@enderfore replied to your post “What do you think of Rook's savanaclaw card? <333”:
Chenya pic where???? I can barely see anything in that room there so much going on, rooks such a lil freak (affectionatr)
he's under the row of flags on Neige's side of the room, next to the big Neige poster with the yellow background (look just to the right of the hand holding the apple)! he's REAL little; once you know he's there you can kind of see him in-game, but I only noticed him in the first place because I took a screenshot and was having fun zooming in on all the details!
I think that's either Hop or Snick and Dominic on either side of Neige, but if the others are meant to be anyone in particular I don't recognize 'em. though I do love all the absolutely terrifying implications of Rook having this. was this some kind of officially-published merchandise (and if so, why) or did Rook like...go hunting through the RSA trash to find this random student lineup just because it included Neige, and has had it hanging proudly on the wall ever since. (I mean, he definitely did do this, I don't know why I'm asking. the real question is why he hasn't cut out little pictures of his own face and stuck them over everyone else's yet.)
there is seriously SO MUCH in this room. how did Rook manage to keep this hidden for three years. also, somebody give this background artist a raise immediately.
#screenshot#twisted wonderland#twisted wonderland spoilers#twisted wonderland episode 7 spoilers#twisted wonderland book 7 spoilers#twisted wonderland episode 7 part 8 spoilers#twisted wonderland book 7 part 8 spoilers#this just in: the savanaboys are canonically very respectful of each other's privacy and right to their own personal space#the other option is that no one actually wants to see why rook is always so desperate to keep people out of his room#but these are not mutually exclusive! leona respects your boundaries through genuinely not giving a shit. ⭐️#god. rook's room really was somehow exactly what i expected but also so much more than i could have ever imagined.#the literal divide down the center including his BEDSHEETS AND PILLOW#do you think rook makes sure to sleep precisely down to the mm in the center of his bed each night what am i saying of course he does#he has also probably trained his eyes to move independently so he can look at both of the hanging posters above his bed at once#savanarook really was such a treasure. i shall miss him.#(i have also decided based on basically nothing that because there's a banner with vil's unique magic name on it)#(and the corresponding banner for neige says '[someday my] prince will come')#(that i'm going to headcanon this as being neige's unique magic. i must know what it does. the possibilities are TANTALIZING)

[ID: Panels from chapter 101 of the Natsume's Book of Friends manga. Natsume thanks Natori and Matoba for coming to rescue him and Nyanko-sensei. Natori's serious but unsurprised expression remains unchanged over three panels. Matoba's lips are slightly parted, and in the second panel he says, "Huh…?" /end ID]
the contrast in reactions between natori and matoba...matoba and his little taken aback "what the hell am i supposed to do with this bid for human connection" face that i hold so dear. idk what's going on with natori exactly but my guess is he's just. really scared for natsume. he must have been, to have gone to get matoba. natsume doesn't get natori's affectionately indulgent look until after the danger has passed. natori's gotta get his game face on.
#matoba gets a couple of affectionately indulgent looks from natori though. at least two#once when natori is telling natsume that matoba always liked cats (he's talking to natsume but looking at matoba)#and once when natori shows up to save matoba's ass and says 'i was trying to help actually'#WE GET IT. YOU CARE HIM.#natsume's book of friends#natsume yuujinchou#natori shuuichi#matoba seiji#my posts#homura cats arc#f#but i don't think 'game face' is quite right either...natori's game face looks more determined. eyebrows drawn down#this is just such a stoic face. i can't really figure out what he's thinking here#i actually pulled out these panels to talk about matoba but i got distracted by natori. and others before me have already made#some very good posts collecting instances of matoba reacting this way. i just couldn't remember if these panels were included

btw what theon went through is what thousands upon thousands upon thousands of slaves still go through in essos. so, do you still feel pity for the slavers that were crucified? do you still pity the slavers killed when daenerys freed the unsullied?
i ask these questions, and yet i know that there are still many people who believe that the violence against the slavers wasn’t justified, or believe that it was simply “too much” or “not fair.” truly… what an insane hill to die on.
maybe these people should spare more empathy for the formerly enslaved instead of wasting time making up excuses (that are not supported by the text) for why the slave masters' deaths were somehow not justified 🫶
#you guys will not believe how many people try to argue in favor of the slave masters#and the other side almost always ends up saying something along the lines of:#‘what if the slavers were just secretly good and were trying to end slavery? dany never gave them a fair trial 😡’#like w h a t tf#it’s always annoying when people make up bs excuses to hate on dany by MAKING UP things that are NOT in the text !!#honestly how am i supposed to argue against what ifs#actually i can do it too: what if all the slavers were actually all psychopaths who enjoyed brutally destroying other human beings?#my ‘what if’ at least has some textual support#i honestly do not know why these people are reading the books if they just wish to change one of the most important characters storyline#asoiaf fandom critical#daenerys targaryen#daenerys appreciation#pro daenerys#anti sansa stans#cause it’s always them at the scene of the crime 😭#poor sansa you’d hate ur stans they’re nasty manipulative liars (not all just to be clear)#formally enslaved includes dany btw#i honestly think that there is something wrong with people who make excuses for fictional slave masters

Gonna speak out as a "fantasy worldbuilding plate tectonics and cell biology" type author and say all of that is fun and cool for you personally as the creator of your universe and its well and good (spectacular even) if you find/have readers who are interested in that level of worldbuilding
But from a publishing and professional perspective that is a WILDLY unreasonable standard to hold fantasy/sci-fi authors to and even more ridiculous in other genres. Not every author is concerned with soil ecology for the plant crops that make textile dyes. I think its almost a literary equivalent of CinemaSins or whatever to point out scientific inaccuracies in worldbuilding because if the author didn't care to or didn't have the resources to develop that part of their world then the book is probably about something else. The nice thing about this recent trend in overly specific worldbuilding is that if you want that type of fiction then people are writing it for you. (Hell, Im writing it) But i think its almost become a way for readers to bully and feel superior when they pick apart the astronomy/biology/geology of a book series or video game rather than engaging with the story the author is actually trying to tell
#clare screams#i normally keep this kinda thing in the drafts#but idk now that i spend all my time hanging out with other authors im realizing#that this overly critical readerbase thing kinda plays into low media literacy and poor reading comprehension#bc authors write books about the stories they want to tell and that doesnt always include seasonal weather patterns#its like the other extreme of the curtains are just blue type criticism

can we talk about the fact that the icons, the memes, the tumblr sexymen who broke history, reigen arataka and sans undertale, are both some of the most exceptionally written and executed characters i have ever had the pleasure of stumbling across? please can we talk about that?
#“some of the most” is not exhaustive btw#that list of the “most” includes mob (ofc)‚ mizu from blue eye samurai and practically the entire cast of arcane#plus many more#but yeah just went down a rabbit hole of watching undertale video essays#and HOLY SHIT i had forgotten quite how INCREDIBLE this game is#toby fox the fucking genius that you are#and i could ramble about how incredible and well written and fascinating reigen is until i turn blow in the face#mob psycho you will always be famous#anyways if you're seeing this from undertale go watch mob psycho#all undertale fans should watch mob psycho#esp if you like undertale's humour#and vice versa actually#but im sure if you're on tumblr you've at least stumbled into undertale before#anyways#oh yeah also this is not a dig on them being tumblr sexymen#i think it's funny that the internet gravitates naturally towards such brilliant characters to meme over#and it gets more people into the source media which is a fucking win win in my books#reigen arataka#sans undertale#mob psycho 100#mp100#undertale#toby fox#tumblr sexyman#tumblr sexymen#sansgen#i guess#oh how i love it when two pathetic men kill the queen with the power of gay love#(nagito and serizawa are sobbing in a corner)#thoughts n rambles

is anyone else up thinking about how pei ming is aptly named as the god of love not for his affairs but for how open he is with his friendship and his devotion to people especially in comparison to the cold detachment of the rest of the upper court. how the three tumors are the only real honest friendship that we see in the upper court and how pei ming is the most openly affectionate of those three. how pei ming is consistently looking out for shi qingxuan even as she disdains him. how pei ming is both an ally and a friend to the main group in the last act just because he's sociable like that. nobody else? just me?
#i am always on my 'aromantic pei ming as the god of love for the irony of it' kick HOWEVER.#i firmly believe he's the most easy with his affection of any character in the book and that absolutely includes hualian.#like xie lian is in love with hc but you could not pay him to give a fuck about most of the other characters dkfgjs#pei ming is consistently well meaning and loyal and devoted to the people he cares about.#and like yes he's shady sometimes. but um. points at him carrying shi wudu's body back from black water arc#and being the only god who is consistently shown to be looking for shi qingxuan after all of that.#and also him nd the other tumors going out for girl's night after the mid autumn banquet i just think they're silly#pei ming and ling wen showing up to that meeting together in last week's episode is just spinning around my head constantly.#they're friends :D#they hang out :D#like the most significant relationships in the upper court besides that are fengqing's dysfunctional rivalry and beefleaf. and well—#talking#tgcf#tian guan ci fu#pei ming

cressida's storyline was genuinely shameful tbhhh it's like they started rewriting it in the first half of the season then completely forgot about the changes they'd made to make it fit the book plot and it just ends up making everyone else look bad😐 every character in the second half got a "penelope did nothing wrong" lobotomy so we ended up with eloise completely ignoring cressida being sold off to an horrible man (when she made every effort to support her in the first half of the season) and for some reason resenting her for pretending to be lady whistledown? Then they somehow frame her ignoring colin's offensively bad pleas as it being her turning away from redemption when all she's trying to do is escape being trapped in the country with her likely abusive aunt... and it ends with her meeting her horrible fate and it still being framed as tragic only to immediately juxtapose it with the bridgerton family winning the idgaf war while gleefully seeing off francesca and her future dead husband. The bridgertons were the villains of the season frfr
#bridgerton#almost as bad as marina's plot in season one. every horrible decision in this show revolves around penelope meeting no consequences ever#this is not an anti post or anything idc about the fandom ill forget about this show tomorrow but i need to get this off my chest#they had to give penelope a fairy tale ending WHICH IS FINE but they somehow did it by surgically removing everyone's personality#INCLUDING HERS#benedict's bi storyline was bad also im sorry. paul literally has like 4 lines of dialogue and he was really cool#i love tilley but she should have been cut😭 if they wanted to establish he was bi (given we know theyre not genderbending sophie)#they should have made the whole subplot about him being attracted to a man instead of a 5 minute footnote in the last episode#i liked francesca and her husband whose name idr but it felt like they were framing it as him not being her 'great love'#considering what happens to him i fjnd it childish and meanspirited soul mates aren't real and he deserves a lttl respect considering.. lmao#what else. the dialogues were horrible. especially the ones between penelope and colin in the second part im sorry#they need to fire the make up and hair department. every reference to queen charlotte felt like a wahh pls watch my show ad#i miss anthony they should change the books to make him the villain of every season bb please come back to ruin your sibilings relationships#portia and philippa were peak as always. violet deserves her own season. we need to put eloise out of her misery pls leave her in scotland#rant overrr#publishing it on my sideblog actually i feel like im gonna lose followers just for having watched this show lmaoo

Films watched (1990s): THE WINSLOW BOY (1999); dir. & screenplay David Mamet (adapted from the play by Terence Rattigan). Starring Nigel Hawthorne, Jeremy Northam, Rebecca Pidgeon & Gemma Jones.
"No, not justice. Right. Easy to do justice. Very hard to do right."
#tbs old films watched#the winslow boy#gif#quotes#nigel hawthorne#jeremy northam#rebecca pidgeon#gemma jones#guy edwards#catherine winslow#robert morton#1990s#period drama#book adaptations#my gifs#terence rattigan#david mamet#i finally got around to watching this last year; it's been on my radar since 99#anyway in short i loved it far too much#it keeps to the play in refusing to add the described court scenes (a natural choice for a film) but also eschews theatricality#and therefore is a very naturalistic observational piece that is extremely low key but also more immediate and less 'period'#plus as ever with rattigan the sharp character studies as the case puts huge strain on the winslow family#and issues of justice and media storms that never go away#with a tiny but excellent cast#including sev fave actors. in short. it was made to appeal to me so i can't be objective#not for those who like a lot of flash bang action in their films#but absolutely excellent if you enjoy small scale character pieces beautifully done with much left to ponder after#also so many doors. the viewer is very much an observer; we are always peering round or standing in doorways
