Part of me would love to see Bells Hells bring Relvin with them to the big battle with the Ruby Vanguard - if only to get a moment where he and Liliana reunite. Where they lock eyes for the first time in decades. A moment where they can see the grey in their hair, the lines on their faces, and the way they hold themselves like they haven't had anyone to lean on over the years.

Liliana would be forced to confront the past she thought she'd left behind. Of course there was a chance her Ruidusborn daughter would follow in her footsteps, but Relvin was just a man! He should have stayed far away, in Gelvaan, where she wouldn't have to think about him too hard.

Relvin would be forced to confront the woman he believed was his future. The woman who promised to stay with him, but disappeared because his whole self wasn't great enough to be her other half. He had spent decades wondering what had become of Liliana and her quest, and here she was.

She'd look at him and realise just what her single-minded goal robbed her of: a lifetime with the man she fell in love with. And he'd look at her and realise that he hadn't lied when he told Imogen her mother was dead... because the woman he knew died the day she left her family behind.

Something so messed up about the way Dean positioned himself in Sam's life to be the prominent pillar that it was built on. Whenever Sam fell, Dean was holding him up again. Whenever he was in a predicament, Dean was his gateway. Dean made it so that his presence in Sam's life was solid, a refuge, and immediate; and sometimes he'd be treating him with this overwhelming sickening sweetness, like Sam's a glass menagerie. Dean probably didn’t even know he was doing it.

Dean's constant showering of his attention toward Sam went as a fact of life, and Sam has always felt overwhelmed and suffocated by it. It made him feel guilty and small, like he had a debt he could never repay. Even though Sam is a hero who can handle things on his own, Dean's existence renders him in the position of the one being saved because he's Dean's one weak spot. His Achilles heel. And Sam is helpless. He's helpless in the face of Dean's all panicked and pained expression when he sees him hurt. And feels guilt about it as if it was somehow his fault.

Sam wants but can never place a catch on what about him merits the kind of devotion Dean fixes on him bc Dean's devotion is inexplicable and unreasonable in nature. Sam can never pull the both of them away from something fundamentally foreign and incomprehensible to him. His only choice is to give in to it. And he gives in to Dean's devotion till he has seemingly remolded his entire being around Dean.

It's insane how Dean forces Sam to choose between his all-encompassing, suffocating love and solitude, making such a choice even exist. Just as Sam begins to forget what it was like, Dean pulls him back into it. So Sam ultimately ends up with a profound despair, more trapped than ever before, trapped despite being addicted to it, the instinct to break free permanently out of thought.
