#why am i so tired after sleeping 16 hours this should be illegal

family outings are always extremely tiring for me so this isn't really a surprise but also the seating was so damn bad it genuinely fucked up my back (i have chronic back pain, i'm used to pain, but it was genuinely so bad i couldn't move without weeping in pain and having dizzy spells), and i came home to a slight headache on top of that.

So i did the sensible thing and went to "take a nap" since it was 6pm, but i woke up only this morning at 9am.

My back is doing better (as in now it's "regular pain" instead of "unbearable pain") but i'm somehow completely drained and tired out of my mind, despite sleeping for 16 hours straight.

so i may struggle with more brainy asks for a bit until i get out of that haze, sorry about that o7

and now i have to catch up on GW's meatgrinding that i missed yesterday so o7

[Where My Twin Watches]: Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Episode 16

Work continues to drive me crazy, so of course I make my life more complicated by getting online classes set up for the fall. That, and I kinda don’t want to see our babies learn about Hughes. Blissful ignorance, am I right? *sigh* Onwards with Brotherhood.

Do we have captions this time? We do! Awesome, it was so irritating last time not knowing if I was mangling names or not. We’ve got the second intro featuring the Xing contingent, curious how influential it’ll be having a foreign prince bopping along with the Elrics. (Also, I continue to be juvenile and giggle at one of the lyrics in the new song being “shite”. Hee.) We open up with a bird's-eye view of Central, then with Ed yawning at the train station. Al mentions that being spied on for hours is pretty tiring. Right, Ling’s ninja squad don’t trust the Elrics. But where’s the Prince? The Ninjas proceed to freak the heck out, Fu runs around the traintops calling out for the young lord as Lan Fan worries about him collapsing. Is Ling fainting a common thing, then? Ed just shrugs his shoulders at the absence of the freeloader and heads off with Al and Winry. Huh, music’s getting ominous. Oh, there he is, doing a Brooding Anime Rooftop Stare on the station’s clock tower, looking towards the center of the city. [Ling]: “Something about this country doesn’t feel right.” Well, the current speculation (backed by the freaking Fuhrer being a Goth!) is that they’re sacrificing people to make Philosopher’s Stones, so… don’t know much about Xing so can’t say if they’re any better, but it’d be pretty hard for them to be worse. Episode 16 - “Footsteps of a Comrade-in-Arms” In a run-down area of the city, a car stops and the blond-haired smoking guy (Havoc?) of Roy’s crew is checking in with the grey-haired member (I’ll get their names some day, I swear), dropping off food from the colonel. Oh, guess Grey’s been guarding Barry, who cheerfully recognizes “the smokin’ guy”. Not tied up and playing chess? Are they keeping him prisoner to try and get more info or more protecting their only source? Well, I suppose for a serial killer like Barry being kept inside at night and denied any chances to chop someone up would be uncomfortable. Still, Grey’s bored with the assignment, asks how much longer it’ll be. Havoc just says that Roy apologizes for the dangerous assignment, that Grey’s absence it being treated as sick leave… and if he’s seen in public by anyone he’ll get court-martialed. Yikes, ok then. No breaks for poor Grey. Any good news? [Havoc]: “Falman, I found myself a girlfriend!” ...well that’s nice and all for you, buddy, but I think Falman (thank you!) was looking for good news for him. Poor, poor Falman. Hey, it’s Ling! Taking another impromptu nap? A couple of cops are asking if he’s ok, he whispers about food… ah, trying for another free meal? Unfortunately for Ling, the cops less interested in feeding him and more interested in seeing his entry visa. Cue irritated cops dragging a crying Prince away. [Cop 1]: “Outta the way, everyone!” [Cop 2]: “Illegal alien coming through!” The Ninjas continue to freak over the absent master, while Ed says that they should stop by the military offices. Winry… decides to go straight to the Hughes’ house. Oh boy. [Winry]: “I can’t wait to see Miss Gracia and cute little Elicia!” Uuuuuugh. Make it stooooop. The Brothers are off to meet up with Hughes himself, while they think Hughes might have been stymied by Bradley’s orders to stand down they have info on the Homunculi now (and still don’t know the Fuhrer himself is one, gah!). Off to the court-martial office! Quiet somber music as the brothers run through the park. And right by the phone booth that Hughes was murdered in. Bleh this episode is not going easy. In the office, Sheska’s carrying around some books when another lady officer asks for a key to Room #3. Which freaks Sheska out, and she babbles about cleaning up the mess first? What, have you made that your private reading lair or something? Nope, not your lair it seems, but Colonel Mustang’s private napping chamber. Yikes, hope you had an alarm set, and it only wasn’t Sheska waking you that kept you from being late to a freaking Council Meeting. Wait, Council? I don’t think I’ve heard of that group before, I’m just assuming by the tendency for Anime Councils to be Big Deals that it’s the same in the FMA universe. The highest-ranking officers of the military? Sheska worries that Roy’s not getting enough sleep, he just waves her off and goes to the meeting. Staying up late doing research on the conspiracy, I gue- GAH new voice! Sheska freaks and identifies them as Captain Focker, who asks about the open storeroom and what Roy was doing. Uh oh, a watcher sent by Bradley? Double uh oh, in her concern for Roy’s state Sheska is telling Focker about how he seems to be researching the Fifth Laboratory. And the Hughes case. Bleeeeeh, more Hughes feels as Sheska gets sad about her getting her job through Hughes. Captain Focker walks away deep in thought, glasses obscuring his eyes. Uh oh. But then the looks up in surpr- That’s Captain Focker! Oh my Leto, that’s the real Captain Focker! Real Focker’s too busy looking at some piece of paper to notice a shapechange and red electricity as Envy takes on a new disguise. Shapeshifters: A security nightmare.

But it looks like Envy might have made a mistake, as Real!Focker’s now saying good morning to Sheska, who is rightly confused. A simple “Laugh at this clueless character” moment, or a break for the good guys? Roy’s washing up in a bathroom for this Council Meeting, takes a moment to stare mournfully into the mirror- until with a flush of a toilet his angsting is interrupted by The Mighty Armstrong, glinting manfully in his bandages while towering over the stall door. Hah! Armstrong remarks that Roy looks a bit peakish, who asks why Armstrong is bandaged. Oh right, Armstrong was involved in killing all of Greed’s human-chimera crew down South. He mentions that he ran into the Elrics down there, on their visit to their old teacher. But he couldn’t bring himself to tell them about Hughes. Armstrong makes his way out- [Roy]: “The Fifth Laboratory and the Philosopher’s Stone; the Stone’s key ingredients are live humans.” Armstrong comes to a halt. Roy continues about how Hughes died following up on the Elric brothers’ investigation, and how if/when they find out they’ll blame themselves. He says Armstrong not telling them was kind, and Armstrong compliments him on figuring out so much. But warns him that he never knows who might be listening. Riza’s waiting out in the hallway when Ed walks up and says hi, although he’s not as happy when Roy joins them. Oh yeah, Elric didn’t know about Roy’s promotion. Now if he’s hanging out in Central it’ll be the same place as good old Colonel Mustang. The sarcasm in Ed’s “Great” is astounding. As for the Elrics, they’re just doing some information gathering. And might pay Hughes a visit later in the day. Where is he, anyway? Roy… says that Hughes retired. Went out to the country with his family to run the family business. Really, dude? I get that it’s a sore subject, but the “he went out to the farm” excuse only works for so long. They deserve to know what happened. Well, with the false story the boys think that they should tell Winry, they spin around only to run into Lieutenant Ross. She asks about the rush, Ed mentions that they heard about Hughes… and Ross isn’t in on the “tell them the farm story” excuse. Oh boy. Uuuugh, the two conversations sliding right past each other here is painful! And here’s the kicker: [Al]: “He retired to the country and they promoted him?” Ross realises she did a no-no, covers her mouth to keep from saying anything else. And Ed realizes the truth. Mid-episode cards: Captain Focker with an Envy silhouette behind him, and a downcast Gracia Hughes on the second. Notable for both Narrator “Full-Metal Alchemists” being the sad, somber one. Out in the city, Winry’s shopping for apples, presumably to give to the Hughes’ family. And Ed races out of the building after hearing the new. [Lt. Ross]: “Brigadier General Hughes is dead… He was murdered shortly after you were discharged from the hospital, Edward. I’m afraid we still haven’t found the person responsible.” As he runs and cries, Ed blames himself for pulling Hughes into the investigation. Flashes of Happy Hughes and his family, a memory of Hughes seeing them off at the train station and inviting them to drop by again, hosting dinner, first meeting them and inviting them to his home�� Al catches up with the suitcase and then stands there silently as Ed slumps against the wall. And now we’re with Winry, who’s arriving at the apartment. The door swings open- [Elicia]: “Daddy?!” Oh no, that’s fine. I didn’t need that heart anyway, go ahead and use it as a footrest show. The Elrics have arrived at the apartment building, when Al asks what they should do Ed tells him to go back, that he’s “the only one who has to take the blame for what happened.” Oh my Leto kid you have enough self-imposed guilt from Mama Elric and Nina, stop taking the weight of the world on your shoulders! Al argues that it’s on both of them, and double all my protests that Ed does not deserve this for his little brother as well. Ed tries to dissuade Al again- [Al]: “We made up our minds; We said we were getting our bodies back, no matter what. But if people are going to die because of that… then I don’t want mine back.”

Freaking A, Al. I cannot overstate how much damn respect I feel for you right now. You are a poor boy, trapped in a cold metal body from a horrible accident. Getting your body back has been your driving purpose, along with healing your brother. But when you discovered that the cost of making a Philosopher’s Stone was human sacrifice, you discarded the method. And when you discover that a friend has died in the process of helping your investigation, you are fully prepared to renounce your goal in order to protect others. I salute your selflessness. Gracia opens the door, and gives the Elrics the same sad smile that she gave Winry, telling the brothers that Winry’s already arrived. The mechanic’s sitting quietly in a chair with Elicia curled in her lap, she looks up with Ed quietly enters. Ed then asks to talk to Gracia and Winry about Maes. The quiet sad theme starts playing as Gracia recaps the Elrics’ message; that Hughes looked into the Philosopher’s Stone, and was killed as a warning against the brothers. Gracia looks down at sleeping Elicia, as Ed bows his head in grief and gasps out “sorry” again and again. [Gracia]: “That would be just like him, dying while trying to help someone else.” The Trio look up in surprise. [Gracia]: “My husband. He always was a busybody and a meddler, and it got him into trouble. A lot. But you know… I don’t think he ever had regrets. Not any… not even in his dying moments, Edward.” So many people to respect in this episode, seriously. Al being prepared to give up on getting his body back, and Gracia insisting that they can’t give up, or else Hughes died in vain. With a little smile, even. Forget about the dead end of the Stone, there still might be another way. [Gracia]: “You boys have to keep moving forward… any way you can.” The door closes as the Trio exit the apartment, Ed turns to look at the others- [Elicia]: “Mommy?... Mommy, please don’t cry.” ...damn you, show. Later in the day now, the sun is setting as the Trio walk through the streets to a sweeping cello melody. The Elrics see Winry to a hotel room, and then go to their own. Right, because they… used to stay at the Hughes’ residence. Winry’s quietly resting on her bed, Al’s sitting in the living room, and Ed’s downstairs in the restaurant too upset to eat. Now he’s knocking on Winry’s door, asking if she’s eaten yet, and she should hurry because the dining room is closing soon. The parallels are strong here: when they were children the Rockbell’s fed the Elrics, and now Ed’s trying to make sure Winry keeps up her strength now. When Winry doesn’t make a move Ed excuses himself to his room, but Winry grabs his automail hand. Aw, aw no. She still has the basket of apples she was planning to take to the Hughes’ family. Seems she was planning to make apple pie. And had hoped that Mr. Hughes would get to try some too. Winry cries as the screen fades to black. WOW OK talk about rough transitions, we’ve got Chimeras in cages. And eff you it’s the Goths, Lust leaning on Gluttony as she talks with still-disguised Envy. Now they know that Roy’s been looking into the matter, and may have found some things out. Lust gripes that they orchestrated Roy’s move to Central to keep a closer eye on him, and it’d be a waste to lose an important sacrifice candidate. Wait… [Envy]: “Haven’t been able to learn anything from your new boyfriend?” Aw hell no, I’d thought that Havoc gushing about having a girlfriend was just a little joke at the beginning of the episode, like a running gag about his relationships or something. You’re telling me Lust is playing Havoc? Run dude, run! Lust goes off to gather more info, calls for Gluttony like a loyal little attack dog. Envy chides Gluttony for leaving some bones scattered around… but then gets an idea. Uh oh, we’ve got string music as Envy suggests making another “play”, giving Roy a bone to chew. What are you up to? We’re at what appears to be a cafeteria now, when someone comes up and taps Lieutenant Ross on the shoulder, introducing himself as Henry Douglas from the Provost Marshal’s office. Flanked by goons, he says that Ross has to come along with them, and demands her gun? Wait, is Ross being arrested? Brosh, where the heck are you, come defend your partner! Whoa whoa what?! They’re accusing Ross for Hughes’ murder?! What the heck, how can you make that claim? What evidence do you have for that absurd claim? Besides… well, besides the shapeshifter accosting Hughes in the phone booth while looking like you… uh oh. Riza is updating Roy on the situation, saying that Ross (man, there are a lot of R-characters involved in this case, huh?) is pleading not-guilty on all charges. The Flame Alchemist just tells Riza to gather all the info on the suspect that she can, secretly. Dramatic string music continues as we see Havoc buying some flowers and then running along to his “hot date”, stubbing out his cigarette as yup, “Solaris” is Lust. Who demurely asks Havoc to sit down and tell her about his day. AAAAAAARGH! Ok then! Was putting off this episode because I knew there would be Feels about Hughes, and damn if it didn’t deliver. But like Gracia said, they can’t let Hughes’ death be in vain, and they can hardly just give up and let the killer go free. Speaking of, framing Ross? As if I didn’t have enough reasons to hate you jerks, Goths! Ugh, this is gonna get complicated, isn’t it?

It’s Strange - Chapter 15

December 29th, 1986

Bill, Stan, Eddie, and Richie were over at Bill’s house while his parents would not be home until late, and Georgie was gone to a sleepover at another one of his friend’s house.

He had managed to convince his parents to let them over, and they had allowed him, since three people was the limit.

Bill always found his parents to be strange, especially when he was Georgie’s age. Their moods would be off, then they would go back to being themselves. His parents were especially weird around children. Was it the looks on their faces? Their overtly friendliness when they saw them? Sometimes Bill was convinced they were that weird shape-shifting clown that fucked with the losers over two years ago. Why did his parents all of a sudden turn nice again when him and the losers defeated It?

Shit! Why did he think about the clown out of the blue? That’s just weird.

Tonight it was the four of them, the first official members of the losers club. Just like old times again.

“T-There’s s-still some leftover e-e-eggnog in the fridge if a-anyone wants some.” said Bill, “A-And t-t-there’s c-chocolate b-b-b-but don’t eat them all.”

“You know, even though me or my family don’t celebrate Christmas, that secret Santa was so much fun a few weeks ago.” said Stan

“You’re lucky we weren’t playing spin the bottle.” Richie said, “It would’ve been a gay orgy.”

“Ew Richie!” Stan said with disgust

“What the hell?!” said Eddie, “You’re disgusting.”

“Y-Yeah R-R-Richie, that’s g-gross.” said Bill, “Y-Your m-m-mind is w-weird.”

“I’m just saying Bill, we should all do it on New Years Eve!” Richie responded, who then turned his gaze to Eddie “I know who I’d be kissing.”

Eddie’s eyes rolled to the back of his head, tired but used to hearing strange comments from Richie

“No R-Richie, not happening.” Bill said

“That’s fine, I’d rather eat Eddie’s mom out, like I do every night.”

“Fuck you!” Eddie exclaimed, clearly revolted by his filthy mind

“You wanna.” Richie winked

As the night passed, they had downed and entire bottle of wine and went on about how much they loved each other, like drunk 15 year olds would do. Underage drinking was illegal, but they didn’t care, as long as they weren’t caught. The four of them had passed out on each other’s laps sometime after 1:30 am.

At around 4:15 am, Bill had woken up on the couch with Stan asleep on his lap, along with Eddie and Richie spooning on the floor, both fast asleep.

What woke him up was the sound of demonic screeching, or some type of creature.

Bill looked at the others, but neither showed any signs of being awake.

He thought it was just his half sober mind playing tricks, and decided to close his eyes again. But he couldn’t, for whatever reason. Until he finally got some shut eye for a few seconds, and this time he was sure the demonic screeching was not a dream

“W-Wake up!!” Bill shouted

Stan had fallen off the couch him and Bill were sleeping on, and the thudding woke up Richie and Eddie.

“Ow!” Stan groaned, “What happened?”

Bill gulped, thinking of what to say, then noticed Richie and Eddie waking up groggily, wondering what the hell was going on.

“It’s not time to get up yet.” Eddie said groggily

“The fuck is the ruckus?” said Richie, also half asleep

“D-D-Did any of you hear that?” Bill managed to spit out

“Hear what?” Stan asked, eyes half closed

“That n-n-noise. I h-h-heard a n-noise.” 

“No. Go the fuck back to sleep guys.” said Richie, while him and Eddie cuddled back onto the floor

Knowing Stan was more sober than Richie and Eddie, Stan looked at Bill for a few seconds.

“Are you okay?” said Stan

“Y-You didn’t hear t-that?” 

“No. It was probably just you imagination. Go back to sleep.”

“Y-You can c-c-come back up on the c-c-couch if you w-want.”

“Nah, I’m good here.” Stan replied, while he fell asleep on the floor

January 13th, 1987

Henry Bowers and his gang. From November. They knew who they had seen. They know what went on that very day. But they knew for sure the police of Derry-Hawkins did not take them seriously. 

Johnathan, Steve, Nancy, and Emma, were called to Hawkins police station months after their encounter with Bowers and them. They were pissed off about the long wait, and how they did not take them seriously. The police. How the police would just pass the bloody puck on to the next town. But they hoped Chief Hopper would take their side of the story after hearing about their incident with Bowers. The four of them knew at least three of them were still out there.

They had sat there in silence in Hopper’s office, waiting for updates. Hopper was still chatting with other police officers in the lobby, but they had faith in Hopper. He was very serious with his job, especially with his own experience in the upside down. 

After about 20 minutes of waiting in the office, what felt like two hours, Hopper had finally walked back in, with files in his hands.

“Good afternoon, guys.” Hopper greeted

“Afternoon.” they responded

After seconds of him flipping through the files, and awkward silence ringing in the room, Hopper had finally began to ask questions.

“So, the incident four of you encountered on November 1st, 1987,” Hopper continued, “Do you think these people are a potential threat to Derry-Hawkins?”

“Yes”

“Maybe”

Hopper continued looking through his files, then pulled out two missing and two murdered articles which occurred in Derry over two years ago. Summer of ‘84. Immediately, the four of their eyes’ widened in shock, and they immediately recognized them. 

Henry Bowers, aged 16 at the time of disappearance. Son of Oscar Bowers. Body never found, presumably abducted and murdered after his father was found dead in his own home. 

Reginald Huggins, aged 16 at the time of disappearance. Found murdered in car by Neibolt House with 15 year old Victor Criss.

Victor Criss, aged 15 at the time of disappearance. Found murdered in car by Neibolt House with 15 year old Reginald Huggins. 

Patrick Hockstetter, aged 15 at the time of disappearance. Body never recovered, but officials assume the worst. 

“Yes.” said Steve, “Those are the guys we saw on the trail behind Hawkins High!”

“We saw them before, too,” said Johnathan, “But they were dressed as girls. Like, you could tell it was a disguise.”

Hopper looked at them, and they knew, he was at least half interested on what they had to say.

He remembered something, but didn’t know what. But maybe if he asked more questions Hopper could finally lay a finger on it.

“What did they look like? What sort of clothes were they supposedly wearing before?” Hopper asked

“Sometimes the same clothes,” Nancy stepped in, “Dark/blonde wigs, fancy shirts, yoga pants, I forget what else. They would often ask us where Billy Hargrove was.”

That’s when Hopper remembered; sometime in late August him and his other chiefs responded to a robbery in Hawkins, and had questioned Bill and Mike’s group, who had happened to hang out together in the nearby field. Neither had seen anything, other than a few wigs in the wooded area. Will said he had seen something, but many dismissed it as one of his seizures. 

“Yes, exactly!” said Johnathan, “I think Billy may know something.”

“Slow down,” Jim chuckled, “Yes, we’ll have to question him. I’m still thinking of who else to question, they all probably saw something different at different times.”

Emma began to look down on the ground, and gulped

“I...I think I might have to confess something.” 

“What is it, Emma?”

“When the gang attacked us, the taller one began to use his flamethrower,” Emma continued, “I had no choice but to push the flames their way. The others ran off, but I think I killed Bowers, but I’m not sure.”

“His...body was gone when we went back with the officers of Derry.” Steve looked down

Hopped sighed

“Emma, I know you and Eleven happen to have certain abilities, but you need to know not to mess around with them too much,” Jim said, “As I’ve told Eleven herself on many occasions. The two of you might end up using them in front of the wrong people, and you could get in trouble.”

“I know, sorry.” said Ems

Steve looked down at the 007 written across her forearm, then grabbed her arm in comfort.

She at first wondered what he was doing, but took it anyways, besides, Steve was just comforting a friend.

“When did the officers of Derry come to you about this?” Nancy asked

“Jesus, this is what I don’t understand.” said Jim, “They had only gotten to me about a week ago.

“Are you kidding me??” Johnathan groaned, “This literally happened three months ago, in 1986! There are dangerous kids still out there, and will possibly hurt someone else. That is a long fucking time for the cops to put off a crime, and they think it’s ‘too late to go back’! Fucking hell.”

Nancy comforted Johnathan, patting him on the back, knowing the exact fear and anger he was feeling.

“Johnathan, it’s okay, I believe you guys.” said Hopper, “Thanks for telling me all of this, and I will look into this, starting tonight.”

January 16th, 1987

Joyce had dropped by Hopper’s office, like she did every week, normally bringing him coffee and donuts on the way, while the two of them would chat for a while.

Jim’s day always improved when he saw Joyce, but got better when he saw his adoptive daughter, Jane. Hopper was glad to have another girl in his life after his biological daughter Sara passed away, and thought of Joyce as being a possible potential partner at one point. Or two.

“I’m so sorry about Johnathan the other day,” said Joyce, “He was just very upset.”

“It’s fine, Joyce,” said Jim, “I know how he was feeling. I’m honestly pissed off that the Derry police didn’t even come to me about this until last week!”

“I know.” Joyce whispered, “Who do they think they are?? Trust me Jim, I want Bowers gone more than any of the kids do. They hurt so many people, and will likely do it again!”

“I want justice brought to them too,” Jim sighed, “But I think they’re too smart. We need to take things discretely, and one of the first things us officers need to do is to question Billy Hargrove. Your son Johnathan and his friends said Bowers always asked for him.”

“I knew Hargrove was trouble, I am not surprised he may be apart of this too.” Joyce gritted her teeth, “He tried to hurt the kids that night, broke into our house -”

“Joyce. I know.” said Hopper, “We’ll get through this, I promise.”

Joyce looked at Hopper, then looked down.

Hopper gazed into Joyce’s eyes, each of them giving each other a discrete yet awkward smile.

“What is it?” Joyce chuckled

“I know it’s been a while, and we both have been busy,” said Hopper, “If you wanted to maybe we can get a coffee sometime when I’m off duty?”

“Yes, sure! That would be wondeful.” Joyce smiled 

“How about Sunday afternoon?”

They both agreed, and were both looking forward to it.

January 22nd, 1987

It was Thursday afternoon, and both Ben and Beverly had track practice that day, which occurred every Thursday since mid November. 

Ella had stayed behind after school to watch their track meeting in the bleachers, and she was plan on going to Bev’s house afterwards, they had Friday off the next day. 

While watching the track meeting, she also decided to look over her biology notes at the same time, with her mom’s voice echoing in her head when she tried to read about the human body. 

Eddie bear, don’t forget to take your pills, it will prevent you from getting a deadly cancer

Oh Ellie, don’t sit on the toilet on your menstrual cycle, blood attract germs, especially herpes.

She then closed her books, and watched the other kids in the gym run around. Ella couldn’t bare listening to the voice of her and Eddie’s mom in her head while she was trying to study biology, it was just too annoying. 

She watched as Beverly and Ben ran together. Something about the two of them running together looked right. They wouldn’t make that bad of a couple, she thought while watching them. 

At 4:15, the track meeting was over, and Ben and Bev made their way over to Ella to see her and to get their bookbags she was watching for them.

Ben had gotten into the car that his mother had picked him up in.

She rolled down her window and asked, “Do you girls need a lift too?”

They politely declined, as they were going to pick up sushi at the nearby Asian cuisine for dinner, and Bev and her aunt’s apartment was a 10 minute walk away. The temperature for Derry was frigid this time of year, but luckily they didn’t have that far to walk. 

Beverly and Ella had walked together on the sidewalk, with a few seconds of silence between each other. But not the awkward type.

“How’s Ben?” El had asked, “First time I came to your guys’ practices.”

“He’s doing good,” said Beverly, “And yes, thanks for waiting for me.”

Beverly’s voice sounded more peppy than normal, and she quickly lit up her cigarette in her hand. Something was defintley up.

“I know this sounds weird,” said Ella, “But just from watching your guys’ practice, I think you and Ben would make a good couple.”

“What?! Oh my god El, no we wouldn’t.” Bev chuckled

“Yes, you would.”

Beverly avoided looking El’s way, in order to refrain herself from laughing even more.

“Really Bev, what was the real reason you joined track?”

“I like to run.” Bev said, though Ella knew that wasn’t the actual reason

“Well, Ben is actually not that bad.” Bev gave in, “He’s nice, and one of the easiest people of the losers to talk to.”

“Oh, so you like him?” El asked

“I guess..”

“Ooohh”

“Shut up,” Bev laughed, “Don’t tell anyone what I said, especially not Ben himself.”

“I won’t.” Ella winked

The two of them couldn’t help themselves from grinning; Beverly thinking about Ben, and Ella successfully uncovered Beverly’s dirty secret. 

A few more seconds of silence ran in the air, aside from the sound of their footsteps on the pavement, then Beverly thought of something.

“Since you said me and Ben would make a good couple,” said Beverly, “Guess it’s my turn to say something next.”

“Oh god.” Ella rolled her eyes

“You and Richie would make a good couple too.” Bev smirked

El cupped her hands of her mouth, before blurting out

“Ew, that’s disgusting! Richie is annoying as hell!” she gagged

Beverly laughed, and Ella brushed off the lame joke

“Very funny,” Ella responded, “There’s absolutely no way I could see myself with my own brother’s closest friend. Just no.”

“What is so bad about Richard anyways?” Bev asked

“Nothing, he’s just annoying, that’s all.” said Ella, “He’s up at the house multiple times a week with Eddie, so I’ve gotten used to his behaviour. Though I need to close my bedroom door every time he’s up. Because if I don’t, he’ll come up with another one of his evil tricks.”

Those popping out of nowhere scare pranks when Eddie was in his room not listening, sugar being poured all over the bedspread, feathers in her bookbag, and one time grabbed her ankles from under the bed when he stayed the night with Eddie. And of course, Ella would always have to check the closets too, just in case you-know-who was in there.

Beverly knew about those things after El had told her the multiple things Tozier had been up to. I hate him! Such a fucking douchebag! El would say

“You know what all those things mean.” said Beverly, “Those things he does to you when Eddie’s in his room, it mean he likes you. Why else would Richie do those things?”

Ella groaned

“No way, can’t see that happening. It’s too weird.” Ella chuckled

She couldn’t believe Beverly Marsh would stoop that low. What the hell, Marsh? Eddie would flip his shit if he heard you right now.

THE DAILY GRIND… ARE WE THERE YET?

Saturday, 16 Dec. 2017.  Kinda grey day, all day and cool.  A regular kind of day, for me... painting, exercise, smoking pot, drinking coffee and eggnog, watching TV.  Got a lot of painting done.

I went to bed by 10pm and wuz up at 8am.  I find old age, and my pain meds make me need more sleep... about 8-9 hours a day, now, and I'm quite tired by the end of the day.  I don't like that one bit.  Oh well, I always expected old age to totally suck and it does.

I was always a nighthawk kind of person, one who stayed up late and, often, slept late but rarely longer than 8 hours.  I'm trying to learn to 'go with the flow' and accept the limitations old age is placing upon me.  I don't like being old but have no choice about the matter.

This morning I was thinking about Labour Unions.  They are one of those damned if you do and damned if you don't kind of things.  I don't like labour unions, at all.  The, very, very, very, very rapidly become greedy, self-interested groups who don't give a flying fuck about anyone outside the union.  You can starve on the street, have a mouth full of rotten teeth, have scurvy and lesions all over your body, and the union members don't give a crap because they've got theirs and you can go fuck yourself.

Labour Unions constantly raise the cost of living because the poor dears can't exist on two to five times the wages of the non-union folks.  Now, I don't blame the unions, entirely.  We would never advance safety or working conditions without them... government can't be counted on to be of any help, at all.  Government doesn't make changes until politicians fear to lose their jobs.  That's a terrible irony because it should be the government that is setting working standards and ENFORCING them, including minimum wages for certain kinds of jobs.  I can't imagine why a person with no education should be making four to five times the minimum wage for no other reason than they belong to a strong union working in a mass volume high priced product.

I may sound like a socialist and, to some extent, I am socialist minded.  I believe in a legal minimum wage that a person can live upon, and decent working conditions for workers, reasonable hours, vacations, etc.  A business that is successful, or makes the owner(s) wealthy by exploiting the workers should, quite simply, not be allowed to exist, no matter how needed or useful it might be.

All workers should be protected and it should be government that establishes various trade and workgroups.  For instance, you would not have a minimum wage sales job without belonging to a government run union.  Would that raise the cost of things?  Quite likely, but it would become part of the balancing formula... universal dental and health care for all.  I don't believe doctors should be subject to government formulae for their incomes but, rather, incentives for good work would replace having to crank a certain number of patients through the office in order to achieve a desired income level.

Dentists and Doctors should all be public servants, well paid for good work and who receive their educations at government expense... no debt to carry forward after school.  Bad doctors and bad dentists would lose the right to practice... as in forever.

Overpopulation and automation are going to put many, many, many people out of work in the very near future.  Population control is becoming ever more necessary.  In my world, people would require a license and school training in order to become parents.  Parenting would become a privilege, not a right.  We desperately need to reduce the population of the planet by several billion people... down to about 3 billion people, as quickly as possible.

I predict mass starvation and nuclear wars will take care of that problem in the very near future.  I have said and will keep saying... I fully expect 3-4 billion people to die off in the next 50 years.  I said it, I mean it.  The horrors that are about to come will drastically change our planet.

The first step, after the nuclear wars, will be to make all religions on the planet illegal.  Nothing causes more problems than religions... nothing, absolutely nothing.  There is nothing more evil nor problem causing than religions.

IF YOU HAVEN’T BEEN HERE, BEFORE, HERE IS MORE STUFF TO READ… I repeat myself, a lot, because I know humans are really bad at paying attention, and understanding much of anything they read.  Quite, bluntly, I consider most humans to be walking, talking idiots.

I’m a bit OCD and ADHD and go on, and on, like a dripping tap.  Think Sheldon Cooper, if that rings some kind of bell.  I gather it’s some kind of need I have to be, constantly, in complete control of everything.  I quite simply assume everyone around me is a complete idiot.  The humans aren’t doing a very good job of convincing me otherwise.  You must prove yourself to me.  Seriously, I mean it.  I expect to be disappointed.   Show me what you’ve got and back it up with proof.

Absolute rest is not possible… ever.  The universe can not end.  Time is change and is an illusion.  It is always now, everywhere, all at once, all of the time. Proof of that is that ANY object MUST be HERE and THERE at the SAME time, no matter how large… even a Galaxy.  It is always NOW on both sides… here and there, in space,  of the Galaxy… all galaxies, everywhere.  Waves can be either physical or electronic.  The duality of the universe keeps it ongoing.  DNA is the battery of life.  When the chains can no longer co-operate, life ceases in the body.  Life, itself, is a duality.  Time measurement is a relativity convenience.)  Time travel is impossible because time is not a place and nothing stays where it was.  One year from now the Solar System will have moved about seven BILLION kilometres through space and will NEVER return to where it was… ever.

Earth travels through space like a long wave… it has NEVER, ever made an actual circle, nor ellipse, in space.  The circle/ellipse is an illusion of relativity.  Nothing can ever travel in an actual circle in space… NOTHING.  Nothing can ever go backward.  Backwards motion is an illusion of relativity.  Time is a repercussion of change and has no fixed rate… things explode or move like a glacier.  At best we can only compare rates of change.  Our rate of change is called the second/minute/hour/day/month/year system.

NOTHING CAN EVER MOVE IN A TRUE CIRCLE.  THE EARTH HAS NEVER MADE A LOOP IN SPACE… EVER.  YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW.

Earth moves about 7 billion kilometers through space, each year… in a long wave.  Earth NEVER returns to where it was before.  Earth is NOT an island in space… one of the reasons why time travel is impossible.  If you take a trip through space, outside the Solar System, Earth will NOT be there when you return… it will be far, far away.  You will have to return to where it will BE when you arrive… remember, it’s moving very, very, very fast through space in a long wave… never a circle, or ellipse.

I’m here to teach you things.  While I appreciate other people’s opinions, I really don’t much give a crap what anyone thinks.  Until you prove your worth, I will be nice but you have to earn my respect. The moment you say a word, I’ll be figuring you out really, really fast.  You should assume that I don’t trust anyone.  I’ve not met a single trustworthy person in my entire life.  I’ve met lots of nice people who aren’t too bright… well-intentioned folk who know little about anything, people who are nice, most of the time until you say something that offends them.  Honourable people agree to disagree.

Look up the phrase “CRITICAL THINKING” then learn to practice it.  Most people leap before they look and judge before they listen to the facts.  Most don’t have enough knowledge, nor experience, to be experts in much of anything.  You don’t know what you don’t know.  I like to remind you of that, often.

The only other REALLY IMPORTANT thing to know about me is that I, totally, despise all religions, the teaching of religion, and religious institutions… I despise them as the evilest things on the planet.  If you follow a religion, you CAN NOT BE MY FRIEND.   THAT’S THAT.  You are an ignorant idiot who is an ever-present danger to yourself and everyone and everything around you.  Nothing, absolutely NOTHING, is eviler than religion.  I don’t stand for, nor sing, our National Anthem because it praises a fictitious and superstitious being called ‘God’.  Only a brain dead moron bonehead ignorant idiot would believe such a thing.
