Thinking about Achilles again. How he's never black or white.

How he has man-slaying hands and hands that play the lyre, how he's the best warrior (and often seen as the epitome of masculinity) and how he stayed on Skyros dressed as a woman, and he was feminine enough that people believed he was a woman, how he's a blood-thirsty warrior who spent most of the iliad without fighting, by choice, how he's part mortal but also part god, how in the version of the myth where he's dipped in the Styx, he ends up invulnerable, except for his heel, how he started the war as a child, ended it as an adult, and still behaves like a child during the iliad, how he doesn't care about anyone (letting the Achaean warriors die without feeling remorse for an argument he had with Agamemnon) while loving incredibly strongly (avenging Patroklos' death to the extreme), how he makes fun of Patroklos for crying while spending most of the iliad crying himself, how he's feared by Trojans for being ruthless and still, still tried to save Iphigenia so long ago.

He's never full anything, never full mortal, never full god, never fully invencible, never fully masculine, never fully feminine, never fully emotionless, never fully emotional, never fully mature, never fully immature, never fully ruthless, never fully merciful.

He's a combination of greys, never a full black or a full white.

holy shit. THEY WENT THERE. literally every week they keep blowing my mind, this is THEE best show i have ever seen and i am in absolute awe of that writing.

this episode, they followed up a substantial critique of celebrity culture and how it affects people's personal lives by not one but TWO speeches about queer rights (one of which made me cry btw), kawi having to deal with his dad's death which was unavoidable in every timeline, and him finally getting to terms with and honestly telling pisaeng about his feelings.

this whole episode was basically kawi struggling against his own fears because being openly queer means facing hardships he wouldn't have faced being with pear versus pisaeng who is struggling against his mother's homophobia. the fucking LAYERS. you could write an academic paper about this show it's so fucking nuanced and smart, HOLY SHIT.

No bc I used to be OBSESSED with the void state (I don't even like calling it 'void' anymore). To me, it always felt like, this state was some sort of 'instant assurance'. I realized that I didn't trust myself enough. But I don't feel that anymore and it has been so liberating.

Also, I've often heard Edward Art say- say yes to everything in imagination and trust in that 'yes'. And I always used to question, HOW do I actually trust? But now I find myself effortlessly doing so. I'm not looking for any feeling or chasing anything now, it feels peaceful knowing that I AM is all there is. I don't know how this shift happened but everything is starting to click. I still have moments of doubt but it doesn't scare me like it used to. I used to listen to Edward Art over and over again to find what I was doing wrong and it was all from a place of fear. All of that is gone, just like that.

yeah, frfr. i used to ask myself the same question about how to trust, especially from listening to edward's lectures, and the more you persist on this journey, it's inevitable things will start clicking into place. it has to because all you're doing is seeking yourself, and eventually you have to find you because you're all that's here.

i think edward had a video where he talked about man being destined for resurrecting himself as his I AM awareness (not his language, just my best recollection), and i 100% agree with him, which ofc is what ends up manifesting in physical reality.

tom actually shared a really good video yesterday about faith (trust, same thing), and how the faith isn't for god, it's for you. god doesn't need your faith because god already gave you everything through your I AM awareness. we're the ones who need faith so we persist in choosing who we desire to be even without physical signs and evidence.

it's really rewarding when you reach that state of peace because sure, you can keep manifesting thing after thing, but the real prize above all is you knowing yourself as god.
