Will : Just calm down, it could've been worse, right?
Nico : No, it couldn't have. WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS SO OPTIMISTIC?! The world. isn't all sunshine and rainbows, Will!
Will : You want me to be negative?
Will : Fine! I'm sick and tired of you yelling at me all the time! I just want to help you! I just want you to be happy and safe but whenever you get upset you just direct it all at me! UGH.
Nico : *stares wide eyed at Will*
Will : *gasps* I'm sorry, that was so mean
Nico : *continues to stare*
Nico : Are you kidding? That was AWESOME!!!!

A sunny Nico
Nico di Angelo looked at himself in the mirror. He had the usual gloomy look. Black hair, a tense expression, pursed lips. He grimaced.
There were days when he wanted to be someone else. The opposite of what he was. A sunny Nico, with a smile that lit up everything.
Unfortunately that Nico didn't exist. It was a dream. An ideal. A lie.
-Mmm, lost in some dark thought?- Will put a hand on his arm. It seemed like he always knew what to say.
-Do you ever think you'd like to see me more sunny?
Will was his opposite. Beautiful, shiny, blond. -And why would I think such a thing?
-Because… - you are sunny and perfect, I am… shadow.
-You are the best person in this world, I like you the way you are
-Me?- was it a lie? A way to make him feel loved?
He sighed..
-And I only want you
-Only me?
-I don't want another Nico, I want you- Will took his hands and turned him around.
Nico knew that there were no more beautiful eyes in the world than his. Will was everything that he, Nico, son of Hades, motherless, overwhelmed by the mourning of his sister, could never be.
Maybe that was why he was attracted to him.
A moth flying towards the fire. Maybe he would burn his wings… but he would be happy. The best things were perhaps the most dangerous.

Will&Nico
PART ONE: DINNER WITH THE JACKSONS
Summary: Nico di Angelo and Will Solace are living an idyllic suburban life in the town of Westview, New Jersey. As their surroundings begin to move through different decades and they encounter various television tropes, the couple suspects that things are not as they seem.
Tumblr media
Oh, A newlywed couple just moved to town
A regular husband and husband
Who left the big city to find a quiet life
Will&Nico!
He’s the prince of darkness in a small-town locale
He’s a hubby with a warmth that can stun
How will this duo fit in and fulfill all?
By sharing a love like you’ve never seen
Will&Nico!
The sun cast a golden glow over the flawless suburban neighborhood, where white picket fences framed rows of cheerful homes.
Will Solace whistled a bright, off-key tune as he flipped pancakes on the stove. He wore a checkered apron over his crisp white shirt. The smell of warm batter and syrup filled the air.
Behind him, Nico di Angelo sat at the kitchen table, his dark eyes glued to the calendar on the wall. A red circle marked today’s date, bold and insistent. His brows knit together in thought, and his pale fingers absently drummed against the polished wood of the table.
“Darling, if you keep staring at that calendar any harder, you might just set it on fire,” Will teased, his sunny tone filled with exaggerated warmth. He flipped a pancake into the air with unnecessary flair, catching it perfectly in the pan. “Breakfast won’t set itself, you know.”
Nico barely looked up. “I’m thinking,” he muttered, his voice low and distant.
“About how lucky you are to have a husband who can cook like this?” Will quipped, sliding a stack of golden pancakes onto a plate. He placed it in front of Nico with a flourish, as though presenting a gourmet masterpiece.
Nico huffed a quiet laugh but didn’t take his eyes off the calendar. “What’s so special?”
“Special?” Will echoed, raising an eyebrow. He grabbed a cup of coffee and sat across from Nico, his smile tinged with mischief.
Nico’s his expression remained cool. “Nothing,” he said, forcing a casual tone.
Will leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand. “Hmm, why the brooding darling? You look like you’re plotting a murder.”
“Maybe I am,” Nico said flatly, but the corner of his mouth twitched upward.
Will laughed, the sound bright and infectious. “Well, I hope it’s not me you’re plotting against. Percy’s called another big meeting, and you know how he gets when someone doesn't show up.” He stood, adjusting his tie with exaggerated precision. “Percy Jackson and deadlines are a match made in chaos.”
“Work,” Nico repeated, watching Will grab his briefcase. “Sure. Have fun.”
Will leaned down to plant a quick kiss on Nico’s temple. “Try not to miss me too much, love. See you tonight!”
And with that, he was gone, leaving Nico alone with his thoughts and the mocking red circle on the calendar.
As the hours dragged on, Nico’s unease grew. The date gnawed at him, refusing to let go. He paced the living room, his black shirt and slacks blending into the shadows. What was it? Had he truly forgotten something important? An anniversary? A birthday?
He stopped in front of the calendar, staring at the marked date as though it might whisper its secrets. “He’s going to kill me if I messed this up,” Nico muttered. His mind raced, and then, like a switch flipping, he understood. Their anniversary! If it wasn't either of their birthdays, it's got to be their anniversary. And he was going to make it unforgettable.
By the time Will returned home, the house was transformed. The curtains were drawn, and soft candlelight bathed the room in a golden glow. The record player spun a sultry jazz tune, and a bottle of wine sat open on the coffee table. Nico stood near the door, his dark eyes catching the flicker of the flames. His usual brooding demeanor was replaced by an air of deliberate mystery, his black shirt unbuttoned just enough to suggest he’d been waiting for this moment all day.
Will stepped inside, his hand on the doorknob as he surveyed the scene. “Well, this is... unexpected,” he said, his lips curling into a crooked smile.
Nico smirked, leaning casually against the wall. “Welcome home, sunshine,” he said, his voice low and smooth. “I thought we could make tonight special.”
Before Will could respond, the sound of a car door slamming outside made them both turn. Nico’s eyes widened as two figures approached the house. Percy and Annabeth Jackson walked towards them, looking far less glamorous than the romantic evening Nico had planned.
“Oh,” Nico said flatly, his voice dripping with disappointment. “We’re... having company.”
Will’s screwed up in confusion. “Percy and Annabeth are joining us for dinner. Did you not remember, love?”
Nico blinked, his frustration barely contained. “Right. You invited them over for.... dinner.”
“Sure did,” Will said cheerfully.
Nico’s jaw tightened, but he forced a smile as the Jacksons approached. “Of course,” he said through gritted teeth. “Make yourselves at home.”
Dinner was an exercise in barely restrained chaos. Percy’s boisterous energy filled the room as he recounted office antics, while Annabeth corrected him with the precision of someone who had heard these stories too many times before.
“And then the copier started smoking,” Percy said, gesturing wildly with his fork. “Turns out someone jammed it with, get this, a peanut butter sandwich!”
“It was a granola bar,” Annabeth said, her voice calm but firm. “And it wasn’t smoking. It was overheating because someone ignored the error messages.”
Will laughed, his eyes crinkling with genuine delight. Nico, on the other hand, sipped his wine in silence, his mind spinning with annoyance and confusion.
Suddenly, the air grew heavy, and the room fell unnaturally silent. Percy and Annabeth froze mid-laugh, their expressions blank and unmoving. The candles flickered wildly, and the record player distorted into a haunting, warped melody.
Nico’s hand gripped the edge of the table. “Will,” he said, his voice low and urgent. “Do you see that?”
Will frowned, looking around. “See what?”
Before Nico could respond, the strange distortion stopped. Percy and Annabeth resumed their conversation as if nothing had happened, their laughter and words picking up mid-sentence.
Nico’s heart pounded. His dark eyes darted between the guests, searching for any sign that they, too, had noticed something amiss. But the moment passed as quickly as it had come, leaving him alone with his unease.
After Percy and Annabeth left, the house was quiet once more. Nico stood in the kitchen, staring at the flickering candlelight. His mind replayed the strange events of the evening, each detail more unsettling than the last.
Will approached him from behind, wrapping his arms around Nico’s waist. “Hey,” he said softly. “You’ve been quiet tonight. What’s on your mind?”
Nico hesitated, his heart racing. “Nothing,” he lied. “Just tired.”
Will pressed a kiss to the back of his neck. “Well, whatever it is, we’ll figure it out.”
Nico closed his eyes, leaning into Will’s embrace. “Yeah,” he said quietly. “We'll figure it out.”
But deep down, he knew that something was very, very wrong.

Will : *sitting and listening to the rain* I like the rain, it's peaceful.
Nico : It'll help clean up a murder.
Reyna : You wouldn't need the rain to clean up after you if you used an icicle as the murder weapon.
Piper : What is wrong with the both of you?

Silena was sitting on the grass. Her heart was pounding in her chest. She had never thought that Luke would invite her on a picnic.
She had spent hours fixing her hair. She had bleached it. She had made it curly. Then she had darkened it and opted for straight hair.
-Are you having fun?
Silena smiled. For the occasion she had chosen a pair of dark green eyes. Changing one's appearance was one of Aphrodite's powers that she preferred. -A lot
Luke smiled. -I need your help, Sile
When he called her that she felt her cheeks burning.
-Do you need help with French? Or with horse riding?- they were two of the things Silena was good at. She often helped people. She enjoyed doing it.
-I can't tell you anything else for today, but I need you to tell me to be available... it's a delicate and very important thing
Important. He considered her suitable for something important. -Okay, but you're not in trouble, right?
A sparkle in Luke's eyes. Silena would later think she should have known something was wrong. But at that moment she had done nothing but bask in Luke's gaze.

Will&Nico
PART TWO: BETTER NEXT TIME
Summary: Nico di Angelo and Will Solace are living an idyllic suburban life in the town of Westview, New Jersey. As their surroundings begin to move through different decades and they encounter various television tropes, the couple suspects that things are not as they seem.
Tumblr media
Will&Nico! Will&Nico! Will&Nico W-will&Nico
Will&Nico W-will&Nico
Will&Nico W-will&Nico Will&Nico!
In their yard, a makeshift stage had been set up. A rickety wooden platform draped with red velvet curtains served as the focal point, barely staying upright beneath the weight of Will and Nico’s ambitious vision.
Nico stood near the stage, adjusting the frayed cuffs of his bell-bottom jeans and smoothing his striped blazer. His dark hair was slicked back. His sharp black eyeliner emphasized his already intense gaze.
Will, on the other hand, wore a perfectly tailored suit—wide lapels, a thin tie, and patent leather shoes that gleamed under the dim lights. He adjusted his bowtie with the same meticulousness that defined his usual, composed demeanor.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Will’s voice rang out, filled with a practiced, announcer-like charm. He spread his arms as if addressing a sold-out auditorium. “Welcome, welcome, one and all! Prepare yourselves for a night of magic, mystery, and marvels beyond your wildest dreams!”
Nico sighed, muttering under his breath. “This better work.”
Will turned and shot him a dazzling smile, oblivious to Nico’s growing exasperation. Will had accidentally downed three glasses of Nico's whiskey before stumbling onto the stage, his usually sharp composure reduced to a wobbly mess.
“Prepare yourselves for the one, the only, Will Solace—master magician, illusionist extraordinaire, and the man who will leave you questioning what’s real and what’s not!”
With that, Will gave a grand bow and stepped back.
Nico took his position, straightening his scarf and adjusting his wide-rimmed glasses. He gave the audience—a crowd of neighbors and their curious kids—a tight smile before nodding at Will.
“For my first trick of the evening,” Will continued, placing a battered top hat on the table, “I’ll need my trusted assistant to help me.”
Nico stepped forward, his face a mask of unimpressed professionalism. “Right,” he muttered, stepping beside Will as the crowd leaned in, their anticipation thick in the air.
Will held up the top hat, spinning it on one finger. “Behold, ladies and gentlemen, the mighty top hat! For my first illusion, I shall make... something disappear!”
The crowd oohed and aahed, clapping lightly. Nico plastered a small smile on his face, hoping his amusement wasn’t too obvious.
Will gestured for Nico to step back, and with a dramatic wave, he placed the hat over Nico’s head.
“I’ve vanished my assistant!” Will declared, lifting the hat dramatically.
Nico stood motionless, glaring at him. “Very funny, Will.”
Will chuckled, oblivious to Nico’s irritation. “Thank you, thank you!”
A few giggles rippled through the crowd as Nico peeled the hat off his head, glaring daggers at Will, who was far too pleased with himself.
“Your turn,” Nico muttered under his breath, practically shoving the hat back toward Will.
Will, too drunk on confidence—and possibly something else—took the hat without hesitation. He adjusted it on his head with a grin.
“For my next trick,” Will slurred, “I shall disappear... forever!”
The crowd erupted into laughter, clapping harder now. Will gave an exaggerated bow, wobbling slightly as he moved. Nico’s face tightened.
“Will!” Nico hissed, stepping forward. “Sit down before you make a fool of yourself.”
Will ignored him, stumbling forward like a man on a mission. “Ladies and gentlemen, behold the magnificent vanishing magician!”
He took a step back, his arms outstretched in a dramatic flourish. As he did, he lost his footing, tripping over his own shoe. The crowd gasped in unison as Will toppled onto the stage with a loud thud.
Nico sighed and stepped forward, muttering to himself. “That’s it.” He grabbed Will, dragging him backstage.
The crowd erupted into laughter, some of the kids now rolling on the grass in hysterics.
Minos, Nico’s only friend in their new town, had been watching from the back of the crowd, his arms crossed as he shook his head. He’d been skeptical from the beginning.
“I told you,” Minos said, approaching Nico backstage. “This was a bad idea.”
Nico barely registered Minos’s voice, his eyes locked on Will, who was now sprawled across the ground, laughing like a maniac.
Nico gritted his teeth. “I’ve got this,” he muttered. “Go grab the water from the table.”
Minos quirked an eyebrow but complied, disappearing into the crowd and reappearing moments later with a glass in hand.
Nico grabbed it from Minos and approached Will, who was now attempting to sit up but kept swaying dangerously. Nico knelt beside him, pressing the glass to Will’s lips.
“Drink this,” Nico ordered, his voice flat.
Will blinked blearily, taking a sip before coughing.
He glanced back at the Minos, who was slightly chuckling. “Go back to your seat. Watch the rest of the show,” he muttered.
Minos hesitated but turned, returning to his spot. Nico crouched beside Will, brushing his hand through Will’s wild hair.
Will blinked up at Nico, his eyes glassy. “Did I… mess up?”
Nico sighed. “Big time.”
Will grinned despite himself. “Worth it.”
Nico gave a short laugh. “You’re impossible.”
Will’s grin widened, his drunkenness finally settling into a more subdued, relaxed state. “But you love me anyway.”
Nico shook his head, rolling his eyes. “Don’t push your luck, Solace.”
Nico stood, offering Will his hand. Will took it, standing with a wobble but remaining upright this time.
“Next time,” Nico muttered, glancing back at the audience. “It’ll be better.”
As Nico helped Will back into the house, the door creaked open behind them, and the same strange chill washed over the suburban street.
This time, they didn’t hear it—it was too quiet, too still. Nico felt the weight of it press down on him, but he pushed it away, focusing on Will.
“Go lie down,” Nico instructed. “I’ll be right there.”
Will gave a lopsided smile but obeyed, disappearing into the dimly lit hallway. Nico stood at the door, his eyes lingering on the quiet street.
Something wasn’t right.
Suddenly, a distant, hollow noise broke the silence—a deep, resonant thud.
Nico turned, his gaze fixed on the source: a manhole cover at the edge of the street, its outline faint in the moonlight.
A figure emerged, stepping onto the street. The woman was armored in something ancient.
“No,” Nico whispered, his breath catching in his throat.
Will stumbled back out from the hallway, his drunken stupor temporarily forgotten. “Nico? What—”
The woman raised her head, her expression unreadable.
The scene shifted—abruptly—back to the living room, where Nico was once again sitting beside Will, who now leaned against the couch, sipping water.
Nico exhaled sharply, the feeling of unease still lingering in his bones.
Upstairs, the sound of running footsteps echoed down the hall—light and quick. Two children appeared at the top of the staircase, their faces familiar, yet unfamiliar.
Nico and Will exchanged looks, neither knowing what to say.
“Papa! Daddy!” one of the children called out, their small voices cutting through the silence.
Nico stepped forward, his gaze steady but distant. “Hello,” he said softly. “Welcome home.”
Will furrowed his brow, unsure whether to respond. Nico met his gaze, offering a small smile.
Will returned a hesitant smile and beckoned at the children to come near.
Things would be better next time.
