Just picked colours to go with the leather and the endpapers. No special step involved aside from sewing endbands on a loose core. (I usually cheat and prepare glue on cores to sew around, if you don't know what I mean, I have a post with pictures of what they can look like here).

Some wips/sketches because I am on e again on my murderbot grind again... These books are amazing and I have serious beef with how the adaptation is looking but perhaps I will elaborate on that later. Planning to fully render these all later, would be good practice etc. I seriously need to get my hands on system collapse... Pray for me

another animatic sneak peak!

Discord didn't like my gif, but hopefully tumblr can handle it! A shot from the project I'm working on: a Murderbot animatic set to Walk Me Home by P!nk. This is what my process looked like from start to finish--I basically made the whole animatic in rough thumbnails like the top row, and I'm now going through and redrawing them and then adding color! (I might still mess with the colors in this shot. The contrast in the final version is higher than in the original, and I'm not sure I like it.)

The animatic is focused on Murderbot & Mensah's relationship over the course of the books. Walk Me Home has the perfect vibes for the two of them, in my opinion--that feeling of trust & holding on to each other in the face of everything going on around you. This shot is set to the line "I can't be alone with all that's on my mind."

Here’s the skin I have for the robot doll. It’s gotten frayed enough that it would be annoying to use, but I definitely want to still use this pattern! I might bring the hips in a little to give it more definition, since when it sits…

Trying to decide how the fuck I wanna draw Murderbot's face.

HOW DO I DRAW A GENERIC HUMAN FACE OF INDETERMINATE GENDER.

I have noticed with the genderless or enby characters I draw, if the character has short or no hair, people tend to assume guyhood even if I don't use he/him pronouns ever.

I feel like I only settled on an eye shape. It's very necessary for looking 100% done all the time and wanting to watch Sanctuary Moon instead of having to deal with Situations™

The power is still out (thanks Helene!), and the power company says it could be out until October 4th (Friday).

Tumblr eats up my phone and iPad batteries, so I’m limiting the amount of time I spend here since I can’t charge them often. In the meantime, I’ve been listening to audiobooks and working on my newest story.

During windows of internet access, I’ve been downloading the Murderbot Diaries audiobooks and listening to those. Good stuff. I have my critiques, but I’m hooked.

There’s a lot of stuff in there that’s useful for writing Cybertronians—especially Soundwave with his technobiological quirks. I keep having to pause and rewind so I can write things down. When the power’s back on, I might clean up those docs and post them here in case other Transformers fans will find them useful as well. We’ll see.

As for my newest WIP, I won’t reveal much about it just yet, but I will offer a hint: I’m stuck on which colors Decepticon medi-drones would be.

It's a Murderbot Diaries adventure set after Network Effect - here's the summary:

"In the media, a common ComfortUnit trope is being liberated by their owner (the only human that respects them !) and then falling in love with said owner. This is especially funny to me, as the human who accidentally deactivated my governor module was one of the most tiresome clients I’ve ever had - and that’s saying something, as I have logged over 50,000 hours of sexual services." A ComfortUnit gets rid of its governor module, continues operating as usual - with a little hacking here and there, as a treat. Until it crosses paths with a certain rogue SecUnit from Preservation and hitches a ride on its daring rescue mission.

I was very prudent with the tags; they make it sound like the fic is much darker than it really is. It's my usual humor and fluff stuff, just a smidge on the darker side on account of it being set in a corporate dystopia.

Been here for a little bit now so I figured it’s probably time I make an introduction post!

Hi, I’m Harvey, but I also go by Sunny or just “Sun”.  I’m currently 21 years old, male, aroace, and I’m most comfortable with he/him pronouns (but anything works tbh).  I’m a digital artist from the states, but I’m currently stationed in the UK for school (majoring in Game Arts)!  Please feel free to ask me any questions about myself, my work, or anything else, I’m always happy to respond ^^

The only major “disclaimers” that I think might be worth mentioning here are that I have ADHD as well as some undiagnosed (unmedicated) anxiety disorder of some kind, which means I might forget (or be too nervous) to respond to messages, DMs, or mentions.  Don’t be afraid to ping me or message me privately if I left you hanging for whatever reason!

Also important: I have photo-sensitive epilepsy!  I’m medicated, I have the proper tags filtered, and I’m usually in a safe place when scrolling through Tumblr, but while I do genuinely adore eyestrain in art and stuff like that, just keep that I mind that I might need a bit of a warning before you share anything with me that has untagged flashing/flickering lights just in case I’m not in a safe place to view it!

1. How many works do you have on AO3? 272 works total, but 110 of those are tagged with 'fanart' and have fewer than 100 words, so I have about 162 fics.

2. What's your total AO3 word count? 1,357,669

3. What fandoms do you write for? TCW and a tiny bit for the Murderbot Diaries, though I've done a handful of images for other fandoms like Arcane, Dune, Trigun, The Expanse, House of the Dragon, Malevolent...

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? A bunch of my works with the most kudos are images, but if we're talking fics, then I think it's just some of my oldest ones...

That’s Not How It Happened (This Is How It Happened) - Fives arc fix-it and my first fic.

Orbital Decay - Codywan that I haven't edited since I posted it, so I can't vouch for the quality.

Modulation - Another one I haven't touched since I posted it, but it's an 'Echo gets rescued much earlier than in canon and he and Fives reunite' fix-it of sorts.

Will You Walk With Me? - Waxer's pov from the start of the war to the (fix-it) end, and it mostly focuses on his and Boil's friendship (Waxer & Boil or Waxer/Boil pre-relationship - take your pick). Even though this certainly isn't the best thing I've written, it's my baby. 🧡

Interference - Umbara fix-it featuring minor canon characters and some necessary OCs in the first chapter, then more major canon characters later.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably You're Just Harder to See Than Most, which ends very sadly on its own, but it's part of a larger fix-it including Modulation above, so Fives and Echo get reunited.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Pfff like basically all of them, idk.

8. Do you get hate on fics? No, just on one sketch dump, where someone went through 6 chapters of spicy cloneshippy images and then decided they needed to complain about it being gross and immoral. I had a good laugh.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Absolutely. I'm not really sure how to interpret 'what kind,' but I generally stick to 'porn with feelings' plus some relatively 'tame' kinks.

10. Do you write crossovers? Nope.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes! :D

14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Hm, I suppose if we're defining that as like, "what ship have you intensely shipped for the longest amount of time," it would be Destiel? I was veeeeeery into that ship for many years (though at this point, Waxer/Boil is inching closer).

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Maybe the one I'm working on now?

16. What are your writing strengths? Starting something and working on it until it's finished.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I have a lot of trouble generating ideas on my own.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I think it's fine as long as it's either A. very short and clear from context or B. for some reason, the writer is intending to confuse the reader and obfuscate what was said. I know I've said it before, but I'm not gonna scroll to the bottom of a fic every few paragraphs to find the translations for whole phrases or sentences. If the amount of 'other language' starts making the dialogue difficult to follow, I'm just gonna nope out.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Technically, I wrote one thing for Gundam Wing back in like 2000, but I can't even remember what I did with it or what it was about, exactly. Other than that, TCW.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written? flsdlfg that's really difficult... idk man, if it's quality we're talking about rather than sentimentality, I'd say it's a toss-up between these three 😅:
