#another funny realization from my book club stats#the 2 members i have had big crushes on in the past (and lowkey still do but theyre both in relationships and have been for like 10+ years#and also their partners are also in the book club and also my friends so it's not happening but nonetheless yknow crushes happen)#are officially the book club's highest average rater and lowest average rater#both of these girls will almost always be giving the best and worst ratings for any given book#this causes me to wonder like am i just attracted to dramatic personalities#i definitely find it funny/endearing the way both of them act and enjoy that they're quite easy to read most of the time#it reminds me of those red/blue anime dynamics hahaha there's something to that maybe#theyd be the red and id be the blue#also their partners are def blue-coded as well#also these 2 crushes of mine were officially the book club members with the least compatibility out of us all in how they rate things#with each other i mean#which makes sense i suppose given that they take up the highest and lowest spots#i somehow also matched as the no. 1 most compatible rater with BOTH of them on their lists as well#but the highest rater was my no. 1 on my own list. we had the best compatibility of everybody in the group#(i was the second highest average rater of us all in the club)#p

was talking with a friend about how some of dunmeshi fаndom misunderstands kabru's initial feelings towards laios.
to sum up kabru's situation via a self-contained modernized metaphor:
kabru is like a guy who lost his entire family in a highly traumatic car accident. years later he joins a discord server and takes note of laios, another server member who seems interesting, so they start chatting. then laios reveals his special interest and favorite movie of all time is David Cronenberg's Crash (1996), and invites kabru to go watch a demolition derby with him

edit: i gotta clarify that the shows do indeed still have to have actual queer characters in them to count
#our flag means death#and yeah i'll say#the owl house#not just in the fact they are stuffed to the brim with queer characters#or their stories of self-transformation into who you truly are#or even that they're about outsiders finding community amongst each other#though those things certainly factor#it's that the queerness cannot be disentangled from the story without costing complexity#luz has to be neurodivergent and queer. if she wasn't the story would be about someone else#am i making sense? is this microphone on?#a couple others of note are#killing eve#renegade nell#and star trek#which cannot be made straight despite best efforts#conversely heartstopper and first kill are not queer. but that's another essay.
