danny phantom season 2, ep 12-16 thoughts! these episodes, in comparison to the first 10 or so, felt way more laid back and low-stakes, which I appreciate sometimes. I didn't appreciate how lazy jack's halfa design was in masters of time, it made me so annoyed I redesigned it. 👎🏻 u_u

-axion labs is now a part of vladco. FUCK YOU VLAD. hes not even really IN this episode, but just thought I'd throw out a nice fuck you anyway.

-'capable of blasting a single person into space in (2) minutes!' tucker. that would kill someone. i mean yeah they might get to space, but theres NO WAY THEY WOULDNT CATCH FIRE, OR THEIR ORGANS WOULDNT LIQUIFY BECAUSE OF THE STRAIN. THEY'D PROBABLY PASS OUT BEFORE THEN, BUT. ...no, okay, I get why vlad bought this company. this is RIGHT up his alley.

-danny KNOWS VAL DIDNT DO THIS, THAT SOMEONE STOLE THE SUIT. AND SPENDING ALL NIGHT CHATTING WITH HER. <3 and val is a 9TH DEGREE BLACKBELT?? danny's mom is, too!! omg and she hunts ghosts, his parents would love her. and her fav fruit is kumquat bc its a funny word. im so with danny val is amazing. I love her and I Do Not Want To Hear It From Sam.

-I knew danny wanted to be an astronaut, but the bowling tidbit is like. yes give me more useless info abt these characters, I love tiny details that make them feel more human, and im glad hes got hobbies aside from ghost stuff, we dont really see a lot of that!!! (I mean, we knew 'fun' danny from when he split himself in half liked bowling, so obv it makes sense he LIKES it, but hes very GOOD at it. so proud of him, bowling king) val calling him neil armstrong and them teasing each other. LOVE THAT.

-technus you are my favorite grandpa for setting this up. SAM WHY ARE YOU BEING SO CREEPY BE HAPPY FOR YOUR FRIEND!!! STOP SPYING ON THEM!!! who actually cares if technus did 'set them up' together, theyre having fun and enjoy each others company!!! 'you think the universe wants you two to be together?' 'i dunno, but maybe /I/ do!' EXACTLY DANNY!!! SOO TRUE.

-and valerie being happy sam said she wants to try and be happy for them and make room at the lunch table for them. and hugging sam over it. VAL NEEDS MORE FRIENDS.

-VAL GOING AFTER TECHNUS IN HER SUIT WITH (1) MILK, AND (1) TREE BRANCH AND KEYS!!!. I LOVE YOUUUU BEST GIRL. her new suit kicks ass

-dannys like 'HEY IM AN ASTRONAUT :D' AW. ...HES IN SPACE... the fact he's actually intending to give her the ring. with SAMS NAME ON IT?? IM CRINGING DANNY NO. -MADDIE GOING AFTER THE MOUSE WITH A BROOM, WHAT THE FUCK. AAAH. JUST BUY SOME KIND OF MOUSE TRAP.

-danny likes lime and vinegar chips. which sound very good.

-'our boy finally has the physical prowess of a 60 year old president!' ...poor danny LMAO

-'what's wrong with beauty pageants' oh tucker you sweet naïve child. what ISNT wrong with them. who approved this for a high school?? (I mean, yes. unfortunately child pageants exist, but...) also danny and tucker once again treating the pretty girls like objects. I need to meet the grown man who wrote this, I just want to talk...

-prince aragon's dragon form reminds me of maleficent (color scheme wise) which is always a bonus. considering the episode is called beauty marked, I feel like the sleeping beauty references are deliberate

-sam with the fake fangs. once again her accessories never miss. hate the 'not like other girls, girls who get sucked into this kind of thing are all shallow and all want to be carbon copies' bs tho.

-sam trying to be the Worst Bride, being rude as shit. DORA IS GOING TO GET KILLED. DID YOU MISS THE PART WHERE SHE SAID THE PRINCE WILL HAVE HER HEAD IF YOU ARENT THE IDEAL BRIDE. YOU /KNOW/ DANNY WILL COME SAVE YOU. JUST ACT CHILL UNTIL THEN. even if you were doing fine to get him to take off the crown, consider maybe not letting his poor sister get punished also?? sure, she could also take off the crown and has dragon powers, but did you know that for sure?? dora didnt even really realize it until you guys talked!! (or at least, she was scared to stand up to him. you had no guarantee she would...) but. good for dora. ANOTHER friendly ghost to add to the List :)

-tucker is so under appreciated in his time. if he was doing a tech-based campaign today he'd have a better shot. people in 2004 had NO IDEA how much tech would be a part of our day-to-day lives...altho. tbh if you're going to be running for student council president, maybe you should..focus on things to actually improve the school? since he's going for a tech angle, he could say like, he would be running fundraisers for the schools computers to be upgraded, etc? we've already SEEN he can be good at money-making entrepreneur type stuff!!

-oh my god wait. this episode is JUST YUGIOH?????! A REBORN PHAROH USING A TEENAGER AS A VESSEL?? YESSSSSS

-tucker using his new minion to feed him grapes and carry him. AND LOCUSTS ONTO THE BULLIES. I love how when he's possessed, he gains winged eyeliner.

-this episode is giving me big 'plankton makes everyone in bikini bottom his slaves and build monuments of him from the spongebob movie' vibes. and the pharaoh has a traitor who works for him? VERY big yugioh vibes. aknadin confirmed

-I like that danny is still completely exhausted after using ghostly wail. (still patiently waiting on him to get duplication)

-LOVE the fenton's 80s outfits. I get hes 14 and embarrassed by everything they do because theyre his parents, but. cmon, this is one objectively cool thing theyve done. love 80s fashion.

-...was vlad just standing on that streetlight waiting for danny to come out? how'd he know they'd be coming out the back? how long has he been up there???

-oh, wait, his ecto-acne has flareups? that SUCKS. danny was...well I dont want to say he was LUCKY HE HALF-DIED, but he was lucky his was pretty instant (I'm assuming that had to do with the power/scale of the portals being different?) I remember in the ep we met him, vlad made a point of saying he was stuck in a hospital for a long time, so. that really actually sucks and I feel bad. not that it excuses anything he's done...but like. it does suck.

-vlad being so sure danny wouldnt help him he made it somehow contagious to his friends to make sure he'd get help? danny is a nice boy, he wouldve helped if it was anyone else. the only reason he wouldn't have is because of the shit vlad did to him, on purpose. vlad 100% dug his own grave by being the biggest asshole, so it is very hard to feel bad for him.

-clockwork is back!!! and making danny learn lessons The Hard Way. Uhhh, okay. I kind of get Danny’s logic, that time traveling this far back would prevent vlad from becoming a halfa also, ergo no arch nemesis or ectoacne to worry about. But the fact that was basically the first solution Danny came up with to solve this problem is actually so funny. It’s so extreme

-APPRICIATION FOR THESE 80S LESBIAN BG CHARACTERS.

-vlad telling maddie in the lab (in the 80s) he has something he's wanted to tell her 'for a long time'...how long have they known each other? I assumed they met in college, since jack always calls vlad his college buddy/roommate, so jack and vlad for sure met in college, but did vlad know maddie longer? thats surprising if so. Tho we don’t know what year of college they’re in so they could mean they met as freshmen and a few years have past…speaking of maddie shes crushing the 80s look.

-vlad blames jack, but. maybe dont stick your face 2 inches from the portal??! THIS FEELS LIKE LAB SAFETY BASICS. IF SOMETHING HAS POTENTIAL TO BE DANGEROUS, DONT GET NEAR IT. WITH YOUR FACE UNPROTECTED IN ANY WAY. (altho jack didnt really give a Big Warning besides screaming BONZAI. so. also that, but cmon.) also, they need gloves, goggles, and to pull all of their hair back tbh. but fuck lab safety, I guess!

-cryyyyinnng at how lazy they were with jack's ghost form design, its just plasmius' design on jack!!! you couldve given him his own design!!

-there. I did that in about 10 minutes and its somehow less lazy than what made it into the show. embarrassing! better yet, I think the episode would've been better if maddie would've gotten the ectoacne. or maybe its just me, wanting to see her design! anyway. I'm sure people have already done redesigns of them both as halfas. I have to go look after I finish this watch through. Also mildly frustrated jacks resentment and bitterness is basically also a copy paste of vlads backstory. They’re different characters, I really don’t think jack would stew in bitterness and jealousy the same way vlad would!! I also don’t think he’d give up after one time of trying to hunt ghosts and getting laughed at. Our canon timeline says different…I dunno, I get it was for laughs, but I’m annoyed because the POTENTIAL this plot has…

-did vlad really wear a stupid cheese hat to his wedding. ok actually that kinda rules. and the cheese door knocker. the dairy-only buffet table. vlad still got rich, just on being the New Dairy King. (Assuming that means he owns a lot of dairy businesses?) ok! this actually is great. hope maddie isn't lactose intolerant!

-'no matter how hard I tried, I could never get rid of my ghost half, the half I knew Maddie could never accept' ohh, ouch, what a horrible thing to say to her HALF GHOST SON. 'YOUR MOM WILL NEVER ACCEPT YOU' BASICALLY.

-maddie strapping danny to the table with a lazer pointed at him in a secret lab she keeps from vlad that she makes a point of saying is sound proof so he can scream all he wants...CHRIST. DANNYS POOR PYSCHE.

-also, not to feel bad for alternate vlad (because, he did lie to maddie saying jack blames her and never wants to see her again...) but. being married to a woman 20+ years and she immediately goes back to jack? if she didnt love vlad and feels like she had to hide shit from him, and says she wasted her best years with him, WHY MARRY HIM. it feels like leading him on!!! cannot believe im feeling bad for vlad, but. this alternate timeline vlad is significantly Less Horrible than Our Vlad. did she not think she'd get funding for her ghost stuff? (which, fair assumption since they're considered 'ghost fanatics/nuts in canon...but...) why did she think jack or vlad would be her ONLY OPTIONS? be like your sister. be single. Actually, this au could’ve been really interesting if after the accident, vlad lied to her and said jack never wanted to see her again, but she stays single. Imagine how much that would bug vlad… like, in her mind, it was never a competition it was jack or no one type situation…

-danny being like 'leave him ALONE' this jack is a HOMEWRECKER, DANNY. let them go to court and settle this at the least. ...or just throw vlad into the portal. (100% human, defenseless vlad) CHRIST, MADDIE THATS BRUTAL. THATS MURDER.

-danny seeing his mom immediately accepting him and his dad being half ghosts in this universe, if I was him this would be a great sign that his universe's maddie would also.

-*maddie voice* "clockwork will help!" *2 seconds later, with clockwork* "I will Not Help." TOUGH LOVE KING. YES LET DANNY SEE THE SODA HIMSELF AND DEVOLP BETTER OBSERVATION SKILLS.

-when clockwork ""reset time to the way it was"" just before danny "meddled"" ...did he really erase a whole alternate timeline? ...damn. because maddie and danny both called it an alternate timeline by name, it splitting when the college incident went different, so it wouldnt have really mattered if he reset it, right. like because danny's timeline is on a different stream? why didnt clockwork just. show danny a replay and not Reset That Timeline. wh...I wonder how many people that Erased From Existence. Anyway! once again stating clockwork is casually terrifying!

SO I WATCHED THE STEVEN UNIVERSW FINALE

And since it's over, I'd like to give my final thoughts on most of the series, even Jasper now that I've seen how they ended her "arc".

I'm gonna list this in order of main characters, so this is concise.

Jasper-

I'm gonna get this out of the way now. Jasper was treated like actual shit and even I can see it. She got some redemption at the end I liked how they turned her into this trainer to help Steven deal with his anger. BUT I was hoping it would evolve and help Steven get through to her and make her open up. But instead she was shattered, turned into a Diamonds herald again, and then dismisses right at the end. I will respect Rebrccas decisions, but Jasper deserved much more then to be an emotional pin cushion for her poke into and never fix.

Garnet-

Garnet went though significant changes. She was very guarded in the begining, showing trust only between the gems really. But when she was split by Jasper she was forced to open up when Steven realized who she was. This opened the door to have her be more vulnerable, and strengthen her bond with Steven. And this went on throughout the series and I like how she was the first to initiate the hug that fixed Steven-Zilla (that's what I call him)

Amythest/Pearl-

I'm gonna lump these two together cause they kinda parallel each other, and you could fit Garnet with them you wanted to. Both Pearl and Amethyst were still caught up in the idea of Rose, and Amethyst never really knew Rose before so she always associated Rose as she was when she was born, Crystal Gem and a friend. She was also extremely immature, and I think that fed into Steven's immaturity, so she had to progressively get more adult and accept things were changing.

And Pearl was honestly a parallel of that, while also being an opposite. She did not relax, she was strict, she was secretive, and she had known Rose longest, as well as when she was still Pink. So she was caught up the most in the Gem Wars History. She had to open up the most and to learn to "live and let die" essentially. Or at least that's how I see it.

Peridot-

Peridot went through some of the most drastic changes. She was basically Spock from Star Trek, all logic and science, but more evil sociopath. But when Jasper was defeated, Peridot was left to her own devices and became a sort of Skeletor, plotting what she could do to defeat Steven and please Yellow. And it took her losing the status she wss given to figure out herself and be her own person (in her case litterally when her arms and legs were destroyed) She was able to separate herself from homeworld, and it took a long while for her to really become her own person.

Bismuth-

Bismuth wss someone I originally didnt care for at first glance. I understood her importance and wss ok with it. But when she first showed up I was fine with it. But when she was revealed to basically be a radical gem and Rose had to bubble her, I was hooked. And while her acceptance of Steven not only being Rose but also being Pink just seemed to quickly solved for me, I'll let it be.

Lapis-

Lapis is an anti hero who should not have just been accepted as fast as she was. I used to love Lapis and Lapidot, still kinda do.l, but looking at it now and what they did to Jasper as part of that, I cant ignore it. Yeah she grew as a person but it wasnt done properly. She almost killed Steven 3 times, broke Jasper emotionally with being a fusion for so long, and she never actually owned up to her faults I think. And her sudden reintroduction in the final battle of Homeworld and how she just, magically decided to be a better person felt forced. Just my own thoughts.

Diamonds-

Yellow remind me of the Dictator from the actual film Dictator , wanting to be better but treating it as face value. She is doing good but at litteral face value with changing a gems physical form. Blue to me is the same way, only trying to fix their in the moment emotional state. Honestly I think White was doing the most she could to help fix everything, since she was most at fault. She was letting herself become vulnerable to other gems to help them go through their problems and see themselves as they are, hopefully becoming better people. White in such a short time was doing more to help other gems then Yellow or blue.

Spinel-

Spinel got done dirty frankly. I love her inclusion in the end and I love her character, flaws and all, but they felt abandoned in the end. I'm assuming that Steven Universe Future takes place some months after the events of the film. MONTHS. The type of trauma and abandonment issues Spinel dealt with dont go away in sheer months, especially when it comes to 600 years worth of abandonment. And when she was with the diamonds she just seemed fine, devoid of any issues. She was hesitant to go with the Diamonds hell she openly denied Steven's immediate friendship offer and said "I need time to figure this out, and I cant do it here." I can't just accept that Spinel got through that as fast as she did, not without some underlying issues left over from her past. You cant change my mind on that sorry.

Greg-

Omg Greg my boi, I wanna give him a hug and hot chocolate. The idea he had a ruff childhood and felt he needed to leave how he did, and how his parents never actually responded to his letters, its heartbreaking and it shows why he raised Steven how he did. He had too many lmits and he wanted Steven to have none of those limits. And him being half Gem complicated it, making Greg unsure about hospitals, about traditional schools, it's why he just let the Gems take over as his "mother(s)" because he knew they could help. Of course that caused issues that cant be ignored. But it just shows you why he is the way he is. And it hurts it really does.

Everyone else-

No real comment on anyone else, Lars and Ssdie are both league's ahead of who they started as. The Off Colors are still a delight I wouldve loved more inclusion of them though, Onion and his family eh never cared much for them accept the mom cause she was awesome, no real thoughts.

Connie-

Connie is, a whole new person from who she once was. I think she, without Steven, wouldve become what Greg could've been. But Steven helped her, out of everyone, become something even better then who she was. And it even helped her parents become more open to both Steven as a person, and Connie as a growing person. I have no beef with her character development, she was done amazingly well.

And finally,

Steven -

Steven is... how should I put this, a mixed bag for me. While he most certainly grew as a person, mastered his powers and most of his responsibilities, I cannot say I like how he was treated this final season. Yes Steven Universe: Future was focused him moving on from the past, inevitable change, and learning things he never knew about before. Things felt too fast for him in that season, even if time was passing longer for him, it felt too short. His downfall from grace felt to sudden, his progression to becoming a sort of "Surogate Pink" was too jarring (still fun to watch I love the idea of it)

His training with Jasper even, yeah they played it out like he changed so fast, but THREE DAYS? In one episode? No I wouldve preferred he spend a month or so with Jasper, they show they're relationship, Jasper gets actual time to develop and become a character that we wanted her to become. Hell you could've still shattered her, and it wouldve made her becoming a diamonds herald again more heart breaking, and they could've spent time on helping her get over that mindset.

All in all, Steven's character development was fun, but left much to be desired.

All in all, while the series as a whole was enjoyable, it was by no means perfect. It had many ups, plenty of downs, and I think it's a good example what to do and what not to do when writing an growing narrative. Rebecca Sugar rushed Steven Universe: Future too fast, she left many ends open ended and unanswered, and I give the final season a 6 out of 10.

I'm not sure if you've been asked this already, but I finished death note today and I was wondering about your opinion of Misa? since you give her so much love

this is a very fun and sexy question and i thank u for asking it! (im also gonna answer it publicly, i hope u dont mind)

the short version of how i feel about misa is, essentially, that she is THE most important character in the story, bar none.

firstly, she possesses a level of social awareness and people skills/emotional intelligence that light simply does not have. he looks the part, sure, and he does have a certain level of charisma, but his interactions with other people - especially people he considers “lesser,” which is pretty much everyone for mister god complex - are stilted and awkward, meaning that no one ever fully trusts him. for example, the only reason misora was bested by him (in-universe, anyway) was due to his connection to L, someone she DOES trust - she knew that light was off somehow and even gave him a false name at first to protect herself. in a more meta sense, it was shitty writing on ohbas part since it was basically a crap excuse to get her out of the story, as i think everyone knows that misora wouldve solved the case in 2 seconds had she been allowed to live.

misa, on the other hand, is VERY easy to trust, because everyone she encounters underestimates her. its easy to see why - shes ditzy, not very book smart, obsessive of light, and overall pretty flighty. but her initial conversation with light and her manipulation of higuchi later on make it very clear that she isnt really like that. she knows how people view her and uses that to her advantage. she messes things up for the detectives on purpose and uses her “brainless celebrity” persona to justify it. but working as the second kira, her actions are completely calculated and well thought out.

to circle back to why shes the most important character, its pretty simple - if she hadnt come in when she did and killed ukita, light would have gotten caught right away. its that simple. L already knew light was the killer, and only had to gather the evidence to prove it before arresting him, which he was already on his way to doing (due to the murder of lind l taylor isolating him as living in kanto, his intimate knowledge of the criminals in custody identifying him as someone with ties to the police department, and his “killing schedule” identifying him as a student). misa coming in and killing ukita without knowing his name and in such a public, messy way was actually a massive boon to light, as it threw the detectives off his trail long enough that L was no longer able to act using the same information as before. in spite of that, no credit is given to misa for basically allowing the series to happen, and she tends to be cast to the wayside by fans because of it

this is an overarching problem with ohba as a writer. its well known that death note has absolutely ABHORRENT writing for its women characters, and is just deeply misogynist in its content. although misa is basically indispensable as a character, shes treated as superfluous due to ohbas views on women, similarly to takada (who, in fairness, is much less important to the story than misa) and misora, both intelligent characters in their own right who instead get pigeonholed into their connections to some of the male characters. but instead, shes one of the most interesting characters in the entire story, with a backstory that actually explains why she’d want to work with someone like kira and a personality that makes her much more sympathetic than light as a main character. instead, she gets delegated to “gothic lolita eyecandy”.

the anime adaptation tried a bit harder to rectify that by making misa more classically troubled and sad, like with the addition of her song showing her doubts about light, but the manga really couldnt decide what kind of personality they wanted her to have. they flipflopped between useless ditz misa and cold calculated killer misa (one of my favorite misas by the way) so often that its clear they couldnt figure out what to do with her. she had such an incredible amount of potential to be the storys breakout character due to her subtle influence on everything, but ohba hates women so much that all potential for it was completely squandered! it infuriates me to this day and i will never forgive death note for how it treated misa. ok thats it LMAO

YES I love a good evil / Villain Mary plot, if only because she had so much potential as one in S3 and just never fell through with it. I know a fic I DIDN’T put on this list because Mary was such a background character that she shows up in the penultimate chapter and her REVEAL as a villain was the “big spoiler reveal” in the fic’s climax, so rather than spoil that fic for y’all, I’ve omitted it all together; feel free to message me if you want to know which fic it was, LOL.

Captured part one

Dean chose to go at this hunt alone. Thats what led him here, he was informed that there was a demon lurking nearby the bunker so in the middle of the night he chose to sneek out and take care of it himself. What he didnt know is there were ten more demons with the one he was told about.

He tried to fight them off but he was out numbered. He tried to reach for his cellphone but one of the demons punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground.

"Dean winchester, i cannot express how much pleasure it gives me to finally meet you." One of the demons, dean guessed it was the leader said kneeling down beside him.

Dean snickered, cocky as ever. "Buddy i wish i could say the same." That remark earned dean another punch to the jaw.

"Woooo." The demon yelled, "you dont disappoint. I cant wait to show you everything we have in store for you."

"Eat me." Dean spit the venomus words out, all he got in return is laughter. Then dean heard sirens from a cop car, dean lunged forward grabbing his gun firing a shot into the air. The cop car turned and headed that way. Before dean could get his feet under him another demon knocked him on his back, kicking the gun from his hand.

The cop car stopped right in front of them, the driver side door opened and dean could see his feet as he walked around the car. "Whatve we got here?" The cop said, dean opened his mouth to speak when the cop kneeled down in fromt of him. "Dean winchester, we have been looking for you for a long time." The cops eyes flashed black and he smiled a sadistic smile.

Deans eyes went wide as he said "son of a bitch." The cop used the but of his gun and hit dean in the head, knocking him out cold.

As dean lay on the ground unconcious the demons gathered around. "Alright," the leader spoke, "trey you take him back to the station and make sure he stays there. We will take care of the other arrangements."

The cop, known as trey nodded and dragged dean to his car. He slapped some handcuffs on him before shoving him in the backseat. Trey got in and drove off taking dean to the police station. The leader then picked deans cell phone up from the ground and texted sam and deans girlfriend (Y\N).

'More demons than i thought. Need your help asap. Meet me at the police station.'

He hit send then smashed the phone. One of the demons stepped forward. "Now what do we do lucian?"

Lucian the leader smiled and crouched down outside the bunker. "Now we just wait for the mice to take the bait."

Readers pov

I couldnt sleep without dean, i dont know where he went but he better get his ass home fast. I stood in the kitchen drinking my bottle of water when my phone buzzed from the counter. A text from dean came in, when i read it i instantly became worried. It didnt sound like dean, its not something he would text plus he wouldve called not texted.

A few minutes later sam came sprinting down the hall, "hey, you get a text from dean too?" He asked, i nodded and i could see the same worry on his face that i felt. "Its not dean."

I nodded "i know, thats what is worrying me. If its not him then who is it."

"Dont know but i know the police station is a trap. Thats more than likely where deans at." Sam said as he walked down the hallway back to his room to get ready, i followed right behind him.

"What are we gonna do." I asked from the doorway.

He was packing everything we needed for demon hunting. "We go in smart."

I nodded and ran to mine and deans room to get dressed. I slid my demon blade into my boot and placed my gun in the waistband of my jeans. After i was completely sure i remembered everything i ran back to sams room where he was just finishing putting on his flannel.

"You ready?" Sam asked throwing the duffle bag over his shoulder.

I nodded, "i just hope hes okay."

Sam smiled and placed his hand on my shoulder. "Its dean we are talking about. You know hes probably sitting tied up somewhere pissed that he cant kill them all hisself."

I smiled and nodded, "yeah thats true."

We walked up the bunker stairs and made our way out to the garage. Sam walked and opened the trunk and threw the duffle bag in the back. Just as sam shut the trunk he was ambushed from behind, being slammed into the trunk.

"Sam!" I yelled and pulled my gun out. I aimed it right between the mans eyes as he smiled at me. He flashed his eyes black but it didnt deter me, i fired off a shot the bullet landing right between his eyes. Little did that demon know, the gun that fired the bullet was the colt itself.

The demon let go of sam and fell to the ground dead. At that moment two more demons appeared and tried to grab sam. "(Y/N) run!" Sam yelled but i couldnt leave him. The one bigger man slammed sams head into the trunk of the car, sam fell to the ground limp.

I fired off another shot but the demon dodged it. He dashed around the car cornering me at the back of the garage. It was dark back here and we didnt turn the light on. Fear turned to panic when it went silent. No footsteps, no voices, nothing but silence.

"Sam!" I yelled but he didnt answer. "Damn it." I whispered holding one of my hands out in front of me trying to feel if anyone was around me. I felt nothing but air, but i could feel him watching me. I knew he was still here. Just as i thought about bolting something hit me in the side of the head and i knew no more.

Dean was starting to come to, he had no idea how long he had been out or where he was. His head pounded more than the worst hangover and his eyes felt like there was sand in them. He opened his eyes slowly and the florescent light above him made his head ache that much worse.

He looked around when he finally was able to keep his eyes open and focus. He was handcuffed to a chair, a long metal table was in front of him with another metal chair at the other end. One door was to his front and to his right was a two way mirror. A police station. He had to be in a police station, he had seen more than his share of them in his life so he ought to know.

He tested the handcuffs but there was no way of getting loose without the keys. Just then the door opened and the same damn demon walked in smiling. He placed a cup of coffee in front of dean and motioned for him to drink it.

The demon then chuckled, "how silly of me. You cant drink if youre handcuffed to a chair now can you."

Dean felt a sliver of hope, thinking the demon was going to uncuff him. The demon fiddled around in his pocket and pulled out a straw and placed it in the cup.

"There ya go. Problem solved." The demon said sitting on the table in front of dean. Dean just glared at him, never taking a sip. "You might wanna drink that. Youll need to be fully aware for the next event."

"And what event is that?" Dean asked in a growl.

The demon chuckled and stood up. "Its a surprise deano." Just the the door opened again and another demon dean recognuzed walked in and whispered in the main guys ear. "Wonderful!" The demon exclaimed.

He walked over to dean and bent down to his eye level. "Lets have some fun."

OK guys hear me out on this but- I think that the entire TAZ world, or at least the seven red-robes are running on a constant majoras mask/refuge year long loop that resets with the earth being devoured by The Hunger, and that there is a second voidfish that (up until now) kept this a secret

There will be a tl;dr at the end

SECOND VOIDFISH

UPDATE: CONFIRMED AS OF EPISODE 58

This is up first because its less of a theory and is something I have no doubts about happening in canon. There is a second fully functioning voidfish out there, and it is blocking memories from *everyone*

- First and foremost, the huge memory gaps each of the boys find that they have in the eleventh hour when June is going back through their memories, emphasized by the fact Magnus�� had the biggest gap

- This is made especially evident by Magnus remembering a book floating in the voidfish tank, I strongly believe that this was the book of the “lonely journal keeper” keeping record of all the events of the red robes, it was destroyed by the voidfish, explaining the huge memory static in THB

- Magnus only began remembering because he died, this ones obvious because the episode started off with an explanation of how voidfish cannot suppress memory from beyond the grave.

- The reason it is coming back so slowly (shoutout to Brian for figuring this out) is because of how unconventionally Magnus died, he was seperated from his body, killed, and then possessed another body. If he had died ‘normally’ his memories wouldve been restored in a similar manner to when they drank the voidfish water

- This is also how Barry remembers! he was dead- with this information, we could argue that literally any living person could be a red robe without knowing

update: now we know who the red robes are

- (EDIT): Its possible the second void fish is the “EGG BABE” the voidfish told Magnus about! given that communication is difficult, the voidfish could have matured enough to be able to consume and hide memories as well

LOOP THEORY

Getting it out of the way now, Refuge is the biggest foreshadowing for this theory, (see more at the end of this post), the entire arc in and of itself was basis for what the entire world is like.

I believe that the world, is being looped in a Refuge-esc style.

I’m not sure where it starts, but it ends with the world, each individual plane, being eaten by The Hunger. akin to how each loop in Refuge ended with being eaten by the purple worm.

The only difference being not every loop is exactly the same, things are different slightly each time- which explains why there were two suns, and the sky was purple in Magnus’ memory. I think that was his origin before the loops began.

evidence:

- (UPDATE) The vision the voidfish showed Magnus "12 multicolored circles rotating in perfect harmony with one another" Then a Bright white circle flies into the center, and the circles begin to make more intricate movements and rhythms until a large black circle appears and consumes all the other circles. Eventually the white light breaks from the black circle and the entire pattern repeats.”

It’s unclear right now what the white circle is, but the large black one is clearly the 13th plane, The Hunger. The scene the voidfish is describing is what has been happening over and over in the loop, repeating when The Hunger consumes all (and the white plane escapes).

- In the eleventh hour Griffin tells the boys that something about dying like this is ‘familiar’, while theyve gotten close to death before in the podcast theyve never truly died, how could it be familar if they hadn’t been reliving an even bigger loop unknowingly for years

- Kravitz states the boys have died more than anyone hes seen before! He acts as though he cant understand /how/, this was before the 11th hour so there’s literally no explanation other than they’ve been dying over and over again from the hunger, on a loop (EDIT: it was bought to my attention that Kravitz stated they have different death counts! taako having the least and merle having the most- while this complicates things i still think the loop is possible)

- Barry Bluejeans turning to Magnus and saying “next time”, theyve been trying to save the world over and over in each loop, unable to succeed (until now??)

- This quote from Istus "Our existence is made up of countless realities where the same people are just doing the same actions at the same time in parallel worlds throughout the echoes of creation, except for you! The three of you are the only three that there are doing the things the three of you do here in this world! When I say that you’re unique, I’m not being flattering, I’m being quite literal… The three of you are anomalies, and I certainly have god-like powers and I don’t like to brag, but I’ve never known anything like the three of you and I don’t know why that is, but I’m intrigued…”

This is relevant because this is going to be the loop that they break.

- It’s important also, because THB broke the loop in refuge, foreshadowing that they could potentially break the one around the world

- Another helper on the “loops but everything is slightly different” is @martypines’s theory that the second sun in the purple sky that Magnus saw could be a base for the red robes! similar to the bureaus except, well, a sun

every arc is foreshadowing for end game

1 (here there be gerblins) - basically Barry Bluejeans’ origin story, cant be asked to expect much from here seeing as griffin had barely started fleshing out the story until halfway through the arc

2 (murder on the rockport limited) - (UPDATED: thanks to this anon!) murder on the rockport limited taught us and the boys not to trust people by their first expectations, similar to the attitude shown towards the redrobes. that attention to detail, a keen eye and the boy detective are key to solving a mystery

3 (petals to the metal) - Introduces us to the fact not everyone who takes a relic is evil, and more importantly, the sheer strength and power that love has. Hurley is able to break the thrall the sash has on Sloane through the power of her love.

4 (crystal kingdom) - The astral plane got introduced the most prominently here, showing us the ability to pass between them, the fact people live on past death, and that multiple dimensions do exist. There was probably a lot more important exposition I’ve forgotten.

5 (the eleventh hour) - The most important arc imo!! The entire concept of looping is introduced here, that a whole town can be completely unaware theyre reliving the same day over and over again, resetting as they are all killed. It also introduces the concept that red robes arent inherently evil

6 (the suffering game) - Unsure as of the moment, it was very endgame.

MISC BUT STILL IMPORTANT

Magnus and the red robes were collecting information about the loops, and trying to fight against it. I also strongly believe that they are the seven birds in the prophecy.

- This is backed up by the book being destroyed in the voidfish tank, I believe that was written by “The Lonely Journal-Keeper”

UPDATE: CONFIRMED: this is what lucretia was doing

- This would explain the reason Magnus knew to protect the chalice in Refuge! because the red robes had already figured out the global loop that was happening, and it was almost an unintentional test run?

EDIT: I believe LUP was the leader of the redrobes, and might be still alive but very out of action. (UPDATE: Davenport was the leader, chalupa theory got confirmed) I strongly believe she was the one speaking to Taako through telecommunication (no other female redrobe has been introduced by name excluding her, it makes the most sense!)

I think shes the leader, or at least, was very strongly important to their ‘family’ (in barrys words) because of the strong emotional connection Taako feels, he cant distinguish it but its there. LUP meant a lot to all of the redrobes when they were alive, i mean, she was able to convince Taako ‘dont trust anybody or anything’ to trust Barry. (UPDATE: Chalupa theory was correct)

prophecies and their continued relevance

" But I saw a brilliant light heralded by seven birds flying tirelessly from the storm. I saw seven birds: the twins, the lover, the protector, the lonely journal keeper, the peacemaker, and the wordless one.”"

I am almost certain that the birds in Maureen’s prophecy are the red robes. the lonely journal seeker would be the one who wrote the book we saw getting fed to the voidfish. this is backed up by “A Brilliant light[...] flying tirelessly from the storm”, i believe the light is the silver ship we saw in Magnus’ memories.

(UPDATE: confirmed, and

taako & chalupa = the twins barry = the lover magnus = the protector lucretia = the lonely journal keeper merle = the peacemaker davenport = the wordless one)

“In the future, you will be offered a terrible choice, between two options that will determine the fate of reality itself. In this moment of crisis, remember: There is always a third option.”

"And I cannot make the difficult decision that lies at the end of your quest for you, but I can grant you the time that you need to make that decision."

This is the choice that will determine the fate of both the world and the astral plane, it’s also what Istus said she would give the boys time to choose as seen in the second quote. She’s granting them the time they need to find and make that third choice

The first one just looks like an ocean made out of tar, with a black sky above it, and this tar is like bubbling, and you see some stuff moving under the surface of the tar but you can’t make out what it is, and that’s on the left picture. And the one on the right is just a grey world, covered in ash, that is just completely barren and lifeless.

Shoutout to bee for figuring this out a few weeks back! This is what we believe the boys will have to choice between, saving the astral plane (1st) or saving the physical (2nd). I am not as confident in HOW this will play out, but it is relevant.

UPDATE: all but confirmed that these are descriptions of what the astral/physical planes are becoming due to the hunger!!

- "I have one last prophecy for you, Taako. Something you will need to know. In your hour of greatest need, you will find the power that you seek from the man wreathed in flames."

- And they’re these dark blue circle, like, iron-on emblems. And inside of each of these blue fabric circles, there are twelve more circles, all of different colors around the outside of each badge. And in the middle is a word that’s written in a language that none of you recognize. You cannot read, you cannot make out what the word is, what these badges are for, because you cannot read the word in the middle. And tucked in between these three badges is a note that says, “For Your Eyes Only”

- "(..) Sewn into its breast you see a familiar sight- you see a circular patch with a design containing twelve multi-colored circles and a sort of shifting imparsible text in the middle of it. Only Magnus, you can read that text plain as day, it says “I.P.R.E.”

update: basically confirmed, these were THEIR redrobe patches

TL;DR

Time is looping on repeat, every loop being a slight variant but always ending with The Hunger swallowing the world whole, causing a reset.

The vision the voidfish showed Magnus is the happenings of every loop.

Refuge’s entire existence is foreshadowing for the global loop

There is a second voidfish suppressing everyone’s memories of said loops, especially the red robes. the reason Magnus and Lich-Barry remember is because they died (CONFIRMED)

This means that literally anyone alive could be another red robe without knowing

The red robes are a group of seven, who worked together to gather information about the loop and try to break it.

LUP was the leader of the red robes (it was davenport)

The patches the boys received in the candlenights lunar interlude are red robe patches (CONFIRMED)

Maureen’s prophecy about the seven birds is about the red robes

Paloma's prophecy about making the third choice is about THB choosing between the astral and physical plane somehow, possibly by breaking the loop

Istus used her divine power to give the boys more time to make the third choice, which is, to break the loop

headcanons for maizono who was masterminds with mukuro and killed junko

heres ur headcanons maizono! i hope u like them, and if u want me to make any changes just let me know and i can do so! - mod kiibo - maizono hadnt actually ever intended on killing anyone. after all, why would a cute idol like her even want to kill someone? stuff like that was just downright scary! even when she met mukuro and junko, she didnt realize that her life would be taking a deadly turn within a short period of time. something like that just didnt make any sense - when junko died, maizono just wanted to spend some time with mukuro and get to know her. after all, they were classmates! why wouldnt she want to know the girl a little better. everything was going fine... until it wasnt. maizono was astonished when she saw junkos dead body, and mukuros cry of surprise sounded almost bloodcurdling to her - during the mourning period, maizono started spending a lot more time with mukuro, trying to comfort her and help her get over the loss of her little sister. she couldnt have known what mukuro was planning, and she had no idea what to think when mukuro suggested started a killing game in junkos memory, but something possessed her to agree - not long after junkos untimely death, maizono found herself plotting with mukuro and trying to figure out what kind of killing game junko would have really wanted. while talking about all the different execution methods they could use maizono still felt uneasy, but for some strange reason she was beginning to become more and more accustomed to death - at the start of the killing game, maizono and mukuro both knew that they had to disappear before the first class trial. after all, the best way to keep their tracks hidden and stay out of trouble was to make sure everyone thought that they were dead. thankfully, the two of them thought out a plan beforehand, and they were intent on using it as soon as they could - even though maizono wasnt really dead, she had to pretend to die in front of her killer, and once he left to destroy evidence maizono checked to make sure she didnt have any bad wounds and could effectively play the role of a dead person. she didnt like people trying to investigate her body, but she knew that it was for the killing game to commence - one of the good parts about the plan maizono and mukuro had about the first murders was the fact that they could be the ones to force the killing game to a start, even if nobody else wanted to kick things into action. plus, they got to execute someone just because they wanted to. maizono felt a bit guilty and sorry for leon, but this killing game was for junko - as the game continued to drag on and maizono and mukuro got to watch everyone bringing each other to their own demises, maizono couldnt help but wonder what she would do if she werent actually the mastermind. she tried not to think about it too much, though, because what she wouldve done didnt matter as long as she was safe and sound - when the mysteries of the school were starting to get solved, maizono had absolutely no clue what to do. she never planned for everything to get that far! when she tried asking mukuro for advice, though, mukuro wasnt quite sure what to do about the investigating either, and the two were basically just forced to wait until the truth came out - after the big mastermind reveal, maizono really didnt want to die. after all, this killing game was never for her or for mukuro. she and mukuro both knew that junko wouldve chosen death in this situation, though, so maizono walked to her death feeling immense guilt, and sorrow over all the deaths she caused in junko enoshimas memory

i have some thoughts (that i didnt already rb) now that ive caught up with the show. im gonna write them as a list bc theres a bunch of different ones and its overwhelming in the uncomfortable way lol. the thoughts are under the cut bc this got way too long

if they dont go with budd1e in the end, we’re running into this same old problem; no new relationship can compete with the emotional depth that they have. considering everything that has happened between them for 3 seasons (i do NOT have the energy to list every meaningful thing lol) and now even eddie trusting buck to raise his son if hes gone, their bond will always overshadow everything else. this is why also everything romantic that happened between buck and taylor in this episode felt very strange and superficial bc during all of this episode buck has been yelling and crying for eddie, saving his life, running around desperately and in shock bc of eddie, wishing he wouldve taken the bullet for eddie, ignoring the sniper threatening his life bc of his concern for eddie and the awfulness of his absence, dropping everything (including taylor) to be with eddie and christopher, and finally being trusted to raise chris if eddie is gone. also the parallel of the other person that got shot being bobby and how he was saved by his partner, who is his WIFE. buck and eddie will always choose each other over everyone else that isnt chris.

even if they by some miracle do go with budd1e, im still so disappointed that they did this romantic plot with buck and taylor. and the reason is that i loved their friendship. their scenes were some of my favorites, their banter was very enjoyable to watch. theyre in some ways similar people and could easily have a great friendship that included a lot of the healthy competition that they both want, even if it couldnt reach the level of emotional depth that buck has with the other ppl on the fire squad (for example bc of the massive trust issues buck was shown to still have for taylor in this episode). but now shes being put into competition with eddie and is losing badly, which i think is so unfortunate for her bc she could be a great character and a fan favorite in other ways.

one more thing abt taylor that im mad the writers did with her. shes making her moves when buck is very obviously in a bad, fucked up state (bc of the eddie related things i listed in point 1)........... like yeah buck is receptive but still the timing is awful and kind of creepy. she literally saw him when he was running around frantically making thoughtless plans and choices and, held his hands that were shaking so much he couldve dropped his phone. she shouldve known better, especially if they want us to believe that bucks assumption that she was gonna run a story abt his situation was wrong and she isnt that kind of bad person anymore. this is especially bad bc buck has been emotionally taken advantage of in the past once already (the time his therapist slept with him)

okay moving on to eddies side of things a bit. i do honestly think eddies relationship with ana was officially doomed to fail at the “just make sure youre following your heart, not christophers” scene (altho there are other things like the lack of trust, plot, screentime and emotional depth in comparison to other characters and yes, obviously especially to buck), but if they were to make them a permanent couple, this plot with making buck the next legal guardian is an extremely weird thing to include in the story and could become problematic to solve. lets assume they stay together for years and then eddie dies. the two options are buck does get christopher and ana, eddies partner who presumably has lived with chris for years, is out of the picture, or eddies will is broken/changed which would make this powerful moment in 4x14 a lot less meaningful. so......???? what do (and honestly this line of thinking would still be relevant with any other partner he may have in the future that isnt buck while chris is a kid)

okay lastly fandom related stuff. first i hope when theyre complaining ppl arent holding some idiots who attack oliver, who is an actor and cant affect the story, for baiting as the same idea as people being critical of the storys narrative failings......... and i hope they dont think you shouldnt criticize the failings bc some ppl are idiots........

okay i hope i wrote this in a way that accurately describes my thoughts. and i hope its clear that i dont want to bash taylor and ana, but im trying to genuinely analyze the narrative and consider past associations to see what the characters need. also im writing this when only s4 is out so truly i cant express my final opinion on these issues yet bc i dont know how the show will continue and turn out in the end.

Sad Day and Farewell...

August 18, 2019

Start Time: 12:52 PM (Should be sleeping for work but i wanted to do this while the feeling is still there...)

Also, Im not sure if this should be a private post or no...never know about wandering eyes. Alas it matters not, but the thoughts do. No music this time either...just me and my thoughts. I want to reach out, and I want to say, “I’ll be there.” I want to extend my hand, and say, “No matter what, I still care.” Followed by messages of “call me, text me, if you need me, I’ll be your support.” But now...I dont even know if you like me at all. I would lie to hide my pride and say its fine. But its not, I am genuinely hurt inside. I’ve lost so many, the memories come rushing back. I never thought I would lose you too...especially in this fashion. But here, I express my pain, my grievances...and possible regrets. My dilemma also, about speaking to you again. Not that I don’t want to, but what if you dont want to hear from me? What if you’re cutting me out, and leaving me no option? What if this is what you want, and I am clueless to such? What if my genuine feelings fall upon deaf ears...or worst defined as false? What if everything I would want to tell and say, would be deemed as lies? My credibility shot, honesty no longer found in my lines? These thoughts race in my brain as I take with strides this pain. Oh, how my heart aches, and oh how close it is, to break... I don’t know where to start, where to begin. Perhaps the obvious, with a lingering question...are we still friends? Or should the signs and signals point me to the obvious, I am dumbfounded. It seems, that I am no longer who I thought I was to you...as though Ive changed all of the sudden. I believe I have changed, except for the better if i must say so. Years of tomfoolery has gained me some wisdom, but I am still a fool. I am not all knowing or a sage by any means. But I believe I’ve grown for the better, and yet your opinions on me seem derogatory. It seems you think of me as a sort of degenerate, is it true? Or has another opinion swayed your thoughts, changing them to be polar opposite? I never knew of nor saw, nor heard, of anything Ive said or done to offend you. I am dumb to an extent, but I am human too. I make mistakes, I would like to correct them if I may. It seems however, that it has come to a point where it is much too late. I would like to believe however, that it will not forever be this way. That it could be years from now, but there will still be a moment in time we, or I, can re-conciliate. Say sorry, apologize, for the things I have done to hurt you. I never meant to, I meant it all in good will, I just want to look out for you. It hurts me to know, that you would believe rumors of me, why would that be so true to you? Do I not have a chance in the court room? I can clear my name, the judge is to blame. I scream foul play, but the sentencing has been rendered, my name slandered, shamed. Have I truly no say, unto you? Why won’t you believe for a second, that these accusations are untrue? I have so many questions, but do I ask you? Your ears are biased, I don’t believe they would perceive my words with neutral. I don’t understand, years you have known me, have I not shared much of myself with you? Years you have known me, and none have you told me of the things i do that bother you? I love you to a certain degree that extends farther than most. Would I change? Would I have changed? I assume I would and would’ve. I want you to be pleased with me, I would adjust to you accordingly. I would never want to drive you away, at least not intentionally. To be apart of my life is something I would wish for like most. One of my closest claimed folks, them I cherish the most. Things could be different, and how drastically it is now by other means. Change has taken effect, in ways I do not like, I whole heartedly disagree. This outcome is tragic, to say the utmost very least. I am hurt, and I feel powerless, to do anything.

These words may never reach you, they may never be heard. These words are for you, but you’re already gone. But still, in my heart, you, the purest form of you remain. My feelings, besides the pain, remain the same. I feel as though a veil has been pulled over your eyes, and your brain poisoned with taint by a snake. Its venom flowing through your veins, as you spit it back, retaliate. Even as the venom seeps into my skin, and threatens death. I still have love for you, for you until I dying breath. You may not care for me, but I don’t care any less. I keep you in my heart, this I reiterate to you, with my final breaths. I care for few in such a fashion, and you are one of the few. I value you greatly, I never wished to hurt you. I apologize in hindsight, if it means anything. I apologize for my immaturity, I couldn’t help it. I feel what I feel, and I wear my heart on my sleeve. I can’t mask my emotions, they tell their own stories. If you ever change your mind about me in a positive light, know that I have ears for you. An open heart and open arms, this remains true. I care for you so much, I even gave you space. I’ve remained patient, waiting, for you to reach out to me. If you ever felt like talking to me, or even venting about your current events. I’ve even kept your secrets just as you have asked, because you shared it to me with confidence. I wouldve wanted to say something of it, to take preventive measures and preemptive strike. Nip it in the bud as they say, to clear the air and get things right. And now I find myself a part of a list I never thought I would be a part of. But for you, my dear, in me you will still find, a heart of love. I am confused, angry to an extent, hurt even more. But I can see that I’ve played my part, and that I am needed no more. At least, hopefully for only this time. I am still here, patiently waiting for a redo, thinking about the good times. I wish we could solve things, hash them out, and sort through whatever the beef would be. I never had a clue there was any animosity between you and me. I believe in forgiveness, of course always to a certain extent. Hopefully one day you’ll forgive me, as I only wish for the best. I don’t know what more I can say, I’ll run in circle for days. Trying to drill into you, that although some things were said, I still have love for you. I know all of this doesn’t really play up that I am also at fault. That it doesn’t fully capitalize on me fucking up. But I don’t feel like I did to such a degree that it was a crime. But here I am, still serving time for a so called crime. Wish we could talk it out, its been radio silence between us. I wish you would’ve told me, I wish I had the chance to change, correct, make up. Seems like the opportunity is lost and gone, and now I wait. For you, to come back, if you ever wish to that is...

The door remains open to you, all you have to do is knock and I’ll let you in. I wouldn’t do you like that, truth, genuine. With all the love and care, I still wish you well. In the deepest part of my soul, I wish for you happiness, a kind that I have rarely felt... Be well friend, I will miss you indeed. To be continued, or the end? That will be the mystery...

QUESTION 1. What is your favorite scene in the comic so far and why?

for me i think my favorite scene is more a series of scenes where they first meet david and try to teach him the ropes of being on the streets. especially when they hit the moment where they cant get shelter for the night so actually have to sleep on the streets. the contrast really impacted me quite a lot

i also liked how it showed some of the warmer side to lev and ricky since they took it in a rather positive stride. i know if i had been in david's shoes, i wouldve been really hit with a brick of reality in that moment

Bit late, as per typical for me. Favorite scene... possibly where Lev sees that fax? It throws everything into a bit of a new light, which I usually find interesting, new perspectives and all.

Though I gather the author hadn't expected it to be that big of a deal from glancing at the comments.

Yeah, the ropes thing was well portrayed too. I think the way the artwork is done kind of helps with showing the difficulties, somehow... gritty? Words fail me.

Now I'm double checking... oh, the author said they hadn't thought it would be a key moment of the story when starting, but it is.

idk if id say the artwork was gritty personally speaking cause of seen grittier. but i do think the artwork fits really well and has a dark and bleak quality to it

The other thing about that reward for David thing, it actually misdirected me a bit. I thought they guys would be trying to track him down, to get the reward money for him to save Ricky. Instead they did the hotel heist.

I was wondering a little about that, but considering what the guy had just experienced, I felt like they'd have to stumble on David. Rather than him seeking them out. And possibly getting a gun in his face again.

I would not like that, but then, I'm really not a fan of guns.

Which makes me kind of torn about the comic, because on the one hand, guns are not tools to solve problems, but on the other hand, the homeless guys are kind of responsible in using them and I liked the acknowledgement about conserving ammo.(edited)

yeah honestly i kind of appreciated david left and didnt comeback. cause i felt that was a bit more true to life. since its not like ricky and lev are bffs with him just for showing him the ropes. theyre more like helpful strangers. and if you meet strangers who get you beat up, probably best not to hang with those people

The other kind of true to life thing was how not everybody was immediately on board with Lev and his plans. Some thought things were going too far -- and even before the casino some thought that. I liked that perspective.

I also suspected they'd have at least one casualty, to keep things realistic. Expectations met there.

i felt really sad for the guy who died. but on the otherhand it was well-deserved in the sense the hobos were in way over their heads. like that went beyond too far XD the fact any of them survived is a miracle(edited)

Yeah... I feel like Lev was once in the military though? Or guerrilla warfare? Like, I wonder if his apparent dementia (seeing people as lions) is related to previous experiences.

He knows things, is what I'm getting at. But he got tired of explaining things to people. Maybe.

Now I wonder how he ended up in Paris.

i feel like Lev had at least used a gun before. it didnt feel like it was his first rodeo. but then again using a gun isnt rocket science persay if in an emergency situation. not to say theyd be mega skilled in those situations and would understand good gun safety. just guns are still pretty easy to use, so idk how much to assume of Lev's skills.

QUESTION 2. One of the main characters of the comic, Lev, is a very mysterious person. He doesn’t speak much, and nobody seems to know his background story that well. What do you think happened in Lev’s life that made him the person he is? Why do you think Lev lives on the streets? Why would he not speak to anybody for so many years? What inspires his loyalty towards Ricky that he’d go to such extreme lengths to help him?

And for question 1: my favorite scene has got to be the rescue scenes, mostly as they are poorly constructed and entirely chaotic - which perfectly fits a band of misfits trying to do things they have never done. It takes away from the cliche of heroes always suceed/are lucky/seem to know what they are doing despite doing it a first time and I really liked that

As to Lev... darned if I know. I feel like he's got that kind of military vibe (maybe it's a PTSD thing I'm sensing, yeah), and a desire to help people who look a certain way (David) or who are good to him (Ricky). Maybe he'll spill to the person he's sitting with on the bench.

And to address on an earlier point: guns can be harder to use correctly than you'd think. He'd have to have known how to turn off safety on all those weapons, how to put ammo in them, how to reliably aim, some of those weapons depending on make and model you need to KNOW. (Look up the wrist breaker lmao). So I'd say at least an occupation around them, yes.

No, someone brought him in... I think we saw them in the background as Lev was sneaking out. I guess I assumed he did have some sort of ID. He grabbed his clothes while escaping.

But yeah, three months later and no one's followed up on that.

Goes a bit to the theme of homeless people being treated as "invisible".

Well, when Lev, David and Ricky were doing their singing, people had camera phones. I figured the association came from that.

oh yeah thats def how he became a suspect. its a mystery how they put a name to a face tho. he could have a record. but its also not like being homeless makes you disappear out of the systems. systems will still show you exist if you know the name or number.

Also, not sure if it's a tiny plot hole, but after making a whole deal to David about not sitting in someone else's reserved spot... they go and play somewhere that's off limits. Without kind of giving him the heads up about the running.

Maybe Lev is a version of David back from the future. (Just because we haven't had any theories that are real crazy yet.)

QUESTION 3. In the beginning Ricky, Lev, and the other hobos meet David, a young boy who finds himself homeless. David claims this is due to the fact he got kicked out of his house. However, it is later revealed through his missing posters that David most likely ran away. Why do you think David would choose living on the streets over living with his family? Do you think David will be able to learn to live on the streets or will he find himself in deep trouble down the line?

Actually, that would be a bit of a twist, if David WAS actually kidnapped now. After trying to do it alone. Maybe someone sent a ransom note and everything. (Unsigned, so people think it was Lev.)

One hand I want to say maybe abuse? On the other I think it probably was more likely a fight with his parents. He seemed nearing adulthood, he might have wanted to run off to a more bohemian (sp?) lifestyle they didn't approve of and he dipped.

The art evolution is really interesting. Looking back at the beginning the art was a lot gritier. The new art feels softer and more optomistic somehow.

QUESTION 4. The comic deals with a lot of themes and issues in regards to survival, redemption, and homelessness. Was there anything that struck you as particularly poignant in regards to this? What do you think about the hobos extreme lengths to survive? Do you think any of them will manage to get off the streets or do they seemed doomed to it? Will they find redemption from their pasts?

maybe they go to david's house to explain lev didnt kidnap david. and then things escalate and suddenly lev is holding them hostage

There was Lev's collapse, and waking up in the hospital. That was actually an interesting one, because on the one hand, he wasn't left to die in the street, someone helped him... but then Lev didn't even seem to have wanted the help. Like, not wanting to accept charity, even at the expense of his life.

to be fair tho, i wouldve been none too pleased in his situation. greatful for being alive, sure. but mad i could potentially get situated with an enormous hospital bill

cause even if they have a better healthcare system there, when youre homeless you dont exactly have any money to give in the first place

Yeah... I guess I'm kind of spoiled, what with having work benefits and the Ontario Health Insurance Plan, I don't think about costs. Unless I'm reading about the US.

It's nice that the homeless guys get together, and even have a system like what Lev used to recruit for Ricky. Solidarity and all. They can redeem each other, in a way.

maybe. idk about redeeming cause in the same vein they could enable each other to remain in their unredeemed states through encouraging vegetative behaviors

that would be my fave secondary character too just for the surprise my eyepatch is fake thing. i really enjoyed the moment in general cause everything was otherwise so serious, so it was good to have something a smidgen light-hearted

4: They show Lev's friend is making steps to get clean and hopefully get off the streets. Out of those two he'd def be one to get out. But it's also more complicated than that because if France's homeless situation is any like ours it's not as simple as 'work hard' to get out. Sometimes without the right guidance, resource, will to be helped, or even with all of this you just can't get out. It's a mixed bag, really. Example if this were situated in america Lev, if he was indeed military, would probably be a Vet by the sounds of it and the homeless Vets in our nation is absolutely horrific due to the sheer amount of how the system is out to screw our soldiers.

yeah i dont think their redemption is solely in their hands for sure. cause even if theyre willing, society is against them from the start. granted i think them being willing is also a big factor too. cause a lot of them do feel like they gave up at this point, which 100% ensures theyll probably not get out. its a sad situation
