A Garden Packed with Potency
The Medicinal Garden Kit isn't just a random assortment of seeds. The curators have thoughtfully selected a variety of herbs renowned for their medicinal properties. We're talking about powerhouses like Echinacea, known for its immune-boosting potential, and Chamomile, revered for its calming and sleep-promoting qualities. These aren't just culinary herbs; they're natural remedies waiting to be nurtured. The kit also included everything I needed to get started – high-quality seeds, organic potting soil, and clear instructions – making it perfect for gardening novices like myself.
From Seed to Sprout: The Joy of Cultivation
There's something incredibly rewarding about watching tiny seeds transform into thriving plants. The Medicinal Garden Kit made the process incredibly easy. The clear instructions guided me through every step, from planting to watering. Seeing my little herb garden flourish on my windowsill brought me immense satisfaction. It wasn't just about the end product; it was the entire journey of cultivation and care.
Nature's Bounty at My Fingertips
Within a few weeks, I had a thriving windowsill herb garden. The best part? I could now harvest fresh herbs whenever I needed them. Feeling a tickle in my throat? I brewed a cup of Echinacea tea. Trouble winding down after a long day? A soothing cup of Chamomile chamomile did the trick. Having this natural pharmacy readily available was incredibly empowering.
A Sustainable and Educational Experience
The Medicinal Garden Kit isn't just about convenience; it's also a sustainable and educational experience. The kit allows you to grow your own medicine, reducing reliance on store-bought remedies. Plus, it provides a fun and interactive way to learn about the power of plants and natural healing. I found myself researching the various herbs in my garden, deepening my understanding of their medicinal properties.

Kids sowed some cress seeds in empty egg shells, the cress happily grew on the windowsill and is now ready. May and Rose couldn't wait to snip it onto their tea. #cress #organiccress #veg #windowsillgarden #salad #vegetables #windowsillgardening #windowsillplants https://www.instagram.com/littlewhitefeathers1971/p/BuojrJYlGmg/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=17z01vh857ghw

Signs of Hope. Peashoots: it’s probably too early to start peas and broadbeans for planting outside. I’ve been a bit impatient for my winter lettuce - lambs lettuce to come up. When it’s all grown big enough it will be in abundance but we need more light first. So I’ve sow some peas and broadbeans for shoots to eat as salad. You can do this with dried peas or even dried chickpeas would be exciting to try. As you can see mine are growing in old yoghurt pots! So the yacon: I bought this in December and left it in the green house. I did not anticipate how cold it would get and when it looked pretty dead, I brought it into the house in the hope there was still life under the soil. Kept it warm and slightly moist and 2 weeks later we have a new shoot. So pleased! This will be taking residence in the allotment this year. #peashootssalad #gardeningwithkids #peashoots #signsofhope #yacon #windowsillgardening https://www.instagram.com/p/CKEDr2Fg4u2/?igshid=1wn8ipn2w2zit

The Japanese 72 microseasons say that this December 11th is the day "kuma ana ni komoru" (熊蟄穴) the period when bears begin to hole up in their caves to hibernate. In 2020 many bears appeared in the villages and it seems that the reason is that there wasn’t enough food in the mountains so they came to the villages to forage. One of the seasonal vegetables is cabbage and is one of the vegetables Japanese call “reborn vegetables”(リボベジ). It is fun just watching what you used to think of as kitchen scrap, regenerate itself and bring you more food! Usually you would throw away the hard core base of a cabbage, but if you place it in water at a sunny windowsill, it will start to grow tender leaves which you can throw in your salad or miso soup. Later you can plant it in soil for better growth. It may not work the first time (change the water frequently and try to adjust the amount of water) but since you were planning to throw it away, you have nothing to lose! #cabbage #frugallifestyle #windowsillgarden https://www.instagram.com/p/CIp14ZCnUIm/?igshid=eu5sanc2fqt9

Hello lovelies! As promised, the plants I got my mum. Yes they need to be repoted, but that's half the fun. And energy consumption. She also got a 5-year Q&A journal for moms. She seems to like them. I feel a bit bad, though. I didn't get to spend the day with her and then a neighbor woke us up to complain that our dinner, cooked all day and eaten hours ago, smelled gross. Hopefully her birthday goes better. Night lovelies. #mamachat #plants #mothersdaygift #succulents #herbs #windowsillgarden (at Bangor, Maine) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAD-scgBF25/?igshid=1tgewyr1q2uvk
