Prompt 4 - Treat

“Sirius, what are you doing here?” Remus asked, crossing the room. He paused in front of Sirius, not wanting to kiss him or embrace him, just in case Sirius wasn’t comfortable with that in his family's hotel. Sirius, apparently not bothered, pushed off of the washing machine he was leaning against and fell into Remus’s arms, tilting his head so he could request a kiss. Remus tried to kiss him, but he was smiling too much. Sirius snorted and pulled away. “So why are you here?” Remus asked again, just as his machines began to peep. He dropped Sirius unceremoniously and rushed over to start his swap over.

Sirius moved out of his way and watched him, intrigued by his manic movements. Remus almost forgot he was there as he dragged heated duvet covers out of the dryers, shoring them into a large wheeled bin and moving the sopping contents of the washing machines over to the vacant dryers before he shoved the dirty table clothes into the empty washers. Finally, he ran down the row of machines, turning knobs and pushing buttons, as well as adding detergent to the washers. When he was done, he let out a relieved breath and turned back to Sirius. 

“Well, that was an unexpected treat,” Sirius told him, coming closer now he wasn’t going to get trampled and taking Remus’s hand. “I know you said you had a system, but damn Remus, that was something else. You were magic,” Sirius looked up at him in awe. Remus blushed, his cheeks burning red. Having Sirius complement his madness hit him harder than he’d expected.  

“I mean I only do it, so I can watch videos on my phone or read my book while they run. If I did it as and when, like the others do, I’d never get to sit down,” Sirius moved in front of him and grabbed the front of his jumper, slowly pulling him down. 

“How long do you have until the machines are done?” He asked, a strange twinkle in his eye. Remus gulped. Was Sirius asking what he thought he was asking?

“A while,” He answered. “I-I can put a timer on my phone,” Sirius’s eyes glinted brightly, and he dragged Remus out of the basement and up into the service lift all the way to the penthouse.
