August 22nd Birthday Headcanon!

Just thoughts on how the guys( Sons and Mayans) enjoy celebrating! Just a collection of birthday related headcanons

Who is down for a surprise party? All the guys except for 1 would be down for a surprise party. Some like Kozik, Creeper and Bottles might be a bit more nervous/feel like they don't deserve it. While others like Jax, Angel and Guero are eating that shit up

Who should you not throw a surprise party for? Happy.....this man should never enter a place and people jump and yell at him.

Who is down for Birthday sex? I think this goes without saying but every single one of them would be down. Some more spicy than others.

Big Banger or Low Key? While they all enjoy a good party. I think Juice,Chibs,Kozik, Bishop, Creeper and Coco would prefer a low key celebration. Manny and Happy I can see wanting it to be just the two of you/ your immediate family.

Themed party? This is up Juices ally the most. The majority of the others would do it if it would make you happy.

Whipped or Butter Cream Frosting? Juice, Happy, Tig, Rat, Half,Coco,Bottles,Angel, Guero and Manny are butter cream all the way! Chibs,Kozik,Opie, Jax, Bishop, Creeper,EZ, and Gilly prefer Whipped icing. This is a hotly debated topic in both club houses and has left to more than one fight in the ring.

Hi! Do you have any idea of the etymology of Les Amis’ names/French words that sound like their names?

I’m not an expert on this and someone else probably knows more! But here’s all I know off the top of my head. I’ll go from “ones that have canonical book explanations” to “ones that are vague or more speculative”:

Grantaire: His name sounds like “Grand R” or “big R” in French. As a result, he doesn’t sign his name with a normal signature but with a giant letter R. This is also why it’s a popular fan headcanon for “R” to be Grantaire’s nickname.

Lesgle/Bossuet—this is a pun but I’m still not completely sure I get it. So his name is “Lesgle,” which sounds like “l’aigle” (the eagle) and he comes from Meux. Unrelated to him there’s also a famous bishop who was known as “L’aigle of Meux,” whose real name was Bossuet. So les amis made a pun and Lesgle got the nickname Bossuet as a joke about the bishop.

Jehan Prouvaire— Jehan is obsessed with Medieval literature, so he added an “H” to his name “Jean” to make it more medieval.

Feuilly— sounds like the French word for paper, a nod to his work as a fan maker

Bahorel— sounds like “Borel,” like the name of one of Hugo’s friends Petrus Borel

Courfeyrac— comes from a wealthy family, and there’s a whole thing where he should go by “de Courfeyrac” because he’s upper class— but he refuses and just goes by plain Courfeyrac. Idk much about the origin of the name but it seems to me like it’s supposed to mark him as Wealthy— I guess it’s similar to being named something like “Thaddeus Winston the Third?”

Enjolras— is apparently a very strange uncommon-before-les-mis name that would come from Southern France, and even French people disagree on how to pronounce it (?)

Joly - I know nothing about this name except that his friends like to add extra Ls to it as a joke, I think?

Combeferre— I know nothing. This name is a mystery just like the character himself

Marius Pontmercy: Marius’s name is based on Victor Hugo’s middle name, “Marie.” And “Pontmercy” is the French word for “bridge” and then the French word for “thank you.” (I’ve seen fics with an English Marius named “Marius Thankbridge.”) The Pontmercy name pun is important because it’s why Thenardier never learns who Georges is; when Georges is struggling to tell him “my name is Pontmercy” all Thenardier hears is “merci,” so he just thinks the man is just thanking him.

Ruka-pyon <3

1. Canon I outright reject? he would NEVER leave natsume not EVER. i know tsubasa had to basically drag him out of there but i hate that he left i HATE it

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on? i don't think he would ever date mikan after natsume's hypothetical death. i don't think either of them would be able to.

3. Obscure headcanon? his favorite disney movie is fox and the hound.

4. Favorite line? "Meeting you, and coming with you here to the Academy... I never even once regretted it." (chapter 146)

5. Best personality trait? his loyalty. he's very sweet and i love that, but his loyalty is what moves mountains, what fights wars, what transcends the rules of time and space.

6. Worst personality trait? i must have mentioned this at some point but he's perfect. but really i think he shouldn't feel like such a burden when he brings so much to the table.

7. Age/height/weight headcanon? i don't need a headcanon when i have character profiles! 140 cm/4'6 and 35 kg/77 lbs at his debut, 173 cm/5'8 and 66 kg/145 lbs in the last chapter. also i believe he's the youngest of the main four? he turns 11 in march, after natsume, mikan, and hotaru have all had their 11th birthdays.

8. Unpopular opinion about them? i've already said i only like his relationship with mikan platonically, so i'll say something else.

9. Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character? "bird meets tori!" where we see him using his alice with piyo. though it's been so long since i first met him that i really can't remember ever NOT loving him.

10. Best moment on screen (or in the book)? my favorite ruka moment is when he's waiting for natsume in the backseat of the car to go to the academy with him. makes me cry every single time.

12. Crack headcanon? i like thinking of him growing little flowers on his windowsill in his dorm and that he very much likes baking... again "crack" i use loosely.

13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done? this...?? maybe? i dont think he does many dumb things...

14. Most heroic moment? i just think there's so much strength in ruka's actions in the new year's arc, even if he feels like such a burden the whole time. though i also think this one is very brave.

15. Worst thing they’ve ever done? very tough to say because he's a well-meaning child! i don't like to be negative abt the kids. that being said, this might be natsume AND ruka's worst moment lol. ruka was complicit in that.

38. Favorite holiday? maybe easter? i'm not familiar with japanese holidays so i cant say for sure but the easter aesthetic suits him.

Favorite book? i have a predominantly western understanding of literature because i have a degree in english literature, so forgive me. i think he'd like romantic poets, like whitman, wordsworth, byron, and dickinson. he'd like romanticism for it's emphasis on the natural world and on emotion and justice. i think he'd like classic children's books too, like peter pan or alice in wonderland.

41. If they could have lunch with anyone in the world (living or dead, from any fictional universe or the real world), who would it be? he'd wanna eat lunch with his parents because he misses them <3

42. 3 comfort items? i had a long and nice answer for this but tumblr ate it (which pisses me off so much u have no idea) so i dont remember what i'd said. the earbud transmitters hotaru left him, but i cant remember the other two. ill reblog again if i remember.

43. 3 favorite foods and 3 they despise? i think ruka would like bread and pastries, lots of desserts. i dont have much of an inkling what he wouldn't like except that i believe he's a vegetarian so he wouldn't eat meat. i just dont understand how he could have such connection and empathy for animals, genuinely love them as friends, and have the animal pheromone alice on top of that, and eat them. i dont think he'd judge anybody for eating meat, but he wouldn't be able to himself.

46. The person they most admire? natsume, mikan, and his mom. people whose strength he admires and maybe covets.

Scariest moment of their life? poor ruka has gone through a lot of scary moments but i think he's managed to be brave each time anyway, which is very admirable. i keep saying natsume for all his answers, but i think natsume's death would be the scariest moment because he genuinely couldn't do anything to stop it. i think not only was it the moment he lost his best friend, but also a moment that made him feel like he really couldn't be of any help or support to natsume after all, that he really was a burden.

49. Favorite toy as a child? rich boy ruu-chan had a lot of toys and while i'm tempted to think he'd like stuffed animals, at the end of the day i think he'd be way more interested in playing with real animals. i think they made him feel accepted and understood and less alone.

50. A memory they’ve blocked out? i think the memories of the time between natsume dying and coming back would be a bit blurry. he wouldnt have been holding on tight to that period of time, to put it lightly.

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on? natsume LOVES chocolate and sweets. why do so many people insist on him hating sweets just because he's "cool" i dont get it???

3. Obscure headcanon? he listens to rap and rap rock. im sorry i just. cant imagine he wouldn't love rap. whatever.

Favorite line? i love when one of the kids asks him to tutor him when the whole class is in study mode, saying, "i thought if i went in with a 'do or die' attitude then maybe..." and natsume replies, "then die." (i know it's hard to see but it's at the bottom, where ruka's face is.) ALSO on a more serious note, "can you wait for me?" because it KILLS me.

5. Best personality trait? how sweet he can be!!!! no but seriously natsume acts cool but he's the most hopeless romantic of the bunch and i live by that.

6. Worst personality trait? martyr complex.

Age/height/weight headcanon? who needs headcanon when we have canon!! natsume is ten (a couple months away from eleven) when he's introduced and the second youngest (only older than ruka) in the main four (the boys being younger than the girls is so cute). he's sixteen at the epilogue and in kageki <3. he's 140 cm/4'6 and 34.5 kg/76 lbs when we meet him, and 175 cm/5'9 and 72 kg/159 lbs at the epilogue.

8. Unpopular opinion about them? i think the popular opinion is that natsume is a baby boy who deserves peace and love after a childhood of rage and agony but if you disagree, i'll throw u off a cliff myself.

Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character? im gonna be real with u. he was my fav from the start. i never ever had negative feelings towards him ever from the beginning. is that weird? idk. i dont really care. i saw him with his mask and was determined to watch the whole anime just bc he was in it.

10. Best moment on screen (or in the book)? it's really hard for me to answer this but i think my favorite natsume moment is when he finally rebels against the ESP and persona... something he'd always wanted to do but couldn't, finally given the chance through the knowledge that he'd rather be dead than allow mikan to live through the same suffering that he does.

13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done? getting mikan to play the prince. he's so fucking stupid.

Most heroic moment? he wishes it was his death scene! i think his most heroic moment was when he decided to go to the academy for his sister. i pick this scene and not any others bc when natsume risks his life later on, part of it is motivated by suicidal ideation so it's kinda hard for me to think of those moments as anything but.

15. Worst thing they’ve ever done? same answer as ruka's. yes i say this even knowing that he might have killed people during DA missions. those other ppl arent real to me; mikan is.

Quotes, songs, poems, etc. that I associate with them? again, zoe and i made a killer playlist for the main 4 ga characters. natsume's is the best though, we both agree. since, again, the playlist is still under construction, here are some tracks from it that suit him. (lots of them are triggering, particularly regarding thoughts of suicide, just as a warning.)

18. What they’d go to see a therapist about? everything? trauma, self-image, martyr complex, suicidal ideation, dealing with terminal illness... there's a lot.

19. Vices/bad habits? he has a lot! the worst is his overuse of his alice.

20. Scars? i'm sure he has some. DA missions are not safe and although natsume is canonically immune to his own fire, he's not immune to flying shrapnel and rubble. i like the anime showing us some glimpses into what his missions might look like. we even got to see him get shot, an injury he (presumably) patched up himself instead of going to the hospital for, which is VERY in character. the anime NAILED that episode (chef's kiss, best episode ever, hands down).

21. Drink of choice (not just alcoholic)? cherry dr pepper (this is just a ridiculous joke zoe and i made that is now serious. what a sickening beverage)

22. Best physical feature? his eyes! so pretty. i also love his silky hair. he is SO pretty and has sUCH pretty eyelashes. most beautiful boy ever.

49. Favorite toy as a child? i think he'd probably be a big fan of matchbox cars? or maybe im saying that bc i liked matchbox cars. (and also cuz theyre called matchbox cars). he seems to like basketball too!

A memory they’ve blocked out? natsume is a big ball of trauma so i wouldnt be surprised if there was plenty. i think he's kind of forced to compartmentalize a lot, since his experiences in the DA class are so gruesome and different from his school life, so he'd be forced to pretend like he didn't just go on a terrifying mission last night, which leads to unprocessed trauma and maybe even blurred memories.

1. Canon I outright reject? if higuchi tachibana doubting that "natsume won" is canon, then i reject it. mikan MADE A CHOICE. in your manga, higuchi!!!! she even says, "these feelings i have only for you", which means the only person she loves romantically is natsume. higuchi YOU WROTE THIS.

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on? ^^^ that one. also she's not a masochist.

3. Obscure headcanon? even though natsume can have a potentially atrocious taste in fashion, i think mikan would find his fits cute nonetheless, maybe just bc it's him!

4. Favorite line? I love when she tells natsume to join her team before the sports fest. she NEVER asks for anything from natsume or tells him how she feels but she takes a risk this once and it's wonderful until he rejects her and she takes a long while to recover from that moment where she finally put herself out there only to get turned down.

5. Best personality trait? perseverance, in regards to difficult times and difficult people.

Age/height/weight headcanon? we have canon!! she is (unbeknownst to her) eleven years old when she first comes to the academy and is turning seventeen when we see her again in the last chapters. she's 138 cm/4'6 and 33 kg/73 lbs at her debut and 158 cm/5'2 and 47 kg/104 lbs at the last chapters.

8. Unpopular opinion about them? it's okay that she's stupid! i dislike when mikan is made so much smarter, or when they significantly alter her personality, in fics. i think she's pretty great the way she is!

9. Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character? HARD TO SAY. regrettably i wasn't always a huge fan of mikan, especially in the anime, bc i thought she was annoying. but i think when i matured just a little, it was hard to keep it up. i think i fully loved her on the second rewatch/reread. i couldnt tell u the specific scene bc it was too long ago.

10. Best moment on screen (or in the book)? i reread just this little moment so often. i'm not saying it's a healthy moment, hiding her feelings until she's alone, but it's so her and it's so heart-crushing and tragic. i love it.

13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done? she's frequently stupid, but i really enjoy this moment, just bc of how naive she is, both to natsume's situation and to her own feelings. (mikan, girl, you're in love with him.)

14. Most heroic moment? is there anything more heroic than this?

Worst thing they’ve ever done? mikan rarely does things out of ill-will. i could say one of her well-intentioned blunders, but that feels cheap. i'll say this, then, when mikan tells natsume that him worrying about her is a bother. i'll talk about it during my essay, but mikan says that, against her urges to keep him with her, because she remembers the pain of him choosing luna over her and she, in that moment, reacts in a kneejerk way to make him hurt a little too. it's the only moment i can think of where she hurts somebody without at least meaning well. (and YES i know that this is right after luna told her to keep their encounter a secret, but mikan chooses to be cold to natsume in a way that she isnt towards hotaru or her other friends for asking similar questions.)

16. Deepest darkest secret they won’t even admit to themselves? mikan never admits anything to herself! that she loves natsume sticks out the most though.

17. Quotes, songs, poems, etc. that I associate with them? AGAIN, zoe and i made playlists for the main 4 but they're unsuitable for consumption right now, so here are some mikan flavored tracks!

33. Something guaranteed to make them cry? mikan is sensitive! thus she cries a lot! she cries when people around her are hurt, she cries when she doesn't get what she wants, or when things get hard. i think it's sweet.

35. Their idea of a perfect day? spending time with her class b pals with some light antics and shenanigans, or hanging out with her senpais in the special ability class would make her happy. later, going on dates with natsume, too. <3

36. Their favorite season? summer, but the lovely thing is how happy and awestruck mikan seems to be by every passing season. she loves them all! it's very sweet, how much love she has for life.

What they really think about themselves? despite her tendency to see the beauty or value in everything, she doesn't see much in herself. she thinks of herself as ordinary, boring, useless. she knows that people love her smile but she thinks that's all she has to offer so she hides her negative feelings away. ;-;

44. Their happiest memory? i think her school memories with her friends, particularly lighthearted moments, would stick out as happiest. the culture fest or the dodgeball game or swimming class.

46. The person they most admire? hotaru, natsume, ruka, etc. she admires lots of people. she has a tendency to see the good parts of people and to focus on them until that's the main thing she sees.

47. Their dream job? i like to see mikan in people-oriented, caring-based roles, like as a nurse or a teacher, where there's emphasis on helping people. i think she'd really thrive in a career like that. i especially like imagining her as a teacher. (her husband can share some pretty decent benefits from such a career afaik)

48. Scariest moment of their life? probably the whole night of the escape arc. no part of that was easy. the entire night was stressful and scary

49. Favorite toy as a child? she makes her own mikan dolls! mikan is awful at homemade things, like cooking or sewing, but she loves it anyway! i think she liked making her own toys and seeing the beauty in her ugly little creations.

50. A memory they’ve blocked out? i think mikan would try and remember the hard moments so that she can get stronger, just based on the way she talks about such moments, like after pengy dies.

Ahhhh ty @avastrasposts for the tag this is so cute 🥰

1) Winston Bishop (New Girl). His character arc as he finds his calling and embraces his eccentricity is so nice to watch. He's kind, caring, creative, a total goofy unhinged weirdo, and one of the most amazing friends that I've seen in fiction.

2) 10th Doctor (Doctor Who) - While I'm in the fringe group that actually likes the 9th Doctor a whole lot, 10 really sealed the deal for me. His seasons are so bursting at the seams with a constant faith in humanity and our ability to choose to act in love rather than fear. I feel the doctor had his most uplifting moments as 10, pulling courage, bravery, kindness, understanding, and empathy from those who feared they lacked it. I could write a novel about the 10th Doctor don't tempt me.

3) April Ludgate (Parks and Recreation). We would legitimately be best friends, two spooky cat girls and our golden retriever husbands 😂 She's sarcastic, macabre, committed to the bit every time, and also one of the kindest and most thoughtful characters underneath it.

4) Frankie Morales (Triple Frontier). I would marry this man yesterday. We get next to nothing from the movie, but the man that we seem to have collectively agreed on the same base headcanons for is amazing. Kind, doting, generous, affectionate, committed, competent, humble. Love ya, Frankie.

5) Hello Kitty. For me, she's an absolute icon. Initially I was drawn to the aesthetic but I think she was my version of Barbie. She's a little girl from England that wears a kitty costume who becomes anything through imagination and play - doctor, astronaut, dancer, you name it. It feels more personal and whimsical. She isn't actually a doctor or dancer like Barbie, but a kid who believes she can be anything in the world, trying on different dreams day to day. She reminds me that you don't have to do it all or be everything to everyone, but you have the potential to be anything you choose.

Your writing is so good! Could you do a sons/mayans headcannon of how they deal with your death?

Wow we both woke up and chose violence today, huh?

I’ve been working on these for the past couple of days and I am not too proud to admit that I have made myself really fuckin’ sad in the process lmao.

Ask and you shall receive! Very Angsty hcs under the cut.

Disclaimer: not everyone that I usually include in hc’s is in this one. Anyone that got left out wasn’t forgotten, but I just wasn’t getting hit with inspo for them for this and I wasn’t going to force it. Esepcially with such a heavy/emotional prompt.

Obviously, the circumstances of the death will impact the way they react to it. So, for the sake of this hc, let's just say the death happened because of club business/retaliation in some capacity.

Jax:

We've seen how ruthless Jax becomes when he loses someone that he loves

Once the initial shock and sadness of it wear off, he goes into complete shut-down and vengeance mode. Any trace of the Jax everyone had once known when he was with you? Gone.

He runs the gamut between unbridled rage and utter vacancy, occasionally allowing the sadness to seep through, but not often, not while there’s still work to do.

Anything to keep his mind off the gaping hole in his chest where you used to be.

Never takes off his wedding band.

He knows that it should be the last kick that he needs to get himself out of the life, but it only drives him deeper into it, feeling like he has nothing else left to live for besides the club.

Saying that he’s living might be a bit of an exaggeration. He does just enough to keep himself alive, but barely.

Goes and sits at your headstone to write--it feels more comfortable than saying the words out loud.

But he does always whisper a quiet apology each time he gets up to leave.

Opie

Shuts down as much as he is able to.

The only time anyone sees any kind of real emotion from him is when he’s angry, or upset. Joy officially becomes a thing of the past.

He becomes a ship without a captain, not quite knowing what the point of anything is anymore.

Goes through the motions and does what’s asked of him, but everyone around can tell that he’s only doing it because he doesn’t know what else to do.

Mild to moderate self-destructive streak after your death, but just like with everything else, he doesn’t put a hell of a lot into that either. It looks more like him not taking any protective measures anymore.

He thinks about what you would’ve wanted for him, and knows that this isn’t it, but then he remembers that you aren’t there anyway so what does it matter?

Will not sleep on your side of the bed, or clear out your dresser and side of the closet. As much as it hurts to look at your things, he knows it would hurt more getting rid of them.

Can’t handle wearing his wedding band anymore, but he doesn’t get rid of it either. It sits perfectly safe on your dresser alongside your other jewelry.

Slows down when he rides past the cemetery, but very rarely goes it. Looking at your headstone makes it feel too real.

Juice

An absolute wreck for the foreseeable future.

He can shut down and tune out a lot, he’s had a whole lifetime of building up those skills, but nothing prepared him for losing you.

Cannot hold it together, and no one knows how to help him through that.

You were supposed to be the one who would be there even if everyone else left, but then you were gone. And now it doesn’t matter how many other people are there, he still feels alone.

Sees you everywhere, in everything.

The mere thought of moving on, of even moving or packing up your things makes his skin crawl.

You were the first thing in his life that made him give a shit about his future, but then you were gone, and the rest of his life seems like an impossibly long time to live without you.

He’s tried to meet you, but it never quite works, something always goes awry.

Sometimes he thinks it’s you trying to tell him it’s not time yet, but mostly he just chalks it up to being another thing that he can’t get right.

People say that it’s not his fault, that the weight of the guilt of you being gone will lessen with time, but it doesn’t. Not for him.

Chibs

Doesn’t get out of bed for days.

Manages to keep it together by a thread during the services while everyone else is around. But the second that everyone else leaves, and it’s just him in the middle of an empty cemetery, he completely breaks down. Not even able to stay on his feet.

People try to get him to talk about it, but he refuses. The closest he gets to talking about it is when he’s bottle-deep alone at home, rambling to you not really about you.

He hopes you can hear what he’s saying while also hoping you can’t see what he’s become since you’ve been gone.

He knew that you were the love of his life from the moment he met you, and trying to accept that you’re really gone is an impossible ask.

The days all start to blur together, and if someone was to ask him what he’d been doing to fill the hours, he wouldn’t be able to give a clear answer. Somehow, though, he managed to keep getting out of bed despite wanting to to nothing of the sort.

It’s the most he’s talked to god in a long time, not that anyone ever talks back.

Tig

Kicks himself for thinking that he wouldn’t lose you the same way that he’s lost everyone else in his life.

Whether it was directly his fault or not, he always ended up losing the people he loved. It shouldn’t have been a surprise to him, but it was. A surprising, cripplingly cruel reminder that he was going to end up alone at the end of it all.

He tries to shut it out. Most times he’s successful, throwing himself into the club like that would ever make up for the damage done.

He doesn’t talk about it, doesn’t let himself get emotional about it around the rest of the club. They mistake it for him not caring, for him moving on so quickly with his life.

But the reality of it is that he’s just suppressing it all. Pushing it farther and farther down each day so it has less of a chance of ruining him all over again.

If they thought that he was ruthless and cold and unhinged before, they weren’t ready for what was about to come.

Happy

He makes sure the entire world pays for what happened to you.

There isn’t enough space on his body for the amount of smiley faces he’d need to add as he goes on a vengeance rampage.

If anyone thinks it’s a bad idea, no one is brave enough to say so. They don’t want to be next.

He doesn’t ever really go home after that. He’s either on the road or staying at the clubhouse. He tries to lie to himself and chalk it up to him being singularly focused on revenge and the club. But deep down he knows he just can’t go back to where you used to live with him.

Home isn’t home if you aren’t there, so what’s the point?

You had been one of the first people he had ever allowed himself to be vulnerable around, and once you were gone, he knew that you were also the last.

He doesn’t talk about you much, not really ever sure if he’s able to handle it. But the few times he does, he never uses the past tense.

Kozik

He never thought that something was going to hit so close to home until it took the thing closest to him.

It was something that seemed like it would only ever happen to other people, until it happened to him.

The shock of it all was broken up only by the waves of sadness that followed.

He never thought about what his life would look like without you in it, and now he had no choice but to face the reality of it.

Denial was his best and closest friend.

He didn’t talk about you often, solely because he didn’t want to face what had happened. The times when he did, though, it was always soft, with a lot of reverence, and always in the present tense, like you were going to come crashing through the door at any moment.

EZ

There has never been a time in his life that EZ didn’t compartmentalize. And this was no different.

That didn’t mean that he was actually dealing with it though. He just tried to lock it up in a box and tuck it in the back of his mind.

But there’s never any forgetting for him, no reprieve from the memories, and there is no lock in the world that was strong enough to keep those thoughts and feelings at bay for too long.

He always thought of you as the one thing that kept him from completely slipping over into the darkness in his mind. And now you were gone, and he didn’t see the point in trying to pretend that he was anything but the worst parts of himself.

Like father, like son, he keeps some mementos on the mantle. Things to try and bridge the gap between where he is, and where you are. Some days he thinks they help, some days he thinks he’s beyond helping.

He contemplates putting his ring on the chain around his neck that he never takes off, but decides against it, leaving it on his finger. He never takes that off either.

Angel

Quickly picks up any and every self destructive habit that he can.

Anything to keep him from thinking about you being gone, from feeling the emptiness that’s left behind.

He tries to push the feelings down and avoid them, but he’s never been good at that. The pendulum swings back and forth between anger and sadness, with not a whole lot of room left for anything else.

Every had thought and feeling that he’s ever had about himself only gets confirmed in his head once you’re gone. After all, if they weren’t true, why would the universe have taken you away from him?

Wallowing in self-hatred is easy, he’s done it his whole life. It’s the safer, easier option compared to letting himself actually grieve for you.

He wants to feel closer to you, but he knows that he can’t handle it. He thinks about the way his father refuses to move the urn from the kitchen and now he really doesn’t understand how that man handles it every day, a constant reminder every time he gets a damn cup of coffee

Bishop

He’s lost a lot in his life, thought that he was prepared for what it would feel like to lose just about anything. But not you. Nothing in the universe could’ve prepared him for what it felt like to lose you.

He didn’t know if he was drinking to blot out the memories of you, or to drive himself to a slow death. Regardless, he wasn’t successful in either endeavor, but not for lack of trying.

The hardness that had protected him and served him so well for so many years fortified and became razor sharp. He wasn’t ever going to love anyone again, not really.

Rage becomes his compass instead of his logic, which is dangerous for anyone, but especially a man in his position. He didn’t care, though. You were already gone so what did it matter now?

Sleeps exclusively on the couch at home. The only time he goes into what used to be your shared room is to get clothes for the day, and he never lingers.

Despite avoiding your things, he thinks of you constantly. It’s debilitating. He wants to hate it, but he’s afraid that if he stops, he’s going to forget what you sounded like.

Keeps his wedding band on a chain around his neck, tucked safely beneath the collar of his shirt.

Visits your headstone often, making sure it’s clean and with fresh flowers. But he doesn’t linger, not wanting to give himself a chance to feel too much.

Creeper

Every emotion that went through him, he felt it completely, coursing through every vein of his body.

Anger, sadness, emptiness, rage, each one became him.

His love and loyalty to you wouldn’t let him rest until he felt like some kind of justice had been served.

But what would ever be considered justice for what was done to you? It felt like he was on a journey without an end. And, for you, he was willing to resign himself to it for the rest of his life.

There was no one in the world that he loved more than you, and there never would be.

He wasn’t afraid to feel what he was feeling in front of everyone else. Anger was easy. They were all good at anger. But even his sadness, his loneliness, he wore that on his sleeve as well.

The void left behind by you being gone wasn’t ever going to be filled. And he didn’t bother trying. But he kept your things.

He didn’t know how much he bought into the afterlife, or reincarnation, or any of the bullshit he’d heard the guys talk about in vain attempts to comfort him. But what he did know was that it felt better to keep his wedding ring on. It felt better to leave your boots next to the door where you’d life them, your half-empty journals still in your bedside table. Nothing felt good, but some things felt better.

Coco

Retaliation is the only thing on his mind at first. That’s just how he’s wired.

Once the score is settled, though, that’s when he really starts to unravel.

On the other side of his rage, there’s nothing but hurt and guilt, and sadness, and those are the things that he doesn’t know how to handle. He doesn’t know where to put all those feelings.

The downward spiral starts quickly, and seems never-ending.

He’d given up on the world long before he met you, assuming that it was just in his DNA to never find real happiness. He just resigned himself to being too far gone to truly love and be loved by someone. But then you came crashing into his life and buried all those fears and thoughts.

And then you were taken from him too. Leaving him knowing that happiness, love, it was all real and he had it. But it was taken from him.

No amount of philosophizing can bring him any comfort or reasoning or justification for what happened to you. The Church of Coco’s doors officially get locked shut.

Taza

He always considered himself to be someone who had a decent grip on and relationship with death. Not in a morbid way, but a realistic one.

Losing you threw all of that out the window, though.

It was impossible to sleep, he was always on edge, just barely on this side of doing enough to stay alive.

He knew that you would’ve hated the path he put himself on, but he didn’t have it in himself to stop. Any thought about trying to heal and move through his grief, only made him dig his heels in harder.

Logically, he knew that one day he was going to wake up and it wasn’t going to be as suffocating. He’d experienced enough loss to know that he wouldn’t feel like he was on the brink of a total mental break forever. But it was hard to see that when he was in the depths of such a loss.

He tried to remind himself of everything that he’d ever been taught, ever said to anyone else, but it all felt futile. 

It was the only time that he didn’t ever want to feel better, he didn’t want to feel farther away from what had happened.

Riz

Being angry was easier than being sad, so that’s the emotion that he clung to the most.

He hated himself, but he hated the club more. Another thing that was easier, placing as much of the blame as possible on something besides himself.

But deep down underneath it all, he felt like he was solely at fault for the entire thing, and he didn’t know if it was something he would ever come back from.

He’s always had a mean bitter streak, something that you’d managed to mellow out of him over the years, but now it was back with a vengeance.

Anyone who tried to stop him from doing anything was met with the full force of all his pent-up rage.

The humor and the whimsy that he once had, the one-liners that he was able to conjure up to ease the tension in any situation, all of that was gone. Snubbed out like the end of a spent cigarette.

It was only in the small hours of the morning, when he was home alone in the darkness of the room you used to share with him, too drunk for his own good, that he let himself feel the sadness that was ripping him apart at the seams.

Nestor

His anger was always dangerous, but no other situation in the past compared to this one.

It was dangerous for him to feel what he was feeling, to think the thoughts that he was having, and also have the means to do something about them.

Consequences be damned, he was going to do whatever it took to get some semblance of even.

It didn’t matter who tried to talk some sense into him about it, he wasn’t going to listen.

It wasn’t until he was completely alone, washing the blood from his hands and face, tending to wounds and wishing that you were there to nurse him through it, that the anger gave way to the real emotion underneath--sadness.

You were his one shred of hope for having a normal life, or rather, a happy life, since there was no normal in his world. But now you were gone.

He was all business from there on out, but with a new reckless abandon that he hadn’t had before, knowing that you weren’t there to come home to so it wouldn’t matter if he didn’t make it.

Of course they think you’re beautiful no matter what and they would never ridicule you or poke fun at you, but they don’t take your apprehension personally. They know that body image can be sensitive for plenty of people especially women and they would never want to make you uncomfortable. They simply remind you that you can trust them and whenever you’re comfortable with removing your shirt, they’ll be happy with the view.

Jax, Chibs, Opie, Nestor - They feel like it’s you’re right to cover up and they don’t mention it unless you do. They don’t know what your reason is and they don’t want to force it from you. They’ll let you come out with it when you feel comfortable.
