I'm a fan of wired earphones, I had to say it. Wired earphones may be annoying at times but for wireless, God forbid I put my phone down, leave the room, & someone *gasp* sees what music I listen to. The horror.

me with my wireless headphones waiting for my wired ones to come because the whole battery thing is kinda tedious
Good god SOMEONE GETS IT!!! I also hate having to remember to charge or put batteries in headphones. I want to listen to things at any given moment. I don’t wanna wait for things to charge.
List of other wired headphones plus sides-
- I cannot count how many times wired headphones have saved my phone from completely falling on the floor, and making it more shattered it is
- It helps me remember my phone since I am physically tethered to it and cant just get up from somewhere and leave it without noticing
- If you have a detachable aux cord for your phone you can connect your phone to a car without having to wait for bluetooth to load
- or you can connect your headphones to a computer without having to wait for the bluetooth options to load.
- i have personally found the audio quality of wired headphones to be better than bluetooth headphones or earbuds
- headphones in general are just more comfortable than earbuds ill die on that goddamn hill. (You also don’t have to clean earwax/skin oils off of them just sayin)
- the wired headphones I currently use have outlived every bluetooth headphone I’ve used by a few years and I’ve only had to replace the wire.
- a headphone’s wire is basically just a built in fidget toy.
The only downside I can think of for wired headphones is that they get annoying to wear if you’re running or exercising, or just generally doing something that requires a lot of movement, but I’ve adapted by just putting the cord over my shoulder and through the belt loops of my pants.
Thank you Tumblr user bloodbonnieking for letting me share my headphones opinions.

now with airpods when a girl/guy lends you one of their earphones to show you a song there's no need to lean in and get so close that your heart starts racing and your eyes dart around looking at everything except from her bc ur afraid that if u do look at them you'd feel what you think you feel for them in full force, now you can literally do that 10 feet away from each other and THAT is one of the many reasons why apple is homophobic

Hey y'all. Okay, so I just remembered something.
It's around abouts 2010ish and my vocation is basically groundskeeper. I've got a seasonal position for the city parks department where I swing a weedeater all day. I love being outdoors and everything, but my autistic ass could not stand the mind numbing droning of a two stroke, so I figured out an mp3 player and some wired earbuds and we were golden. Doubled as hearing protection, even (no it didn't do not do this you will ruin your hearing). The cord was cumbersome, but mp3 players were the perfect size at the time and fit perfectly in a breast pocket.
The the phones got smart and I could carry ALL my music and self-updating podcast libraries plus internet in one device. Cool. But it was never comfortable for me as smartphones didn't regularly fit that well in breast pockets, especially when you're constantly moving, so it had to be a pants pocket, which meant I either had to let it dangle free (dangerous) or thread it under my shirt (uncomfy).
Sure, there was Bluetooth, but bt earbuds were these bulky, pinchy things, not the discrete buds we have now. So that didn't work.
Until I found this.
Behold the Sony Ericsson mw600. About the size of a double A, it connects wirelessly to your phone, you plug in your wired headphones and jam. It can clip to your shirt or what have you, it displays track information and the time, play/pause/change track without touching your phone, mic for calls (also with call controls), volume control, batteries for days, nigh-indestructable, even in rain... And it wasn't even that expensive at the time. It looks like they're going for about $100 or so, now.
Thought you might be interested.
Why do you need your earbuds to have a wire so badly?
I am assuming this is about a post I reblogged like six months ago when I went off on forced technological enshitification and the slow erosion of consumer options. But sure, I'll bite.
Why do I "need" my earbuds to have a wire? I dunno, Anon, maybe I:
Don't want to have to worry about recharging my earbuds.
Don't want my earbuds to be even easier to lose.
Don't want my earbuds to need separate accessories that are as easy to lose as the earbuds.
Prefer to have bluetooth turned off on my devices for security and safety reasons.
Like being able to seamlessly plug my earbuds into my computer, my MP3 player, or any other device with a headphone jack.
Don't want to spend 50 dollars on decent wireless earbuds when I can do all the above things with a pair of solid earbuds that cost me like $12 during the Obama administration.
Don't care about what kinds of headphones or earbuds people wear but don't like what it says about our society when other people apparently care what kind of earbuds I'm wearing so much they have send an Anonymous ask to interrogate me about it.
And I guess, more abstractly, because fuck Apple. That's why.

I’ve recently had to go back to wired headphones because the stray dog I was trying to catch and home (now my dog Sophie, named after Sophie Wexler) ATE one of my wireless earbuds while trying to steal hotdogs out of my backpack. And I am fairly certain my headphones have already saved my phone from hitting the ground at least three times. Not sure I’ll be going back to Bluetooth ones

Different Types of Eartips. How to Choose best Eartips for your In Ear Monitor.
In the realm of audio aficionados, the In-Ear Monitor (IEM) stands as a pinnacle of personal audio experience. Offering immersive sound quality and unparalleled portability, IEMs have become a staple for music lovers and professionals alike. Yet, amidst the allure of crisp highs and resonant bass, there lies a critical element often overlooked: the humble eartip.
Eartips, those small silicone or foam sleeves that adorn the ends of our IEMs, are more than mere accessories. They are the unsung heroes responsible for delivering sound directly into our ears with precision and comfort. Think of them as the gateway between you and your audio nirvana.
Why do manufacturers provide a variety of eartips, ranging from small to large? The answer lies in the diversity of human anatomy. Just as our fingerprints differ, so do the shapes and sizes of our ear canals. A one-size-fits-all approach simply won’t suffice when it comes to achieving optimal sound isolation and comfort.
Enter the world of eartip materials: silicone and foam. While both serve the same fundamental purpose, they each offer unique characteristics tailored to individual preferences. Silicone eartips are known for their durability and ease of cleaning, providing a reliable seal for consistent sound delivery. On the other hand, foam eartips conform to the shape of your ear canal, offering superior noise isolation and enhanced comfort over extended listening sessions.
But how does one navigate the labyrinth of eartip options when shopping online? It’s a daunting task, to say the least, without the luxury of physically trying out different sizes and materials. Fear not, for armed with knowledge, you can make an informed decision.
Consider factors such as your ear canal size, preferred level of noise isolation, and desired comfort level. Reading user reviews and seeking recommendations from trusted sources can also provide valuable insights into which eartips may suit your needs best.
In conclusion, this article aims to serve as a beacon of guidance in your quest for the perfect eartips. Whether you're a seasoned audiophile or a casual listener, understanding the nuances of eartip selection can elevate your audio experience to new heights. So, let us embark on this journey together, as we uncover the secrets behind selecting the Best Eartips for In-Ear Monitors.
Different Type of Ear Tips
1. Rubber Ear Tips:
Rubber ear tips represent the most basic type of eartips, often included with budget-friendly IEMs. While they may seem like a convenient option, they come with drawbacks. Rubber tips tend to be harder and less comfortable than other materials. Moreover, they have a higher likelihood of causing irritation to the skin due to their rigid nature. Consequently, they are generally not recommended for prolonged use with IEMs.
2. Silicone Ear Tips:
Silicone ear tips offer an improvement over rubber ones in terms of comfort and irritation. They are softer and gentler on the skin, making them more suitable for extended listening sessions. However, silicone eartips may not be the best choice for activities like exercise or running, as they can become slippery and prone to falling out when exposed to moisture. Despite this drawback, silicone eartips are relatively easy to clean, providing a durable option for everyday use.
Additionally, silicone ear tips come in various designs, including domes with different flange choices. These flanges, ranging from single to double or triple fringe, offer users the flexibility to find the perfect fit for their ears, enhancing comfort and sound isolation.
3. Foam Ear Tips:
Foam ear tips reign supreme in terms of comfort, resembling earplugs with a hole through the center. They are designed to fit snugly inside the ear canal, creating an effective seal that isolates sound from the outside world. This superior seal not only blocks out external noise but also results in increased bass response and decreased highs, enhancing the overall listening experience.
Foam eartips are favored by many audiophiles and professionals for their exceptional comfort and sound quality. They mold to the shape of the ear canal, ensuring a personalized fit that minimizes discomfort during extended wear.
4. Comply Air Foam:
Comply Air Foam ear tips represent an evolution of traditional foam eartips, offering several feature upgrades. Similar to foam eartips, Comply Air Foam tips provide unparalleled comfort and sound isolation. However, they incorporate advanced materials and construction techniques to further enhance performance.Features such as breathable cores and improved memory foam ensure a secure fit and extended durability. Additionally, Comply Air Foam tips are designed to maintain their shape and sealing properties even in humid conditions, making them suitable for active lifestyles.
5. Hybrid Eartips:
Hybrid eartips, a less common option in the world of eartips, blend the characteristics of both foam and silicone materials. These unique eartips typically feature a silicone outer layer with a foam core, combining the durability of silicone with the comfort and sound isolation of foam.
While hybrid eartips could seem to offer the best from both worlds, they're far less common in comparison to their pure silicone or foam counterparts. There could be many factors as to why these aren't as popular, such as the complexity of manufacturing and limited demand from consumers. Either way, these have an appeal to them that will resonate with a lot of people that want a balance between comfort, durability and quality sound. Either way, some may find it difficult to find the right fit, but that's something we're already acclimated to, right?
How to choose comfortable best eartips for your IEM
Choosing the Best Eartips for Your IEM:
Picking the best eartips for your In-Ear Monitor (IEM) is a different foray altogether, as the human ear canal is a diverse thing. Each person's ear canal has a distinct size and shape, which means all types of sizes and materials must be available for eartips. From the soft, plushy foam to a harder, resilient rubber eartips that offer densities based on listener preference, manufacturers create a gamut of options that satisfy these demands. Foam eartips emerge as a winner in the comfort category, given the eartip has the ability to conform to the exact shape of any ear canal. These eartips can offer a snug fit that doesn't cause discomfort over long listening sessions plus the plushy feeling doesn't hurt, either. These are a popular choice among audiophiles and casual listeners, alike.
Eartips Durability
In terms of durability, silicone ear tips have the upper hand in this category. Constructed of a tough building material, these eartips have the ability to take a beating and last for many years without a noticeable degradation in quality. Because the material is so resilient, these eartips will maintain their shaping sealing properties over time, so listeners can expect their sound to remain consistent throughout their lifespan.
Foam eartips are also less durable than silicone eartips. While they offer optimal comfort, they are susceptible to earwax and dirt contamination. As earwax and dirt build up on the eartips, their performance will be compromised over time. Here are tips to prolong your eartips' lifespan:
Tips for Prolonging Eartip Lifespan
Aside from choosing the proper size of eartips, it's imperative to handle them with care. Always handle eartips with clean hands to avoid transferring dirt and bacteria. It’s equally important to avoid exposing eartips to excessive moisture or heat, as this can expedite their degradation. Proper IEM maintenance also helps in preserving the lifespan of their eartips.
Regularly clean your earpieces and eartips to prevent the accumulation of earwax and debris, thus ensuring optimal hygiene and performance. Lastly, storing your IEMs in a protective case when not in use will shield them from damage and enable them to be enjoyed for an extended time. By practicing these eartip and IEM maintenance practices, you can rest assured that your eartips and IEMs will continue offering exceptional sound quality and comfort for years to come.
Chossing the different Size of Eartips:
Choosing the Right Size of Eartips for Your IEM:
Selecting the correct size of eartips is crucial for achieving optimal comfort, sound isolation, and audio quality with your In-Ear Monitor (IEM). When you buy IEMs online, it’s nearly impossible to discern which size to choose without physically trying them on. Here’s how you can make an informed decision:
1. Review Manufacturer Guidelines: Many IEM companies offer sizing recommendations or guides based on their eartip dimensions and average ear canal sizes. Reference these guidelines to gain valuable insight into which size may be right for you.
2. Measure Your Ear Canal: If possible, measure your ear canal diameter using a calipers or ruler and compare it to the dimensions provided by the manufacturer to find the eartip size to order. Make an educated guess.
3. Consider Your Comfort Preference: While some individuals like to have eartips that are a size down for increased noise isolation, others prioritize comfort and will prefer eartips that are a size up. Your personal preference and tolerance level will dictate what size is best for you. This is one reason why replacement eartips are usually sold in sets; some experimentation is required.
4. Read User Reviews: While it can be hard to come across this kind of information for certain earphones, minimizing the risk of ordering the wrong size is a big advantage of buying replacement eartips that other people have tried or tested.
5. Experiment with Multiple Sizes: Try to find a pair of IEMs that comes with a variety of eartip sizes so you can experiment with different sizes.
6. Consider Exchange Policies: While there are third-party eartip companies that do not allow earip returns, many manufacturers will send you a set of eartips of a different size at no charge, so it's not a bad idea to make sure this is an option.
7. Ask For Help: If you feel like the eartips will be the part of your earphones that need replacing most frequently, you may also want to consider asking for advice on what size would be most appropriate for your ear.
By taking all of these factors into account and utilizing available resources, you can drastically increase the likelihood that you’ll choose the correct size of eartips – even if you’re buying them online.
Conclusion:
Hopefully you now have a better understanding of the importance of IEM eartips and have found the information in this guide useful. They’re often an overlooked yet critical component of the earphone. With so many varieties to choose from, finding the right eartips for your in-ear monitors can often be somewhat of a daunting process. We do hope that this article has helped to alleviate the common issue many people face when trying to find these ever-elusive eartips. If this is the first IEM that you’re purchasing, welcome to the world of great sounding music wherever you go; these things can be a fantastic investment that last for years if cared for properly. Remember to protect your hearing and avoid having the music too loud in your ears.

Wearables in the Workplace: Can Smartwatches Increase Efficiency?
The number of organisations using automated or digital processes to increase productivity has grown over time. These same companies have been urged to implement connected technology in order to optimise its potential across the entire enterprise by the Internet of Things (IoT). In the current work environment, as organisations shift to a hybrid model of operation, wearable technology is being leveraged by businesses to boost worker productivity.
Among these innovations, the smartwatch has gained popularity as a potential tool to improve productivity and efficiency at work in addition to being a fashionable personal accessory. In this blog, we will look at the advantages of wearing smartwatches to work and how, in particular, their fitness-tracking features can keep people connected and enhance their general well-being.
Benefits of Using Smartwatches at Work
There are numerous benefits of using smartwatches at work to improve productivity and enhance efficiency. Below mentioned are the top five benefits of using smartwatches at work:
1. Instant Notifications: Smartwatches offer instant notification access without disrupting workflow. They discreetly display updates on emails, messages, and important alerts, allowing professionals to stay informed without constantly checking their phones. This quick glance feature prevents distractions while ensuring essential information is readily available.
2. Time Management is Made Simple: Efficient time management is crucial in the workplace, and smartwatches facilitate this by providing tools for scheduling and task management. From setting reminders for meetings to managing deadlines, these devices offer accessible and user-friendly features that help professionals stay organised and on track with their commitments.
3. Quick Access to Information: Smartwatches serve as a convenient source for accessing real-time information. Whether it's checking the weather forecast, stock market updates, or other relevant data, users can swiftly retrieve information directly from their wrists. This quick access to pertinent information aids in making informed decisions promptly.
4. Uninterrupted Communication: Maintaining communication flow is vital for productivity. Smartwatches enable swift responses to calls, messages, and notifications, allowing professionals to stay connected without interruption. The ability to answer calls or send quick replies directly from the wrist ensures that individuals remain accessible to colleagues and clients.
5. Personalised Experience: The customizable nature of smartwatches empowers users to tailor their experience. Individuals can set preferences for notifications, apps, and features that align with their work style. This customization ensures that professionals utilise the functionalities that best suit their specific work requirements.
Smartwatch Helps You Stay Connected
Our wristwatches have become an extension of our smartphones, providing instant access to calls, emails, calendar reminders, and notifications. Professionals can stay informed without constantly checking their phones thanks to this real-time connectivity, which reduces distractions during critical work hours. Users can stay informed while concentrating on their tasks by discreetly skimming incoming notifications.
In addition, a lot of smartwatches have customizable settings that let users rank priority for notifications. By helping to filter out less important alerts, this feature makes sure the wearer only receives truly important messages. Smartwatches allow for seamless communication without interfering with workflow, whether it is answering urgent emails or scheduling meetings.
Smartwatch Fitness Tracker
Beyond the advantages of connectivity, smartwatches have fitness-tracking features that can greatly improve a person's well-being. Smartwatches encourage users to stay active throughout the day by acting as fitness companions in a workplace where extended sitting and sedentary behaviour are prevalent.
These gadgets have functions like heart rate tracking, step tracking, and movement reminders. Workers are encouraged to stretch or go for occasional walks by being given the opportunity to set goals, monitor their physical activity, and receive prompts to take brief breaks. Smartwatches help counteract the negative effects of a sedentary work schedule by encouraging a healthier lifestyle and reminding users to exercise.
Furthermore, a few smartwatches have sleep tracking features that provide information on the quantity and quality of sleep. The likelihood that a well-rested worker will be attentive and efficient during working hours emphasises how crucial getting enough sleep is to overall performance.
Conclusion
To summarise, smartwatches are revolutionising workplace efficiency through their ability to deliver instant notifications, streamline work processes, simplify time management, facilitate seamless communication, and personalise productivity tools. These devices also improve focus, accessibility, and convenience, which saves time and optimises workflow.
As smartwatch technology advances, it will become more specialised and offer features tailored to specific industry needs. In short, smartwatches are becoming indispensable tools that revolutionise productivity and foster a more connected and productive work environment for professionals.

So, my latest pair of earbuds lasted me a real long time. I say lasted, past tense, because they quite literally snapped. The bit that the rubber bud attaches to? Broke off with the bud still on it, have no clue why.
I’m not even upset, it’s just too absurd for me to feel anything than confused about how this happened
