Today I have a rose for you that I grew in my previous garden in San Diego: William Shakespeare 2000. This gem was once very hyped by David Austin Roses as one of their most beautiful red roses and I agree, but only about a decade later it almost seems to be forgotten, a faith that sadly happens to many wonderful roses. In my opinion William Shakespeare 2000 deserves its place in the gardens of the world. The beauty of his large, velvety, crimson red (their color is a little darker than my camera was able to capture), very full, cupped, quartered blooms speaks for itself. On top of that, they also come with a lovely strong old rose fragrance. Do you remember William Shakespeare 2000? Do you grow one of these forgotten roses in your garden?
