HOUSEWARDENS X READER
Where you are mute PART 2
How would the housewardens act towards you if you were mute?
kalim, idia, vil and malleus.
Part one with riddle, leona, azul is on my profile <3
Kalim Al-Asim
For Kalim, the fact that you're mute doesn't change how much he enjoys being with you.
If there's anyone who's never had any prejudices about how people communicate, it's him.
From the very beginning, he treats you with the same warmth and enthusiasm as anyone else.
His reaction to learning that you can't speak is more curiosity than concern.
"That's amazing! So how do you communicate? Do you have a special method? Teach me, I want to learn!"
He's not immediately good at sign language because he's a bit slow with memory :( but that doesn't stop him from trying his best.
If you use another method, like writing or using expressions, Kalim adapts quickly because he's already someone who is very guided by emotions and gestures.
Something he loves about you is that, even though you don't speak, you express so much with your eyes and your smile. He finds it beautiful how your face conveys so much without words.
When he's really excited, he forgets that you can't answer him right away and talks nonstop, but as soon as he notices you need a moment to type or respond with signs, he waits patiently with a big smile.
"Oh, sorry! I got too excited again, didn't I? Hehe, it's okay! Take your time, I want to know what you think."
Because he's so expressive, it's easy for you to understand him without him having to say much.
Sometimes just by looking at him, you know exactly what he's feeling, and that makes him even more attached to you.
If someone makes an insensitive comment about your muteness, Kalim flies into a rage. He's not the type to get angry easily, but if someone disrespects you, you can see the serious glint in his eyes as he says,
"Don't ever talk like that again."
Overall, Kalim is the type of person who loves and understands beyond words, and being with you is proof of that.
Idia Shroud
When Idia finds out you're mute, his first thought is like
“Great! I don't have to worry about talking out loud all the time-”
It's not that it bothers him when people talk, but he's someone who hates forced social interactions and finds it stressful to have to respond constantly.
However, when he starts getting closer to you, he realizes something important: it's not that you don't talk, it's that you have a different way of communicating. And that intrigues him more than he thought.
If you use sign language, Idia feels clumsy trying to learn it.
His fingers are fast for games, but when he tries to sign, it feels like he's casting a weird spell with his fingers.
“Ugh, this is harder than learning to program in five different languages…”
But if you use a device to type or communicate in other ways, he feels much more comfortable.
He programs a personalized app that helps you type responses faster, or even a voice synthesizer if you ever need it.
At first, he gets nervous trying to interpret your expressions, but after spending so much time with you, he begins to understand you with just a glance.
"Hey, hey, … in this new game, there's a character who communicates without speaking, just like you! Want to see it? I'm sure you'll love it."
If someone ever makes a hurtful comment about your muteness, Idia first goes pale with fright, then red with fury, and then hacks their devices to play a cruel prank on them
No one messes with his special someone and gets away with it :>
He may not say it out loud, but Idia truly loves how you communicate without words. After all, the best connections don't always require sound.
Vil Schoenheit
Vil has always believed that elegance isn't just about appearance, but also about the way a person communicates and expresses themselves.
When he meets you and discovers you're mute, his first impression is fascination.
“How interesting… You speak without words. It's a unique and beautiful form of expression.”
If you use sign language, Vil learns it without difficulty. He has an excellent memory and is a perfectionist, so he masters it quickly.
If you communicate in other ways, such as with expressions or writing, he watches closely. He becomes adept at interpreting your emotions with just a glance.
He loves the way you convey so much with so little. Sometimes, when others are filling the air with unnecessary words, he looks at you and feels that the connection you have is purer and more genuine than any empty conversation.
When you're in public with him, he doesn't let anyone make you feel inferior for not speaking up.
If someone tries to belittle you, a single glance from him is enough to make them immediately shut up.
“You don't need words to prove your worth. Your presence speaks volumes.”
Malleus Draconia
For Malleus, the fact that you are mute is neither strange nor worrisome.
He himself has spent centuries surrounded by awkward silences and conversations filled with empty formalities.
In comparison, your presence is refreshing.
From the beginning, he takes a genuine interest in how you communicate.
If you use sign language, he learns quickly, and whether you prefer to write or use gestures, he adapts seamlessly.
He isn't someone who needs words to understand you. Over time, he develops a special sensitivity to your body language, to the point where he sometimes asks you something and, before you answer, he already knows the answer just by looking at you.
"You don't need to explain anything. I can see the answer in your eyes."
He loves the reassurance you bring. In a world where people always fear him or treat him with extreme formality, the fact that you can communicate without words gives him a special kind of intimacy he's never experienced before.
When you go for a walk together at night, the silence between you isn't awkward.
Sometimes he simply sits beside you and enjoys the feeling of company without needing to speak.
If anyone dares to belittle you or mock your muteness, his dark presence becomes crushing. Suddenly lightning illuminates the sky man, and his gaze turns icy.
"You dare disrespect someone so precious to me? How insolent."
He's a prince, but to you, he's just Malleus, someone who understands you beyond words.

The two of them stare at Jimmy, who opens and closes his moth like a, well... like a fish.
"N- no."
"No?" Pix challenged. "But-"
“No I’m not, right?" He shrinks in on himself, no longer meeting their eyes. "The Codlands doesn’t exist anymore. I don’t steward the land, I've lost my connection to it. So no, I'm not an Emperor.”
The air goes quiet. Even without knowing what kingdoms made up the old empire, she of course knows how they fell. She knows about The Rapture. A miles-wide nuclear explosion at the heart of the continent, the kingdom it was detonated in leveled to the ground in seconds. Outwards the shock wave spread, shattering the earth in all directions. The ground gave way to chasms, molten rock erupted from the core, and the rivers and ocean receded. Crops burnt, buildings toppled, the sky was blotted in ash, and the Kingdoms of the Old Continent, only having started to recover from blight, fell one by one to pestilence and ruin.
She knows about The Rapture, everyone does. Even those who didn't pay attention in history class usually tuned in for this chapter. If not for the destruction, then for how it started. Following the imprisonment of a demonic threat to all the land, a ceasefire between two warring nations is cautiously left instated. One nation is a center of industry, powered by smoke and redstone and led by a genius inventor. The other a small seaside kingdom, their leader a punching bag with little power over the fate of his nation. The underdog leader meets in his enemy's capital, hoping to establish peace after decades of war. The inventor agrees, enthusiastic to stop the fighting. After much discussion and debate, the two are seemingly ready to finalize the decision. In an act of trust, the inventor leads the underdog into the heart of his city, where an impossible reactor pulses with the energy to power the whole of the nation. The doors close behind the two and... only minutes pass before it all ends.
She knows about The Rapture. Twelve whole nations brought to ruin, all because of the cowardly Seaside King who wanted just once to be the sole arbiter of fate.
Wait a minute.
Tumblr media
Shelby takes a step back, the tension making it feel like she's walking on a wire. There's no way, right? She didn't just have tea with the man who caused the apocalypse? Pix watches her connect the dots in her head and follows her suit, stepping away from the fish man.
"No, you're not an emperor anymore. None of your fellow emperors were in power for long after that day. The Rapture ended your era in minutes. The Old Continent was devastated. And before us, Shelby, is the very man who pushed the button."
She watches Pix take another step back, eyes focused on The Codfather. His left hand slowly reaches behind his back, hiding a splash potion being pulled from his inventory. His right hand at his side, but readied to reach for the sword in his inventory. Oh no. She turns back to Jimmy. He's bristling, shoulders heaving with heavy breaths. Oh no.
This just got very dangerous, didn't it. Pix is speaking to her in a low voice now, and she can hear the fear he'd been suppressing.
"Get ready to cast something or run."
Shelby tries to think of what she could do, what she should do. Things were moving too fast. Her stomach starts to go sour. Pix has quickly raises his voice again, shouting now. "Why did you do it? Why did you destroy all you had, just for the chance to feel power beyond your fellow rulers?”
In a split second, a lot of things happen. The Codfather, now shaking, makes a sudden move towards them. Pix launches the fizzing potion and jumps back, preparing for the worst. And Shelby, in a moment of pure stress, pulls out her wand and casts the first spell she can think of. Two bubbles, shimmering iridescent, form around both The Codfather and her and Pix. The thin glass of the potion shatters against the opposing bubble's outer edge, dull purple vapors dissipating harmlessly. The two stop and stare at Jimmy, who'd fallen forward on his knees. It takes a second for them to realize. He's crying.
Shelby dissipates the spell. She takes a step forwards, despite Pix's nervous stare. One more step, then another, until she is crouched before the Ancient Cod King, tears making soft plaps upon the mud. He doesn't take notice, wide eyes staring at the dead air in front of him. His breaths are quick and shallow, with each one making his chest shudder. Oh no, this is bad for different reasons now. Quietly, cautiously, she starts talking.
"Hey Jimmy? This is Shelby, your friend. I need you to take a deep breath in, okay? Just one long breath"
It takes a moment, and she isn't sure Jimmy heard her at first, but the short shallow breaths are eventually replaced by a single, clumsy inhale.
"Good. Now try and breath out, slow and steady."
The exhale is wheezed out, snotty and gross. But calmer. They go through the exercise a few more times. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale, until the steady breaths no longer need instruction. Jimmy is still crying but his eyes have focused again, now looking at the ground beneath him. Shelby is suddenly aware of the freezing-cold mud soaking through the knees of her overalls. Jimmy gives a shaky breath.
"...I- I can't remember. Which one of us pressed that button? I didn't- I... neither of us wanted what..." His arms wrap around his head. "We thought we had really reached peace. That we were all headed for an age of prosperity.... that's all I wanted."
The two of them sit in silence, save for the soft pitter of tears and the buzzing of mayflies deeper in the swamp. There's a squelch of mud behind them as Pix walks over, a water bottle and towel in his hands. Jimmy takes the towel, tissue sized in his hand, and starts to wipe his face. Pix, unsure how to start, kneels into the mud as well.
"I'm... sorry how that happened. That must've been awful to live through. I... I suppose history isn't fair to those not there to write it."
He stops there. History remembering Jimmy as a monster isn't the issue at hand right now. Instead they let Jimmy cry as much as he needs to. Shelby thinks about it, how accidentally being involved in the ending of the world would feel. She thinks about the old ruins in the forest by her hometown, the ravines carved into the earth just outside the Witch's Academy's campus. She thinks about her blunder with her potions hut, how she had ended a tiny part of the world right there.
She thinks if she survived causing the apocalypse, she would crawl into a hole and sleep forever as well.
After a few minutes, the tears are all out of Jimmy's system. He sniffles, wiping his eyes with the towel one last time.
"M' sorry about that. I, um..."
"Hey, it's okay. You, uh, really seemed like you needed that cry, huh?" Shelby stands up, offering Jimmy her hand. He takes it, but gets up on his own since she's too short to offer leverage.
"I think... that's probably enough stress for today." Pix pulls out a shulker box, carefully packaging his books and papers now that he has ample time to. "How about we go someplace with a bit more room and a bit less mud? I'll be honest, I had Joel on stand-by in case things got too out of hand." He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. "I... I seriously thought there was no possible way it could be you, but I called Joel just to calm my nerves. I didn't want the situation to get dangerous." The shulker closes with a click.
"With that aside, Stratos should be spacious and comfy enough to accommodate you until we can build you a proper house. How's that sound?"
Joel's empire was, in fact, spacious and warm and much less muddy. And while the god was at first annoyed that "back-up" meant offering a room to the potential murderous fishman he was warned about, he soon determined the situation wasn't anything worth worrying about to him.
For the first night in many, many nights, Jimmy slept in a bed instead of a hole in the ground. And though he didn't let himself dream yet, he had to admit it was a lot more comfy up here.

Swamp Duo AU: Part 8
8/9 - (FIRST) (<PREV<) (>NEXT>) (AU MASTERPOST)
(Ao3 LINK)
"Well," Pix starts, shuffling the many books and papers bundled in his arms. Shelby quickly places a table of wood planks over the mud, upon which Pix hefts the academic mass onto with a heavy thump. Shaking the strain out of his arms, he carefully begins organizing them, setting most of the articles to the side. What remains in the center is a maroon colored tome, not especially thick but fitted with large pages. Imprinted on its cover, the words "Art of the Pre-Ruinous and Ruinous Eras: a Documentation of Historical Works."
"Shelby I’m not sure how much you know about the Old Continent’s empires. Where the northern region of the Seareach Peninsula is now, on its western coast. That is where the Codlands once was.”
“A kingdom built into the swamps and salt marshes, home to slime farmers and fishermen. Curiously, the majority of its citizens were not human, but are referred as cod in most documentation. There is evidence of massive aqueducts throughout the Codland’s capital through which aquatic life theoretically could traverse the city. It brings the question though, why would cod desire to build a governed kingdom, on land no less? And how could they have constructed it?”
“The answer, as hypothesized today, is that there was some kind of influence that drew the cod to that area. An offspring of an ancient leviathan, said to have walked out from the tide and built a kingdom upon the marshes. So if my suspicions are correct…" Shelby follows his gaze upwards, from the book's art onto Jimmy's pale face.
"Codfather, Emperor of the Codlands, one of 12 Emperors of the Old Continent. That's you, right?”

The two of them stare at Jimmy, who opens and closes his moth like a, well... like a fish.

𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘a brief rundown of you and paige's history
𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐒—singer!reader, angst (i guess), sexual innuendos, miscommunication, use of y/n (trust i'll get better at writing the summaries)
𝐏.𝐒. this is my original work, just copy and pasted off of my wattpad so if you see the name naiva anywhere that's why 💃🏾
Tumblr media
𝐘/𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐆𝐄 were the perfect couple. they met in y/n's first year at UConn which happened to be paige's second. they quickly found a friend in each other and it moved from there.
sometimes they bonded over music since naiva was friends with some of paige's favorite artists and because the blonde actually knew how to sing. a little.
other times they talked about basketball because it was a sport that ran in both of their families and y/n's younger cousin so badly wanted to go to uconn.
soon, their relationship developed from friends to girlfriends which was something a lot of people saw coming. they hung out so much it was a surprise that neither of their fan bases knew they were associated with each other.
the only thing connecting them in the public eye was y/n's cousin who ended up going to uconn like y/n said she wanted.
despite having two busy schedules, they worked out perfectly. until they didn't.
𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 summer around the corner, y/n found herself off campus a lot more. los angeles, houston, chicago- you name it. she wanted nothing more than a nice nap and cookies 'n cream ice cream. instead she was running around like a headless chicken.
"is there no a.c. in here?" valentina wilson, daughter of a retired nba player and one of y/n's best friends, questioned, fanning herself with a paper plate. her and y/n had just met in january and they were surprised they hadn't met earlier considering their girlfriends were best friends.
from the moment they did, they basically combined their trios into a friend group. "no deadass. i'm dying." she muttered. "it's just nerves, let's get you two seated." danny reassured, ushering the two girls away from the treat filled table and towards their seats where three other people sat.
"i'm seated in the back so i'll see you two in a little while." the ginger man didn't wait for their response before jogging towards his seat. "we should've stayed in connecticut." y/n muttered as a woman walked onto the stage.
"hey, congrats on the nominations." a girl spoke to her and valentina across from y/n. flashing a nervous smile, she said thank you as did val before going silent once the women began to speak.
"good evening everyone. thank you for joining us for our 24th annual women in arts award show. i'm your host candace stevens-." the woman continued speaking but y/n slightly drowned it out as her phone vibrated, indicating she had received a text.
a smile replaced the confused expression as she saw a text from her girlfriend. "i know you're not looking at those award predictions again." valentina spoke lowly once she saw the glare of light coming from the girl's phone.
"i'm not." she stated, turning the phone slightly so her friend could see that she was in fact texting paige. "in that case, i'd rather you be looking at award predictions. you can text her later, tell her you're busy right now!"
"okay, just let me respond to this last text." her fingers glided across the screen before she turned her phone off, placing it back in her lap.
but paige would be just as busy. she found herself at the WNBA draft about a month later alongside aubrey, azzi, and valentina. they were currently talking to someone who was actually thirty five despite looking far from it.
"no, paige up here tryna lie about her age!" aubrey laughed as she'd told the woman she was twenty six. "you heard her. we're just youngins." valentina shrugged. "you're the youngest out of all of us!" paige called out making the dancer wave her off.
"i'm gonna go find serenity." she spoke, mostly to azzi who nodded. "why? so you won't be the youngest one over here?" the blonde questioned. "alright peppa, calm it down." the three basketball players laughed as valentina walked away.
as they began to talk amongst themselves and to people around them, paige's phone dinged with a notification. she'd promised herself that she'd keep her phone up unless she was taking a photo or video or if it was absolutely necessary, so she spared her screen a quick glance to see who it was.
y/n's contact sat above the new message notification and the blonde found herself stuck on answering the message and letting it sit until they left the draft. silently, she turned her phone off before stuffing it into her purse. "are you not gonna text her back?" azzi questioned, making paige jump slightly.
"jesus, you scared me.
the curly haired girl didn't respond, only squinting as she waited for her friend's answer. "i was gonna text her when we leave from here." paige informed. "we're going to the after-party once we leave here." azzi reminded the girl who just nodded.
"well, she knows i'm busy. she'll understand." she stated. "it takes two seconds to let her know you're alive, p!" paige simply waved her friend off.
that's how most of their summer went. short moments whenever they were in the same city that lasted three hours max and hours- sometimes days- without contact. at times it felt weird to not be able to speak to one another, but they were two busy people with two completely different careers.
𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 was fine until the end of august. they were both still fairly busy but paige had took a free day to surprise y/n who had no clue. her day was spent with valentina at a dance studio which lasted hours.
after they'd finished their time there, y/n found herself helping val pack to go spend a couple days with azzi which took another hour of her time. earlier that day, paige had told y/n to call her when she got back to her hotel room and the girl told her it would be a little after six when she did.
it was well after eight when y/n stepped into the hotel room and to say she was excited to see her girlfriend would understatement of the year.
dropping her bags, she ran to the girl who now stood feet away. "paige!" she screamed happily, jumping onto the taller girl who was upset but nonetheless caught her. "hey babe." she answered monotonously, but y/n was so excited she barely noticed it.
"when'd you get he- are you okay?"
"honestly? no." paige spoke truthfully. "oh. what's wrong?" she asked as paige set her down before taking a step back. "you're what's wrong." she stated, but quickly regretted it when she saw the way y/n's face scrunched up.
"not like that. it's just- you were supposed to be here two hours ago and you haven't been answering my texts or calls." paige listed. "i'm sorry, but i didn't know you were coming and i was busy. i ended up having to stay an extra hour with val at the studio and then i helped her pack because she's going to visit azzi."
"you couldn't at least respond and let me know?" she retorted. "i didn't see you calling and it slipped my mind to let you know." y/n reasoned getting nothing but a scoff out of paige who moved towards the couch to grab her phone.
"paige, it's not that big of a deal. plus it's not like you haven't done the same thing before." she shrugged making her girlfriend laugh dryly. "really?"
"yes! there have been times where we didn't speak for days and now the one time i'm the cause of it, it's a problem?" she questioned. "well it's not like you made an effort to ever reach out!" paige exclaimed.
"because the one time i did, you still didn't respond!" y/n argued. "that was one time-" "what would be the point of trying again if nothing is gonna change paige?" she questioned.
neither of them could tell you how after a few more minutes of arguing and a few shed tears, they ended up tangled together in the soft sheets of the large hotel bed. paige's fingers ran through y/n's hair as they clinged to each other, refusing to let go because they knew what would come next.
"if that's how you feel then why are we even together?" paige shouted. "you know what? i don't fucking know." y/n responded, stepping closer to the girl who easily towered her even though she was average height. "right. i'm done y/n!"
"fan-fucking-tastic because i can't do this shit anymore!" the both of them spoke before the words could process in their brain. "this shit? you mean a fucking relationship?"
"no, i mean the constant neglect and distance whenever something doesn't go your way paige!" y/n corrected. "you do the same shit to me! anytime something goes slightly bad, you push me away."
words they spoke just two hours ago that they couldn't take back. y/n's wet tears hitting paige's chest was enough to snap her back to reality. "y/n/n. we gotta talk." she spoke up, her voice raspy which could've been from the silent crying she'd been doing minutes ago or the loud screaming from their previous activities.
the smaller girl glanced up at the other, "yeah." she said silently before moving off of the tall girl. as they sat up and turned towards each other, they knew what was next.
"i really don't wanna do this," paige started, looking down at her hands that were shaking ever so slightly you'd think she was shivering. "but, i think we should break up." in that moment, the blonde wished she could cut her own tongue off or turn back time.
everything in the moment felt unreal, but she knew it was once y/n nodded. "yeah. that seems best for the both of us right now." she spoke, although her mind was telling her to speak up on her actual thoughts. silently, paige nodded. "i should probably get going."
this time, y/n nodded even though she wanted nothing more than for her to stay. "i'll walk you out." she insisted. and with that, they silently got dressed before exiting the room.
the two of them reached the door quicker than anticipated, feeling overly awkward, fighting the urge to say text me when you get home and i'll call you tonight. "so, um-" "i love you." y/n blurted out quickly once the blonde went to speak.
paige sat quietly as she looked at her making y/n turn away from her, suddenly finding the coffee mug on the counter extremely interesting. "i love you too." she said breathlessly. those four words was all it took for naiva to start crying once again.
"'m sorry." paige muttered, feeling her own eyes start to water as she pulled the girl into a hug. nothing else mattered in that moment to them as they squeezed each other as if they'd slip away.
as if they had read each other's minds, a soft kiss was initiated by the both of them, lasting a few seconds too long to feel like closure. "i have to go, i'm sorry." paige stepped back from the teary eyed girl who felt like a heavy weight was on her shoulders, stopping her from reaching out to the girl.
instead she just nodded once again, watching as paige grabbed her phone and bag off the counter hurriedly and left, shutting the door gently behind her.
just two hours away was azzi and valentina who were having the time of their life despite it being the middle of the night. at the moment they were waiting for y/n to answer the phone so they could show her what they had just discovered- which was the fact that val was strong enough to put the basketball player on her shoulders.
"please, don't drop me." azzi called out for what felt like the hundredth time. "i'm not! have faith in me." y/n accepted the call after a few seconds, but valentina was too far back to notice her tear stained face. "look!" she smiled widely as azzi waved.
thankfully azzi was wearing her glasses for once so she could see their friend. "are you crying?" she questioned making valentina squint to see her friend was in fact in tears.
"oh my gosh, one second!" she called out, squatting down so her girlfriend could get off her shoulders before the two of them rushed over to the phone. "what's wrong, babe?" valentina questioned receiving a quick side eye from her girlfriend.
"babe?" azzi repeated. "i call everybody that!" she exclaimed looking over at the taller girl. "well find something else to call everybody!" valentina just shook her head, "the couch is sounding real comfortable. what's wrong y/n/n?" she asked again, looking over at azzi who smiled once she heard the girl call her by her actual nickname instead.
"we broke up." y/n spoke up, her voice faltering as she tried to speak as calm as possible. "who? you and paige?" the girl nodded as azzi's phone began to ring. "it's her." she spoke lowly although y/n could still hear her.
"why'd you guys break up? i thought things were going good!" valentina questioned as she moved a few feet away from azzi who was now in the same predicament as her.
"hey p." she answered, trying to sound normal. "we broke up azzi." the blonde spoke quickly, sniffling. "wait, what? why?" the girl responded if she didn't know. "we got in an argument- i regret it so bad, i don't know what to do."
valentina looked over at azzi who was already glancing at her. what was once a long night, turned into a long week, and they now were going on a month. their friends thought if only they weren't so damn stubborn. but they thought they should've just held each other while they still could.

ENA:DBBQ Speculation Megapost
OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS AHEAD Hyperfixation waxes and wanes over the ocean of interpretive works, and I once again find myself on the shores of a new captivation. Now, I'm not the type to listen to other's interpretations of things before forming my own thoughts. Perhaps this will be retreading old ground, perhaps there will be fresh takes. I just want to commit my thoughts to writing before I slide down the slippery slope of feature-length lore videos and whatnot.
So, where to begin on the subject of ENA: Dream BBQ Chapter 1? I think a good starting point would be...
1: The Title Character Herselves, ENA
Tumblr media
Right from the very first trailer, we could all tell: This ENA is different from the one we know from the webseries. Some say that this is a different ENA from before. Others suggest that perhaps something changed her. Maybe it's something in between. For the purposes of this post, I will be referring to this ENA as being her own individual, with no connection to the previous ENA until proven otherwise. The ENA of Dream BBQ will be simply be referred to as ENA. The ENA of the webseries will be referred to as "Ur-ENA"
Tumblr media
So, we have a salesperson with a bit of a short temper. But as we experience the world through her eyes, there are some questions that come to mind. The first of which is, "What is her job anyway?" Well, right off the bat, there's some troubling implications. She appears to be after a "Boss", who has gone into hiding, and whom ENA and Froggy refer to as their "Target". The obvious interpretation is that ENA is a contract killer of some sort. But... there is room for doubt.
Tumblr media
It was Froggy who first refers to The Boss as a "Work Target", very specifically using English words, that "wacky language" as he calls it. He may have coined this phrase without necessarily knowing the connotations of referring to a person as a "Target". This is brought up by Theodora the Genie, who asks ENA, "Do you even know the ingredients of that word salad?"
But, for reasons we'll get into later, it wouldn't be particularly surprising to anyone if ENA was hired to kill someone. Not after the incident.
Tumblr media
CHEESE AND RICE, ENA
As you talk to more and more people in the game, it becomes clear that this ENA is universally despised. Even a lot of the more agreeable characters tend to have some hint of resentment in their words when speaking to her.
This brings us to what appears to be the underlying theme of Dream BBQ: Sin and Forgiveness. ENA has evidentially committed some unspeakable act in the past, some great Sin that has made her known throughout all the worlds. As to the severity of this Sin? We get a hint when ENA first lays eyes on the Bathroom, a place that has been referred to as somewhere where Sins are absolved and Truth is revealed (seriously, two of the stalls have a damn confessional window between them).
Tumblr media
"A giant bathroom? Uggh... It's not enough for this many bodies. I hate myself."
This seems to be heavily implying that ENA was apparently responsible for a horrific massacre that occurred in the past. An act beyond any hope of redemption, hammered home by the conversation with Theodora if you actually make it to the Bathroom.
Tumblr media
When first speaking to Theodora, she mistakenly forgives ENA's Sins briefly, which immediately mends the gaping wound in her body. Whatever is going on with Human(?) ENA, it seems clear that the wound is representative of guilt rather than a literal physical injury. Ultimately, Theodora offers to fulfill one of ENA's Asperations, and you're presented with the only dialogue options offered in the current version of the game. You're given a list of choices, but you quickly learn that desires are never fulfilled, nor quenched. Any option that would immediately bring ENA peace is doomed to fail for one reason or another.
Tumblr media
Like the rest of them... Like the rest of them... A blissful life? No, that aspiration is beyond what ENA is capable of herself, and cannot be granted.
Eternal happiness? No, the natural order of things cannot be changed.
Frank's forgiveness? Refuted outright, in a way that implicitly says "You know perfectly well why you cannot have that." Punishing the Moon? No, the only one that deserves to be punished for being born is ENA herself. All that ENA can aspire to is to perform the task that she has been given. Nothing more. You leave with more questions than you entered with.
Despite all this, ENA carries on with an unwavering faith in G0D and destiny. Several of her interactions bring up matters of faith in a way that seems to... agitate people. Perhaps they see her penitent ways as a means to evade the consequences of her past actions. Perhaps they may even be right. Regardless, ENA seems to find comfort in the idea of an inevitable fate outside of her control.
Tumblr media
(And now for the super speculative part that has me going off of 'vibes' more than anything concrete.) As for her Sin, well, my personal interpretation is that the Incident occurred due to ENA being negligent rather than malicious. I could be way off, but the intense weight of her guilt feels like it comes from a 'personal failure', a mindset reflected in her extremely adamant work ethic.
When attending the Purge Event, even though it's for the sake of reaching the Bathroom, she seems completely devastated by the thought that she is on some level slacking off while on the job.
Tumblr media
Her limbs get tangled in gnarled branches emerging from her heart. In these moments, she is fighting against herself. Are the branches restraining her from performing her duties, representing her intrusive desire to lose her worries in the vore disco Purge Event? Or are the branches the opposite, her sense of responsibility unnaturally forcing her not to partake in any of the frivolity?
Honestly, it's too soon to tell exactly. Regardless of the specifics, my personal takeaway is that her work ethic probably stems from some disaster that she could have averted if she were more dutiful. Yet she is still at odds with herself, perhaps yearning to live her life in the carefree way that she (probably) used to. Anyway. That's my analysis/interpretation of ENA herself. But I'm not done with this post yet. We've barely touched the subject of...
2- The Genies of the Doors
Tumblr media
Beyond each Door lies a land governed by a Genie. In keeping with the 'digital' theming of the series, I've taken to calling each land beyond a Door a "Domain".
Beyond the Lonely Door is the Domain of the recluse Theodora.
Beyond the Crowd Door is Domain of the deviant Pierro.
And lastly, beyond the Horse Door lies the Domain of a fresh corpse.
Therein lies an interesting issue: Genies, while powerful granters of desires, can be killed. Not only that, but one person you can question at the start of the game has this to say: "No Pierro the Genie, no town." This implies that their existence somehow reshapes the world around them, fitting for such powerful entities. So... what does that imply about a Genie getting killed? The game branches twice in the first chapter. The first branching moment is whether to go to the Purge Event or to complete all the sidequests to unlock the Humanboard and ascend to the orb in the sky. These two branches end up leading to the same destination, the nexus outside the Bathroom. Here, the game branches a second time...
Tumblr media
If you fail to cross the river (or interact with the puking guy on the other side. fuck that guy he made me do even more runs.) you end up taking a roundabout path to your destination, and you ultimately find that Theodora, the Genie of the Lonely Door, has died at the bottom of what seems to be a well.
Tumblr media
But hang on... If you successfully cross the river and go directly to the Bathroom, Theodora is alive and well! In the well! So what gives?
Tumblr media
Well, after your meeting with her in either branch, the world begins to change. Places begin to lose their definition, becoming either distorted or changing into pure white geometry. Landmarks become clipart drifting in the air. Real estate investors swoop in on the newly freed up land. The Domain of Theodora is no more, and the Lonely Door is closing.
Many of the people are gone, replaced by familiar strangers.
Tumblr media
...I would like to take this moment to point out that the main theme song of the game, Anemoia, is a word meaning "Nostalgia for a time or place that one has never known."
Anyway, this inevitable loss of identity seems to imply that no matter which route you take, Theodora dies. Whether you're too early or too late, ENA doesn't find out who or what killed the genie. Between this and the murder of the unnamed third genie, there is some malicious entity just barely out of sight, slaying genies for unknown reasons. When considering what this could mean for the story down the line, I recall a certain line spoken by a certain goblin of a girl.
Tumblr media
"Rude entities like you get punished for the sins of others." Someone is maliciously reshaping the world. And if these acts are as disastrous as they seem, then ENA is in a prime position to take the fall in their stead. She's already known to have caused some kind of calamity, and she's attempting to seek audience with the genies as they're actively being killed off. Should we meet with Pierro in a later installment, I imagine that things will take a swift downturn from there. It's a shame we don't know anything about the third genie...
...or do we? *Vsauce theme*
3- The Shadow of Ur-ENA
Tumblr media
The connections between Dream BBQ and the webseries are few and nebulous... but they are there if you look in the right places. The Extinction Party is mentioned by one of the taxi driver's heads, and the location of that episode can be briefly spotted behind one of the doors of the Purge Event. The Domain beyond the Lonely Door starts morphing into the setting of Auction Day. But there's one point of connection that's been nagging at me... and it's pretty obtuse 🐬
youtube
Dialing a hidden phone number, we're met with Phindoll....'s answering machine. The message explains that he's looking for some kind of employment. Perhaps he suddenly lost his job? Who was he working for back when we saw him last? ...Oh, yeah. Runas. That wish-granting entity... on the other side of a... Door... ... The Great Runas might be fucking dead, guys.
We've now seen implications that this game takes place before Auction Day... but after Temptation Stairway. If linear causality has any role in this story, it's as a horrified onlooker.
Of course, this can be reconciled if Runas turns out to be the new genie that replaces the murdered one. But dialogue early in the game suggests that temporal shenanigans may be afoot. After all, the low-poly lady at the desk claims...
Tumblr media
"You are too late! The Boss isn't even born yet!"
She's... a very blunt, straightforward person. None of her other lines are nearly as ambiguous and confusing as this one, so I'm inclined to take this line at face value. We are in no position to be making assumptions about how concepts like time even work in this setting. So what does this all mean? ... ... I dunno. We only have chapter 1 to work off of, after all.
But if Runas was in fact the murdered Genie, then there is one suspect in particular that pops into my mind. Someone who has met Runas. Someone who was... unimpressed. Dissatisfied. And found herself trapped inside his domain for a long, long time.
Tumblr media
That's all for now. There's some glaring points in the story that I simply didn't have enough insight on to really remark upon. (Was that the Holy Code in the ending cutscene? What does ENA's body-hopping power entail? What was with the other ENA in the sewers, and who was she talking to?) Also at this point, my fingers are snapping in half from typing out all of these thoughts. A lot of this was just my personal interpretation, so don't be surprised if it clashes with the analysis of other people. In all likelihood, when the future chapters come out, I'll look back at this post and laugh at how dumb I was.

learning sign language so you can make inappropriate comments to spencer while at work and you sign “want to suck your cock” and spencer just looks at you all bewildered like “since when did you know ASL?”
dirty talking to spencer in ASL genre: sfw with sexual innuendos word count: 1,8k a/n: a lil something while i'm working on kinkfest :)
Spencer Reid is a man of many talents. People say — well, specifically, Spencer once told you that learning a new skill is easiest around the age of ten and how the process will be more difficult once you reach the age of eighteen. Something about neural connections forming rapidly, the unconscious system, the critical period… To be honest, you lost your focus the moment he mentioned the new skill he’d learned: sign language.
Spencer was excited to tell you about this new skill. He already knew a handful of languages, from Russian to Yoruba, but what appealed to him most about ASL was the hand motions. How he didn’t need to pronounce any of the words. You still chuckle to yourself when the memory of him pronouncing a Spanish sentence pops up in your head. How vividly you could picture Elle correcting him. There was nothing funny about him using ASL, though. In fact, you remember the way your throat tightened and your cheeks heated when his hands started moving — long fingers, decorated in veins, flexing into different symbols at a speed that other beginners would envy.
“That means ‘I love you, and that sweater looks pretty on you’.”
You had laughed. Had leaned in to press a soft kiss to his lips. “I love you,” you replied. A hot pink flush made its way onto his face, a shy smile tugging on his lips.
“Does this mean you’ll be speaking to me in sign now?”
Your comment was meant as mere teasing, but Spencer had taken it as a challenge. He’d made sure to at least communicate a couple of ASL sentences to you every day. You could imagine it being a good way of practice for him. For the both of you, actually. Because over time you started to recognize some of the movements. A sign you had mistaken as rock and roll before, you had now concluded meant I love you. A swipe of his hand over his face? Pretty. There were a few others you could recognize, but as the sentences grew longer and his signs faster, you gave up.
You had always assumed everything Spencer signed to you was something sweet. You’d smile, kiss him as a thank you, and forget about it, assuming he was complimenting you. That was until Derek caught Spencer in the act, signing something to you before the elevator doors closed in front of him, ready to head over to the lab for another case you were on.
“My man,” Derek chuckled heartily, shaking his head like he couldn’t believe what had just happened.
Your brows furrowed, the smile that had lingered on your face moments before dropping instantly. “What?”
He kept laughing, not noticing the clear confusion you were in.
“Derek!” you said, giving a soft punch to his arm to catch his attention.
“Oh, you don’t-” He raised an eyebrow, pointing to you and the closed elevator doors before laughing even harder.
“Stop it!” You cried, getting embarrassed by the scene you were causing in the middle of the bullpen. “What’s so funny?”
“Oh, pretty girl,” he started, taking a deep breath to recover, still grinning widely. “Pretty Boy over there should be getting the title of Dirty Boy from now on.”
Your mouth opened, then quickly closed when no words came out. “I don’t understand.”
Derek looked around the bullpen, finding no one near. Still, he leaned in, shielding his mouth with his hand as he recited Spencer’s words to you.
You gasp, hand clutching your chest dramatically as if starring in a soap opera. “He didn’t,” you say in full disbelief.
“Oh, yes he did,” Morgan smirked in full pride.
“How would you even know that?”
“My buddy works at a youth center. I teach the kids football from time to time. Some speak ASL.”
You scoff. “Kids have taught you these words?”
Derek shrugs. “What can I say? It’s the dirty words that are most fun to learn.”
-`♡´-
You had struggled to think of anything else after that encounter, your mind wandering to every possible naughty sentence when Spencer signed to you from then on. It was frustrating, really, how he must be gleaming knowing you had no clue what he was saying. As long as he knows that you’re also up for a challenge.
After work that day, you told Spencer you’d be home later, having to pick something up from a friend’s house. It wasn’t completely a lie — you had to pick something up, just from a different location. You parked your car in the parking lot in front of the public library, feeling like a criminal as you knocked on the glass doors. A woman in her late sixties greeted you, her kind beady eyes framed by thin glasses that hung low on her nose.
“You’re the one who called? From the FBI?”
You nodded, smiling. “Hi, yes, that’s me. I am so sorry to be bothering you at this hour, but we’ve got a killer on the loose, and it’s very urgent.”
The older woman cringed at the mention of a killer, muttering some words under her breath, and turned to grab an entire stack of books. You reached your hands out, accepting the heavy weight of the books, the title A Beginner’s Guide to ASL written on the top one.
Her hand trembled lightly as she tapped the front cover. “This one comes with a DVD.”
“Oh, that’s perfect. Thank you for your help.”
“You better catch that bastard!” You nodded confidently in response as you turned on your heel.
-`♡´-
Unfortunately, Spencer was right: learning a new language as an adult was far from easy. Especially with the lack of time you had because of working a demanding job. You had to make do with the rare free weekends and some late nights during the week to study as much as possible.
You were tucked underneath a blanket on the couch, laptop in your lap, as you were watching a YouTube video Derek had recommended: “Sign Dirty to Me: A Guide to Dirty Talk in Sign Language”.”
“The next sentence we’ll be learning is ‘I want to give you a blowjob’.”
“A what?”
You screeched, lifting yourself up on the couch at a speed that made the laptop fall on the ground with a thud. You mutter a string of curses as the video continues playing, using your foot to stomp the laptop shut.
“Jesus, Spencer, can’t you knock?”
You turn your body, spotting your boyfriend's tall figure leaning against the open bedroom door, an amused smile lingering on his lips. “I think you’ve forgotten that you’re in my house.”
You groan at his smug grin, trying to find an excuse.
“What were you watching anyway?” He asks in curiosity before you could explain.
“Nothing!”
He takes a stride toward you, and you scramble from the couch to grab the laptop, holding it tight in your arms as a safety measure. Spencer leans on the plush frame of the couch, appearing rather relaxed as a gleam sparkles in his eyes. “Don’t tell me you were watching-”
“No!” You exclaim in offense.
“I wouldn’t mind it if you were.”
“I was not watching anything.”
The content look doesn’t fade from his face. He looks rather pleased by the scene you’re making. The tips of his fingers brush against the bare skin of your arm. Those damn fingers. “I don’t mind, angel. I would just offer you my help instead.”
You swallowed. He was distracting you, and you were not going to fall for his dirty ploys yet again. No way.
“I’m good,” you squeak, hurriedly standing up from the couch. You point at him while your other hand clutches your laptop. “I will go to the bedroom now, and you will stay here. Don’t even think about moving an inch.”
Your words were only making you sound more suspicious, but you didn’t care. It would be worth it in the end.
-`♡´-
Two weeks had passed since you and Derek had exposed Spencer’s dirty, little secret. Two weeks in which you had spent all your free time learning ASL. You had been nervous all morning while getting ready for work, trying to resist the urge to sign something to him. But you wanted to do it in the bullpen; you needed to see him get flustered in a crowd.
Your fingers had been nervously tapping on your desk, eyeing Spencer at his desk opposite yours. You were waiting on Derek, who you had promised could be there for the “big moment”.
“Where are we going?” Penelope’s voice sounded through the bullpen as Derek grabbed her hand, pulling her toward the desks. You throw your hands up in frustration, it wasn’t the plan to make it that big of a show. “Are you kidding me?” You mouth toward Derek.
“Now,” he mouths back as he stays at a safe distance against the far wall.
Here we go.
A single kick to Spencer’s shin was enough to grab his attention. “Ouch! What did you do that for?”
Biting down on your lip to hide your smile, you began moving your fingers, a little exaggeratedly, to make sure he understood.
Look what new skill I learned.
Spencer beams, smiling brightly as the realization dawns upon him. “Hey! Since when did you know ASL?”
You don’t give him an answer right away, not wanting to get out of your flow, so you continue signing the variety of sentences you’ve learned, each one even dirtier than the last.
You knew you were doing a good job when a few snorts came from your right at certain words, Derek understanding what you were saying. Looking at Spencer confirmed it — his eyes stood wide open, red blotches of heat forming on his neck as his lips moved in a struggle to find the words.
Stop it. Right now. He eventually signed.
You grin, pride washing over you as you can understand him. This new method of communication truly opens up worlds.
But I mean it. You sign back.
He hides the small smile that forms on his face, tugging away a piece of hair before finding the courage to respond back to you.
What else would you like to do, then?
Penelope nudged Derek, looking puzzled. “What are they doing? Are they…? Oh my god, they’re trying to get in each other’s pants? Right in front of us?!”
Derek threw his head back laughing. “That’s right. They’re not so innocent anymore, huh?”
“But dirty talk is our thing!” Penelope protested.
Derek shakes his head. “I hate to break it to you, baby girl, but they’re outdoing us.”

okay so i'm the anon who first brought up memory wiping shifter!stan and i just need to ramble because this more canon-adjacent version of the timeline has been festering in my brain now.
- the stealing of ford's identity part is fun bc now stan can actually perfectly replicate his appearance, extra fingers and all. probably makes it into part of his gimmick at the shack (why does he need the shack if he has money in this au? idk man i haven't figured that out yet but he has it). that does create an issue when dipper finds the journal and brings it to stan bc of the finger thing, but stan just flat out denies any connection to it. he can't just confiscate the thing though bc that would be suspicious as fuck, so he spends a significant amount of time trying to get his hands on it to make copies without the kids noticing.
- he probably loses a bit of his shifting flexibility due to having a more permanent shift (he's at least less flexible than he was during his drifter days) but he still does some stretching down in the lab. i also imagine that when he's down there he uses his shifting as a way fidget/stim while he works. he also probably uses it to keep an eye on the kids a non-zero number of times.
- i'm imagining the reveal happening in scary-oke, similar to the canon reveal there. this is also when he can finally take the journal for a bit, using the excuse that dipper did something actively dangerous with it and this is the punishment. he still gives it back when he has his copies.
- looking over that journal he finds out about shifty and he is immediately staging a rescue
- ford probably finds out about stan's shifting when he comes out of the portal and stan has 6 fingers. it's... tense.
- i think if maurice is involved they probably know about the whole situation from investigating stan's fake death and/or stan just telling them bc if there's one person stan can trust with that information, it's probably them. stan continues to call them twice a year and they continue to pretend they aren't invested. maybe they can get in on freeing shifty.
i'm just!! foams at the mouth because i can't write for shit but oh man. oh god. this au is killing me
Shapeshifter Stan is so fun. I'll probably write the next (and maybe final) chapter when i'm done with the next cat Stan short.
More under the cut, because it got very long
Stan stealing Ford's identity is definitely him becoming Ford in a very literal sense, letting his original base form disappear forever at 17. Because he thinks Ford knows he's a shapeshifter, and he'll just seamlessly transition them once Ford gets home. I imagine it followed the original timeline with him showing up with his face covered, then quickly shifting to look like Ford with minor differences and revealing his face so he wasn't embarrassed about his baby face. He makes the shack to launder his own money so that it doesnt appear that Ford just got a million of dollars from nowhere, and because he doesn't want to continue his brother's research without him. So from an outside perspective Stanford Pines had a mental break, and started giving tours (just like canon lol). Stan makes everything fake, because he doesn't want to get on the bad side of any real supernatural creatures hanging around. As for the journal, I imagine Dipper runs up and shows it off, and Stan says its nonsense from when he 'went crazy in the eighties! nothing to worry about!' but he also can't take it without looking suspicious. Now the b plot becomes not 'who's the author' but 'what happened to Grunkle Stan that he forgot all his amazingly real research.' Stan still has to try and steal the book without notice, but can also shapeshift into the twins so its not an impossible mission, just very difficult.
Stan definitely becomes less flexible, but not terribly so. Limbs have always been his bread and butter, and he makes himself stronger and fireproof while working on the portal. Gives himself extra hands to multitask, the ability to climb better to reach the higher mechanics. The portal probably looks better the OG Stan's, just because he has more maneuverability. He also 100% spies on the kids in the 'hands-off' stalker raising technique he was raised with. Closes the Shack down and turns into people to follow the twins around and keep an eye on them.
In keeping with the 'no one realizes he's a shapeshifter until his mind is wiped' angst, the reveal is that he "did" write the books, but that they became dangerous, similar to Stan's 'this stuff is dangerous I'm not an idiot' speech. He still takes the journal to 'reminisce' but gives it back, saying that he knows the kids have been using it to keep themselves safe. Claims any lapse in memory as 'it was the eighties and I went through a rough patch and forgot a bunch of things'. Dipper thinks cult (blind eye that falls through) Mabel thinks mental break (official story but also wrong).
Now the question about Shifty is tricky, because Stan would want to rescue the poor kid his brother treated as a pet(Which is weird, because Ford knew about shapeshifters, but maybe he didnt realize they were the same species because he never saw the form Stan was born with), but I think it would happen after the bunker episode, so that the kids still get that shapeshifter experience. Stan goes down, sees poor Shifty is still a popsicle, and calls a bunch of his circle to help him out, as this is a special case. They'd probably come in, unfreeze him, then get him out of Gravity Falls and rehabilitate him in a more social Shifter group. Stan wouldn't use Fords form here, as he wouldnt want to cause a scene, but would explain that the man who sorta raised him isnt around anymore, and to try and find a new life out on the surface.
For the portal reunion, Stan explains he 'got an extra finger' and Ford brushes it off as a fake or medically transferred in a way too try-hard move of stealing his identity. Because Stan wouldn't look exactly like old man Ford, as he's had to guess how Ford's changed over the years, so his hairs still full grey and he looks slightly different. Ford 100% does not realize Stan's a shapeshifter at this time, but Stan doesnt realize that Ford doesnt know either, still making vague references to being a shapeshifter that aggravates Ford because he thinks Stan is being childish, then Stan thinks that because of Fords experience with Shifty that maybe he doesnt like Stan anymore in a big circle of miscommunication.
Maurice 100% knows whats going on (maybe not about the portal specifics, but enough) and only some of that is from Stan calling them. The rest is from his constant spying on Stan. So they know that Ford is missing in such a way that Stan is working on retrieving him, just not about Bill and the doomsday device in Stan's basement. Maurice does get his two or more phone calls a year and calls on birthdays. Probably also helped find a circle to adopt Shifty, since they're fairly well connected. There's a fifty-fifty chance Stan has a younger spawn-mate at this time as well, but they wouldn't come into the story more then "please let me talk to them, i want an actual shapeshifter sibling, please please please!"
EXTRA: Stan would not have any spawn at this point, because he'd be focused on the portal and getting Ford back. Maurice becomes the 'and when am i going to see you spawning? you have a very rare talent you might be able to pass onto future spawn.' parent, always nagging Stan about his lack of spawn, despite being 'very genetically desirable' (Their way of saying attractive lol, because of Stan's limb growing). The parent who demands grand kids basically.

Dear Diary, I have thoughts.
There's like four of us watching Secrets Happened on the litchi Island, so I'm really writing this post for myself, but I have to get this out before the finale (even though there is apparently special episodes until June).
I think it's going to be a happy ending solely because of this moment!
Tumblr media
Which I know it is wild to bank all my hopes on this two second moment at the end of episode six where someone simply removes a painting from a blue canvas, especially because it's a Chinese drama, but . . . I gotta stay clownin' or I'll dissolve into a muddle of tears. So since I'm basically talking to myself here, let me present my evidence to myself in the language I understand best — COLORS:
Tumblr media
The show is beautiful, but it's not really color coded. Yet episode three, titled "Night Fire Deep Sea" got me thinking.
Tumblr media
Because even though the show isn't color coded, the colors are still doing something.
Tumblr media
So . . . I think the one usually in red is fire.
Tumblr media
I had this theory when I was a wee toddler that the red character was gayer; therefore, he was the rebel because he was more passionate and wouldn't conform to the norms.
Tumblr media
And in this story, the red one knows he is gay and even hit his roommate when he called him a faggot. He is rule breaker and a fighter, yet rosemary was put into his hair to stop mosquitoes from biting him. It's ironic because the plant represents lust and love, and it was placed there by the other boy who wanted to protect him.
Tumblr media
The red usually knows first and, like fire, burns quickly, so the fire needs water because without it, the fire would burn everything to ash. The blue is usually the water because its love comes in waves, slow at first, but strong and deep enough to drown someone.
Tumblr media
So the one in blue is water.
Tumblr media
He does everything for everyone else because he never wants to cause distress. He is passive and kind. He is a rule follower and a caretaker.
Tumblr media
Episode three featured both the fire for roasting the dinner and the water from the pool and the rain, and it also featured both boys in red and blue during the painting scene that is connected to why I think this will be a happy ending.
Tumblr media
The red knows that he is falling in love with the blue, so he stays up all night and paints the black void with ripples cut into it. The blue wants to keep it. He thinks if he paints his walls red and hangs it, the painting will look like a night fire, but if it were hanging on a blue wall, it would be the deep sea.
Tumblr media
But it seems to bother the red that the blue tried to label it. He moves away from him. Then, the blue sees the red's discomfort and says the piece could be anything really and he shouldn't be trying to define it. This makes the red happy.
Tumblr media
Because it's about their love.
Tumblr media
They can be both the night fire and the deep sea, and in the next episode, they switch colors as they watch the sun rise instead of a sunset, which is symbolic of a new beginning. The red wears blue shorts, and the blue wears red shorts.
Tumblr media
But they don't have enough time left to explore this moment and are separated at the end of the summer, so when they do meet again the red begs the question of why he has to be gay while the other is straight.
Tumblr media
But he only thinks the blue is straight because red's brother told him that the blue had a long-term girlfriend, which is a lie, but the blue doesn't tell the red this.
Tumblr media
Instead, he runs even though the red is right there within in his grasp since he is now staying in the blue's apartment because he was kicked out of his dorm for hitting his roommate.
Tumblr media
The blue had a choice. Let the fire consume him. Be rebellious. Break the norms. Or remain blue. Follow the rules. Drown.
Tumblr media
He hadn't made a choice before, but once he realized how much he cared about the red, he got scared.
Tumblr media
And he picked blue.
Tumblr media
But, once again, why does everything have to be distinctly labeled? Why can't there be something besides being consumed by the raging fire or drowning in the deep sea? Why can't there be something more grounding? Something more peaceful? Why can't there be earth?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The red said in the green bathroom that their existence doesn't need to be explained as reasonable. They will exist, as they are, regardless of what they are defined as.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The woman who hires the red tells him it doesn't matter who he is that determines how good something will be. What matters is how much effort he puts into it. She tells him we need to cherish what is rare, and we shouldn't hate things because they are different but revel in their beauty because they are exceptional. And this woman with her red polka dots tells him even pain is a gift. But her ending message doesn't deter me because the greenery tells me that their love for each other will exist regardless if it is labeled or not. They know how they feel about each other, so they just need to cherish this rarity rather than trying to define it.
Tumblr media
And that's why I was thrilled when blue removed the black ripples from the deep sea painted canvas and imagined himself back in the countryside with his guy, in their colors.
Tumblr media
Because it came directly after the woman in pink told him to stop looking at society for answers when he only needs to look within himself. He is trying to figure out why the lychee aren't growing because he thinks something in the environment is causing the trees stress, but the conversation about a fruit that symbolizes love isn't just about the lychee. It's about him and his love. He gave the red his first lychee when they were there, and now they don't grow.
Tumblr media
So because of all of this, I think this shot from the trailer will be in the final episode with both boys back in their colors and the blue in front of a sign that reads "Why?" "Imagining your return" and "Not influenced by the environment" with rainbow air balloons and sunflowers, and even though I might be overthinking it, I want to believe it's meaningful. I want them to return to the green place that started it all and forget about the labels or society. I want them to remember that feeling and be at peace with each other. And more than anything, I want them to be together.
Tumblr media
Because the rosemary, the lychee, the colors, the fire, the water, the earth, the painting, the sunrise, and the signs have to mean something, right?
Tumblr media
So I'm praying they mean a happy ending.

whiskey-stained kisses 💋
Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis: a night out at the club was never really your scene, but when the chaos inside pushes you to step outside for a breather, you find yourself in an unexpected encounter with Yeonjun—a captivating stranger with a charming smile and a magnetic presence. what starts as a playful banter quickly escalates into something far more intense, leaving you breathless in more ways than one. as the night unfolds, you can’t help but wonder—was this fleeting connection just a passing spark, or the start of something you never saw coming?
pairings: choi yeonjun x fem reader (non-idol au)
tags/warnings: slightly suggestive themes!! strangers to ???, kissing, making out, mentions of smoking/vaping and alcohol, yeonjun is a tease and a flirt(when is he not tbh), reader is implied to be somewhat of a nerd(more on the intelligent aspect, not really a geek). they both want each other PERIOD. THIS IS NOT PROOFREAD!
a/n: icb it's been months since I last posted.... i miss seeing my moots and everyone's amazing works here :"))) i'm still working on the soobin fic i've had in my drafts for a while, but here's a short yj fic I made while brainstorming(I got distracted 💔)!! this was a lazy attempt, but I like it so I'm posting it anyway. lmk if I should make a part 2 for this!!
fic below the cut!!
---------------------
This wasn’t exactly what you had in mind when you reluctantly agreed to join your friends at the club. You needed a break from all the studying, but the loud music, flashing lights, and the tight crowd weren't exactly your idea of stress relief.
Still, you didn't want to disappoint them, especially when they were so eager to make it a great night for you.
At first, you tried to push through, but it wasn’t long before you felt completely suffocated by the chaos. After barely managing to escape the dance floor, thanks to your friends being too drunk to notice—you stepped outside, desperate for some fresh air.
Leaning against the wall on the street corner, you inhaled from your vape, savoring the cherry flavor, letting the cool night air calm you. But just as you were starting to relax, a voice broke the silence. You turned in surprise, spotting a guy nearby, leaning casually against the wall with a cigarette dangling from his fingers. His smoke mixed with the night air as he caught your gaze.
He was tall, with slightly messy black hair and sharp, almost fox-like features. He was dressed in a way that made your heart skip a beat—dangerously close to your type.
Your first thought?
Wow, he’s hot.
He seemed to notice your stare, offering a small, knowing smile.
You blink, still slightly dazed by his unexpected presence, but when he steps forward and offers a slight grin, you realize that maybe you're not as out of place as you thought.
He seems to notice the hesitation in your expression, and the corners of his lips twitch upward, as if he’s already caught on to something you haven’t quite figured out yet.
“Sorry, I didn't mean to creep you out,” he says, his voice soft but undeniably smooth. “The name's Yeonjun.”
You offer him a tentative smile, still catching your breath.“Oh, no, you're fine,” you say quickly, trying to brush off the awkwardness. “I’m y/n.”
Yeonjun nods, a little more relaxed now, his hands casually shoved in his jacket pockets. “Nice to meet you, y/n.” He gives you another grin, his eyes glinting with something playful. “So, you needed to get out of there, huh? You look like you're about to explode from the noise.”
You laugh lightly, shaking your head.“Yeah, pretty much. It's just... too much sometimes. I get that it’s supposed to be fun, but I can’t even hear my own thoughts in there.”
He chuckles, the sound easy and warm.
“I get that. It's like the music's so loud, it drowns out anything that matters.” His eyes flicker toward the club entrance before focusing back on you.
“So, what’s your story, y/n? I'm guessing you're the quiet type who’d rather study than be out here?”
You pause, then shrug. “More or less. I have exams coming up, and I thought maybe I could blow off some steam... but, uh, this isn't exactly what I had in mind.”
He nods knowingly. “Studying can be a pain. I get it.” He takes a deep drag from his cigarette and exhales slowly, watching you with an almost too-intent gaze.
“But sometimes, you just gotta be spontaneous, right? Life’s too short to keep your head buried in books all the time.”
Something about his words makes you feel a little lighter, a little more at ease. You take another hit from your vape, feeling the sweet cherry flavor coat your senses, and then glance back up at him, now genuinely curious.“So, you’re not a big fan of the club scene either, huh?”
Yeonjun tilts his head slightly, considering your question before shaking it with a small chuckle.
“Well, I wouldn’t say I dislike it,” he admits, shifting his weight against the wall. “I actually go every now and then, just for the vibes, I guess. It’s fun when you’re in the right mood.”
You raise an eyebrow at that, curiosity creeping into your expression.“Then why are you out here?”
His lips quirk into something that isn’t quite a smile, but not quite serious either. He exhales slowly before he speaks.
“Had a small argument with Beomgyu, but it's nothing serious, really.”
You feel a sudden tightness in your chest, the tension creeping into your muscles before you can stop it.
Beomgyu...?
You weren’t sure why, but finding out that Yeonjun had come here with someone made something unsettled stir inside you.
Yeonjun, however, notices the shift in your expression almost instantly. His eyes glint with something amused as he leans in just a little, voice dropping in playful amusement.
“Oh, and Beomgyu is a guy, by the way. He starts running his mouth when he gets drunk, and I didn’t have it in me to take any more of it, so I came out here for some fresh air.”
Your eyes widen slightly, caught off guard, but before you can even react, he’s already smirking.
“He’s my friend,” he continues, clearly enjoying your flustered expression.“and I'm used to it, we usually just end up talking again like it never happened.”
Your shoulders relax a little at his words, relief washing over you before you can even begin to question why you cared so much in the first place. You nod, brushing some hair behind your ear in an attempt to compose yourself.
“I see.” you mumble, feeling the heat creep up your neck.
Then, just when you think the moment has settled, Yeonjun grins—slow and teasing.
“I don’t have a girlfriend, if that’s what you’re getting at.”
You freeze for half a second, his words sinking in before the realization hits—and then, just like that, your face is burning.
“What?” you let out a nervous laugh, shaking your head quickly. “I wasn’t—I mean, that’s not—"
Yeonjun just chuckles, tilting his head as he watches you struggle.
You stop talking before you embarrass yourself any further, quickly bringing your vape to your lips in an attempt to recover. The familiar taste coats your tongue as you exhale slowly, trying to ignore the way Yeonjun’s gaze lingers on you, amused and expectant.
Then, out of nowhere, he blurts out,
“How about you, y/n? Don’t you have a boyfriend?”
The question comes so casually, so effortlessly, that it completely catches you off guard. Mid-exhale, you inhale sharply in surprise, causing the smoke to hit the wrong way. You cough violently, your eyes widening as you try to catch your breath.
Yeonjun bursts into laughter, his head tilting back slightly.“Damn,” he chuckles, watching you struggle.“Didn’t mean to almost kill you with that one.”
You glare at him between coughs, finally managing to clear your throat.“Please warn me next time before you drop something like that." you mutter, taking a deep breath to compose yourself.
He just smirks, clearly enjoying himself. “So?”
You roll your eyes but decide to answer honestly anyway. “No, I don’t have one. Not really looking for one either—I have a lot of stuff that I need to focus on. School stuff, to be exact.”
Yeonjun hums in acknowledgment, something unreadable flickering across his expression.
Then, just as you think the conversation is shifting, he mutters under his breath,
“Good. Just making sure I wasn’t getting into any more fights tonight.”
That catches your attention. You tilt your head, furrowing your brows as you try to make sense of his words.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Yeonjun hesitates for a moment, then lets out a small, almost sheepish chuckle.
“Nothing. Just… wouldn’t want to piss off some jealous boyfriend by talking to you like this, that’s all.”
You blink, feeling his words settling in, and suddenly, your heart skips a beat. The way he says it, so casual yet laced with something deeper makes warmth creep up your neck. You weren’t sure if he was just teasing again or if there was something more behind it.
“Are you usually this straightforward?” you ask, raising an eyebrow.
Yeonjun grins, leaning in slightly that makes your breath hitch.“Only when it's worth taking the risk.”
His confidence is infectious, and despite your attempts to resist it, you grin.
“Can’t say I’ve ever had a conversation like this with a stranger outside a club,” you admit, enjoying the playful tension hanging between you.
Yeonjun’s eyes glimmer with amusement as he inches closer, the proximity making your pulse race.“Maybe this was the kind of company you needed tonight.”
You hold his gaze, feeling something shift in the air between you—something unspoken yet undeniable. The cold night air brushes against your skin, but the warmth pooling in your chest drowns it out.
Then, his gaze travels down, lingering on your lips. Your breath catches as you follow his gaze. His eyes flicker up and return to yours for a moment before he leans in, slow and deliberate, pausing just enough to gauge your reaction. You inhale sharply at the closeness, your eyes darting away from his in a feeble attempt to collect yourself. But you don’t step back nor push him away.
From the corner of your eye, you see the ghost of a smirk on his lips before he dips even closer, his cheek grazing yours. His voice drops to a hushed whisper, sending a shiver down your spine.
“You're beautiful, y/n,” he murmurs, his breath warm against the tip of your ear.“Can I kiss you?”
The question lingers between you, thick with anticipation. Your body betrays you before your mind can catch up, instinctively leaning into him. Your heart pounds against your ribs, your skin burning under the close proximity.
Maybe he's right, you tell yourself. After being cooped up in your room reading through notes and trying to memorize quadratic equations the whole weekend, maybe you just needed this kind of company.
You don't know what had gotten into you, maybe it was the few sips of alcohol from earlier finally getting into your system. You tilt your face slightly as a response, just enough to answer without words.
That was all Yeonjun needed.
His lips brush against yours, soft and tentative at first, as if waiting for any sign of hesitation, for you to push him away, but there isn't. Instead, you melt into the kiss, your hands instinctively finding their way to his chest, feeling the steady and rapid rhythm of his heartbeat, one that matches your own.
Yeonjun's hands slip around your waist, pulling you closer as the kiss deepens. You can feel the tension in his body as he presses you against the cold brick wall of the club, his tall frame fitting perfectly against your curves. The contrast of his warmth and the cold from the night breeze against your skin sending a shiver down your spine.
His lips are insistent, moving with a hunger that leaves you breathless. When his tongue brushes teasingly along your lower lip, you part your mouth without hesitation, granting him access. The taste of him is intoxicating, a mix of whiskey and the faint smell of the cigarette from earlier, something so undeniably his, something that makes you dizzy with want.
You gasp softly, the sensation of his tongue against yours sending a shockwave through your body. Your hands, which had been tentatively clutching his jacket, now slide up his chest slowly to wrap around his neck, pulling him closer still. The dimly lit alley feels like it's spinning around you, the music from inside the club fading into the background, replaced by the erratic rhythm of your racing heartbeat.
When you finally break away, breathless, your forehead rests against his as you whisper,“Yeonjun, I—I barely know you...” The words barely make it past your lips before a giggle escapes, the thrill of the moment outweighing any lingering doubt.
He lets out a quiet chuckle, his hands tightening at your waist before slipping lower, fingers pressing into the small of your back. His dark eyes search yours, a flicker of amusement and something deeper dancing in them.
“Isn't that what makes it exciting?” he murmurs, his voice low and teasing.
You nod back at him with a sheepish smile. He kisses you again, more confidently this time, his hands on your lower back tighten, slightly pulling your closer to him.
This time, he kisses you with more certainty, more heat, his hands guiding you closer until there’s nothing left between you. You can feel your resolve slipping away, the desire for this connection with him overwhelming any reservations you might have had. Your fingers slowly tangle in his hair as you deepen the kiss, each second making it harder to think of anything beyond the feel of him—his taste, his warmth, the scent of his perfume clouding your senses, the way he holds you like he doesn’t want to let go.
Maybe it was just the lingering mental exhaustion or the fact that it had been a while since you’d kissed someone, especially like this—but Yeonjun was right. This was exactly what you needed. It had been so long since you felt this kind of rush, this dizzying surge of dopamine, that you never wanted the moment to end.
As the kiss lingers, Yeonjun pulls back just enough to look into your eyes, his gaze smoldering with a mix of desire and curiosity. His breath is warm against your lips as he murmurs,
“Do you want to get out of here?” he asks, his voice low and irresistible, hinting a quiet promise of something more.
Your lips part slightly, your heart pounding at the unspoken possibilities. You barely manage a nod before—
Oh, no.
The door to the club swings open with a loud creak, and suddenly, the alley is flooded with the pounding bass pouring out from the inside of the club and the unmistakable sounds of drunken laughter. Your friends stumble out, their faces flushed from alcohol, their voices slurred as they call your name.
You freeze, wide-eyed, the weight of reality crashing down on you.
Yeonjun exhales a soft chuckle, dropping his head slightly as if already anticipating your reaction. The intimate moment shatters, the heat between you dissipating as embarrassment creeps over your skin. You step back quickly, your fingers slipping from the back of his neck as you try to compose yourself.
There is absolutely no way you’re letting your friends catch you making out with a stranger outside the club.
Yeonjun watches you, something unreadable flickering across his face before he lets his hands fall away from your waist. But instead of letting you go completely, he reaches down, his fingers brushing against yours before lacing them together. The simple gesture sends another jolt through you, making your breath hitch.
“I-I should go,” you murmur, your voice barely above a whisper, laced with regret and hesitation.
Yeonjun nods, but his grip on your hand tightens for just a second, as if reluctant to let the moment end so easily.
“Let me get your number, at least,” he says, his tone softer now—less teasing, more sincere.
You finally meet his gaze, and for a brief moment, the noise of the world fades again. Then, with a quiet exhale, you pull out your phone, handing it to him. His fingers brush against yours as he takes it, quickly typing something before handing it back.
“Text me,” he says, a small smirk tugging at his lips, but there’s something genuine in his expression.“Or don’t. But I hope you do.”
“I will. Thanks for keeping me company tonight, Yeonjun.”
Your friends call your name again, their voices impatient, and you glance back at them before looking at Yeonjun one last time. With a reluctant smile, you squeeze his hand lightly before finally pulling away.
As you walk toward your friends, your pulse still racing from the encounter, you steal one final glance over your shoulder. Yeonjun is still there, leaning against the wall, watching you with that same unreadable expression.
And just before you disappear into the night, he lifts a hand in a lazy wave, the ghost of a smile playing on his lips.
You bite your lip, your heart still racing, as you smile back at him for a moment before turning your attention back to your friends. You walk alongside them as they chatter excitedly, their voices overlapping in a messy blur of drunken enthusiasm.
“Where the hell have you been?” Giselle asks, nudging your shoulder.“We’ve been looking for you all night!”
Julie laughs, slinging an arm around you.“Yeah! One second you were there, and then poof—gone. What were you even doing?”
You force a small smile, mumbling a vague response, but their words barely register. Their voices fade into the background, drowned out by the scene replaying over and over in your head—Yeonjun’s lips against yours, the way he whispered your name, the warmth of his fingers entwined with yours.
You shake your head, trying to push the thoughts away, but the ghost of his touch lingers on your skin.
With a quiet sigh, you follow your friends back into the club, the pounding bass greeting you once more. But even as the loud music swallows you whole, you know a part of you is still out there, standing in that alley with him.
Yup, this was going to be a long night.

Hey! New domme here. Learning to domme and being able to use skills has been so so exciting. Question for you. How might you handle a bratty little thing? Reeling her back from defiance to behaving like a good girl is so fun but I am looking for some new ways to get to her. Thanks!
Hello there, oh and how I love to receive questions from fellow Dommes. Thank you for reaching out. 🤍
Now, I must admit, I may not be the perfect Domme to ask when it comes to brat-taming expertise, as my personal involvement with brats has been fairly limited. In most of my past BDSM dynamics, I met my partners through clubs or local events, which allowed me to connect with submissives who aligned more naturally with the structure and energy I desired.
That said, even the most obedient submissive can have their bratty moments... trust me I know. And while it wasn’t the core of any of my dynamics, I’ve certainly had to respond when those cheeky bursts of defiance happened. So let me walk you through a few techniques I’ve used.
Boring Tasks as Punishment Simple, mundane tasks can be surprisingly effective. One time, I had a particularly cheeky sub organize our entire wardrobe, something I knew she dreaded. It gave her time to reflect… and we had a freshly sorted closet in the end.
Ruined or Denied Orgasms Not edging, true denial. Just enough build-up to leave them panting and aching, but no release. It's not about cruelty; it's about reclaiming control in a way that makes them remember who holds the power.
Mirroring Behavior If a sub tried to tease or provoke me like for example, by touching herself in front of me when she knows I'm on a call for example, I would respond in kind. For instance, I’d tie her up, unable to move, and pleasure myself in front of her… giving her the same show she gave me, while she watched helplessly.
Targeted Spanking Not just for fun, used as a firm tool. I tailor the technique to fall just outside the range of enjoyment, but still within their limits. Not harmful, but not their favorite. It becomes a lesson in control and accountability.
Tickling as Control Play Not always thought of as discipline, but in the right hands, it becomes a form of teasing restraint. Gentle torment. It removes their ability to stay in control of their body, much like a spanking, but playfully layered.
Rule Imposition For every act of brattiness, a new rule appears. Public or private. Sometimes even writing lines, wearing a plug, or sending regular check-ins. They learn quickly that every action has an elegant consequence.
Reward Reversal Turn something they want into something they must earn back. Whether it’s being allowed to sleep in our bed, wear certain lingerie, or receive the opportunity to touch you. If it was taken for granted, temporarily remove it.
Service Correction Assigning service-based tasks that bring humility and focus. It might be a full-body massage for you without allowing any touch in return, or preparing a meal, setting a table, kneeling silently while you eat.
Of course, everything must remain rooted in consent, communication, and care. What works for one sub may mean little to another, so knowing their desires, kinks, limits, and triggers will always guide your hand better than any one-size-fits-all method.
In the end, taming a brat isn’t always about punishment, it’s about guiding them. Letting them feel that even in their playful defiance, you won’t be moved. That you’re still in control. Still steady. And still deeply invested in their surrender.
And that? That’s the kind of dominance they ache for.
I hope this helped you some, and feel free to reach out again.

rivals.
stingyshima!!!!!
HAIKYUU -tsukishima kei- X FEMREADER
Tumblr media
rival, that's what they said, wasn't it? show offs, tease, and could never get along. rivals were a constant companion now, following you around. and you saw them right now, him. staring, right at you.
"what do you want." you mumbled a little too high for him to hear as you sat down on your seat and pulled out your books then placed them neatly in the drawers.
"nothing, have you studied for the upcoming test?" he asked, adjusting his glasses with a middle and ring finger.
out of every word and sentence he decided to ask that first?
"no, it's still in like, 1 week?"
"well, alright then. just asking, since you got your ass beaten by ME last test" he said cockily.
"what, so your trying to make sure i havent studied yet?" you returned the exact same tone.
"no, just asking, whatever."
It was lunch time, finally. the last 2 periods were torturing hell for you. a seat was available in the middle so you told your friends you guys could eat there.
you then saw tsukishima eating with some people, a guy that kind of looked like an orange, a guy with greenish hair, also known as yamaguchi. you knew since he was in your class too, and another guy sipping on milk. you barely find tsukishima eating with anyone except yamaguchi in lunch time usually.
but you shrugged it off cause "no one cares" you thought.
"you're so slow!!" they, your friends said as they ran towards your house. you quickly snapped out of your thought and began walking faster.
tsukishima and yamaguchi appeared in the corner of your eye, walking to a nearby shop. and that, made you walk faster. "I'm coming!!"
multiple hours have passed ever since you and your friends actually studied. for some reason you guys ended up watching a movie instead of studying, and you enjoyed it cause you didn't wanna study at all. but your mind kept going to the scores you'll get.
"what if i get a lower score than that stupid tsukishima?"
so you excused yourself to actually study and got up. "aw..oh right, we were supposed to study." reina, one of them said that led to almost the whole group laugh.
you opened the door that was connected to the walls of your bedroom and sighed deeply. you really did NOT wanna study. you always got these lazy feelings one week before the exam, but you reluctantly pulled out your notebook and began to write down the notes and studied.
groaning, you went down to see your friends still there, now studying. they looked pretty serious, and by their expressions, you can tell some of them cried due to stress. you chuckled at the sighting and joined them.
-time skip, brought to you by alienkawa-
It's now finally the exam day. you entered school with a big grin, knowing you'll ace this test and pass tsukishima's score. you talked a bit with your friends while adjusting your lockers and went to class. the sight was beautiful, the windows open, exposing the bright sky with birds chirping around.
but it soon got ruined by tsukishima towering over you. "move." he demanded, and you were about to argue but stepped aside cause you didn't wanna waste a single volcabulary and a vibrate from your voice box talking to him.
you saw him go to a blonde short girl, talking. you felt kind of jealous but pushed those feelings away cause who were you to care? you sat down and studied again to beat saltyshima.
he came back to class soon after, you looked up at him and furrowed your eyebrows and huffed. "hey" was all he said, before he took a seat and placed it right in front of you. "what?" you asked, the frustration obviously shown in the tone you gave him. you literally just wanted to study peacefully with no one bickering you.
"nothing, just wanted to see you study." he replied with a genuine smile you never ever saw. you ignored him and continued studying, thinking that he wasn't worth your time. but while you were studying, you knew he kept staring at you.
well, not glaring, but he kept looking at you. you could tell there was a difference with his usual cocky stare. he was staring at you with some, affection. you felt. so you lifted your head up. "what? am i that pretty to be stared at?" you said, narrowing your eyes.
"maybe." he replied and stood up, returned the seat and walked to his original desk. leaving you with your mouth slightly agape. and you couldn't help, but feel little butterflies flying in your stomach.
during the test, you kept grinning cause you could solve all of them easily. you took a glance at tsukishima but he was already staring at you. so you kept staring, treating it as a stare contest. he then rolled his eyes and focused on his test instead, and that made your day better.
at the end, when you were finished you saw tsukishima do something. he was chilling around, probably because he was done. but this particular movement caught your eye. he stopped spinning his pen, randomly picked up his eraser and started erasing an answer and wrote it with another one.
you raised your eyebrow in confusion, you were watching him for a while, and he kept spinning his pen but why did he randomly do that?
the bell soon rang and you shrugged it off. "he probably just realized his answer was wrong." you thought and happily went to your friends.
- time skip, brought to you by tsukis glasses -
"everybody sit down or else i wont share the exam results!" the teacher yelled while slamming the board eraser (i dont know what the name is help) to the table aggressively.
you sat down and waited, with absolutely no patience. you drummed your fingers on the flat surface of the table. waiting.
the teacher shared the results, and when it came to you, she smiled and said congrats.
your mouth went open in happiness. you got a 100! now, tsukishima COULDN'T top you. well, that's if he didn't get a 100.
you ran to him while the class was talking about their grades and asked about his score.
"how much did you get?" you said excitingly.
"98." he replied, looking up at you. he didn't seem so sad about it, or bothered at all. so that bothered you. you wanted him to feel bothered.
"ha! i passed you!" you said while skipping to your chair back happily, you finally passed him.
his eyes follow your figure, a small smile appearing on his lips as you skipped away. and he was glad that you were happy.
"tch."

How do you live with the sorrow and fear because of the horrifying predictions of our future that will likely be and the earth becoming uninhabitable, and it happening faster than expected? I'm trying to learn how not to have panic attacks about it every day so I can actually live my life while I still can and try and make at least some difference
let me just say that you're not alone in your pain, in your feelings and in your fears, in your grief...it is REAL--it can feel like a wound. you're like many, many people who know and have known that things are wrong and that things must be done. there are lots of reasons to be afraid, to feel sorrow and you're right in that we have to find a way to not be struck down by it so that we can act.
and let me tell you...people ARE acting. people ARE changing. things ARE changing. it won't happen as quickly as we want it to because nature and people are slow, and we've been wanting these things for years already and we've been screaming about these issues at the tops of our lungs and it feels as though there is always something that seems to stand in the way--there are those who want things to stay the same or who want to go back. or who believe there is no point in trying.
but, there is such a thing as a self fulfilling prophecy. we cannot truly know the future. we have predictions and we have knowledge, we have data, we have our problems and we have solutions, and we have MANY, MANY people out there willing to change and do better for a better future.
the simple hard fact is, my friend, is that We Can Not Give Up. There is no other option than to keep trying, to keep going, to keep finding the good as it comes with the bad. Even if it looks absolutely harrowing, even if some people tell you that we have no chance, that it's too late, we CANNOT GIVE UP. Because it isn't over until it is over. We have everything to gain by continuing to try, by learning from failures and from the past.
Nature adapts, and we are nature. Humanity is not evil. We are not inherently bad for this planet. We have this amazing world, this amazing creation all around us. And we are the younger siblings of all of it--We Have Everything We Need. We have each other. We have the world. And we can't give up.
You must have hope. When I am extra anxious about this, I like to go outside. I don't know if you're religious or spiritual but, I do like to just be thankful for the world around me and the fact that I am alive--that I have all I have in my life. I was taught that we are all related, that we are connected to the world around us in so many ways. I like to spend the time and pick up any trash I find. I like to admire the birds, the plants and the insects I find. I want to encourage you to, if at all possible, step away from any news sources that are currently stressing you out. This does not mean that you do not care about this...but I genuinely don't think we were meant to know all of the awful things happening around the world. It's okay to take a break from it. I've tried very hard to find positive news sources because I KNOW THAT PEOPLE ARE TRYING, People are doing THINGS and making changes and movements...and by caring about the world and your place in it and the future of it, you are a part of that....Find what you are passionate about in terms of nature, the environment and focus on ONE part, on ONE thing you can do and put your heart into that because you would be surprised the ripples effect you will have. I'm sending you all my love, friend.

based off this post, i present to you an au maybe 5 people will understand!
mercs/501st/rebel legion repcomm au*
*all dramatics in this au are based off of the characters and their dynamics in the series, not real world people, i feel like i have to say this because i'm a currently acting mercs officer
kal is an alor'ad, vau is the ver'alor (no really, trust me on this), and gilamar is the ruus'alor
kal has been the alor'ad for like 15 years now. nobody ever wants to run against him and the entire clan is dreading the year he retires. he never wants to retire, he's going to be trooping when he's 90
kal is ex-military (and in the mercs' military/vet group), discharged when he got shot in the ankle. he works as a substitute high school teacher, so he's mostly retired and treats the mercs as his job. he does a troop at least once a month, usually more
kal joined the mercs straight out of the military because he needed some kind of community and a hobby to keep him busy. pretty quickly he went from Military Hard Ass to Mr Rogers
he's INCREDIBLE at running cons, coordinating between multiple organizations, figuring out booth setup, managing the table schedule, and generally keeps things running very smoothly
kal and vau FUCKING HATED each other at first. they only got away with constant bickering because the alor'ad at the time was jango, who did not give a shit about the 'conflict resolution' part of his job and dumped alor'ad duties on the first person who was willing to do it as fast as possible (this was kal- jango quit the month after kal got approved)
before kal joined, vau was good friends with jango, and he's pretty pissed with him initially for quitting and leaving THIS LITTLE MOTHERFUCKER in charge, but vau didn't want the job either, so
the main reason kal and vau hate each other is that vau's dad was an air force officer (vau never enlisted because his dad wouldn't let him) and kal was army. instead of being reasonable about this, they build about 18 stratified layers of resentment
all their beef is external- they actually agree on most things related to the costuming clubs. they eventually start to bond over being annoyed by the same things, and mutually caring about their other club members. they get drinks after a small troop once and talk it out, and because they dont have Kamino And Vau Almost Killing Atin fucking up their relationship, this actually works. everybody is SHOCKED when vau runs for ver'alor the next year
vau is very happy with being ver'alor because he doesn't mind doing paperwork and merch stuff and finances (all of which kal is... pretty bad at) and he gets to be involved with all decision making, but kal does all the Social Organizing (which vau is very bad at)
mird is a fuckass little white dog that vau puts in various star wars costumes for events
alternatively mird is a doberman or shepherd breed that vau still puts in star wars costumes. i couldnt decide
vau does not talk about what he does for work. everyone is scared to ask
gilamar is the ruus'alor because it is his job to tell everyone not to breathe in bondo fumes or resin dust. this is my entire reasoning
he is actually a veterinarian, not a human doctor. everybody asks him for medical advice anyways
rav hosts most of the armor parties, she owns a ranch house (and horses), and also hosts an annual bonfire party. parja lives with her.
the clones are mostly not biologically related, but all of them for some reason or another lack family connections and have latched onto the costuming groups for that community. kal hasn't legally adopted any of them (he met them all at least as late teens/adults) but most of them refer to him as their dad/grandpa
the nulls are all masters of the craft. they have like 4+ approved kits each across the mercs, 501st, and rebel legion. jaing has the most approved kits: 2 custom mandalorians, a rotj boba (the madman), an arc lieutenant, stormtrooper, sandtrooper, imperial officer, generic jedi, darth vader- (the list continues and he has more in the works. he also is in Droid Builders)
mereel only has less approved kits than jaing, he has more if you count his joke kits. approved he has a custom mandalorian, a darth vader, a general grievous (yes this is a thing, you stand in the cloak and puppet the grievous), and a generic clone
for joke kits, he has a Bedazzled Mando, Sexy Darth Vader, Sexy Boba, a halo mashup, Male Twi'lek Hooter, Rainbow Jedi, and more
a'den specifically likes making helmets and has an entire wall of just helmets
all the nulls have lighting and mechanical parts to die for (whistling birds that actually move into place, fog machine in the jetpack, motorized and lit rangefinder, programmed voice lines activated by glove gestures, blasters with lights and sounds)
mereel also made an e-web prop
bardan joined rebel legion first with a jedi and still sometimes wears it but as soon as he found out about the mercs he made armor and didnt look back
bardan's lighting and programming game is also insane, he also likes droid building and lightsaber hilt building/programming
bardan has only done his jedi and one mando, but he's constantly helping everybody else with their armor. he's at every armor party. he's the best tailor in the whole goddamn area
zey is some kind of regional command/app team for the rebel legion (im not familiar with their command structure sorryyyy) and does not want to wear armor because it's hard to put on and rough on your body and also difficult and expensive. he's very good as a regional officer. kal only drives him a little crazy sometimes, they generally work together very well
etain is rebel legion with a custom jedi, and she's had mando armor in the works for literal years. bardan is about to kidnap her for a weekend to get it done already. she loves building blasters and helped mereel with the e-web
bardan is the clan's jor'alor (runs social media). before he joined that was vau's job. vau is ASS at social media and kept posting his dog. bardan actually would prefer to be the ru'cabur but he can't give social media control back to vau, it would be a disaster, so he's just also unofficially doing ru'cabur stuff (historian, lore expert)
at cons bardan usually runs a mandalorian history panel and includes a Mando'a Crash Course section where he gets the audience yelling phrases. he gets to nerd out to an actually interested audience for about 45 minutes, while wearing mando armor, with a power point. this is ideal for him
laseema has a twi'lek mando but prefers to handle rather than troop, she only wears her armor 2-3 times a year
i could go on but tbh if you read all of that already ily

Just wanted to share some wholesome thoughts about my Yuu's future family which have been rattling around in my brain for a while now. It'll all be underneath the cut.
Okay, so as I mentioned here, Yuu has no intention to ever have any biological children cause of her alien biology/her troublesome Quirk, etc. That's why the only way for her to have kids is via adoption which honestly really suits Yuu since it means she can provide love to kids who were once orphans like her.
While nothing is completely set in stone, I do have some ideas that I wanted to share in regards to what kind of family Yuu ends up with in the future.
First off, I wanna say that, just as she had promised him in my Fairy Gala fic, Yuu starts working for Leona after she graduates and provides any and all support she can to help him with his efforts to improve things in Sunset Savanna, so thankfully, Yuu doesn't have to go job hunting/ends up with a well-paying job right out of school cause Leona takes good care of his people.
Regarding Yuu's living situation, I love the idea of her having a place to stay in all the countries where she has a wealthy friend living there since said wealthy friends want her to be able to visit them at all times, so aside from Sunset Savanna, she'd have a place in Scalding Sands and Briar Valley for sure.
Honestly, I really love the idea of Yuu having a special house in Briar Valley that, thanks to Malleus's magic or perhaps a magical artifact he gives her, allows her to travel freely between countries like what the Dark Mirror does, cause I LOVE the idea of Yuu and her sons sharing a place or at least Yuu has a place where her sons can go if they don't want to actually regularly live there.
I feel like Malleus would love anything that would mean he has lots of people he can visit, so he would find a way to make this situation happen especially since it would mean that Yuu could live in Briar Valley while still working for Leona lol
Anyway, the reason I'm bringing up Yuu's living situation is cause I see most, if not all, of Yuu's friends getting involved when Yuu starts taking in kids so Yuu won't have to raise them alone/cause they wanna support Yuu/ they think it'll be fun/they like kids but don't wanna have one just yet, etc. etc.
Regarding Yuu's first adoption, I see it happening when Yuu is around 26 or 27, having been working for Leona for almost ten years.
It happens one day when she's riding around with Leona in one of the royal family's cars, heading back into town after doing some work outside of town.
Yuu, who's enjoying the scenery while Leona drives, happens to catch sight of something in the distance, and upon realizing it looks like an actual person, she tells Leona to drive in that direction since obviously they can't ignore a person who likely passed out from the heat since they're in a savanna area that's completely unshaded and has no nearby water sources.
Much to Yuu's dismay, when the car eventually comes to a stop, she discovers the unconscious person is a small child, probably no older than 4 or 5 years old.
Quickly, Yuu gathers the child, who's a female cat Beastman, into her arms and hurries back into the car, so Leona can drive them back to the capital since it's obvious that the child needs proper medical attention.
Thankfully, with Leona's royal connections, they're able to get a doctor to look over the child almost immediately after they return to town, and while the child is bad shape due to serious dehydration and malnourishment, they're able to save her life just in time, much to Yuu's immense relief.
During this time, Leona tries to find answers about the kid since it's not often you see kids wandering around on their own in the savanna, not even orphans typically do that cause they know just how brutal the savanna can be.
Ruggie, whom Leona called to help with this matter, theorizes that the kid's parents abandoned her in the savanna since he has heard stories of parents, who can't afford to feed their kids, just throwing them away like trash, much to Yuu's dismay and outrage.
Leona, of course, isn't pleased either since he doesn't want any of the people of his country being treated like trash. He's trying to fix things so this kinda thing DOESN'T happen.
That's why Leona has some guys look into this matter since, if they can find the parents, he wants to make sure they suffer the consequences of their actions.
This leads to Yuu wondering what will happen to the poor innocent child since obviously she doesn't have any good adults in her life to take care of her, and the last thing she wants is for the child to end up on the streets.
In the end, the decision gets made for Yuu by the child, who, once she finally regains consciousness, starts calling Yuu "Mama", catching Yuu, Leona, and Ruggie by surprise.
As soon as she lays eyes on Yuu, the child instantly latches onto her, more so figuratively than literally since she's too weak to move, and gives Yuu the kind of teary, pleading eyes that Yuu has absolutely no chance against, especially when the child keeps incessantly calling her "Mama" like that's the only word she knows.
Yuu immediately accepts this turn of events and is like, "Guess I have a daughter now." lol 😂
Because Yuu is weak to kids and she doesn't want this poor child to end up on the streets or an orphanage.
Yuu has always thought it'd be nice to have kids one day - to adopt kids who ended up as orphans like her, and this seems like a perfect time as any to adopt her first child since she's got a good/steady job. She has a means to ensure this child gets everything she deserves and more.
Of course, she realizes there's more to adoption than that, so she asks Leona for his help in confirming the child's situation and setting up the adoption process if this kid does, in fact, have nowhere to go.
Leona rolls his eyes cause he thinks Yuu is way too soft toward kids, but he agrees to help her since he knows there's no changing her mind once she has set her mind on something, and he thinks she's fully capable of raising a kid.
However, Leona does exchange looks with Ruggie cause Ruggie has been frowning and looking at the kid with narrowed eyes ever since she started treating Yuu like her mother cause he thinks something is up with the kid, and he can tell Ruggie feels the same way.
Yuu isn't the least bit suspicious of the kid cause she just thinks the child is desperate for love/is hoping that Yuu would provide that love if she acts like Yuu is her mother, and Yuu thinks there's absolutely nothing wrong with this child trying to find love/a real home.
After Yuu eventually gets the child to calm down and soothes her tears, Yuu asks her what her name is.
The kid makes a sad face and says she doesn't have one. No one's ever called her by an actual name before, which simultaneously breaks Yuu's heart and reminds her of how, back in her world, Tokumei was the only person who ever called her "Yuu" the name he gave her.
Naturally, Yuu can't let this stand, so she asks the child if she can give her a name. The kid is noticeably surprised by her question but eagerly nods.
After giving the matter some thought, Yuu comes up with the name Sora cause the child's eyes are a beautiful shade of blue that reminds her of the sky and Sora means sky in Japanese.
Thankfully, the child takes a shine to the name, so Sora becomes her name from there on.
For the rest of the day, Yuu remains with Sora since Sora didn't want her to leave her alone, and she didn't want to leave the poor child alone anyway in her current pitiful state.
At the end of the day, however, Ruggie takes over and makes Yuu head home since she can't spend the night in a hospital room, and she needs to check in with Leona to get an update on Sora's situation and her work schedule in general.
While Yuu is reluctant to part with Sora, who really doesn't want her to leave, she eventually agrees to go since there's no beating Ruggie when he's being this stubborn, and she knows she can't ignore her other responsibilities.
That's why she tells Sora that she'll be back first thing in the morning to see her, and she promises that she'll be in good hands with Ruggie.
After Yuu leaves and once he's sure there's no one around beside him and Sora, Ruggie tells the kid that he knows what her game is.
When a now nervous Sora tries to play innocent, Ruggie says there's no point in trying to fool him. He grew up in the slums. He's very familiar with all the different types of people who come from those areas and all the things they do to survive.
Originally, Ruggie had just thought Sora was a kid that had been abandoned by her parents, but as soon as she latched onto Yuu, Ruggie realized there was more to Sora than just that.
He's seen kids like Sora in action before. Under their guardians' orders, the kids are supposed to use their cute looks/pitiful situation to get people to feel sorry for them, and as a result, make them more vulnerable/easy to steal from.
If he were to make an educated guess, Ruggie thinks Sora was abandoned by her parents, probably cause she wasn't bringing in enough money for them and it was too costly to keep her around, but upon waking up, Sora just automatically fell back to what she knows best: using her cute looks/pitifulness to manipulate people.
Considering how young she appears to be, Ruggie wouldn't be surprised if Sora is hoping that she can win back her parents' favor if she succeeds in getting some money out of Yuu since, at that age, kids are desperate for their parents' approval/don't think they can survive on their own.
Sora tries to deny Ruggie's theory, but it's obvious that he's spot on. He read her like a book cause there's no fooling someone with his experience.
When Sora looks as if she intends to run away, Ruggie tells her to calm down since she's in no shape to move. She'll be at death's door again if she moves, which instantly makes her go still.
Once Sora settles down, Ruggie says that he's not trying to get her in trouble/expose her. He just wants to set things straight with her before she does something stupid.
Upon noticing her confusion, Ruggie explains that, if Sora gives up on the people who abandoned her and accepts Yuu as her mother, she won't have anything to worry about.
For the rest of her life, she'll always have food to eat, a roof over her head, and someone who will love her unconditionally. She'll get everything and more, and all she has to do in exchange is never break Yuu's trust - never betray her, like what she had originally intended to do.
Ruggie thinks it's a pretty damn good deal - one that Sora would be a fool to pass up. He tells her that she literally struck gold by pleading for help from Yuu, because Yuu is someone who will give Sora everything she could have ever dreamed of and more without ever asking for anything in return.
Because of his childhood, Ruggie truly has no issue with what Sora had been scheming, and if she had been targeting anyone other than Yuu, he wouldn't have even said anything.
However, he can't ever allow anyone to take advantage of Yuu and betray her cause she's important to him. That's why he had to talk with Sora and set things straight.
Because of her harsh, abusive upbringing, Sora is amazed at the prospect of someone being willing to love her unconditionally - to provide food and everything else she needs without Sora having to do anything in return.
But she can tell Ruggie isn't lying, and she could also tell that Yuu was different from all the other adults she has met in her life.
There's a lot of hesitation on Sora's end since she had really wanted to earn her parents' love despite the fact that they mistreated her constantly and never even bothered to give her a name.
However, she then remembers just how kind Yuu had been to her the whole afternoon they were together - how Yuu gave her a wonderful name and always smiled so warmly at her.
Sora really wanted to be with the woman who treated her with more kindness in a single afternoon than she had ever experienced since being born.
That's why, in the end, she promises Ruggie that she won't betray Yuu, whom she truly wants to be her mother.
Since he can tell that she's being honest, Ruggie finally relaxes and reaches over to ruffle the kid's hair, telling her that she just made the smartest decision of her life - one that she won't ever regret.
And he was exactly right.
Once Sora officially became Yuu's daughter, which happened after the people who abandoned her were found and arrested, she experienced more love and happiness than she ever thought possible.
And that love doesn't come solely from Yuu cause once Yuu let all of her friends know that she now has a daughter, meaning they're all big brothers/uncles/a grandpa now, Sora started getting plenty of love and attention from all of the guys, a lot of whom were really excited to have a cute kid to spoil lol
Lilia was so happy to finally get his first grandkid 😂
Moving onto the next kid to get adopted, this happens about a year and a half after Sora got adopted.
One day, while Yuu and Sora are in Briar Valley, heading into town since the house Malleus prepared for them is out in the woods, a young fae, who looks like a seven or eight year old in appearance, suddenly comes out of nowhere, having run out of a different part of the woods where Yuu normally doesn't see people.
The kid makes a beeline for Yuu and tearfully clings onto her, begging her to save him, all the while looking petrified.
When the boy mentions that someone is after him, Yuu doesn't hesitate to pull him into her arms along with Sora and makes a break for town since she needs to get them both somewhere safe.
Soon after Yuu starts running, blasts of magic start flying at her, but thankfully, Yuu is wearing the ring Malleus made for her which keeps her and the children completely safe.
However, since it'd be dangerous to run into town while someone is firing off magic since innocent bystanders could get caught in the crossfire and she really doesn't want to lead this dangerous person to any location where people important to her and her family would be, Yuu, after she exits the woods and reaches the outskirts of town, quickly sets the kids down and tells Sora to take the boy to the Zigvolt dental clinic since it's close. She also quickly hands her cell phone over to Sora, so she can call for help.
Although the children really don't want to leave Yuu behind, especially since she intends to face off against whoever is after the boy, Sora obeys her mother's order since she's smart enough to understand that she and the boy will only get in the way.
Shortly after the kids run off, hand-in-hand, a haughty fae walks into view, and Yuu quickly deduces that he's the one the boy is running from, which leads to her asking him why he's chasing that boy to the point that he's willing to attack her with his magic.
After denying that he used magic to attack her, the older man tries to tell her that the boy is his misbehaving nephew, but Yuu tells him that such an obvious lie won't work on her. He's not nearly as smooth as he thinks he is. Plus, that boy's fear was legitimate; he wasn't afraid simply cause he caused trouble for his "uncle".
That was a boy who was afraid for his life.
Annoyed that a mere human saw through him, the fae tells her that she has no right to talk back to someone of his high standing. She's way beneath a noble like him and should move to the side before he punishes her for getting in his way.
Naturally, Yuu refuses to let this man anywhere near Sora and that poor terrified boy.
As a result, she ends up fighting with the man who wastes no time in angrily using his magic on her to make her know her place - make her regret daring to defy a noble fae like himself.
Unfortunately for him, Yuu has accumulated plenty of experience fighting mages since arriving in TW, and he is far from being one of the strongest she has ever faced, so Yuu has no trouble dodging his attacks and closing the distance between the two of them, especially when she's wearing the ring Malleus made that can shield her from magic attacks and reflect them.
Within a few minutes, Yuu has the older man pinned to the ground, much to his surprise and outrage, and he only gets further upset when Yuu says that she'd never lose to someone who clearly spent his whole live being spoiled/pampered and who obviously has zero experience fighting.
Around that time, Baul, along with some soldiers, arrives on the scene, having come running after running into Sora and the boy at the Zigvolt clinic.
Yuu's opponent tries to win Baul over by lying and saying that Yuu attacked him unprompted. He asks Baul to save him from this vile human.
Unfortunately for him, Baul is quick to yell at him for daring to lie to him, not only that to lie about someone the Draconia family has vouched for and put under their protection.
With a smirk, Yuu tells her opponent that there's no getting out of this; it's all over for him, so he might as well confess and reveal why he had targeted the boy he had been chasing.
Unsurprisingly, the man remains silent, but Baul is confident that he can get some answers out of him, so he tells Yuu to leave the rest to him, so she can go check on the kids who are worried about her.
Since the kids are definitely way more important to her, Yuu leaves things to Baul and hurries to the Zigvolt clinic where Sora and the boy tearfully embrace her.
Aside from them and Sebek's parents are Sebek, Silver, and Lilia who had come over after Sora had called Sebek, which she had done while she running to the clinic.
Because they knew Baul and the men he had with him would have things covered, Yuu's friends chose to remain with the kids to keep them calm since they were so distressed.
As she's soothing the children, Yuu tells her friends about what happened and how she didn't get any useful info from the guy she defeated, so she has no idea why he was after this boy.
After reining in his tears, the boy says that he can explain everything before finally introducing himself as Liam Voya, which catches Lilia off guard because he had thought the Voya family had all died over a century ago.
Apparently, back when Maleanor was still alive, there had been a clan of people with the last name Voya. They were all fae of noble lineage with impressive magical abilities, but what they were known most for was their impressive ability of divination, which helped them predict future outcomes of events and even sometimes showed them actual visions of the future.
Regrettably, the Voya Clan lost their high-standing/status after they foresaw the fall of the Briarland kingdom which the Senate viewed as treason since they dared to doubt the abilities of the royal family, and even worse, when Maleanor died and the kingdom did fall, the Senate blamed the Voya Clan for not giving them a proper warning/told them how to avoid this outcome, claiming that this could have all been avoided if the Voya Clan had done their job.
Thanks to the Senate, the Voya Clan had been ostracized/banished from the capital, although Maleficia did what she could for them since she didn't blame them at all. Sadly, she couldn't do anything about the Senate and all the nobles who sided with them.
After that unfortunate turn of events, the Voya Clan, as time passed, grew smaller and smaller due to being persecuted by those who blamed them for what happened with the humans that invaded, etc.
Plus, there were many Voya Clan members who died as a result of becoming extremely depressed about what happened to their clan and being unable to do anything for their kingdom that they had sworn to serve.
Liam is the one who explains what happened after his clan was banished, and he eventually reveals that eventually the clan was down to only three members, him and his parents.
As tears once more stream down his cheeks, Liam says that now he is the last member of his clan because an evil man, who wished to exploit the powers of his clan, found him and his parents and attacked them.
Fortunately, Liam's parents had foreseen this, so they were able to get Liam to run away to safety. Before he left, they told him to use his power of divination with the purpose of finding the one person who he could trust with his life - who would protect him from the evil that's after him.
When he did this, Liam saw a vision of Yuu, which is why he sought her out and begged her for help, because his parents told him that he could always trust his powers no matter what.
Upon hearing Liam's tragic story, Yuu once again hugs him and tells him that he's safe now. No one will be able to hurt him now.
Lilia supports her words since he intends to tell Malleus everything, and he's sure that Malleus will want to take responsibility for what the Voya Clan had to unjustly endure cause of the Senate.
As expected, when Malleus hears the whole story, he's furious about what happened to an innocent clan of his people - people that should've been protected, not ostracized. He swears that the man who killed Liam's parents will pay dearly for his crimes and that Liam will be put under the protection of the Draconia family from there on.
After saying that, Malleus asks Yuu if she would be willing to take the position as Liam's parental guardian since Liam, although he has been alive for around fifty years, is still a child by fae standards and needs someone to look after him.
Because Malleus trusts Yuu implicitly and because it's obvious that Liam has become attached to her, he asks her to take care of Liam since he knows that no one can give more love to the child than her.
Plus, he thinks her Quirk makes her the best person qualified for taking care of a child who has powers similar to her.
And of course Yuu is more than happy to accept the role, although she first asks Liam if he'd be alright with that since what he wants is what's most important.
Liam is quick to accept the idea of living with Yuu since, right now, he feels that she's the only person he can really trust since what the Voya Clan endured has made it so that he can't help but be wary of the royal family and all the regular citizens of Briar Valley.
He doesn't have any particular bad feelings about humans, despite what happened in the past, since he's never had a personal bad experience with a human, and his family had been hurt more by their fellow fae than any humans.
Once Yuu accepts being Liam's new parental guardian, Malleus asks Sebek if he'd be willing to also play that role and assist Yuu since he's so knowledgeable about the fae. Plus, Sebek already lives together with Yuu anyway so it just makes perfect sense to put both Yuu and Sebek in charge of protecting and raising Liam.
Unsurprisingly, Sebek is quick to accept Malleus's request since he wants to live up to his liege's expectations, and he wants to do whatever he can to help Yuu and Liam, the latter of whose story really touched him.
This naturally leads to Lilia playfully teasing Sebek about how Sebek is doing things out of order since he's living with Yuu and raising a child with her but still hasn't married her, much to Sebek's great dismay/mortification lol 😂
Thankfully, despite Lilia's teasing, Sebek doesn't take back his pledge to help raise Liam, so he and Yuu become co-parents, much to the delight of Lilia and Sebek's mom lol
Yuu and Sebek end up working really well together as parents due to Yuu's kind motherly nature/her experience with Sora and Sebek's earnestness/determination to be the best possible father figure.
Fortunately, it doesn't take long for Sebek to earn Liam's trust cause Sebek is always trying to hard for Liam's sake and is noticeably kinder/more gentle with Liam, like how he is with Yuu and Sora, as compared to most people.
Liam also eventually comes to trust the rest of Yuu's family since they're all just as determined to dote on him as they are with Sora lol
And Liam warmed up quickly to Sora since she's younger despite the fact that their personalities are quite different since he's more polite/reserved/old-fashioned while Sora, after becoming comfortable with her new family, becomes a real firecracker who's a total extrovert that's always full of energy.
These two are pretty much total opposites, but they end up getting along in the end since they're both similar in that they went through a lot in the past and they both really love Yuu, so while they may butt heads on occasion, they never seriously fight and can usually get along well enough.
Moving onto the next adoption, it happens about two years after Liam joins the family.
One day, while Yuu is walking around a town in the Shaftlands for work-related reasons, accompanied by Jack who's acting as a guide of sorts since he's familiar with the area, she hears a young voice call out for their parents before a body crashes into her from behind.
While Jack keeps Yuu upright, she looks down in surprise to see a young boy who appears to be a wolf Beastman like Jack.
Her surprise only grows when, after getting a good look at her face, the young boy mumbles that he had been wrong before bursting into tears.
Without hesitation, Yuu tries to comfort the sobbing child and does everything she can to soothe him. At the same time, Jack's looking around trying to find the kid's parents.
Since Jack is having no luck in finding any other wolf Beastmen and their group is getting a lot of looks from the people in the area, Yuu and Jack decide to take the boy to the nearby local park to talk in private since they obviously can't leave him alone when he's so distressed.
Thankfully, the boy goes along with the change of location since he's more focused on clinging onto Yuu, remaining in her arms, since he's obviously taking a lot of comfort from her presence.
Once the three have found a park bench to sit on and the boy finally settles down, Yuu introduces herself and Jack and asks the boy for his name.
He tells her that his name is Theo Wolfram before apologizing for tackling her earlier and crying. He really didn't mean to do all that; he had just gotten his hopes up when he had thought he found his parents since Jack looks like his dad from behind and Yuu smells a lot like his mom.
Sniffling, Theo says it was stupid of him to react like that when his parents and siblings have been dead for the last two years. He doesn't know why he let himself act so foolishly.
Yuu's heart breaks when she hears that Theo is an orphan and the reason why he approached her so suddenly. After making sure he's alright with it, Yuu pulls Theo into a hug and gently strokes his back.
Since this kinda thing is more Yuu's expertise, Jack leaves the comforting to Yuu, but he remains close to Theo and wraps his tail around him in hopes that the gesture will offer the kid some comfort since he always liked when his parents did that to him when he was a kid.
After giving Theo some time to soak in the comfort he desperately needs and settle down, Jack gently asks Theo why he's in town alone, carrying what appears to be an overnight bag. Was he on his way to meet someone before he happened upon Yuu and Jack?
When Theo stiffens, Yuu and Jack immediately realize that the answer to Jack's question is "no". Something is definitely up with this kid.
Worried that Theo might try to run to escape being questioned, Yuu assures him that they only want to help him. They don't want to interrogate him or anything like that. They just want to make sure Theo is alright since they can't leave him alone if there's a chance he's in trouble.
Yuu promises that if Theo confides in her she'll do whatever she can to help him regardless of his situation cause she's incapable of leaving a child alone.
She also mentions that she herself is an orphan and that she's currently taking care of two kids that she adopted because they didn't have a parents to love and take care of them. That's why she can't leave Theo alone.
Jack tells Theo that he can trust the two of them. Neither he nor Yuu are the type to break a promise, so he won't ever have to worry about them betraying his trust.
After going quiet for several minutes, Theo decides to trust the two since he smells nothing but sincerity from them, and the poor child really wants someone he can depend on. He hates being alone.
That's why he reveals that he ended up in an orphanage after a horrible storm caused a landslide that destroyed his home and killed his parents and older and younger siblings. He was the only survivor.
For the last two years, he's been at the orphanage hoping that someone would take him into their family, but all this time, no one has ever taken an interest in him cause most people think his naturally serious looking face is scary, especially since he ended up with a permanent scar on it during the landslide incident.
Theo also has heterochromia, a amethyst colored eye and a sapphire colored eye, which is really unusual in these parts, so it also makes him stand out in a bad way along with the fact that he's taller than most kids his age.
Because he's so "scary-looking", other kids/adults typically keep their distance from him, and whenever something bad happens like a fight, eyes always fall on him even when he had nothing to do with what happened.
Theo eventually had enough of his miserable, lonely life at the orphanage, which he believed he would be stuck at until he turned 18 because it's rare for 11 year olds like him to get adopted since people tend to adopt the younger children.
That's why he chose to run away because he'd rather live on his own than be surrounded by people who don't understand him. It was shortly after he snuck out of the orphanage that he picked up Yuu's scent, which he unconsciously followed before he even realized what he was doing.
Naturally, upon hearing Theo's story, Yuu wastes no time in pulling him into another tight hug, all the while whispering reassurances to the boy who has started crying again.
During this time, Yuu and Jack exchange looks. Without saying anything, Jack instantly knows what Yuu is planning cause he knows her so well, and he just rolls his eyes about this whole adoption thing being a reoccurring thing with her lol
After Theo eventually calms down, Yuu asks him if he'd like to be a part of her family, catching him by surprise.
Eyes wide with disbelief, Theo asks if she really would be willing to adopt a "scary" kid like him.
Smiling, Yuu says he's not scary at all. In her eyes, he's an adorable child who deserves all the love she can give him and then some. She thinks his eyes are beautiful and his face is absolutely precious.
That's why she wants to be the home he deserves, so he won't ever have to be alone again.
Sobbing, Theo clings onto Yuu with all his might and says he wants to be a part of her family, more than anything.
With a fond grin, Jack reaches over to ruffle Theo's hair as he tells Theo that means Theo will need to get stronger so he can protect his new younger siblings. He'll be the oldest kid, so it'll be his job to look after the other kids.
(Technically, Liam is the oldest, but cause of how fae ages work, he doesn't get treated as such which he's fine with since he also views himself as a child lol)
Jack tells him no more running away and to stand up for himself since the only way people will know the true him is if he tells them. Nothing will change if he remains quiet, like what Theo has been doing all this time out of fear that he'd be rejected even more if he tried to stand up for himself since that could potentially make him look even scarier.
Theo promises that he'll become stronger and be the best big brother ever, prompting Yuu and Jack to exchange grins.
After that exchange, once Theo has stopped crying, the group heads to the orphanage, so Yuu can officially adopt Theo - a process she's able to expedite with the use of all her connections to royal families, etc. lol
And that's how Theo becomes the next official member of Yuu's little family, and he is very happy to be a part of this warm, loving family.
Thankfully, Sora and Liam took a shine to Theo quickly since he's so chill/good at mediating. Theo is a gentle giant with a heart of gold who'll do anything for his family.
Unfortunately for Jack, Ace and the others tease him a good bit about Theo cause Theo looks so much like Jack with the exception of the eye color and the fact that Theo's hair is jet black. The way Theo's resting face is so serious and intimidating to others is just like how it is for Jack lol
Jack, of course, kicks Ace's ass when Ace dares to say Theo was his secret lovechild lol 😂
Like the other kids, Yuu's friends end up spoiling Theo so he gets a lot of love from everyone, making him really glad that he ran into Yuu that day and accepted her offer to join her family.
Moving onto the next kid to get adopted, it happens less than a year after Theo joins the family.
One day, while Yuu is in the Queendom of Roses, hanging out with Ace and Deuce, on the way to the Clover family bakery, which is where they're meeting up with Trey, Riddle, and Cater, she suddenly hears a baby crying.
Unable to ignore her maternal instincts, Yuu immediately heads for the source of the crying while an exasperated Ace and worried Deuce follow after her.
Much to their dismay, they eventually come to a stop inside an alley where they find a human baby resting in a cardboard box, wrapped up in a blanket. Along with the baby is a small note asking for someone to give the baby girl a better life than they ever could, making them assume that the baby was abandoned because her parents couldn't take care of her anymore so they hoped someone else would give their child a better life.
Yuu wastes no time in pulling the child into her arms, and thankfully, the baby immediately stops crying, leading to Ace making a quip about Yuu's mom powers already being at work.
While Deuce quickly sheds his jacket to wrap around the baby, he wonders how anyone could just abandon their child like this. Even if they couldn't afford to care for the baby, it's wrong to just abandon a helpless baby in a dirty alley, especially in the middle of winter.
Yuu is in full agreement. That's why she wants Deuce to put in a call to the local police since they need to report this to the authorities.
While Deuce does that and remains at the spot where the baby was found so he can point it out to the police when they arrive, Yuu and Ace will take the baby to the Clover family bakery, so the baby can be somewhere warm and get looked over.
After that's decided, Ace and Yuu hurry to the bakery. Along the way, Yuu decides to name the baby "Tsuki" cause the baby has a crescent moon birthmark on her forehead, and Tsuki means moon in Japanese.
Ace shakes his head and says Yuu can't just keep adopting kids that she finds, and Yuu says she most certainly can. Just try and stop her lol 😂
That's why, when they eventually enter the bakery and meet up with their upperclassmen, Yuu announces that they all have a new niece, which leads to the following reactions:
Trey/Riddle: Yuu, no!
Cater: OMG! Yuu-chan, yes!
Despite their initial reactions, Trey and Riddle are quick to offer their help. While Riddle offers to look over the baby, whom they quickly discover will cry if anyone other than Yuu holds her, Trey hurries to the house of one of his cousins who lives nearby since his cousin recently had a baby and should have some baby supplies they can use.
All the while, Cater is just gushing about how excited he is about dressing up this baby. Sora isn't into dressing up much nowadays, so he's excited to have a new girl to play dress-up with haha
Thankfully, it seems that Tsuki wasn't outside for too long since there are no issues with her health, although Riddle still wants the baby to be taken to a professional pediatrician after things are handled with the police, who eventually arrive with Deuce after they finish processing the area where Tsuki was abandoned.
Making full use of all her connections, Yuu gets the police to agree to let her be Tsuki's caretaker while the investigation is ongoing, and once the investigation eventually closes with the police unfortunately unable to find whoever abandoned Tsuki, Yuu makes it so that Tsuki legally becomes her child since she quickly got attached to the baby, to no one's surprise lol
Sora, Liam, and Theo were all happy to welcome Tsuki into the family and are constantly wanting to hold the baby.
All of Yuu's friends are also happy to welcome the new addition to her family, although there's some fond exasperation on the end of some of the upperclassmen who can't believe Yuu has already got her hands on another new kid haha
Naturally, all the doting members of this huge family are very excited about getting to spoil this new addition to the family. Kalim needs to be held back to keep from going overboard. Same with Idia, and Leona isn't much better cause he's a softie toward Yuu's kids, the girls especially 💕
Another great thing about this turn of events is it gives Jack and the others a reason to tease Ace cause Tsuki's eyes are exactly like his, making them bring up the possibility of her being a secret lovechild Ace knows nothing about, much to his annoyance lol
Moving onto the last idea I had for a potential child for Yuu to adopt, it happens around three years after Tsuki is adopted.
One day, Ortho randomly asks Yuu to come to the Island of Woe cause he and Idia have something important to talk to her about.
Upon reaching the island, Yuu finds Idia, who looks as anxious as he did in his NRC days, waiting for her.
Both of the brothers take Yuu by the hand and guide her to a room which apparently has to do with the reason she was summoned to Styx HQ.
Much to Yuu's immense surprise, after they enter the room, she soon finds herself standing in front of a crib, containing a baby boy who has a small tuff of flaming blue hair.
In hopes of bringing some levity to the room since Idia really looks like he could use it, Yuu jokingly says that if she didn't know him as well as she did she'd accuse him of having a secret lovechild, which has been a running joke with her friends as of late.
While Ortho giggles, Idia rolls his eyes but thankfully calms down a little thanks to her joke.
Idia explains that this baby is his cousin who was just recently born to a relative of his, who sadly died during childbirth. Because the baby was born from a one night stand, the father isn't in the picture.
Because it's clear that this baby has the Shroud family curse, it was decided that he would come under the care of Idia's family since the Island of Woe is where everyone with the curse lives.
Idia claims this baby has even worse luck than him. Not only does he not have parents, he received a curse he shouldn't have cause fate realized Idia didn't intend to get married/have children due to him not wanting any more kids to end up like him, resulting in this baby having to take the unfortunate role of his future replacement.
(I HC that not all Shrouds have the curse. I feel like it's most likely just Idia's immediate family that has it. At the very least, I couldn't see distant relatives having it, which is what this baby is.)
Both Yuu and Ortho are quick to say that Idia isn't at fault for the baby being cursed. They won't let him blame himself for this child's fate when it was his right to decide whether or not he had kids.
Idia hates everything about this situation since he doesn't want a kid to go through what he did as a child. He doesn't want this baby to have zero freedom right from the start.
Yuu assures him that they won't let this baby suffer like he did. While the curse means the baby needs to stay on the island since the child can't accumulate blot to burn on his own as an infant, they can bring the baby off the island to other places for short periods of time which can gradually become longer once he's older.
Yuu promises that she'll do everything she can to make sure this child gets to experience everything that normal kids do. She'll take him on plenty of adventures along with the rest of her kids and family, so he'll be able to see the world and not be trapped in this building his whole life.
Upon hearing her assurances, Idia settles down and releases a sigh of relief since that's exactly what he was hoping she'd say. He knows he's in over his head here, so he really needs her help to ensure this baby grows up happy.
That's when Ortho pipes up that they wanted to ask Yuu to be the baby's parent along with Idia since Idia is out of his depth here, and they want the baby to have a loving mother like her.
Naturally, Yuu is quick to agree since she predictably has already gotten attached to the baby and wants to do everything she can to support him and ensure his childhood is much happier than Idia's.
After that exchange, Yuu asks if the baby ever received a name, to which the Shroud brothers shake their heads. Their parents had told Idia that he could decide, but he and Ortho really had no idea what kind of name to choose. All they could think of were the names of their favorite fictional characters lol
Ortho asks Yuu what name she would give the baby, and after giving it some thought, Yuu suggests Orion since it's a name of a constellation in her world, and she wants this baby to reach for the stars. Plus, she knows how much the Shroud brothers love Star Rouge, so she thought they'd appreciate a space-themed name.
Idia and Ortho quickly take a shine to the name since they like the reasoning for it, and they think the idea of using a name from another world is super cool haha
And that's how Orion became the fifth child to join Yuu's large family who ends up receiving all kinds of love from his new siblings and uncles/big brothers 💕
And, of course, everyone gives Idia a hard time about the kid cause Orion has his hair and eye color. As if this co-parenting situation wasn't already embarrassing enough for Idia 😂
But, despite his embarrassment, Idia does a great job at being Orion's father. He's super awkward at first, but he slowly but surely grows into the role and comes to really love the child and want nothing but the best for him.
Idia & Yuu make a good parenting team since she's able to keep him calm and also ensure that Idia doesn't go overboard with buying stuff for the kid lol Yuu's more emotional way of parenting also does well with keeping things balanced since Idia is super logical and often acts more like a scientist than a dad, although he really tries hard to act like a normal loving parent.
And, of course, Ortho is the best, sweetest uncle ever 💕
I'm gonna stop here since this post is already super long lol But feel free to shoot me an ask if you wanna hear more about the kids and ask questions about them! ^^

I'm gonna be honest with you guys, the urge to do the same thing I did with the oitd silhouettes, aka slap text posts onto the art with no knowledge of their canon personality other than what they did in the trailer and pulling from the fandom's perceived personality for them, for the new oxventure characters revealed in that trailer is so real
