Today’s theme is “people of color make everything better”, because Demi saw Joy Ride and we all watched Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire! The latter has given Dallas a new show to fight for on social media, as animated anthologies are his brand. And speaking of his brand, a new Insidious is out! Why does Dallas keep comparing Insidious: The Red Door to Toy Story 3? Did Demi enjoy her joy ride into raunchy comedy? And what do we have to do to keep Disney+ from erasing Kizazi Moto from existence? Step further in with us, as we discuss all this and more!
You can also find us on Spotify and Apple Podcasts!

3 for the asks manatito
thank you chiquito! choosing a top 5 is near impossible but i have done my best and cut some darlings (and some of these i chose specifically for you!). in no particular order, 5 books I loved this year:
The Spear Cuts Through Water, Simon Jimenez: a sweeping fantasy story told from a fascinating form of perspective and featuring fast-moving action, slow moments of journeying, details and plot twists that seized my heart, and so much gay longing. so much gay longing.
Nothing to See Here, Kevin Wilson: my caregiver-heart was so captured by these sweet, funny, weird, powerful kids. how do you get kids what they deserve when the adults around them fucking suck?
The Wrong End of the Telescope, Rabih Alameddine: a quiet, introspective story about a trans doctor who travels to Lesbos to help with the refugees piling onto the shore. I absolutely loved the narrator and hearing about her various relationships, familial or otherwise.
Stay True, Hua Hsu: a heartbreaking poignant textured memoir about losing a friend in the height of the whirlwind that is undergrad, set in Berkeley in the 90s.
The Locked Tomb Series, Tamsyn Muir: this series is incredibly hyped on the internet and i'd seen so much about it and now i can confidently say it is UNDER-HYPED. so complicated, so unhinged, so detailed, so blows-your-mind. holy fuck. not for the faint of heart but so beyond worth it.
Ask me about my year of books!
