It was a quiet night, thankfully. Most days on the Victoria were rowdy, overwhelming and drunken, so for it was a blessing in disguse for the night to be so quiet for you. You leaned on the railing of the ship, eyes watching the moon lit waters as a content sigh left you. 'How peaceful,' you thought, bringing your beer to your lips.

You'd just finished your beer when you suddenly heard a shout from behind you, turning from your spot at the railing to see your redheaded Captain stomping his way over to you, a confused but amused grin washing over your face as you asked,

"The hell's wrong with you?"

The second he got close enough, he reached out and flicked you in the forehead with his warm hand. You couldn't dodge in time and yelped at the sudden pain, reaching up to cover the spot as you gave him the finger with your other hand.

"You cocksucker, what the fuck was that for!"

He gave a quick, sharp laugh and yelled back,

"I was standin' over there SHOUTING for you for years, you deaf-ass bitch!"

Your eyes narrowed as an even more confused expression came over you, your tone annoyed and accusing as you bit back,

"Oi! It's not that I'm deaf, I was just zoned out - AND besides the point! Why didn't you just come over here instead of shouting at me like a fucking child?!"

He gave you the finger and barked back,

"Fuck you, you were ignorin' me and I don't appreciate that shit!"

It took you a moment to collect yourself but after a few breaths, realization kicked in as you asked,

"You seriously thought I was ignoring you? Kid... come on man."

Your Captain also took a moment, crossing his mismatched arms over his chest as he huffed. He watched you the entire time, watching as you fiddled with your empty bottle and finally spoke when your gaze softened.

"Uh... yeah? I was fuckin' screamin', Y/N."

You ran a nervous hand over your face and sighed, giving a slight nod as you accepted your fault.

"I'm sorry Captain. I really was just so into the silence that I just... tuned everything else out."

You glanced up at him with a tight smile, hoping he could see how genuine your apology was.

"...Forgive me?"

He scowled at you for a good few minutes, your heart pounding in your chest as an uneasy feeling came over you, your smile twitching as you wondered if he was actually mad enough to keep yelling or if he'd stomp away like a child like he usually did when you fought.

Surprisingly, when he did neither, your anxiety washed away with a sigh through your nose, grinning at his response of,

"Ah, I uh - I'm sorry, you brat. I just, I want your fuckin' attention, and it pisses me right the fuck off when I don't get it."

You couldn't help but give a soft "aww, Eustass..." as you closed the space between you, wrapping your arms around his middle and squishing your face to his chest as his arms wrapped around you warmly. You hugged him tight for a moment before pulling away to look up at him, your eyes bright and honest as you reminded him,

"You know you always have my attention. Sometimes though, it takes more than words to grab it but that's not your fault, it's mine. It's hard to pay attention to anything outwards when you're so... inwards, I guess." Your words grew soft by the end, a small frown on your lips. It was hard to explain but judging by how Kid was staring down at you, you had a feeling he understood to an extent.

"I'm sorry, lover. How can I make it up to you?"

His eyes suddenly glinted with mischief at your words, his hands moving down to cup your ass tightly, pulling a surprised "Oi!" from you as he almost purred out,

"You can apologize on your knees."

Your body vibrated at his words, pupils blowing wide as your breath catches in your throat. This was the man you loved, the one to take charge and tell you exactly what he wanted and how. You must have had a look on your face because that stupid, shit eating grin he always wore when he won something slid over his features in an instant.

"Sound good, lover?"

His tone was mocking as he said the word, his fleshy fingers gripping at you with an intensity the fueled the fire inside you.

"Y-yeah, sounds good."

The next thing your mind registers is the soft bed in the Captains room, his warm mouth nipping and devouring you from the outside in. You're both naked, hands roaming over skin as his name falls from your lips as you consume each other, body heart and soul.

His eyes are so gentle as he presses into you, his warm hand cupping your cheek as you hiss at the sudden filling pain, the sound turning to a soft moan as you shift your hips to grind against his.

The way he breathes out your name, pressing the softest kisses to your face and neck as he takes you, your heart overflowing with love for him as it hit you that this was his way of apologizing. Words were never his strong point but his actions more than made up for the lack of verbal communication. Though he teased that you were the one to apologize, he felt he needed to prove that he could accept his faults and be better, for you.

While you had yet to put a label on what you two had, this moment solidified your already immovable loyalty to him as you poured your heart out to him, sobbing into his shoulder as he murmured sweet nothings into your ear. Tears stained his skin as he thrusted into you, hoping to prove to you that he loved you more than anything.

Your foreheads met as you both began to reach the edge, your gaze warm and loving as he kissed you, his lips wordlessly whispering his unashamed adoration to you. He wiped away your tears before gripping your hips tightly, flesh and metal biting into your skin and sending your senses to heaven as you tumbled over the edge, sobbing out his name as your fingers gripped into his shoulders and back.

"Such a beautiful girl, my perfect girl, I love you, God you're so beautiful,"

His words fell from him like the softest prayer you'd ever heard, feeling like your hands would never be big enough to hold all the love he had for you in your palms. You clung to each other as he sloppily thrusted up into you, bringing you closer to a second orgasm as he chased his own high.

Your name met your ears multiple times in a hurried whisper, Kids lips pressing hotly to your collarbone as he jutted into you a few more times, groaning loudly into your bitten and bruised skin. You came with him, your eyes rolling back as you pressed mindless kisses to his shoulder.

The silence was heavy and thick, though comfortable, as you both sat in each others arms, neither of you willing to be the first to move. His thumbs pressed small circles in your hips, his lips pressing into your throat softly, moving up until he took your lips in his. You could feel him shaking and your heart felt like bursting, his energy almost suffocating you with all his unspoken emotions.

It was a while before he finally spoke, his voice the softest you'd ever heard as he asked,

"Did I hurt you?"

You smiled so gently, your expression warm and loving as you responded just as softly,

"No, my love."

His expression brightened at your words, looking like a kid in a candy store as his heart did backflips in his chest. He said nothing, only pulling you back to kiss you deeply, his soft hand tangling into your hair as his metal one remained on your hip.

You both only moved when sleep came knocking. Tucking you into him, he curled around you like a warm cage, desperate to protect you from the outside world. You caved into him, feeling the safest you'd felt in a very long time, knowing in your heart this was where home was.

It wasn't long til you could hear Kid breathing softly, exhaustion slowly overtaking you as your lips pressed soft kisses to whatever skin you could reach. As the darkness overcame you, you swore you heard him murmur,

"I'm gunna marry your crazy ass one day."

But you told yourself that your imagination was just playing tricks, unknowing that his tired eyes watched as you pressed into him as you finally drifted away.

In that moment, Eustass Kid felt like king of the world.

For the first time in his life, he finally felt like he had everything.

❥ fic I loved writing the most

this will always be dependent on when you ask me, because right now it will have to be Amethyst. If y'all haven't noticed, my newest love is Leon Kennedy, and writing for him is so much easier than writing for Levi and I think it's because I understand Leon's personality more. He's just so fun to riff off of. Not that Levi wasn't!! He was just harder to put down for me, I guess. ANWAYS. I loved writing for Leon and I'm working on a part two!!

❥ fic others loved that I didn't care for

okay so this might come as a surprise because it's my ultimate comfort fic, but it would have to be Sunrise. tbh, I don't know what loved the most means here but I'll equate it to notes. Sunrise is precious to me because it holds so many of my favorite things. BUT I really feel like I could have done so much better. The plot is there, the scenario and surroundings are perfect. but the WRITING?? I could have done better. don't get me wrong though, I still love it and I am very happy so many people liked it!!

❥ fic I had fun writing

definitely my For You, I Would fic. I don't have very many Armin fics but I enjoyed writing for him a lot because he's just such a shy little bean and so full of wonder and love. I could really see myself wanting to take him out on a date. This was also a request for my friend Tay and it was fun catering her interests within the story and how it works well with Armin!!

❥ fic I'm most proud of

for sure it would have to be Unspoken Words. I'm proud because it was the first time I've written something for myself in a long time. I didn't think I would care as much about fanfic until I fell in love with AoT, now look at me LMAO. UW helped me become a better writer as well as be more confident in areas I thought I lacked. I quite literally used it as a way to be better, and I'll always be proud of it. My first ever full and finished fic, I'll never forget it <3

❥ fic I wish got more recognition

probably Can I Go Where You Go? mainly because I really liked writing the semi plot twist at the end. like if you were caught up with season 4 of AoT, you would know what I was alluding to and it's like a kick in the gut LMAO. but also I thought I did pretty well with the descriptors, not to brag ofc. :3

❥ my happiest/saddest/most comedic fic

I SPENT 30 MINUTES LOOKING FOR THIS. but the saddest will have to be this short drabble about Levi losing you in an expedition and him coming to your old room, reminiscing. I don't know what brought it on but I was like, huh. let's just be SAD.

Full disclosure, the idea for this wip was inspired by two one-shots that I obsessed over around the same time :

I'm a little bit terrified by tagging the authors since I haven't asked for permission to post work inspired by what they did yet, but I don't want to do anything in their back jnezjnejnez so :

Hi ! If you see that, you both have had wonderful ideas that inspired me to write something that is becoming a massive project of mine ! I am talking about it because I got asked about my wips, but if you're not okay with me posting the actual fic, I'd be fine keeping it to myself :)

In both these fics, Legend, Twilight and Wind know each other from the adventure they shared during Triforce heroes, except when they're brought together for Linked Universe, Twilight and Wind don't recognize Legend. He changed too much, he lost too many people and is now unrecognizable from the kid that he was during Triforce heroes.

In And there are ten, though, there's a twist : A tenth hero arrives, and... It's this younger version of Legend, that Wind and Twilight of course recognize this time !

Basically, this wip takes the scenario from And there are ten, but with the background story from Hiding behind Plaster and Ceramics : no one stayed in Legend's life and he is traumatized by partings, so he decides to be cold and rude with the others in order not to get attached and not suffer when they inevitably have to separate.

Except, after a few weeks of travelling, a new portal appear, and Apple, a younger version of himself, comes out of it... And obviously, this time, Twilight and Wind recognizes him, and everyone is protective of him since he's the youngest one here, and though Legend decided himself that he'd be mean on purpose so that no one cares about him, the comparison between how they act towards Apple and towards him makes him very bitter.

You can guess, with how I talked about liking to write about healing and stuff, that it's going to get worse before it gets better.

This was supposed to be a little something that I wrote for myself, just because I craved more for these ideas, and then I talked about it to @sweeteastart, and... They were so invested ? Like full-on asking me questions and if they could read it and stuff, and I just realized, yeah, it's starting to become a good story, I should try to flesh it out !

hmmm humour, pacing, dialogue, and I guess world-building? I don't find world-building in original works easy, but I do love it when you're working with pre-existing ingredients.

what are your writing weaknesses?

all the words that happen between the dialogue lmao. sometimes I can turn a phrase nicely and go "wow those were some good words," but most of the time I'm like "oh jeez that's the seventh time he's sighed/gazed earnestly/scratched the back of his neck in the last five paragraphs." I think sometimes I also rush important moments bc I can't be fucked to come up with the prose for it.

what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I'd probably feel more confident doing that if I spoke any other languges :(

My personal rankings of every levels (including bosses) in Antonblast, an indie game I finished about a week ago, and my personal favorite game of the year.

I know some takes here aren't gonna be very loved buuut I don't really give a fuck! Cuz it's my opinions, if you wanna fight me about 'em, comments are here, but you probably won't cuz let's be honest who's gonna see this post? Anyways just in case you can't read the level's name here they are with a ranking out of 10:

Meh...:

Vs. TallBuster. (5/10 very mediocre boss fight, not bad but not good either.)

Good:

Crimson Factory. (7/10, I often forget this one exists, loved the HAPPY HOUR and music for this one, but everything else was meh)

The Mysterious Glass House. (7.5/10 this would be an easy Great! Tier if it wasn't so damn long, the level is just really annoying to get through, the platforming though, absolute S tier some of the best in the game.)

Great!:

Boiler City. (very sorry for the shitty take lmao, I still love this level though the music is absolutly FANTASTIC, and the HAPPY HOUR with the BossBusters chasing you for half of it destroying the city was such an amazing introduction to the HAPPY HOUR concepte, 8/10)

The Big Beth. (The horror level, I love this one because instead of having something chasing you it's just very eerie and lonely, strikes the perfect balance between not taking itself seriously and uneasy, such a fun level with an amazing HAPPY HOUR, that fake out got my heart racing, 8/10)

Vs. BrawlBuster. (8/10 very fun to replay because of how traditional it is, it could be a Rayman Legend boss fight actually, I'd see it!)

Vs. The Jewel Ghoul. (8/10 if BrawlBuster is a Rayman Legend boss fight, this one is a Rayman 1 boss fight I love everything about this boss, the music is absolutly banging, the attacks are tricky but not unfair, and that last part where you just shoot Jewel Ghoul for no fucking reasons, so much personality in that fight, loved it.)

Hell's Manor (my biggest hot take, If I was ranking these based on first impression it would be S tier, but alas 100%'ing this level made me love it a lot less, 8/10)

Slowroast Sewers (8.5/10... Genuinely don't know why it's so high... It's just really fun I guess, with one of the best osts in the game, and one of the best HAPPY HOURs in the game, solid level.)

Vs. MaulBuster (8.5/10, the concepte of her not actually wanting to fight you, but just do a play, while you ruin everything and she gets angry is just so funny to me, not as replayable as the rest but very fun anyways and got a good laugh out of me.)

Vs. Freako Dragon (8.5/10 THAT'S IT, YOU'RE GOING TO BRAZIL.)

Vs. SmallBuster (8.5/10 Such an original boss fight, it's more of a show than a fight because it's by far the easiest part of the game to me, but my god everything about this fight is funny, and Small's design is adorable too, by far my favorite of the Busters in terms of design, personality, and fight, I would still give best gameplay to Brawl but eh whatever bias.)

Bomb Candy Mines (8.5/10 just fun, fun gimmick with the bomb transformation, one of my favorites in the game, fun escape sequence with acid coming out of the walls you gotta out run, fun music for both parts of the level, fun everything, me love this one way too much.)

The Mad Mall (yes, this level isn't that hard you just have to get good I 100%'ed it on my 2nd playthrough of it, 9/10)

S tier:

Cinnamon Springs. (9/10 just like Bomb Candy Mines, fun everything, excepte even more fun, with a bigger focus on platforming and spectacle like when you destroy a fucking temple cuz you just wanna be a Dick, or when you ruin Greg's vacation, this felt like a Crash Bandicoot level almost, so that can only mean I'll love it lmao.)

Vs. Satan (9.5/10 GOODNESS. One of the best finale I have ever had the honor to play, my 2nd favorite music in the game for sure, Satan's personality is incredible and so is it's Amazing voice acting, all phases were challenging but not unfair at all and very fun and creative, not to mention you feel like an absolute monster for most of the fight, yeah, banger.)

Devilled Garden (9.5/10 best music in the game, idle hands down, and the level delivers as well, helping a demon rebel agaisn't Satan, not cuz he wants to overtake hell or is sick of it, but because he wants to fucking throw a party is hilarious, everything he asks you to do is fun (the clock part may be a bit slow but I still enjoyed it) and the escape sequence gives you such a fucking boost of ego with the mech suit out of nowhere, absolute masterpiece of a level.)

Vs. Ring a Ding (10/10, best boss just for the sheer surprise of the third phase, what can I say it's a monkey brain reaction: me see biblicaly accurate angel, me happy, the music on the last phase is absolutly incredible that solo makes you feel things in places you didn't even know you could feel, and then you just pull a Mario and Luigi move by just countering the Moon of all things, yeah one of the best boss fights I'v played personaly.)

Pinball Mire (10/10 the music... THE MUSIC, the 2nd half of the level has the third best song in the game, my god and the pinball mechanic? I usually am not a fan of Pinball in general especially in a level that stops you and forces you to play Pinball that's just boring, you could make the argument that this one does the same but the Pinball Gimmick is also used in platforming to do a Spindash like in classic Sonic, and thé Pinball sections are very very fun and quick if you know what you're doing, even on my first playthrough I didn't spend more than 4 minutes on any (excepte the one before HAPPY HOUR, it's a bit long but not the end of the world, all and all, a magnificent level.)

Concrete Jungle (10/10 AAAAAAHAAAAAAAHAAA, This... This... This Is everything, EVERYTHING I WANT IN A PLATEFORMER, fun, gimmicks are way too well fused together and never feel overwhelming when stacked on each others, the musics, all three of them, are bangers, with the third one being oddly nostalgic, actually the whole level has a nostalgic vibe to it, probably cuz I grew up in a city that actually really resembles this level so there's an strange feeling of comfort when I play it, it's strange, also you get to light the whole city on fire so 10/10 LMAOOOO, but yeah one of the best levels I have ever played in a platformer, masterpiece isn't good enough of a word to describe it, also these monke are some of my favorite charachters in the entire game, like third favorite charachter, they're cute and just have a cool Vibe)

No, babe, they're not. Recognize your own hard work and value plz.

I honestly don't think I have one. Like yes I get intense hyperfixations and certain ships will be ALL I think about in the time, but that doesn't make them my favorite ever? My current fixation is edgreed tho lmao.

Probably that one yunmeng prides fic i've got sitting at a pretty 16k in my drive LMAO. I just hit an awful wall with it and I KNOW I'll never have the energy to pick up from the point I left off. I'd have to rewrite the entire thing and... yeah, no.

Emotional moments!!! I'd like to think I have a way with handling Big Emotions and the build-up that leads to them exploding! I've also been told a lot over the years that I'm pretty good at getting into my characters' heads, both the good and the bad 👀

Action. Fucking ACTION, my god. Loathe that shit from the DEPTHS of my bones. Don't be fooled by my semi-decent results in fics, the actual process that's gone into any action scene ever has always been LITERAL HELL, SO MANY DRAFTS, TOO MANY FUCKING DRAFTS. If I could take action out back and shoot it, I would :)

For the love of fucking god, if you're gonna write ENTIRE dialogue and not just one line, do your goddamn research. DON'T JUST GOOGLE TRANSLATE THAT SHIT. IF YOU CAN'T EVEN BE BOTHERED TO SEE IF THE SENTENCE IS CORRECT THEN AT THAT POINT JUST WRITE IT IN ENGLISH AND SAY "HE SAID IN [LANGUAGE]". IT'S ESP ATROCIOUS WITH NON-LATIN-BASED LANGUAGES LIKE ARABIC (LOOKING AT YOU FUCKING ISHVALAN AUS).

(Edward Elric would NOT speak in perfect fancy-ass formal dialect, that nobody native actually fucking uses either??? He'd have the most EGYPTIAN ASS DIALECT. Hell, I'll take Jordanian too!)

9/10 times, we can TELL it's google translate, okay. It's stiff and formal and translates LITERALLY rather than contextually. And half the time it's also just fucking wrong. uhhh I have a couple unfinished fics that didn't get the chance to have a happy ending, but all my (completed) published fics on ao3 have a happy ending cause I'm a sucker for those <3

I'd say it's Zoommates. I wrote it in 2020 to (also) deal with the covid situation and used a lot of real life things that were happening to me/friends etc and made sure to keep the ending really nice and hopeful.

hmmm that's a hard one, I'm not sure I could decide. I've written zosan fic in the year 2009 and then came back to them 15 years later.. jon and martin will also forever mean so much to me. and funnily enough, the number combination 36 still does something to my heart. the warblers fandom really took nick and jeff and made these two our own.

what's the wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

there's a wesper (six of crows) fic sitting in my drafts that I actually really liked but I never really got into the fandom after watching the netflix show and so I abandoned it :(

what are your writing strengths?

I think I'm not too bad with characterisation and subtly including heavier subjects (like grief, loneliness etc) while keeping the story fun. I also like writing dialogue.

what are your writing weaknesses?

English not being my first language!!!!!! I get really insecure about it, especially when it comes to grammar and punctuation. I also spend a lot of time translating and re-translating words just to make sure I get them right. I haven't written anything in German (for fun) in years but I'd be curious to see how that writing process would look like. I also like to include the same tropes in like.. all my stories... I can't help it oops

first fandom you wrote for?

Naruto. I wrote an unfinished 20k OC/Sasuke fic when I was 13. I'm pretty sure I wrote most of it by hand and then typed it out on once I got my own laptop. I still have the file somewhere... it's by no means good but I think it might not be the worst thing ever written.

favourite fic you've ever written?

I think I had the most fun writing one good honest kiss and in this light. I let myself be very self-indulgent with both of these oneshots. both have a similar vibe, misunderstandings and some angst with eventual smut.

Zoommates is the one I'm still most proud of. I'd never written such a long fic before and it continues to be my longest to this day (although my latest zosan slowburn green (like hope) might be catching up with it soon..)

Congratz on finishing the crossover special! It was a wonderfully slobby ride. Popcorn with both real and fake butter sounds so in line with Slob City culinary arts, I bet that many other slob citizens who bothered to watch the fight in person were munching on various other snacks as well.

On the topic of Jupiter/Gas Giant, seeing his new gross state was great. I guess being kept as the Corruptor's pet slob instead of needing to occasionally fight clean villians lets him build up a nastier stank/bulk. What does he think of becoming a gross villian though? Or is he just too lazy to bother with morality anymore?

Piglet's gadgets continue to be fun, though I wonder how he managed to get Mentos inside a sealed can. More importantly (to slobs), how much of a mess did he make doing so :P ?

Hamish not bothering to look up from his phone was a fun touch, and helped link to Lee's speech later on about slobs just wanting to do what they want. A tad cheesy, but it fits for a superhero segment.

Finally, my favourite part of the story. The ending being a super slobbification ray that slobbifies the world has been a personal slob fantasy of mine for years, so it was incredible reading it be set as the solution and hopefully next story you tackle. I imagine the beam washes over the world before lingering in the sky as a faint gross tinge until the new unhygienic state of the world replaces it with new stank clouds.

Also, a few scenes idea for the slobbification beam as it travels the land:

A parent lecturing their young adult child about the messy state of their room -> The lecture turning into one about how clean their room is.

Etiquette workshop held for college students/young adults -> Workshop for unlearning manners/Learning how to be gross and vulgar

A fit friend finally convincing their lazier chubbier friend to exercise more -> The lazy friend finally getting their fit friend to ditch the gym

Justin (the alter ego of Gas Giant) had a particularly strong dose of the ray's power and while it was still in its experimental stages. This, combined with the fact the Corruptor has been actively working to make him more mindless (for a situation like the one in this story. You never know when you might need a giant blob to attack your enemy) means yeah, he's got pretty much no thoughts in his head except wanting to eat (and so on). I'll correct you though: he never really fought 'clean' villains (perhaps you're mixing him up with Slobguy). Jupiter mostly fought the Corruptor and occasional regular villains and threats (typical superhero stuff). But yeah, he's been sitting in (essentially) a pigsty and left to just eat and roll around in his own filth.

That mentos thing was a typo: I realised that'd be impossible and so changed it to be a bottle but then forgot to change the rest of the descriptions so at one point it's a bottle, the next it's a can. I fixed it now though.

Lee's speech was initially going to go to the Piglet, but then I thought Lee should get the honour, being from my first story and all. I kinda rushed the speech because I wanted to get to the ending so yeah it was very much just fluff.

And, as you can see, the ending was well worth it. I knew you'd like it and I'm glad I was right.

But yeah, a slobbified world has been a fantasy since I was a kid so I totally get you.

I'd say more but I want to save my ideas for when I make a story using it.

I think I need to review my ideas because I've got a few that are sort of in asks and posts on here and others saved with my writing on my usb. I need to look at them all together and weigh them up.

I've got too many good ideas... on the one hand it feels like a herculean task but on the other I'm excited to write them all and explore the ideas.

I am sorely tempted to do the slob world one but I am not sure. The issue with that one is that it becomes very hard to get a proper story because everyone's already happy and slobby so there's no conflict. It'd mostly just be the MC exploring the world and seeing the changes and I guess it'll just end whenever or I can just add more to it as I wish. That's kind of appealing because it lets me leave it 'unfinished' without pressure to get to the conclusion.

Also pleeeeeease tell me more of your thoughts about the slobbification beam and its effects!! I love these ideas and I want to hear more!

Yeah. It's basically why I'm thinking of lessening my inputs in some art communities. So many of the people in Discord alone are very touchy when it comes to receiving criticism over webcomics and even art. 

The last server I was on banned me for basically talking about how the owner of a server's art piece would probably improve if they go back and finish it. All I got was a response that amounted to "shut the fuck up! Let the artist do what they want" with the artist/owner pointing up to it in agreement when they were the ones who asked for an opinion. Always treating me like I'm a negative user and a whale (basically meaning a person who consumes a lot of media and treating it like it's a part of the conversation). 

Generally speaking, webcomic servers are just terrible places. Like all of them just run on echo chamber energy. Sure you can say that about social media sites, but forums and especially Discord servers have it worse to me. Like the times I keep getting vague answers on comics that seemingly have no directions and all the artist does it post sarcastically smug emojis over the questions while saying things like "that's an interesting idea" or "Ooo! Maybe. Guess you got to keep reading". No real engagement. Just garbage responses.

Or one time when I tried to ask a simple question about a flaw in a character or even story that I didn't like how it was written, and the author spent time divulging their character's bio and how story writing works without actually engaging with me and answering what I just asked. Acting like I didn't read or understood the story/intentions. You know, before blocking me on almost all accounts. Furaffinity, Twitter, Tumblr, ect. ect. Just a waste of time, especially mine.

That's one of the things you're wrong about, GW dude. It doesn't matter if they're a big shot or not. As long as an artist/person has AN AUDIENCE they're all the same. Just borderline insecure and most times arrogant people who really have a specific audience in mind that will take the good and the bad, not say anything about either, and put users down if they didn't like what they said.

That is unfortunate and irritating to hear and I don't know if it's the internet that caused this or does popularity really go into people's heads. This reminds me of the anon who came here like a month ago to tell me to critique Marvel movies instead of webcomics. I think they might have been a webcomic artist who comes from that exact mindset. These people also need an example of what a negative person is. Go on Twitter, and I am not naming names but certain users who spend their whole timeline shitting on shit. Those people give me the idea they are very hard to be around. Likely nicest thing they can say about something is "looks like shit lmao". I know you've critiqued me as well and I don't get the idea you're inherently a negative person. I do take everything you say to heart and if I say something stupid you're not afraid of saying it to my face. You don't go on twitter or some grassy forum to crop my statement and go "THIS PERSON IS CLUELESS! FUCK HIM!". That's being a dick. I guess the inability to handle criticism is just something that's very common in indie scene, like gaining an audience is the worst possible thing that could happen to you as a creator. I don't think you should give up. Webcomics already have a ruined reputation and it's not the fault of webcomic critics but the webcomic creators for being so shallow, self-centered and pardon my french, fucking delusional.

HI OMG I'M SO PROUD <:DDD i'm looking forward to your fics, and as for tips, here's some i hope would be helpful :DD

write what you know/are familiar with most to start. writing can start to feel more fun, in my experience, when you're writing about things you understand or (also like me) are delulu and imagine a lot about :D

don't hinder your imagination if it serves the plot. fantasizing about where your plot will go is actually super helpful, and very fun! i do recommend not to add fillers though if they don't have any impact on the story, like side plots that go nowhere or random dialogue that doesn't serve any purpose to further the story or the characters' motivations ^^

liven your vocabulary. like many other authors here, i find it generally more pleasing to have more unique and plentiful ways on how to describe a characters' actions or thoughts, even describing parts on a character can be worded in longer or more unique ways! don't confuse it too much though, and i suggest not to use the same word twice when it's just been mentioned--maybe after a paragraph or two can you mention it again ^^

develop your style. like in art, writers have their own styles of writing, for example, mine is usually very descriptive and thought-provoking (wow ang yabang ni ate girl) and usually, i'll focus on the dialogue and description of the situation and story, so generally, my works are a little longer than i expect them to be ^^ you don't have to copy other writers' styles to get better though, what you can do is draw inspiration from them and ask yourself 'what is it i want my story to have?' you can try experimenting with dialogue, scenery descriptions, character descriptions, flashbacks, narration--keep trying, and you'll get to where you want to be eventually :DD

ask for feedback. this is one of the most important tips i have, because reaching out to a bigger audience about your work will help you see where your strengths and weaknesses lie. getting opinions from other people can help you accommodate many others into your works, too, through their suggestions and criticisms ^^

take breaks. this, i struggle with, so i'm kind of hypocritical for suggesting this :'D but if you ever feel like you're stuck in a certain point in the story or that you have to rush to post a story, please don't force yourself to finish it and rush, you might have a lot of regrets about the final product 😭😭😭take time to think about yourself first, then your story <:)

i don't love it and i usually limit mine to only a couple of words (say, nicknames/terms of endearment in piarles' case), but i don't mind it in other people's fics tbh!!

oh god i kept sleeping the whole day away on and off this fic really drained me and now i'm literally done with it i feel so empty. (if you dont know what im talking about, final part to ghost to its haunt is out)

like moth to a flame (as a series) is the first project i've completed EVER and i'm feeling so great (even though half of it was shameless porn) but also it's done now and idk what to do with myself hhhhh

no joke i've written a whole novel. the minimum words for a novel is 50K and:

More blabbering thoughts below the cut for the final huzzah (i am giving this fic a send off after all. ur getting a huge author's note)

moth to a flame was the first leonxreader fic i'd written and no joke, my first smut too. looking back i was really writing it for ME lmao, practicing and playing around with leon's character and everything.

i am lucky to have it blow up this much (thanks to that one tiktok account who recommended fics you have my heart) because it t came out relatively early like right after re4r release. i received incredible comments on it. like PARAGRAPHS and whole essays picking it apart and appreciating the details and i never got around to answering any of that because i didn't feel deserving of that kind of praise. I've never gotten attention like that before and i felt unworthy of it? I didnt feel it was anything special, leon isnt a new character there are better works out there,

but i get that fics for re4r leon were being put out SLOWLY and mine just happened to be on the better side of the spectrum since i started working on it way before march when the remake came out and had months to revise and edit, so that's why it's much more superior to lamb to the slaughter and ghost to its haunt which are dopamine-fueled, weeks-old projects barely beta-read basically running on concentrated inspiration (and i've been dealing with cholecystitis for months waiting for surgery through it all. so it's really been a roller-coaster ride) 

to this day i have no idea why both ended up to be 25K words each dude 😭 i just wanted there to be a story i guess? like, when people said they wanted more in mtaf's comments i just wanted to deliver a decent plot and have a strong background on how the reader had ended up in a situation like that with leon, and things just branched out from there.

i took so much time on them because I FREAKED OUT over it being slightly popular. you guys know. lmao . its all i talked about on ltts notes BSDSJDS

by the time they came out though, attention and interest had fizzled out majorly, like, anons who were begging for a sequel did not come back after ltts dropped I CLEARLY remember (after getting what they wanted from me) AHAHAH but i did deliberately shoot myself in the leg with that one, i am AWFUL with expectations, so it was between "what the hell, let's go low-ER" and "let's go out with a bang"

i think i did get back on track A BIT with ghost to its haunt, but still, it's its own thing, you know? i did say it'd be a good ending, so it has a good ending... in moth to a flame standards.

this series ended up to be a choose your adventure type of story. it's up to you how it ends. if you like angst, just accept it ends with moth to a flame and reader and leon are done and go their separate ways. if you don't want to settle with that and want the story to continue, you have a dark romance with a doomed ending with lamb to the slaughter; and if you like a kinda hurt/comfort fluffy bittersweet conclusion instead, ghost to its haunt is for you.

So yeah. It's really over.

4. what was the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person?

Tbh I don't have a last straw anymore. I use and abuse the block button liberally. If I see an annoying opinion, I block. Sometimes, I don't even finish reading the post because you usually can tell it's rancid from the first 2 lines.

I've blocked half a fandom at this point bc of the constant negativity. I simply don't care anymore. I'm here to have fun. If you take personal offense to that then that's your problem not mine.

7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

Alngksgnw as you're said hate IS a strong word and I don't hate characters really unless there is a good reason for me to hate them.

So when I say I began to dislike Dorian Pavus after seeing how the fandom acted towards him, I don't hate him. I guess I do find him fascinating and relatable to an extent but I also don't think he's written perfectly as some people act like he is. Revisiting Dorian's quest as an adult with a fully developed brain and way more comfortable about my own queerness made me realize that I dislike how Dorian didn't really have agency whether to reconcile with his father or not. I know it's the point of The game to have a choice but Idk a bit more dialogue about the choice could've easily solved that problem for me.

I also have issues with Dorian's Indian coding lmao and have since felt like I was duped. It just feels like a cop-out? Like Gaider and team knew about the complaints people have about his comments wrt Asians in Thedas so they made him Asian—only mentioning it in a forum post or Twitter I think 🫠 so to this day ive seen people still surprised that he's Asian—without considering how to code him as Indian in the game.

Things like his clothing having some influences from the cultures in India or family structures and mannerisms. I mean it could be as simple as Indian coding the people of Quarinus so you don't just have this one Indian coded family in the entirety of Thedas. The Alexiuses could've also been Indian coded.

(An aside there's more layers to this like the unfortunate implications of coding a group of people who own slaves as poc but I could write a whole post about Dragon Age's attempts of trying to put Asians in this game)

Anyway, that's canon lol. Fandom makes this all worse. I could just point at the Orientalist depictions of Dorian in fanart and just end it here but nope it goes deeper. Somehow, Dorian attracted the worst kind of fandom. Like the Solas and Cullen stans maybe louder but I was there Gandalf. I was in the trenches. People were forming cliques around this one BNF and their friends. I was in the clique and it was all good until Tresspasser dropped.

You see this clique hated that Tresspasser ended with Dorian and the Inquisitor being in an LDR—because Dorian was off trying to fix a country—to the point where some of them acted like they broke up. Hello? Okay 1) That is such a poor reading on long distance relationships 2) Dorian...got a phone crystal for the Inquisitor, u know a tech that didn't exist in Thedas so they can stay in touch.

It also isn't enough that they didn't like it. Others have to Not like it as well. I remember talking to the BNF about my Inquisitor and Dorian, how they stayed in touch as Dorian was y'know trying to fix a country and the BNF told me that it was a depressing situation for my Inquisitor and Dorian...even though it isn't and they're perfectly happy.

(An side, not from this clique but I wouldnt be surprised if some of them also held this opinion but I saw some accusations from folks that Bioware is homophobic because Dorian and the Inquisitor are in an LDR. This is how batshit this fandom is).

Anyway, to keep it short, I was 19-20 when all of this happened. I probably said some stupid shit around that time but I should tell you these people were in their late 20s to early 30s. They were affected by a 19-20 year old with just a handful of followers saying stupid shit. They were so affected by the barely adult saying stupid shit that one of them stalked me, vagueposted about me and when I found out they were vagueposting about me, proceeded to gaslight me and told me I was the one stalking them. :)

Not only that, they also harassed one of my friends to not posting their fics ever again, harrassed a friend of a friend for trying to steal the BNF's spotlight 🙄. Come on some of you have fucking children.

I don't think I could look at Dorian in the same way which is a shame because for a time he was important to me but like God, it was rough.

I also have not forgotten nor forgave :) hence why I have the studio behind that chorus game or whatever it's called now blocked :) and would not be playing it. Do not care if David Gaider is the one writing it. I mean he kinda was the weakest link in that writing team imo (and I also hate his prose).
