Valentine's art part TWO, this time with couples/dynamics from other clans!! @curlclans-war Moondapple and Budpelt give me LIFE Moonie deserves all the good things in this world and i will die on this hill. also your artstyle is IMMACULATE i love it so much. @loudclan-clangen Fiercestripe and Wildfirecry!! I binged your whole blog a few days ago and instantly fell in love. So sad our feisty girl is gone. we will never forget you bb. i loved her dynamic with Wildfire and their kits so so much tho. @sporeclan Mousegrove and Puddle!! i've been thinking about your "can they kiss about it? they could... .and perhaps they should" ask for many moons XD i just love them and the lore that's unfolding between them, so excited to see where it goes!!

and a general thank you to all of you, because you have inspired me so much with your art and designs to push my own and experiment a little!! so yeah, happy valentine's day to y'all~

Uhhhh anyway I am going insane over @loudclan-clangen and the newest update??? I’ve been following this story for uh. A while now I think. But after the latest update and the Everything that Wildfirecry got up to I was smacked VERY HARD with the visual of him ending up with an apron of blood instead of his usual apron of oil. Aaaand here we are.

Love how I managed to make clangen fanart before an actual moon of my own clangen story. adhd be like that. (If you like my artstyle and want to see what I do when I get up to it it’s @as-the-raven-cries-wolf bc RavenClan as a blog name was taken lol)

The first one was supposed to be a discord-friendly version bc discord gets fussy when I use too much detail, the second one is me drawing out his oil apron before I turned it into a blood one. It was really interesting trying to translate D’s style and design sensibilities nicely into the way I draw cats, the tufting and more squared-off jaw especially, but it was really fun, picking and choosing what and how to translate, and some things to just keep the same (like the eyes, with a little thematic twist).

It was only a matter of time before I joined this trend. I absolutely love how many Clangen blogs have sprung up, each with unique stories, characters that rip my heart out, and art I can and will stare at for ages. Here are six I particularly enjoy. (Specifics under the cut.)

Cats, in order:

Partridgechaser from @whispering-clan -- I'm super interested to see what a connection to the Dark Forest means in this context (where the good vs. bad associations of StarClan and the Dark Forest are blurred). I had the hardest time choosing who to draw from this Clan of all the blogs, but ultimately her DF association and cool design made me want to draw her!

Brackenshine from @glitterclan -- she's been through so much and deserves a break, but I feel like prophecy cats don't have much luck with that. I'm interested in seeing how she and her siblings interpret StarClan's message, and what they'll do next!

Dropletsplash from @splinterclan -- I love this story so much, especially seeing the unique relationships every member of SplinterClan has with each other. I often overlook Droplet in favor of the kits or their parents, but she deserves everything and is trying so hard. Congrats on the apprentice!

Petuniapaw from @clansofafeather -- I wish for their sake they had a better family, but I love a character who tries to be a good person (...or cat) despite being dealt a bad hand. I loved seeing them bond with Amber and the kits, and seeing them be so protective of them despite just being an apprentice. (This is technically not a Clangen blog but the artist/writer has done several of those too!)

Honeypaw from @the-exiled-comic -- technically not a Clangen comic, but I wanted to include someone from this one anyways! I love Honeypaw for his design, enthusiasm, and kindness, and I've enjoyed seeing more of him in the recent chapters.

Wildfirecry from @loudclan-clangen -- the last few updates have been rough, but I absolutely love the character moments and seeing Wildfire get his revenge. Such a cool artstyle, too! Please get out of the crude oil

I'm nervous I mistagged or misnamed anyone, so apologies if that's the case! All of these blogs are such inspirations to me and I'm excited to see where their stories go.

had enough energy while recovering for some quick headshots, so i did a spin on that 'give me 6 clangens' thing & just drew some characters from different comics i've read & been inspired by c:

WILDFIRECRY (@loudclan-clangen) - im still not recovered from You Know What but his revenge bit was both badass and cathartic. the artists who can commit to character deaths are always really impressive to me!

HERONSTAR (@juniper-clan) - i've been dying to draw heron since she got her adult glo-up, i think her design is really fun. simple & strikingly effective! her very specific fur design was a nice challenge (i hope i got it right).

SNAILSTEP (@snailstep-and-her-clan) - i couldn't not draw the titular girl, especially when she inspired me to start this blog!! i really love her wild mane of fur so much & it was delightful to draw.

RUNNINGSTAR (@darkest-before-dawnclan) - i had a hard time picking just one character since they're all so interesting & well designed... but i ended up going with an as-yet only briefly shown character bc i really vibed with him!

VANILLABRIGHT (@moons-of-dewclan) - i don't know if i could ever do these characters justice, but dewclan is a longtime fav, and i love seeing other adult warriors fans, haha. i know the comic is kind of on hiatus, but i look forward to seeing whatever comes next!

CLOWNWISH (@circus-clangen) - absolutely a must-draw here, the setup for this clan is so unique & fun & the puzzles are just so creative! i haven't solved a single one bc i suck at puzzles, but still a huge inspo for me.

i'm always excited to see what other clangens pop up in the tags, i know most of these are more popular ones, but i'm hoping i get to draw fanart of some off the lesser-known ones soon!

Songpaw of @loudclan-clangen !! I wanted to draw one of LoudClans cats absolutely but it was honestly a tossup between Songpaw and Wildfirecry. Ultimately, I had an idea for Songpaw first. That line of his got me man ,, I love how visceral this comic gets ,, Hurts my heart

I drew this a while while WHILE ago.

When Wildfirecry went out and killed those little pieces of shit who killed my baby Dashpaw.

Everyone I've seen draw something based off the Wildfire of a killing spree puts both Friecestripe and Dogwoodmoth, but they forget Mothtree.

Even though just Friecestripe adopted her (Unless the allegiances for Wildfirecry are wrong) She'd still be upset for cats killing her adoptive mother.

So the main idea of this piece is just Wildfirecry being cheered on by Friecestripe, Mothtree, and Dogwoodmoth.

@loudclan-clangen really hope you like this! Your honestly my favorite clangen blog, which is the reason me and friend made one.

Since I said in the post with Slitsplash and Dashpaw, I made one. I just thought I'd share it with you! @okufaclan-clangen is the blog (This isn't meant to advertise my blog in anyway, if you don't wish to have my blog @ in this post. I will just @ you in the Christmas post! Just simply tell me if you're uncomfortable with it in anyway!!)

This design is so cool! Love the concept of a multi-dimensional wanderer between all of the comics, and also the idea that there was someone who saw Wildfirecry’s rampage and was like “damn. sucks to be those guys. anyway-“

I’ve been inspired by these clangen blogs I’ve been reading, so I created a catsona?, OC insert. [Is that the term?]

I had fun creating this goober that watches everything go down when ironically having terrible eyesight.

Loudclan - Moon 26

The last traces of winter are finally gone as spring fully takes over. The good weather brings about good moods for the cats of Loudclan, and Dogwoodpaw often finds herself the center of attention during training as her mentor becomes more insistent that she accept her warrior name early.

Dogwoodmoth has earned her warrior name. She is honored for her thoughtfulness.

Later that night, while her sister sits her vigil over the camp, Rosehippaw sneaks out to visit the Black Water Pool.

Rosehippaw returns to camp, shaken by the experience, and questions what legacy she will leave behind when she's gone.

[Probably should have split this into 2 parts cause it's so long but I was so excited to draw the second part I couldn't stand to wait! I love the healer kits so much I want nothing bad to happen to them ever unfortunately things are not looking good in that respect. In better news, however, Dogwoodmoth is named in honor of Mothtree! Several asks suggested this and I thought it was cuter than her original name of "Dogwoodmulch" so congrats and thank you if you were one of them!]

Loudclan - Moon 28: Part 1

As the last months of spring begin to fade into summer, the days grow longer, and the sun begins to beat down on the exposed Loudclan camp, turning young minds to thoughts of a more serious futrue. Songkit asks to speak to Owlstar.

Songkit has chosen to train as a healer, thus removing him from the line of succession. Though it may not be what he would have chosen otherwise, Songkit feels a weight lifted off of his shoulders.

[Me and this moon have beef, let me tell you. It was not meant to be two parts but I am slowly losing the plot in regards to cat anatomy so I need to buy myself time to do some studies so that drawing doesn't feel like wading thru lava. Anyway, regardless of how not fun this one was to draw, I do like the end result! Look at my baby boy! Does he have well adjusted and healthy feelings about his parentage? NO! Is he trying his best? Yes! And that's all we can ask of him, really.]

Fiercestripe gives birth to her and Wildfirecry’s 1st litter: Dogwoodkit, a bouncy female, and Rosehipkit, an attention-seeking female.

[Yay! They’re here! The babies! Hope you guys enjoy! I tried chopping up the long panel to see if that would help with the image quality. Let me know if it helps! Because they are less common/regionally specific words: a rosehip is a small, tomato like bulb that grows before wild roses bloom, and dogwood is a shrub covered with bunches of small (usually white) flowers.]
