Much delayed, but for the truth-or-dare ask game: 🍓🥑🥤🧃 (🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷)
My friend! 💙💙💙💙💙
These are such good ones, omg. Sorry in advance for the word vomit, lolol
🍓 - How did you get into writing fanfiction?
Okay, so I've kind of been writing fic in my head (and sometimes in notebooks/random word documents) since I was about 8 years old, and I first realized that 'writing stories' was 1) a thing ANYONE could do, and also, sometimes, 2) a job that required refined skills, lol. When you're a kid you're told (if you're lucky) that you can do anything that you put your mind to, and little Sky loved stories more than most other things, so I couldn't imagine doing something with the rest of my life that didn't involve them! So I started practicing. The first fanfic I ever wrote was in a journal, and it was only a few pages long because I did not have great penmanship and was impatient with own slowness, lol. I'm fairly certain I was embarrassed by my efforts and threw them out. For a long time I wrote elaborate stories in my head instead, and didn't start actually doing the (MUCH harder) work of putting them on paper until high school. But I was also having a complex at that point in my life around acceptability/popularity and anxiety around being perceived as a nerd, so I was way too terrified to tell anyone I was writing it. And then I was so disillusioned by the meanness that I saw in online fandom spaces that it still took years before I got up the courage to post any of it publicly! I've had an ao3 account for the past decade, and was a lurker for a good five years before that, but I didn't start posting my own work until just under two years ago. That ought to say something, I think. 💀
🥑 - you accidentally killed someone, which mutal(s) do you text for help?
LOL, heaven forbid I ever find myself in this situation, but if so...honestly probably you, lmao, and some other folks on here that I don't think have ever been involved in crimes, but are otherwise competent, functioning adults who don't shy away from difficult/grey situations - at least in fiction, lol. @60sec400 @darkmagyk @phykios @deerlie-main , I hope you are not insulted by this. 💀
🥤- recommend an author or fanfic you love
I just did this the other week - and apparently y'all really needed recs, wow! - so I'm kind of wracking my brain here to rec something I haven't already recommended recently...there are a LOT of good options to choose from! I guess I'll go with 'percy jackson and the scrutiny of his coworkers', which is an absolutely BRILLIANT outsider pov fic by pqrker on ao3. It's popular for a reason, and the reason being that it is perfect. 🥹
🧃- share some personal lore you've never posted about before
Ooooo, hmm, what to pick, what to pick...hmm, okay, I'll go with this. A segue from my first answer, lol. I was nominated for Homecoming Queen in high school, and was the first runner up, so - hilariously - became the Homecoming Princess. It was my teen movie Cinderella-story moment, because I had always been the shy nerd in the back of the classroom, but then all of a sudden was in a fancy dress on the football field getting a crown and wondering what parallel universe and/or Taylor Swift song I'd just fallen into. And weirdly enough, knowing that I hadn't done anything special to be nominated - that people had just liked me - went a long way towards me being able to accept myself more holistically. Maybe if they liked me enough for that, I could like me enough to try and see what they saw, you know? It was years ago now, but it is a fond and bizarre memory, and was very helpful to a confused and anxious 17 year old! 😅
You may have gotten more than you planned with this ask, lol, but thank you for asking, my friend. 💙

— HIS GAZE SOFTENED. . .
⤷ his gaze softened trend with them!
featuring the DORM LEADERS
RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS
his gaze softened, in a way that's such as a sweet dessert batter melting under an oven. hot heat spreading all over, looking at you as if your the sun he's left to dry in. no one could ever make him feel the way you make him feel, and perhaps for that he is thankful. a relax of the face only you could make him feel safe enough to do, all sides of himself on display for those with eyes who can see the invisible, and for you. a courageous notion it is to let such fondness slip.
LEONA KINGSCHOLAR
his gaze softened, in a way that is indecipherable. to common folk, or any passerby it would be unnoticeable. Like a speck of dust the same color of the sky flying past the eye. but to those with the privilege of a microscope, its more seen then the sky itself. which in itself may be a silly phrase, but its nothing but true. for something that covers your complete vision, like the sky, you cannot see past it. and when you catch the soft gaze of a lion in your horizon, you should never look away.
AZUL ASHENGROTTO
his gaze softened, or did it? it went by like a blink of an eye, a fish swimming by in a series of bubbles of all the same colors. a flurry of emotion, yet not counted or captured by your mind. and he, the man before you wishes to keep it that way. he will hold his affections down like a sunken ship until he wishes for you to find it. now, he feels as if these soft gazes from behind, watching your radiation from afar, unreachable like a sunset. he's content, more then content. he's not ready to break that.
KALIM AL ASIM
his gaze softened, his eyes upturning in a way of fondness separate from his usual looks of radiance and sunshine. beauty and curiosity, joy. all of it common traits associated with the boy. but for now, his eyes didn't hold any of it, for now it shined like a bright ruby. shines like its his first time seeing the sun, glimmering brightly in the hands of someone who can take him far and wide, someone he would be willing to love, and for that a fond smile, much lighter then usual arises on his face.
VIL SCHOENHEIT
his gaze softened, the hard jeweled eyes melting into a gooey shimmering oil of which you can see swirl, a whirlpool of emotions of which all mix into one. the professional actor he is, he's learned effortlessly on how to get that look of pure tenderness in his eyes as he looks at someone, but for those who have seen him with you. all those movies look photoshopped, as nothing can replace the genuinely in his eyes when they're glued to you.
IDIA SHROUD
his gaze softened in a way he'd never imagine himself doing. idia knows the terminology from his own... content. and he never thought the gestures could be real, until he found himself looking upon you. oh so perfect you, someone he can't help but to adore ever so. and his eyes must be the window to his heart and soul, as every emotion he doesn't let out in fear of a stutter or mess is said concise and clearly through his golden yellow eyes.
MALLEUS DRACONIA
his gaze softened, as if he was staring at the moonlight, or as if it was love at first sight. his usual stiff gaze ceased to exist when faced with you, his love. he held no shame as he stared at you as if you were the only one in the world, as if you were a birthday present for him. his gaze softened so, as his brows creased and a soft smile reached his face. nothing could replace the sight of your smile, and that in itself causes his body to relax and mind to slow. you make him so much happier, you are his stars on an empty night.

when the brainrot hits you like a truck
here are some cooking and cooking related headcanons!!
• kazuki is a very good teacher, hes generally very patient and attentive, he tends to bicker with rei a lot, he struggles to formulate himself concisely sometimes but hes doing great
• miri joins in anytime they cook, they let her wash the vegetables or mix ingredients together, which she obviously has little songs for
• rei is trying his darndest damn it!!
• he finds it really hard asking about stuff and especially for help but hes trying and i love him 😢😢😢
• rei sucks at cracking eggs, miri laughs endlessly, kazuki is dying in the background,,, he keeps explaining how to do it correctly but it never seems to get through to rei
• its not even funny at this point, either the egg is smashed before hes even tapped it to the counter or he ends up using too much force when tapping it against the counter or he successfully cracks the egg but shell ends up going in alongside it-
• he is also stupidly fixated on being able to crack eggs single-handedly (he says its bc its efficient and its always good to have a hand free, which is true, but really he just thinks its badass) and its the bane of kazukis existence, he comes home one day to find both rei and miri (bc miri would also think thats the coolest thing ever and want in) in the kitchen with an almost empty egg carton and egg and shell covered counters, they make eye contact and kazuki immediately turns around and leaves to buy more eggs without so much as a word
• kazuki abandons using omelets as an easy entry-level dish after that
• rei is bad at seasoning savory dishes, hes bad at eyeballing the appropriate amount, kazuki does his best at helping or getting him to use measurements but rei is stubborn, he obviously doesnt want more to have more dishes that absolutely necessary so he needs to work on his eyeballing skill
• during early sessions kazuki would always supervise closely and sorta just constantly stare like a hawk over reis shoulder, he learned quickly not to do that again 💀💀💀
• rei doesnt really grow to like vegetables but kazuki learns ways to work around that by discretely incorporating them in dishes
• rei does like cucumber tho, subtle and very crunchy, put some salt on that sucker and youve got an easy snack (that he shares with miri), you dont even have chop it in order to enjoy it which is appreciated
• kazuki throws a bunch of cookbooks at rei and urges him to look through them and see if anyhting piques his interest, rei flips through them before going to sleep which can bite him in the ass when he has to go to sleep hungry as fuck 💀💀
• hes woken up multiple times with a cookbook in the tub with him
• rei enjoys baking a lot, his and miris sweet tooths never go unsatisfied
• he doesnt bake frequently per se, but he does so in bulk, and freezes cookie dough and such
• kazuki, early on, suggested cooking games in order to maybe get rei a bit familiarized with terms and techniques but he grew to regret it, a gaming night where everyone is gathered in the living room and kazuki loses his mind at the logic in the games, he doesnt stop commentating
• they end up getting into cooperate cooking games like overcooked, plates up and one-armed cook tho and its all good, if they play with miri in the vicinity they have to bite their tongues in order to not swear
• rei struggles grasping his mind around meat, theres so many kinds and cuts and doneness levels and ways of preparation and spice blends- its all a lot
• rei and miri each get their own aprons to match with kazukis 🥺🥺🥺
• miri gets a little yellow one with a monkey or like a sky blue or pink one with a white rabbit, fuck it why not both
• rei has an orange one with a black cat
• or if we wanna stick to an ocean theme, miri would have a goldfish or jellyfish and rei would have an octopus
• rei is a bit of a mess in the kitchen but we love him anyway, i just feel like hed be the type to go "ill clean it all at the end"
• he unceremoniously throws dirtied utensils and pots in the sink to be delt with later
• doesnt even use waiting times to clean or clear his space a little, kazuki is horrified
• rei finds doing the dishes a bit tedious at times but he enjoys the process and seeing the fruits of his labor in the form of sparkling clean dishes
• the repetitive motions are very soothing
• he doesnt like getting wet tho and wears gloves
• rei listens to music when cooking- maybe some instrumental tracks, nothing too distracting
• miri observes whenever either of them are cooking, she stands on a little stool in order to see the counters properly, she is really curious and inquisitive
• early on in reis cooking journey she would give him pointers and reminders she remembered kazuki telling them
• rei isnt an adventurous eater or cook, he prefers things that are simple and quick to prepare
• wait times for rei are long and arduous so he sneaks off to play some video games in the living room, the first few times he did this were disastrous and hes learnt to turn down the volume by a bit and reminding himself that he is in fact in the middle of cooking something
• the family makes lots of homemade popsicles during summer
• when kazuki and rei first try cooking together they mess up a lot but eventually they get a system going where each of them has their own tasks. they make a good team in the kitchen for the most part
• cooking very much becomes a family activity for them after a while
#these are so disorganized- good luck#pls tell me your fave and your own hcs i need to know#my faves are the ones about eggs 😭😭😭#i spent well over two hours thinking about fictional characters cooking... this is what my life has come to.....#buddy daddies#rei suwa#these are mostly rei as per usual#miri unasaka#kazuki kurusu#i wanna draw so many of these 😭😭😭#dizzybrainworms

Honest answer, please: why did Jared already have a job ready for him (Walker), even before the end of SPN and Jensen didn't? Maybe Jensen isn't the type suited to the role of leader character, but he's still a good actor. So why? So far he has only landed brief supporting roles.
First, Jensen may have put too much time and attention campaigning a Dean-led Supernatural to WB once Jared leaves for Walker. Jensen should have been working on his branding instead. Which brings me to... .
Second, Jensen has a branding issue. I would h be a rich(er) man if I got a dollar every time a casting director said, "Yeah he's a good actor, but I don't know what to do with him." In my experience, actors who don't learn about branding now are always going to regret it later because they're stuck and struggling.
“Actors who understand their brand are the busiest working actors.” - Amy Jo Berman, former vice president of casting for HBO
I tell aspiring actors to choose 3 words that best represent their outlook, beliefs, and general demeanor that reflect their authentic selves, for example - loyal, hardworking, insightful. From there, a clear and concise message can be crafted to convince buyers (producers, casting directors) to hire you and keep doing it because you offer them something unique that buyers can’t get elsewhere.
Look at Jensen's visual media pages and ask, what is he broadcasting?
Third, I suspect that Jensen’s team may only want him in lead roles and was soft sabotaging him as result. I’ve talked about my experience here of actors' teams calling to tell me their client will “not be doing supporting characters anymore” because if they ever to “break out” and “go lead” then they have to say “no” to playing “second banana” from here on out. Then inevitably actors would call me to ask why I stopped bringing them in on the shows and films our company cast, and I had to tell them that their agents or managers were not pitching them for our company’s projects anymore. It's pretty devastating for actors to learn this.
So Jensen took it upon himself to call Kripke for a recurring role on The Boys. His team begrudgingly agreed because at least The Boys has 10 million views. Jensen repeat the process when he actively pursue Big Sky's role despite his team protest. As you can see here, his fans agreed with Jensen's team on taking non-leading roles.
With The Boys and Big Sky, Jensen is signaling that he's willing to take non-lead roles despite what his agent may say otherwise.

What drew you to Hekate? At a first glance I was taken aback until I recalled that you work with Ksitigarbha who is also associated with the Underworld since his pledge involves freeing suffering souls from it.
A good question...
Hekate is more than a goddess of witchcraft and the ghostly dead. She is a goddess of ever going beyond. Beyond oneself, one's limits, beyond the known and the unknown. In the Chaldean oracles, she is the world soul – a fully transcendent being who rules over the sky, sea and underworld. To the ancients who did not have the means to explore the planet and outer space, these three realms would have seemed to stretch on endlessly.
She takes many forms – the wrathful Brimo, the mysterious three-faced Enodia, the majestic and empyrean Soteria. She was spoken of highly by my Buddhist peers as having the qualities of a Buddha, one who has gone beyond duality.
I think the most concise answer is that I wanted to learn from her, and be like her.
Even more so after I learned of Jason Miller's background in both Western occultism and esoteric Buddhism, and the course he teaches on Hekate. It seemed to occupy the same space between East and West that I so often find myself in, as someone who is mixed race, bilingual, and has spent time living on both sides of the world.
I found Hekate intimidating for a long time, but I would have truly regretted it if I never made the attempt to reach out. And I am very glad that I did.
Ksitigarbha is indeed associated with the Underworld, but one should not mistake him as an Underworld being. He is an enlightened bodhisattva, and he is not restricted to the Underworld by any means. One can call upon his aid from anywhere.
He noticed that Hell beings are so often overlooked due to their terrifying nature, and his empathy inspired him to take a vow to never rest until the Hells are emptied of suffering souls. Even the demons who cause suffering are, themselves, suffering. He also takes care of the souls of children who find themselves lost in the Underworld.
In a similar way, Hekate is known to be a psychopomp who looks after the restless, unburied and unloved dead. They follow her because of her compassion, and she gives them shelter and purpose.
Some of us may be lucky enough to find ourselves in a pleasant afterlife, but even so, there are many spirits in our ancestral line who did not, and their karma influences our own. It is not to strange to venerate Underworld deities when one understands that we are not so separate as we think. Death feeds on life, and life feeds on death.

can i request a Jannik Sinner fic where the reader asks him to teach her tennis and he’s just super patient and sweet. thank youu
Heyyy, I'm back. Uni is killing me, but I'm here, just because of you guys. But yeah...
I did a survey a while ago just so I could write about this request and basketball winner for a lot. ~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•°•~•°•~
Summary: During your vacations you try your best to spend the most time you have with your boyfriend, even tho of it means to learn how to play a new sport.
Warnings: a little tension/fluff/wag!reader.
A/N: English is NOT my first language, so if you find any mistakes (of any kind) please let me know. Thank you <3.
~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•°•~•°•~
You were simply exhausted lately, but you always tried to be there for your boyfriend. The off season was definitely a relief for you, because you got to see your boyfriend a little more relaxed then usual and always trying to stick with you. You were now in Alicante, where Jannik was practicing with Carlitos #2 of the world just yesterday. His relationship with Carlitos was a little weirdly too loving, but you didn't care much.
The summer sun beat down on the tennis court, casting a warm glow over the pristine surface. You watched from the sidelines as Jannik Sinner gracefully moved across the court, his powerful strokes echoing through the air. As his practice session came to an end, he flashed you a bright smile before making his way over to where you were sitting.
"Hey, how was that?" he asked, his blue eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Amazing, as always," you replied, unable to tear your gaze away from him.
He chuckled, reaching out to ruffle your hair affectionately. "You're too kind. But hey, since you're here, why don't you give it a try? I could teach you a few things."
You hesitated for a moment, glancing nervously at the racket he offered. You had never been particularly of a tennis girly, and the thought of embarrassing yourself in front of Jannik was enough to make your palms sweat. But then you remembered why you were here – to spend time with him, to share in his passions – and you knew you couldn't say no.
"Okay, sure," you said, mustering up your courage. "But I have to warn you, I'm not very good, my thing is drilling a basketball."
Jannik just grinned, pulling you to your feet and leading you out onto the court. He positioned you carefully, showing you how to hold the racket and how to stand. His touch was gentle yet firm, his instructions clear and concise. And as you tentatively took your first swing, you couldn't help but marvel at the way he made it all seem so effortless.
For the next hour, you practiced tirelessly under Jannik's watchful eye. He praised you when you did well, corrected you when you made mistakes, and encouraged you every step of the way. And slowly but surely, you began to improve. Your shots became more accurate, your movements more fluid, and with each passing minute, you felt yourself growing more confident.
But more than that, you felt yourself falling more deeply in love with Jannik than ever before. There was something incredibly intimate about sharing this part of his life with him, about learning and growing together as a couple. And as the sun began to dip below the horizon and the sky turned a fiery shade of orange, you knew that this was a moment you would treasure forever.
As you packed up your things and made your way back to the hotel hand in hand, you couldn't help but feel grateful for this precious time you had spent with Jannik. And as you drifted off to sleep that night, the sound of his laughter echoing in your ears, you knew that this was only the beginning of your journey together – both on and off the court.
~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•~°•°•~•°•~
And... That's all. It's short but a little longer than usual. I actually don't have much time for this but I Indeed try. I hope you liked it. Please leave so much love, so I can be motivated to keep writing. 🤍👋

Thai QL Favorites Tag Game
Tagged by @telomeke ! I was surprised when i saw the notification pop up but yaay I loved reading your answers and I'm very excited to try this out too. Thanks for tagging me🤗
Credit to the creator of this game @thatgirl4815 of the Thai BL Favorites Tag Game.
Fair warning, almost the entirety of this is going to be filled with Bad Buddy related responses and it's gonne be the opposite of concise *SURPRISE* so yes lezgo...
Favorite Thai QL: Bad Buddy. It was the second thai QL i have ever watched and THE ONLY reason i decided to actually consume more of thai QL content cos this show moved me in a way nothing i had ever seen until then had. It was queer, it was asian, it intentionally subverted so many tropes i hated, gave us inkpa AND patpran-one of the most beautiful and respectful love stories ive ever seen that culminated in an ending that is as happy as it is realistic and i am still in awe of p'aof and ohmnanon and the gem they made. But also. Just for episode 5. Perfection. Also, Episode 7 my beloved. And Episode 11 the love of my life. Bad Buddy you will always be my favourite <3
Favorite Pairing: OhmNanon -> PatPran ofc! I've never seen the appeal of childhood friends to lovers until i saw Patpran's childhood frenemies to adult frenemies to friends to lovers. Just the most organic growth of a bond whose seeds were sown even before they were born. But most importantly once they grew up and were confronted with obstacles and realities, they chose to love eo and kept on choosing eo. Their love, their regard for eo, the way they cared for eo, it's all so very precious and i just won't ever love a romantic pairing the way i do patpran, and it's half because of just how brilliant ohmnanon's chemistry worked, they are EVERYTHING to me.
I also LOVE First & Khaotung's chemistry. Great Stuff. Also Net & James.
Most underrated actor: I don't know if i have watched enough shows to comment on this since the actors i mention might actually be well appreciated and not strictly underrated but yes Fluke Gawin Caskey is on my list too. I feel that his drop dead gorgeous looks have somehow made his real acting chops appear like an afterthought when in reality it so isn't. Kinda have similar feelings about Net from Bed Friend as well.
I loved LOVE from bad buddy, and i can't wait to see her in 23.5 with Milk. Suar from You're My Sky & La Pluie, and Title also from La Pluie, War from Love Mechanics, First & Khaotung from Eclipse (i know they are well loved but still!) i REALLY enjoyed their performances.
Favorite Character: Pran Parakul my beloved. Pran is in so many ways so similar to me i immediately took a liking to him. I don't know how much my love for Pran is inextricably tied to how Nanon played the part but the pining and the love that was just on display but hidden oh so beautifully, my heart hadnt ached for a character in a romance story in so long. And then the love is reciprocated and then instead of the character doing a full 180 and being unrealistically happy we see him struggle to adjust, we see him learn and grow and finally accept the love he had been wanting all along, and along the way learning to be a better partner too, more gushing on pran here, cos i'm incorrigible.
Favorite Side Character: Pa from Bad Buddy. I love love love Pa and Pat's bond. I love how Pa is like Pat's compass pointing him in the right direction (more often than not) and Pat listens and actually follows up on what she says. And also "men are so boring, and are all men delusional like you" NO ONE DOES IT LIKE PA I SAY. Special mention to Ink & her "It's so gainful".
Also Tee from Gap The Series, Palm's mom from Never Let Me Go, the uncles from My Ride (they remind me of Patpran with all their bickering ahhh), Tien & Bow from La Pluie, Pharm & Manow from Between Us, Pear from Be My Favorite. Oh also everybody in Cher's friendgroup from A Boss and a Babe.
Favorite scene in a QL: I'm gonna cheat cos there is no way i can pick one, so here's 5, all from Bad Buddy: ep 5 rooftop Kiss, that whole scene in ep 7 where pat shows up as Riam and saves the play, the balcony phone call scene ep 8, ep 11 the scene that starts with Pat thanking Pran for "trying to make a silly guy like me happy" and also the scene where Pran follows "i wrote this song for him" up with singing the beautiful song that was "our song" SOBBBS.
But also Thun's coming out scene in He's Coming to Me is so so very special to me.
Okay maybe that's more than 5, but i already said i'd cheat so :333
Favorite line in a QL: So many lines from Bad Buddy I could just go on and on under this prompt BUT okay i'll be good this time if i had to pick one just rn then - "Together, we’ve been through a lot. We’ve experienced wonderful times a lot. We’ve had awful times a lot. We’ve looked out for each other a lot. We’ve been concerned about each other a lot. We’ve been thinking about each other a lot and we’ve been happier, a lot." will just have to be the winner. What a crown worthy answer, my baby Pran is right as usual.
Most Anticipated QL (& why): 23.5 degrees. GMMTV finally releasing a GL show after years and years of BL content. And also MilkLove together after Bad Buddy & INKPA NEED I SAY MORE!?!?
But also "Last Twilight" cos i cant wait to see what P'aof's been cooking.
Healthiest relationship in a QL: Patpran, again xD. This is extra special because they had all the obstacles that could have made this such a toxic relationship and yet they focused on respect and consent and healthy communication and caring for each other and understanding each other and becoming better versions of themselves because of and with each other and the prominent way consent is emphasized in all their intimate moments, it's just EVERYTHING to me.
Also Mork & Tawan from My Ride. Rarely do we get to see such an equally contributive and reciprocal and healthy relationship. It was a pleasure to watch.
Most toxic relationship in a QL: Maybe VeeMark from Love Mechanics. They were cute and shiz but just way too much back and forth and miscommunication just NO.
Guilty pleasure series: Bed Friend
Most underrated series: My Ride, He's Coming to Me, You're My Sky
Tagging @sharingfandoms, @aroceu, @thecriers, @midnightfreeway, @lovelyghostv, @fiercynn, @thegayneurodivergentagenda and whoever else who wants to try this, no compulsion <3
#thai ql tag game#bad buddy#patpran#my ride#la pluie#be my favorite#23.5 degrees#bed friend#he's coming to me#you're my sky#if you read till here????#thats so sweet of you????#i would've dropped mine personally#i cheated so many times#anyways thanks for reading#ily <3

3/6/2024
The sky looked drastically different throughout the whole day which was really cool. She has the range.
Positive thing: I had a surprisingly good prac session, and had fun learning about kanji.
I was in the middle of trying to find resources to use for my Conversation Table this Saturday and ended up down this rabbit hole trying to figure out kanji. I mean, I know enough to read the ones I've memorized and understand the basic concept, but I never bothered to learn deeply about how it works. Turns out most English-based online resources teach what radicals are completely differently than what they actually are in Japanese. Put as concisely as possible without me going into a tangent, most resources say kanji are made up of multiple radicals, but actually each kanji just has one radical, and the whole system of how kanji are made up is different than just radicals making up a character.
But in the end I guess it doesn't matter too much to a beginner, and might not ever matter to a learner who can read and understand them fine without knowing how the system works, so it's a fun fact mostly. I'm actually a little fascinated by how... wrong? most resources teach it. Like, what was so hard about just teaching it how it actually is? But whatever.
Prac was rough. I literally told my supervisor my brain was dissociating so hard it was trying to move me into the next dimension. But luckily I'm pretty good at making myself tune in when I have to. I did end up making good progress with my clients, even though afterwards I basically just cocooned in my room all night recovering from the effort of being a human.
I put together my to-do list for stuff that has to get done by the end of next week and it is gross. We also have a friend coming over starting this weekend so I'm kind of just anticipating needing a lot of downtime and working steadily to keep myself sane. I'm sure it'll end up fine. I just have to make it until the week after when my spring break starts.

Treatise on my contemporary moment
I thought I would start musing on philosophy and how I’m doing today. It’s raining today but not like the world is crying. It’s a sign of patience. It’s good to drink coffee. I checked my blood pressure and it was sky high. At least my heart rate was about as low as ever.
Part of what I want to do here is think about my alcohol use disorder.
I woke up with a terrible hangover, which didn’t last all morning. Today I am feeling like I don’t want this addiction anymore. It’s been the one drug I allow myself. The plague of an artist attracted to the heightened senses. Change the balance. Sometimes it helps with writing but not all the time. I don’t see myself getting sober. I’ve been drinking a lot for ten years and I want to treat my body better. I go to the gym a few times per week with the routine of run-walk-run workouts. I enjoy running when I don’t have racing thoughts at the gym. Thankfully my diet aligns with supporting my liver. Fuck fatty liver disease. I eat leafy greens and beans and skinless chicken and healthy oils, etc. That’s moderately reassuring. I’m 32 years old - which I remind myself isn’t young. A brief review of all the thoughts I’ve had today. I want to write new contemplation. Prose with poetic inflections. Alcohol use disorder is linked to different kinds of cancer which I wasn’t aware of. I mainly knew it damaged organs. Fuck scar tissue. My gym routine is a step in the right direction. I’m glad salads help the liver. Such good practices may blossom into habits or lifestyle changes…eventually. Less alcohol will have a positive impact on my finances. I may decompress the concision of the text as I muse here. In therapy the development of a healthy lifestyle through process has come up, and I learned that a process requires work. Poetry is a process but I don’t think of that as work. However, that process is indeed work when I have entire sessions of writer’s block. I want to have a balanced approach in making lifestyle changes. The priorities in life (running, writing) seem like a struggle. The possibility of regret regarding my alcohol use disorder and the conflict of possibly benefiting my writing will require further consideration. Latent disbelief that I shouldn’t Hemingway my way through my art. The current idea to cut back the alcohol towards detox, including when writing.
A few fragments about study of philosophy
I’m interested value theory in philosophy and how such considerations might inform my poems. I’m interested in studying religious epistemology. I found a great textbook on Audible. The study could, or rather, ought to inform my Christian apologetics. Wow the mention of Christian apologetics in the same breath as more than one F bomb. Old and New Man in competition moment to moment.

TRUE NARRATIVE STORY AND TESTIMONIES
Was a beautiful day. The sun cast it’s radiant rays upon a little small village in China. Little dust of ivory clouds navigated itself around the sky. On that day a naïve girl of four years-old sat in her concise house of only one room., no bigger than a mini garage. An average size twin bed faced the wall, a bed that three people shared every night. A cheap old fashioned stove adjacent to the bed, and a cabinet where three utensils, three plates, and three pairs of clothes lay.
INTRODUCTION
Little dust of ivory clouds navigated itself around the sky. On that day a naïve girl of four years-old sat in her concise house of only one room., no bigger than a mini garage. An average size twin bed faced the wall, a bed that three people shared every night
SUMMARY
There was the terrible smell of cigarette, body odor, and car gas. I clung to my mother’s pant leg for I didn’t want to be separated from her. I buried my face into her pant leg, not wanting to draw attentions to myself. My mom never looked at me through this whole trip. The bus flew through towns and towns, making the outside world a blur.
EVALUATION
The essay/story is all about the life of joan didion in new york and why she loves the city.
Didion’s story captures the experience of many OFWs who flock to cities like New York with dreams of success, only to encounter the harsh realities of urban life.
Yes the author successfully delivered her point of delivering her experience in new york and how she love the city.
CONCLUSION
I do agree in the author’s point and the line “It would be a long while because, quite simply, I was in love with New York. I do not mean “love” in any colloquial way, I mean that I was in love with the city, the way you love the first person who ever touches you and you never love anyone quite that way again.” Is the line that make a deep impression on me.
Based on her story there are some advantage and disadvantage living in cities that youre not familiar with and in her story she stated all of that but in her case its in New York City.
The story/essay of joan didion is a very good essay the contructions of sentences and the ideas are all on point. There are also learnings that you can pick up from it.Will definitely recommend this story to people who wants to go in New York.

Midnight chattering,
Years happen into days, weeks, months and then years, but do the things that happen within, happen into the figurative meaning of time.
An idea of self, other and life used to be in some way and the way had itself into different ways by time.
“You’re gonna carry that weight” a quote he wrote while doodling on a blank tote bag.
Translucent as it is, you’re the only one who’s gonna sit with the consequences of your choices. Not in any bad way, but it is you who’s living your life.
A screenshot sent by a friend on a steamy summer day “If fear had to decide our life choices, what else do we have to live for”
And so, Fear has its way to push you places or either confine you into a tight corner of nothingness and a swirl of ‘what ifs’.
As fear is the human’s basic instinct to move. Time molded it into different colors throughout the years as well. And as years were not the hours, days and weeks complied to the sense of a -year-
But else, it was the time spent in change, resilience, sitting with hard feelings without them hovering your life and self.
Time is such an abstract sense that by all means is so relative and beautiful.
Sometimes language feels precise and concise. It doesn’t have enough words to explain how the sun sounds like, or how the moon draws itself on the sky. How things make us feel even if we have the awareness of that feeling.
Yet translation lies between the lines of art, movies, songs, a stranger’s face or touch of a hand and a look into your lover’s eye.
In such life it’s quite enough to enjoy the small pleasures. Shots of awe do happen and when they do I hope that we contain them with serenity and gratitude but shall not frail into the despair of there absence.
In the past few years life has shown me so much gratitude for myself and the people around me.
We might swirl into the doubt that we’re the only ones going through -this thing- whatever this things is, however it is consoling enough that we all come from the same places, but maybe with different contexts.
We all have fear, love, longing, hopes, aloofness, anger, unfathomed feelings, insecurities, things that happened to us and so many other.
But one truth is that we’re all together.
A silver lining lies between the happenings of our lives.
May we have it in our hearts that life is all about living all the livings, embracing, letting go and moving forward.
May we have it in our hearts that life is not cosmic, we’re all leaving this place either ways. Somehow it makes much sense to live in ease, be kind, hold no grudges and enjoy whatever we have on our plate for now.💙
May we keep learning and ever-glow into all the lights that we can be and shall be, and how beatiful are the lights of all the people around us.
It’s so simple to believe in god if you open your heart an look around. Tuning with the rhymes of all the surrounding beauty.
Through the years, people have come and gone, we as well have come and gone into other’s lives.
And for such and more I’m humbled to feel that this life is beautifully fleeting and so much is yet to be lived and hoped for.
Grateful to the god who’s -at any point- in life:
عليمُ، مطلع بذات الصدور.
And so, in a sense of gratitude there is nothing to worry about.

Safety.. How foreign. "Mr.Heng, I'm pleased to make your acquaintance." How he conducts this exchange is with the skills honed from his homeworld. Professional and apt, to keep the process clear, concise and with as little pitfalls in the effort to actually learn more. It was clear that having this very focus was diverting the worst of his concerns from festering within his emotions. The initial freak out that made him retire into the resting chambers said enough.
A star faring train that finds itself on the tracks of space itself. Even to this day, Thoma didn't have any real thoughts of what hailed beyond the Sky, and in truth the fact that a lot of the constellations tethered to Teyvat weren't glimmering parts of it's tapestry was a bitter truth. All that truly could be felt billowing strong was the force of the Rubeum Scutum, that was one solace he intended to keep an ironclad grip upon.
Hope would find itself momentarily reinvigorated in his eyes at the notice. "I-- You truly wouldn't mind!?" Whether it was a professional's cruelty or their own brand of mercy, the sight of his facial muscles tightening, the following admittance, it was an anchor that found itself tearing from his emotions without little control.
...Centuries?
"Huh.." The fostered strength that kept his steps steady felt as if it was rapidly evaporating into cold reality. For an instant he's stalled, the growing nudge of despair beginning to grow making his body instinctively shiver. A desperate attempt was made by gripping and clamping down upon the muscle of his forearm. "Not accessible..? Just what did that abyss do..?!" That would be his natural assumption about any cut communication. Right now, what's written raw across his features was simply pain.
Someone who really wanted to go back home.
Who was already considering if by the time he ever approaches back to that beautiful land, that everyone he's ever come to know, to fight for.. may be gone.
Thoma's blond locks left a more dismal shadow over his eyes that really didn't want to be witnessed. The hurt found itself leaving a serrated, seething arc across his heart.
"When.. Will it be okay to see those reports? Please may I have a frame of time?"
The elements of the other's clothes were somewhat reminiscent of those on the various ships of the Xianzhou, yet different enough to tell Dan Heng that the blond hailed from different origins. The universe was vast indeed, with branches into infinite possibilities that couldn't even begin to be covered by the data contained with the Archives on the ship.
"Thoma," He echoed, secure enough in ascertaining that the other was being truthful with that brief exchange. Naturally, he would grant him the same honesty in turn. "I am Dan Heng. Your arrival wasn't an expected one and that's why I'm asking you all these questions." To thank the archivist for the reception even though his arrival was awash in solar winds and turbulent landings, he wondered if Thoma's point of origin or prior location was more chaotic than even that. The Express was a place for those who wished for adventure but at the same time, everyone had their own purposes for being here - and he had to wonder what Thoma's center would be.
"You can rest assured that you are safe here." At mention of Teyvat though, he thought about what he had logged during his stay here.
Akivili's journey began as a means to find the endpoint of the Tree of Existance, this much was well recorded and logged. A vast variety of locations and planets had been logged and explored along the path of thus, with rails laid down so that others trekking along the path of the trailblaze might enjoy the plethora of people and cultures along the way. The Aeon's journey had been cut short by an unfortunately accident, one that claimed the being's life though it did not claim the spirit of their followers. Akivili was an Aeon who stayed amongst their people, enjoying conversation and passing achievements together.
Teyvat had been one of those worlds that Akivili had passed through it seemed, but he now recalled the troubling data that might not be what Thoma wanted to hear.
"I have. There's an entry on Teyvat in the Archives, if you so wish to view it later and confirm once I discuss your appearance with the other members here on the Express. However..." He frowned, looking grim. "I'm afraid that your world isn't accessible from the Express. Communications and railways were severed several centuries ago for an unknown reason."

Writing Descriptions, Perseverance, and Other Words of Advice from Legendary Authors
One of the best ways to grow as a writer is to learn from others. Today on the blog, Olga Stal has compiled great advice from 4 legendary authors that will hopefully energize your writing spirits and give you new tools and tricks to try!
Octavia Butler–Read Often, Write Often, and Forget Talent
Octavia Butler was a science fiction author and penned many award winning novels, like Kindred, Patternmaster, and more. She is an example of persistence. In childhood she struggled with dyslexia, but that didn’t stop her from becoming a writer. Here are 3 pieces of advice that she recommends to novice authors in this interview.
“I have advice in just a few words. The first, of course, is to read. It’s surprising how many people think they want to be writers but they don’t really like to read books.”
“Write, every day, whether you like it or not. Screw inspiration.”
“Forget about talent, whether or not you have any. Because it doesn’t really matter. I mean, I have a relative who is extremely gifted musically, but chooses not to play music for a living. It is her pleasure, but it is not for a living. And it could have been. She’s gifted; she’s been doing it ever since she was a small child and everyone has always been impressed with her. On the other hand, I don’t feel I have any particular literary talent at all. It was what I wanted to do, and I followed what I wanted to do, as opposed to getting a job doing something that would make more money, which would make me miserable. This is the advice that I generally give to people who are thinking about becoming writers. It’s certainly not a matter of sitting there and having things fall from the sky.”
Agatha Christie–Writing Gripping Mystery, Writing Descriptions, and Removing Distractions
Secondly, I’ll talk about the queen of mysteries, Agatha Christie, author of the famous Murder on The Orient Express. Her detectives fascinate me because it's hard to guess who the killer is.
How did Agatha create her novels? Work on the novel began with the development of intrigue. Then she inscribed the crime in the interior (in an apartment, house, plane or train), then a detective was connected, then the investigation proceeded in a logical direction. Agatha clearly planned her works down to the smallest detail. Dialogues, interiors, landscapes, descriptions were carefully and meticulously laid out. When she sat down to write, she used the "closed door" technique, leaving all worries and distractions to fully immerse herself in her book.
If you are looking for a great example of precise and vivid descriptions, pick up an Agatha Christie book and take notes on how she does it! Also try the closed door technique and see if it works for you.
Milan Kundera–Writing With Purpose and Philosophy
Milan Kundera is the author of many novels, one being The Unbearable Lightness of Being. In my opinion, Kundera is an example of human resilience. When he was 39, Soviet troops occupied the Czech Republic. His life collapsed. He survived the occupation and emigration. At 46, he had to start all over again. And he started.
While reading his novels, I noticed a few moments.
Notably, his characters are philosophical. Each of them are driven by their ideological beliefs, and think deeply about the philosophical implications of their actions. Kundera doesn’t describe the human body as a perfect, unattainable ideal. The character’s body may have some shortcomings, but the hero does not see those imperfections as inhibiting, limiting, or disappointing.
In his "The Art of the Novel" Milan Kundera outlined several interesting positions:
The writer must show not what he feels;
The plot should revolve around the central theme;
History and philosophy should be presented in doses, to understand the characters and the logic of their actions.
The character should be endowed with a worldview;
It is necessary to write concisely, immediately throw the reader into the story and characters, so that the reader immediately understands the essence of the novel;
Write to survive a moment of ecstasy.
Louise May Alcott–Success When Least Expected
Louise May Alcott is the author of perhaps one of the most iconic novels in Western Literature: Little Women. From the age of seven she kept a diary, where she wrote down about her feelings, impressions, ideas. She kept them, later reread them, found interesting moments, and recycled them in novels and stories. In her early career, she wrote spicy novels to make a living, though she condemned it later on.
Alcott was actually reluctant to write Little Women. She didn't think it was a great idea. She was surprised by its success and critical acclaim. This is a great lesson on believing that what we want may come when we least expect it. Therefore, writers, don’t give up!
As for Alcott's craft, she created interesting, distinct characters. Each of them has its own characteristics, preferences, hobbies, thoughts. They aren’t confused with each other, each of them has a bright persona. She pays a lot of attention to each character. Moreover, women in her works are depicted as strong and creative personalities. Also in her novels, Alcott realistically depicts life.
