He continued to call himself Mairon the Admirable, or Tar-mairon ("King Excellent"), until after Númenor's downfall, although he could not use that name in Númenor, as it was a Quenya name with royal implications. There he was called Zigûr, meaning "Wizard" in Adûnaic.

One of my favourite things about the Elizabeth sequel is the implied character arc Walsingham goes thru between movies.
Like he goes from Badass Honey Pot Ninja Assassin to Dad Bod Civil Servant. (Still torturing tho because some things never change.)
Like was that his endgoal the whole time? Was that what all the scheming and intriguing was ultimately for? When he held that little girl in the first movie was he thinking "ah, can't wait to have a kid of my own one day. I just gotta kill these people first"?
Was that what he always planned? To get married? To have children? To have a nice house with a library? To spend his twilight years reading PAPERWORK about PORTS?
The longer I think about it the funnier it gets

Welcome to the style, you haven't seen in a while, it's Lavish
"I learned in [Queen Mary’s] court that she has already given up the superstitions that used to exist, that women should not wear gold or coloured clothing, as she and many of her company are adorned with gilding."
- Antoine Noailles to King Henri II of France, 7th August 1553
