William Phillips as Bill Burk hating Nazis opposite Robert Walker in See Here, Private Hargrove (1944).

Watching this I noticed the interesting parallel to the 'I don't like bullies' barracks scene between Steve Rogers and Abraham Erskine.

Similar to Rogers, Burk was staying in and studying so he could be better at defeating Nazis instead of going out to a party and dance. Seems that Private Burk is as good a candidate for Captain America as Steve Rogers.

Not an uncommon story beat but still leads me to wonder if this scene may have directly inspired the similar one in the 2011 film.

I have once again created a nonsensical comic

I've been cooking up an Au in my head for my own entertainment

Basically: Luz finds William early on in her stay at the boiling isles and he sets up in a treehouse next to the owl house, he still isn't fond of her but slowly things between the two get better. The events of Hollow Mind happen extremely early so Luz doesn't know what a mindscape is and Hunter still exists as his own character. Luz and Hunter end up in Belos' true mindscape and both assume that they were teleported into some dingy forest. Kid Belos (Pip/Philip) exists as a small manifestation of Belos's guilt for killing Caleb so when Hunter and Luz find him they assume someone abandoned their kid in the forest. Luz gets ahold of Eda and since Eda still has magic she's able to poof them out and they take Philip with them. They discover he's human and since Hunter knows nothing of humans he leaves Pip for Luz to take care of. Luz introduces Pip to William and William is... Distant, but because of his similarities to Caleb and Hunter (because in this au William is a relative of the Wittebane family) Pip kinda latches onto him and ultimately becomes the thing that helps William and Luz mend a friendship together... Then eventually Hunter too.

Then Luz gets to explain to her mom how she got three new brothers 🙏 (four including King)

ALSO YES I KNOW THE GRAMMAR ISNT GOOD it's just for fun please have mercy on me it's hard 😔

Maybe one day I'll flesh this out more and make a comic of it... Depends how many people find it interesting ig 🙏
