A long forgotten short comic I did for pre-totk/post-botw domestic zelink
I love Zel’s hair symbolism especially after altering her status as a “princess”and becoming a Hateno grade school teacher. She’d most likely still maintain some insecurities but that’s what our lovely knight was made for <3
Semi-connected to my previous Signing Link headcanon, Link speaks here for the first time post-Calamity and gets super self-conscious. But of course Zelda doesn’t mind and is happy that Link growing more comfortable after the events of breath of the wild
It's crazy how everyone was hyping up the Nokotan anime before release but the only subs I can find are shitsubs (machine translated) from "le même." I can't bring myself to watch it until it gets real subs.
Now that Ghibli's new movie is coming out soon, I've been thinking about anime films and wanna talk about my favorite animated movie ever, Tokyo Godfathers.
TG is a 2003 tragicomedy by Satoshi Kon, following three unhoused people––an alcoholic, a runaway girl, an a trans woman––who find a baby in a dumpster and set off across Tokyo to reunite her with her parents.
If you like the sound of that, go watch it because the rest of this post is spoilers and I have FEELINGS about this movie.
URGHH, the fact that only two moments of true kindness, generosity, and care given to the three protagonists without any expectation of reciprocity are given by a Latin-American immigrant couple and a drag show club full of trans women. The fact that, despite her loud and dramatic personality, Hana is the glue that holds the team together and the heart of the whole movie. The fact that this movie pulls no punches at showing the violence and inhumanity committed by "civilized Japanese society" against the unhoused. The fact that Miyuki craves to be loved by her parents and ends up seeing Hana as her true mother. The fact that Miyuki starts off accidentally using transphobic language against Hana, but slowly begins calling her "Miss Hana" out of respect. The fact that, according to Kon, Hana's role in the story is as a mythological trickster god and "disturb the morality and order of society, but also play a role in revitalizing culture." The fact that Hana so desperately wants to be part of a true family, yet is willing to sacrifice her found family so they can be with their own, and is rewarded for her good deeds in the end by becoming a godmother. The fact that, throughout the movie, wind and light have been used to signify the presence of god's hand/influence (this movie's about nondenominational faith––faith in yourself, faith in others, faith in a higher power. Lots of religious are referenced, such as Buddhism/Hinduism, Christianity, and Shintoism), and in the climax of the film, as Hana jumps off a building to save a baby that isn't hers, a gust of wind and a shower of light save her from death. The fact that god saves a trans woman's life because she proved herself a mother, and that shit makes me CRY.
in Storm Bringer, Iceman mentions Chuuya punching a guy through (several) ceilings for having asked him about his past. That guy was a wholeseller Chuuya was supposed to be making a deal with for the jewel trade he was in charge of. That incident happened July 18th, and it took the guy 3 months to heal.
Now, we know both halves of skk were 15 in, well, Fifteen, and that at this time in SB, they should both be 16. Chuuya's birthday is in April, and Dazai's, June.
Since there was a time skip of a month at the end of Fifteen, the punching incident can't have been from then, as we need at least that amount of time for Dazai's birthday to have already passed. So this was after the boys' 16th birthdays, July 18th +3 months, placing SB's events at somewhere at least mid-October, even November.
The events of SB take place over like, at most, 2 weeks, between the Flags' deaths and the final fight. Then, there's another one-month skip in the epilogue, +1.5 month, so we're now at minimum in December-January range.
The Dragon's Head Conflict is said to have happened "shortly after the King of Assassins incident". Skk should still be 16 during the conflict, so we have until the end of April to get there. The conflict lasted for 88 days, nearly 3 months, bringing us to a bare minimum of it starting at the tail end of January.
What I'm saying is there was barely 6 months, most likely even less, between SB and the end of the Dragon's Head Conflict. The PM might have mostly avoided taking part in it (canon reason why they managed to take over the underworld in its wake), but they still suffered from it all the same, especially since they had just spent and lost a lot of resources during their fight against Verlaine.
Also Chuuya must have had like 3 months to make those friends before losing them too.
Hey Rassicas, what do you think America is like in the world of splatoon? Like how do you think the land mass is split by countries and what parts of the land is/isn’t underwater?
Well there's the best answer we have to what is and isn't underwater.
I don't have much in the way of headcanons for how society would look like there or what the political borders are since we know Nothing, and anything anyone could say would be baseless. There has been very few implied mentions of north america though...
In the art of splatoon 2, in the concept art for bisk, there are mentions of california...well actually this is a bit of a mistranslation
The location mentioned is "Kanifornia". kani=crab. Crabifornia? lol
There's also a pun in here lost about him going to the club because he's a crab. japanese transliteration of the english words "crab" and "club" are both クラブkurabu. This is just concept art, but i headcanon Kanifornia is a real place that's in about the same spot as real world california, and a lot of the people there are crabs lol
on page 215 of Haikara Walker, there is also this...
"These cartridges are ones that have been released in a region different from Inkadia. Although the shape of the cartridges are different, it seems that the contents itself are not. The difference in culture can really be felt in the place where the label features the pixel art"
these boxes are a clear reference to the style of boxes of the US releases of NES and SNES....it could also be PAL in there too. some europe releases use something closer to US box art, but from the snes cartridge shape, definitely based on US at least.
Anyway I want to believe that the region shown is truly in the splatoon world's north america and not just another part of japan like the splatlands are. And just like in real life US and JP, there's some different cultural sensibilities between inkadia and the region of splatoon world's north america.
The Triple Splashdown is a modified version of the special weapon used in Inkopolis, arriving in Splatoon 3's Chill Season 2023. Rise into the air and pound the ground with two fearsome fists of ink, generating up to three explosions!
Initially I didn’t like the change from “Let’s meet again Joonghyuk” to “Live on, Joonghyuk”. I know a lot of people have their grievances too but thinking more on it, this works really well.
-Classic KDJ/YJH dynamic where KDJ throws back at YJH the exact words he said earlier. As if to say, “No you don’t get to do that. I’m gonna be petty and make you carry that weight.”
-But “Live on/Survive” to KDJ is love in its rawest form. “Let’s meet again” is a great line but it includes Dokja in the equation. It leaves room to say a piece of himself will find YJH but that’s not what he’s thinking about. Like “survive/live on” captures Kim Dokja’s selfishness bc he is pushing this wish onto YJH. Arguably commanding him to live. But this is what he wanted for YJH more than anything. So this is KDJ being the most honest he’s ever been without opening his heart.
“Let’s meet again” exudes warmth. It implies he’s a part of YJH’s world. But for most of orv KDJ insists not to see it that way.
Really my only complaint with this chapter was that I think YJH’s expressions could’ve been done better. I needed more desperation, more sorrow but we have his future depression arc to give us that hopefully.
[A sad violin song plays over an image of a sad hamster]
Pac: This doesn't have anything to do with me – I wear a blue sweatshirt, you're crazy, this mouse doesn't even have a sweatshirt, this hamster! [Reading chat] Am I a depressed hamster?

Pac: Actually– that's fine! I embrace that idea – of course I'm going to be depressed, are you crazy? [He hits his desk, then starts counting off people on his fingers] Fit is gone, Richarlyson is gone, Ramon is gone, Bagi and Empanada who were always there when we were there are also gone, I haven't seen them! It's just me and Tubbo, and sometimes Philza shows up.
Pac: I lost Chume Labs, I lost the Favela, I lost Murder Mystery, I lost Ilha Chume Labs, it's crazy! Look at how much I've lost, and I've gained nothing! Of course I'm going to be depressed, are you crazy?! How am I supposed to be happy?!
Pac: [Reading chat] "You have us Pac," that's true, thank you. No, that's true, sorry.
