share every feeling with you without any shame. With each trust your panting accelerated and your moans became louder. Music to his ears, your voice encouraged him to go faster and deeper, reaching spots that he knew would get you to your climax and get him over the edge with you.
His name was your anchor. You moaned it in pleasure, a sweet devotion in his ears. Your fingers tightened in his hairs and he knew you were close. His thrusts became erratic, unable to concentrate on one thing. His thumb returned to your clit, giving you the pressure you needed to reach your orgasm and trigger his own. Both your moans resonated in the bathroom, the sound of the shower faint in the background. Eddie's legs were shaking a bit due to the force of his climax, but he got a good grip on you, Venom helping a lot. Closing the shower, he got you out of the tub and slowly put you on your wobbly feet.
You both dry yourself quickly and made your way back to your shared bedroom. Eddie followed you, his eyes mesmerized by the perfect form of your ass. He got a perfect view of your pussy when you bent down to get another shirt of his that was laying on the floor and put it on. Eddie tried to stop you from doing so but failed when you ducked under his arms. Quickly, you fastened the buttons and smiled, victorious.
"Love, I need this one today. Got an interview at 2." He put his hand in front of him, palm open up as if you were going to give it to him. Fool. Shaking your head, you took a step back with a playful smile.
"No. It was on the floor, I can take it." Was your simple answer. Frowning, Eddie made his way toward you in his naked glory.
"You heard me. Take. It. Off. I need it. It was clean and just fell on the floor." He presented his hand again and you shook your head again.
"And you heard me. No." At that, Eddie jumped forward and grabbed your waist. If you will not give him his shirt, he will take it. Before his hand even started lifting the fabric from your form, you hit him with your secret weapon. "You won't let a pregnant woman all naked in the cold, would you?"
It did the trick, his hands stopped moving immediately and his breath caught in his throat. He blinked, just like Venom when you first kissed his head, and his mouth opened in silent words. His hands let go of the shirt and slowly moved to your stomach. He frowned and his face took a concentrated expression. You knew he and Venom were communicating. You could feel Venom's heat through the fabric of Eddie's shirt, probably searching for proof of your saying. When Eddie's eyes returned to yours, tears were menacing to fall, his hands shaking a bit on your belly, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Since when do you know?" His voice is low, almost afraid that you will tell him that it was a joke even with the confirmation that a little being was growing inside your womb. He felt the tiny heartbeat with Venom's sharpened senses.
"Two days ago. I haven't been in my period in a while, so I tried a test." Putting your hand on his, "Congratulations, daddy." The tears accumulating in his eyes finally spilled and fell on your joined hands. Seeing his reaction made you tear up too, his happiness being contagious. His lips meet yours in a quick kiss before his laugh reached your ears.
"I can't wait to see your showing belly in my shirts." He kneeled in front of you, pulled the front of the shirt and got his head in the shirt, his face on your belly with the shirt on the back of his head. Wasting no time, he kissed your skin and whisper sweet words to your unborn child, his facial hair tickling you. From your place, it seemed like you had a bump instead of your boyfriend's head and the shirt was already tight with the extra flesh.
"I think I'll have to change to your sweater, your shirts will become too tight very quickly." You touch his head like you would do your growing belly. You couldn't wait for the child to be born and present him or her their amazing father. Getting out of the piece of clothing, Eddie got up and nodded, beaming.
"Good idea." He hugged you tightly, "You don't know how happy you're making me." His voice was muffled by your hair, but you heard him clearly. You knew he would be happy. You two had already talked about having kids and you remember how Eddie was scared that you wouldn't want to have a child with him. You were quick to correct him, but you knew he didn't completely believe you. Now, it was happening and he was overjoyed. "Thank you."
"It was a team effort." You kissed the side of his head. "Well, more like you made all the effort but now it's my turn for 9 months, so team effort." He laughed at that. "More seriously though, I always wanted a kid with you Ed. So thank you." You tightened your arms a bit around his back and shrieked when he suddenly lifted you and put you on the bed.
His wicked smile told you everything you needed to know. Kissing your lips, Eddie made its way south, kissing an invisible path toward your wetness. You protested a bit but was cut off by Eddie's tongue on your clit.
"Let us thank you properly, love." His low tone made you shiver and suddenly you forgot why you tried to stop him from touching your aching flesh.

Rebellion preview
Rich Swann vs. Kenny Omega - Swann is the Impact Wrestling men's world champion, and Omega is the AEW men's world champion. Both prizes are on the line; it will be champion versus champion, title for title. This isn't the first time top champions from different promotions have squared off, but it usually only happens at a minor-league level, or when one group is in the process of absorbing the other. Truly interpromotional champion vs. champion battles at this level are rare, and even rarer when both titles are defended. So even though it's "just" Impact, and even though AEW has only been around for "just" a couple of years, it's still fairly special.
Omega also holds the AAA mega championship, but it looks as though that title is not at stake. Last month Swann unified the Impact title with Moose's unofficial TNA world title, but he's still carrying around both belts, so I'm not really sure if they're both on the line here. So technically this isn't winner take all. Maybe we can call it winner take most?
This match has been brewing since December, when Impact executive Don Callis made a guest appearance on AEW Dynamite, and helped AEW executive Omega win the AEW title. Since then, Callis and Omega have been throwing their weight around in both promotions. Swann took offense at the idea that Omega is the "real" world champion, and Omega expressed an interest in collecting more top championships. After Omega pinned Swann to win a six-man tag team match in January, it became clear that they had to meet one-on-one and put it all mostly on the line.
Omega is clearly the heavy favorite to win. They've all but said that in the storyline, with Callis trying to get in Swann's head about how he really has no chance. The minute Callis said he was bringing Kenny to Impact, everyone started fantasy booking past "Omega beats Swann" all the way up to "Omega invades New Japan to collect more belts." It's going to be tricky to lay this match out in a way that doesn't make Swann look like a second-rate chump. But Kenny is the guy who took a lot of guff from people who thought he made Allan Angels look too good in a squash match last year. If he can manage that, I'm pretty sure he can and will protect Swann.
The bigger question is what happens after Impact puts their world title on an AEW guy. Impact will have a outsider as their champion, who only wrestles for them on special occasions, and they can't plan a date for him to lose the title without clearing it with Tony Khan. For a company the size of Impact, that's a small price to pay to have the prestige of Omega carrying their richest prize. But it's risky business not having an endgame planned out, and I doubt their fanbase will have an appetite for Kenny Omega playing Brock Lesnar with Impact's top guys. But that issue will have to play out later; for now we just get to wait and see if the inevitable really happens.
Juice Robinson & David Finlay vs. Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson - FinJuice suddenly showed up in Impact a couple of months ago and won the Impact men's tag title from the Good Brothers. Then they took the belts back to New Japan Pro Wrestling, and now they're back to give the former champs a rematch.
The story of the feud is that Robinson and Finlay were "young boys" back when Gallows and Anderson were the top team in New Japan, but now the tables have turned. What's more interesting, though, is the metanarrative: If NJPW is sending FinJuice to fight the Good Brothers in Impact, and AEW is sending Kenny Omega to team with the Good Brothers in Impact, then sooner or later NJPW and AEW will end up directly working together for the real fantasy matchups. If FinJuice retain here it strengthens the idea that the NJPW/Impact relationship isn't a one-off; if they drop the belts then it could go either way. That's kind of more compelling than anything about the match itself.
I'm a fan of Juice, so I'm always up for seeing him getting to win big matches and capturing championships. But seeing FinJuice in New Japan with the Impact tag belts felt a little hollow, because I know they're only doing that because they're not figured into major programs in New Japan. So I'm not sure where I want to see them end up after this. For now, though, I'll be rooting for them to keep frustrating the Good Brothers.
Deonna Purazzo vs. Tenille Dashwood - Dashwood improbably won a six-way hardcore match to earn the right to challenge Purazzo for the Impact women's championship. It's a little weird booking a heel vs. heel match, but Purazzo has kinda cleaned out the division so there aren't a lot of better options. No offense to these two, but this is basically a one-match show no matter what they put on the undercard, so if they have something better in mind it makes sense to save it for, say, Slammiversary.
I always felt like Dashwood was undervalued by WWE and never got a strong run anywhere else to prove her worth. So it'd be neat if they put her over now, but her current character is so two-dimensionally vapid that it's hard to take her seriously. Purazzo's gimmick is that she's really fucking good at wrestling, and Dashwood's gimmick is that she's only really interested in her Instagram or whatever. So on paper Purazzo has to clobber this chump; if she gets bamboozled by a distraction from Kaleb with a K then she looks like a giant idiot, and Tenille is just the chump who beat a giant idiot.
Now, if they want to have Dashwood turn it up a notch and remember it says "marquee" on the wrestling, then great. But I'm not expecting them to do that. Deonna should retain.
Ace Austin vs. TJP vs. Josh Alexander - This is a three-way match for Austin's X division title, so the first man to score a fall over either opponent wins the match and the championship.
I think this match is a three-way because Austin won the title in some other three-way. They do three-ways for this title a lot. I mean, I'm grateful they finally quit doing Rohit Raju vs. TJP vs. Chris Bey, so that's something. But I'm pretty sure the last time I wrote about an X title match on an Impact PPV I just bitched about why multi-man matches suck and don't settle anything. I bet I said that the winner will just end up feuding with the guy who wasn't pinned, and then a third guy will interject himself to set up another multi-man that doesn't settle anything. I wish Kenny Omega would collect this belt and put it out of its misery.
Matt Cardona vs. Brian Myers - Cardona and Myers came up through WWE together as the Major Brothers and later as Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. They were both cut from WWE a year ago, and Myers quickly signed with Impact while Cardona had a cup of coffee with AEW. It seemed like they had gone their separate ways until Cardona turned up in Impact, which Myers resented. Now they're finally squaring off to settle their differences. But considering Myers is playing a conniving heel that tries to weasel out of stuff, I get the feeling he won't give Cardona the chance to settle anything in the ring. This match feels it'll either end in a disqualification or a fuck finish.
Sami Callihan vs. Trey Miguel - This is billed as a "last man standing" match, so if a wrestler is on the ground and fails to get up to answer the referee's ten-count, his opponent is the last man standing and the winner. Other than that rule, anything goes.
Miguel had spent a few years in Impact as part of the Rascals with Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz, but then all three got a big sendoff back in November. Dez and Wentz signed with WWE and have since captured the NXT tag team titles as Wes Lee and Nash Carter. Trey unexpectedly returned to Impact in January, and Callihan has been giving him shit about being alone. Callihan keeps trying to provoke and manipulate Miguel into becoming Sami's protege. So it's kind of a thing where Trey has to either pull out all the stops to get a big win over a top guy, or fight so savagely that he turns to the dark side and accepts Sami as a mentor.
This may sound weird, but Callihan almost seems like Impact's equivalent to Bray Wyatt in WWE. Not, like, in terms of magic powers or whatever (although he does seem to teleport now and then). What I mean is every Sami Callihan storyline is kind of overwritten with all these layers of character development and intrigue about how Sami is trying to make the babyface recognize some subtle point. It's all so psychological, but then it just boils down to a vicious brawl, and Sami usually loses, so it kind of doesn't matter. Then they do it all over again and act like it's so deep, as if we hadn't seen him do it eight times already.
I think Trey should probably win if they're going to do anything with him. But on the other hand I think Sami needs a win at this point. But if Sami beats Trey I'm a tag concerned that Trey will become his crustpunk disciple or something, which is a little too close to what Eric Young is already doing.
Eric Young & Rhino & Cody Deaner & Joe Doering vs. Eddie Edwards & Willie Mack & Chris Sabin & James Storm - Young's team is Violent By Design. The group started feuding with Sabin and Storm a few weeks ago. (Storm became Sabin's regular tag team partner when Alex Shelley decided to sit out until he can be vaccinated, for the good of his physical therapy patients.) I don't really remember how Edwards and Mack got pulled into this, but it was inevitable as VBD is one of those groups that all the babyfaces are going to end up feuding with.
I read that Young tore his ACL during the last set of TV taping, and he worked through it in a number of matches. I don't know if this is one of them, because I don't know if this show is live or if it was taped weeks ago. Either way, it's possible Young just won't do anything during the match. Or they'll do an angle to write him out immediately before or immediately after the match. I'm not sure what happens to VBD while he's sidelined. But in the moment, I think they're the favorites to win this match.
Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz vs. Jordynne Grace & ??? - Hogan and Steelz (Fire & Flava) are defending the Impact women's tag team title. Grace earned this shot when she and her partner Jazz defeated the champs in a non-title match. However, Jazz had recently put her career on the line in a match she lost, so to honor the stipulation she declined to participate. So Grace gets a different partner for this match, who probably won't be identified until right before the bell rings.
Impact has been hyping the return of Taylor Wilde, but somehow I don't feel like she'd fit in this spot. If I remember right, Jazz said she had someone in mind for Grace's partner, and it's hard to imagine either of them deciding Wilde is a good fit with their team. ODB would make more sense, except she already came in to team with Jazz and Grace, so it'd be anticlimactic to just go there again. I think it's highly unlikely that anyone WWE let go on April 15 would be available for this show, so don't get your hopes up for Mickie James or Chelsea Green.
Usually you would expect the team with a mystery partner to blindside the other team for a big win to hype up said mystery partner. But it's possible they could do a swerve--the mystery woman could turn on Grace, for example. Without any idea who Grace's partner will be, I'd personally rather see Fire & Flava keep the belts. So if there is going to be a title change, I really hope they have somebody who can win me over.

-Spectacular Spider-man #223 (February, 1995) Carnage. Part 2/2 of (). Carnage cameo and Shriek because god forbid we leave her alone for five god damn minutes to NOT be shat on
-Venom: Carnage Unleashed #1 (February, 1995) Venom and Carnage in the most mid 90′s plot ever imagined as they fight in VIDEO GAME CYBER SPACE. Also the intro to Dr. Pazzo and Kirstin two minor characters I really love. Some Cletus backstory. The most realistic gaming exec ever depicted
-Venom: Carnage Unleashed #2 (March, 1995) Venom and Carnage
-Venom: Carnage Unleashed #3 (April, 1995) Venom and Carnage. Pazzo is the worlds most under paid psyche
-Venom: Carnage Unleashed #4 (May, 1995) Venom and Carnage. Venom and Carnage fight on the internet, Pazzo is a badass, Alana should be hooking up with Pazzo, Kirstin is a good kid, and Kirstin’s mom is a stone cold fox
-The Amazing Spider-man #403 (May, 1995) Carnage makes a guest appearance in a spiderman arc and they have a lot of fun with it
-Amazing Spider-man Super Special: (April, 1995) Venom and Carnage. Eddie Brock contemplates the Who Is In Control Conundrum. Planet of the Symbiotes part 1/5
-Spider-Man Super Special: (May, 1995) Venom and Carnage. Eddie Brock still wants to help. Planet of the Symbiotes part 2/5
-Venom Super Special: (June, 1995) Venom and Carnage. Symby still wants to help. The artist likes Geiger. I still can’t hate MJ as much as I want to. Planet of the Symbiotes part 3/5
-Spectacular Spider-man Super Special: (July, 1995) Venom and Carnage. EVERYONE gets a symbiote and thee’s like 80 amazing background symbiotes and boy even when they’re evil i sure love goo. Also 40 foot tall Carnage. Planet of the Symbiotes part 4/5
-Web of Spider-man Super Special: (August, 1995) Venom and Carnage. Tht One I’m Petty Sure Has MJ And Peter Fuck While Ben And Brock Watch TV In Th Next Room. Oh and remember when Eddie was asking if him or the symbiote was in control? Well The answer is: It doesn’t matter as long as they’re saving and protecting innocent people together. I’m sure this is a lesson that will be remembered in future issues. IM SORRY IM ADDING THIS COMMENTAY AT A LATER DATE BUT I STAN LEATHER AND LACE FROM THE SECOND STORY HOOOOOOOOHMYGD THEY DONT HAVE NY OTHER APPEANCES IM SCREAMING  Planet of the Symbiotes part 5/5
-Venom: Sinner Takes All #1: (July, 1995) Opens with beautiful sleeping beauty rapunzel Eddie Bock. Eddie Brock loves Anne Weying but is also a huge idiot. Side story about the Beat Venom’s Ass Squad.
-Venom: Sinner Takes All #2: (August, 1995) Symby suggests they save Anne’s Life because they liek her! Just....not enough to completely leave Eddie without a squabble and half hearted threats. The first appearance of She Venom!!!
-Venom: Sinner Takes All #3 (August, 1995) She Venom kills two rapists!!!! Discussion about how the symbiote can’t make anyone do anything they don’t want to. Discussion about how being forced to look at the less savory parts of yourself is a violation and how having a sudden full objective view of who you are could be psychologically damaging. A topic that ties well into the fact a man called the Sin Eater is trying to kill Anne because he thinks she’s evil. An over all really good issue that I’m sure won’t be obliterated by some shitty ass shat of a retcon 33 years later!!!!
-Venom: Sinner Takes All #4 (September, 1995) Oh yeah the sin eater is still a thing.
-Venom: Sinner Takes all #5 (October, 1995) The Artists Lesbian Fem Dom Fetish Can No Longer Be Ignored. Eddie is suicidal and the symbiote are evil for one panel but it’s going to be enough for some assholes in the future. More She-Venom. Anne and Eddie are separate for now
-Carnage: Mind Bomb (December, 1995) Carnage. A bit ~Edgy~ but a fun look into Cletus and Red’s Shared ideals and beliefs and....ngl kinks I’m pretty sure.
-Spider-man Holiday Special (December 1995) Venom side story. Venom dress up as Santa.
-Venom Along Came a Spider #1 (November, 1995) Life Foundation symbiotes side story with the introduction of Scott Washington and the creation of Hybrid!  Bonding with the symbiote gives Anne Weying a big ass orgasm. But only Anne for some reason. Either Anne is a FREAK or alternatively Eddie has a REALLY good poker face. Possibly both. Unfortunately this is show in the worst art style in a Venom comic to date. Oh and also the first comic to compare the symbiote to drugs.
-Venom: Along Came a Spider #2 (December, 1995) Hybrid side story. This mini continues to be the most god damn erratic mixed bag of shit and gold. Anne smacks Venom with a lead pipe like it’s a rolled up newspaper and they’re a badly behaved dog. Scott Washington and the Lifo symbiotes suffer. Oh wait bonding with a symbiote has rapey undertones so yeah Anne is a def a freak, Eddie’s poker face is god tier, and poor Scott is into it once he realizes the possibilities. The Lifo symbiotes are scared and sad.
-Venom: Along Came a Spider #3 (January, 1996) Hybrid side story. The art of the main story and the writing of the ide story go from not-great to Unfortunate.
-Venom: Along Came a Spider #4 (March, 1996) Hybrid side story. The phrase “don’t let the Venom side of you take over” is said while the most stupidly posed image takes place. It’s so missing the point of the past several years and so sexist it loops around to being endearing in a Harlequin romance sort of way. Oh yeah the symbiote is just drugs now I guess.
-Amazing Spider-man #410  (February, 1996) Carnage guest stars. Boy there sure is a bunch of weird spiderman drama I don’t care about in the midst of my Carnage comic. Spider Carnage 2/4
-Spider-man #67 (February, 1996) Carnage guest stars. More unimportant spider drama but you get to hear Red’s thoughts! Spider Carnage part 3/4
-Spectacular Spider-man #233 (March, 1996) Carnage. Cleets and Red reunited and it’...well I mean it happens. Spider Carnage part 4/4
-Venom: The Hunted #1: (March, 1996) Scream guest stars and Hybrid in the second story!!
-Venom: The Hunted #2 (April, 1996) Scream and Hybrid. But more importantly: R A D   E D D I E
-Venom: The Hunted #3 (May, 1996) Scream and Hybrid. How Do You Do Fellow Youths.

Life is wonderful (a deal is made)
N/A: So, this one will be short, if Zaorva let me(lol) but I will TRY to connect the plotlines here. TRY.
@djinmer4 @sailorstar9 @dannybagpipesarecalling @discordsworld @look-ma-no-hands336 @bamfoftheundead
Dr Corveu has a special mission that requires the X-men´s assistance, of course, not everyone is happy with this decision, recently the public image of the mutants, at the least the X-men, is shifting, some people like start to see them as heroes and Senator Kelly is not happy about it, thankfully, he has no power to change that.
Another point the X-men must plan ahead their steps, they aren´t new to space missions, but, this time they have a different worry to deal. "And...what about our fairy guest?" Hank asked once Scott and Ororo explained how the team will be divided. Betsy, Scott, Rogue and Gambit will go while Hank, Ororo and Bobby will stay.
"About this situation," Ororo states "order her to stay or go is a terrible idea" and no one needs to remember what happened with Jean Grey when she tried that.
"If she wants to, she will go, if she wants to stay...she stays"
___________________________________
Meanwhile, in Atlantis, Namor held no qualms in fighting and killing the Avengers, well, only the extras as he so kindly labels. Namor does not take kindly that the Avengers dare to attack Atlantis, however, Dagon didn´t let him go directly against the main Avengers.
They belong to IT.
Namor is arrogant but not dumb enough to go against Dagon´s orders, however, Dagon didn´t say anything about correct the Avengers on some assumptions.
"Avengers!" Namor states in his own definition of kindness as another toy of Tony Stark is broken "The ones you seek, Jean Grey, Professor X and Logan are not in Atlantis or in Dagon´s realm...they were devoured by Zaorva. Your quest to avenge only lead to death and destruction...on your part, come back to Atlantis and the pain will be worse" Namor tosses a dead robotic head to IronMan who is out his wits.
Vision is no longer an Avenger and is helping Spectrum, however, Vision did mention to Tony Stark how pointless this mission was and how he would not get what he was hoping for, once again, Vision was right.
________________________________
"Oh, your Herald is well behaved" a deep grave voice echoes in the deep blue space where Dagon rules supreme, but, not all the water in this planet can ever help against IT. "I´m almost impressed"
Dagon looks bemused and even offended at IT´s presence. "What do you want? My Herald didn´t kill your precious Avengers...you can leave" Dagon speaks noticing how his space is being morphed by IT´s mere presence.
"So touchy, little fish, all I want is to say hi, is that a way to greet friends?" IT has no form only the darkness that is slowly consuming his space to the point Dagon is having a hard time to distinguish where he begins and where IT ends.
"Oh, little fish, I just want to chat, no need to fear me" his tone is cruel and Dagon can´t ever forget who is the powerful one here. "Zaorva has her own little group and I want to make sure that no fish bothers her"
Dagon narrows his eyes at the nothing staring at him. "If is that what Zaorva wants?"
"Yes, is what she wants and she makes that much clear, little fish, remember on the beach episode? Yes, me too and I don´t want you even looking at Zaorva" Dagon is being engulfed by IT´s darkness "because it would be a damn shame if something happens to Atlantis or your little fish people group, so, little fish behave or else...you will see why Squidboy fear me"
Dagon can only nod hating everything in this situation. How powerless he is and how unfair life can truly be.
___________________________________
Kitty Pryde has a mission and Zaorva rarely is one to give herself a mission in such a way, but, Life is all about fairness and deals so she must fulfil her end with the Shiars.
("You know who Am I?" Zaorva asked the Queen that nods solemnly "I´m here to say the original host of your god was eaten by me" Lilandra does not dare to speak against Zaorva "for reasons of being annoying, however, I´m also here to said Pheonix will be back, I have found a good host for Pheonix, so, Queen Lilandra prepare the celebration...my younger sister is coming home")
The new students are studying or training their powers or being silly teenagers("Yana there´s more bands than MCR" "But they get me") as their seniors are planning space travel, Kitty did humour Scott saying she wants to go.
("Of course I want to go to Space, but, I have one condition" she did speak and Scott gulps oh so similar to Lilandra. It was cute. "What´s your condition?" "I want to bring another X-men with me" Scott did think for a moment and agree "as long is not a student, I don´t see why not")
Jubilee Lee is outside, in the gardens as she´s playing with her powers crafting big explosions that gave a colourful light and a loud sound, this amuses Jubilee, but, not enough to make her woes go away.
"Jubilee?" Kitty asked sitting next to the American-Chinese woman. "why are you here all alone?" her tone is calm and friendly and the explosions stop. Jubilee puts a fake smile and lets her sunglasses hide her face.
"Just enjoying some "Me" time," Jubilee said and Kitty shakes her head. Many times people told what Kitty could be and how lying is not the best way, but, she does not want to confess her insecurities so easily.
"I see, and your ''Me'' time usually involves high inferiority complex and resentment?" she asked dubiously and Jubilee sighs id futile to lie to her in the end.
"Look, I just think I´m the weakest link here...my powers are pretty useless" Jubilee confessed.
"I disagree. Let me put in this way, who you think is the strongest X-men here?"
You. is what Jubilee wanted to say but Kitty is sure, not human.
"Ororo, Scott and Rogue" is a safer answer.
"True, but, their power alone was not enough. Rouge was defeated by Sabertooth too, Scott has his demons to face and Storm´s powers did attract bad people´s intention" Kitty revealed. "My point is, no one has a useless power, is how you use your power that changes everything"
"Well, is easy for you to say that...but, is it wrong of me to want to be more powerful? Maybe it is"
"No is not, I believe power can show the true nature of people, and I think you´re a good person Jubilee, so, I want to make a deal with you" Jubilee´s eyes are wide. A deal with a fae is dangerous, but, Kitty´s tone is too soothing to be dangerous.
"I can grant you with a new set of powers" Jubilee listen as she notices she is no longer on the garden "the only price it will be sharing the power with my youngest sister"
"Is she a Symbiote? Because I´m not Eddie Brock or any weirdo on the internet" Jubilee says and Kitty laughs shaking her head.
"No, no symbiote" And Kitty stand her hand like a bird made of fire appears on her arm "this is Pheonix and she needs a host to exist"
"If, big IF here, miss Fairy, if I accept this will I still be me?"
"In some cases, Pheonix does take out all the personality of the person, but not in this case...she did that with Jean Grey once, but, you´re far better than Jean Grey that´s why I pick you for this"
Jubilee looks mesmerized by the flame bird. There´s a sense of honour in being the pick to have this bird.
"If, again, big if, I accept this...will it hurt?"
"No, it will be quick and painless, in fact, is quite enjoyable from what I heard from other hosts" and then she adds "we will only do it if you consent...if not I can look for someone else"
Jubilee is thinking and Zaorva answers a silent question. " if you say yes you can kiss the man you love without worrying about exploding"
Now Jubilee is gazing at Kitty. She knows her answer.
"Then, I accept" she closes her eyes thinking something dramatic would happen but nothing.
"Jubilee, the phoenix can´t enter you here. Besides, there´s a celebration waiting for you" and now there are back in the garden. Jubilee has no idea where they were but she knows they are back.
"Be my plus one in this mission, Jubilee?"
Jubilee wonders what just happened, but, deep down something told her to say yes. Without a falter, Jubilee will be going to the mission with Kitty Pryde.

The Brock Lesnar Problem
Tumblr media
The Conqueror. The Beast Incarnate. The Mayor of Suplex City. The Next Big Thing. The One in 21-1. Brock Lesnar has been called many things in his illustrious career. You’d think, with all of his accomplishments and nicknames, you’d think Brock’s got a pretty good thing going for him. And while that is true, it doesn’t change the fact that Brock is pretty much the worst thing in WWE right now. And in this post, we’re going to be taking in an depth look into The Brock Lesnar Problem. Before I can go into that however, I feel like I need to point a few things out. First of all of course that this is my opinion, so if Brock is your favorite wrestler and can’t handle me criticizing him, then this probably isn’t for you. That being said, what even is the Brock Lesnar Problem? It’s the fact that despite 12 years in total in this business his wrestling ability if anything has diminished, he’s World Champion and hardly defends it, much less show up for work. And he’s paid way too much money for not doing his job. That being said, now we can dive in.
March 28, 2002. A triple threat match between Al Snow, Maven, and Spike Dudley took place on Raw, for no real reason besides being a filler. At least, that’s what everyone thought. Halfway through the match, Brock Lesnar made his debut, brutalizing all three men in a way we’d soon learn only Brock Lesnar can. Accompanied by Paul Heyman, Brock practically came out of nowhere, having spent two years in WWE’s developmental territory OVW, but actually previously known as a NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Champion. (“Real” wrestling). Brock would go on to be one of the fastest rising stars in WWE, winning the 2002 King of the Ring and beating The Rock to become WWE Champion within five months of his debut. He would win the title two more times after that, beating the likes of Kurt Angle for his second and third titles. Now this Brock Lesnar was entertaining. His wrestling style was unique, his finisher was devastating, he had a ton of great matches, the company was behind him; so what happened? Well, in my opinion, it all started at Wrestlemania XIX, and that Shooting Star Press.
If you’re a wrestling fan, you know what I’m talking about. If you’re not, then I’m impressed you’ve read this far. Basically what happened was during Kurt Angle and Brock’s match at Wrestlemania, Brock attempted to perform his old OVW finisher, a shooting star press. Now I’m including a picture of Brock with this piece, and I want you to tell me why that was an awful idea. Brock fell about six inches short, landed right on his face, and concussed himself. Brock finished the match, because it’s Brock and he doesn’t feel pain like people do, and won. However, this was the first time Brock was severely injured, and I think that’s when he realized he didn’t like that very much. We never saw him attempt the move ever again, and we saw him protect himself a lot more from then on. However, Brock couldn’t stop being rough and tough on his co workers, that would defeat the purpose of his whole character, but his refusal to take as much as he gave was the beginning of Brock’s… condition. Brock’s who is now getting larger, and his boredom with wrestling suffers because of it.
After losing his third WWE Championship to Eddie Guerrero thanks to help from Goldberg, Brock began feuding with the WCW legend. Note that now Brock had become bored with WWE, he’s already won the world title, King of the Ring, main evented Wrestlemania, and won the Royal Rumble (the four biggest accomplishments in WWE at the time, three of them still being so), and anything else seemed lesser to him. So a match between Goldberg and Brock was set for Wrestlemania XX. It had all the makings of a history maker, two of the most dominant performers in wrestling history squaring off, with special guest referee Stone Cold Steve Austin. But then it was released Goldberg was retiring. And then it was leaked that Brock was leaving as well. For eleven years, that match was possible the most hated Wrestlemania match in history, fans booing both men for “selling out”. They both left, and Brock moved on to things like the NFL, where he never got to play. Then he  returned to wrestling, and became one of the few Americans to win the IGWP Heavyweight Championship at New-Japan Pro Wrestling. He also squared off with his old rival Kurt Angle, who defeated him for said title. Brock Lesnar once again retired from wrestling, and made his way to UFC and won the heavyweight title there.
Fast forward to 2012. John Cena lost to The Rock at Wrestlemania XXVIII. And Brock Lesnar returns, dropping the leader of the Cenation and making a resounding return to WWE. Vince asked Brock to come back, Brock now somehow becoming a bigger draw than he was before, and being more dominant than ever. Something was different now though. He didn’t show up as often. Brock’s moveset, while limited, was entertaining, and he didn’t wrestle enough for people to notice. He had some decent matches with Triple H, John Cena, and CM Punk, but all we really wanted was to watch him beat people up the way only he could. Now the problem has increased. Brock is getting paid more for less work, and he knows it. He’s a big name, and he knows he gets paid no matter what. Slowly, Brock starts getting lazier. And this climaxes at Wrestlemania XXX, when Brock beats The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at The Showcase of the Immortals. Brock now realizes that he is one of the most high profile names in wrestling. And he abuses the absolute shit out of it. Several months later at Summerslam, Brock beats John Cena in one of the most one sided main events in WWE history, delivering a cringe inducing sixteen german suplexes to John, who got practically no offense in. I’ll admit when this happened, I was hyped, and so were a lot of other people. Brock was champion, which meant we’d get to see Brock kick ass all the time. At least, that’s what we thought. But then Brock didn’t show up four five fucking months! If you’re champion, then you need to defend said championship, not disappear with it for months at a time.
But we were saved at Wrestlemania 31, when Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to beat Brock and Roman Reigns for the title. Brock disappeared for awhile after that, and we soon forgot about his poor excuse of a title reign. Brock began feuding with The Undertaker in a really fun rivalry, he entered the Royal Rumble but lost, it was really fun to watch. It’s Wrestlemania time again, and we know Brock has got a spot on the card. And it’s in a street fight, with Dean Ambrose. Everyone was so excited for this match, Dean was getting these weapons from WWE legends, Brock was beating Dean up as much as he could but Dean kept getting back up, this match had all the potential to be Match of the Year. But then it fully set in: Brock’s laziness. The match was a bore to watch, hardly any weapons were used and it was disappointingly short, much to the dismay of fans. Brock stuck to two moves, the F-5 and the german suplex. To this day it’s the only two moves he knows. On the Stone Cold podcast, Dean declared that the reason the match failed was because Brock, and I quote: “had no desire to entertain, I had all these great ideas and I was met with laziness.” The interview spread like wildfire, and more wrestlers voiced their displeasure with Brock and how unfairly they were treated compared to him. Brock disappeared again however, and soon we forgot about the whole thing. Note that in my opinion, this next stretch in Brock’s career nothing really eventful happens, he beats Mark Hunt in a one off UFC match but it gets overturned because he failed a drug test, faced Randy Orton at Summerslam and damn near killed the man after splitting his head open.
We are now at Survivor Series 2016, and it’s the rematch of the century. Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar. Goldberg hadn’t wrestled in twelve years, the last time he did was when he beat Brock, did he still have it? The answer we soon learned, was no. These men had three encounters from 2016 to 2017, and each match was slightly more disappointing and sub par than the last. First Goldberg beats Brock in a minute and twenty-six seconds, which is forgivable because holy crap someone squashed Brock and also the first time he’s been pinned in three years. Then Goldberg eliminates Brock from the 2017 Royal Rumble in a couple of seconds, for no real reason. Then it climaxes at Wrestlemania, this time for the WWE Universal Championship. I think it’s safe to say that nobody was really looking forward to this match. Goldberg made it clear he only remembered his two finishers, and Brock’s laziness and WWE’s refusal to have him show up was well known. The match was several minutes of the old men tossing each other aropund and hitting their finishers, with Brock winning the title.
And we now have the Brock Lesnar problem at its worst. Brock hardly shows up to defend the title, and when he does, we’re promised absolute dream matches. Brock vs Braun Strowman, Brock vs Samoa Joe, and every time it’s the same thing. Paul Heyman hypes up Brock for three weeks, Brock finally shows up to brawl with his opponent, and the match is just a couple minutes of Brock hitting suplexes and his finisher, and then disappearing again. It’s been over a year now, and this hasn’t changed. Brock demands so much for just an appearance, and everytime WWE seems to stop tolerating his shitty behavior and unreasonable demands in his contract, he threatens to leave the company. Vince doesn’t want to lose his big draw, so he renews Brock’s contract. But what is the point of having a big draw if he only shows up a couple times a year, and wrestles even less? Just last Monday, Seth Rollins defended the Intercontinental Championship more times in a month than Brock has even wrestled the past year.
So how do we fix the issue? I personally see two options. The first one is have Brock lose the title and just have him wrestle in some high profile matches throughout the year. This keeps Brock’s pay high and lets Vince keep his ‘big draw.’ However, it doesn’t change the fact that Brock A, can’t wrestle for crap, and B, is just downright lazy. Not to mention his ego is going to tell him that if he’s not champion, he’s wasting his time. So in my opinion, the better option is to cut the company’s losses, and let Brock go. He has absolutely zero passion for the company or the fans, he’s lazy and mediocre in the ring (and that’s being generous in my opinion.), and he just doesn’t bring anything really special to the company besides a few extra dollars, but how much are they really making when Brock asks so much for an appearance? I mean if you kept pushing guys like Seth, or Finn Balor, or even Braun Strowman, they will bring just as much, if not more than Lesnar. Because this will only get worse the longer it goes, and if this doesn’t change, the demands will get crazier and we’ll be lucky to see Brock or the Universal Championship ever again. And that my friends is the Brock Lesnar problem.

Venom #150: Here’s How The Lethal Protector Hit That Milestone
Following the announcement of the upcoming release of “Venom” #150 back in December, Marvel has revealed that the current “Venom” ongoing series from Mike Costa and Gerardo Sandoval will retain the legacy numbering and continue ahead with the release of issue #151 in July. May’s 150th issue will follow the release of “Venom” #6 in April, an issue that will see the return of original Venom Eddie Brock to the title role.
In an interview with IGN about the upcoming anniversary issue, editor Devin Lewis spoke to how current Venom Lee Price will fit in with the larger Venom mythos.
“The story featuring Lee Price is only a chapter in the symbiote’s ongoing saga,” said Devin. “I love Lee – especially the tactical sensibility [writer] Mike [Costa] has given him, the awareness of where all the pieces are on the board at any given moment. He operates with intelligence, and thinks about things before he does them. That tempered and measured approach is something I love in the character, and it’s the kind of thing that could really turn Lee into a great villain for the larger Marvel Universe.”
“Venom” #150’s main story will star Eddie Brock, reunited with the Venom symbiote in a story written by Costa and illustrated by Tradd Moore. A backup from writer Robbie Thompson and regular “Venom” artist Gerardo Sandoval will reveal how previous symbiote-carrier Flash Thompson parted ways with the Venom persona ahead of Lee Price’s stint; Thompson previously wrote the “Venom: Space Knight” ongoing. Another back-up will come from David Michelinie and Ron Lim, the creative team behind Venom’s first ever limited series (1993’s “Lethal Protector”). Their story will be set in-between the pages of that “Venom” classic.

If you’re curious as to how “Venom” hit its milestone 150th issue despite only having a handful of ongoing series published in the past 15 years, we solved the mystery. What many people might not realize is that Venom basically had an ongoing series published quasi-monthly from 1993 to 1997. Instead of all being unified under one “Venom” title, those 60 issues were published across 19 different limited series, one-shots, specials and graphic novels. Here’s how the first 149 issues of “Venom” break down:
“Venom: Lethal Protector” (1993): 6 issues
“Venom: Deathtrap – The Vault” (1993): 1
“Venom: Funeral Pyre” (1993): 3
“Venom: The Madness” (1993): 3
“Venom: The Enemy Within” (1994): 3
“Venom: The Mace” (1994): 3
“Venom: Nights of Vengeance” (1994): 4
“Venom: Carnage Unleashed” (1995): 4
“Venom Super Special” (1995): 1
“Venom: Sinner Takes All” (1995): 5
“Venom: Separation Anxiety” (1995): 4
“Venom: Along Came A Spider” (1996): 4
“Venom: The Hunted” (1996): 3
“Venom: The Hunger” (1996): 4
“Venom: On Trial” (1997): 3
“Venom: License to Kill” (1997): 3
“Venom: Seed of Darkness” (1997): 1
“Venom: Sign of the Boss” (1997): 2
“Venom: The Finale” (1997): 3
“Venom” (2003): 18
“Venom: Dark Origin” (2008): 5
“Venom” (2011): 47

Spider-Man, Venom & the Sad, Sad Story of Eddie Brock
Marvel Comics recently announced that Eddie Brock, the original man beneath the evil symbiote, will be returning in this April’s “Venom” #6. With such a momentous occasion, we felt it only appropriate to take a look at the history of Eddie Brock, which is sadly a pretty bleak history when all is said and done.
RELATED: Eddie Brock Returns in Venom #6
Eddie Brock debuted in the classic “Amazing Spider-Man” #300 by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane, where he confronted Spider-Man and revealed just who he was and why he had bonded with the alien symbiote that Spider-Man had brought to Earth from “Secret Wars” but had then had broken away from with help from the Fantastic Four and the symbiotes weakness to flames and sonic weapons.
Eddie, you see, was a successful columnist for the Daily Globe, a rival newspaper to the Daily Bugle. He wrote a series of very popular columns about the serial killer known as the Sin-Eater. The series gained so much attention that he was contacted by the Sin-Eater himself! Or at least, a man named Emil Gregg, who claimed to be the Sin-Eater. He gave Eddie a series of interviews. They became a media sensation, but Eddie was hounded by the authorities to turn over the identity of the Sin-Eater. He refused, until finally, in one sensational story that was on the front page of the Globe, he revealed to the world the identity of the Sin-Eater!
The problem, though, was that Emil Gregg was not the Sin-Eater! Police detective Stan Carter was. When Spider-Man defeated the real Sin-Eater and unmasked him, Brock’s career was ruined. He was fired from the Globe. Brock’s mother died in childbirth, and his father blamed him for it the rest of Eddie’s life. Eddie did everything he could to impress his father, but it never worked. So when he became an actual disgrace? It was too much for Eddie. He got work for some tabloids, but his life was in a spiral. His new obsessive hatred for Spider-Man also led to his wife divorcing him. Eddie began working out heavily at this time, transforming his body into basically a bodybuilder, but further separating him from his past. The pain was so much that he went from church to church trying to figure out a way to kill himself that wouldn’t violate his Roman Catholic beliefs. While at one church, the symbiote was hiding there (following a confrontation with Spider-Man in “Web of Spider-Man” #1 after it escaped from the Fantastic Four) and when it learned that Brock hated Spider-Man, as well, it bonded with Brock and they formed Venom! Since the symbiote had bonded with Spider-Man, it knew his secret identity, so now Venom did, as well. Spider-Man barely defeated him by forcing him to use up too much of his webbing.

Venom only appeared in two stories during McFarlane’s “Amazing Spider-Man” run, with him escaping from custody in “Amazing Spider-Man” #315 (by Michelinie and McFarlane) in a story that showed a disturbing aspect of Brock. He believed in protecting innocents, but he still had to kill sometimes, so he would really mourn the people he killed. He was truly broken as a person, as he believed he was doing good.
Brock’s desire to protect innocents (which Spider-Man, of course, was not), led to a bold gambit by Marvel. You see, after McFarlane’s run, Venom appeared in a very popular arc in the Erik Larsen stint as artist that followed. This was during the early 1990s when comics were selling millions. Venom was extremely popular, so Marvel wanted to cash in on that popularity. However, he was still a villain, so they felt kind of weird making him a feature character. But in “Amazing Spider-Man” #361 (by David Michelinie, Mark Bagley and Randy Emberlin), they introduced the spawn of the Venom symbiote, who merged with a serial killer named Cletus Kasady. The merged being called itself Carnage, and unlike Venom, it killed indiscriminately.
This was very important for Marvel as now they a villain to replace Venom, while Venom could become, in effect, an anti-hero, or, if you prefer, a “lethal protector.” This came to a head in “Amazing Spider-Man” #375 (by Michelinie, Bagley and Emberlin), where we first met Eddie’s ex-wife, Anne Weying. Brock had kidnapped Peter Parker’s parents (although he did not tell them that Peter was Spider-Man, as he wanted to protect their innocence) and Spider-Man, in turn, tracked down Anne so that she could try to reason with Eddie. When Silver Sable’s Wild Pack (who had been hired by J. Jonah Jameson) showed up to take Venom down, the battle knocked a tower over, which was going to crush Anne. Venom couldn’t stop it by himself, but then Spider-Man stepped in to aid him. This led to the famous Spider-Man/Venom truce of 1993. Venom would stop hunting Spider-Man, using his information about Spider-Man’s secret identity, and Spider-Man would not actively try to stop Venom (so long as Venom wasn’t going around killing people, of course).
Venom headed off for San Francisco, where he became a champion, of sorts, for the homeless population in that city. During his time there, he also spawned a few more symbiotes. Interestingly enough, almost immediately after finally leaving New York, Venom returned to fight alongside Spider-Man against Carnage in the crossover event, “Maximum Carnage,” where Spider-Man debated whether he had to adopt a more aggressive, Venom-like, approach to stop the evil Carnage and Carnage’s cronies. At a time when he was back in New York, Anne Weying ended up shot by a new Sin-Eater, so Brock makes the symbiote bond with Weying to heal her. After temporarily becoming She-Venom, Anne decided she wanted nothing to do with Brock or Venom ever again.
Likely spurred on by things like that, Brock began to question his relationship with the symbiote, but during the “Planet of the Symbiotes” crossover, he ended up having to fully commit to the symbiote, bonding permanently (well, as permanent as these things go) in “Web of Spider-Man Super Special #1 (by David Michelinie and Steve Lightle).
However, as the 1990s came to an end, Venom’s popularity had fallen a bit, enough so that Marvel decided that they could stop doing Venom series (neither of Marvel’s Editors-in-Chief of the decade, Tom DeFalco and Bob Harras, were fans of giving Venom his own series, which is why he only had a series of miniseries. They did not like the idea of giving a villain such a high profile). So there was a “Venom: Finale” book that ended with Eddie separated from the symbiote and with amnesia, and the character took a bit of a break.
When he returned in 2000 in the two relaunched “Spider-Man” titles, he fought Spider-Man a few times, but wasn’t really into it, not until “Amazing Spider-Man” #19 (by Howard Mackie, Erik Larsen and John Beatty), where Eddie tried to win Anne back, but Anne had locked herself up as she was afraid of the world and, most of all, the symbiote. Eddie forced her to open up her shades, and wouldn’t you know it, Spider-Man happened to swing by wearing the black costume (he was running low on costumes at the time). She freaked out and Eddie turned into Venom, which freaked her out even more. He didn’t notice that, of course, he just saw that Spider-Man upset her. When he returned, Anne had killed herself. Eddie blamed Spider-Man and the rivalry began again! It was cut short, though, when a villainous senator stole the symbiote.

It returned to Eddie later on. The next big change in Eddie’s life occurred in “Spectacular Spider-Man” #4 (by Paul Jenkins, Humberto Ramos and Wayne Faucher), when the symbiote was trying desperately to re-attach itself to Spider-Man. This was because, as Eddie revealed to Spider-Man, Eddie was dying of cancer!
The symbiote kept Eddie alive for a while, but finally, in “Marvel Knights: Spider-Man” #6 (by Mark Millar, Terry Dodson and Rachel Dodson), he decides to auction off the symbiote so that he just get on with the end of his life.
He made $100 million, which he gave to charity (the symbiote was purchased by a mobster, but it quickly dropped the son of the mobster and bonded with another Spider-Man villain, Mac Gargan, the Scorpion). Without the symbiote, Brock’s cancer got progressively worse, but since Brock was such a popular character in his heyday, writers seemed like they were hesitant to be the be the one who finally killed him off. So he would keep making guest appearances as he got sicker and sicker and sicker. He began to hallucinate that the Venom symbiote was still talking to him and at one point the hallucinations almost got him to kill Aunt May. At the end of that story, he does try to kill himself, but he fails.
He later went to work for a soup kitchen owned by Martin Li, who was secretly the criminal known as Mister Negative. Li’s magical powers cured Eddie of his cancer. What Eddie didn’t know is that Li cured him by sort of super-charging the white blood cells in his body. When Eddie got involved in a fight between Spider-Man and the then-current Venom, Mac Gargan, touching the venom symbiote kickstarted residual traces of the symbiote within himself and, combined with the almost magical effect Li had on him, Eddie created a white symbiote that was deadly for the original symbiote. He called himself, appropriately enough, Anti-Venom!
When Anti-Venom figured out that Li was a bad guy, it messed him up pretty good, since Li was his savior, after all. Plus, if Li was his savior and hewas evil, then did that make Anti-Venom evil? He ultimately figured out that it did not, and he teamed up with Spider-Man to take Mister Negative down (well, at least expose Martin Li as a villain).
However, soon afterwards, Eddie had to give up the Anti-Venom symbiote for it to be transformed into a serum that would cure everyone during “Spider-Island.”
As we have seen a lot of times over the years, Eddie is pretty easily rattled and very easy to use faith as an excuse for him to do some awful things. So now that he was sans-symbiote, he decided that it was his duty to kill all other symbiotes, as he determined that symbiotes were inherently evil. He showed up in the pages of Flash Thompson’s “Venom” series. While working his way up to Flash Thompson’s symbiote, he killed a few other symbiotes along the way.
Back in the last year or so of Eddie’s original time as Venom, a new symbiote shown up, that was spawned from Carnage. This symbiote was called Toxin and it bonded with a police officer. In the pages of “Venom,” Eddie was captured by the evil Crime Buster and forcibly bonded with the Toxin symbiote, which had been removed from its original host (tragically, the heroic host was killed in the process). This was not a pleasant experience for a man who had just devoted himself to destroying all symbiotes.
As Toxin, Eddie has most recently become part of a team of people hunting down Carnage in the pages of “Carnage.” Eddie has a little bit more control over the symbiote, and he appears a bit like how Flash Thompson did when Thompson was Agent: Venom.
In the history of comic books, characters tend to eventually revert to the most famous version of those characters. Eddie Brock is clearly the most famous version of Venom that there has been, but he has now been separated from the symbiote for over a decade. That’s a long time to keep from reverting to the original status quo, but it appears as though that time has come to an end. We don’t know if Eddie will be permanently bonding with Venom, though, so we still have to find out come April. If he does, though, we will see if it ends up with Eddie Brock being any happier than he has been in the past. It doesn’t seem particularly likely.
