Following @strawberri-animates's emptober idea, day one is normal but I didn't feel like writing an entire fanfic since I only remembered at 8:30 at night so just have some rambling about nature wives headcanons

Witches aren't allowed to marry humans because they're isolationist, but they took one look at Shelby and Katherine and went "these bitches gay, we can't stop them"

Katherine and Shelby's first kiss was in the Evermoore and the ghosts were just yelling "finally!" And bets were being cashed in

The witches are pretty "anything that isn't "normal" is bad" and so when Shelby looked through the library at Katherine's castle and found a book about the Emperors, she was absolutely thrilled to find a picture of High Wizard Gemini with a bi and a trans flag, she pretty much squealed about it excitedly the entire day

Katherine is naturally flirty, Shelby tries to flirt back but just devolves into incoherent muttering and blushing

Gem has literally sprayed Katherine with a water bottle because she wouldn't stop talking about how pretty Shelby was

How is any of this related to normal? This was originally meant to be domestic hcs but I'm ADHD and got sidetracked, also, no idea if I should tag the og creator of the Emptober calendar I'm following, don't know proper Tumblr protocol yet, sorry

Nature wives au where Katherine is a princess running away from an arranged marriage and Shelby is the witch accused of kidnapping her when in actuality she’s helping Katherine escape. It sounds like Tangled but I promise it’s not

Rambles under the cut

- Katherine is the kind but mysterious princess of a powerful kingdom who mainly exports in the form of fabrics and tailoring materials

- She’s not mysterious on purpose, it’s just that her parents are protective and don’t let her get out much

- She knows a lot about tailoring and actually quite enjoys it, finding it freeing

- She also likes snooping in on the knights and blacksmiths at work

- Her parents arranged her to be married to a far off sailor prince named Joe

- Katherine doesn’t want to marry some guy she doesn’t know, so she runs away

- Shelby is a witch who journeyed to the kingdom to try and find someone to make her a witch hat

- Unfortunately, this kingdom is not super witch friendly. Ergo, she’s generally shunned and kicked out of any towns she enters

- She tries not to get discouraged and makes it to the castle town, renowned for its tailors, hoping it’s the witch hate is a small town thing

- It’s not

- As soon as she’s spotted by a guard, she’s chased down

- She gets away on broomstick, but not before offering the girl she saw also running from guards a ride

- Katherine takes the ride and whoops, Shelby accidentally kidnapped the princess

- Once safe, they talk a bit and get to know each other, learning of each other’s plights

- Katherine offers to make Shelby a witch hat if Shelby gets her out of the kingdom

- Now Shelby normally wouldn’t get involved in something so dangerous just for a hat, but she did embark on this solo quest for a hat from a kingdom notorious for its tailors. Plus, everyone back home expects her to fail

- Motivated by spite, desperation and her quickly developing crush on this cute princess, Shelby agrees

- Now they’re on this gay magic road trip/mad escape from the kingdom

- Shelby has two familiars. Tortoise the toad, who was a gift from her grandmother, and Nimbus the crow, who showed up around when her magic turned weather-wise and is closer attuned to her elemental magic

ok so i recognize that shelby said in her stream today that witchcraft joey and pirate joe are not the same person. however, 1. @pixlostinatos and i were having this conversation before we knew about this and 2. this is funnier, so we're gonna pretend.

so we were talking about the implications of shelby and joey's endings, and the fact that, in his episode 3 of witchcraft, joey makes a remark about being "a pirate in a past life" (around the 31 minute mark)

we came to, like, two extended conclusions.

joey's ending for season 2 is akin to his season 1 ending. it was all a hallucination/dream, and he's just dead now. this is not in tone with the rest of the season, and as such, very unlikely, and less fun for all involved.

his ending is NOT a hallucination, and he just dies somehow in between the finale and the start of witchcraft. don't worry about it.

however, if he's reincarnated as witch!joey the Normal way (y'know, being born as a new person), that makes witch!joey, at most, 11 years old. and while it is hilarious to consider that all these adults took the competition with this 11 year old totally seriously, it's also... no. no i'm not doing that.

so, we decided that at some point in witch!joey's life, the soul of pirate joe just got shoved into his brain due to the whims of the universe. cause why not. it's kinda funny.

this leaves two options for how that went about, in our eyes.

the reasonable option: this is why witch!joey developed his fire powers. universe said "here's some new, antithetical powers, and a new soul to mix with yours. have fun!" he figured this out at some point in his life through normal reasons, perhaps by seeing shelby for the first time and being like "hold on, i know her. why am i a pirate in the memories i have with her."

the FUNNY option, and the reason i made this post: witch!joey and pirate joe's souls got combined at some point when he was a kid, and literally no one noticed, including witch!joey, for multiple years. witch!joey (canonically gay) only figured out something had happened when he briefly remembered katherine and was like "wait a second".

Nature Wives fic idea of Princess in a Tower x Witch Who's Tower it is Katherine's parents got mad at her for sneaking out to hunt monster so they require a "traditional" getting locked in a tower. Shelby's witch school assigns her "traditional" assignment to lock a princess in a tower. They both aren't exactly "traditional" when it comes romance though. (They are very gay instead)

katherine makes both her and shelby’s outfits but she won’t check to make sure shelby’s fits nor make adjustments because its bad luck to see your partner so shelby has to get scott for her but he charges her because its scott

oli sings for their first dance but its a 20 minute ballad he made called “the gay princess and the gayer witch” and its just him singing about their life over girl in red music

tortoise and sausage argue about the colour schemes but neither katherine nor shelby care. they settle on sage green and lavender

fwip makes a joke about lizzie being a ring bearer but shes a cat and for the rest of the wedding shes just staring at him but the mask shes wearing is smiling so its even creepier

katherine makes a tux tortoise with a little top hat

katherine wears a wedding dress and shelby either wears dress pants and a collared blouse and tie or a dress with a blazer (we couldn’t decide lol)

joey objects but as a joke but nobody thinks its a joke and shelby is the only one to laugh and sausage pulls him back down and yells at him

joel makes shelby and katherine a rainbow

fwip makes their rings and shelby is hovering the entire time

lizzie enchants the rings so that they can talk to each other from far away

Empires SMP S2 Theories,Headcannons, and Ships

[1] The current world of Empires Season 2 kinda looks similar to the map in season 1. In Pixilriff's video he said how the new season kinda takes place 100 years after the events of season one, so it kind of confirms that for me. A simple justification for the biomes is things like erosion, climate change, and tectonic plates. I'm not a geologist though, so don't come for me. [2] I think that a lot of the newer characters from season 2 could be descendants from the old empires in season 1. For example, Lizzie could be a descendant of the lost empire because she's a feline. I also think that Shelby could be from a now Crystal Cliffs. I think that could be possible, but then again, it just sounds really cool. This also gets me thinking that maybe the empires from season 1 could have survived the rapture because there seem to exist kingdoms/empires in season 2. [3] Joey x Sausage, I don't know where to start. Besides this being a cute ship. Joey and Sausage were making jokes about ... eating each other's ass, so its basically cannon lmao. Also, doesn't surprise Captain Joe has had other gay relationships. (He's a pirate) Joey x Shubble When I say this I mean platonically. In Joey's video, I like their interactions with each other. And a pirate-witch duo sounds so cool. Katherine x Gem Warrior princess x Sun princess, what else do you need to know.

Fwhip is the president of a group that collects rocks and minerals found around the school, neighborhood, etc.

Gem is the popular rich girl, but nice. Her and Katherine are BFF’s.

Pix is the Vice President of Fwhip’s rock club.

Scott is the overly-gay drama kid. Need I say more.

False is the student who transferred in the middle of the school year and is suspicious of everybody.

Sausage is school president. He was voted in for his kind personality and ability to calm down any school fights before any teachers find out.

Joey is school vice president and is also a dramatic gay theater kid. He just gives those vibes. He’s also obsessed with being a pirate.

Shelby is the school witch. She’s not very good at it though. She’s also in Fwhip’s rock club for the sake of showing off magic crystals. She got an OSS (Off School Suspension) from school before.

I have an idea for empires season 2 high school au.

Jimmy and Joel are both in student council and the school paper. Joel writes most of the fun headlines and calls all of his scoops “school lore”. Jimmy writes more serious stuff and takes his job seriously, so he writes news reports on assembly’s or lunches. Jimmy is more in charge of the monitoring of students in student council while Joel helps make posters and school events. For some reason people like both of them equaling even if they’re opposites.

Lizzie is not in any clubs but Joel often asks her for things to write about if he’s hit a stump and credits her as “shadow lady”, people who know who it is (people in the school paper) also tend to call her that. Another note about Lizzie, she’s normally seen as the weird girl who feeds the raccoons behind the school.

Katherine is cursed (obviously) but it’s more so an unlucky streak. Most people tend to stay away but she still is seen as popular (but mostly seen as weird).

That’s all I’ve got rn but if anyone has more ideas from others that I haven’t watched as much then I’d love to hear it!
