This post is coming to you in two parts!

1. We have a shiny new MAIN BLOG ! 

As many of you know by now, rookiesrp has been riddled with bugs, from pages refusing to update to an inbox that just plain doesn't want to work to weird ghost HTML taking over the formatting on the masterlist to all sorts of other ridiculous things. A new main blog is LONG overdue! All future RK posts will be on rookieskrp, so go follow! (this blog will remain in tact for posterity, of course)

2. I (Admin Piper) am taking a hiatus from adminning for a while (but not from RK!). 

As I've said before, this summer has turned my life upside-down, and I haven't really been able to get my feet under me since my sister's accident. It came to a head on the 24th, when my well-meaning brother offered to fix my computer and phone (both are quite old and not particularly reliable) while I was at work. I didn't realize that he meant he was going to take my devices with him to HIS work... which keeps him out of town for a week or so at a time, which meant I just did not have a way to be online for Wednesday the 27th. I had my computer and phone back for the 3rd, but somehow my computer cord got lost in the shuffle and I wasn't able to do the actual queue (I did talk to mod Taemin on KKT from my phone, though!)

The mods have been trying to convince me for a while to take a step back, but I have a stubborn, independent streak that refused to be tamed. This computer thing, however, was the final straw- I realized that they are right and I really do need to follow my own advice and put real life first for a bit. So, for the time being, I'm going to step back into more of an advisory role in RK, giving more power to the mods you know and love (who, quite honestly, have been running the show like total champs pretty much on their own all summer). I'll still be the admin and I'll still be directing the show, I'll just be delegating more than I used to.

I'm not going anywhere- in fact, now that I'll have a little less admin work to do, I'm hoping to actually write for my own characters for the first time in 58415164 years. I haven't lost muse for them or for RK, I just need a breather. After two and a half years without a single hiatus, it's time, haha. Just to bold, underline, circle, and highlight the point- the mods are not only on board with this, it was their own suggestion that brought us to this point. We're all just as mushy and friendy and gross as ever, there's absolutely no problem within the admod team. Nothing but support and love over here!

Onwards and upwards, rookies! I hope you're as excited as I am for the next chapter in the RK story!

( * does a little dance in his seat before swatting away his own ridiculousness and laughing it off ) now i’m here in korea to pursue my music dream, become an idol, and make my family and myself proud. ( * points up and looks to the sky ) this one’s for you, mama. ( * clears throat ) ah, anyways, i’m hella excited for y'all to get to know me, love me as much as i love myself, and share my own love for the art that is music – so freakin’ beautiful, man! ( * cue cheesy smile )

→ aspiration, huh? ( * touches his index finger to his lips, biting the soft skin of his bottom lip just slightly ) i guess that would be to the best dancer and rapper i’d like to be. i do this not only for me, but my late grandma – she woulda loved all the stuff that i’ve made by now, and i know she’s so proud of me for making the huge step to move here and pursue that dream. ( * nods ) think of, like, a korean chance the rapper mixed with souldance’s junho lee – that’s who i wanna be. it’ll be a different thing to see in kpop, i’ll bring hyphy to this country! ( * cue another cheesy smile, along with a confident laugh )

→  Johnny glares at his crazy roommate as they set up the camera for this so-called audition tape. When his roommate yells action, Johnny removes all irritation from his face in favor of a small smile. “Hey, hey, hey! My name’s Johnny Seo….” He thinks of what else he can say. “I was born and raised in Chicago, but I spent half of childhood in the Philippines. I’m here in Korea since my editors want me to write a novel about rediscovering one’s roots… and what better way to do it than telling my own story?” He sighs as he ponders on what he can say without giving away too much. “I’m 18 years old and I’m a Civil Engineering major at Yonsei University. I’ve always liked both science and literature ever since I was a kid,” he adds. “And I also dance hip-hop and play soccer. I also learned to rap and write spoken-word poetry as a joke, but… I guess I’m better at them than I thought?” He laughs out loud as he ends his introduction.

Wʜʏ ᴀᴍ ɪ ʜᴇʀᴇ?

→ Johnny frown as he hears the next question. “Everyone keeps asking me ‘What’s next?’ and frankly, I don’t know the answer just yet.” He looks over to his friend who encourages him to just keep going. “There’s a lot of things I’m passionate about, so it’s hard deciding what I want to do with my future… Especially when people say my possibilities are limitless. And I guess I agreed to do this since I want people to see me as more than the writer and science boy Seo Youngho… Since the opportunity to try something crazy is here, why not try it? I might as well see what will make me truly happy.”

(/she greets the camera easily in english, lips curving into a full smile) my name is jennie kim, remember it. you’re going to be hearing it everywhere in the future! (/she pauses, eyes twinkling with excitement as her body comes alive) i’m a singer and a rapper and a star. i’ve got what you’re looking for, so why not save us all some time and pick me up? (/her hand transforms into a makeshift phone, pinkie finger and thumb extended to connect her mouth to her ear) call me!

→ (/she rolls her eyes as if the question itself is tiresome but quickly recovers to the bright and painted smile) why, to be a household name, of course! to be known for my talents and hard work, and to finally show what i’m made of. →  ( introductions had never actually been her favorite, though it was evident that she had no other choice. she let out a sigh, as to show her own discontent, for she knew the cameras would start rolling at any given moment. despite the fact that she was quite excited for this, it simply wasn’t in her personality to display her anticipation to the world, and it hadn’t been for a long while. it wasn’t until a nearby camera man motioned for her to speak that she realized the cameras had been on the entire time, but she still didn’t care. not wanting to ruin her own chances entirely, however, she forced a smile as she looked into the camera. it was obvious the smile was forced, as in no way did it appear genuine, but again… she didn’t care. ) hi! ( her tone was laced with sarcasm, and perhaps she sounded slightly patronizing. ) i’m jang sojin! but please, call me soyee. ( something about the fire in the girl’s eyes warned the viewers to heed her advice. ) i’m currently nineteen years old, and, would you believe it? i sell frozen yogurt, of all things. ( at this point, she was simply doing her best to mock the other young hopefuls. it hurt her soul. generally, she could not be bothered to show emotions. except maybe hatred. ) but that’s enough about me, let’s talk about my dreams! ( she wanted to die. )

Wʜʏ ᴀᴍ ɪ ʜᴇʀᴇ?

→ ( she had grown bored of mocking the other young hopefuls as she had originally intended to do for the entirety of the interview. as such, she finally allowed her own unenthusiastic charms to show. this way, she felt less like she wanted to punch herself in the face. ) this time, i’ll be honest. ( her forced grin immediately disappeared, allowing her features to return to their neutral state. ) i guess the best way to get this over with is for me to keep it short and simple and truthful. ( god, she hated expressing honest emotions, especially when she knew they were being filmed. it seemed as though she possessed no other choice, however. she was excited to be here, after all, and didn’t want to squander her own opportunities with her personality, which others often saw as dull or frightening. the frightening part she didn’t mind. ) i guess you could say i’ve wanted to do this since i was a kid, just like anyone else. some people in my life didn’t think i had it in me, and i want to prove them wrong. it’s simple, really. i know i can do this, and i want to prove to everyone else that i can do this, too. ( her wishes for a swift and immediate death grew tenfold. she stared into the camera, and then at the cameraman, realizing that she had covered what ground she thought needed to be covered. now embarrassed, she spoke quickly. ) alright, that’s enough. cut! ( she was now ready for it to be over. she had always wanted to yell ‘cut.’  she felt that she did well. )

[/he asks in a hushed tone with a contorted face, brows raised as if to try and hear what’s being said to him.] on? it’s on? [/he whispers before looking directly into the camera.] uh, hello. [/he quickly says with a clear of his throat.] my name is min yoongi, also known as suga. i’m a rapper. [/he brushes his fingertips along the edge of his ear as he thinks before letting his hand fall down on his lap.] i like to write… lyrics, of course. poetry. [/he nods again a couple times, the action a subtle movement.] i guess i play the piano pretty well. i’ll show you next time when i’m not… here, in this very room… and i have a piano with me.

→ i’m here to do music… [/he kisses his teeth softly at his own answer, not quite satisfied with it.] i’m here to make music, you know? i like the feeling of knowing that people like to listen to my music and enjoy it. i like the freedom that comes with making my own music and… feeling like i can express myself through it when i can’t with anything else. If the rookie hasn’t showed up in at least one week, they are cleared from the masterlist with no warning, while the names not on the sweep list can add three skill points using their tally sheet.
