June ask game:
1) As a witch, somebody caught between two worlds- not fully belonging to either one, what anchors you to the physical world?
2) Is there something you found particularly shocking or surprising once you took up magic?
3) Tell me about an insect native to your region, especially if you work with them.
4) Do you attempt to localize your practice? If so, especially if you’re living on colonized land, has that proven difficult?
5) I’m not sure how others feel but it seems like the online occult community has been very quiet for a while. How do you think we can get it more active again? Or, do you feel the fallow periods are inevitable, good even?
6)How do you think your younger self would react to seeing where/who you are now?
7) Is practicing, or wanting to practice witchcraft selfish? Is it necessarily wrong for it to be a selfish pursuit?
8) From what I’ve seen some gaulpols believe in what they’ve termed “the gifting cycle”. I give, that you may give, that I may give again. (Other gaulpols pls correct me if I’m mistaken) does a similar concept exist in your practice?
9) Do you find sensory engagement or deprivation more helpful in your magic?
10) Is breath or voice of particular importance?
11) Are paradoxes or opposing opposites important to you? I.e. Fire and Water.

For the tarot collector game: 1, 6, 17, and 22!
1. What was the first deck you read with?
My first deck was Foxfire: The Kitsune Oracle. I got it in a small shop in the middle of nowhere in Oklahoma. It’s still my favorite deck to this day.
6. Have you ever had to “re-home” a deck? How did it go?
Thankfully, I’ve never had to rehome a deck. I have had others rehome a deck to me, though. It went fine. There wasn’t really anything special about the transfer, and the decks are amazing.
17. Where do you keep your tarot collection? Any particular rituals for how you store them?
My tarot decks are displayed on one of my altar’s open shelves. I don’t have any rituals. There’s really no rhyme or reason to how I have my decks set up, besides the biggest being in the back and the ones I use more being easily accessible.
22. Free space! Rant, brag, break out the hot takes on anything tarot- or collection-related, or answer any of the other questions that you wish had been asked!
I have a few “hot takes,” but I don’t think they’d be considered hot anymore. I believe that you can buy decks yourself. I’ve never subscribed to the idea (or even understood it) that you have to be gifted a deck. I also believe that using the guidebook is completely fine, if not necessary in some cases. One person cannot (most of the time) remember every single possible meaning of every card, much less remember spreads and other things (what it means to have all Major Arcana, what it means for all cards to be facing left, what it means to have Death and The Tower next to each other, etc.). I also believe that card divination is not necessary. Many people work better with pendulums, scrying instruments, etc. No one is better than or worse than someone with a different form of divination. Adding on to that, you are not better than or worse than anyone who doesn’t use divination at all.
See the ask game post here.

Ask game: 8, 26, 61, 88, and one of your choice!
How would you define your craft? Honestly, it's a jumbled mess. I guess eclectic practice with a mix of intuition and sporadic research. After so many years of following others' correspondences, I'm still building up a lot of my own.
What got you interested in witchcraft? I can't think of any one singular thing. I've always been drawn to it as far as I can remember, and at that time 'witchcraft' and 'nature spirituality' were one and the same, so my interactions with nature spirits at school were automatically labelled in my little brain as witchcraft. It wasn't until later I learned Wicca was a thing, and boy oh boy. Thankfully I've learned more since then.
What is something witch related that you want right now? Mmm, magical herb garden. Or rather, I would like the time and energy to be able to maintain one.
How have you created your path? What is unique about it? My path is basically eclectic witchcraft with occasional dragon work. My craft and my personal spirituality have some overlap, but not completely, so a lot of what I do with dragons I don't consider fully my 'craft', my craft is not completely centered on dragons. How I've built it up... It's been a lot of reading, a lot of conversations and intuition and writing things down and seeing how long certain ideas and perspectives hold up over the years. I know a lot of people deride intuition, but for me it's more like subtle naturally-occurring pattern-recognition. "This makes sense to me but I couldn't tell you why" then find the relevant info years down the road.
Choice- 20. What is your favorite gemstone? Labradorite. :D
Thanks for the ask, Nonny!

Ooh either spin the bottle or two truths and a lie for Cross Guild?
Oooooh I wanna Mix Those, thanks nonny ♡♡♡
Spin the Bottle + 2 Truths 1 Lie
Nobody was quit certain how the situation had come to this, but it was undeniable now. Mihawk nursed his glass of wine, empty bottles at his hip as he lounged not unlike a panther across the lounge, sleep pants hung low and shirt unorthodoxically cut to show more skin than it perhaps should. Golden eyes cut to his equally dressed down compatriots.
Crocodile was taking the full couch with a mildly annoyed tinge to his brow, hair still slicked back perfectly despite the loungewear he himself had donned for this exchange. The man proved his commitment to his tastes even in his pajamas, it seemed, with the rich deep emerald silk of his pants offset against the nearly skin tight black tank top. It would have shown far more skin than he'd ever exposed before had it not been for the unbuttoned mate to his pants left to take place of his coat, though his arms filled the sleeves here.
Across from him, kneeling on the rug was the very one who'd proposed this meet up in the first place. Cerulean locks were held fast in a neat french braid, the tail trailing well past his shoulders to brush his hips. Sans makeup, it turned out that the clown's lips were either stained from his lip tint or simply far more florid than most, only his nose more red, and both bowing out to the pigment of his eyes and full lashes. As if the rare sight of a bare face were not enough, the other man had opted for a set of pajamas seemingly intended for women more than men by the cut of the shorts and thin straps of his top. The bottoms were plaid in a mix of neons over a midnight base color, either black or a highly pigmented blue or purple, while the top seemed perhaps a size or two too large with one strap continuously slipping along his bicep. The shirt was, at the very least, more modest in cuts than Mihawk's own, though the bright orange toed the line between tasteful and garish against such pale, surprisingly scarred and freckled skin and his oceanic hair.
The two ghost caricatures over the slight swell of his breasts with the inappropriate pun curling below may have been over kill, the swordsman mused.
Crocodile moved, earning his attention back as the man flicked the sideways bottle on the table. It spun and spun, a clear noise that tickled his ears brightly. Sharp eyes traced the movements, as it slowed and crept to a stop - the opening moreso angle to Buggy this time.
The clown brightened. "Okay," he cheered, swaying in place minutely, finger moving to tap at his chin, green nail polish glinting in the low light. "Hmm.... oh! Okay okay, so," he grinned, eyes glinting like arctic waves at twilight. "I'm allergic to pineapples, I have oversensitive observation haki, and I like swordfighting!" He clasped his hands, propped his elbows and dropped his chin upon the lattice of his fingers with a mischievous grin.
Mihawk, despite the small knot of fond affection in his stomach, pursed his lips. The pineapple comment seemed self explanatory - they'd seen first hand the reaction he had the one time he did eat something containing pineapple. Dr Delilah had nearly torn her hair out when Buggy, dotted in hives and pouting, poked his head into her office for the medication. It was by no means a life threatening allergy, but it was certainly dangerous on its own.
That left the remaining two statements to be the lie.
Turning it over in his head, Mihawk sent a glance to Crocodile. He seemed to be in thought himself, gnawing absently at his cigar butt as he looked over the clown adjacent to both men.
Buggy, for his part, seemed to have an excellent poker face.
Mihawk initially thought it would be the sword fighting bit, knowing Buggy preferred ranged fighting - but at the same time, he knew intimately that the other was no slouch with any bladed weapon he could get his hands on. An unchoppable man with a penchant for weapons that cut seemed ironic and near infallible.
Crocodile spoke then, nodding to himself. "The Haki," he grunted shortly.
"Sword fighting," Mihawk followed up, still uncertain but willing to take the chance if only to gain the point over Crocodile.
Buggy grinned. "Hawky wins," he chirped, handing the dot marker over so the swordsman could add another mark to his tally.
The logia user tilted his head. "The hell is oversensitive observation, then? Isn't the whole deal supposed to be an extra sense? Extra awareness?"
"Mostly," Mihawk admitted, "It is akin to a sixth sense born from your other five. It has a psychological component as well. Some even argue it's spiritual."
Buggy nodded along absently, toying with the neck of the bottle. "Basically, yeah. Observation Haki is technically a heightened sensitivity to your other senses anyway, along with a special other little bit. But when you have a natural affinity for it, it can seem over sensitive," he paused, nail clinking against the glass. He sighed. "To have oversenstivie Observation haki means that your senses are always turned up higher than most. It can develop as a trauma response or it can be innate. It's not common to have it, honestly, and what little we DO know about that is.... kind of complicated? But think of it like.... being in a big crowded room, all the time. And you can see and hear and feel and predict so many things for every single person within your area."
"That is typical Observation, though unfiltered," Mihawk stated.
Buggy nodded. "Now imagine you can predict inanimate objects. You can hear the winds, the grass, the walls, the cobblestone. And now expand it. It's not the crowd. It's the town. The city. The island itself. You can hear and feel and sense every wave against the shore, the sea screaming, the cloud cover and winds and plants and people. Every grain of sand has a voice, every stone, every drop, every gust, ever piece of the world around you. And then the people, their feelings, you can damn near read their thoughts. It's everywhere, everything, constantly."
Silence reigned for a moment. Mihawk had paled, leaning back into his seat. He recalled Shanks admitting to information like that before in passing, grieving slurred words that he'd though were about a man dead. Instead, he realized in dawning concern, it was for a man livelier than most.
Crocodile snorted. "Sounds overwhelming and honestly kind of fake."
Buggy's eyes cut to him, studying for a moment. Mihawk shivered as those glacier blue eyes darkened, seemingly crackling as he tilted his head. Crocodile blinked as Buggy spoke. "Annoyance. Anger. You feel slighted and indignant, believing your first guess was right and we're playing you. That's something anyone who knows you can guess, Croco-chan, so here's something else." His eyes went marginally glazed. A lone curl drifted to kiss his cheek. "Daz is currently at the breeding tents. He's taken a liking to one of the blueberrywani that hatched with the latest batch. He's happy and content right now. Mohji is doing the last of the work in the stables. He was cleaning with Ritchie, Keeler and Misha. Baron should be helping too, but he's unwell, in the medical tent. Cabaji is currently with Alvida, they're happy and bright at the moment but also slower. Drinking, I think. They're in her tent-"
Buggy went on, describing key guildsmen or commanders in varying places, their actions, what was around them, their emotions. Some of them, he had no way to know of before hand. Two wide eyed gazes locked onto him.
When he began paling, a hand moving to tap-tap-tap in a familiar way, Mihawk reached out, slotting this fingers together to squeeze. Buggy jolted back. They all breathed together for a moment.
Then the clown shook his head. "Test however you need to," he said at last, glancing at Crocodile while Mihawk's awed gaze trailed over the tendrils of awareness he carefully folded back inwards. He took the bottle gently, cracking a smile. "Let's just play the game, okay?"
And maybe, the swordsman mused absently, maybe playing some silly little games to "get to know each other better" really was a brighter idea from their chairman. Skills, talents, powers and niches were paramount to portray to show a unified front. Any shortcomings could be twisted, supplemented or covered in turn by the rest. This game likely would be full of much to learn for all parties involved.
Including, he sighed as the bottle landed on him, he himself as well.

5, 10, and 15 for the ask game
5) do you think witchcraft is a religion or a practice? Why? Practice. I understand witchcraft as the working of magic through the making of agreements with spirits. The relationship one has with these spirits can be secular or religious. There’s no universally agreed upon pantheon, holy days or morals for witches. Though if one defines religion simply as the veneration of a higher power I suppose you could call witchcraft a religion.
10) his impact on occultism is undeniable. he brought witchcraft to into the public eye. My thoughts on him as a person? He’s human, a product of his time. I think he did good and bad things, like we all do. I think people tend to villainize or deify him. A lot of male occultists, historical or contemporary, are weird about sex and women. I don’t think he’s unique in that regard.
15) yes! I think magic can make you unwell. It’s alarming to see it work, to see and interact with spirits. It’s also very easy to loose grip with reality if you’re REALLY into the new age stuff….

5, 8, 24, and 30 for the Witch Asks!
5. Do you work with Death/the dead?
This is a very interesting one for me because up until recently the answer would have been mostly no. Beyond an altar with pictures and representations of family members that have passed in mine and my partners' lives, I tended to focus much more on life. I'm a spring faery after all! So ideas ranging from fertility to protection of my loved ones were always at the forefront of my practice, but recently I have been truly feeling Cernunnos' presence as a liminal being.
I haven't delved quite yet into his role as it relates to the dead, but he has encouraged me to observe and be aware of how the seasons change, how things sleep and die and how the cycle repeats after the much needed rest. Spring can't exist on its own, Winter is necessary, and we are all a part of it.
8. What is your favorite plant to work with?
Rosemary! It's always represented myself in my spell work, and as such I often use it to channel or represent my magic or protection. It's such a hardy plant it can survive the frost and the sun, I love it so much! I have a fantastic bundle of dried rosemary from a friend's handfasting ages ago that is my favorite thing to smoke cleanse with.
24. Is there a particular type of weather that makes you feel witchy?
I just adore a sunny day, no matter the temperature. A light breeze, perhaps, but not windy. I love hiking in that kind if weather weather it's through flowers or snow, and that connection with nature really makes my wings flutter.
30. Do you use crystals in your craft?
Oh boy, do I use crystals! I actually have a big crystal and rock collection, and I'm a casual rock hound when I have the time and energy. I've gone on trips where the exclusive aim was to go hiking and find cool rocks.
Actually within my practice, I use crystals for everything. I actually have crystals to represent each element, I have a stunning piece that represents the feminine aspect of Nature (still searching for what exactly that means to me but she's got a place of honor on my main altar), but the long and short is that YES I use crystals for literally everything.
This is for an ask game that can be found here!

Gonna ask this for Eris, and also Vivienne, since I think their romantic tendencies might be the most complex
❤️How do they feel about the concept of “love”? What does it mean to them?
💖What’s the easiest part of love for them?
🖤What’s the hardest part of love for them?
💌Which “traditionally romantic” acts (love poetry, flowers, etc.) do they love the most? Would they rather receive this kind of affection, or give it to someone else?
💐Which “traditionally romantic” acts (love poetry, flowers, etc.) do they hate more than anything? When it’s directed at them, or when they’re expected to give it to others?
Oooooh thank you!! They definitely have the most complex views on romance, I think >:)
Romance and Love OC Ask Game
❤️How do they feel about the concept of “love”? What does it mean to them?
Eris: They're honestly not sure what they think of the concept of love. Having been around so long, he's experienced all manner of loves, betrayals, losses, and heartbreaks in his life, and it's made his views fairly complicated. Eris tends to approach love with the expectation that it's going to end badly in one way or another - but unlike another person, this doesn't actually dissuade them from love, and instead results in an incredibly intense, passionate romance for however long it lasts. This... can have a tendency to push their partners away, but it also can result in some of the deepest loves and emotions they've ever experienced.
Vivienne: She used to view love with the expectations of her time: to be courted, to get married, to have her husband act as the defender while she tended the house and the children... and then those illusions were shattered with how her husband behaved towards her, and she swore off love for a long time. It still believed in love, but up until meeting Wojchek was so afraid of being placed in that vulnerable position that it didn't even consider pursuing it. For Vivienne, love is a strong emotion but by no means a necessity, and meeting Wojchek was more of a lucky stroke.
💖What’s the easiest part of love for them?
Eris: Passion. Say what you want about Eris, they are at no shortage of passion. And yes, sexual passion is a part of that, but moreover it's just the emotional passion in getting close to someone. For all their quirks and emotional constipation, Eris loves hard and does not let go.
Vivienne: The light moments are easiest for her - like teasing Wojchek about buying her a pastry, or sharing a story with him and his crew. Once it feels secure, a lot of love does come fairly easily to it, but those simple moments are definitely the ones that come most naturally to it.
🖤What’s the hardest part of love for them?
Eris: Honesty in their feelings, for sure. Internally, their emotions are strong and unshakeable, but it takes a lot for them to admit or even recognize those feelings - even when it comes to a partner they've been dedicated to for a while, like Rick. It's a combination of his long history with heartbreak and his lingering feeling that he's undeserving of love to begin with.
Vivienne: Recognizing her own strengths, both in romance and outside it, is a difficult thing for her. It may have the magic of a siren and the strength of a sea storm, but internally it still views itself as the woman who could barely write and was beaten black and blue by her husband. It might manifest differently than it would in a modern person, but she has a lot of issues with valuing herself and her strengths.
💌Which “traditionally romantic” acts (love poetry, flowers, etc.) do they love the most? Would they rather receive this kind of affection, or give it to someone else?
Eris: Honestly, he loves receiving gifts and being cared for - she'll outwardly fire off some jab about it, but inwardly it strikes her deeply and really makes them feel like they're loved. As for the second question, it's a bit of both: receiving that affection, at least when they'll let themself receive it, is lovely, but she also shows a lot of love in acts of service (like caring for Rick when he's injured, or remembering his favorite foods at the grocery store, or stepping in with the chores without being asked)
Vivienne: She loves verbal statements of love and affection. This is special in two ways: for one, Wojchek can be a bit gruff, so the moments when he does speak more softly are special to her; and for another thing, her first husband was never verbally affectionate towards her once they were married, so having that as an act of love to begin with just means a lot. Vivienne, of course, is very verbal about her affections.
💐Which “traditionally romantic” acts (love poetry, flowers, etc.) do they hate more than anything? When it’s directed at them, or when they’re expected to give it to others?
Eris: Thankfully this has never been an issue with Rick, but the idea of leveraging the relationship or expecting special treatment for the sake of being together is something Eris cannot stand. That's not to say Eris won't compromise for the sake of someone he cares about, and in practice she certainly does put Rick before pretty much anything else, but they can't stand the expectation of placing someone before their wants simply because of the "partner" label.
Vivienne: It hates the expectation of femininity - kind of in a similar way to how Eris resents the expectation of placing a partner first but still makes Rick their priority, Vivienne will play into feminine roles when it wants to but abhors having those roles forced upon her. This is also why Wojchek as a partner works very well for her: he knows enough about societal roles to play along, but as a sailor really doesn't care enough about etiquette to have reservations about it.

DOUBLE BINGO!
Tumblr media
Your free space is "Manga Kiss".
THEY KISS IN THE MANGA. THEY KISS IN THE MANGA AND THAT'S ADORABLE.
I cannot be normal about these two ever. I love them? They're absolutely adorbs and they're great moms to Ha-chan when they're around her, keepin' her as safe as they can despite that little fairy's antics. They need to kiss onscreen already even though they already kissed in the manga. They're goofy and silly. Pink and purple with tiny witch hats is an AMAZING aesthetic, but then look at the Ruby Style and how they match! The candy theme of Topaz Style! They're SO aesthetically pleasing. I love the fanworks of these two.
Please. Let them stay happy. Let them. It's important to me these two don't get hurt, I love these silly little Precure witches.
