Loving life and working on a new wood carving 🙌   Engaging in others hobbies helps me focus, improves my spirit, and increase happiness. I find it helps boost my imagination and makes me feel more relaxed and calm before starting work on my micro sculpture work. 😊
None crafters, if you have never crafted before, and looking for a hobby or a way to pass the time, then choose a craft, just let go and have fun. Research suggests that crafting can help reduce anxiety, improve mood, and increase happiness, all of which can help fight depression and sadness.
Have a great weekend. Thanks, Dr Willard Wigan MBE

What else! George Clooney face carved into a coffee bean. Now, what do you think of my coffee bean carving of George Clooney's face? For many years I have been a big fan of his films which have included classics like Oceans 12, The American, Tomorrowland, Dusk Till Dawn, and O Brother where art thou?. When George first appeared on the Nespresso TV Adverts I kept thinking to myself? "Maybe I should carve another coffee bean as a tribute piece and a challenge to myself?". I then remembered the last coffee bean I carved and almost talked myself out of the challenge. Coffee beans are very difficult to carve, they are crumbly, hollow and they brake apart very easily. A simple mistake, or applying the wrong amount of pressure can destroy the carving in one move. The first coffee bean I attempted to carve was of the face of Queen Elizabeth II. If you look back through my previous posts you can find the Jubilee piece. The George Clooney carving took me several attempts before I finally finished the piece with a happy face. I hope all my fans and followers appreciate the carving? Feedback, comments, shares are all welcome. A Collaboration of Craftsmen Video - The Time to Remember the Missing Soldier micro sculpture and the memorial clock is on display @thebcag The micro sculpture was made from gold, kevlar, and painted using an eyelash, and then mounted onto the tip of First World War Lee Enfield 303 bullet. The bullet tip was then micro-engraved by Graham Short - At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we shall remember them. The tiny soldier micro sculpture was placed and mounted within a beautiful handmade globe clock made by Tom Powell of Osberg & Martin.
Poem by my brother Trevor Wigan
World war 1 Collaboration Poem If I could change the winds of fate, Each soldier would go home, For it's they who gave us freedom, And a spirit free to roam. Their dark sky would be golden, Their battle at it's end, Returning to their loved ones, Free to walk beside a friend. Take the bullet from the gun, And let the wars now cease, Let the poppy be a symbol, Let the whole world live in peace. Let us change the winds of fate, Each person say no more, And take the bullet from the gun, Find peace not hate and war.
By Trevor Wiggan.

Tiny House on the head of pin 2020. A big thank you Ivo Valkenburg, Netherlands for featuring the macro house on the cover of the New Financial Magazine, along with a full interview and article. Visit my smart bio above to find out more. Whenever I create a new micro sculpture of a house it always reminds me of when I was a boy creating houses for ants. The piece was created using red nylon fibres for the door, black nylon fibres for the roof, glass shards, 24 carat-gold for the letterbox, and took around 6 weeks to complete. Please join my mailing list, to be in with a chance of winning tickets to my new permanent Exhibition in Birmingham. Quick link in my smart.bio/willardwiganmbe 👆👆👆 Photography: @paulwardphotography

Fairy 🧚‍♀️ on the head of a pin was created way back in 2008. This piece, if I remember, was carved from a grain of rice, plastic and carpet fibre for the wings, and was painted using the hair from a fly. As a child, like most children, I regularly escaped into a fantasy world dreaming about all kinds of magical tiny beings and hidden worlds. Fairies 🧚‍♂️ are beautiful human-like miniature figure with wings of a butterfly often associated with plants and springtime, depicted as pure figures who possess magical powers. Just like all magical and mystical creatures we all have superpowers, and my superpower was my Autism, it allowed me to stay focused, with clear intentions on what I wanted to achieve.
