Milan Kundera stated in the opening chapter of The Unbearbale Lightness of Being that “in the sunset of dissolution, everything is illuminated by the aura of nostalgia, even the guillotine", and I think he's right. I miss the time that has slipped through my the gaps of fingers like daylight leaking through the viridescent canopies last summer but never the summer in which I currently live. Shakespeare said that the past is prologue but I think that might just be my favourite chapter, regardless of how anguishing. Nostalgia comes in a hail of bullets and I am a whirpool amidst it all longing for more to come.
