Jayce Talis is one of the characters of all time. He survived a blizzard as a kid. He speedran from disgraced scientist to Poster Kid of Progress. He collects crystals and sets them by his window to charge them ig. He is buff but not because of gym. His stress relief method is Danger Fire Crossfit. He is two meters tall and his heart is even bigger. He drinks his Respect Women juice. He invented a giant hammer and still nobody makes a joke about his dick being small. He does not know how to use the hammer as a weapon. He loses every single fight he fights unless the opponent is a literal child. He drinks tea. He's in love with his best friend and lab partner, a certified radioactive axolotl enthusiast. He went from everyone's least favourite character to Sex Appeal God with just a beard, a black shirt, and trauma. He saved the world by hugging a metal skeletor. He went "I can fix him with the Power of Love" and it actually worked.

Parents always say this:

Like any abusive authority figure, they want you to be smart enough to uphold their authority but not smart enough to challenge their authority.

"We deserve a soft epilogue, my love..."

Been thinking a lot about Jayvik this week. Had a rough few months, felt nice to be self indulgent with this. Poses based on a shot from "We Live In Time".

Throughout season 1, Viktor's journey was one of isolation. He was an isolated child, an outsider in Piltover, met Jayce but then grew apart from him throughout acts 2 and 3. As the Machine Herald, however, he's connected to everyone.

"I'm alone no longer..." he says in the Council Chamber...

"I now speak with all their voices." And I think the camera move is really interesting, the way it spins around him, it's like it *should be* a reveal, you would expect the camera to whip around and show all the voices Viktor is speaking with. But instead, all it reveals is that he is alone. It's a false connection, but he believes in it.

At the Hexgates in the finale, Viktor tells Jayce about what he thinks he's doing. He tells him that he's setting them on a path where "we can be of one mind. United."

Later, when Viktor brings Jayce into the cosmic realm...

"This is what you see?" Jayce says. He's been fighting VIktor since he got back, but now it all makes sense. All these souls, together, and connected. And it's beautiful.

In the end, though, Viktor is absolutely shattered by what his older-self says. And why? On the surface, it's a calm scene. a beautiful scene even...

But dreamless solitude... Old-Viktor isn't just admitting he was wrong, he's saying he created a hell for himself. He condemns himself to loneliness. And it destroys him...

I also want to take an aside, to talk about the other part of what Old-Viktor says...

This ties into something Machine-Herald-Viktor said earlier, and contrasts with it, that he thought he was heading down the path of "an unbroken saga of progress..." He didn't realize where he would end up was "an end to pursuit." And what is an end of progress, and end of evolution, if not death? Viktor had condemned not just the world, but himself to a waking death. But that's a tangent from the theme of isolation vs. connection I'm focusing on here.

When Viktor comes back to himself now, he sees all the "evolved" souls differently. This wasn't connection that persisted until he was old, it was a false, forced connection. He is actually alone.

Except that he's not alone. It's Jayce's love for him, that real connection, that loves him despite everything, that he didn't have to be a saviour or a herald to deserve, that saves him.

Does it bother anyone else that a lot of people glorify or are just really fixated on Viktor's waist?

I think it's probably just that I had an ED and was very sick for a long time and so I'm extra sensitive but it just. Feels like it's glorifying something that's not healthy for him. He's that thin because he's disabled and sick and underfed.

And I'm all for disabled bodies being celebrated, but the fixation on Viktor's waist feels more like loving that he's thin and skinny, not loving his body in all it's aspects, including how he's sickly thin

The Pearl Clan witnesses Ingo mourning the memories he just can't seem to recall. The Diamond Clan witnesses Emmet concealing the past that he fears would alienate him. Both groups are aware that something is suspicious, but don't know how to approach it when considering all of the other strange things currently occurring within Hisui and the interests of their individual clans.

Akari forms separate bonds with both brothers as she investigates who they are and what they mean to each other, but will it be too late to bring them back together after months of secrecy and poor communication?
