BNHA Girl's Redesigns
(pt.1)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Renamed more in the second batch than the first batch (apparently I only liked the original Uravity & Froppy, does Alien Queen count tho?)
Design commentary below the cut
Mina Ashido (Alien Queen)
I don't know how to explain the differences I chose bc it's a pretty similar aesthetic to her canon design. Though, definitely wanted her hair to be white & her horns the same pink as her skin. I wanted to push her suit in the more space/alien direction bc I have a small grudge against midnight for vetoing the name. I made her suit pattern and eyes compliment each other a bit more w blue & green. I kept the fur cuz it's cute and a bit gaudi which is in her taste & lastly I made her acid more colorful so it's not....yk semen white.
Tooru Hagakure (Oversight)
For Hagakure, I wanted to lean into the stealth thing a bit with a ninja motif; and if Mirio can have a suit with the properties of his quirk from studying his hair, so can she. I also wanted every bit of her design to be so pale she's nearly translucent when visible (she would be able to voluntarily change her visibility, but still prefers to be invisible.) Her hair is also short and a bit of a mess since she is unburdened by her appearance +with an iridescent sheen. I made her eyes a pale purple because extremely albino people with very little melanin in their eyes have purple iris's due to blue pigment mixing with red vines. Lots of small nitpicky details with her lol
Kyouka Jirou (Pulse)
With Jirou, I wanted her bangs to cover her face and (it didn't come across well in the final) her sideburn pieces to be longer than the rest of her bob which is already longer than canon with an undercut. She also needed more of a proper hero costume imo, so she's got that leather/spandex bodysuit with a volume emblem; the stripes on her sleeves would also vaguely resemble the bare of a volume key. I actually went through a few renditions to figure her out but I'm really glad for that; I didn't illustrate it here, but I think it would be cool if she had some iron hammers to plug into that she would slam into the ground or into her enemies & amplify the sound. Small difference, I moved the speakers from her boots up to her knees for closer access.
Base designs & body types:
Tumblr media
Also here is a Jirou design that I took all the way to flats before I decided I hated it. Glad I took the opportunity to redo it, she looks much better now

10 Years of Heroic Adventures, and to this day, Friday, August 2nd, 2024. Is where the My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi has finally come to an end at Chapter 430.
After reading the manga, I was left in tears to witness how far these kids grew to become the heroes they always been. I want to talk a lot about it but here's some of my highlights I've found. This is just me rambling out.
Spoilers if you haven't read the manga yet. Specially you Anime-Watchers, Y'all don't want to be spoiled.
Tumblr media
It appears Kota is introducing his new friend Eri to Mandelay, and Toko and Hawks are talking, probably Hawk's new position as the new head of Hero Public Safety. Below Kota and Eri's are Aizawa and Present Mic praying their respects to Shirakumo at his grave.
Tumblr media
I guess Spinner did became a writer afterwards. And I personally want to read that book too!
Tumblr media
I dunno who that guy reading the paper, maybe it's Mr. Compress? But I'll be damned if that pannel of Midoriya and Uraraka are them going out. Those Shippers are picking up crumbs of IzuOcha content with this.
Tumblr media
I'm betting Hatsumei used Iida as advertisement to her company. Gentle and La Brava started their Programming Inc now!
Tumblr media
Featuring Eri, the future music artist along with her friends. And never in my life have I really need a Short-Haired Aizawa.
Tumblr media
Jirou's and Kaminari's Agencies are right next to each others! I'm betting Jirou's agency is also a music studios. I'm picking this KamiJirou crumbs to myself.
Tumblr media
Another Star Wars reference coming from Hawks.
And finally, Adult Class A, 8 Years later!
Tumblr media
Aside from Hagakure still being naked as her Hero Costume, (she needs to take note from Mirio) Can we appreciate how much they looked so cool! And Kaminari giving rizz vibes. Kirishima looks so MANLY, and Jirou, Ashido, and Uraraka looked so gorgeous on theirs!!
Thank You, My Hero Academia for this wonderful 10 years, as the series had achived this milestone! You've inpired us all with every chapter written and every episodes aired! The series might have ended, but we still reaching ours, and we will achive our dreams!
THANK YOU, AND PLUS ULTRA!!!

How Class 1-A texts
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
M.list
Warnings - Mentions of spicy scams in one part.
...
Midoriya - no caps, its not even on purpose. he just forgets to, and this slightly triggers some of his friends.
Iida - Very proper, and doesn't text naturally. He more so gives updates. Like...
'I have just gone on a nice run, the sun is very bright today.'
Bakugo - Many would think he'd be all caps and aggressive... But no. Why would he waste time on the extras? So he often respond with 'K' 'No' 'Yes' or leaves them as read. Depending on the person, he will occasionally threaten them.
Todoroki - Texts normally, but if he's feeling fun he'll add the basic 🙂or🙁 emoji. He does have a habit of leaving people on read... But he means well.
Uraraka - She's 50/50 she'll either text normally, and spell everything correct. Or misspell tons of words on purpose with so many emojis💕❤️🎂😜😝🎉. She also reacts to everyone's texts.
Kirishima - Hypes everyone up, he rarely even talks about himself. He just tries to help everyone else out.
'Bakubro, don't be hard on yourself! You're so manly!'
Denki - He has a meme reaction for every situation. Dad died? Squidward is here, no cookies left? Homer Simpson appeared, ran out of toilet paper? Rupaul just popped up.
Mina - ALL CAPS BECAUSE SHE IS SO HAPPY AND EXCITED TO BE TALKING WITH HER PALS AND SHE HAS SO MANY FUN STORIES TO TELL, ALSO LOTS OF EMOJIS! 💕🎉💖💕💖💕💖😜💋🦅
Sero - Sends meme reactions, but not as much as Denki. And he weirdly feels bad for unused emojis so he'll send out weird ones.
'Going to 7/11 want anything? 🍽️🍡💴'
Jiro - Doesn't talk much, she keeps it short and simple. She prefers talking through snapchat feeds or in person.
Momo - Starts all of the most used groupchats, but oddly enough rarely talks in them. She's busy, but she'll answer if someone needs help with studying or something.
Tokoyami - Quotes from his favorite movies or books a lot, tries to give advice even if it isn't the best advice. He likes to use 💀 emoji a lot.
Tsu - Sneaky, she takes screenshots of shady moments or makes private group chats to exclude the boys from. She's all for the girlies💅
Ojiro - Just watches the chaos unfold, sometimes comments on Tokoyami's quotes, saying he knows where it's from.
Sato - Sends yummy recipes he learned for people to try out, shares photos of beautiful sunsets, nice dinners, and wholesome quotes he found. Overall wholesome texter.
Aoyama - Takes selfies of himself, and sends them randomly. Like in a middle of a discussion over homework, he just sends a selfie of himself he thought was cute.
Hagakure - Starts heated debates, she nearly made the whole group chat become deleted after she asked if pineapple belongs on pizza. She likes to stir the pot, she makes sure to add a topic that triggers either Bakugo or Aoyama since they get the most heated.
Shoji - Gets brought into conversations a lot, gets hyped up by people randomly. And even started a small meme amongst the group that he was unaware of, he rarely texts in the group chat but everyone always wants him to join.
Koda - Sends game links in the chat just so he could get free gems in the game he's playing due to sharing the link. He also likes to use pet emojis, and share cute photos of his bunny.
Mineta - Was banned several times in the chat, by numerous people. Has to be told multiple times not to fall for p*rn scam ads, also sends game links for free gems.
"What do you guys mean, Anna isn't in my area?"

Week 13 (Sporta Festival - Part 3)
Game 3! B-B-Battle!
(Yeah, y'all knew I wasn't about to change this. Be honest.)
Mic announces the next game, Aizawa preparing student files for everyone who passed, including the 1-C and 1-H students, even getting Vlad King's input on his students.
Midnight draws names for the first round, each one appearing on the screen. Once again, only hero names are used, with the exception of Shouto who, well, goes by Shouto.
The match-ups are as such:
Battle 1: Aoyama Yuuga vs Honenuki Juuzou.
Battle 2: Ashido Mina vs Shiozaki Ibara.
Battle 3: Hagakure Tooru vs Kendou Itsuka.
Battle 4: Iida Tenya vs Hatsume Mei.
Battle 5: Kaibara Sen vs Todoroki Shouto.
Battle 6: Kirishima Eijirou vs Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu.
Battle 7: Midoriya Izuku vs Shinsou Hitoshi.
Battle 8: Uraraka Ochako vs Yaoyorozu Momo.
Before the battles start, students are allowed to spend a further five minutes preparing, whether it be mentally or physically. Izuku and Shouto cross paths, though nothing is said. Only a nod of their heads, before they continue on.
Kyouka and Mashirao meet up, staring at the match-ups. Specifically, at 'Mindjack's name, against Izuku's. They both feel so frustrated, because they couldn't even show the pros what they were made of, and how they used their quirks. It was all orchestrated by Shinsou, and they can't even remember how.
Seeing them, Setsuna, also pissed that she can't even remember what she did, approaches.
"There were no rules against using your quirk on your teammates," she says, eyes strictly on Shinsou's name. "He didn't cheat. He used whatever or whoever was at his disposal. Only sore losers would claim he cheated..." Her eyes narrow, crossing her arms and digging her fingers into them. "That doesn't mean it was okay."
They agree to warn Izuku of what they remember: Shinsou saying something to them. After that, it's all blank.
Izuku gratefully accepts their warning, making notes on how to deal with Shinsou, and what he remembers himself of their short meeting, both at the Entrance Exam and in the King of the Hill game.
Yuuga sits in his waiting room, staring at the floor, his body shaking and his mind racing. He can't bring himself to calm down, but he knows he'll have no choice but to fight if he wants to make something of himself. (If he wants to be a hero.)
Meanwhile, Mei ambushes Tenya in his waiting room, and they come to an agreement, using the rest of their prep time to contact a teacher: Midnight. Midnight, liking the showmanship and the comradary, agrees too.
Sen is pretty much dead-eyed, staring up at the ceiling, much to Kousei and Hiryu's concern, who both came to cheer him up. They all knew how strong Shouto was, and even their inter-class rivalry isn't enough to get him fired up. Kousei pats his back, telling him to make his victory hard. Sen grumbles, but agrees.
In his waiting room, Eijirou pumps himself up, recalling how much carbon-high food he'd been eating, and starting every morning with a small amount of activated charcoal. Denki, who visited him, cheers him on, and Eijirou responds with just as much cheer.
Tetsutetsu, in a similar vein, is excited beyond belief, because he's well aware of how similar his quirk is to Eijirou, and he wants to know just how well they compare. Pony, though not understanding where his rivalry comes from, cheers for him.
Neitou visits Itsuka, and tells her only one thing: win. Itsuka agrees, knowing that this is their chance to prove that 1-B and 1-A are just as strong as each other.
Juuzou is visited by Kojirou, who makes him swear to not lose to anyone but him. There are sparks of a rivalry there, and Juuzou swears to stand upon that podium.
Tooru is, unexpectedly, met with Mina, and they both rave about how exciting it all is, and they promise to meet each other in the later rounds to finish the battle they started in King of the Hill.
Momo and Ochako sit by themselves, as their friends prepare in their own rooms. They recall how their fight never truly ended, with continuous offence on Momo's part and constant defence on Ochako's. Though they're in different rooms, they both swear to beat the other.
-
Battle 1: Aoyama Yuuga vs Honenuki Juuzou
The five minutes are up, and the first battle begins, Yuuga and Juuzou entering the stage. The pros in the stadium cheer out of respect, the bell rings, and the fight begins.
Yuuga shoots a laser from his navel, just as Juuzou reaches to the ground. The laser is enough to disrupt Juuzou, and he decides to play defensive, ducking and weaving between lasers.
It isn't long before Yuuga's stomach begins to cramp, his bursts becoming shorter and shorter. Soon enough, has no choice but to stop less he throws up then and there, and Juuzou takes the chance to touch the ground, the concrete under Yuuga turning into much, making him fall until half of his torso is under the ground.
Knowing he can no longer fight, and escaping was impossible when Juuzou resolidifies the ground, Yuuga resigns.
Mic yells, loud and clear, "And the winner is Mudman!"
Battle 2: Ashido Mina vs Shiozaki Ibara
As Yuuga is freed from the ground, Aizawa comments that the match-ups may be by chance, but some people just have bad luck. Mic agrees, but also reckons that skill can definitely overpower luck.
Mina and Ibara walk onto the stage, and their fight begins. Ibara reacts first, lashing her vines out at Mina, who swiftly dodges to the side, her feet gliding across the acid she secreets.
Ibara is just as fast, however, and she's more battle smart, as she changes her trajectory to where Mina goes, rather than where she is. Like that, her vines wrap around Mina's torso and lifts her from the ground.
But, just as she tries to throw Mina out of the ring, Mina, (by instinct), covers herself in highly abrasive acid, and Ibara's vines dissolve. Mina falls to the ground, and realises what this means. So does Ibara, who changes her strategy to form multiple layers of vines, trying to use density to her advantage, but Mina's acid is too strong to do much.
In the end, Mina breaks through her fortress of vines and pushes Ibara out of the ring, leaving 'Acid Trip' as the victor.
Battle 3: Hagakure Tooru vs Kendou Itsuka
Mic calls out for the next battle, and Itsuka and Tooru walk in. As they do, Mic helpfully reminds the crowd of their quirks: Kousen (Tooru) with 'Invisibility', and Battle Fist (Itsuka) with 'Big Fist'. Aizawa hums, and monotonously informs him that Tooru's quirk name is outdated.
While Mic is confused by this, the bell rings and the battle ensues.
Now, Itsuka makes a big mistake, and that's evident by her first move. She immediately grows her fist and throws a punch at Tooru. Only for Tooru to catch it, crossing her arms over her head to do so.
It's then that Itsuka realises that Tooru isn't just 'invisible'. She's buff as fuck.
That realisation makes her panic, and Tooru uses it to her advantage, running forth and slamming her elbow into Itsuka's gut. Itsuka kicks her away, enlarging her fist once more, though to a smaller, more controllable size, and goes to swat her.
But, this time, Tooru doesn't respond with her physical strength. No, she drops to the ground to avoid Itsuka's attack, and, as she does, removes her shirt. Itsuka becomes flustered, knowing that Tooru would quickly gain the advantage, and tries to strike her once more.
She's too slow, her larger fist making for a bigger swing, and Tooru jumps back and out of the way, throwing her trousers on the ground, and suddenly she's gone.
Panicking, Itsuka grows her hand even more, soon becoming the same size as the ring, and she begins to twist, letting her hand comb through the entire ring in an attempt to find Tooru.
Hidden from the human eye, Tooru ducked under the large hand, and keeps her body low as she runs in, fist reeling back as she gets closer, until she's finally by Itsuka's side, and she puts her entire body's weight into a punch, straight into Itsuka's side.
Itsuka stumbles back, desperately trying to hit back at the angle she was struck, but her hand swings into thin air. Tooru punches her once more, again and again, until it finally stop, Itsuka falling onto her butt - outside of the ring.
"KOUSEN WINS!"
Battle 4: Iida Tenya vs Hatsume Mei
The next round is... interesting. As in canon, Mei uses Tenya as free advertisement all the way through, disappointing some heroes who wanted to see Ingenium's little brother fight, and gaining the interest of others, who want to see more of the support student who made it into the final games, just to promote her work.
Tenya also displays an impressive amount of adaptability, faced with unfamiliar support items he's only been faced with today.
Battle 5: Kaibara Sen vs Todoroki Shouto
Sen knows he's going to lose. But he won't make it easy. At the very least, he will prove himself a worthy enough match to the son of Endeavour.
In the stands, Endeavour's presence is undeniable, as he watches Shouto walk into the ring. See, just before the match started, Endeavour approached him, displaying disgust that he had yet to win any of the games, despite passing them, and reckons that he could win overwhelmingly if he just used his fire.
And Shouto despises that. His gaze is on Endeavour as he enters the ring, before its forced away as the bell rings.
As he usually does, he shoots forth a large, strong ice-wall, intent on finishing the match as soon as he could, just to prove that he didn't need his father's fire.
But Sen isn't having any of that, rotating his arms fast enough to drill into the ice, breaking through in a matter of moments.
The stadium begins to stir, enticed by the idea of someone standing a chance against Endeavour's son and-
Shouto slams an pillar of ice into Sen's torso, sending him flying and out of the ring. The arena goes silent.
"D... Don't mind...!"
"Don't mind!"
Despite Shouto being the victor, all words are aimed at Sen. Sen hates that he barely lasted a minute, but at least he lasted past the first attack.
In the stands, Izuku watches Shouto melt his ice, and his heart clenches at the solemn look in his eyes.
Battle 6: Kirishima Eijirou vs Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu
Now, this is what the pros were looking forward to. While previous matches have had their own interesting qualities, as Yuuga fought until he couldn't anymore, Ibara's vines were melted by Mina's acid, Tooru proving her strength and stealth, Mei advertising herself with Tenya's aid, and Shouto proving why he's the son of the second ranked hero, this battle is gritty.
Two kids with quirks that improve their defence significantly getting into a slug fest, as they challenge the other, finding out for themselves whose defence lasted longer and which was harder.
It's a match full of both offence and defence, whittling away at each other, until one of them finally dropped.
And it's not the one who had a diet specifically for his quirk.
Eight minutes go by, punching and punching, before Tetsutetsu's finally exhausted all he could from his quirk, and Eijirou lands a hardened hook to his jaw. Tetsutetsu is too exhausted to continue and surrenders, but Eijirou holds a hand out to him.
Midnight and Mic gush over the comradery.
Battle 7: Midoriya Izuku vs Shinsou Hitoshi
Izuku had been preparing for this since the match-ups were announced, his blood boiling every time he thought back to how Shinsou called him a kyou. Not Kyou, a kyou. Hollow, because that's what quirkless people were.
His heart thumps with rage, and he trembles with it as he walks onto the stage, Shinsou walking up the opposite side with a damningly smug smirk on his face. As if he'd already forgotten how easy it was for Izuku to throw him off the throne.
Mashirao, Kyouka, and Setsuna watch from the stands, and they all desperately want Izuku to win.
Aizawa watches, bringing out Shinsou's profile, and staring directly at his quirk's name: Brainwash. He wonders if Izuku will be able to win.
The bell rings and Shinsou wastes no time, "We meet again, kyou."
Izuku's spine shivers, and he doesn't even bother reaching for his katana, darting at Shinsou and swinging his right fist at him. Shinsou fumbles, stumbling to the left and out of Izuku's swing.
"Not gonna say anything? Ha! Should have known those freaks warned you. Who was it: that monkey?"
Oh, that was it. Izuku takes a risk. He knows that it must have something to do with responding, because that's what he saw in the Entrance Exam, and what Mashirao, Kyouka, and Setsuna remembered. But no quirk was without its limits, and there was a common trick to quirks that affected the mind.
So, he grabs his katana, bringing the blunted tip to his chest, and he speaks, "You think you're hero material!?"
Shinsou jumps, but he reacts as fast as possible, dragging Izuku into his quirk's trap. Izuku goes limp, his mind falling blank, and his chest drops with it.
Right into the tip of his katana. It digs right between his ribs, winding him, and the pain brings him right back from Shinsou's brainwashing. He continues, even as Shinsou scrambles to do something, "You're nothing but an entitled asshole!"
Once again, Shinsou tries to capture him, but Izuku falls onto his katana once more and comes back, gaining his footing when he does.
"What gives you the right!? Everyone in this arena has worked their asses off to get here! Everyone but you!"
Shinsou flinches, brainwashing Izuku for the third time, but it's for naught as Izuku gets back, and he's struck with this abrupt realisation that, oh, he's screwed.
Izuku, done with facing him, sheathes his katana once more, lunging at Shinsou and ducking under his pathetic hook. He slams his feet on the ground, twisting his body as he swings his fist up, right into Shinsou's abdomen.
Shinsou stumbles back several times, winded and on the verge of throwing up, until his foot steps onto the edge of the ring, and he falls onto the grass.
"And we have a winner!" Mic roars. "KYOU!" Around the stadium, people begin to clap, nowhere near as enthusiastic as the other fights, as if they couldn't quite believe it. Despite it being a hero student versus a gen ed.
Izuku doesn't pay it any mind, too busy glowering down at Shinsou. "Knock-knock," he says through gritted teeth.
Shinsou blinks, confused beyond belief. "Wh-Who's there...?"
Izuku sighs, his rage subceeding. "See? You can't help but respond." With that, he walks away, and Shinsou falls silent.
Battle 8: Uraraka Ochako vs Yaoyorozu Momo
Both of them are excited as they walk onto the ring. The fact that they're the last match-up is both exciting and full of pressure, as they have to follow up on every match that came before them. Neither of them are particularly confident in themselves, but there's one thing they share.
The desire to win.
The match starts with a 'DING', and they waste no time to finish what they started last game. Except, this time, they're both prepared. In King of the Hill, Ochako had been taken by surprise, left to follow only what she saw and her instincts, and Momo only had a few minutes of preparation, half of which was used to prepare for Tenya.
This time, they've had more than enough time to come up with their own strategies.
Once again, the crowd are not disappointed, as they both rush in, strategies clashing at once.
Ochako has had enough of constant defence, and is on pure offence, pushing past any strike that lands on her, intent on touching Momo at least once.
Momo goes a different route, creating several small items from her skin, her outer layer gone before the match started. Each item is sacrificed, as Ochako's fingers land on them instead of her skin, sending them into the air.
Their fight is close-combat all the way, and both of them are thriving, using their combat prowess to get close to the other. Despite how this should be in Ochako's favour, Momo holds up strong, landing several strong hits on Ochako's body, while using her small objects to block Ochako's quirk.
Then it changes. Ochako's mind rushes, and she finds her strategy morphing. No longer was it completely her own - her strategy was to use Momo's against her.
Momo makes a muffled noise of confusion, as Ochako kicks back, far away. She thinks about it, trying to piece together what Ochako was aiming for by retreating, when she realises, and her head shoots up to the sky, where all those small objects she made float.
Ochako grins, and pushes her fingers together just as Momo realises. Fast to react, Momo creates a thick sheet of sorbothane, coating herself and letting it absorb the impact of those objects falling onto her.
Ochako uses this momentary distraction to rush in, stretching her hand out just as Momo removes the sheet. Momo tries - she really does. She creates a taser from the patch of skin Ochako's hand reaches out to, but the sparkles of her creation alert Ochako, and she moves her hand down.
The taser drops onto Ochako's wrist, shocking her enough to let go, but the damage is done. Momo is in the air, and Ochako is one step closer to victory.
Momo creates a grappling hook, aiming for the ground, but Ochako has experience with it from Mei, and she grabs the rope before the hook can sink into the ground. Holding onto the rope with both hands, she drags it over her shoulder, and pulls as hard as she can, throwing Momo outside of the ring.
"AND WITH THAT, WE HAVE OUR EIGHT WINNER! URAVITYYYYY!"
Ochako, heaving heavy breaths, lets her quirk go, and Momo drops to the ground. At first, Momo bites her lip, frustrated beyond belief. But then the arena erupts, applauses sent to both of them.
"That was a great fight!"
"You two should join my agency!"
"WOO!"
Ochako smiles, walking over to Momo, and she holds her hand out, pinky bent out - a promise to not use her quirk. "Let's fight again!"
Momo brightens, her frustration washing away by Ochako's encouragement. "Yes!" She takes her hand, and Ochako raises both of their arms up, the arena's cheers only increasing as a response.
-

Setting up rivalry now, and don't you worry - I will not forget them!!
I promise I have nothing against 1-B. They just got unlucky, I swear. Juuzou's still in though ;))

https://archiveofourown.org/works/61943443/chapters/158395027
I wrote a longfic! And just posted ch 1!
This is fully written so I'll be posting a chapter every couple days - just need to do a lot of html editing.
The short version: Izuku needs a place to stay for a few weeks. Katsuki happens to have an empty guest room. Friends to lovers and other domestic shenanigans ensue.
(AO3 summary and all details about ratings, tags, etc. are below, feel free to skip to that, I have a lot of yapping to yap)
This story takes place 3-ish years after Izuku gets the suit. It assumes that the 431 epilogue happened.
The timeframe of the fic is not that long (I mean, it's right there in the title) but this is written as a slow burn of sorts. It covers the whole story, from them realising "oh, I like you" all the way to... well, I'm not going to tell you exactly how it ends yet, but it's definitely a happy ending.
This story is about falling in love, but it's also about friendships, about asking for help, and about letting those around you support you. It features appearances by most of the UA students we meet in canon, Inko, the Bakugous, All Might... you name it. i had a lot of fun exploring their different voices and POVs.
Also cats. There's cats in it. And a lot of coffee cups.
The fic is on the fluffier side, but has it's angsty moments. (I swear, you leave Bakugou alone with his thoughts for 5 minutes and that yumy yummy angst just writes itself). there's some humour in there too, because why not.
It's primarily a bkdk/izukat/whatever you call that ship story, and most of the fic is from their POV/focused on Izuku and Katsuki.
That said, I had a lot of fun making space for some of the less-developed canon characters (e.g. Sato) to have their own dialogue and moments... and some of the more fleshed out characters outside of our main pair too.
Speaking of which, that's the name of the first chapter: Making Space
The fic includes snippets of texting between the UA students too, especially in this first chapter. I surprised myself by really enjoying writing that. It also made me learn a lot of css. Check it out! It turned out quite pretty I think.
Ok, now the specifics:
Rating: T

flirting gone wrong!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: camie utsushimi x gn!reader x toru hagakure
summary: camie decides to ask you out on a date, not aware you're actually in a relationship – and that your girlfriend is standing right next to you two!
tags: established relationship (toru & reader), silly & wholesome fluff, flirty!camie, camie apologizing to toru, use of y/n
Tumblr media
"you're like totes a cutie! we should defo hang one day! how about you gimme your number~?"
camie had been flirting with you ever since the remedial course had ended and you two had left the building. you had been trying to mention that you already had a girlfriend, but camie just kept talking at you, not giving you a chance to mention your girlfriend…
"listen camie, you're really nice, but…"
you two stopped in front of the building. you were just about to mention your girlfriend, when out of nowhere she appeared – like usual!
"y/n?"
your head spun around and you started looking for toru. as did camie, who was a bit surprised by hearing a voice without seeing any person nearby.
"toru!"
you finally spotted her, wearing just some shorts and a tank top, almost blending in with the background, if you didn't look carefully.
"who is she..?"
toru glanced at camie, but even without seeing her, you knew who she meant. yet instead of answering, camie took the initiative.
"wait, was your girlfriend picking ya up? aw man, shoulda known a hottie like you got a girl! i'm like totes sorry for hitting on your babe!"
toru quickly started to understand the situation a bit better. and here she was, having worried you might try to flirt with some girls from another school while she wasn't around. when in reality, you had been loyal as always and camie was actually the one hitting on you…

Anyway time for me to have a little fun with sharing my Bnha headcanons before I go on another rant about them. Assume I hc everyone as Autistic unless I say otherwise.
Below you will find hcs for Class 1-A :]
Momo Yaoyorozu - This is a controversial one, I think.. but He/Him Trans Man. I like to think he can give himself top surgery with his quirk, by taking the fat or whatever it is he uses from his chest instead of elsewhere when he uses his quirk. He's also Biromantic and Demisexual.
Koji Kouda - Cis Guy who uses He/They, only talks around people he's comfortable with, because he's autistic, of course. Communicates with sign language. And just because I'm tired of people making the shy or and/or ugly characters innocent sex repulsed Asexuals, he's Bisexual and Aromantic. Also he swears like a sailor around people he's close with. Teehee!
Katsuki Bakugo - Cis Guy, Any Pronouns, Deaf and Gay. Either that or a deeply closeted Homophobe who uses he/him, it depends on the timeline really.
Izuku Midoriya - Cis Guy, He/Him, also Straight but is very a supportive and loud ally. He has ADHD, Anxiety and chronic pain in everything, but especially in his hands. Also probably has some nerve damage, poor guy. Definitely has PTSD too. Yikes.
Shoto Todoroki - Cis Guy, He/Him. Unlabelled but is definitely Queer, doesn't care to think about it. Blind in one eye, or at very least has damaged sight in one eye. Also has less control over that side of his face. Severe PTSD, of course.
Denki Kaminari - Trans Guy, He/him. He's on Testosterone and goes stealth in public. A proud Bisexual though. Has some kind of seizure disorder as a quirk side effect, and slight chronic pain. Maybe even a tiny bit brain damaged, shorting out can't be good for him.
Mina Ashiso - Cis Girl, She/It, likes to play into the alien thing she's got going on. Cupioromantic/Aromantic and Unlabelled. She goes off vibes not gender and doesn't care to label it.
Yuuga Aoyama - Cis Guy, He/Him, Aromantic Asexual! Poor guy has IBS and a numb pain in his stomach.
Ochako Uraraka - Non-binary, She/They. Also Bisexual. She's probably got some kind of eating disorder, she needs food :(
Hanta Sero - Trans Woman, She/Her. Looks and dresses the exact same way as in canon, except she's a girl now. She's a lesbian too, good for her, good for her. She seems like the kinda girl who needs glasses but wears contacts instead, I don't know why.
Tsuyu Asui - Genderfluid He/They/Her, Doesn't really care what he's called. She's a frog, those guys aren't really binary. She's bisexual.
Ejirou Kirishima - Cis Gay Guy who uses he/him. I mean.. look at him.. no straight man is that obsessed with men.
Fumikage Tokoyami - Cis Guy, He/Him. Gay. Dark shadow is his twin but some weird shit happened in the womb and now she appears as a combination of his quirk and hers, she is a trans woman who uses she/it. She's bisexual. People don't believe their twins.
Mashiro Ojirou - Trans guy, He/They but doesn't bother to correct people if they just use He/Him. Also he's Straight.
Rikido Sato - Nonbinary, They/Them. They are still masculine of course. They experience migraines quite often. Also they are Pansexual. They aren't Autistic.
Tenya Iida - Cis Guy? He/Him? (Spoiler: She's a she/her trans woman deep in the closet). Doesn't think about gender or sexuality because she's so convinced she needs to be exactly like Tensei (Her parents kinda suck at giving her a sense of individuality). Lesbian, but says she's straight until she figures her gender out. Chronic pain in the legs. Ripping her engines out must've fucked her up a little.
Toru Hagakure - Cis Girl, She/Her. She's Omnisexual with a preference for men. She's actually really fucking strong, she's gotta make up for being invisible of course. She's not Autistic.
Kyoka Jiro - Transfem Bigender He/Her, Her parents are musician, she was taught voice control very early. He isn't on Estrogen though, and doesn't have plans to start. She's a Lesbian. Has chronic migranes due to her enhanced hearing.
Mezo Shoji - Agender, He/Him. He doesn't care for gender, but still presents masculine most of the time so he goes with he/him for convenience. Another Gay right here.
Minoru Mineta - Cis Guy, he/him. He's bisexual. He is NOT autistic.
I don't want him to be the last one so here's my sisters favourite,
Himiko Toga - Genderfluid, Any Pronouns. An Anemic bisexual. Severe PTSD.

SO uh... Remember that time I came up with all those Warrior Cat versions of the Danganronpa cast? Well guess who's been chronically addicted to playing Clangen for the last month.
I made these using a program called CatMaker which is based on Clangen, but unfortunately there doesn't yet exist a function to export the cats you make so you can play with them in the game. So this is the next best thing I could do

For Halloween, Marc decides to go into school as Count Marcula, a spooky yet romantic vampiric writer. His costume is really detailed, slicked back hair, cape, suit, gloves, super realistic fake fangs, red eye contacts, fake nails, fake ears, you name it.
He speaks throughout the day in a Transylvanian accent (I vant to suck your blood, that kinda voice), brings an umbrella to school, and comes out of an actual coffin.
Count Marcula: Good evening. (Fake blood dripping down his cheek.) Nathaniel: *Nose bleeds from the hotness.*
I'd love some scenes of him scaring the shit out of Chloe and Lila, flirting with Nathaniel, and being a hammy vampire in front of the Science Kids and Akuma Class.
Jean: *Dressed as the Phantom of the Opera* Daaaamn.
Nathaniel: *Dressed as Eraserhead*… He. Is. HOT! THAT’S MINE! HE’S MINE! *Shoves Ivan and Kim out of the way and runs into Marc’s arms* I SAW HIM FIRST! YA’LL BETTER BACK OFF!
Ivan: *Dressed as Jack Skellington* … Did he just-
Kim: *Dressed as Thor* I think he did.
Alix: *Dressed as Miss Joke* Never underestimate the power of a short bisexual.
Louis: *Dressed as Bob Ross* Maybe he can suck some actual talent out of someone and put it in you!
Nathaniel: *Sitting in Marc’s lap* SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH, LOUIS!
Louis: … Ouch.
Lila: *Dressed as Queen Elizabeth 1; walks in on Marc who appears to be biting Nath’s neck in the locker room* AAAAAHHHH!! *Runs away screaming*
Marc: Vat is her problem?
Nathaniel: Don’t know, don’t care; just keep licking the frosting off my neck. Who the hell even started that food fight?
Austin A: *Dressed as Heather C* GUYS! MARC’S A VAMPIRE!
Austin B: *Dressed as Bill Cipher* Yeah, it’s a great costume, right?
Austin A: NO! Listen to me! I walked into the bathroom, and there he was at the sink, and he didn’t have a reflection in the mirror*
Austin T: *Dressed as Christine Daaé* … Armsy, have you been eating too much candy?
Austin A: You’re not listening to me! *Austin Q slaps him across the face* Did you just slap me?
Austin Q: *Dressed as Kim Possible* I was calming you down!
Austin A: How was that supposed to calm me down?! There is a vampire in this fucking school and he’s gonna suck my blood!
Austin T: Why would he suck your blood?
Austin A: ‘Cause, look at me.
Kim: Guys, it’s time to face facts… We have to kill Marc.
Akuma Class sans Nath: …
Marinette: *Dressed as Zatanna* WHAT?! Dude! We’re not killing Marc!
Kim: Why not? He’s a vampire.
Max: *Dressed as Electra from Starlight Express* Kim, for the last time, Marc is not a vampire. It’s just a very realistic costume.
Nino: *Dressed as Bruno* He did bite into that apple without his fangs coming off.
Myléne: *Dressed as Sally* Oh, and his skin started getting all smokey when he was outside in the sun.
Juleka: *Dressed as Jason* And he bit Nath’s neck.
Adrien: *Dressed as Harry Potter* Nath is looking kinda paler than before.
Marinette: Guys, Marc is not a vampire, okay? And if he is, then may I be struck by- *Thunder crashes outside* … May a bat fly through that door in the next three seconds.
Marinette: See? He’s not-
*A bat flies in through the window*
Kim: *Jumps into Max’s arms* KILL IT! KILL IT NOW!
*The students all hide under their desks for a few seconds, and and Marinette pokes her head out, she finds Marc sitting atop the teacher’s desk*
Marinette: … Marc… Did you see a bat just now?
Marc: Can’t say that I have.
*Thunder and lightning crash outside, cutting the lights off, and when they come back on, Marc’s nowhere in sight*
Marinette: … Okay, I’m sold.
Alix: I still think this is bull.
Denise: *Dressed as Luisa* Guys, he’s not a vampire.
Alix: Told you.
Nino: Then kindly explain why he has no reflection!
Cosette: Dressed as Static Shock; about to answer, but pauses* … Maybe… He’s so pale that… The light-
Alya: *Dressed in a Clovers cheer uniform* Mhm. Mhm. The light. Go on.
Cosette: … I don’t know, man! He cosplays! He’s got the mechanics of it all down! He could cosplay as Hagakure!
Reshma: *Dressed as Sailor Moon* He somehow made the blood smell like copper.
Ivan: Did you hear yourself just now?
Simon: *Dressed as a Ghostbuster* If Marc’s a vampire, then… I’m the Queen of England.
*Just then, Marc walks by with Nathaniel unconscious in his arms*
Lacey: *Dressed as Tinker Bell* Marc… Whatcha doin’?
Marc: Nath fell asleep. I’m just taking him… Somevhere. *Leaves*
Marinette: So, Simon, would you like your crown to be silver or gold?
Chloé: *Dressed as Elle Woods; going into the basement* How dare she make me grab another stupid textbook from down here?! Ugh! Now where are they- *Sees a coffin in the middle of the room* … H-how long has this been here?
*Going against every instinct, Chloé opens the coffin and screams when she finds Nathaniel in it*
Chloé: WHAT THE HELL?!
Marc: You shouldn’t have come down here, Miss Bourgeois.
Chloé: … AAAAAHHH!! *Runs upstairs* VAMPIRES ARE REAL!
Nathaniel: *Groggily wakes up* Hey, is everything alright?
Marc: Yes, go back to sleep, Nath.
Nathaniel: Alright. *Shuts the coffin door*
Aurore: *Dressed as Eclipsa* …
Marc: …
Aurore/Marc: … *Nod to each other, open their parasols, and go their respective ways*

Now I'm interested, what are some of your favorite picks for the cast? Any choices that don't make sense on paper but you have an odd reason for?
Oh for the bnha pmd thing? Okay so they're all pokemon and like. I have. I have Thoughts™.
Like we brianstormed half of this ages ago in the discord and then I made a joke and we brought it back up and Aki is making their own spin on it now(I love this for you btw it's fun and I love seeing the overlap on our thoughts)
ANYWAY: Who is what pokemon!
So first off. All of 1-A are first stage evolution because they're baby.
Izuku - Oh boy. Short version: Mew 3 but thinks he's a Shaymin. Long story will swing back to it eventually
Katsuki - Riolu! I had narrowed it down to Riolu, Cyndaquil, or Mankey, all for appearance and vibes and some in the power category. But then it was pointed out that Riolu evolves through /friendship. and I just. The narrative there? Beautiful.
Ochako - Cleffa! They're from space!
Kiri - Sandshrew! I knew he'd be a ground or rock type and Sandshrew's a vibe and they're all pointy, but also because my AU has Kiri and Tetsutetsu as siblings I wanted something to fit both of them as they'd be the same thing, and main Sandshrew is ground but the Alolan one is part Steel for Tetsutetsu
Shoto - Vulpix, still a Chimera so he's both Kantonian and Alolan.
Denki - Pichu. Like how can I not he already gets the Pikachu jokes but Pichu is extra baby and can't yet control the electricity!
Jiro - Noibat! Just fuckin look at it!
Tsu - Froakie. Frog!!! Will eventually be a Greninja and look at the similarities!
Fumikage - Murkrow. Once again. Obvious choice.
Hagakure - Kecleon! Invisible baby!
Ojiro - Aipom! Monkey! Tail is a hand!
Sato - Milcrey but like. Big one.
Momo - Eevee. Simple but many possibilities!
Himiko - Zorua. Known for disguising!
Mei - Tinkaton. It just. It's pink and it builds weapons!!!!
Monoma - Smeargle. he copies things!
All Might - Palafin. IT'S LITERALLY THE ONLY PERFECT CHOICE
Recovery Girl - Blissey. Nurse pokemon!!
Present Mic - Chatot. I have to make the gay bird be the other gay bird it's a pmd story I have to!!
Midnight - Slazzle
Cementoss - Conkledurr
Power Loader - Exadrill
Nezu - Ironically, the one random Human who got yeeted into the pokemon world.
AfO - A VERY pissed off Mewtwo.
-
Going into the Todoroki drama for a second:
Enji is an Incineroar(Seriously LOOK AT IT).
Rei is an Alolan Ninetails, chosen because 1.) compatible with Incineroar and 2.) can make both fire and ice kids.
We're /kinda/ breaking some of how in-game genetics and abilities work for the kids to match their canon powers.
Toya is a Kantonian Ninetails but he got Snow Cloak instead of Flash Fire
Fuyumi is all Alolan
Natsuo is the opposite of Toya, being Alolan but having Flash Fire instead of Snow Cloak.
Shoto, as mentioned above, is a Chimera. So he got both the Kanto and Alola forms in one.
-
Swinging back to Izuku's bullshit: Basically Dad for One but with me yoinking from my other Monster AU.
AfO being a very pissed off Mewtwo. Has become the thing he hated and tried to make another Mew, resulting in Izuku. Baby Izuku ends up teleporting his ass out of there and is found by Inko(a Shaymin). Imprints on her as a mother figure and unconsciously uses the transform ability to copy her form. Inko does not know what happened there but that is a baby and it's hers now damn it. Izuku knows Inko isn't his mom but isn't aware that he's not a Shaymin.

Another rough draft!
Righteous Anger
Izuku hadn't meant for it to happen.
In all honesty, he hadn't even been thinking at all when it happened.
All he could really remember before those cold, black and teal energy tendrils came out of his hands was seeing his mother in that cage, suspended over that bottomless pit.
That's when his instincts took over.
Ever since that fateful trip to the doctor ten years ago, Izuku took it upon himself to protect his mother. He had vowed to himself to never give her another reason to cry like she did on that day, and he took that vow very seriously.
It's why he tried to the best of his ability to hide Bakugou's bullying from her (how did she miss his burnt school supplies and uniforms?).
It's why he offered his shoulder to cry on (he could never let it be the other way around).
It's why he accepted her homemade hero costume and food gifts while he was in the hospital (why wasn't she this supportive before he got his Quirk).
She was being held hostage on Parents' Day of all days by some sort of masked lunatic who kept ranting and raving about 'destroying their bright futures by murdering their parents in front of them.'
Well, over his dead body was he going to let something happen to his mother.
Anger coursed through his body as he, Momo, Todoroki, Hagakure, and Uraraka created a diversion to get the drop on the villain. To his horror, it failed. The villain then opened the cage door, lit a match, and threw it into the gasoline pit below.
He froze, his brain short-circuiting as the terror of losing his one remaining parent overwhelmed him. Then, it gave way to rage. It gave way to white-hot rage as his teeth bared, feet drove into the ground as he got One For All ready.
Over his dead body was he going to let his mother die because he couldn't be quick enough to save her.
One For All activated, the green electricity covering his body -
And then the tendrils appeared.
Time stopped. This was not One For All, at least, he didn't think so.
They hurt. They felt as cold as Todoroki's ice as intense pain shot through his arm. He tried to pull them back, tried to call them off as tears blurred his vision (God, it hurt so bad, not even his bones breaking hurt this much), but it only seemed to intensify them. He was scared, so scared as the tendrils pulled him into the air. All he could do before he was slammed into a nearby wall was scream at the top of his lungs,
"RUN!"
What followed next was pandemonium.
More tendrils indiscriminately shot out of his body, slamming into nearby structures and demolishing them, grazing his classmates as they desperately dodged them, their initial mission barely forgotten.
"THIS ISN'T ME!" He desperately screamed, trying to brace himself as he was flung into another wall. "I'M NOT DOING THIS! GET AWAY FROM ME, GET OUT OF HERE!"
ONE FOR ALL, CALM DOWN! Izuku screamed as he was flung around the mock cityscape. He hit wall after wall, pipe after pipe, the adrenaline cushioning the blows as little by little, he resigned himself to his fate. He was going to be stuck up here and his mother was going to die. It was going to be all his fault for not being quick enough with a plan, for not being able to think of a successful strategy -
All of a sudden, the tendrils disappeared.
Wait, didn't that villain say that he made Mr. Aizawa take a dirt nap?
That didn't matter.
What did matter was that he was falling, falling, and everything went blank.
~ ~ ~
When he came to, he found that he was in a barren, black space that was reminiscent of a black hole. He was standing on what looked like concrete or some sort of other gray rock. He had only his hair, his eyes, and his right hand. Everything else was encased in that weird black/purple coloring around him. He wasn't in any pain, but it was rather terrifying being unable to speak or see the majority of his body.
Where was he?
What happened?
Did this have something to do with those tendrils?
"Crap, kid! What have you gotten yourself into, huh?! You could have been killed with how you were being thrown around! Don't do that ever again, you hear me?!"
Who was this?
He was tall and muscular, very bald with a short beard. He looked like a punk rocker, with goggles on his forehead, a leather jacket, and an ammo belt draped around his bare torso. This had to be one of the eight shadows that saved him from an early elimination at the Sports Festival, one of the past One For All users.
So Izuku was right that they helped him win his match against Shinsou.
"Shit! Where the hell's your mouth at?!" the man yelled, his eyes bugging out of his head before got his bearings back.
"Look, my time's running out, so I'll break it all down for you. Nod or shake your head if you understand. Understand?"
When Izuku nodded, he continued.
"The power that just shot out of you was my Quirk. Overtime, as One For All was passed down, our individual Quirk factors mixed into the core of it. Imagine this core resting in the middle of a whirlpool or whatever; these waves are the cultivated power us previous users added to the original Quirk. After so long, the core is starting to expand, making One For All stronger. You following me, kid?"
Izuku nodded. It wasn't like he could do anything else.
"Now, you were focused on saving your mother by capturing that villain. It just so happens that my Quirk, Black Whip, was the best tool in your arsenal for that. That means that luckily for you, you get to meet me first!" He pointed at himself with a proud smile. "I don't want to brag or anything, but I have a pretty cool Quirk… but be careful!" He went from smiling to sober so quickly that it gave Izuku whiplash.
"Black Whip's got the power of One For All backing it, meaning it's gotten much stronger since my time. Righteous anger can be a slippery slope with a Quirk like Black Whip. It's easy for your emotions to get out of control and for you to hurt someone in the fallout. I'm not saying to close off your emotions, just control them. After being passed down through eight people, One For All's become an awesome force. You've got six more Quirks that'll manifest as you improve your body and mind, so be prepared. You're the one that'll complete One For All."
The man started to fade away into a red aura. The black and purple around him was becoming a brighter and brighter light. Muffled, overlapping voices were registering to him, and he jumped when the man reached out and roughly ruffled Izuku's already messy hair, smiling down at him.
"Don't worry! We'll be with you the entire ride, kid!"
~ ~ ~
Izuku's eyes snapped open, and he was back in the mock cityscape. He was laying down on the ground, adults crowding around him and looking worriedly down at him.
"G-Get away!" he screamed, trying to leap to his feet in a bid to run away in case Black Whip triggered again. Overlapping yells of concern assaulted him along with the dizziness that brought him back down to the ground. A pair of hands caught him and laid him back down.
"Young Midoriya, not so fast!" the owner of the hands urged, gently keeping him held onto the ground. "You got banged up pretty badly, and you're running on adrenaline right now. You have no way of knowing how hurt you are until it wears off, so stay still until the Transport Robots get here."
All Might.
He was wearing the same outfit as the villain… wait a second. All Might was the villain who had kidnapped their families. All Might was with him right now, the paragon of worry as they waited for the robots to take him to Recovery Girl.
Was this a set up?
Seemingly reading his mind, the Symbol of Peace nodded guiltily. "It was a trial for Parents Day to test your rescue skills if a loved one were in danger. Your mother is fine, no one was in any real danger, but it was believed that anything lower stakes would have made you all not perform at your best."
The older man had the decency to look remorsefully down at his successor.
"We didn't imagine One For All would go haywire like it did, though. We're not blaming you, Young Midoriya," he said, raising a placating hand as Izuku tried speaking up. "We're not blaming you at all. We stopped the exercise as soon as you started getting injured. Aizawa erased One For All and caught you before you hurt yourself even more from the fall you took." He smiled a little sadly at the recollection. "I don't think I've ever seen him look so worried before."
Mr. Aizawa worried? About him? Maybe it was the headache talking, but that sounded utterly ridiculous. Mr. Aizawa hated him, always singled him out for one reason or another. Why would he be worried about Izuku of all people?
Unless he was worried about everyone else being hurt because of him?
Yeah, that made way more sense.
It wouldn't be a good look for UA if an entire class's parents were killed by an out of control Quirk on Parents' Day.
"Look, Young Midoriya, I don't have a clue what just happened, but I promise you that I'll find out to the best of my ability," All Might continued, the beeping of the Transport Robots almost drowning him out. "Don't worry. You're not alone in this. I promise you."

So… I really enjoy making OCs. And I want to start posting about my next gen OCs, specifically those I have dubbed “Class 3-A” so this is going to serve as a character introduction under the cut, with a brief description of all 20 characters quirks and parents (if their parents are canon characters).
:readmore:
Todoroki Hanzo-
Quirk: Chemical Fire. By creating various chemicals and igniting them he can produce various types and colors of flames
Parents: Shoto Todoroki and Momo Yaoyorozu
Midoriya Toshinori-
Quirk: Telekinesis. If he touches something or someone with all 5 fingers at once then he can control its movements with his mind for the next hour, though he can only actively move so much matter at a time
Parents: Izuku Midoriya and Ochako Uraraka
Kirigou Hana-
Quirk: Shrapnel. She has the ability to cause explosions that shoot off tiny bits of hardened material from her hands
Parents: Katsuki Bakugou and Eijiro Kirishima
Iida Takehiko-
Quirk: Engine. His quirkless mother paired with the dominance of the Iida Engine quirk led to his quirk being Identical to his fathers.

Aoi's last words
'I almost froze her... That was close.' Todoroki Shoto thought, feeling guilty and worried about Hagakure Toru after eavesdropping on the girl's and Ojiro's conversation.
Ignoring Yuga Aoyama's voice asking random students where was he, he couldn't neglect the sudden headache that has been over his head since fighting the villain in USJ. Though somehow he managed to stand on his footing and able to survive the attack. He messaged his forehead a bit, trying to ease the pain.
"Are you okay, Todoroki?" Shoto looks to his left and spots his classmate, Yaoyorozu Momo walking toward him.
"Just a headache." He grunted.
Then why is he seeing red? With an iron smell along?
"Todoroki?!" Momo called out to him and he saw her move backward in fright while looking above them. Peeking up, he saw a spiral. And red metallic continued to drop on his pretty face.
Gasp and shouting can be heard around him, telling him to move and things about danger. But Todoroki only found himself frozen, standing like a rock as his face get wetter by blood.
His eyes are glued to the spiral, as the pain is getting stronger and his head feels like it would explode.
He felt his butt sting as he fell backward to the ground and was choked out of the air as a heavy body fell on top of him. All he could see was a person in red with a strong smell of blood. Shoto gagged at the sight just before he passed out from exhaustion.
.
.
.
Shoto heaves a heavy breath as he kept on pouncing his fist into the air. The sun glistened brightly on top of his head, and his shirt got wetter from all the sweat.
He swiftly thrust two more blows upfront, followed by a swift duck as if his imaginary opponent just sent him a punch. Like any martial arts classes he had taken so far, he follows every movement perfectly due to his regular training.
Then only for a sudden and short moment, a portrait flashed in his head.
The girl from that day, red everywhere.
He winced. Why did she suddenly appear in his head?
Ever since Shoto awoke from his short coma, he had never heard any news about the girl.
Her sudden appearance was a mystery, and none of his teachers ever said anything about her. Even the investigated villains, claimed they know nothing about her nor the out-of-nowhere spiral.
What was mysterious regarding himself more, was that he was more worried about her well-being, which is weird.
The girl was someone unfamiliar. Shoto was sure he had never seen her before. But he got a gut that she was faintly familiar and connected to him.
A long-lost family, perhaps?
'Does that bastard have a secret chi-'
"Shoto." Upon hearing the sudden voice calling his name, Shoto tilted his head to the engawa and spotted a buffed man with red hair, similar to his half on the left.
"What?"
"Get ready, we're going to the hospital." The man, who is Shoto's father said as he put on his watch.
"why?" Shoto hates it when it comes to talking to his bastard of a father, but he can't help but get curious.
"That girl just woke up and we're needed there."
The boy's mismatched eyes of turquoise and grey widen a little.
"And why 'we'? She got nothing to do with you." He retorted.
The father, Todoroki Enji inwardly sighed, ignoring the fact that his son is displeased with his presence. "Not my choice since the police are the ones who begged me to go there."
.
..
...
"So you're saying your name is Todoroki Aoi?" Seikagi Ryuiichi, a doctor in his late twenties asked.
"Yes." The girl hoarsely speaks.
Her face held a wary expression, he noted. Doubtful too. And her sat posture even though seems polite, she's sitting from the left foot, her body tense and ready all the time, as if she's waiting for something to strike.
What's she so tense of? He wonders.
"Okay then, Miss Todoroki, I need you to stay calm and lie down. You might hurt your body more after this." The brunette doctor calmly asked.
"I'm fine." The ravenette girl argued. Ryuiichi huffed a displeased air. 'Stubborn'
He can't back off from this. As a doctor, it was his responsibility to keep his patients safe. "Miss Todoroki, Im sorry but you have to lie down no matter what. When you were first admitted to the hospital, you were critically damaged and presumably have no hope to continue your life. I am your doctor and just so you know I only want what is best for you as you are my patient." Ryuiichi argued back firmly. His brown eyes staring a firm yet a gentle look toward the girl's in assurance. "So please, miss, lie down and never take off the wires carelessly ever again."
Even though the girl seems reluctant, she complied with his request and let him attach the wires back to her arms.
While doing so, Ryuiichi can't forget the way she reacted when she first saw the nurse.
As if the nurse is the prey, and she's the hunter. It happened in a blink of an eye. The way She immediately jumped on the nurse despite her weak body and her right hand seems to rush for something on her waist, only to find that something is not where it was supposed to be.
And if it weren't for Eraserhead who arrived in time, the poor nurse probably would be dead.
Ryuiichi sees in her eyes that were painted with turquoise color. That used to hold thousands of tears. Anything about her now matches that she's like a samurai, a fighter, just with no sword. Despite her body condition injured and weak, she seems strong enough to strike and rip off his head in a second and her eyes are similar to the one that intends to kill, yet dubious.
"Miss Todoroki, these two men are Underground Pro Hero, Eraserhead, and Detective Tsukauchi." Ryuiichi motioned his hand toward the messily dark-haired man sitting at the corner of the room then a man in a brown beige coat. "They're gonna ask you some questions. Can you cooperate with them?"
The girl warily nodded, perhaps she's too tired to even talk. But then she's also sharp, never let down her guard.
Ryuiichi heaves a sigh. His hand brushed againts his brown hair as he scratch his unitchy head.
"We'll take it from here." Tsukauchi took the girl's patience record from Ryuiichi's hand.
"Do what you have to." The doctor nodded and gave his space to the detective who just arrived minutes ago before proceeding to leave the room, leaving the cautious girl alone with fully bandaged pro hero Eraserhead, and The Detective.

A Scene Meant to be Secret - Oneshot
Summary: Sero had the worst luck of the entire class and a bad habit of walking into situations that inevitably scarred him for life.
Or where Sero should really stop walking around at night and just sleep instead. Sero's POV of some soft Bakugou and Midoriya.
Pairing: Bakudeku
Rating: T (just for the wound description)
Notes: Here, have another outside POV of BakuDeku. Aizawa's POV was fun and so was this, so I might just keep writing them. Hope you guys enjoy!
Sero had the worst luck of the entire class and a bad habit of walking into situations that inevitably scarred him for life. He wished he could give the seemingly supernatural power away to someone like Mineta or Hagakure who might enjoy using it, but he was cursed to live with it, so he did.
Just last week, he'd walked in on Mina and Kirishima vigorously making out just as she was slipping her hand into his shorts. They were supposed to be studying, but that's what he got for not knocking.
Then, the week before that, he'd found Mineta rifling through a pile of dirty magazines and unsolicited pictures of girls from around the school in the middle of the night. He'd been at the table in the common room, salivating and utterly disgusting.
While Sero didn't know why he'd decided that was a good place to do that, he pushed that out of his mind. Instead of questioning, he burned the pile immediately on the back lawn while Mineta watched and shouted and squirmed. He had the hope that whatever demons or bad luck followed pictures taken without girls' knowledge would be dispelled with the burning of them. Unfortunately, now Mineta starred as his ever present sleep paralysis demon.
Then the week before that, he'd come across Aoyama and a pile of cheese. He hadn't stuck around long enough to find out what that was all about, but nightmares about the scene haunted him just to this day.
So, when he walked down to the common room closer to midnight than lights out, he wasn't really that surprised to hear a scuffle down below.
"Deku," he heard Bakugou growl roughly, and a quiet shushing.
"Ssh, stop being a baby. Do you want Mr. Aizawa to come out and catch us?"
He stalled on the stairs, straining his ears for what exactly was going on. If it wasn't anything crazy, then he could get some juice and just go back to bed. Maybe he could break up whatever fight was brewing before it even started. If it was something weird or crazy... Well, he wasn't equipped to handle that on his own and would just go back to his room without getting anything.
Silently stepping off the last stair, he peaked around the corner. The soft warm light from one of the overhead stove lights illuminated Bakugou and Midoriya sitting by the stove where a steaming bowl and a pot on a burner sat. Steam rose thick from the pot, but neither moved to get it.
Midoriya dipped a rag into the bowl at his elbow. "You need to be more careful, Kacchan. What if you had moved a second slower? You could have lost your eye because of that guy. Why do you have to fight everyone?" he reprimanded, wiping at the blood streaking down from a cut running straight from the corner of Bakugou's tightly closed eye back along the side of his head.
His hands were shaking.
Bakugou laughed hoarsely. "That's rich coming from you, Deku. You're just as bad as I am, you just don't start the fights. I saw you hit that guy. How's your knuckles?"
Silence fell in the room, and Sero fought the urge to swallow. If he did, they'd surely hear him. He'd never seen these two be soft with each other, and why would he have? They'd been at each other's throats since the first day of class.
Midoriya continued bandaging Bakugou's face without comment, still glaring at the other teen. When he was done, he tossed the rag back into the bowl and got up to pour water from the pot into two waiting cups.
"Deku-"
"I'm fine!" Midoriya snapped.
Sero had never heard Midoriya talk to Bakugou like that. His breath caught in his chest, and he held it there. Midoriya turned back as Bakgou caught his fingers. Just that one touch had Sero's mind reeling. What was he witnessing?
"You're shit at lying. Give me your hand."
With a sigh, Midoriya turned and let himself be pulled close until he was standing between Bakugou's knees while he examined his hand between their bodies. The top of Bakugou's head looked like it was touching Midoriya's chest from where Sero stood.
Midoriya flinched above him, and Katsuki murmured, "You're going to have to get this checked out by Recovery Girl in the morning. I think something is broken."
It was so quiet in the dorms, Sero could hear the water boiling in the pot, the sound of every breath they took and how they'd synced up.
"I'll be fine," Midoriya mumbled, and Sero flinched away from the scene as he felt more than heard Bakugou's anger rise.
He took a moment to catch his breath as Bakugou started shouting.
"Stop playing the fucking martyr! You want your hand to get more fucked up than it already is? You want to not be able to move it at all? Is that what you want, Deku? Because it's not-"
Sero peaked out again as Bakugou suddenly went quiet, just panting out his frustration.
Midoriya had his hand over Bakugou's eyes, staring softly down at him. "Breath, Kacchan, you're starting to panic again. Calm down, please. You're going to reopen your wounds."
"I can't calm down when you're always getting hurt," Bakugou growled, curling his fists in Midoriya's t-shirt at his waist, "And then refusing to go to Recovery Girl when there's clearly something wrong. There's nothing wrong with asking for help."
"Says the guy who is way to stubborn to ask for help himself," Midoriya teased, leaning closer though his hand remained over Bakugou's eyes, "So stubborn."
"Same to you."
"I learned how to from you." When he dipped his head down, catching Bakugou's parted lips, Sero couldn't hold in his gasp of surprise.
A hand slapped over his mouth to silence him though, and the other two seemed too preoccupied as Bakugou wrapped his arms around Midoriya's waist to hear him.
The hand dragged Sero away and back up the stairs, holding him hard against a soft chest. When they were finally on the second floor landing, Sero wriggled free of the hold and turned to find open air. "Hagakure?" he whispered after a moment of confusion.
She shushed him loudly, a hand slapping back over his mouth. "Shut up or they'll hear you!"
"What the hell is going on anyway?" Sero whispered back quickly, eyes searching for something to latch onto, but there was nothing. It was disconcerting that he knew Hagakure had to be naked and that she found it a good idea to walk around naked. Really, the whole situation, Midoriya, Bakugou and Hagakure made him uncomfortable. All he'd wanted was some juice.
"Nobody knows about them. This happens a lot though."
"What? Them making out in the kitchen?"
Hagakure's laugh was quiet, just a breath, and he could imagine her smothering it with a fist. "No.  Them coming back after curfew and sitting in the kitchen to talk. It happens all the time. I assume the kissing happens while they're out."
"How has Mr. Aizawa caught them yet?"
Hagakure hummed. "I think he has, but whatever they're doing must be important. Or they only get caught in the kitchen, so he can't do anything about it. They come back all banged up a lot of the time too."
"That's so weird," Sero whined.
Again, she hummed. "Maybe. I think it's sweet."
Sero groaned, but didn't resist as she pulled him quietly back down the stairs. When he peaked around the corner, the pair was just breaking apart from their embrace.
Midoriya reached for the cups, handing one to Bakugou before sitting back down to hook his foot around Bakugou's calf. He smiled. "Are you ready for the test?"
"Okay, I'm going to go make some noise," Hagakure whispered in his ear before her presence was gone.
Sero swung back around, pressing his back to the wall as she trampled down the stairs.
"Shit," Bakugou whispered, and the scramble of scooting stools was loud in the quiet.
Hagakure moved passed Sero with a brush of air, and she gasped theatrically. "Oh! Midoriya, Bakugou, hi! Couldn't sleep either? What are you drinking?"
"Oh, evening, Hagakure. It's just, uh, some peppermint tea," Midoriya mumbled.
Taking a breath, Sero followed Hagakure out, rubbing at the back of his head as Hagakure prattled on near the others. He retrieved what he wanted from the fridge and hurried away, but not fast enough apparently.
"Hey, Elbows!" Bakugou called before he could make it to the stairs and he stalled, turning back to smile widely at him.
Sero really hoped he didn't look suspicious. "Yeah, Bakubro, what's up?"
"Make sure to sleep. I've not going to go easy on you in training today just because you're fucking tired. You got that?"
"Sure, sure," Sero said, waving him off as he mounted the stairs. Well, at least he could count on Bakugou's attitude to never change towards him, but man, he really did wish he could just forget about what he'd seen.

WSB (and WSHB) - Chapter IV
Tumblr media
cw: reader is called by their nickname based on their hero name. minimal violence.
Masterlist
You wake up the next morning disoriented by unfamiliar surroundings before you realize that you’re in Shoto’s bed, an empty space beside you.
Did you…
You slide out of bed, still in yesterday’s clothes, and creep out of the room gently to see him laid across the couch on his back, eyes still closed. He doesn’t look comfortable, the way his head tilts backwards awkwardly as it rests on the edge of the sofa. His arms are crossed over his chest, without a blanket even.
“Shoto?” you murmur, approaching.
His eyes open instantly and you wonder if he were ever asleep.
“Did you sleep okay?” He asks. You nod.
He’s far too kind for his own good.
---
“Did you want to leave or did you just want to be missed?”
The question weighs heavy on your head. Your legs curled up into the couch, you continued to hold the phone onto your ear, head spinning as you pondered the question. Your mother has always had a great way of shocking you back to reality, as she was doing now, and you struggled for a response.
You didn’t really want to leave. What you wanted was for the threat not to fall flat, and when it did, when instead Izuku chose to respond to the next distress call rather than respond to your ultimatum right that very moment, you packed up as many things as possible and moved into the next available apartment in a haste. It was an overreaction, as you were prone to do these days, much like now, sitting in Shoto’s apartment still, as though hiding out in your own home would remind you that you made dumb decisions in a blink of an eye.
You decide not to answer her question, instead changing the subject.
“I might consider that internship overseas,” you reply. You can practically hear her roll her eyes on the other end. Your mother has never indulged your caprices, even if she loves you dearly.
“Your response to distress shouldn’t immediately be running. Tell me you want to go because you think it’s a good idea for your career, not because you’re upset about a boy.”
You swallow hard.
He’s not just some boy is a phrase that dies in your throat, too embarrassing to say out loud. You’re not in high school anymore, holding hands as he carries your books between classes. You’re no longer hiding from prying eyes to kiss or sending each other flirty texts between missions.
You’re an adult now, and you’re no longer together.
Your mother sighs, sensing your hesitation. “Think about it longer.”
Defeated, you reply, “I will.”
“Where are you right now? You’re not face-timing me so what are you hiding?”
The fact that this woman is so astute will be your undoing. It’s your turn to sigh.
“Don’t judge me… but I’m at Shoto’s apartment. But he’s not here right now…, he’s at the afterparty.”
“Honey, leave that boy alone if you’re not serious,” she says in exasperation. You purse your lips. She’s already been merciful about the fact that you didn’t go with him to the event yesterday, so brutal honesty is warranted now.
“Okay,” you offer.
“Remember, our doors are always open. I haven’t seen you in a while. Next time come to me, not somebody else’s confused son, okay?”
This makes you laugh. You can practically hear her smiling into the receiver.
“Thanks, Mom.”
“Anytime.”
---
“Can I, uh, get you ladies a round of drinks on me?”
Mineta flashes a smile, rubbing his hands together and Tessa resists the urge to kick him in the teeth, but instead smiles faux sweetly. Jirou on the other hand, does not offer Mineta this much courtesy and reminds him promptly that the open bar is free. Hagakure giggles.
“Doesn’t mean I can’t take orders for you all!” he huffs. The Casanova act subverted, he crosses his arms and stomps his foot.
“See this is why at your big age you’re still mistaken for a baby,” Mina jokes slyly. It doesn’t help that his suit appears slightly oversized. Her own short cream fit and flare dress would be considered plain, if not for her painfully extravagant faux fur coat in the same pattern as her hero costume. Tessa spends the entire night trying not to spill her drink on her but she takes up so much space it feels almost inevitable.
“Let’s try to be nice today?” Momo suggests, to which Mineta oversteps his boundaries yet again and hugs her at the waist tightly.
“You were always my favorite!” he sobs dramatically.
Denki, approaching with a drink for Jirou, takes one glance at Mineta then shakes his head.
“He never changes, does he?”
“Never,” Sero sighs as he makes his way over to the unintentional huddle of girls. “Some of us had a glow up in the interim-” he adds, running his hand through his dark hair, and flashing his reality TV smile. “Don’t you all regret not snagging me while I hadn’t yet grown into myself?”
There’s one person who would have instantly jumped at the opportunity to roast him from his gold on gold suit, open shirt, necklace and cufflinks and she’s not present, they all realize in unison.
Well, all except Tessa who sips her drink quietly. She and Bakugou had already come up with excuses, because missing a ceremony was one thing, but missing two was a concern.
“Is Tenten really not coming to this too?” Sero asks.
Hagakure shrugs. “Maybe she’s busy?”
Their eyes are on Tessa who is the closest, who tries very hard to come up with something to say. As her eyes shift, she makes contact with Bakugou who is partially across the room, in conversation with Kirishima and Izuku.
They exchange a knowing glance.
“She has a really big project that she’s been working on,” Tessa lies through her teeth.
Tsuyu gives her a look. “Enough that she can’t take a break at all? Are we sure she’s okay?”
“Yeah, I think I called this morning to see if she was coming and her phone was off, which I feel isn’t like her,” Momo adds, crossing her arms over her chest as she ponders. No one wants to say it, but it’s clear that they suspect that there’s something more behind her absence. The internet is free.
Tessa starts to sweat but only until Shoto, noticing the small commotion, finally pipes up.
“She’s fine, she stayed the night after we slept together.”
Tessa and Mina spit out their drinks in unison. Bakugou, alarmed, shifts his gaze towards Izuku who he hopes by some miracle hasn’t heard Shoto.
Alas, he heard.
In fact, he was listening intently the whole time, his attention having been pulled away from Shoji’s words of congratulations on the pregnancy (he, for whatever reason, does keep track of entertainment media) the moment your name came into the conversation.
“You did what?”
Shoto considers that his word choice may have implied something else based on the shock of everyone around him. He tries to fix it:
“She came over last night because she was upset about something and ended up-”
That’s all Izuku is willing to hear.
Shoto turns his attention to Izuku to elaborate and is immediately met with knuckles to the jaw in a punch that sends him hurtling across the venue like a missile.
The air seems to freeze for a split second, then the far too loud crash of Shoto’s back hitting a wall in his path seems to shatter the silence - it takes less than half a second for Bakugou and Kirishima to act, each man restraining Izuku by each of his arms, trying to subdue him before he goes for the second blow.
“Chill! What the fuck?!”
“Deku!”
Izuku doesn’t speak but he’s red and angry enough that he looks like he could bite, teeth bared in a harsh sneer. He wants so badly to hit him again, and he stares daggers right at Shoto who looks genuinely stunned. The shock on his face only makes him angrier, the thought that Shoto would just casually proclaim to have had sex with his girlfriend and then-
His anger dissipates and shifts to regret just as the chatter amongst the group starts.
You’re not his girlfriend. You haven’t been for months, and thus who you sleep with is not his business.
And yet…
“Are you fucking insane?!” Bakugou hisses as Izuku huffs and lets his body relax. Iida, aided by his quirk, speeds over to Shoto to mitigate damage, and Shoto considers for a brief moment bathing the entire venue in ice before he decides on cool words instead.
“Odd way to show that you care,” Shoto spits. The environment is again icy cold, despite the fact that Shoto has yet to activate his quirk, and it is so quiet you can hear a pin drop. Izuku looks up from where he’s been focused on staring at the ground to recollect himself and consider exactly why he acted so brashly, renewed irritation in his eyes. His muscles tense again as Shoto marches closer, close enough eventually that they stare at each other nearly eye to eye. Kirishima pivots to get in between them but Bakugou gives him a knowing look and the redhead accordingly steps back out of the way.
“How unbecoming, given that you just announced that you were expecting.”
Shoto’s words are like venom, drawn out and poisonous, direct and scathing as is typical of him but with a new, controlled fury behind them. Not just because Izuku had the nerve to hit him, but because of the sheer hypocrisy.
Possibly because he remembers how you looked when you showed up at his doorstep.
Izuku’s fists clench, as does his jaw, and again he considers punching a second time but at the whisper of his name from the mother of his child, a realization sets in.
When he turns, Ochaco is right by him and looks visibly upset, the blood clearly drained from her face. She’s pale enough that even her perpetually red cheeks seem to have faded in color. He’s hurt someone else, he realizes. He can’t seem to stop hurting people.
“I-Izuku, what’s going-” Ochaco starts, and before he can hear whatever she has left to say, Izuku promptly storms out of the room.
---
You had just gathered your coat and keys when Shoto finally makes it back into his own apartment, nearly startling you out of yesterday’s clothes as the door swung open. Wide eyed, your attention is called directly to the bruise covering the unscarred half of Shoto’s face and you rush over to him in shock.
“Oh my God, what happened?”
Shoto’s face remains neutral as he replies, “Midoriya happened.”
A pang hits your chest.
“What… why?” you croak out, but you can tell the specifics don’t matter as much as what they represent. The fact that you are here, right now, and what you tried and failed to do last night, must be out in the open. Something of the sort.
Shoto doesn’t respond to your direct question and instead puts away his coat. He eyes you carefully, then changes the subject.
“I see that you’re getting ready to leave. Do you feel better?” he asks.
Your stomach twists. No, but also yes. It depends on what better means. You’ve only just now turned on your phone and there’s the myriad of texts that you ignored from this morning, many of them from Tessa, that still await your response. Your chest still aches. You don’t feel relaxed, more like you are masking a general unrest that sits deep in your bones.
But you’re okay to drive, you won’t cry yourself off the road.
You nod.
He offers you a small smile. “Good.”
You hesitate for a moment, then walk over to him where he stands.
“Do you mind?” You ask, as the tips of your fingers begin to glow. He shakes his head, and you touch his bruised face gently, stimulating the cells in that region to speed up healing.
“Thank you,” he murmurs. His hand hovers over yours but doesn’t make contact.
“No problem,” you reply. You want to know more of what happened, but you know when you finally get around to replying to Tessa and Momo, you’ll probably have a better inkling than you do right now. So rather, you wrap your arms around him in a hug and press your head against his chest. He’s rigid, startled by the action, just as he was last night, but he relaxes faster this time and places a hand on your back, rubbing up and down.
“Let me know when you get home,” he reminds you as you separate.
You nod.
“I will.”
---
Turning your key into your apartment lock, you find yourself laughing despite the fact that your heart currently remains broken in two, courtesy of an old friend.
“All I’m saying is that I fight pregnant women too.”
“Kali, please!” you exclaim on the phone, giggles abounding. She’s been ranting for the past twenty minutes about how she never thought Izuku understood how lucky he was to have you, how she cannot believe you found out like this, how if her husband wasn’t still a top-ranked Hero, she’d have very quickly returned to her Vigilante ways, and it is refreshing as usual to be somewhat muted in the conversation. There’s a sudden shuffling at the other end of the line, and soon you can hear her bark at Hawks about returning her phone to her immediately.
“There’s no need for a smear campaign, Kali. We were broken up, he never did anything wrong,” you remind her.
“He didn’t technically but this still feels wrong to me and since I can’t beat anyone up I’m going on Twitter. Gonna have #dekuisadicku trending by tomorrow morning.”
You burst into giggles once again, but unbeknownst to your long-time friend, there’s tears that she can’t see that accompany the laughter, until eventually when you hang up on the phone you’re outright sobbing.
Three months is all it took. As Kali brought up, perhaps your suspicions really were right, and he was actually seeing her romantically at the tail end of your relationship. Even if you knew a single roll in the sheets could turn out this way, it still hurt that it could happen so quickly.
And knowing that everyone else knew… The sheer humiliation of it all was almost as bad as the fact that you loved him still and wished so desperately he hadn’t moved on so quickly.
If there was any hope of you returning to the Hero agency where you and Izuku once worked, the permanent resignation letter you were drafting suggested otherwise. There were other ways to be a Hero and there would be other ways to work, even if the Agency you’d previously freelanced at was one of the best in the country. Either way, after months of declining missions, it was probably unlikely you were still high on their roster for potential jobs.
Your brother would be proud of you for leaving all of this shit behind.

There are very few things that have been able to distract you from the pain in your chest, but Tsuyu’s terrible, croaky and off-key rendition of Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleeding Love’ is somehow one of them. Gulping down the rest of your Cassis Grape (the third of the night), you considered that Tessa’s ‘It’s Raining Men’ a few minutes ago was not actually so bad, especially given the fact that Momo was worsening the current entertainment by shaking a tambourine, equally offbeat and with an inappropriate level of grace.
There are other reasons to want to cry, you remember. Then for whatever reason, as you contemplate ordering another drink, Mineta’s purple hair suddenly comes to mind and you consider retching.
Maybe you are going insane.
“Tenten!” Tessa sees your skin go ashen and holds you close, rubbing her hands through your hair as you find yourself unwittingly laying in her lap. “Tsuyu, stop, you’re making her sick!”
Tsuyu’s ribbit ad-libs come to an end and the music dies down for a moment, while the three girls look at you. You wave them off.
“I’m fine,” you murmur, and the slight slur in your speech makes them doubt you. Tsuyu comes to squat down before you, and frowns.
“You don’t have to pretend to be okay, you know,” she says, putting down her microphone, an action that brings joy to your soul.
“We’re just happy you came out,” Momo adds, placing a comforting hand on your hip and rubbing gently. The gentle flush on her features is comforting, even if your head is spinning as you look at her. She’s very pretty, you remember, then gaze back at Tessa who appears to be staring straight ahead, scrunching her nose.
“Maybe we should have stayed in.”
The walls of the karaoke room are quite small, but of course you would never feel suffocated with your friends. In fact the closed space reminds you that you’re not alone.
“I needed to get out,” you assure them. Tessa glances back down at you for a moment, contemplating, then sticks out her tongue at you.
“Next time you ignore my calls, I’m breaking into your house.”
“Nice threat. I’ll make you tea and tuck you in bed,” you murmur back. Momo giggles, then rests her head on Tessa’s shoulder. Tsuyu mutes the karaoke machine, having given up on torturing the rest of the group, then takes a seat on Tessa’s other side. She brings her knees to her chest and sighs.
You steal a look at her for a moment. Even through the alcohol settling in, you can still recognize that this situation must be terribly awkward for Tsuyu, who is particularly close with Ochaco, and you can tell that she’s trying not to mention her in order to remain diplomatic. Will her presence here be considered picking sides? You don’t want her to pick sides.
You’re mad at her but you’re not really mad at her.
Maybe you should broach the subject yourself, to let the group know that it’s okay. Because you’re curious after all.
“Is she happy about… you know? Did she tell you anything?”
You’re mostly expecting Tsuyu to answer, and Tessa briefly stops stroking your hair as the air grows silent, but Tsuyu can see that you’re throwing both her and yourself a bone and replies.
“Yeah, she’s happy about it. They’ve been going to appointments together.”
Maybe you shouldn’t have asked. Your throat suddenly feels very dry. Tessa resumes stroking your hair and Tsuyu falls silent again. It’s too quiet and you can hear the rush of blood in your ears far too loud.
“I’m not upset.” You say out loud, but really only to yourself. “You can talk freely about everyone. We’re adults.”
“You can be upset,” Tessa reminds you.
You reply again, more forcefully, bringing yourself to an upright position which has your head spinning.
“I don’t care, Tessa.”
The resignation letter on your desktop says otherwise.
Tessa purses her lips as she looks into your eyes, then whispers “fine.” You get up shakily, then reach for the tv remote from the table, snatching it up.
“Next song is Bootylicious,” you hiss. You don’t know what you’re trying to prove in the sway of your hips and in the shrillness of your lyrics, but you’re nearly screaming at the top of your lungs as you drag Momo to her feet to dance with you. Swinging her arms back and forth, shaking your ass and prompting her to mirror you as well, maybe you’ll just wait the pain out.
After all, your friends will always love you and most importantly, you’re responsible for your own joy.

Izuku, wait!
Ochaco can still vividly see his turned back as she hovers over the toilet bowl again and hurls.
He didn’t stop then. He barely even hesitated, just like he didn’t hesitate to punch Shoto practically halfway across the city just moments before.
The vomit tastes acrid in her throat and her head is pounding like a bad hangover. She takes a moment to take a few more dry swallows, then positions her head over the bowl again to vomit the nothing left in her stomach.
Maybe if she throws up enough times, she’ll run out of stomach acid and purge the noxious feelings welling up in her chest instead. He didn’t wait for her. He heard her loud and clear and kept moving, despite everything - her feelings for him, the life growing inside her, the simple fact that she hasn’t spent one morning without vomiting this entire week.
Maybe he doesn’t know that last part, but still. He had proven to her what she’d suspected.
She still doesn’t have all of him. Not even close.
Does she have any of him, or is it all just an illusion?
The salty sensation of impending emesis begins to subside and she takes in a few deep breaths. This too shall pass, right?
She has to work in a couple of hours. Perhaps enough time to take another nap? She takes a look in the mirror as she brushes the awful taste out of her teeth. She glances at her phone, considering whether or not it’s too early to call her mother. It is too early.
She hasn’t talked to Izuku since the event two days ago.
But it’s okay. He’s shaken but he loves her. He loves her and the baby inside of her. He held her hand. It must mean that he’s all in for once, right?
He will look at her for once. Not this woman who showed up out of nowhere to take her place.
Her. It was always her.
She spits into the sink and looks at the dark circles under her eyes and the sallowness of her skin from dehydration.
It’s okay. This too shall pass.
