It... kind of ended up being... a little bit more Baz/Shepard? But it is Simpard at it’s core? I think at least. (Simon, vying for Shepard’s deep desire to get a high five from Baz.)

Baz

 Shepard keeps trying to give me a high-five.

It’s become a battle of sorts at this point. Something happens, he raises his hand, I walk the other way.

(Simon always reciprocates. Says he doesn’t want to leave Shepard hanging or whatever.)

 “Today is Shepard’s birthday,” Simon states absentmindedly. The television is playing softly in the living room (the news. It’s bleak. Like everything during the pandemic.) “I think he’s sad he can’t fly home to America.” 

He lifts his tea to his lips, drinking what must be the remains. Our plates are clean from breakfast, and I’ve only a bit of coffee remaining. 

(I down it in two gulps, waiting.)

Waiting for him to get to the point.

We’ve already got plans for the day. There’s a cake on the counter, Simon’s going to order in burgers or something else that will feel utterly American. 

What else could he bring up? What else do we need to do? 

“I think you should give him a high-five today,” Simon says.

I groan.

“Oh, come off it,” he says, cutting me off before I can complain further. “It’s a simple collision of two hands-”

“Don’t word it like that.”

“You know what I mean,” he sighs. “He really wants one from you.”

I raise an eyebrow.

“Does he?”

“Yes, but you knew that. Don’t be daft.”

“Did you just call me-”

“Yes! Daft! You’re the daft one today, congratulations.” 

I roll my eyes, picking up our mugs to clean. “Did you pay the electric?”

I hear him mutter fuck under his breath as I walk into the kitchen.

“Who’s the daft one now?” I ask, laughing to myself. 

(I paid it yesterday, knowing he’d forget.)

Three hours later.

“Baz,” Simon mutters to me in the kitchen. He’s placing candles on the cake, already trying to push me away because fire. “You should do it.”

I grab a few plates from the cupboard, watching Simon out of the corner of my eye. 

(For someone so concerned about me near fire, he sure has the match close to the paper towels.) 

“The high-five, I mean.” 

“I assumed, Snow.” 

I carry the plates to the dining room and turn off the lights, waiting for Simon to enter with the cake.  

(It takes three swears and a few minutes before he does.)

Then, the room fills with Penelope, Simon, and I sing happy birthday. Shepard sits in the chair, a sash over his chest (Penelope’s doing) and an obnoxiously large smile on his face.

Penelope is tone-deaf, but it works.

(Simon, surprisingly, isn’t.)

Shepard blows out his candles and gives us all thanks. 

I sit next to him, cutting slices of cake, trying not to give myself one with cheap candle wax on it (I told Simon to get better candles, but he insisted on the dinosaur ones.)

“What did you wish for?” Simon asks, shoving a forkful of cake into his mouth. 

Shepard waxes on about how you can’t say what your wish is, or else it won’t come true.  He even starts into a long story about a genie he met in Canada confirmed it.

(Though he admits the genie could have been fucking with him.)

“Well, Shepard,” I say, standing up to collect plates and melted candles, “Happy birthday.”

I raise my hand towards him, watching as his face lights up.

(Crowley, I’m going to regret this.)

It’s over in about a second, and all I’m left with is a tingly feeling in my hand, and the loud thwack his hand made when it hit mine.

I rub the palm of my hand, frowning.

“Oh, Christ, I’m sorry, Baz,” he says, sincerity clear on his face. “I didn’t think it would hurt! Simon said you’re kevlar.”

“Wait, that hurt you?” Simon asks.

“No,” I lie. I grab the plates and make my way into the kitchen.

When I walk out I hear another loud slap, and I know it’s between Simon and Shepard.  

And while I may never truly understand it, I’m glad. I’m glad Simon has a friend. 

(Even if it’s one just as ridiculous and ill-mannered as him.)

You’re on the studio recording your new upcoming single that will released soon in February. The song will be called I Like Me Better and it was kinda dedicated to someone in my life. Lol it’s for Calum.

And suddenly Calum texted you.

You honestly curious about what hair color he would pick. Then you put your phone back to your pocket and recording again.

2 hours later, at 8 PM, you went home and resting your body to the bed. You were startled because you got a video call from Calum. Ah he probably wants to show you his new hair and you answered the call.

“Hi Bar,” he greeted you while touching his new hair.

“Oh my God.” You were in shocked because he dyed his hair into blonde. The only color didn’t show up in your head. His hair is now too bright for you to see because his dark hair was your favorite.

He frowned. “What? You don’t like it? Is it bad?” He asked you and he looked so worried that you wouldn’t like it.

Then you grinned. “I love it. I love it so much Cal. It really suits you and you look so handsome.”

“Really?” He smiled so brightly. “Thanks.” “I wish i could see you now. How’s the recording?”

“It went great but i have to catch up tomorrow because it hasn’t finished yet. How you doing? I missed you so much.”

He touched his hair again. “I missed you too, Bar. I gotta go, see you soon? Bye.”

The video call ended and you post something on your Instagram and turned out he did as well.

It’s January 25 at midnight and you secretly came to Calum’s house for surprising him. And it’s been 3 weeks since the last time you two met. You opened the door slowly so it won’t make any sound, you closed it and go to the kitchen. You opened the box and pulled out the cake. You light the candle and walked slowly to his bedroom with a cake on your left hand. It was a small cake you made by yourself special for his birthday.

You opened his room and you saw him sleeping and his face was covered in sheets. You touched his face slowly and kissed his hair. “Wake up, it’s your birthday.” You whispered to his ear and he slowly moving his head.

“Hmm?” He opened his eyes and he saw you stood there before him handed a cake with 23 candles. “Oh hey.” He waved his had and get up from the bed.

“Happy bday, my lovely Calum Hood.” He blowed the candle and sit on the bed again. “Do you want to taste the cake? Because i made it by myself or you want to sleep again?”

He nodded. “I want to taste it, please?” He said please with a smile even though he’s sleepy. You brought the cake out from his room to the kitchen bar. You sat on it and sliced the cake for you and Calum. You honestly didn’t know how it tasted. You put the sliced cake on two plates and when you about to walk back to his room, he went out and joined you on the bar.

“Hey, here’s the cake, try it. And please don’t make any negative comment about it?” You giggled and he chuckled.

He tasted and he made an unknown expression. “Good, it’s good. It’s delicious. My girl is so talented.” He kissed your lips for a brief and you were bit shocked. The last time we kissed were in last Desember. But you didn’t hesitate and kissed him back.

You both kissed with passionate and he lead you to his bedroom while we still kissing (sorry I’m suck at explaining). We break the kiss and you opened his shirt while he opened your button sleeves. And then he kissed your neck and your hand was all over his back.

Your eyes opened slowly when the sunlight blinding your sight. Why my room looks so different? Wait, you looked inside the blanket and you saw yourself naked. What? You looked beside you and there was Calum sleeping. So you were in Calum’s house and today was his birthday and we just had sex at midnight? You felt your face is burning right now and you biter your bottom lip. So this was happening? This is finally happened.

“Hey,” he greeted you while you were having a dirty thoughts about your last night sex with him. “You have a good sleep?”

You nodded slowly. “So… us? Last night?” You bited your lip again and now his face was the one who’s burning.

“Yeah… we did it last night.” He said it shyly. “So… we’re dating now? Like in a real relationship this time?” He asked you. And you nodded.

“Yes, we’re dating now and i can proudly call you a boyfriend.” You kissed his lips. “Oh by the way happy birthday, my boyfriend.”

He giggled. “Thank you my girlfriend., and thank you for gave me the best birthday present ever, that last night.” You chuckled and kissed him again.

Here’s my theory about the extent of Jimin’s birthday present for Jungkook.

Again, like I said, this is PURELY a theory and, like, 95% delulu/fan fiction, based on what we’ve learned in the past few hours and what I know about Jikook’s personalities. 

1) Jimin planned to surprise Jungkook this entire time.

I don’t necessarily think Jimin went to Paris for the sole purpose of shopping for JK’s birthday gifts or for the sole purpose of facilitating a surprise, but I think he did decide that, upon planning a trip to Paris, he would use the opportunity to surprise Jungkook.

We know from the RUN episode where the boys had to find the spy in the mall (and Jimin was one of the spies), that Jungkook is very gullible when it comes to Jimin. Jimin probably made up some story about why he wanted to go to Paris and how Jungkook’s birthday weekend was the ONLY time he could go. And Jungkook probably bought it.

But knowing Jimin, he probably needed to play quite a balancing act. Even though he didn’t do anything wrong and Jungkook was probably OK with him spending the weekend in Paris instead of with him, let’s be real: The Jimin we know would feel AWFUL for missing Jungkook’s birthday, even if the reason made sense.

Based on that Ramen interaction on 8/23, I’d stand to reason he spent a lot of time with JK before he left for Paris to sort of sell that he felt bad for spending Jungkook’s birthday in Paris. And Jungkook was probably kind of bummed, but trying to be mature. I can imagine him pouting while they were eating ramen like in the VLIVE after Jimin turned off the Eat Jin VLIVE without letting Jungkook say hello, like, “You’re going to be away on my birthday,” and Jimin being like, “I already apologized/explained. Can I leave now?” Haha.

2) Jimin pre-recorded Jungkook’s birthday message as a fake out.

I think all of us thought, when we watched Jimin’s video for Jungkook, that it was a little weird. But we were all so stressed out from all the BS going down on Twitter and all the doubters and antis popping off on Tumblr over the past few days that we didn’t feel free to speculate about it or be irreverently delulu. But yes, when I watched the video, I was like, “This is weird AF.” Like, Jimin always goes all out on Jimin’s birthday. Why did he post this stilted-ass video? Is he planning some sort of surprise?

I stopped myself from voicing this opinion, landing on the idea that maybe they had some inside joke between them. Like it was a play on that thing they do where they pretend they don’t know each other and shake each other’s hands at events for photos? And that they must have texted outside of the video. Jimin must have texted him like, “I miss you. Wish I was there for your birthday. Hope you’re having an amazing day. Can’t wait to celebrate when I get back! LOL at my goofy video for the fans.”

Well, knowing what I know now, I do think that they def texted outside of that video, but the video itself was to keep up appearances. I think Jungkook knows that Jimin would never not post ANYTHING on social media for his birthday. Even if they were planning to see each other at a later date to celebrate since ~JiMIn wAs In ParIS~, it’s just not like Jimin to NOT  post anything on Twitter for Jungkook’s b-day. So Jimin posted that pre-recorded video to throw Jungkook off his sent.

Like, “Happy birthday, Jungkook! Look at the parisian landscape behind me! I’m def still in Paris! We’ll celebrate later, I promise. Haha.. But I’m TOTALLY still in Paris, see?”

3) Jimin used Hobi to facilitate the surprise party.

I believe that Jimin planned the surprise party, but used J-Hope to facilitate it. The decorations in the background suggest Jimin was the one who decorated for the party, but how could he have decorated Jungkook’s apartment in the evening and had Jungkook show up without blowing the surprise?

WELL, *DISCLAIMER: WE’RE GETTING DEEP IN DELULU TOWN HERE* I think that the party took place at J-Hope’s apartment. I think, since J-Hope and JK live in the same complex, Jimin planned the party using J-Hope. He told all of Jungkook’s friends about the party, showed up at J-Hope’s early to do the decorating, and then just made sure J-Hope texted Jungkook to show up at his apartment at the right time. I could even imagine him going over what J-Hope should text JK to come over. Haha. But, you know, this is delulu as hell. lololol.

4) Jungkook was probably so friggin’ surprised.

I can imagine Jungkook showing up to J-Hope’s apartment feeling resigned to the fact that it was the first time he was spending his birthday apart from Jimin. He was probably ok with it, but lowkey bummed. Probably thinking he was just going to chill with Hobi, have a drink or something.

But I can imagine he opened the door to find Jimin standing in the center of all his friends and Hobi in Hobi’s apartment with that rainbow cake and all his presents and what not, and him just starting to cry (like in the birthday prank from way back when). Because even though he was cool with Jimin spending his birthday in Paris, he would have really liked to spend his bday with Jimin, too, you know? So he’s crying and Jimin’s like BLOW OUT THE CANDLES, THEY’RE MELTING...

And after he blows out the candles, Jimin probably set down the cake and hugged Jungkook and started consoling JK and petting his head to calm him down like in Bring The Soul, like, “Why are you crying? Stop. You’re going to make me cry!”

Then he starts giving him all the presents he bought for him in Paris and Jungkook’s just like, “Jinja?Jinja? I really had no clue!” And when he opens the shirt Jimin bought for him, Jimin demands he puts it on that instant (like he demanded he put all his stuff in the bag he bought him last year) so that he could take a picture of him wearing the shirt. And Jungkook is so happy that he does it.

And Jimin is giving Jungkook (in the shirt he bought him in Paris with his messy fluffy hair) heart eyes like he did in the birthday bag bangtan bomb from last year because he’s so happy he pulled off his huge surprise, so he wants the world to know he did a good job and snaps a pic to post on Twitter.

Yeah, so that’s the theory/fan fic I wrote in my head based on everything we learned over the past few hours. Delulu as hell, but oddly, I also don’t feel like it’s too far fetched. And even if Jikook are just friends (though I do feel like they’re more), I still think Jimin planned this surprise for him because their bond is so great.

Even if only a fraction of this theory-verging-on-fan-fic turns out to be correct, Jimin is really such a sentimental, caring person. Can you imagine being this loved? Damn, I’m jealous.
