This is a question that has been bothering me for ages and that has sowed discord, much like that Greek apple, amongst all my friends and acquaintances whenever I asked it. It's time to settle this, finally.

I think I can give some perspective on the valter thing. I recently came across his twitch (randomly) and started watching him. I didn't know much about his family other than Bill in a few things. With valter, I can't make his live twitch so I watched a few vods. I'm honestly surprised how much of himself he shows. He lets loose, burps, curses, eats on camera, picks on and playfully argues with his friends while they play games. Some your mom and that's what she said jokes. His jokes can be quite crude. valter gets on live right after a shower and talks to chat and then plays a game. And I mean he really talks and engages. he ate dinner a few times on live. Which was a bean and rice dish. I think he was on some restrictive diet for another role. He complained about it. Part of me thinks it's hilarious, the other half of me is just fascinated. It's no regard for professionalism and I don't know why I can't look away. I'm like indifferent about it. It could go right for him or whatever. it sure is something. Also sort of worried about the I ate too much comments because when his chat tried to compliment him and assure him he's not “getting fat”, he got a bit snippy. He's handsome on live though. I honestly don't think he's fat. He generally looks good, even aside from being in entertainment. And I'm on the outside looking in perspective. Sometimes he'll get close to the camera or flex his muscles and the chat gets real active. You would of thought they never seen that before. A lot of ladies with husbands who watch him. That's cool but the sort of objectify comments must him feel weird. He even says don't be weird. He can get real sassy to. I guess he was setting a boundary. I don't know what I'm getting at, very relaying some observation. He's a personality though. I think he may find more leverage with streaming and gaming than acting. It's potential. Thoughts?

I’ve never seen any of his streams but thank you for your observation it’s very insightful. Out of all the siblings I think he’s the one who shares the most and is perhaps more comfortable with social media. I’m not trying to discredit him but I think he’s more known for being a Skarsgård than a movie star so if he acts a certain way he’s lucky enough not to face backlash as opposed to perhaps Alexander or Bill. His sense of humor reflects his age since a lot of guys in their late 20s behave the same way. It’s good that he sets boundaries with his audience. I’ve never seen him act either but my personal opinion is he’ll either never crack Hollywood or it’ll be a long time before he does. So many new stars rising so I think he’ll get lost in the mix. He seems to have steady work in Sweden so I guess he’s doing ok at home. Plus with his streaming he has a little side hustle and extra income. Once again, thanks for sharing.

I think Alex would make a great Lannister Lord. Valter would be great for Daeron, as he's fair featured and a similar age to Tom and Ewan. Gustaf has Wildling potential, though that is more a GoT thing!

Little rant about the Skarsgårds and the Met gala.

The gala was yesterday and Alex was invited. Excited I looked for his outfit and like previous years he wore a suit.

It look very nice , very sharp, but it was just a plain suit again.

It's a hard contrast when you see some of the other looks ( this year men really served better than years prior)

For a guy who's use to do things like this for fun in red carpets , I was hoping for something more elaborated.

And lets not forget about our Billy he was invited once to the met gala in 2017 and , because the apple don't fall far from the tree, he also wore a suit. A grey one.

One would think that by being the It boy of the year ( *chuckle* ) he would have chosen something more colorful or a little bit extravagant but no. He -as Alex- looked handsome but meh.

Will he ever get an invitation again?

If he gets one will he go? Who knows at this point.

Anyway now my beting goes all to Valter. Dude, idk if you will read this, I just want to say that if you end up having your big break and get invited to the Met one day , my guy, make us proud and take my breath away with good fitted look that also follows the theme. Put the Skarsgård name on the top 25 best dressed of Vanity Fair. I believe in you.

This may be unpopular but I don't find Valter attractive, there is something that doesn't work for me. Tbh I have only seen photos or gif of him streaming. But for me it's just Bill, then Alex. I would like to be in a sanwich between them, I have two holes for a reason lol.

bill and alida remind me of armie hammer and elizabeth chambers. they were married for several years and had two kids together. when their marriage fell apart elizabeth revealed armie told her he was unhappy in their marriage. you wouldn't be able to tell with they way they both portrayed themselves on social media and public appearances. i think bill like armie feels like he has to stay because they've been together for so long. it's hard getting out of a long term relationship and starting over again. the dating scene is brutal nowadays

I’m not familiar with that couple but I do remember his whole cannibalism/mistress shit show. We truly don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. I think that’s why fans thought they were broken up or about to. Alida went quiet and bill was partying and going to ufc fights. Don’t forget that Stellan event where most of the family was there: Alex/Tuva, Eija/Zeke, Sam, Valter, Megan, and Bill. That was an event I’m sure Alida would have loved to be at. Why she wasn’t there who knows. But then BOOM pregnant! I’m excited for Bill for the remainder of the year and now with Alida pregnant maybe she’ll break her ig silence and add to the fuckery! The morberg sisters were already friendly with skarsgård boys before they started dating. I guess it’s easier to date someone when your family is already familiar with them. If they do break up, I think Bill will date someone within his circle, close/same age, and he already dated a single mother so perhaps somebody already with a kid(s).

The Skarsgård children about growing up with their mother's alcohol abuse

My Skarsgård is the mother of six children after the 32-year marriage to Stellan Skarsgård. During the children's upbringing, she suffered from alcohol abuse, something that her youngest son Valter Skarsgård now shares his views on.

Stellan Skarsgård and My Skarsgård had six children during their marriage, and the majority of them are not hidden gems. Several of the siblings have chosen to follow in their father's footsteps. We often see Alexander, Gustaf, Bill and Valter in feature films, on the big screen, in Swedish series or in Hollywood itself.

Eija and Sam are the two in the crowd who do not engage in acting today.

Valter Skarsgård on how his mother's abuse affected him

Valter Skarsgård, who is now 26, is now a guest on the podcast Nemo meets a friend , and tells about growing up, when a large part revolved around mother My's alcohol abuse. In the podcast, he is asked how her addiction has affected him.

- Incredibly much, my whole personality of course, he says and explains that her addiction lasted during basically his entire upbringing.

My Skarsgård herself has previously told about her alcoholism, which gained momentum after she suffered from cervical cancer in the late 90s, and alleviated her anxiety and fear with vodka.

Since 2006, My has been sober, and since then she has held sobriety courses as an alcohol and drug therapist - a course that Valter took even before he had even started consuming alcohol.

My relationship with alcohol and all that stuff ... I'm really not some kind of absolutist. I can drink sometimes, but I'm vigilant. If I have been on the Way out West type and you have been drunk for two or three days in a row, then I become like 'god, now I can not drink for two months because I am starting to feel that now it's balling out'. I am incredibly attentive and very aware, which is very good.

The support from the siblings

His older brother Gustaf, 41, has also had problems with alcohol. He started drinking at the age of 12, and suffered from substance abuse problems until he was 30. Seeing both his mother and his brother go through what they went through meant that alcohol was not glorified for Valter, quite the opposite.

- I got to see the warning flags quite early. I guess I have a pretty realistic view of alcohol, he says.

Some who really existed as support while growing up are his siblings.

- Dad worked all the time, mother was in the condition she was then. It becomes clear that you grow up without any security and as a child you need it, and then I had my siblings, but my sister is only three years older than me, he explains and adds:

But you have learned from it too. I'm so grateful for the family I have now and how everything is today so I do not know if I would necessarily have wanted to change anything, but it is clear that it has left its mark.

Yes, we can talk about that because i like Valter. I think he and Alexander are the most aprochables and humble of the four acting brothers. i hope you got time because i got alot to say xd

i follow the old man on twitter and he is so funny and entertaining ... he understand the internet and thats what i love about him , he can take the jokes and the memes about him or his brothers very well BUT Like everything in life, excesses bother him.

I imagine that growing up for him must have been quite difficult with people telling him things about how much they admired his family, or whith people who only know him for being the youngest of the clan and have no idea how hard he works for make a name for himself. (because i see that he's been improving his acting skills lately but for alot of people he is just the youngest brother of ... and that its not fair )

For example, a few days ago in twitter a guy pointed that the success of his family is a result of nepotism in Hollywood, Valter wanted to explain him that he was wrong ( in his own way of course) and the stranger answer him showing him a photo of his 3 brothers at the premiere of It as if to imply that he is the forgotten one or less famous ?¿ (I don't know what he tried) also that stranger started to make assumptions and talking about valter privileges, his brothers and I could see that Valter got really frustrated in that exchange and took it all very personal.

He must be tired of giving explanations, of being the non official ambassador of the Skarsgårds just for being the most active in social media, tired of being compared to his brothers or reading requests from fans asking him to send messages to his brothers (ppl should stop that. He is not an owl, brenda), he probably suffers impostor sindrome sometimes or identity crisis for all that ... and I think that for his own sanity he tries to live with what the fans expect of him and what he can give them, within his own terms.

Of course he is gonna joke or talk about Bill or any of his brothers because any person with brothers or sisters do that ... its normal. I dont think he does it for attention, or that he is contradicting himself for that ...

his mind / thoughts about it might be summed up like this:

I can talk and joke about my brothers or family as many times as i want and not when you ask.

And I think he's entitled to do that.

So let the little old man in peace, it is not our role to ask him for explanations of why he talks about his brothers or not ... he is Valter, he is more than his last name. Let follow him for who he is and for his work, his family is just a plus in the equation.

That applies for all of the brothers , they are individuals let's treat them like that.
