Years ago, when Vesemir killed a siren, he hadn't anticipated the sound of a baby crying. In the cave where the siren had dwelled, he discovered an infant lying on a bed of seaweed—a baby boy, half-human and half-siren.
In that moment, regret washed over him as he realized the siren wasn’t a monster but a mother. Moved by compassion, Vesemir decided to take the child and entrusted him to a couple he knew in the nearby town of Lettenhove.
Years later, Vesemir was taken by surprise when Geralt arrived at Kaer Morhen with Jaskier, the now-grown half-siren. To complicate matters further, Jaskier remained completely unaware of his true heritage.
