ok so joker out interviews
They tend to be quite mixed on quality, mainly based on how good the interviewer is
THAT BEING SAID
I fucking love these two one from Eurovision one from stožice by lady jenevia
youtube
youtube
Like she actually did research on them, it’s not really awkward
unfortunately no Bojan in the first one, BUT there’s like 5 seconds of mark
and no Jan, jure or Bojan for the first bit of the second one
I have like the shortest attention span to known to human kind and I have watched these back to back, multiple times, I just like them I can’t explain it
Also they look very good in both of them I’d say

On the couch with Joker Out: about the big changes in their lives
Still good, sober boys
We’ll play this and then we’re off – to switch off
The time we have with them is tightly limited, but that’s appropriate for stars of their kind. They are the most popular musical group right now, and they’ve thoroughly conquered many hearts far beyond both Slovenian and Balkan borders. At sold-out concerts, Finns are swooning because of them, Poles, Serbians, Croatians and Spaniards are fainting, not to mention the girls back home. No one prepared them for this kind of craze, but they’re holding up pretty well – they’re still humble guys with good manners, which can (also) be seen in their polite greeting and relaxed chatting in front of their rehearsal space, a comfortable hideaway somewhere between Ljubljana’s warehouses with an unappealing blue door.
Floating into their sanctuary, you almost hit your head on a collection of hanging bras with various affectionate messages written on them. A few more steps, and we plop down on the couch with Bojan Cvjetićanin and Nace Jordan. Jan Peteh and Kris Guštin (damn, he’s tall!) are busy with another camera, and Jure Maček is nowhere to be seen.
How’s your health doing with your (as it seems if you look at the crazy number of concerts all around Europe) pretty exhausting life? How do you take care of your physical fitness?
Bojan: By working out.
Nace: Well, you and I work out, the others only do it a little.
Bojan: Well yeah, she asked us.
Nace: So: we work out a lot, we play badminton, I run, we go to the gym and hike, Bojan also does mixed martial arts.
You’ve found yourselves at a turbulent stage in your career, and like you’ve said before, you cannot be fully prepared for that. What about mental preparation? Do you have to pay extra attention to that or do anything you've never done before?
Bojan: Yes, we have to rest. We haven't had any rest ever since everything became much more intense. My mind and body are now really begging to switch off.
Nace: I agree. Just the other day, we were talking about how we haven’t truly rested since the pre-Eurovision performances. Two- and three-day trips don’t count.
So you’ll only be able to turn off for a bit, after your big concert in Stožice?
Bojan: That’s right. Well, we maybe planned our break a little poorly, because we’re going on a holiday together. (both start laughing loudly)
Nace: Everyone has the same stunned reaction that you did.
You really have to love each other and have a good time together, that’s all I thought. Can you reveal where you’re going?
Bojan: Far away, somewhere warm. As to whether us going together is smart, we’ll tell you when we come back. If we end up needing another holiday after this holiday, then we didn’t make a very wise decision.
Since you really hang out with each other so much, do you perhaps understand any better why some bands get into fatal quarrels or even break up?
Bojan: We definitely understand it a lot more. In a short time, I’ve realised that this rock and roll lifestyle presented to us by rock legends (myths, stories, Hollywood) is truly something that is untenable in the long term. If we look at all the most famous bands, they actually existed for a very short time.
Nace: And, as an interesting fact, most of them broke up while on tour.
Bojan: You can’t do rock and roll and be devoted to your music, concerts, travels, if you’re constantly under the influence of any substances (drugs, alcohol). You really can’t do that, because neither the human body nor the mind are made to withstand this kind of strain, sleeplessness, pleasure, dopamine. All those legends either died young or the bands broke up. Sure, they did a lot, left a permanent mark, but at what cost? We’ve realised that if we want to enjoy what we’re doing, we have to be sober, and you truly enjoy yourself a lot more if you’re sober and feel physically and mentally ready and cultivate friendships. I think that this way, we’ll remember a lot more after a few tours than many rock legends do in their longer careers. How much can you even remember if your brain isn’t even with you on the same stage?
I see that you’re drinking plenty of water, and we remember you, Bojan, from Eurovision, when you were walking around with a bottle of water and blowing into a straw. What was that for?
Bojan: It’s a technique to warm up your vocal chords, based on the principle of blowing into a slightly wider silicone straw in a water bottle. You blow into it, in the correct way and because of the water in the bottle, a negative pressure is created that puts your vocal chords into the most natural position and it works like a massage for them.
Did you discover this for yourself or was it recommended to you?
Bojan: I had never paid special attention to my voice before that, I’m not a trained vocalist, but luckily I naturally developed the correct technique. Otherwise I would’ve lost my voice long ago. So, on the stage, this mechanism luckily developed in a very positive direction for me, which was also confirmed by singing coaches and the doctor I went to for my vocal chords check-up. A phoniatrics specialist, a wonderful guy, helped me during Eurovision. Before the Eurovision performance, my voice gave in a little due to nerves, so I was constantly in contact with a doctor – and we didn’t even really know each other – who gave me advice over the phone. Then, at the first sound check, everything opened up and sounded like it should. It’s really interesting what happens with your voice, it gets incredibly affected by your mental state. Your vocal chords can be perfectly fine, but if your mind is not in the right place, your voice won’t work either.
I also went to get advice from singing coach Nataša Nahtigal, who really helped me a lot. I especially needed that preparation from a psychological point of view.
Did the other band members also need coaches for anything?
Nace: Me and Kris also visited Nataša, because at the beginning we thought that we’d be singing the backing vocals live on the Eurovision stage. So we also practised with her a few times. We also had rehearsals with a choreographer for the optimum stage performance.
We’re having this conversation five days before your biggest concert yet, in Stožice. Does that require any special preparation?
Bojan: It’s a special concert, because it’s the first time we’re encountering the organisation of something this big; it is, after all, the only arena in the country. It’s a lot for us, Magnifico also told us that he was kind of in the dark the first time, but now they’re acclimatised to it. It’s a different type of preparation: we have to prepare the show, the lights, the stage appearance …
Have you even internalised what you’ve managed to do, all the places and the number of people you’ve played to in the past few months (from Ireland to Great Britain, Finland, Norway, Belgrade, Zagreb, Vienna, and now in December, you've got Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona …)?
Bojan: I think that will be a task for the upcoming holiday. When things just keep happening, you’re in this cycle and don’t even really differentiate between one peak and another, so we need to come down a bit to start retroactively comprehending what really happened. Because it’s really wonderful. We were in cities and countries we’d never been to, and then we were there – to play our own sold-out concerts. We absolutely never thought anything like that would ever happen to us.
Nace: Often it’s only when I come home from this kind of tour that I think to myself: wow, look at where we were! We’re playing on a stage where world legends had played before us! Now, in the club in Helsinki, Foo Fighters and AC/DC had played there, among others. Any musician would wish to play there, let alone sell out that concert.
When you walk around these European cities where you have sold out your concerts, do people already recognise you on the street?
Bojan: It’s pretty bizarre, but now they’ve really started to. I think that on this Nordic tour there truly wasn’t any place we went to without at least someone recognising us – either on a train, on the street, in a restaurant, at the airport. Foreign fan culture is a little different, as they get prepared to meet us, in a way – for example, they know when we’ll be at the airport, and they wait for us with gifts, they don’t just come to take photos with us. They bring along our merch shirts, various things for us to sign, they give us gifts. Fans make a lot of things on their own – bracelets, dolls, there are a lot of drawings, crafts; I have two knitted Joker Out scarves at home.
Nace: In Finland we got a lot of knitted socks, hats …
Hand-knitted socks?
Bojan: Yes, with a Slovenian and Finnish flag, for example.
The Scandinavian youth are clearly well-versed in that.
Bojan: Let’s go, Slovenian youth, start knitting Joker Out stuff too! (laughter)
And what is it like to walk down the streets of Slovenia? Can you go to the store in peace?
Bojan: It’s nice to walk down the streets of Slovenia, but we truly always get recognised, that’s a fact, it’s not as inconvenient in stores as it can be when you’re out for drinks, when you constantly feel like someone is eavesdropping next to you.
How difficult is the rockstar life?
Bojan: It’s really nice – every time we’re on the stage, the audience rewards us with a really nice energy, you can’t compare that to anything else, but like any profession, ours has negative sides as well, with the biggest difference being that you’re constantly in the public eye. Very few things are truly personal – you also have a hard time judging for yourself what’s private and what’s not. It’s more of a mental game with yourself – that’s the hardest part of it all. As well as not sleeping, because you travel a lot.
Are there any big disappointments or unexpected things – perhaps that some fans get “carried away” or that not everyone is as well-intentioned as you thought?
Bojan: Absolutely! You suddenly find yourself not only belonging to a home crowd, but also becoming an internet hashtag. The internet has no limits, people have no reservations there, they hide behind a nickname. Each of us has definitely had a few of these moments that shocked us, that’s why we’ve started to pull back from social media.
That’s probably pretty tricky: for the sake of advertising and contact with fans, you have to be present on social media, but meanwhile you’re aware that you need to take a step back for the sake of your health. How do you stay on the safe side? What’s your strategy?
Nace: Primarily, we’ve all stopped reading Twitter, the comments … We have to maintain a certain distance.
Bojan: To be completely honest, I’d like to find someone who could handle my personal profile on social media. It also bothers me that you really waste a lot of time on social media and subconsciously create a lot of unrealistic expectations, because you’re constantly swiping through people’s perfect lives, faces and situations, it’s all quite absurd.
Do you want to influence teenagers in this area, to pass any important messages on to them?
Bojan: Yes, find some wonderful analogue way to follow us and delete your social media.
So, knit a Joker Out scarf or socks instead and listen to their music – that’s pretty analogue. Then, you can also do a charity auction of your fans’ knitwear.
Bojan: Exactly!
One small revolutionary move would also be if concerts or gigs at various parties started earlier. Us slightly more mature citizens also like to go to concerts, but we also like to go to bed a little earlier.
Bojan: I can say that after our Stožice concert, people will be able to be asleep by midnight. But actually, when we were abroad, we got used to gigs starting very soon – sometime between seven and nine in the evening – and the party is definitely not any worse because of that.
You say that you’re full of creative energy. Does your creative process continue under the covers too, do you have notebooks on your nightstand?
Bojan: All the ideas come to me just before I go to sleep. The most recent song Sunny Side of London also happened on the last day before we went to the studio – I couldn’t sleep and I came up with those base lyrics while in bed.
Even though your latest song is in English, due to most of your songs being in Slovenian, you’ve unintentionally become ambassadors of the Slovenian language as well.
Bojan: It was never our goal to become ambassadors of the Slovenian language, but we consciously decided to sing in Slovenian at Eurovision. It means a lot to us, and we hope that our fans will accept that we want to widen our listener base and that there will be some more songs in English because of that. I think that people all around Europe or even further singing twenty of our songs in Slovenian is already a lot, and shows that we’ve done our job. In the future, we’ll create in foreign languages a lot, but we’ll also stay loyal to Slovenian.
A lot of your TV appearances can be found translated to English on the internet. Is that your doing?
Bojan: No, the credit for that goes to a group of fans from all around the world called “Joker Out Subs”, who follow our videos and concerts and translate into quite a few global languages (recently even into Hebrew). They’ve already translated a huge amount of our content, and they do it voluntarily. They’ve also connected with each other in that way, and they’ve told us that 20 of our fans, who met online because of us, booked a house together for our concert in Amsterdam (in December). They’re all coming to the concert and they will stay there together.
Nace: A lot of people have connected like that because of us, which is very nice.
What’s it like at home? Is everything the same at home despite your stardom?
Bojan: Yes, it’s all the same – go mow the lawn!
Nace: I, for example, still drive my grandmother around to run her errands.
And your grandmother listens to your songs?
Nace: She’s definitely listened to some, but I doubt that she’s playing our entire discography. (laughter)
Bojan: Oooh, mine plays it every day, she goes through everything 150 times!
Have you made any changes to your menus?
Bojan: I’ve started eating vegetables – bowls (various healthy ingredients, served in one bowl), Nace got me into that.
Nace: Isn’t it nice to savour something together that’s healthy and that we all like? (Kris pipes up from the background, saying that Nace has gotten them all into Asian food.)
Translation of the captions on the photos:
1) The special friendship with Finnish Eurovision representative Käärijä continues. Together on Finnish stages in September.
2) Bojan loves Swedish girls, says the writing on his shirt.

29 for bojere ❤
Apologies for the delay, Anon, but thank you for the prompt and I hope you enjoy it! (It got very long...)
Waking up the morning after their second Helsinki gig was never going to be a fun experience, but having that knowledge didn’t make it any easier. Bojan groaned, resisting the urge to pull the pillow over his head and block out everything until he ran out of time, and reached for his phone. 9 am. OK, so that was something at least – their ferry wasn’t until the early afternoon, so there was still time before he needed to throw everything in his suitcase and leave Finland behind. Leave Jere behind, you mean, a snide little voice needled him in the back of his mind. Bojan dropped his phone back on the bedside table and at least allowed himself to bury his face in the pillow instead. The other side of the bed was empty but judging by the rattling and clanking coming from next door, Jere was in the kitchen. He’s talking to himself – muttering, really – in that way that Bojan’s learned that he does, narrating his own life in rolling Finnish as he goes about his day. Bojan doesn't do well alone – never has, truth be told – and he knows it. It's why his time as a solo artist was so short lived, and why he'd asked Kris to take Martin’s old room when he moved in with his partner. There's just something comforting about having someone else nearby, even when they're in the next room doing their own thing. For a moment, he lets his mind wander; lets himself believe that this is just a normal morning in a normal day, with nowhere they need to be an nothing they need to do. He can follow Jere into the kitchen, waste time trading lazy kisses with no urgency for them to go further, share a leisurely breakfast just the two of them. They can take a stroll together, binge Netflix, order a takeaway, just enjoy all the time they have together doing the most mundane things. The door creaks, snapping him out of it. Of course, none of that can happen – he's got somewhere to be. Sighing, he turns to look round at Jere, who’s shuffling into the room with a mug in each hand. “Bojan, you're awake.” He pulls himself up so he's sitting against the headboard and nods. The sight of Jere swamped in a hockey shirt and sweatpants, hair ruffled and feet bare, is so domestic that it brings a lump to his throat and he doesn't quite trust himself to speak. If Jere notices he says nothing. He passes Bojan one of the mugs, the one patterned with gaudy orange and pink flowers. He’d presented Bojan with it in the autumn, proudly announcing “It is you” before tripping over the word “shagadelic” three times and dissolving into laughter. The fact that he's remembered and kept this eyesore of a mug safe for his return months and an apartment move later – that it wasn't just a one-off joke – makes his throat hurt even more. For a long moment he just focuses on sipping his scalding coffee and Jere does the same. The silence is almost peaceful, almost not loaded. It’s Jere who breaks it. “I tell Joker guys I get you back in one piece.” Bojan remembers – he was there for every one of the increasingly dramatic promises that Jere had made to his bandmates at the end of each night they’d been in Helsinki. It had started simply enough, swearing that he’d make sure Bojan didn’t spend all night out and about at the city’s clubs (accomplished – they’d gone straight back to Jere’s still-new-to-Bojan apartment) and that he’d force him to abide by vocal rest (debatable – it was probably for the best they’d not run into any of Jere’s neighbours so far), but had gradually morphed into a list of all the possible risks Jere would guard him from, from hysterical fans to rampaging moose to – at Jure’s particular insistence – rabid Moomins.
“So, I feed you and bring you back to hotel. All laundry in case this time, yes?”
Bojan nods again, sipping at his coffee. He’d accepted his errant clothes back from Jere at the start of the trip with just as much ceremony as they’d been presented to him and stowed them away safely already. Of course, if one of Jere’s t-shirts had happened to bury itself in there underneath everything else, he wasn’t going to mention it. "And then me and Hӓӓrijӓ bring you all to ferry to make sure you are there OK. Good plan, yes?” He can see from the corner of his vision that Jere is ducking slightly, trying to catch his eye, and has no choice but to look up. It makes it all the worse, just as he’d known it would. He wonders if Jere will look so calm when they say goodbye. Probably not, even in public at the port; definitely not when they say their real goodbye to each other here before stepping out of the front door. He’s got past evidence to go off of, of course, and knows as soon as he lets everything show in his face he won’t be able to stop. So he just doesn’t. “But then I think you have not been to Tallinn before.” Jere carries on, slow and deliberate and too thoughtful. He’s not quite tapping his chin in consideration, but it’s a close call. “Maybe you not know your way around. You don’t find venue, you miss gig, fans angry, end of band. Not good. Bojan is too pretty not to be star.”
Despite everything, Bojan feels the tug of a smile at the corner of his lips. Jere having an absurd tangent for all occasions is nothing new to him – it was one of the first things that had drawn him to him at the pre-parties, even if the earliest ones had mainly been through gestures and miming – but he can’t help but be amused by it each and every time.
Then Jere is suddenly pulling his phone out from his pocket, swiping through it as he reaches out to put his mug on the bedside table. It takes him a moment to find what he’s looking for, but as soon as he lands on it he’s passing the phone to Bojan with a triumphant “So, I book this.” Bojan blinks at the screen, still cradling his coffee in one hand. It’s a ferry ticket. “You’re coming with us to Tallinn?” It’s there in black and white in front of him, but he can’t help his words still coming out as a question. He checks the timing of the email and sees it came through yesterday just before the end of their gig. It’s clearly a spur of the moment decision and Bojan loves him for it. “Yes, yes. I will be guide for you, me and Hӓӓrijӓ. Show you all the best kebab van and kareoke.” His face splits into a full-blown grin as he passes back the phone. “Alika’s going to be happy to see you too.” Jere nods enthusiastically. “Yes, I think maybe we get big cake to celebrate. And I will jump out for surprise!” And suddenly, with their goodbye pushed back – only by a day, just forty eight hours, but forty eight more hours than we had just a moment ago – it’s so easy to dissolve into laughter, to lose themselves in such a ridiculous idea, to just be them. Bojan is a split second away from asking if Jere knows any Estonian bakers who might be willing and able to whip up a giant decoy cake at such short notice when suddenly Jere gets himself under control enough to swipe again through his phone and hold it out. “But then also I book this.” He accepts the phone again, glances down at the screen and promptly freezes. He feels lightheaded all of a sudden, barely able to make out anything past ‘Helsinki-Vantaa’, ‘Ljubljana’, and ‘5 May’. “Jere, what – ” His voice catches in his throat and all he can do is stare at him, wide-eyed. For his part, Jere is deliberately nonchalant, but Bojan can see the tension in his shoulders blaring his nervousness out to the whole world. “I have album to work on, but only one gig. I check with the guys and they say you have time then. But is just me, not Hӓӓrijӓ, so maybe they are disappointed.” “I can’t believe it – I – ” He shakes his head. There’s too much to say to be able to wrangle it into a sentence or two. “I want this to work. I want that we know when we will see each other, not just...” Jere seems to run out of words, resorting to scrunching up his face and gesturing vaguely, but Bojan knows what he means. “And you come here now three times. I do not make it to London – ” “That’s not your fault, you were busy.” The words may be true and well-worn by now through all the times he’s repeated them to himself and others, but they still weigh heavily in Bojan’s mouth as he swallows down the lingering disappointment he can see reflected in Jere’s face. “But still, I do not come. I do not want you to think I don’t care. I want I see you in your home and be part of your life.” He hesitates slightly, then continues, quieter and less certain, “If... if that is OK.” “OK?” Bojan can’t believe those are actual words that have just left the other man’s mouth. “Jere, that’s... I... yes, I want that too. I just can’t believe it.” Jere’s phone slips from Bojan’s hand as he starts forward, hands cupping Jere’s face and reeling him in for a kiss that tastes of sleep and coffee and him all at once. It ends up not being one kiss so much as several, pressed in quick succession against Jere’s mouth as he sighs and relaxes into Bojan, combing his hair back and trailing down his neck. “I promise this is not the only time.” he murmurs against Bojan’s lips when they part for a second, foreheads pressed together. Their next kiss is deeper, starting slower than the others though it doesn’t stay that way for long as Bojan pulls Jere down again to the mattress with him. Their coffee grows cold on the bedside table, but neither of them notice.

AN: yes, another one. Again, I’m really sorry but I hope you guys enjoy.
AN2: I really should be studying for my finals but I keep procrastinating. Somebody send help, please.
Warnings: none, honestly, just fluff. I’m gonna say maybe bad English, I’m trying.

BOJAN’S GIRLFRIEND LETTING HER INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS WIN (mostly about Bojan) FOR 3 MINUTES AND 12 SECONDS STRAIGHT
*first clip*
The singer was sitting down in front of the camera next to Kris, talking while filming one of their vlogs, when the girl appeared, sitting down by his side.
He was wearing a sleeveless shirt, as it was warm and he didn’t want to be sweating. You could see the girl staring at his arms, though; it looked like she had just woke up from a nap. Bojan kept talking.
“Ang.” She bit his shoulder.
He didn’t even react, just kept having his conversation with Kris. The latter looked at her and then at his bandmate, mouth agape in shock.
“What is going on?”
*second clip*
Bojan and his girlfriend were being interviewed for the fans, as they wanted to know how their relationship started and how it was going since then.
“Who takes more time to get ready?”
“It’s him! He does!” She said, pointing at him and smirking.
“That’s not- alright maybe it is true,” he gave in, nodding his head and awkwardly smiling, “but it’s mostly because my hair takes a lot of time to be tamed, honestly.”
As if it had a mind of its own, a strand of his hair fell on his face, but he kept making excuses as to why he was the one who spent more time in the bathroom when they had to go out.
The girl kept staring at it, exchanging looks between the camera, the interviewer and her boyfriend. She continued being laser focused on the lock of hair that was slightly covering his left eye.
With one last glance at the camera and the interviewer, she extender her arm and carefully removed the piece of hair, pulling it to a better position so it wouldn’t be on his face.
He looked at her. “Thank you, love.”
She smiled and mused his hair up, laughing loudly. He sighed with a ‘done’ look on his face.
*third clip*
The Joker Out guys were talking during an interview, having sweets to munch on in between questions and topics.
In that moment, Jure was holding part of a KitKat in his hand, talking passionately about ‘Demoni’ and how they had come up with the idea of the music video.
The girl was watching them behind the camera, having a good time making faces at the boys during serious moments so they would crack a smile when they shouldn’t.
However, right in that moment, she was craving chocolate really badly. And that’s when she noticed the KitKat in Jure’s hand.
She quietly approached them, went into view for the camera just behind the boys and snatched the chocolate out of the blond’s hand.
“Aha!” She shouted with an evil laugh, munching on the KitKat and leaving the frame.
Everyone just looked at each other for a few seconds and bursted out laughing. All except for Jure, who tried keeping a pout on his lips while fake sobbing.
“My KitKat!”
*fourth clip*
“This is another video in the series of ‘baking with Jan’! Where I get stressed and he looks like he’s high!”
“What?!”
“What? It rhymes.”
*fifth clip*
Nace was explaining a story about them in the beach, playing with a giant yoga ball.
“So I tried to take it back to the sand but the ball was just too big…” everyone was chuckling, remembering how he had been chasing the ball around in the water.
“That’s what she said,” she whispered while giggling.
“Hey!” Nace pushed her shoulder away from him, “Stop it!”
*sixth clip*
The camera was angled so you could see both the girl, preparing the oven, and Jan, mixing the cookie dough on a bowl.
“Make sure it’s well mixed,” she told him, getting up from her crouched position.
“I know what I’m doing,” he replied, glancing at her briefly.
Jan went to grab the cookie cutters when he deemed it was well mixed enough, making the mistake of leaving the dough alone.
She instantly scooped some of it onto her finger and spread it on his face right when he turned around.
The video cuts and the camera focuses again on the two throwing the mixture at each other, the bowl now empty and cookie dough all over them.
The video cuts again and it comes back to her licking dough from her hand, taking from her face and eating it happily.
“You are disgusting,” Jan let’s out with a breathy laugh, distaste in his face.
“You are definitely not!” She goes towards him with grabby hands, “let me lick it off you, too!”
“No!” He moves away, going off camera.
*seventh clip*
Kris was in the background of Nace and Jure talking in front of the camera in one of their vlogs, mindlessly strumming his guitar.
Bojan and his girlfriend appeared from the right, moving towards the younger with the idea of sitting next to him.
They sat down but you could see the girl watching as Kris played with a fond look in her face and a soft smile.
She took Kris’ hand and, after making sure he left his guitar so it wouldn’t fall, dragged him towards the camera.
“Everyone this is my son,” she stated, making the guys look at her weirdly and Bojan laugh loudly, “if anything happened to him I would kill everyone and then myself.”
“What are you on?” Jan suddenly spoke up from somewhere in the room, not visible to the camera.
“He’s a child, just look at him.” She grabs his face with both hands and smushes his cheeks together, Kris chuckling and trying to pull away, unsuccessfully. “Isn’t he just so cute? I wanna put him in my pocket but he’s really tall and I can’t,” she added with a devastated look, pressing her hand to her chest and feigning being hurt.
“You got yourself a special one, man,” Nace said towards Bojan, who was still laughing obnoxiously.
He stood up and went towards his girlfriend and Kris, putting his arm around his shoulder and leaning on the taller boy.
“I will go for the adoption papers,” he said with a serious face, turning to her and breaking into a smile.
“They’re both coo-coo,” Jure says to the camera, making circle shapes with his finger near his head.
*eighth clip*
Bojan is talking to the camera while in the behind-the-scenes of their latest music video, wearing a big coat, making it clear that it’s really cold outside.
His girlfriend walks into view, with another huge coat, a woolly hat and gloves.
She suddenly squishes him really close to her in a hug, making it possible to hear the air leaving his lungs.
“What is going on?” He asks, strained and confused at the sudden affection, forgetting about the camera.
“You just look so squishable it’s unfair!” She answers, hugging him even tighter if possible.
*ninth clip*
Bojan and Jan are near the swimming pool, but fully clothed, talking about their next tour to his phone, as the comments can be seen going up from the bottom left of the screen.
“Can you get me a glass of water?” Bojan asks his girlfriend, not wanting to stop his conversation with Jan.
She leaves the frame of the camera and the conversation goes on, slowing to a stop when she comes back staring at Bojan.
“What?”
He goes to take the glass from her but she’s faster, moving it over his head and pouring its contents all over him, making him open his mouth in shock.
“I’m sorry,” she giggles, covering her own mouth with her hand.
He stands up and Jan takes his phone, pointing the camera towards them, sensing that something funny is going to happen.
He’s right, of course, Bojan picks her up by her waist and throws himself (with her) in the swimming pool, effectively drenching them both.
“Bojan!” She shouts, both of them laughing loudly and Jan’s chuckling being heard from behind the camera.
*tenth clip*
They’re in the van while Bojan and his girlfriend are answering questions from fans in an Instagram live.
“What do you guys call each other?” She reads, immediately following it up with, “I call him daddy.”
“No, she does not,” he shakes his head profusely, moving towards the camera.
“I would call him daddy if he let me,” she corrects herself, getting closer to the camera to read the comments.
“Stop,” he laughs as he gently pushes her smirking head away.
“Someone said it’s a good nickname!”
“That was me,” says Jure, moving so he can be seen on the screen.
She pouts and looks at Bojan.
“What do I usually call you?”
“I call her love, sweetheart; and she…,” he trails off and turns to her, “I don’t know, what do you like calling me?”
“I know!” She exclaims happily, “waffles, cupcake, pie, pumpkin,… yes.” She nods to herself.
“That’s definitely not it,” he retorts, raising an eyebrow at her, “why are all of them high-calorie foods, anyway?”
“What? Do you want me to call you my little celery stick or something?”
Somebody laughs in the background at that.
“I hate you.”
“No, you don’t sugarplum,” she smirks again, watching as he’s trying to stop himself from laughing.
“You’re right, I don’t honey bun.”
All of them burst into a loud, chaotic laugh.
*end of the video*

🙋 I'm interested in your analysis of Nace's accent! Always interested in language.
Gosh, why do I promise to do things I know barely anything about...
Anyway, strap in kids, we are going to learn stuff about JO's dialects today.
First up, it's important to note that for how small Slovenia is and how few people speak the language, we have SO MANY dialects. I literally come out of a village of merely 2000 inhabitants, but our dialect is different from the neighbouring village's, which has 3500 inhabitants. In total, Slovene has 7 dialect groups and over 40 dialects in total.
So, in short about JO, before I disect Nace's accent: Kris and Bojan (and Martin) come from Ljubljana, which definitely has its own dialect. Often, Slovenes will call inhabitants of Ljubljana 'žabarji' (frog people) because Ljubljana itself is a marsh. And also because instead of using the nice Slovene 'Kaj?' to ask 'What?', a person from Ljubljana might say 'Kwa?' (don't know how legit this still is, again, please remember that I study English, NOT Slovene).
Jan and Jure come from Vrhnika and Logatec respectively. These two towns (at least in my eyes) belong to Notranjska, a very often ignored 'region' (Slovenia does not have official regions). Most people place us under Ljubljana, some place us with the karstic area, but I come from Notranjska, and goddamn, in my eyes they do as well! While there are many stereotypes about almost every Slovene region, also regarding speech, there really ain't that much about Notranjska. I also can't say that I've heard Jan and Jure talk enough to pinpoint them, or I'm just shit with dialects.
HOWEVER
In the recent episode of Welcome to the Backstage, Jure is trying to teach a British girl how to say Logatec. And he kinda pronounces it with an H (Lohatec), which I have definitely heard people from his area do. He also mentions Horjul, which is kinda close to Logatec and the girl is baffled at how to pronounce it. There are worse villages pronunciation-wise Logatec though, Grčarevec and Hotedršica, to name a few.
Okay, now I've let out my regional pride, let's finally get to Nace. The bassist of Joker Out comes from Gorenjska (the north-west of Slovenia) and yes, his accent is thick, but almost everyone from Gorenjska has a very noticeable accent, much like Štajerska. Now, I won't go too much into detail, but probably the best description of a Gorenjska accent is "it's like they have a golf ball stuck in their throat and are trying to get it out with the way they talk." And yeah, I deffo hear that with Nace.
I know I also mentioned 'ejga' in my tags and I can't not mention it again. It has no real meaning as it is a filler which can be placed both at the end and beginning of sentences. And it's highly typical for the Gorenjska region and I doubt my life will be complete until I hear Nace say it.
So as you can imagine, the Gorenjska dialect won't be winning any awards for sexiest Slovene dialect, but there are worse out there.
*slaps knee and takes a shot of schnaps of questionable origins*
Anon, hope this was fun, it definitely was fun for me, ejga.

bokris 46 😈😈😈
Glad I sat on this one until today and that Damon Baker Instagram story!
This is probably not in my universe.
46. …out of envy or jealousy.
It would be worse if Kris didn't feel like he mostly had himself to blame.
After all, it was his birthday party where Damon brought out the cake. Him who had the first photoshoot with the world-famous photographer. His head that was on Damon's shoulder in the Instagram post when they were all in Slovenia together.
But it's hard to remember how much Kris himself was responsible for juicing the narrative when Damon is sitting in Bojan's lap and Bojan is looking at Damon like that.
Bojan smiles as Damon leans in, and Kris tries not to grit his teeth as Jan snaps the photo and texts it to Damon. When the tell-tale buzz of Damon's pocket indicates that the text has been delivered, Damon grins widely and stands up and wanders into the other room as he takes his phone out and composes his Instagram post.
"Cute," Kris says, clipped, as Bojan sits back up and grins at Kris.
"It is, isn't it?" Bojan agrees. "Next we really will have to post a photo of us kissing."
"I don't see why," Kris says, his mouth running on autopilot. "It's not as if it will mean anything."
Bojan's eyebrows shoot up. "Since when have kisses meaning anything stopped any of us from locking lips?" he asks, gesturing around the room to the other Joker Out members, who nod along in agreement.
"I'm just saying," Kris says, trailing off as he realizes that he actually doesn't know what he was just saying. What is the point of this conversation? Why is he so discomfited at someone sitting on Bojan's lap - something they all do to each other basically every day?
Bojan stands up. "I'm going to go ask Damon what he wants for lunch so we can all order together," he announces, and when he says the word "Damon", something in Kris's brain goes haywire and he's striding across the room toward Bojan. He grabs Bojan's chin in his hand and plants a kiss on Bojan's lips before the other man can do anything about it.
Kris can feel Bojan's face contort in shock, but he doesn't move away, just lets Kris do what he wants, and Kris takes full advantage, kissing Bojan with all he's got until the rest of his brain catches up with him, screeching oh no what have you done the whole time.
Kris pulls back from Bojan as Jan cackles, "Got it. Man, you two. Looks like it means something in this photo, at least."
Kris looks Bojan dead in the eyes. "Guess you're going to have to top that if you want to 'lock lips' with Damon and post the photo, huh," he says, and strides out of the room with a confidence he does not feel.

Joker out pride project! I have a battle tactic for all upcoming chapters. I accidentaly made stuff quite Kris + Jan centric. However, Bojan and Nace will make their first appearances on the fifth and sixth respectively. Jure will have his first chapter at some point obviously, but I might move it so not sure when it will happen.
Anyways. Click here for ao3 version.
June 3rd, prompt 10. Queerplatonic Relationship.
As Jan and Kris start having guitar lessons together, they also start becoming really good friends. Jan lives all the way out in Vrhnika and relies on buses to get to and from guitar practice. Kris makes a habit out of walking past the bus station just in time to see Jan's bus pull up to the stop. With guitar cases on their backs, they then walk to their lesson together. The lessons are good. Like, really good. After only a few weeks their teacher says that it would be a good idea for them to start a band together. Kris isn't sure, they'd need a good singer, a bass and drums. But she isn't entirely opposed to the idea.
Either way, when the lessons are over, they tend to keep hanging out. Usually they either go to the nearby café, or to Kris’ house. Sometimes, when the weather is warm, they sit on a stretch of grass not too far from the bus station. There, they talk about everything. It's there that Kris tells Jan she's been thinking about that word, bisexual, and that it might be what she is. It's also there Jan tells Kris about the first boy he ever kissed, and the boy he had kissed just four days before, in an alley, next to some litter bins.
Kris isn't jealous, definitely not. She does not want to kiss someone next to a litter bin. But she wishes she could have some of that courage that Jan has. He doesn't seem to care what others think, that people stare at his long hair and pride pins. When Kris had been younger, she hadn't cared at all, but it was getting more difficult. Just last month, Kris’ mum had said it was time for Kris to get her first real bra. When she was younger, she had cried whenever her parents suggested girly clothes. Now, she had simply accepted it and gone shopping with her mum. She still hated the normal bra though, and wore the sports bra they'd bought almost every day instead.
One day, when Kris and Jan are sitting at the café, Kris starts telling Jan about this really annoying kid at school.
“Do you know Bojan Cvjetićanin? He's in the year above me at school, and sings in that Apokalipsa band. Apparently they're going to play Led S Severa in front of the entire school, and you know what they do? They play it with distortion! And my dad doesn't even care that this Bojan kid has ruined his song”. Kris expects Jan to say something about how annoying Bojan is. Instead, an amused look appears on his face.
“I think you should ask him out”, Jan says, and it catches Kris so of guard that it feels like her brain needs a reboot.
“Who, Bojan? Why would I ask him out? I don't like him!” Kris finally manages to say.
“Sure, whatever. Just give me 5 euros the day you two get married. Now come on, follow me to the bus stop”.

Kris Guštin moments as girl in red songs but this time I actually explain why
(some of the lyrics are cut off bc of the crop so open the pics if you want to fully see them)
1. we fell in love in october: being an Apokalipsa fan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Looking at the stars / admiring from afar" - looking at the band from the crowd, not yet a part of it
"At least i know, I am here to stay" - retrospectively (or not) knowing that this band is It for him, for one reason or another
"You will be my world" - looking back since Apokalipsa grew into Joker Out which DID end up becoming his whole world
2. Body And Mind: Damon Baker photoshoot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
saying that the photoshoot was like a therapy session, letting his guard down and being vulnerable during it and thus in the resulting pictures as well
3. midnight love: saying he is always in the shadow of his father or bojan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Say I'm not your consolation prize" and "I can't be your second best / close but not your favourite" - he is almost always talked about in relation to either his father or Bojan (maybe wanting to be seen as his own person)
4. Apartment 402: laying on the studio floor
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this one is just silly, he is on the floor (again) because he fell there
5. it would feel like this: him playing piano
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the song is mostly a piano and Kris does sometimes play piano
6. two queens in a king sized bed: writing vse kar vem
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"All my time is yours to spend / let me wrap you in with my skin" and "The closer, the better it gets / so let's stay right here / until forever disappears" - extremely vse kar vem coded (Kris did write some of the song so I'm counting it)
7. bad idea!: his general existence
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Darling, you're so pretty, it hurts" - tell me that line was not written about him
"Was such a bad idea, I can't get enough" - him saying that he is his own Katrina (someone who hurt you but you keep going back)
8. girls: being a lesbian icon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is less about Kris and more about the fact that the lesbians love him (but I think he would agree that girls are pretty)
9. say anything: his fuckass ig captions
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Say anything to me" - he will just say Anything. let's not say.
10. 4am: having to-do lists and disliking changes to the schedule
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I'm thinking too much again" - the same anxiety vibes as him having a to-do list and liking being on time and disliking changes to the schedule

An analysis of the funny lil gremlin:
Jevil is a pretty facinating character. He's gotten obviously overshadowed by characters like Spamton. Which is justified as Jevil played an admittedly insignificant role on the plot of chapter 1 and was more confined to his role as a "secret boss" than Spamton, who did play SOME role in the plot (even though he kinda barged into it) and had a much more fleshed out backstory than Jevil. Though the clown man does play a pretty important role in the bigger picture of the game by introducing the theme of freedom in characters other than Kris, and setting the predecent of future secret bosses exploring said themes of freedom.
Jevil's whole "I'm the only one free and everybody else is the one trapped" thing is kinda odd, but it starts to make sense when you really think about it. Gaster, or whoever it was that drove him to insanity most likely gave him some degree of knowledge of the nature of Deltarune. (Or at least a bit MORE knowledge, as even regular darkners seem to be a little aware that their world works on video game logic- ie. the tutorial puzzle guys- Lancer and his sign telling you not to take the darkfruit) This is a videogame. With main characters, npc's, and a set storyline everything is supposed to follow. Everybodies actions are dictated by the plot, the creators, (toby fox) and everything in this world isn't even for the darkners or the lightners. Everything is just for the convinience and enjoyment of some otherworldly being. (the player) Nobody can choose their own fate in this world. Nothing anybody does truly matters because the story will find SOME way to keep going. (take the weird route as a prime example of that)
This knowledge obviously broke Jevil, but his mind rationalized it in an extremely strange way. If nothing he does matters, than that means he could technically do anything. There are no consequences. At least to him. This is what he means by "being free." He is free from the limitations of society, responsibility, morality. This, of course, led to him doing whatever he did to get himself thrown into prison. A prison separated from even the ones in the normal basement.
Though, even faced with obvious consequences, Jevil was way too deep in his insanity. Being stuck in a prison alone defnitely didn't help his mental state either. That's part of what makes Jevil scary in my opinion. He's somebody with absolutely no restraints. He has absolutely nothing to lose and nothing to gain from fighting you. He just does it because he's desperate for SOMETHING to happen after probably years of being stuck and alone.
He represents the joker card (I mean it's pretty obvious, but is there anything actually confirming he's the joker card?) pretty well, with all that said. Obviously there's the whole thing of "being abandoned," as typically for most card games, (there are actually games that require the joker card) the joker is set aside without being used. And also to my knowledge, joker cards can be used for pretty much any purpose you want. They can replace a missing card on a deck, be used in magic tricks, be put in the bottom of the deck to prevent anybody from seeing the bottom card, or even be something like a "skip card," forcing a player to skip their turn. It's specifically because of their lack of functionality and adherence to the 4 suites of the deck that they are able to [I CAN DO ANYTHING!] I found that pretty cool.
I also find it interesting that Spamton seems to have the exact opposite mindset as Jevil. Jevil probably(?) didn't have to struggle too much to get his position as court Jester. Even before he went crazy, he most likely always was just a little goofball who just happened to get the attention of the king with his antics. In contrast, Spamton most defnitely struggled a lot to even keep himself afloat - Wondering why all the other addisons seem to be doing fine, when he was (probably) doing the exact same thing. (at least before gaster/the mysterious entity) He was most likely given the same knowledge the entity gave Jevil, and he absolutely hated it. He actively tried to fight against it, unlike Jevil who basically embraced the idea of a world where your choices don't matter and used it as an excuse to do whatever the hell he wants. Spamton didn't want to be confined to a story. This... game. He desperately wanted freedom, and he would do anything to get it. Even when he failed he would keep trying. After all, perseverence did let him become a big shot, even for a little while, so he just had to keep trying... right? Uhh... this wasn't supposed to be a Spamton analysis, but I just found that contrast cool.
All in all, Jevil and Spamton set a really interesting precedent for the future secret bosses and I'm excited to find out how toby fox handles the next one and how that boss will tie in to the whole freedom theme.

München, 04.12.23
okay! now that I've actually managed to arrive home from Munich and had the day to calm down for a bit, I'm just gonna link xia's munich report here (because it includes most of the important bits) and add some of the stuff that I keep thinking about
Watching the Khäärijä OF videos during queueing was so funny because everyone was caught between feeling slightly embarrassed and really interested
I arrived later but apparently Kris and Jan (I think) walked through the wrong door and the queue had to show them where to go into the venue
the queue system worked perfectly and I can't thank all the people responsible for it enough for implementing it
I know people have been talking about how Nace has this energy when he's right in front of you and I get it now. I do. When he was close I had my own "oh." moment about him. like, wow.
Bojan was in such a good mood, joking around and telling stories and really looking like he was enjoying the concert and being close to the crowd
Bojan during plastika holding a pride flag “don't be plastic, be fantastic”
During queueing I jokingly suggested that I was gonna clap the rhythm to vem da greš which they did during the nordic tour but stopped doing afterwards; what I didn't consider was that I was so close to the stage that Bojan actually noticed me doing it and proceeded to give me the softest smile. I can't tell you what having his full attention does to a person because, phew. don't think I'll ever recover
When Bojan caught the bracelets people were admiring him for it and he very loftily said “so does anyone want to throw a baseball?” before being bombarded by other gifts. his face really changed from being suave to slight panic in only a few seconds, that was a really funny thing to experience (it wasn't a bad panicked face, no worries)
there were a bunch of Slovenian people in the crowd and Bojan really enjoyed bantering with them
I think someone said it already but I want to stress how funny it was that they only made it to Munich because the organiser booked their flight to Memmingen. like why would you do that. it did save them though
Okay, just a bit of bokris stuff (because they are always in my heart after all, even if they decide to bully me whenever I'm in the crowd)
yes kris didn't sing ngvot (that's my curse, apparently) but in contrast to wrocław there was an actual conversation going on where Kris told Bojan to sing it which was cute
Bojan caressed Kris's chest at some point and I'm so sad I didn't get that on video because it was really soft
I think after Vienna Bojan's convinced that “Zugabe” is a literal translation of “one more” because he kept repeating it so often lol
after the encore Bojan apparently took the wrong exit and had to bolt across the stage to the other door making everyone turn around in confusion
I know this report is very Bojan focused but he really just draws you in, in particular in the middle. like you just have to give him your attention and while I also enjoy being at the back, being at the front and having no choice but to be focused on him is also really an experience
(I can't thank xia enough for buying the jo sweater for me because for one second i forgot that I was in Germany and could only pay in cash and nearly had a breakdown thinking I couldn't get it. I'm living in that sweater now, btw.)
the crew were really trying to get us to leave after the show like repeating “what are you standing around here, the band is gone” and while I get it, it was very funny considering that we weren't actively waiting for them and just got caught up in conversation (and Bojan and Nace posting the Hojan shirt)
... this might've turned out longer than I expected, I think Turku will always be my favourite because it was my first Joker Out gig but this one is getting pretty pretty close. thanks to all the people I met and got to talk to and who made this gig such a wonderful experience ❤️

Joker out Pantomime Roles
(based purely on memories of having seen at least 1 panto every year of my childhood so accuracy to actual panto tropes may be off)
Tumblr media
This pic of Nace reminds me so much of pantomime acting( specifically the ghost gag where they dramatically looking around for and listening for a ghost) that i had to assign the JO boys each of the main pantomime roles because why not. IDK how familiar other people are with panto so I will give a little context + pictures.
Tumblr media
Firstly Nace has such an expressive face and high sass levels required to do really good slapstick and classic panto. He'd definitely have fun lightly bullying the rest of the boys. He would also rock the outfits.
Tumblr media
Secondly Martin is the comedy relief sidekick of the lead character(normally called Buttons) The sidekick and the Dame do most of the jokes and crowd work. I just think Nace and Martin would be funny as a double act.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jan's the villain just because I think he'd enjoy the outfits and being melodramatic. Also sometimes villains and the dame will flirt so a bonus for Jance enjoyers.
Jure is the villains henchman. It just kinda fits as the henchmen are normally very chaotic and little silly. Also the two cats of the band as a villain duo would be cute.
Tumblr media
Bojan is going to be the Prince/male main character also called the principal boy(the role is normally played by a girl). They are always overly confident and dramatic af. I think Bojan would enjoy being as dramatic as possible. For reasons, I specifically need him in one of the insanely short mini dress style principal boy costumes not the boring men's costumes(see middle person above).
Tumblr media
Finally Kris is the princess. I don't think there's much explanation needed Kris just has major princess vibes, he just looks like he could be a damsel in distress especially with how clumsy he's been lately. Sometime the princess does bully the prince a little too, so in character behaviour to bully Bojan a little.
Also I think they should either do a panto of jack and the bean stalk or sleeping beauty. I don't have reasoning beyond pure vibes.

Bojan: "When I realised what a crucial part of self-esteem it is, that's when I turned off Instagram"
Article and video podcast with Bojan Cvjetićanin and Kris Guštin from 24ur.com, published on 3.10.2023
The band Joker Out are one of the most efficient ambassadors of Slovene, as fans all the way from Scandinavia and Spain to the Balkans are learning the language because of their songs. Before Friday's sold-out concert in Stožice, the singer Bojan Cvjetićanin and guitarist Kris Guštin explained to us the new measurements they are taking with special devices at their hot and very loud concerts and honestly spoke about the impacts of fame and their much-needed abstinence from social media.
youtube
A week ago they completed their Nordic tour with five sold-out concerts in Sweden, Norway and Finland, after Friday's concert they are leaving on their Balkan tour. "We were always told that you really cannot find success with Slovene," says Bojan Cvjetićanin, Kris Guštin adds "At each concert fans await us with signs 'Can I please sing the song 'Umazane misli' ('Dirty Thoughts')' and then Bojan goes to the crowds and they always sing it as if they were Slovenes."
Tumblr media

Turbulent changes have been felt by all members of Joker Out after their Eurovision boost and international success. The singer Bojan most intensely felt the changes on social media and at one point opted for a social media fast. "Once I realised what a crucial part of self-esteem it is, I turned off Instagram. On the one hand, social media is very important to us. It's how we promote our music, concerts, but on the other hand I would love to just tell our fans: Get off of there! A paradox - you can't live with it, you can't live without it," say Bojan and Kris.

What happens with the bras that fans throw on stage during their concerts? Why does their practice place contain endless shelves with books, and what are the traps of fame and fortune in the musical industry? Bojan and Kris revealed all to Simon Vadnjal in the newest POPkast.
