I've never been terribly active here but I've returned to share my favourite patterns that make me slightly uncomfy and/or ready to star in an absolutely CRACKING sci-fi miniseries, please enjoy.
DEGEN ADULT EYES SWEATER by Lindsay Degen
Who WOULDN'T want this Biblically accurate sweater? The perfect attire for every horrifying occasion.
#22 Raglan Sleeve Pullover by Laura Zukaite
The rather staid naming of this sweater belies its Mad Max energy. After the apocalypse comes for us I hope we can at least dress like this.
Open Waters Shawl by Melanie Berg
A good shawl to wear to a duel to the death with your mortal enemy, if your mortal enemy has trypophobia.
Romanesco Jumper by Ranti Ehinmola
Honestly, the number of variations shown in the project photos for this pattern is amazing. Not only can you fulfill your dreams of looking like a 5th Element villain, you can do it your way.
DEGEN HOLE SWEATER by Lindsay Degen
This is a practical pattern for people like me who are in denial about living in a desert and stubbornly insist on wearing knitwear despite ample evidence this is a bad idea.
Wilderness by Martin Storey
I absolutely adore the 1950s farmhouse vibe of this photo and the beauty and poise of the model juxtaposed with the fact that she looks like a human bittermelon and she is fucking KILLING it
# 17 Patterned Sweater with V-Yoke by Sabrina/Sandra team designers
An unassuming mass-produced pattern from the 90s that, just coincidentally, looks like something you'd wear to head an intergalactic delegation.
Blume by Norah Gaughan
Speaking of space sweaters, here's another that wouldn't look out of place on the bridge of a starship.
Mullion by Martin Storey
This one, on the other hand, looks more like attire for a... space council?
Space Odyssey by Anna Strandberg
This pattern is literally called "Space Odyssey". The author definitely knows.
Dark Moss Pullover by Teti Lutsak
Bringing things back to Earth, the way these broad cables fade into the fabric reminds me of my desire to be buried in one of those mushroom suits after I die. Your interpretation may vary.
Waterbender by YiÄźitcan / Pufido
The ultimate in dramatic sleeves.
Day Dreams by Stacy Collingham
Finally... I think the Power Rangers fought this sweater.

Lux Interior & Chopper Franklin, last ever bass player to record with The Cramps, backstage at The Paradiso, Amsterdam, where they performed on Sept. 18th, 2003, about a week after Johnny Cash had passed away (here in a photo captured by Arjan van den Berg and published in 'Oor' Magazine issue Nov. 2003).
Scott "Chopper' Franklin had started out as a Black Flag teen roadie, learning guitar & bass and jamming with anybody that he could. In Hollywood he crossed paths with the infamous Rick Wilder and began playing bass for the notorious punk rock outfit The Mau-Maus, then later joined the trash rock outlaws The Joneses. He relocated to New York and after having met Lux Interior and Poison Ivy, he eventually joined the Cramps in 2002. He did several tours and recorded the final Cramps studio album “Fiends of Dope Island”. After performing with various bands, he has been playing with the goth americana band Heathen Apostles for the past decade.

Taylor Kitsch as Isaac Reed
Isaac Reed is a broken man in mourning. His family murdered by thieves, he is on a self-destructive path of rage against the world. He picks fights with anything that comes before him on a mission to die the “right way” and return to his wife and son in the next life. “When our story begins, you’re meeting a man at his lowest state,” Kitsch told Netflix.
Longtime friends with Kitsch after four projects together (Friday Night Lights, Battleship, Lone Survivor, and Painkiller), Berg called him saying, “I have the next project for us.”Â
“That happens few and far between,” said Kitsch, reflecting on his career. Smith told Netflix that Isaac was also the first role they knew they were going to cast in the series. “There is no one that could have portrayed Isaac better than Taylor Kitsch,” he said.
Both Berg and Newman praise Kitsch as a rock and partner on the show. “He really went all in,” Newman tells Tudum. “He disappeared with a bucket into the wilderness.”Â

Writeblr Intro
Hello everyone! I'm Tom (he/him), and I decided to join Writeblr to make some more writing friends. I have no idea how any of this works, but let's give this a go and see what happens!
My Writing
I mainly write YA sci-fi, though I'm open to a bunch of other things
I started writing seriously in April 2021, messed around with a few projects, finally finished a first draft in 2022, shelved it, and have been project hopping ever since. But I've finally found a story I have passion for, so here's hoping purgatory is over!
I'm a pantser
I like third-present, first-retrospective, pretty prose, specificity, pulpy action scenes, unique worlds, sympathetic characters, disaster characters, sympathetic disaster characters
WIPs
Beneath the Burning Sky
I call this story Berg for short, after my friend was very mean and called it ice Dune lol. This is my main focus, and a book I hope to traditionally publish someday. I have no idea how much I'm allowed to share with that caveat, so I'll probably avoid major plot things.
Genre: YA sci-fi sapphic romance
Status: Currently drafting, approximately 25K
Description: When they're both stranded in the frozen wilderness by an attack on their planet, Lana (a village hunter) tries to bring Sierra (the president's daughter/rising star of the stage) back home. Rivals to lovers, class conflict, winter survival. Lana may have a long-lasting crush on Sierra from watching her performances on TV. Also sentient flying snake aliens which are very friendly. Mostly. I promise I will write an actual blurb soon lmao
To Dream of Brighter Shadows
This has a very complicated history which I won't go into now, but in it's current form, it's a project I desperately want to write some day. The discovery writing I've done for it so far is by far my best prose.
Genre: Adult literary sci-fi
Status: Discovery writing
Description: A university student struggling with burnout and undiagnosed neurodivergence uses VR cybernetic implants to try and rebuild her old life.
Space Spies
This is entirely vibes right now, but it'll probably be the book I write when Berg's first draft is done.
Genre: YA sci-fi thriller
Status: Brainstorming
Description: Think Cherub/Gallagher Girls in space. May or may not include aliens.
The Ether Cycle
I will not let this distract me.
Genre: Adult? epic fantasy
Status: I will not acknowledge this exists. Though I may have the start of a magic system. And a world. And a conlang.
Description: A world made of floating islands, trees that are impossibly tall, reverse waterfall elevators, magic airships, teleporters, matchlocks? There is no plot.
Can't wait to make some friends here. Please like/reblog/friend me if you like the sound of any of this. I'll be sure to post some WIP intros and some excerpts soon!

Ryan, the youngest of four brothers, was born into a family with a strong sense of duty and discipline. His father, James Chester Reynolds, initially served as a Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman before switching to the food wholesaling business, while his mother, Tamara Lee, worked in retail. Growing up, Ryan was surrounded by a close-knit family, and two of his older brothers chose careers in law enforcement, following their father's footsteps. His family also had political ties, with his paternal grandfather, Chester Reynolds, having served as a politician in Alberta. Ryan was born on October 23, 1976.
He spent his early years in Vancouver, British Columbia, and attended Kitsilano Secondary School, where he studied alongside future actor Joshua Jackson. Ryan’s love for acting became evident in high school as he participated in various school productions. After finishing high school in 1994, he briefly attended Kwantlen Polytechnic University but quickly left to focus on acting.
Ryan’s acting journey began at age 13 when he landed a role in the Canadian teen series "Hillside," also known as "Fifteen" in the U.S. However, despite this early start, his career slowed down, and he even considered quitting acting altogether. At 19, he took a break from the industry, feeling frustrated with his lack of success. However, after some encouragement from his friend Chris William Martin, Ryan decided to give acting another try, and the two moved to Los Angeles.
Ryan’s breakthrough came in the late 1990s when he was cast as Michael "Berg" Bergen in the sitcom "Two Guys and a Girl," which ran from 1998 to 2001. This role helped Ryan gain recognition and led to more opportunities in Hollywood. He later moved into film, starring in comedies like "National Lampoon's Van Wilder" (2002) and romantic films such as "The Proposal" (2009), where he starred alongside Sandra Bullock.
Although Ryan initially made his name in comedic roles, he expanded into action with films like "Blade: Trinity" (2004). His willingness to explore new genres led him to take on physically demanding roles, eventually landing him in the world of superhero films.
Ryan’s defining moment came in 2016 with the release of "Deadpool." His portrayal of the witty and unconventional superhero became a massive hit, making the film one of the highest-grossing R-rated movies ever. Although the character had appeared earlier in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (2009), it was the standalone "Deadpool" movie that truly launched Ryan to new heights. He reprised the role in "Deadpool 2" (2018), both of which were praised for their humor and Ryan’s engaging performance.
Outside of acting, Ryan has ventured into the business world. In 2018, he became a part-owner of Aviation Gin, which he helped turn into a highly successful brand through his marketing efforts. In 2020, he sold the brand in a deal worth up to $610 million. Ryan is also a co-owner of the Welsh football club Wrexham AFC alongside Rob McElhenney. Their experiences as club owners were captured in the Emmy-winning series "Welcome to Wrexham."
Ryan’s personal life has drawn attention as well. He was once engaged to Canadian singer Alanis Morissette, but they ended their engagement in 2007. In 2008, he married actress Scarlett Johansson, though they divorced in 2011. He later married actress Blake Lively in 2012, and they now have four children together. The couple is known for their playful and humorous interactions on social media.
Despite his fame, Ryan has remained grounded, often discussing his struggles with anxiety. His openness on the subject has resonated with fans and contributed to his relatable persona.
In recent years, Ryan has balanced his acting career with his business ventures. His films, including "Free Guy" (2021) and "The Adam Project" (2022), showcase his versatility as both a comedic and action star. His continued success in both entertainment and business has solidified his place as a beloved figure in pop culture, admired for his humor, charm, and dedication to his craft.

Caravan (Owl Painting), 84 in. x 84 in., Oil on canvas. 2012. National Museum of Wildlife Art Permanent Collection (Jackson, WY). Purchased with funds generously donated by Adrienne & John Mars. Artwork & images ©Peter D. Gerakaris. All Rights Reserved. TRAVELING EXHIBIT: UN/NATURAL SELECTIONS: WILDLIFE IN CONTEMPORARY ART
Installation Views & Museum Preview at The Huson River Museum (Yonkers, NY)
OCTOBER 13, 2023 – JANUARY 14, 2024
From Julie Buffalohead and Kiki Smith to Walton Ford and James Prosek, the artists in this exhibition represent another stage in the evolution of animal art. Wild animals have been present in art since the first artists painted images on cave walls or carved figures in stone tens of thousands of years ago. Today’s artists continue to use animal imagery as away to address humanity’s interconnectedness with the natural world. Un/Natural Selections: Wildlife in Contemporary Art, organized by the National Museum of Wildlife Art, explores the meaning of these creative expressions within the context of contemporary art. Featuring a diverse group of more than forty artworks from the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s permanent collection, the exhibition offers a wide range of styles in a variety of media, divided into four thematic sections: Tradition, Politics,Science, and Aesthetics. These realms act as overlapping chapters, investigating the ways we use animal imagery to tackle human concerns and responsibilities. The title of this exhibition is a play on Charles Darwin’s concept of natural selection from his pivotal writing, On the Origin of Species (1859). Darwin’s ideas contributed much to the development of wildlife art in the late nineteenth century, as artists began to represent animals in natural habitats, enacting natural behaviors. From Julie Buffalohead and Kiki Smith to Walton Ford and James Prosek, the artists in this exhibition represent another stage in the evolution of animal art: choosing to represent animals in alternative, unnatural spaces—spaces more often directly linked to civilization than to wilderness. Are they iPad kids? But I don't think I answer the question properly or consistently lmaoo
Yuuji: yes. Minecraft let's Plays all day. Is addicted to those tiktok reddit stories with the game play background.
Megumi: ....yes but watches things like Vsauce, lemmino, occasional reddit ice berg stories etc. Video essays, political commentary all that jazz
I mean... come on. His dad was deadbeat toji u think he didn't just give him an iPad as a kid to shut him up. Why do you think megumi is so tense all the time bro found 4chan and subreddits way too early...
Secretly loves those reddit stories too but thinks ALL of them are fake lmao
Nobara: she would much rather call a friend and talk and stuff. Maybe will put on some reality TV or a mukbang cooking videos or those jungle building a house out of mud vids
Gojo: YES ahhahahahahahahaha
I feel like he lives on twitch and I can see him being a gamer in his off time. He would much rather have someone around tho to talk to. Would love to sit around and gossip about dumb shit.
Would love storytime vids, also those mud house wilderness vids. Hates interviews and anything megumi watches lowkey
If u r dating him check his twitch for half naked gamer girlies :/
Geto: doesn't give a fuck tbh. Can sit down in silence, with a friend, with any type of yt video as long as he gets to eat the food he is good lmao. I think he likes music and just has music playing in his house a lot and eats while thinking about his life and his fucked up philosophies
Shoko: def a nobara type too. Heavy on the mukbang cooking vids. Occasional megumi educational video influence. Loves trashy reality TV for some reason but she is wasted all the time so it checks out lol
Yaga: yes... hhahaha I can see him loving Gordon Ramsey or those village cooking videos. Watches a bunch of diy videos on how to make plushies and some more videos on panda related things :)
Nanami: no. He reads the newspaper and just relaxes like meditating or something. I don't think he touches his phone for entertainment. Reads the news and some other articles on cultural shit and that's it. Gives major dad vibes. Lmaooo imagine him being like a top player in candy crush hahahahahahha
Utahime: bestie eats in silence with a book on her lap or gojo randomly talking shit in her ear
Doesn't touch digital things cuz she knows a lot of it is cancerous
Maki: kind of. She is obsessed with different health videos on how to get your body strong and martial arts, kinesthetics videos. I can't see her being obsessed with watching things tho. She is so busy with training and probably opts for quick meals or meals where she is with friends. Girlie is mindful and whatever
Panda: hahaha yeah hahaha But I feel like he loves his phone, is def a huge gamer
I think he might be a mix of everyone on this list
I can see him consuming all kinds of media, even unboxings and asmr videos and literally anything hahaha
Inumaki: yesssssssss definition of iPad kid lmao. He is very much like yuuji and gojo
Gojo, panda, yuuji and him play games on voice chat A LOT
Noritoshi: no. Look at him bro... he barely opens his eyes
Mai: is constantly on gossiping websites and spreads misinformation on those sites lmaooo
Yuutaaa: mf eats with his demon gf and just talks to it randomly. Watches a lot of movies and shows soooo probably an iPad kid? He is way too traumatized to not be hahahaha
Mahito: watches human rights violating porn all the time and lives on the dark web
Sukuna: honestly, he is an iPad kid in a non modern way. Would want someone to be infront of him and perform for him. Like singing, dancing etc. Even though it's sukuna I think mans is incredibly cultured and has a taste for those finer things
Choso: no. He probably just talk to his brothers all the time cuz they are inseparable. Also he has so much in his head to think about kinda like geto. If you suggested something to watch or showed him the internet he'd enjoy and find some niche. I think he is really into music and would turn into a micro celeb music critic
Toji: nah, his phone is blowing up with new job offers and he goes home to just sleep for a sec or have hot sex with a chic for money cuz bbygirl is just sometimes a whore.
If he did have the time to be online he'd be a slight mahito and then go and kill people who he thought took it too far. Other than that maybe also obsessed with half naked gamer girls on twitch and building mud houses videos
Todo: YES. He watches that idol girl all day everyday and God forbid he misses an episode
------
I don't think any of them like those crime podcasts and videos cuz it's death around them all the time and most of the mystery deaths in jjk world is probably because of those curses and what they do for a living

Fühlst du es?“ Read the full article
