But i think forever my biggest problem was and will be is that nobody ever found out what Mikey said to Brian at Mel and Lids’ party where he got punched. Yeah qaf and not following up on plot points is a issue within the show in general. I agree not having one single soul wondering what on earth could have made Brian punch his best friend since childhood was very unrealistic.

Sure they've gotten into verbal arguments before but Brian is not a violent person and has never put his hands on anyone so they must have known it would have to be something major to make him lose it like that.

I did not appreciate Debbie automatically assuming that it was Brian's fault the next day when Michael has a black eye and calling him out in the diner. Alongside the long standing problem with the group always thinking the worst of Brian and writing off all the growth they have seen him go through and Debbie saying it's not surprising that Justin left Brian when he never showed him he loved him. Even though she was the one in S2 who got him to silently admit that he did and she told Michael but now they've broken up it's all his fault and he doesn't know how to love anyone. Wtf get out of here with that shit!

I've slowly been watching bits of the Ethan storyline but he's so cringe that I can only handle snippets at a time. But interestingly I had forgotten they gave Ethan a backstory that his ex was basically a Brian type of guy in that he would go to clubs, fuck around as a way to connect with Justin and Ethan didn't want that type of lifestyle and wanted monogamy.

So to then have him instantly cheat after one day is hilarious and the cheating plot was weak writing anyway. Ethan was insufferable enough without it and he and Justin had other cracks in the relationship that would have ultimately broken them up.

Chad doesn’t know what he did to make you hate him.

Prior to meeting you, he’d seen you around before. It’s difficult to miss you even on the large campus—you were attractive. And when he found out that you were friends with Mindy and Anika, he was overjoyed to have a close connection to you because it meant that he could get to know you.

He noticed that you were slowly becoming part of the friend group, getting to know the Carpenter sisters and Quinn, and in turn his roommate, Ethan. And so he waited for you to approach him first.

But you never did. Ever. He began to notice how you avoided him when he greeted you, responding with a curt ‘hi,’ but without your smile. Not that he thought you owed him, of course—he just had no idea why.

And he asked Mindy.

She responded: “Oh, yeah. They don’t like anyone from the football team. Thinks they’re assholes.” With a laugh, refusing to elaborate on that bombshell his sister just dropped.

Chad’s logic? If you think he’s an asshole, he may as well just be one. So that’s how he began to act around you.

It’s been over a year since he first met you. He teases you when he can, provoking you at any moment possible. He hasn’t seen you around in a few weeks.

(He’ll never admit that it makes him sad.)

Tonight’s frat party is up and running—just a little bit of fun before finals start. Everyone takes their mind off things.

So how exactly does he find himself in the basement, locked inside? He doesn’t know.

“Hey!” He bangs on the door incessantly, trying to catch anyone’s attention from the other side. He can hear snickering and the music, and that tells him that he won’t be let out any time soon. Justin must have done this, he thinks, berating his friend. As payback for eating his food yesterday. “This is fucking stupid.” He mutters under his breath.

He descends down the stairs, shoulders slumped, throwing the empty red solo cup on the ground.

But his eyes catch on a familiar figure standing against a wall, seemingly surprised at his presence. You.

“What are you doing here?” He doesn’t expect an answer, frankly because he believes any conversation he’s had with you has been less than ten words.

“It’s a shit party.” You shrug.

He scoffs, “So why’d you come?”

“Bored.” Your lips purse into a thin smile.

“Is this why they locked me in here? Because you’re here?”

You laugh, and he tries to push down the way his heart leaps at the sound. “I don’t even think they know I’m in here. Why would they do that, anyway? Am I that bad to be around?”

“Don’t act like you don’t hate me.”

Your eyes narrow, “I don’t.”

His brows shoot up. “Really? Okay, then.” He walks closer, stopping a foot away. “Why do you never stay when I’m around?”

He tries to ignore how your eyes wander to his arms. The sound of his throat clearing is apparently enough for you to stop practically gawking at him. Did you like his muscles? He can't help but be plagued by the thought.

"Alright, fine." You sigh, admitting defeat. "I try to stay away from guys like you."

He's baffled. So you really do just hate frat guys? Based off a generalization? He bites his tongue when he wants to add that Ethan is in a frat too. The same frat as Chad! And you still have no problem with Ethan! Do you hate jocks? Is that it?

You seem to notice his inner turmoil, though you don't understand the stress over one person's opinion of him. But to him, it's your opinion that he cares about.

"What do you mean by guys like me?" He shrugs, trying to brush off the fact that he almost spiraled in his head.

"Football team."

Ah, so Mindy was right.

"Why?" He tries not to sound desperate, but you don't even realize anyway, as something reminiscent of a shadow passes over your face.

"It was just a bad experience. And all the guys on there defended him. I can't get into it."

Oh.

And now he feels like the asshole.

He's familiar with the guys' antics, he really is. He knows how they speak about others without regard. The stories he's heard always make him leave, seeking better company.

"But..." You visibly slump. "I know you're Mindy's brother. And I know she tells me you're not like those guys. But I'm cautious, okay?"

He nods, wanting you to continue.

"I only really hated you during the first few weeks. After that, I just kind of...I don't know, felt bad that I treated you like that, you know?"

He doesn't know why he feels so elated, but he does. He extends his hand as a peace offering.

"Wanna do a truce?" He asks, a curious lilt to his voice. "You can get to know me and form your own verdict. Then you can decide if you like me. Sound fair?"

You smile. You smile, and it's genuine. To him, nothing beats that.

Well, nothing except what comes next.

You shake his hand, closing the distance between you and him. The hitch in his breath is noticeable but you don't say anything.

"I think I already like you," You admit. Truthfully, when you saw Chad, you felt the warmth radiating off of him. He was protective of those he loved. Even when he began to provoke you for no reason, you loved it.

Your lips are so, so close.

But you practically jump away from him at the sound of the door opening, accompanied with a male's voice and the music of the party, shouting for Chad to do shots.

He's wide eyed, wanting to continue what was about to happen, but you shrug and walk away. But you still leave him with a, 'Let's continue this later.'

Madoc was standing in the house once again, reliving his worst memories-Eva and Justin's deaths. The house where Vivienne had vowed to hate him. The house where Jude had screamed at him and hit him. The house where Taryn had sobbed, shaking her mother's dead body, though Eva would never get up again. It was empty. No one had bought it even after 3 years-the deaths still haunted them. It looked normal-a red plastic FOR SALE was mounted on the lawn and the wind chimes jingled in the comforting breeze. He wondered if ghosts existed. Would Eva and Justin be staring at him with contempt in their eyes? He hesitated, just as he had 3 years ago on that fateful day. Oh, how he wished he had grabbed Vivienne and Eva and ran. Would Justin come after him? Perhaps. But maybe he would take care of his daughters first. Madoc didn't know-Justin had been such a strange man. He didn't want to go inside. He didn't want to relive the bloodstained carpet and smell of wet blood.

He swallowed. He was a redcap. He was brave, and he slept at night knowing that he had killed thousands of soldiers. He could go inside and endure the ghosts of the past. He inhaled, curled his hands into fists and stepped inside. Nothing. It was empty, scrubbed clean, like no one had lived inside it at all. There were ornamental decorations and a pleasant perfume permeated the air. All dressed up to make it look flashy and attractive. Nothing could ever attract Madoc to the house, except for the fact that his daughters had run away. Just like Eva. Just when he had thought that they had begun to like him-they had sat on his lap, eating out of his plate, and played Nine Men's Morris with him. Taryn had stopped flinching every time she saw him, and Jude had smiled at him, even coming to have a somewhat twisted affection for him. Vivienne, of course, had not stopped. The weight of her vow would never leave her, and she had been so angry that she could not speak to them for days. Had she guilt tripped them into leaving? Most probably. Though they loved him somewhat, they would never be able to forget their real parents. The ones that he had murdered right in front of their eyes. Blood on the kitchen floor and the heavy smell of blood. He forced his feet to move, up, down, up, down. Into the kitchen where Eva once lay. Into the backyard where Justin's forge once stood. Into the bedrooms- He stopped, inhaling sharply. The beds were clearly made with gray and yellow covers. The room was airy and sunlit, dust motes dancing in the sunlight. A peaceful, drowsy afternoon. Was this where his daughters had slept? Where they had played with each other? Where they had watched, what did humans call it, TV? Television? Eva had told him of it and he had watched the strange pictures dance across the screen. They had watched it together, she laughing, he not understanding but smiling and playing along. He closed his eyes. He opened them again. Any question of them being here was gone, though they might have come for a brief visit. Were memories too painful for them as well? Footsteps made him spin around. Standing there was a woman, wearing a suit that hinted that she might be a-what had Eva called it-a 'real estate agent', someone who sold property. 'Sir,' she said. 'I don't know what you're doing here, but you need to leave, unless you're a potential buyer. How did you get in here?' He hit her on the side of the head and she crumpled. His heart wildly richocheted and suddenly she was Eva. He had killed another person. He stepped back and fell against the wall, screaming into his bundled cloak. Was she dead? His eyes were wild, his heart pounded as he scrambled to find out. No, Eva, please don't be dead- She had a pulse. She was bleeding, but she would be all right. He couldn't stay here. He had to leave-he barely had a few minutes to go back before he would have to attend a meeting. He took her phone, called the police (911, was it?) gave them directions and then stepped out. Suddenly, he didn't want to leave. He wanted to stay here and drink in the memories of a family, torn apart by him, that he had so desperately tried to put back together. And now that they had run away, he might never be able to. He took the silky black horse back to Elfhame. His memories took the form of knives, stabbing into him as he recalled their painful shapes and colors. They took the form of needles, slowly sliding into him as he silently screamed, feeling the cold, sharp pain of memories upon him.

Mama came out of the party room, smiling warmly at us. She had probably been running around the restaurant all evening, being extra and making sure everything was in order for us. As always, she was dressed to the nines and looking amazing.

"You're not supposed to arrive early at your own celebration," she said.

"And let you take care of all of this by yourself? Nonsense," Sophia said.

I nodded in agreement.

"What she said."

Mama shook her head lovingly at us.

"You two are too cute. Your guests should start arriving soon. Get a drink. Enjoy yourselves. Don't do anything else!"

She scurried off to make sure the fountains had drink and all the heat lamps were working. I wasn't sure why I didn't consider it might snow when I suggested a patio party in the dead of winter. Guess I've officially lived in Oasis Springs too long.

I drew my attention back to my gorgeous fiancée, who was beaming at me. I got to spend the rest of my life with her. How did I get so lucky?

"Let's dance," she said.

I knew there was music playing somewhere, but I could barely hear it.

"Here? Right now?"

"Yeah! Why not?"

I shrugged and cradled the small of her back. If my lady wanted to dance, we dance. We swayed back and forth, and she grinned at me the entire time. I knew she was eager to get married, but I think that was the first time I could clearly see her brimming with excitement. The curtain of snow behind us was the perfect backdrop for the short-lived romantic moment.

"You guys started without us," Dub said.

We broke away from each other, semi-embarrassed.

"I was just about to do my special move," I said.

Sophia's head jerked back in disbelief.

"You have special moves now? This I have to see! Can you guys come back later?"

We all shared a laugh.

"So you're Sophia," Dub said. "It's great to meet the woman this guy won't shut up about."

"Oh, you mean like you can't shut up about Maia?"

"Yeah...you're right."

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Luca," Maia said. "He talks about you a lot too."

Maia was absolutely stunning. Her eyes... They drew you in, and it was clear why Dub was so twisted up when we met. But it wasn't just her beauty. She was poised and had a comforting vibe. I could tell she was a quiet force to reckon with, and I was so glad they were finally together. Maybe one day soon Sophia and I would be dancing at their wedding.

"The pleasure is all mine," I said.

My friend Justin slipped into the middle of the group. I hadn't seen him since we ran into each at the romance festival, but we communicated a few times a week on Social Bunny. We didn't connect on a deep level, but I enjoyed chatting with him and didn't hesitate to extend an invitation.

"Excuse me," he said. "Sorry to interrupt. I probably can't stay the whole time, so I just wanted to come congratulate you before it gets too crazy."

"Thanks, Justin. I appreciate that. And thanks for coming!"

"No doubt. No doubt. I'll get out your way and let you finish."

He could have stayed and got to know Dub, Maia, and Sophia, but he left just as quickly as he arrived. I guess it would have been a bit weird to stick around, especially when he interrupted us. Sophia seized the opportunity to chat with Maia.

"I love your dress," she said.

"Oh, thank you. I love yours too."

Dub and I watched as our ladies felt each other out. I didn't doubt he was as happy as I was that they seemed to like each other.

"You wanna grab a drink with me?" Sophia asked. "We can leave our boys to bask in their bromance, or whatever."

Maia laughed.

"Sure, let's go."

But before they could leave, Chi Chi sashayed her way into the conversation, looking as fine as ever. Why was literally EVERY woman in my life insanely attractive?? All of them! Was it normal to have so many good-looking friends?

"You must be Sophia," she said. "Wowee! I see why this guy dropped everything and ran to Oasis Springs. You are breathtaking!"

Sophia's cheeks reddened, and she flashed a nervous smile.

"Uhh...thanks."

"I'm Chi Chi, by the way. I'm very happy to finally meet you."

"Nice to meet you too," Sophia said.

When Chi Chi finally took her eyes off Sophia and noticed Dub and Maia, her entire demeanor changed.

"And who is this?" she asked, looking at Maia. "Are you two together? Because if you're not, I think I just might try girls next!"

Dub's eyebrow went up, but Maia maintained her smile, though it seemed forced. Luckily, Maira hopped in and saved us from the awkwardness.

"Congratulations, my friiiiieeeeennnnnd!"

"Thanks, Maira. Come join us. Let's all sit over there."

I brought the party over to the sofas so we could chill and chat more comfortably.

As Owen and Noah chatted, Owen's exuberance got the best of him, and he accidentally slammed into someone, making them yelp and fall. That someone turned out to be Justin, who was dressed as a "sexy" skeleton. Justin shot Owen an angry glare and yelled, "Watch where you're going, you oaf!" He then pointed at Noah with a scowl.

Before Justin could continue his tirade, Alejandro stepped in, interjecting with a calm and authoritative tone. "Justin, let's not make a scene here."

But Justin was not easily silenced. He was about to retort when Trent, dressed as the grim reaper, stepped forward and quickly grabbed Justin's arm. He shot a reassuring smile at Alejandro before turning his attention to Justin.

"Sorry about that," Trent said to the group, diffusing the situation with his calm demeanor. "We didn't mean to cause any trouble. We're all here to have a good time."

Justin reluctantly accepted Trent's intervention, though he still shot one last irritated look at Noah before he was guided away, leaving the group to continue their maze adventure.

Noah rolled his eyes at the recent confrontation with Justin, and he turned to Owen, asking, "Are you alright?"

As he inquired about Owen's well-being, Noah couldn't help but notice Alejandro holding his hand, the warmth of their touch sending a subtle shiver down his spine. He glanced over at Owen and saw his roommate side-eyeing him with a knowing grin.

Owen's mischievous expression didn't go unnoticed by Noah. He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and whisper to Owen, "What are you grinning about?"

Owen leaned in closer to Noah and chuckled, "Oh, nothing, little buddy..."

Noah shot him a playful glare and couldn't deny the mix of excitement and curiosity that the night had brought.

As the group made their way out of the maze, they were greeted by Izzy's excited scream as she spotted a massive ferris wheel in the distance. Her eyes sparkled with childlike enthusiasm, and she jumped with joy as she pointed at the towering attraction.

However, Eva sighed in frustration as she glanced at her watch, realizing that the event was coming to a close. She reluctantly explained to the eager duo, "Izzy, everyone is almost leaving. We don't have time for the ferris wheel."

Izzy and Owen, not so easily deterred, crouched down and donned their best puppy eyes, both pleading with Eva to give in to their request. Their combined efforts made it hard for anyone to resist, and even Alejandro couldn't help but snicker at the charming scene they were creating.

Noah, still blushing from the warmth of Alejandro's hand holding his cold one, couldn't help but smile as he watched the group's playful antics.

With a begrudging sigh, Eva relented, giving in to the puppy eyes of Owen and Izzy. She climbed onto the ferris wheel and took the middle seat, while Owen and Izzy squeezed into the other two available seats. Owen looked over at Alejandro and Noah, apologizing, "Sorry, guys, it only has three seats. You'll have to take the next ride."

Owen gave Noah a playful wink and a thumbs-up, eliciting a glare from Noah. However, Alejandro, ever observant, noticed the interaction between Owen and Noah, leaving him with a sly grin.

As the ferris wheel started its slow ascent, Noah and Alejandro found themselves seated side by side. Alejandro couldn't help but notice Noah's cold hand in his warm one. He leaned in and whispered, "Why are you so cold..."

Noah, caught off guard, blurted out, "Why are you so hot?" He immediately realized what he'd said and stammered, "I mean, not like that, I just... uh... never mind."

Alejandro, thoroughly amused by Noah's unintentional flirtation, grinned at him. "Relax, mi gatito, I knew what you meant," he said, giving Noah's hand a gentle squeeze as they continued their ride on the ferris wheel..

As the ferris wheel reached its peak, it suddenly stopped, and strange, unsettling noises emanated from the mechanism. Alejandro and Noah exchanged horrified glances, their eyes filled with trepidation. In the distance, they could hear Owen's terrified screams mingling with Izzy's gleeful laughter.

Alejandro, despite his usually confident demeanor, found himself far more agitated than Noah. He muttered, trying to keep his voice steady, "It's going to be alright. These things happen, and it'll start again later. There's probably someone out there who can help us."

Noah, surprisingly calm, recognized Alejandro's agitation as he observed his agitating foot stomping and trembling hand. Without a word, Noah squeezed Alejandro's hand to offer silent reassurance. The touch was a comfort amidst the unexpected situation they found themselves in.

As the unsettling sounds continued, Noah couldn't help but express his concern. He turned to Alejandro and asked, "Are you sure you're alright?"

Alejandro scoffed, attempting to maintain his bravado. "Of course, I'm not scared," he replied, his eyes locking onto Noah's with a challenging look.

But then another ear-piercing noise echoed through the night, so intense that it nearly made their ears bleed. In response, both Noah and Alejandro screamed in unison, hugging each other tightly and shutting their eyes as they braced for the worst.

Unbeknownst to them, the ferris wheel had started moving again. As they descended, still clinging to each other with their eyes tightly closed, Izzy and Owen grinned at the unexpected scene that had unfolded during the ride. Eva, on the other hand, was far less amused and scoffed loudly to get their attention.

As their feet touched the ground once more, Noah and Alejandro slowly opened their eyes, blushing from embarrassment at how they had reacted during the ride..

As they stumbled slightly while disembarking from the ferris wheel, both Noah and Alejandro were blushing intensely from the embarrassment of their earlier antics. Eva shook her head with amusement, and the rest of the group couldn't help but laugh at the sight.

Noah couldn't help but notice that Alejandro was still tightly holding his hand with his trembling one, and it sent a warm, tingling feeling through him.

As they made their way out of the amusement park, Eva began to address Alejandro, "So, Alejandro, we have to head home now, but if you want..."

Before Eva could finish her sentence, Izzy, always full of enthusiasm, interrupted with a high-pitched scream, "You can sleep over at Noah's house! WE'RE HAVING A SLEEPOVER!!"

Eva glared at Izzy for her sudden outburst, clearly intending to offer Alejandro a ride home instead. However, Alejandro's eyes sparkled with hope as he glanced at Noah, silently asking if he could accept Izzy's invitation. Blushing furiously, Noah nodded, unable to refuse Alejandro's shining eyes.

Izzy and Alejandro both yelled out in excitement, but Alejandro quickly covered his enthusiasm with a cough to save face, not wanting to reveal just how thrilled he was with the opportunity to spend more time with Noah outside of the Halloween party.

Eva sighed, accepting Izzy's enthusiasm, and she got into the driver's seat. As usual, Izzy claimed her throne as the passenger princess in the front. Owen settled in behind Izzy, chatting animatedly with her, while Noah and Alejandro sat quietly beside Owen. Noah could still feel Alejandro's warm hand holding his, which only intensified his blushing.

As they drove through the darkened streets, Noah's gaze was fixated outside the window. However, he was keenly aware of Alejandro's presence beside him.

Then, in a low and gentle whisper, Alejandro broke the silence. "Hey, Noah... are you alright?"

Noah turned his head abruptly, accidentally getting closer to Alejandro's face, and then quickly pulled back with a nervous grin. Alejandro, now looking at him with a confused expression, awaited Noah's response. Their eyes locked, and in that moment, they felt a magnetic pull between them. It was as if they were about to share a kiss, the tension building as their faces drew closer.

Their almost-kiss was abruptly interrupted as Eva hit the brakes, causing the car to come to a sudden stop. Both Noah and Alejandro were thrown forward, their heads knocking against the front seats as they groaned in pain, their near-miss moment forgotten in the collision.

Eva turned around to check on her passengers, her expression a mix of concern and annoyance as she asked, "Is everyone okay?"

Noah and Alejandro laughed nervously in response and nodded in unison, trying to shake off the awkward moment from a few minutes ago.

Alejandro, however, was struggling to get past the near-kiss. He felt like he had one job tonight, and that was to get Noah's number. But now, his throat felt dry, and his face was flushed with a warmth that spread across his cheeks. His heart raced, and he couldn't help but bite his lip in frustration. He couldn't believe he'd almost let a perfect opportunity slip through his fingers.

As they continued the ride home, Alejandro couldn't shake the feeling of missed potential, wondering what could have been if that kiss had happened. He resolved to make the most of the sleepover and find another chance to make his move with Noah.

The fact that people only talk about Euphoria and still with you for JK but for Jimin every army knows the roster of lie, serendipity, filter and promise. I genuinely do not care which member is the "most famous" because for example currently Sabrina Carpenter is more famous than Olivia Rodrigo but OR will surge up again with her next album release and in the end I enjoy listening to them both. This comparison stuff is idiotic. But I genuinely laugh when people say JK is better than Jimin - because by what measure? Jimin has better songs and has more iconic performances. I guess people could say JK has better vocals but I'm gonna be honest that's highly subjective. It's not like we're dealing with a Beyonce or an Adele here. JK's level of vocals can be found in any SM groups vocalist. I'd say Jimin has the edge with vocal colour and JK's vocals are getting more bland with every passing year (why's his voice on still with you better than anything on golden?) while Jimin's getting better and better with vocal control which was the only area JK had a clear edge over him. Man is coasting by because he's the company favourite and has 11 years of company narrative pitching him as the main character but somehow Jimin's still keeping up with half the tools and half the support.

I suppose JK has a bigger army of femcels who want to f*ck him as fans and loser kpopies are also by his side. Poor Jimin missing out on that demographic of fans - very sad. But JK better hide his girlfriend better in the future because his crazy brood of fans may lose it if he ever decides to get into a public relationship. Ask kth on how quickly your fans turn on you for the cardinal sin of not being single or screwing your bandmate.

Hmm. What to say? I don't like Jungkook's voice. I just don't. I didn't like it in Dynamite, and I don't like it now. When listening to BTS songs I find myself waiting for Jungkook's parts to end. I'm not sure what it is about the quality of his voice that bugs me, but it started long before I lost all respect for him during chapter 2. It feels too forced, maybe? He tries to use power to make up for a lack of emotion? A little too nasal? (Pro tip - address your food sensitivities to clear up your allergic rhinitis). My dream is for someone who is good with Garage Band, or another music app, to put JK and Justin Bieber singing the same notes side by side. I think the difference in quality and tone would be interesting.

I've said this a million times already, but the US is NOT lacking in exceptional singers. This country isn't suffering from a Jungkook deficiency, or a K-pop deficiency for that matter. What made BTS stand out in the first place was their original music and the impressive choreography/performances. Jimin's lovely, clear singing voice (plus the growls) and insane dance skills have always been central to BTS' success. There is definitely a precedent and passion for performers like Jimin, though. We love a good song and dance man!

Based on the few photos I've seen from JK's exhibition in Seoul and the upcoming I am Still, it looks like HYBE is leaning hard into the sex symbol concept. Lots on naked chest and abs. Lots of tatted, pierced bad boy stares. And what else is there? There's no artistry to focus on, unless you're super into his dancing style. I hope that works out for Jungkook and HYBE. Like you said, there's a demographic within the fandom that's completely down with lusting after him. To each her own, I guess.

Jimin will shine no matter what. He has integrity, artistry, sex appeal, and sings with emotion. Don't sweat Jungkook. He'll have his fans, of course, but I don't think he'll ever have the loyal, committed following, let alone the media attention, Jimin naturally attracts. Look no further than the difference in their birthday celebrations in Korea. One is a national holiday, the other is definitely not.

P.S. OMG, I can't wait for Jungkook's girlfriend reveal. A good chunk of the fandom will need psychiatric help.

Henri being aromantic just makes sense to me. Romance doesn't ever come up in his story, it's all about him and his best friend! An incident with a barmaid is mentioned, though unspecified, so I just don't really know what that's about??? But also the Bunker was released just around the same time as the first-ever international aromantic day of visibility, sooo... Also I don't know if he's also ace, but personally I think he probably is, he's at least the one on this list who in my opinion is the closest to being fully aroace (like me :D)

#3 - Justine Florbelle

Now I know we've already jumped to a ridiculously controversial character here, so you know the last two are really gonna be a doozy haha, but ANYway, Justine obviously loves having people be attracted to her, but she herself never experiences any attraction to any of her Suitors. She just loves to feel loved and feel "beautiful," but she doesn't love any of them in return. I don't know about her being ace honestly, I considered sex positive ace for her but maybe she does feel the sexual attraction but not the romantic? Definitely romance favorable aro, but I'm interested in other people's opinions on the sexual attraction part of it. But last but not least, let's address the elephant in the room- Clarice. I personally believe that Justine and Clarice are in an alterous relationship. It's not necessarily romantic but it's not necessarily platonic, it just is what it is between them and what's important to them is that they love each other, not exactly what kind of love that is. That's my take

#2 - Alexander von Brennenburg

Ohhh yeah here's where I'm really gonna lose people, but I'm gonna be totally honest... I don't understand why everyone in the fandom sees Alexander as a slut??? I don't see that in him in the game at all, he's CLEARLY wholly devoted to his love (who I personally believe to be Temaku based on a note in Rebirth). Everything Alexander does, spending hundreds of years just to open this portal, is all just to be with his love again. So why would he be sleeping around and falling in love with Agrippa, Weyer, Daniel, or ANYone? I don't get the fandom interpretation of Alexander being a whore or polyamorous, I think in the game he's monogamous to a disturbing and unhealthy degree and it's part of what makes his character... who he is. So in my eyes, Alexander is demigay (I do understand the take that Alexander seduced Daniel to manipulate him without actually being in love with Daniel, but not Alexander falling in love with him for real)

Look. LOOK. Okay. Every single protagonist, even the two others I've mentioned here, have mention of sex and/or romance in their personal stories. Justine, obviously, Oswald, ALL THE TIME, Tasi, had a husband and children, Henri, incident with the barmaid, but Daniel.... nothing. Zip. Zilch. Zero. Nada. It never comes up, and to me that's because he's not ever.. thinking about it. It's not something that's on his mind because it's not something that he feels or desires. He just really likes archeology and history and his sister and that's all :)

That being said...

I do think Daniel is not 100% aroace. I see him more in the gray or demi area, but it's very very very rare for him. Case in point, I do think he had a bit of a crush on Alexander, but I think that was his first crush so he didn't recognize what those feelings were or why he was feeling them. I think Alexander could tell that Daniel had a crush on him though, and thought it was cute and funny but also used it to his advantage (though not by outright seducing him since Daniel didn't know he had a crush). So Daniel in my head is also demigay, or graygay, but most of the time is pretty much aroace

Plus honorable mention - Tihana!! I think it fits with what little we hear about her backstory

Those are my thoughts and feelings I've been sitting on for a year because I'm tired of people bashing aroace headcanons, but that's been happening less and less the last couple years and I've been going through a lot so I think I deserve to indulge myself a little

Yes, attraction is subjective, but the fact is the majority of people found Harry to be the most attractive. He was the most popular member and had the most fanfiction written about him. It makes perfect sense why he gained so many followers and surpassed Liam in the early days of the X-Factor. It is a known thing girls found him to be the cutest and liked his curly hair. Same reason Justin Bieber became so famous. Girls found him cute. He and Harry are not somehow more unique than anyone else. Sorry she doesn't like that though.

The fact is, yes, Zayn had and has his issues, but no matter what a POC in a boyband is never going to be the most popular. Most boybands had only white members in them. Most people in the US are white and will favor whiteness. If Harry wasn't there, the favorite would've been Niall, and so on (though the band wouldn't have gotten anywhere without Harry imo).

I don't know what some harries' deals are. The way they talk about him is legitimately scary. I see stans praising their favs all the time but never the way harries worship Harry. They really delude themselves into thinking he's the biggest star to ever walk the earth.

Hey! Thank you so much for this ask, any chance to talk about one of my favorite couples is always welcome.

I think what makes Alex and Izzie compatible is mostly the fact they're not similar - or at least they don't appear to be, because they both would go lenghts for the people they care about, for instance.

I've always been a sucker of the opposites attract type of couples, so I jumped right on the ship as soon as I started watching (season 2 was over and I already knew what had happened between them, sort of) and to me this is exactly what makes them work. They complete one another, like two pieces of a puzzle, and both bring out the best in the other, while also attenuating some of the not so positive sides of the other (Izzie makes Alex sweeter and lessens his jerk facade, while he challenges her and brings her out of her perfect princess comfort zone and also makes her more confident and willing to stand up in front of others in a couple of occasions).

I wouldn't know how to explain it better, there's just something about them that has always captivated me (the chemistry between Katherine Heigl and Justin Chambers definitely helped a lot).

Onto my favorite moments of them...there's so many!! Needless to say, their wedding and then of course their first kiss, which was so perfect and cinematic! Sigh, it's still one of my favorite first kisses on TV ever.

I also loved how Alex comforted Izzie after Denny's death in 2x27 (that moment is still iconic): he's always had a particular and unique sweetness when it comes to her, which is one of the aspects I love the most about Izzex.

How could I not mention their confrontation in 6x01? "I can't lose you, I won't survive" and the vulnerability in Justin/Alex's voice never fails to make me emotional.

Others are the very sweet and supportive moment in early season 3, when Alex puts his jacket on Izzie's shoulders after she's been outside the hospital all day long, panicking. And when he says 'Hello' to her, in early season 6, after encouraging a patient at doing the same thing with the woman he liked - a sign that things could start again for Alex and Izzie.

Before this gets too long (lol), I got to mention Izzie telling Alex (maybe in 3x18?) that the fact she didn't want him doesn't mean she's okay with someone else (Addison, in this case) wanting him - my heart! Early season 2, when they're just friends, is also an amazing time for them (when they laugh together and George, Meredith and Cristina watch them perplexed from afar? Priceless!) and, last but not least, their kiss in the storage room in season 2 (I don't remember if it was the episode of the bomb), so sweet.

Trent is the second getaway driver is Wayne is knocked out and he’s also helps Cody when he is shoved in the vents (Trent tells where Cody need to go when Cody is in the vents)

Owen is also part of the distraction team and somehow supplies the group with firearms of all things?

Harold is the main hacker

Duncan is I guess the Jack of all trades?

Total Drama Bank Heist AU sounds like a fun little crack idea, I'm on board.

If I could suggest something, I'd like to offer both Noah and Harold as the groups' 'Guy(s) In The Chair', with Noah using his canonical hacking abilities to scout out their chosen heist area using it's security cameras and/or downloading the bank's blueprints digitally (pretty sure he did something similar to this in Dramarama?) and Harold utilizing some of his various Mad Skills to plan the group's course of action and probably man their comms. I say this because Noah can't stand Harold, so making them work together as the groups' off-site organizers would/could be hindered by the two of them bickering instead of actually working. (Also because I can't imagine a world in which Noah would willingly do something as physically straining as robbing a bank. Mission intelligence, however, is right up his alley; he and Harold absolutely fight over who gets to be called 'Q'.)

Having Alejandro as the main group's de facto leader just feels right, and I don't think they'd need someone dedicated to being the 'Brains' with him around (though that title would go to Harold and Noah technically). He's quick witted enough to think up plans of action on the fly and devious enough to charm his way through a tough spot, all whilst being physically capable enough to fight his way through trouble- if anything I'd say Alejandro is the 'Jack of all Trades', thought 'The Leader' is probably a more appealing moniker to him.

Justin as 'The Eye Candy' also feels natural- it's his best (only) talent! He's been shown in canon to be a bit of a schmoozer, so complimenting/flirting his way through the banks' guards/employees and working as a distraction is perfect for him, especially since I doubt Justin would want to do any dirty work and risk damaging his 'perfect face/body'.

Duncan and Tyler would be 'The Brawn', with Duncan actually being an effective physical threat whilst Tyler is... Tyler...

Though Duncan could also be 'The Wildcard', since his loyalty isn't exactly assured at any given moment. Whilst I doubt he's ever rat the others out for his own assured freedom/safety, abandoning them at the scene while he makes his escape? That's a total Duncan Move (he learned it from Courtney in TDDDDI).

I honestly can't see Owen as a heister, unless he was somehow tricked/blackmailed into tagging along, but if he was he's be similar to Tyler- though his title would be something along the lines of 'The Beefcake'- just some extra muscle who's not particularly good at being extra muscle.

Cody would be the safe cracker. He's small and "quick on his feet" (his words), he's literally built for crawling through vents and cracking open safes! He's smart enough to be a code breaker, though he rarely shows it, and I also think it's a nice nod to his bomb diffusing fear- it's a similar course of action.

Trent as the getaway driver also just feels right. He's laid back enough to be contented to just sit and wait for the others to finish their heist, and his poker face is pretty good so one one really suspects him to be involved in the others' ongoings. He probably plays indie rock songs from the 80s as they speed away from the scenes of their crimes, and he absolutely owns a pair of mirrored shades that he only wears when it's Time To Go- he thinks they make him look cool (they don't, but no one has the heart to tell him).

I could see Cody as a secondary getaway driver as well, if Trent's unavailable, utilizing his baby face and unassuming demeanour to divert suspicion from himself. "No officer, I'm not a getaway driver. I'm just a baby, don't you see the learner's plate on my Vauxhall Corsa?" He has a terrible poker face though. If they were ever pulled over or caught he'd admit to everything without prompting.

I can't really think of a way of including Wayne, given the canonical age difference, unless said age difference is lessened in this AU. If he's, say, 16 whilst the rest of them are in their early 20s, I'd suggest that he's Owen's younger cousin who's tagging along because the group couldn't find a way to dissuade him from joining without him (either intentionally or inadvertently) tattling on their whole schtick. He's got no idea what's really happening- he's aware that they're heisting but Wayne doesn't have the, uh, cerebral constitution to connect "Bank Heist" to "Committing Actual Crimes"- but he's having a Great Time regardless! Alejandro has him on lookout duty (read: Wayne sits outside of the bank, oblivious to the legality of the situation) which Wayne takes very seriously... until he gets bored and hangs out with Trent/Cody in the car.

Now for extras!

Their main opposition is a specialised group of investigators who are assigned to their case- since they mark each heist with their group's name but have yet to be caught (They probably get Duncan to tag the side of their hit banks with a crudely drawn Bull Head or something in bright red spray paint). They're not cops, but they do work with them (ew) to try and finally catch the heisters.

Heather, alongside Courtney, Gwen, Leshawna, Lindsay, Beth and Sierra, work in this special ops. group; they're all specialised agents who are dispatched to the scenes of the heists to try and catch our boys in the act.

(I think Sierra would make a really good intelligence operator, given her canonical ability to run ~22+ blogs simultaneously and dig up private information on people. She'd direct the others towards whichever bank she finds Harold and Noah hacking into.)

They occasionally enlist the help of Izzy and Eva for the extra muscle, but the duo are too temperamental to be a full-time part of their operation.

(Yes I added my girlies as a rival group. It's Gender Wars Time. S1E14 all over again but this time there's less gross food and more LITERAL CRIME‼‼)

I currently know of two times Tony has gone blond (three if you count What Ifs) and one time he's worn Steve's outfit (at least once more if you're willing to count Tony wearing a Cap t-shirt).

Tony wears Steve's outfit once, in IM v3 #33; he and Rumiko are going to a costume party and he dresses up as Captain America:

If you're willing to count Captain America shirts, we see Tony as a child wearing a Cap t-shirt in the style of Steve's uniform shirt in Avengers v8 #31:

Chronologically, the first time we see Tony go blond isn't 616; it's in a What If, specifically What If…? v1 #8; this is the 1989 series, because the previous series is named "What If?" with no ellipsis, so that is also "What If? v1" but that's not the same as "What If...? v1." I love comics numbering.

Anyway, this is "What If Iron Man Lost the Armor Wars?" and one of the things that happens in it is that Tony goes blond:

This issue is more famous in fandom for being the one where Justin Hammer makes Tony put on a mind-control collar, remove his armor, and walk around in his underwear for about half the issue.

You know, just your normal wholesome non-kinky villain requests. Right? Right.

As for 616...

Tony goes blond in the arc Manhunt (IM v3 #68); he is on the run from the law because, among other things, he has been framed for bombing an embassy, which he did not do.

Even though Steve is mentioned on this page, Steve does not appear at all in this arc.

The other time Tony goes blond is during Execute Program. He is on the run from the law for murdering a bunch of people (you may notice a theme here) and this time he did do it, although he was being mind-controlled, so he didn't do it of his own volition. Anyway, we see him dye his hair blond in IM v4 #10.

Tony's not really into this look, as you can see.

Steve does appear in Execute Program and he presumably does see Tony's dye job when Tony removes his helmet while Steve is fighting the Argonaut at the end of IM v4 #12, because they're both right there. However, Steve's being crushed by the Argonaut at the time so Steve doesn't really have anything to say about Tony's hair. But technically the answer to "has Steve ever seen Tony blond" is yes.

Tony then stops his own heart to stop the Argonaut and save Steve's life.

A couple pages later, canon establishes that after this point Tony has no pulse for 37 minutes. We don't see Steve on-page after this page where Tony stops his heart, but I feel like we can assume he's probably noticed Tony lying there dying and also probably has a lot of thoughts about Tony but at this point they are probably not about whether Tony is attractive.

As for whether Steve has a thing for blond(e)s -- I mean, his longest and most famous canonical relationship is with Sharon Carter, who is blonde. Sharon was canonically established as looking a whole lot like Peggy Carter, which is why Steve noticed Sharon in the first place -- so, yes, Peggy, his retconned wartime girlfriend who as far as I know he's never dated on-page, is also blonde. (In her recent appearances her hair is darker, presumably to be more like the MCU.)

Having said that, Steve hasn't exclusively dated blondes or anything -- he was engaged to Bernie Rosenthal, who is not blonde. It's not like Tony and the string of apparently-interchangeable redheads (Pepper, Bethany, Patsy) that Marvel likes to set him up with.

But, hey, if you want to say that Steve likes Tony when he's blond, I think that'd be reasonable; Steve is clearly willing to go for blondes generally, and he'd probably like the novelty of seeing Tony blond. Honestly I think seeing Tony clean-shaven is weirder than seeing Tony blond.

S1e03: The episode that inspired the infamous makeover --like betty looked really good in my opinion maybe the hair was a bit much but she was so confident I loved that for her 🥹💜💜💜. Is it safe to theorize that the late nights they spent working ignited something between them. More so with daniel though as he felt he could share his dads trauma with betty like who does that with their assistance, which is why when he said "they smile a little brigheter when they enter the room" I thought he meant betty my delulu sorry--he was just talking about his dads favouritism I realise.

Maybe I don't get it why would marc wanting to make betty a screenshot on his phone not make me assume he finds her attractive like I don't understand how am I supposed to percieve it as mean. Especially with her beautiful smile

--not daniels finest episode, sees betty and is like she should call for a table at the back at the restuarant they were going to😑😑. Still pissed but when daniel looks at betty when they are presenting infront of his dad and his dad says he doesn't know what his doing it's like looking at betty give him confidence that if she believes in this then why shouldn't I stand up to my dad. Daniel sure does have his low moments and good moments I'll say that. Hated Whilemina for how she treated betty here (but her moment with her dad😓😓) and he did try to to defend betty and checked up on her in the female bathroom which could is the bare minimum but no boss does the things daniel has done on behalf of betty as his assitant or i could be wrong. Although again he has his moments because he didn't try to persaude betty to go to the dinner she planned and wouldn't have happened without her. Let's her be replaced by amanda (couldn't he say to vincent betty wasn't feeling well but I understand also not trying to upstage a client) it's very iffy. But then he upstages the whole date, also mind you he was literally drinking as if he was depressed of her not being there And that's why he proudly fetches her ,has her up close to him and everything like I'm not ashamed of her and really shows how they were growing together. He apologizes for everything when they get to the office and just is so vunerable to her about Whilemina and her dad and like he said at the date the he got caught up in some stupid image. Also he was so work husband "i give you bettys word" this men is insane he let betty run that company basically. Like the way he lights up his world is crazy his reaction to bettys shut up (he loved that girl ) and the saying cojones with that smirks sir ur feelings are showing.

S1e04: Boo walter👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 his so annoying like he some how didn't want betty to prosper in life. But on the plus side justin and marc friendship starts in this episode --and the start of the trio that is betty marc and amanda so cute they had each others backs. Daniel and betty having a secret together 🥹🥹. I love the parrlells of Whilemina and betty and feym her trying to honour her Memory even though she wasn't the greatest boss to her I think that's wholesome she suggested that.

He's INSANE sir she is ur Assitance ,like what are u talking about. Betty coming all lovey dovey with "heres ur dinner must be starving " like something about her doing her job has so much love ---the undertones. "You worker hard today" in a soft tone. And everything after that has me kicking and giggling. The vunerable moments between between them is just so wholesome so the musical box mystery is addressed and one thing a white cishet men will do is cause trauma. I love their eye contact "just be careful what you say" . I know this is the building of their friendship but their chemistry is just way to good for me to ever see them that way and this early too ,like if anything the friendship they were building was between betty and marc/Whilemina. The eye contact 😭😭 like not him repeating what he said early as if to reassure her to make sure she understands that she is important to him that she could do no wrong in his eyes , she'd burn down some magazine and he'd try and find a way to defend her. This level of care he had for her is crazy like whaaa.

It had been over a year since Klaus fell into that alleyway and found himself completely lost in Dallas. Just as he managed to confess his feelings to Vicky... Of course that would happen, the little girl on the bike must really not like him.

Even though it didn't seem like he would ever meet any of his siblings again (except for Ben of course), a little voice in his head still held him back, saying they were still out there. Vicky was still out there waiting for him. Whenever he saw anything beautiful, he couldn't help remembering her and sometimes it would bring tears to his eyes.

The cult was full of attractive people who would most likely be willing to have sex with their leader. Sometimes it occurred to him the thought of sleeping with them, but always at the last second, he couldn't. He even failed to... get it up a few times, which he attributed to divine intervention. 

What really got him going was the memory of the few times he got to be with Victoria. He still remembered perfectly, the taste of her lips, the softness of her skin, the smell of her perfume. He remembered that electric sensation when she first kissed him in Vietnam, the excitement of waking up next to her, the whispered conversations they had when they thought the world was ending.

"Be alive, be alive, be alive..." he mumbled. It was taking longer than it did in Vietnam, it was getting harder and harder to hold out hope every day that passed.

"How long are you gonna stay out here pretending to meditate?" a voice called him as he sat under a tree next to the mansion. They had just returned from Greece and Klaus decided to buy the engagement ring, even though he didn't know if she would ever get to wear it.

"Hey, Justin," he turned around with a sad smile. "Why don't you sit down?"

Justin was a young man in his late 20s, tall and muscular, with wavy blonde hair and blue eyes. He had a nose that seemed sculpted and a velvety voice that could make anyone tremble. He wasn't technically part of the Destiny's Children, he was there simply because his younger (and much more gullible) brother, Matthew, decided to join about four months before that conversation took place.

He knew it was a cult, but Matthew didn't see it that way, so Justin followed wherever his brother went to protect him as they were both orphans since Justin was just a teenager. 

"Why do you say I'm pretending to meditate?" Klaus asked.

"Because I never heard the mantra be alive, it sounds more like a prayer."

"It is, but it doesn't mean I'm not meditating on it."

"Who are you praying for?" Justin asked. 

"My siblings, I think you know how that feels. I haven't seen them in so long."

Justin nodded. He didn't believe Klaus was a prophet, he didn't even believe the man knew what he was talking about most of the time, but he recognized a good person under all the bullshit and his crazy facade. That knowledge quickly turned into attraction, which quickly turned into a crush.

"I do, are you orphans too?" 

"Yeah, our father died just a while back and our mom... was crushed when our house collapsed."

"Really? Or is that more bullshit?"

"It's true. If you think all I say is bullshit then why are you still here?"

"You know why."

"Because of Marcus."

"Matthew," Justin corrected with a chuckle. "Yeah, him too."

Klaus noticed how the man looked at him, he knew that look well and it usually brought a cocky smirk to his face, but it was more complicated this time. 

First, there was Dave, then there was Vicky. Too many times he had his heart broken. Even though, he couldn't help imagining what it would be like being with Justin. A nice guy with his life somewhat together, wasn't embarrassed to demonstrate his feelings and treated him like he mattered. All of that made his heart race a little, but he would never admit it to Ben, who was always bugging him about it.

"Can I ask you a question?" Justin murmured, finally gathering the courage to say something.

"Yeah, but you'll probably say the answer is bullshit," Klaus laughed.

"Why have you never slept with anyone here? It's a house full of people, you must be attracted to at least one of them..."

"Honestly, at this point, I have no idea. It just doesn't feel right I guess."

"Is there anyone you would consider being with?" 

"Yeah, definitely."

Klaus and Justin exchanged a look. They both knew they were attracted to each other and more than that, they even liked each other, but so far none of them took the first step. 

Tired of waiting, Justin leaned in for a kiss, which Klaus reciprocated at first, but after a moment, he pulled away. 

"I- I can't," he breathed, though he hadn't felt that good in ages, he really missed the giddy feeling of being wanted and touched in that way.

"Why not?" the young man tried to not let his disappointment show.

"I'm already taken."

"By who?"

"Her name is Victoria, she's been the love of my life ever since I learned what love was. We grew up together and I knew deep inside she felt the same way, but we took too long to say anything and then I lost her. Now I don't know where she is, if she's alive, if she's doing well," Klaus' voice cracked as a tear rolled down his cheek. "There isn't one day I don't regret not saying something sooner, wasting all that time we could've spent together."

"She's a very lucky lady."

"I'm the lucky one. She's the most loving person I've ever met, she loved me when I was unlovable, when I was destroyed. I don't know what I ever did to deserve someone like her."

Saying those things out loud unlocked something in him and Klaus started sobbing for the first time in a long time. He imagined Vicky wouldn't like to see him cry and if she was alive she could probably hear him in her head, but he couldn't help it. He just missed her more than he could ever explain. He didn't feel like a person, part of him was empty, longing for that voice, that laugh. 

"It's all right!" Justin rubbed his back soothingly. "I thought you liked me... I was stupid, sorry I mixed things up."

"I do like you, that's the thing. You're very handsome and sweet, what's not to like? I just-"

"Love her."

"Yeah," Klaus breathed.

"Don't worry, I understand," he shrugged, though he was pretty much gutted as well. Even with all the sadness, he admired that devotion, it was beautiful and he hoped one day someone would feel the same way about him.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Victoria was working, dusting the display TVs while Elliott took a break. She heard loud and clear: I can't keep living without her. 

"I miss you too, Klausie," she whispered to herself.

Could someone please explain to me how we are supposed to believe bad omens appreciate or care about their fans when so many things point to the opposite? Like matt tweeting a tik tok basically making fun of female fans, the frontman totally leaves social media but doesn’t actually delete his accounts, matt has tweeted about noah rumors rather than noah himself saying anything, the same frontman seems to hate that woman find him attractive and are curious about him (like that hasn’t been happening to musicians forever), they know how popular they are becoming yet still do limited merch drops that they know aren’t going to be enough for everyone to get something and they know are going to cause fights and shit talking online, but they sure do charge a hell of a lot more than other bands and even stores for the items they sell. They even joke about the fact that fighting happens! Maybe im wrong but they are the first band i have ever seen do things like this.

Oh, hun! I have no idea how answer to that, I understand your point, but also let's face it, there are a lot of toxic female fans, no wonder why Noah left all social media and doesn't want to interact anymore, no offence but some fans treat him like fucking Justin Bieber and must be exhausting for him. About the merch, can't really say anything, I don't even like the designs so far, so I haven't buy any, but again, Noah's believers will buy whatever they drop. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The mutual attraction and sexual tension is definitely there but I do wonder how much of that is intentional on the show’s part vs Kieran and Justin just having obvious chemistry. How do you plan on doing this in throuple au? And with any future fics with the show presenting him as way more sinister a presence. Also how does this episode effect the other throuple au pairings?

When it comes to the chemistry, I'm choosing to be Watsonian about it - what's on the screen has scorching chemistry, so I'm not focused on looking at the page dead without the actors' portrayal involved. I'm not mad, FYI, just being clear. Sure, they may not have meant it that way, but they sure didn't choose to back down on Roman's connection to Mencken when they saw how Kieran and Justin played it.

So in future fics, or going forward. I meant to address this tomorrow, but it seems prudent to do so now. I sincerely think that Mencken is definitely far right, and flirts with some nasty stuff, and probably the show won't dig into it further than that, and I respect that. Here's where I say "however":

However, I think there's room to play with nuance based on dialogue from What It Takes, which is entirely what I used for characterization in YKW and going forward. I think with Mencken, he's definitely an asshole, but he's an asshole who reads. He's an asshole who knows what his opposition and what his field has to say about anything. I also think we can't entirely draw our conclusions about him based on what he says on the conservative propaganda outlet on election night. So I think he's more complex than he appears if you watch the bathroom scene, and that's why I was originally drawn to him.

So I guess that's the start of my answer; he's definitely tilting towards some bad windmills, but I also don't think he can't be reasoned with. He doesn't seem like someone who has his mind made up, and he seems open to dialogue with people he respects (which is not everyone, as we've seen). There's room there for an actual character.

Roman isn't apparently all that put off by the icky stuff, though that's not really a huge surprise, but that's just because it's not real to him. Why would it be? I don't think Roman's actively antisemitic or racist either, I just think he hasn't had reason to think past a lot of the shitty stuff Logan said and actively tried to internalize a lot of Logan's stuff so he didn't get on his bad side/almost could get on his good side.

So do Mencken and Roman wind up discussing sociopolitical things only to find that they're dragging each other in different directions and wind up somewhere new entirely? That's interesting. I think the two of them could spend a lot of time talking, not only because they're both people who talk a lot, but because they're genuinely interested in one another and respect one another.

That works for me for throuple AU and otherwise. I'm adjusting my characterization ever so slightly in general, but that might not be noticeable. These are important notes, though, ones I think I need to get out there.
