Despite mermaids sharing many fish-like traits, that doesn't necessarily mean all forms of folklore mermaid should be attributed to being part-fish! Many species can LOOK similar to another, yet not be part of the proper species. Take the common household "Daddy Long Legs" for example - despite it's resemblance to spiders and other arachnids, it only possesses two eyes, rather than eight, so it doesn't neatly fall in line.

To assume the trait is based in fish only is ignoring that there may be other species that are fish-like in nature that mermaids take influence from!

Of course.

In regards to the modern Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG - and OCG by extension at times - Players who claim Pendulum Monsters are too difficult to understand are overexaggerating their claim. As long as the player is someone who has knowledge of other summon mechanics, and manages to understand Link monsters, as well as being able to read numbers, then Pendulum Monsters and Pendulum Summons should come easily to them. Even the location for where Pendulum Monsters end up after destruction or negation is pretty simple. However, many current Yu-Gi-Oh players still make the statement that Pendulums are overly complicated.

Narumo is a girl in a rather interesting position: in that, even before her attendance to Hope's Peak, her acceptance letter demanded she never reveal her Ultimate Talent to others at the school. She decided this would be fun to follow along with and obey, so she never allows others to know her Ultimate title. The girl herself feigns enjoying authority while being a rebel at heart: She claims she'll be an obedient sheep when she wants to be, but if it doesn't interest her, she'll just do as she pleases with no regard for societal expectations or the rules. Not much is known about her, but she doesn't seem all that nauseous or all that phased during Killing Game investigations, and can hold her own incredibly well during a trial.

Cure Film in the top right allows the camera to tell which Cure is transforming, the ChibiCollect in the bottom left allows the camera to tell what aesthetic their powers and outfit will be. In this case, Cure Hug's transforming with HUGtto-aesthetic outfit and powers, the standard for her.

The camera can also unfold into a scrapbook.

I noticed a poster yall have for a fanseries called "Cute Collection Precure" - I would love to learn more about it, the artist did a great job on making them so adorable! ^^

Absolutely! @linyu3u is the artist of the Cute Collection Precure poster, and brought my concept art to life in such an amazing way that felt truly Precure in it's style, and I'm forever grateful for the poster coming out as well as it did. As for Cute Collection Precure itself, it's a fanseries of my own concept and design, focusing on memories, photography, and celebrations - Despite these being the focus, there is a slight touch to the motif of past anniversary seasons. It isn't huge, though, just in the Cure names, costumes, and attack choreography (not the attack, though.)

Each Cure's story arc in Cute Collection is meant to represent memories in different ways. Cure Memoir represents nostalgia and a drive to make more things to look back on, having memory boxes full of photos and objects of things she's done, but she also represents overcoming that attachment if it gets too difficult to focus on the moment, as her latter-half story arc revolves more around amnesia and forgetting a lot of things due to a villain scheme.

Cure Yes!'s arc represents present memories and what to make of them, as her parents have high expectations of her to maintain a refined and elegant persona, but it's left her unsure of who she truly is - she has to learn to make these new memories as herself, not as who her parents expect her to be. Cure Yes! also begins as a mean girl type, pushing people away to focus on the studies and extracurricular lessons her parents expect, but after being part of the team, she grows and becomes kinder to more people.

Cure Charge's arc represents memories of the past, and in a twist of what Precure's lessons with parents usually are, focuses on how she DOESN'T need to forgive her parents - if they've hurt her and haven't managed to be kind, she's allowed to grow from that past and prevent the pain from happening again by changing the people around her. Her situation is about how the past, whether painful or enjoyed, is important to your choices. She's fully mute and communicates through a phone app or notepad if others don't know JSL, if they do know JSL, she uses that. Early on in the series, to distract from her own pain of the past, she tries to join every school club that doesn't require voice use, but in the end she narrows down to joining the fashion club and wanting to design clothes.

Cure Hug's arc focuses on future memories, and how current struggles can make creating future memories a little more difficult. Cure Hug wants to see people learn and grow and experience more stuff, aiming to be a teacher in the future as her end goal and doing some babysitting jobs as she believes children having these experiences help them improve the future. However, she has a few phobias and worries that, when a kid she's babysitting might want to engage in an activity, can cause hesitancy to her - she has to balance her desires between them getting that experience, and not terrifying herself from the event. It causes quite a bit of conflict for her. Her Cure outfit being based on HUGtto's outfits also allowed me to add a few subtle teacher-esque elements in the concept design, but it had to be as frilly as HUGtto too. Liny captured that well for Hug.

Cure Hero's arc focuses on muscle memory - or more accurately, lacking it. Cure Hero has a brain condition in which that anything her body didn't learn to do before the age of five, she's incapable of retaining. This is based on a real issue, even if I don't have an exact name for it. Essentially, no matter how many times she tries to learn to ride a bike - even if she's successful - as soon as she's slept, she's back to square zero with it, unable to ride a bike. There are things she's capable of doing with muscle memory if she learned it earlier, but she's stagnant - that's the point of her. Cure Hero's arc is learning to come to terms with that and finding positives - not having muscle memory means that villains recognising their attack patterns to predict them can't predict Cure Hero. It means that she knows her stamina better than the rest of the team because of how much she practises the same thing over and over just to get one success. She grows to appreciate herself more.

As for the villains, they feed on memories - memories are often described with flavors. Bitter memories, sweet memories, sour memories - the Ruthless Kingdom villains consider these delicacies. They're not essential food for them, but more like a gourmet restaurant serving a more unethical dish rather than something that's nutritionally beneficial. They summon Wasuremono to take the memories, and when they're defeated, sometimes they release a ChibiCollect - a small item representing past Precure transformation items. They get insert into the Camera Scrapbook-style transformation device alongside a small "Cure Film" to indicate which Precure is using those powers.

I've done this because while this team's outfits are based on Yes! 5 GoGo, Happiness Charge, HUGtto, Hirogaru Sky, and a concept of celebrations and parties - I wanted people to be able to add to this fanseason with their own fancures for someone else's fanseason. You could make a Cute Collection cure themed on Kirakira A La Mode, or Mahoutsukai - and it's all good and fun and encouraged!

We haven't, unfortunately. We've been having a lot of medical appointments lately resulting in quite a bit of pain, so we haven't been watching much stuff.

I'm also very proud that Precure has given us a character like Nodoka! Girl, I was literally crying during the first episode because I had also needed to be in the hospital just a year prior to this show. Plus my stamina issues on top of that? I relate so hard. Shoutout to her beating the crap out of Daruizen - such a satisfying moment :)

For sure! It's really important to me that a girl like her gets to say no to helping someone after the franchise is so forgiveness-focused. It's good to teach that that kind of forgiveness isn't owed, too.

Context To Ask

I have a lot! Some of these based in canon due to what we're shown, some I feel can be interpreted this way, and some of these purely projection.

Hanadera Nodoka - moreso canon, but chronic fatigue and a few respiratory issues after her initial infection. Even in All Stars F we see her struggling to keep up with the train when the other girls were managing to due to this, before Rabirin steps into help.

Yumehara Nozomi - She's definitely neurodivergent, she's incredibly autism-coded, even if they never explicitly say the word. The girl has stimmed on screen before, she has a very particular style of learning and understanding the world, and I can definitely relate in a lot of ways.

Hoshizora Miyuki - Lack of muscle memory. I myself struggle with, on top of chronic fatigue and respiratory issues, no muscle memory for anything I try to learn after age five. We see Miyuki's level of clumsiness to the point that it isn't JUST clumsiness. She injures her entire hand when attempting to help sew a gift for Akane - injuries when sewing are normal, but that amount, to me, point toward something deeper. Not to mention, her struggle to catch volleyballs, the entire school trip episode with her immense bad luck, how her gift for her mother came out, etc. It reminds me of myself trying to learn new skills I didn't already have the muscle memory for at five, since it doesn't stick.

Natsuumi Manatsu - Neurodivergence again! this girl is SO Audhd coded, she's got the autism, she's got the ADHD, I don't have much to support this other than pointing at her and saying "Just look at the show!" because that's how it feels to me, there's so many moments that there'd be too many to list here.

Takizawa Asuka - Sensory Issues. She can only sleep with a particular pillow everywhere, her own personal pillow from home. Any other pillow feels wrong to her, to the point the other girls spend an episode rushing across the country, transformed, just to make sure they can deliver the pillow to her so she can sleep well.

It's DISABILITY PRIDE MONTH and so I am humbly asking for your best disabled headcanons for precure characters! Physical, sensory, neurodivergency, etc... the works!

Happy Disability Pride Month! As someone with chronic pain and fatigue, it meant so much to me to have a character like Nodoka in a show like Precure. She's one of the Only characters I can think of that actually deals with that kind of thing as a major part of her story, without overshadowing her as a character, and I just love that for her. I'm sure she helped a lot of kids feel seen, like she did for me!

Aww the pigeon! I know someone in my family that absolutely adores birds, especially the colorful and vibrant ones. Personally, I have a strong appeal towards seagulls - I already love the sea but they're also such silly lil birds. Love to spread out seeds for the birds to enjoy :)

We have a lot of seagulls here, too, and they're so pretty! Birds are beautiful creatures with how their feathers are, not only are they vibrant and colorful at times, their feathers are so so soft regardless of color! I love how soft and fluffy birds can feel.

Seagulls are very silly birds! It can look like they're always scowling and glaring at you - and they're very determined about stealing food where I am. I admire that, though! It shows they're courageous birds who are willing to jump in no matter what!

I really adore animals! Pigeons are so friendly - if I head to the lake, sometimes they'll fly up and land on my hand or arms! Due to sharing this call with some friends, the images are blurry, but look how beautiful and handsome these birds are! It's wonderful!
