Dude, I'm reading you rb mafia au take...and let me tell you that I'm loving it. The family dynamics is just so damn funny (well, at least the boulgram part. Those two as pinky and brain? Hilarious, and it really suits them; platonic boulgram? Yes pls)
As for the rest, not gonna lie: I'm a bit sad about having to see Wave go (and no kadewave)...but that's something I'm willing to pay if that means we will get more of this au, do they even get along? Or just a business relationship?. Daniblades? Pls give us more, cause they lack severe representation in the fandom...and as for chch, I know the oneshot you are talking about, and its so damn good. Chase is a subby simp and everyone knows it.
If it's not that much of a spoiler, do they (Dani and Charlie) actually end up falling for their partners, as in truly in love? Even if everything is twisted and fucked up cause we are talking about a mafia, almost sg, au?
Also...why do I have the feeling that little sunshine ray Cody will devolve into a little devil? Cause he's daddy's little sunshine boy, and he took after him, even if he won't admit it.
Anyway, love the au and can't wait to read more. Wish you the best dude 😊 😉
Dani and Blades is a spoiler, but I think you might like the ending of their story. I dropped a hint (more like a neon sign) in the post I just made.
Unfortunately, Kade and Heatwave will have to hate each other here. (But I do have some short ideas for the two of them)
The cops deserve each other. I am just going to leave it at that. Yeah, they ain't gonna be healthy together, but happy? Sureeeeeeeeeeeeee. Maybe. Depends if Chase gets smart or not.
Cody will still be sunshine, but a chaotic good/ distract Optimus figure. (If I end up introducing rescue boy, shit's gonna hit the fan fast)
That is going for everything. Once I kill off the first character (a minor one, but boy o boy will things escalate), there will be no stopping the incoming shitstorm.
And it looks like it might be a hurricane.
#please give me ideas#i have only like four plot points set up so far#who should i kill first among the minor characters#not villains#i am saving those#mafia au#maccadam#transformers rescue bots#rescue bots

Anti's, Twitter Freaks, and Tumblr crazies seem to have this weird itch where they believe any women under 5'6" is "a literal child". And this shit has annoyed me for forever now. What's more this conversation always comes up in regards to Loli in anime and tall men with short women IRL. So here's a poll. And then more context.
Long story short, or rather as short as I can get it. I'm getting sick and tired of the idea that age somehow doesn't matter but, physical appearance of age does somehow matter instead. Especially when it comes with the context of anime. And even then more so I get frustrated at the fact that I have to talk with anyone about what is appropriate and not appropriate IRL.
The fact of the matter is and will remain that just because a girl looks like an adult does not in any way imply that it is okay to sleep with her unless you are also underage. (And I only make that caveat, because I know I can't stop young people from screwing around with one another.) But, when I see people whining about anime specifically I often end up with people who are fans of Ryoko from Kill La Kill or Kitagawa from My Dress Up Darling. Both of whom are minors. And if you like that, then you do you. Because I understand that with anime as an aesthetic they do have a tendency to look older or younger depending on how the people writing the story wanted them to come out.
However, a lot of people have a frustrating little quirk where if it looks like a character is too short, to flat chested, or has no back-end or thighs to speak of, they assess that that character is supposed to either be or look like a child (Ignoring they treat REAL women like this). Which also ignores this fun issue:
Because let's talk age of consent shall we. Sure, it's not universal across every country but it's pretty close among first world ones. But people make a big deal of characters that short with no bust, seek out people that like that character, and will literally treat that person as if they've harmed kids IRL. Yet are seemingly NEVER angry over the abuse of real kids. What's more they will claim something is pedophilia online, THEN SHARE IT saying something like "OMFG LOOK AT THIS EPSTEIN TIER ABUSER!", and I'm sitting here like, "I don't care how old you are if you're an adult you need to be punched in the throat and if your a minor, you and your parents need to be punches in the throat". (My reasoning here is simple. If you think something is CP why would you then share it to more people rather than just report it)
Epstein abused and trafficked MANY young girls and possibly young boys to a lesser extent. A person that likes this goblin?
Isn't even close to Epstein. Because:
This is a drawing
This drawing is humanoid but doesn't look like an actual human
This character is probably older than you are
This character is a dragon
This character is FICTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My point for asking ladies heights is because I'm really sick of people more or less going, "as long as you look old enough it's fine" while not realizing they literally just made the argument that age is just a number and so long as you look of age you should be allowed to be sexually abused.

how Yan! harbingers would react to you cheating (separate)
Gn! Reader
A/N: i regret to inform you but there’s no Pulcinella, Pierro, Arlecchino or Sandrone :[ i’m sorry i just don’t know their charas well enough yet/i don’t feel qualified to guess (i haven’t finished fontaine archon quest yet :0) also im sorry scara's is so long... hes my fav :]
Warnings: dark content ahead, if you aren’t comfortable with dark themes please don’t read!! delusions, infantilisation, minor character death, torture, THINLY veiled threats, explicit violence, obsessive behaviour, murder, vaguely implied non-con, financial manipulation
Capitano:
Throughout all the harbingers Il Capitano was the sole member who adhered to a strict code of honour. Despite his obsession with you he had always tried to treat you with chivalry and honour - even if his heart desperately lusted for him to steal you away for himself. It was well known among his fellow harbingers just how deeply Capitano idolises his beloved spouse, seeing you as his own personal beacon of light.
Naturally when the news reaches his ears he refuses to believe such vile insults being levied against you. Instead he has the rumour monger brought towards him so that he may personally administer a punishment for daring to speak against his beloved.
Capitano refuses to believe you would betray him in such a matter unless you decide to tell him yourself or he catches you in the act. He would need a moment to collect himself, his mind racing with thousands of different explanations and reasons. He had never once raised a hand towards you, he brought you gifts from his travels around Teyvat, he never allowed anyone to speak against you and yet you still betrayed him… Then he realises - clearly your supposed ‘lover’ has led you astray. That’s the only logical explanation. That filthy low life had whispered honeyed lies in your ear and in your naivety you had believed them. That wretch has sullied your honour and as your spouse it's his solemn duty to shield you from such vile brutes.
When someone as sweet and virtuous as you exists within such a tainted land it’s only natural that greedy grasping hands will try to stray you away from Il Capitano’s benevolent gaze. It’s not your fault. You clearly didn’t know better. He should have held you much closer to his chest. This was all his own fault.
Alas he cannot turn back time but he can ensure justice is fulfilled. He won't allow the miscreant that sullied his beloved’s honour to parade about without any consequences, so he does as any respectable man would and challenges your new lover to a duel for your honour.
When the first harbinger challenges a man to a duel it’s commonly regarded to be a death sentence and this is no different. Capitano truly tells himself that he is doing this entirely for your own good but the rage in the way his claymore swings down on your beloved’s head tells an entirely different story. Capitano had killed the man with the first swing of his claymore yet the blows kept raining down upon their body until all that remained was a pulverised mass of flesh. Capitano hadn’t killed them, he had butchered them. It’s clear this duel was not as selfless as he would lead you to believe. Despite his vehement denial, this was not for your honour but rather for his own twisted vengeance.
Tears stream softly down your cheeks as you watch Capitano slaughter your lover but once the fight is over he rushes over to you. His hands cup your face as he shushes you gently, cradling you softly as he tucks your head into his chest. Because of his penchant for darker clothing you couldn’t see your lover’s blood staining him but as your face was buried against Capitano’s chest you could feel the crimson ichor staining your face as you inhaled the coppery scent.
Childe:
Tartaglia relished in challenges, exhilarated by new chances to prove his strength and test his power yet somehow this new obstacle was not as enjoyable as he might have predicted - perhaps because he now realised he was losing. All those dreams of marrying you, raising children with you, growing old together felt like mere delusions when he realised that your heart now lies with another.
Tartaglia is commonly regarded as one of the more level headed harbingers, sure he had an inhumane amount of strength and the combat prowess to match yet that was a given to climb as high in the Fatui as he had. In spite of his usual friendly demeanour Tartaglia felt a bitter emotion brewing in his heart.
Upon learning of your infidelity the eleventh harbinger can’t help but laugh. He truly believed everything had been going so well between you two - I mean sure sometimes he got a little possessive and maybe his feelings for you were so intense he felt like they were going to burst out of his chest, splitting him clean open - but he was human! He had flaws too! He just couldn’t understand what this other guy possibly had. Well it’s not like he’ll need to either.
Tartaglia sets down his bow, instead settling on a blade. He wouldn’t use half his strength to murder the rival for your affections, besides he wanted this fight to be close and personal. He wanted them to see him coming.
He marches straight for your lover, challenging them for your hand in a public setting so they can’t help but feel honorbound to accept. He makes an entire spectacle out of the duel and he ensures you’re there too so you can see just how utterly pathetic and out-classed your supposed lover is, so you can realise he is clearly the better choice. Ultimately your lover stands little chance against the mighty harbinger, struck down with unmatched brutality, the glint in Tartaglia’s eye showing just how much he’s enjoying massacring his rival.
He looks confused when he looks aside from the bloodied corpse left behind to see you struggling against the two Fatui agents restraining you to keep you from interfering with their master’s duel. “Why are you upset? You were clearly conflicted between us but now your pretty little head doesn’t have to worry about it! You couldn’t decide so I decided for you.” he says before leaning in closer, his hot breath tickling your ear as he whispers “and if you ever feel conflicted again, come straight to me and I'll be sure to decide for you again.”
Columbina:
You had always felt… unnerved by Columbina. She was always so delicate with you, caressing your hair sweetly, holding you tenderly, brushing soft kisses against your lips and cheeks and yet - something about her felt off, unnatural even. There was something about her that was not entirely human and perhaps that’s what led you to seek comfort in the arms of another.
When you decided to tell her of this you had expected the saccharine facade to melt, to be met with the monstrosity you feared was hiding behind her angelic demeanour. Instead she simply smiled gently, almost knowingly. Her grin never once falters when she arises from her spot on the floor, patting your head as she skips out the door of the room. You stand in the foyer utterly perplexed by her behaviour but terrified she might inflict her wrath upon you if you lingered. You ran back upstairs to your own chambers, your head buried beneath the blankets as you tried to steady your breathing. You stayed there until the sun began to rise, having half expected Columbina to creep into your bedroom in the night and inflict some bloody vengeance on you. Instead the morning came without incident.
You crept down to the dining room where breakfast was being laid out by the maids. It was utterly silent and Columbina still hadn’t arrived with the only noise being the gentle clattering of porcelain and your own breathing as the table was set. There sat the morning paper in your usual spot, you didn’t feel inclined to read, far too on edge about Columbina’s surprisingly docile reaction to your infidelity. You were about to move the paper aside entirely until your eyes brushed across the headline
“12 FOUND DEAD LAST NIGHT: AUTHORITIES PERPLEXED”
You all but collapsed into your chair as you opened the paper. Vomit bubbling up your throat as you continue reading. 12 people of similar physical appearances were found slaughtered in their homes with no signs of breaking and entering, no witnesses and no sign of a struggle. It's likely the victims hadn’t even known their assailant was in the room until they were already dead. A terrifying tale no doubt but what truly unnerved you was the very clear resemblance the victims held to you. From skin colour, to hair colour, to eye colour, height and weight, you and the victims were near identical with only minimal differences. You couldn’t breathe. Your heart was hammering so violently you swore you could feel it against your very ribcage. They didn't even know their attacker had entered the room until they were already dead… how did you know that she hadn’t crept into your room last night, standing there, deciding whether she would do it or not…
Hot tears welled in your eyes as you heard the soft patter of bare feet wander into the dining room. She sat down in the seat directly across from you, still beaming at you. This smile was different however, her grin was tight against her face and very clearly forced, far too big to look natural on the woman. This smile was not a smile, it was a warning.
Il Dottore:
Quite possibly the worst outcome for both you and your lover. Il dottore is not a man to be trifled with, even his fellow harbingers could acknowledge that. You don't even need to tell him about your affair, he already knew. He could tell from the way you shied away from his touch, how easily startled you were nowadays, how your pupils dilated and breath quickened when you stared at your new beau.
However Il Dottore is an eternally proud man, his genius and academic revelations had single handedly transformed Snezhnaya into the Military power house of Teyvat. By turning to another for love and affection you had inadvertently snubbed the second harbinger and by your new lover daring to set their sights on something that so clearly belonged to Il Dottore… he wouldn’t accept it.
Dottore’s cruelty was almost as revered as his genius. To think someone had tried to steal away the affections of the one person he found worthy enough to love. Your lover will suffer a fate worse than death, that much is certain. Dottore is never against fresh meat to experiment on, perhaps he’ll see how many parts the human body can lose before dying, or maybe he’ll discover just how much skin he can flay off a man until he eventually dies. Don’t worry Dottore has always strove for perfection in all matters, particularly academic endeavours. He will find a way to keep your lover alive through his experiments for as long as humanly possible if only to ensure his results are accurate.
Now the moment he hears of your affair his mind is rife with ideas for your lover yet don't worry, he has plenty of ideas left for you too. From here on out you will never be without one of his segments watching over you. He will have constant eyes on you. You will never know a moment of freedom from Il Dottore but please don't fret my love, in his cold, twisted heart he does have a soft spot even if you refuse to believe it, so go ahead and dry your tears and be his agreeable little darling again or else he may leave you in the care of some of his other segments who are much less knowledgeable on how to love, on how to be tender with their darling and are far more inclined to simply take what they want rather than ask nicely.
If you still haven’t begun to return to doting upon him, or worse you take another lover… lets just say some of the younger segments have several questions about human biology that even the ingenious Il Dottore would struggle to answer without an example. So shape up or you might wake up strapped to his operating table so his segments can get a good look at how the interior of the human body functions and well… while he’s already gone to the trouble of cutting you open, wouldn't it be a shame if his name just so happened to be carved onto your heart. Don't worry! for that procedure, he'll give you some anaesthesia. After all, he doesn't want your squirming to make him hit anything important.
La Signora:
La Signora has lost and loved before she met you. After her husband's death she encased herself within an icy shell but whether intentionally or not you warmed her bleak broken heart and returned her fire and passion for life. With you she was Rosalyne not the crimson witch and for that she treasured and adored you above all else.
Rosalyne was all too familiar with the sting of losing a loved one but she had never had her lover willingly stray from her side. To know you would leave her after all she did for you? That you would betray her after she protected you time and time again, sheltered you from the cruel realities of this world and let you live in the lap of luxury… it was clear she had spoiled you far too much.
First she would start with the wretch who dared compete with her for your affections. She plucks his heart out as she did to that pathetic Anemo archon before charring it before his very eyes. Let his last sight be his own scorched heart falling from her hands and into the dust, where filth like him deserved to stay. To think he even thought he could compare with the illustrious 8th harbinger for your love… the wretched fool deserved far worse than what she gave him. Now that she thought of the man again, she could feel the crimson flame in her chest rising as she turned back to the man's twitching corpse. They’d be lucky if even ashes remained once she was done venting her rage on what was left of the man.
As for the matter of punishing her beloved… La Signora had always been a firm woman but for the sake of you and your happiness she had given you certain allowances and privileges such as walks in the garden, visiting Snezhnayan boutiques with her, having your favourite treats imported. That stops now. In her 500 years of life her ire had never once been turned towards you but now, with such a blatant betrayal… even her patience can run out. Perhaps a more permanent reminder of your status as hers is needed. How about we start with searing her name into your flesh with her flame?
Pantalone:
Having grown up in absolute poverty, Pantalone had fought tooth and nail for everything he had, crawling from the slums of Liyue to the very apex of the Tsaritsa’s court was no small feat. The thing is when growing up in poverty one quickly learns to cling onto what they value so it was no surprise that upon falling in love for the first time Pantalone was quick to assert himself into every aspect of your life. He wouldn’t be able to rest easily unless he knew for absolute certain that you were firmly grasped within the palm of his hand.
You were his most prized possession. So when he got news that someone else had spirited away your affections he was filled with the same raw, red hatred he had felt as a boy. The feeling of seeing another have what you rightfully deserve. Since he was a boy he had vowed that whenever someone took something from him he would reap the value of it tenfold. Upon learning of your infidelity you are immediately confined to his estate, all exits heavily guarded by Fatui agents. He encages you within his elaborate mansion not even allowing you to wander into the illustrious gardens. Each door is bolted and every curtain drawn tight as Pantalone refuses to allow the outside world to gain even a passing glance of his darling. The people outside clearly don't understand how to stay away from what is not theirs.
Don’t fear precious one, he doesn’t hold this against you… you’ve always been so weak willed, so vulnerable. It’s no surprise that sooner or later some brute would come and take advantage of your delicate demeanour. It’s really his own failing as a husband but don’t worry, you don’t climb as high as he has without learning from your mistakes and he will make certain that there will never be a repeat of this little incident. From here on out you will be kept firmly in his grasp. No one will see or speak to you without his explicit permission.
If you thought his gift giving was rather excessive before, now it's become suffocating. You're drowning in trinkets and presents. Everyday you're presented with rare delicacies, decorated with precious gems from head to toe and dressed in the finest silk garments imported all across Teyvat with his particular preferences in mind. He will do whatever it takes to keep you with him even if he has to clasp your hands in solid gold shackles to keep you close or weigh your pockets down with rubies and sapphires to keep his little treasure from flying away.
Oh don't worry he hasn't forgotten about that pesky little ‘lover’ of yours. Within an hour of learning of your infidelity Pantalone has the man’s full name, medical records, ancestry and blood type sitting in his hands. You’d be surprised at how eager people are to get in the good graces of the head of the Northland bank and the ninth harbinger. Your affair partner has been blacklisted from almost any job and anywhere that does hire him is immediately bought out or its owner suddenly has Fatui knocking on their door demanding exorbitant amounts of money in “debts” to the Northland bank. Your lover will be financially ruined, any family or friends who try to reach out and support him will similarly be suddenly met with financial ruin. Only once Pantalone has stripped every part of joy from your lover’s life and isolated them from all they love will he be finally satisfied to send them off to Dottore as a little present, after all the Doctor is always enthused by new test subjects.
Scaramouche:
Scaramouche is a naturally covetous man, even in normal circumstances he is undoubtedly the most possessive of the Harbingers. Everyone he has ever treasured has slipped through his fingers, now that he once again feels love he refuses to allow it slide through his grasp again.
Scaramouche would already keep you primarily confined to his estate with only very rare outings. On the occasions he is summoned to the tsaritsa’s side he makes sure to have several handmaidens and guards watching over you and If he must travel from his residence in Snezhnaya he will take you with him for fear of you falling ill or fleeing while he is away but even then you’re confined either to your carriage or the bedroom where Scaramouche is staying.
Despite his confident and cruel demeanour Scaramouche is a deeply insecure man who truly believes himself to be unworthy of your love however he cannot help himself from craving your sweet affections and doting all for himself. He dresses you in identical colours as himself, he hand paints his signature red eyeliner under your eyes every day, he ensures you smell of his favourite things and that you are dressed in traditional Inazuman fashions.
If you somehow managed to cheat on him Scaramouche would go utterly ballistic. You thought you had seen the sixth harbinger angry but the outburst you had seen couldn’t even compare to the tempest he would unleash upon you or any other person who dared to seek your affections. His estate would be a mess, shattered vases, broken chairs, torn clothing thrown about the rooms. Nothing survived his enraged outburst as curses and insults were thrown towards the man who dared steal away his beloved’s affection and adoration.
Scaramouche was restrictive before but now its unbearable. When he returns home after hearing the news he finds you waiting by the door for him, bowing politely as he had commanded you but instead of greeting you with a kiss or throwing off his elaborate hat he instead practically leaps towards you, his hand enclosing around your throat bringing your face to his as he hisses out
“You ungrateful whore. Do you really think I don't know about you and them? Did you really think you could hide it?”
He watches for a moment as your eyes widen as you realise what he's insinuating: he knows about your infidelity. Your eyes instantly flood with hot tears as you realise the torment that's about to be inflicted upon you. Unlike usual he takes no amusement in your distress, too overcome with the conflicting emotions bubbling inside him to even focus on how pretty you look with tears in your eyes.
His grip moves from your throat to your hair as he threads his fingers in it to grab you by the scalp before he drags you up the staircase of his estate. Too overcome with terror to be able to walk properly instead you allow him to drag you along by the hair as your trembling legs attempt to hobble after him.
Upon reaching your chambers he throws you down on the ground. You try not to take notice of the clump of your hair entwined in his fingers. Instead of punishing you however he instead turns back around, not even sparing you a glance as he storms out of the room, slamming the doors shut behind him. You lay splayed on the floor as he left you cradling your aching scalp as you wait for him to return with some device manufactured to inflict as much pain as possible.
Scaramouche does not return for many hours. It isn’t until the moon is high in the sky that the bedroom door opens and you see the balladeer return. The room fills with the coppery scent of blood, you’re certain if you had a lamp on you would see Scaramouche painted crimson. After several seconds of simply staring at your form the balladeer finally approaches you. Your whole body tenses as he bends down to lay himself on top of you, his head burrowed in your neck… was he about to rip your throat out with his very teeth? He could probably feel how hard your pulse was hammering under his cheek.
You waited for pain but it never came. Instead you felt the harbinger begin to softly shake, gentle sniffles being buried in your neck as his whole body curled in closer to yours. Your neck grows damp as Scaramouche tightens one arm around your waist and the other behind your head as he straddles your lying form. He uses his arm positions to pull you even closer to himself, his grip is verging on pain as he pushes your bodies together like he’s attempting to merge you together, to ensure you could never stray from his side. You half think you’ve imagined it when you hear the harbinger whisper in a hoarse tone
“Why can't you just love me?”
Maybe it was a sense of pity or you simply wanted him to calm down and get off you but regardless you wrapped your arms around him, cradling him softly. The harbinger’s cries ceased for a moment and you thought perhaps you had somehow managed to ignite his rage again but instead his shoulders began to shake violently as the intensity of his sobs picked up, wails coming out of him like a wounded animal as he clutched you close to him.
Only as the sun began to rise did Scaramouche manage to clamber out of your embrace, staggering out of the room. You stayed on the ground for another hour, trying to ignore the tacky, dried blood encrusted on your kimono. You changed your kimono before going downstairs for breakfast, hoping to gain an understanding of Scaramouche's mood, however as you went to push the doors open they wouldn’t budge an inch. He had locked the door tight behind him.

i want to expand on what Ayesha might mean when she says being queer and Muslim is complicated as a queer Muslim myself bc I’ve seen some people not quite hit the nail on the head.
first is that it is not a universal opinion among Muslims that having a gay romantic or sexual partnership is a sin. that depends on how you interpret the story of Lut alayhi salam, which most schools of thought have extrapolated to be about gay relationships. It might be the mainstream view, but that does not give it religious or scholarly credibility per se. the Quran itself says nothing negative about queerness.
second is that Islam is not unique in being manipulated and twisted as an excuse for homophobia. that has happened in so many cultures and religions and societies. nothing specific about the Quran actually says that being gay is a sin/gay people should be killed etc (just to be clear the people who say that are making it up to validate their homophobic violence. you know how that goes)
really, Ayesha hits the nail on the head when she talks about social relationships. when you’re a minority, if the sheikh or imam or the community is homophobic you can’t just pick up and go somewhere else. this is your community, and you experience so many beautiful things with them. we pray shoulder to shoulder. you aren’t supposed to ignore or shun people. in Islam we have many obligations that are fulfilled through community (giving charity, walking to the masjid, praying in congregation, celebrating eid). this is who you celebrate with, who you mourn with, who you go to for guidance and advice.
the other complicating factor is that many Muslim women observe hijab (wearing a headscarf, physical separation of men and women) in part to create a space where they can exist without being sexualized or even talking about sexuality at all. the expectation is that when you make wudhu, change clothes, etc in front of other women that they aren’t sexualizing you. but if you are attracted to women, even when you lower your gaze and don’t notice their appearances, it feels like an invasion of their privacy. being a lesbian Muslim involves a degree of questioning where you fit into your community, what spaces are and aren’t for you.
the last thing and something i think Ayesha portrayed so well is that when you love your religion, when you love your community, rejection from your community hurts more. especially when they think they’re being kind. heteronormativity becomes rejection. hesitancy around queerness becomes rejection.
the fact that the question would even be asked, how is it to be queer and Muslim, is basically like saying hey, I’m curious about which ways you’ve been rejected by your community or how they fail to meet your needs. please justify your continued relationship with them and your religion so i can judge you and them. and how is that a fun experience for a queer person? underneath all the jokes we like to make, rejection does hurt. even when it comes from people who are kind and loving and just biased or misunderstanding.
this isn’t a character analysis of Ayesha particularly (but I definitely want to do one)! i just wanted to put this out here for anyone not Muslim who was wondering what was up with those scenes

To Whisper Your Name pt.1
Konig x Reader Roman Goddess AU
Warnings: Violence ( minor character deaths), Roman deity inaccuracies, history inaccuracies, talks of SA
Reader is loosely based on the Roman Goddess Felicitas (Goddess of good fortune and luck)
It is not rare for minor gods/ goddesses to go unthought of. Some rise to fame as others are forgotten. Not many remember the deities of flowers, trees, or other smaller things. They remember Jupiter, Neptune, Venus. The greats, the Gods. Smaller gods go about their lives enjoying the few who do remember them. The small alters the mortals create for them, adorned with what is associated with said deity. They get offerings, praise, songs sung in their name.
Others are forgotten. Some deities share common rulings and the more famous deity gets the praise. They get the offerings, the songs, the alters. They get the memories. The smaller deity is left to watch humanity progress, knowing they are nothing to them but a passing face. Some grow depressed, heartbroken to be forgotten. Some grow mad, killing those who pray to the more famous deity. Most are unhappy or indifferent. They are too out of touch with humanity, differences between God and mortals being too many to connect with one another.
Despite all, you connect. The goddess of good fortune and luck, or as I should say, the small goddess of good fortune and luck. Throughout time, as you were forgotten and Fortuna rose to fame, you assimilated with the mortals. The fascination overtaking the grief pushed you to live among them. You aren’t well known among your village, just a simple face that passes by occasionally. Your home resides along the lake, a small and hidden house, property of an old man you met years before. You became like family to him, knowing who you are, he did his research. He offered you home, community, he offered you the human experience.
It was a quiet life, predictable, quaint. You go to the fishing grounds, bless the unsuspecting fishermen. You do the same to the cloth weavers, the doctors, the children playing. None may know, but fortune is on their side. It was a simple existence, a comfortable one.
A change happened at nightfall. Taking a late night walk was common, having no need for sleep. You’d walk a few miles, stay in a tree, maybe take a swim, then head back to your home. Tonight was no different. You opted to stay in a tree in a nearby forest, taking in the night sky, constellations seeming to taunt you with an unknown reason. Memories of when you were among the other deities fill your mind, a bittersweet taste left in your mind. Shouting and the crunching of twigs below rip you from your thoughts, whimpers from women below causing the hair on your arms to stand up.
Below, you see a small group of women with their arms shackled to a long chain. There are 2 men, daggers glinting in the moonlight. There’s no torch, no lantern, to light their way. It’s clear they are trying to be unseen, to steal these women. They adorn Roman clothing, as do the women, and seem to be heading away from the village.
“Please I’m begging you, I have children! They have no father and no one to look for them” A woman begs shakily.
“Then we will be back for them. I know someone who would pay bronze for youth like them” A man cackles and shoves the woman for her noise.
“Oh Gods, Please save us, if you can hear me” A woman whispers, kissing her hands and raising them to the sky.
Her voice is so broken, as if she's unable to conjure hope. Heart aching for these women but unable to physically intervene, you bless them.
“Luck be upon you” Falls from your lips in the form of a whisper.
As they are almost gone, a branch snapping catches the men's attention. Heads whipping in the direction of the noise was their first mistake. A soldier in Roman attire sneaks behind the leading man, dagger cutting through his throat as if it were simply fat.
The other three men turn and draw their weapons, preparing for attack. Their stance resembles that of a cornered, angry cat. One other soldier emerges from the dark. His towering frame, only being able to be described as a giant, unsheathed his sword from his holster. The glare from the moonlight shining off his sword gives an eerie and unsettling feeling in an already disturbing situation.
“Give in and come willingly, or face the same fate as your foolish leader” His voice is higher pitched than expected, yet still effectively intimidating. His accent is foreign, sounding from the north.
Ignorance clearly being their strong suit, the smugglers charge at the giant, only to be met immediately with a blade. The first one falls and seconds later, the other one is ripped through, practically in half, blood spilling like a never ending prayer. The men are ripped through like a tarp, eyes widening and dulling over.
The last man remaining drops his weapon, falling to his knees like a worshiper to their God. The giant stalks towards him, gripping his hair and tilting him back. You can feel the fear radiating off of the smaller man's body, most likely praying to the gods as the women they stole did.
“Your incompetence fails you. What were you planning for them?” He demands, gesturing to the women. They cower under the man's gaze.
The man remains silent, his mouth gaping like a fish, in search of words.
“Have mercy, please!” He begs, tears seeming to form.
The giant chuckles in an unamused manner, “Were you to have mercy on them? The gods have turned their backs on you. Now I will ask you again” He grips tighter, voice low and in a low growl, “What. Were. You. Planning? Who is your superior?”
The man refuses to answer and is swiftly met with a blade, as he serves no purpose. The giant and his partner turn their attention to the women, moving to remove their shackles. The women seem more frightened of them than they did the men that stole them. Perhaps it's because these men are soldiers, making it easy for them to be overpowered.
“Where are you from?” The giant asks a woman as he removes the shackles. The woman says she was visiting her family in a nearby village when the men came. The other women say something similar.
“It seems they had a type. Easily able to make them disappear if they only have a couple connections in a different village.” The other man states, the giant nodding.
They move the women to the same town you live in, keeping them in a new location until they find the leader of whatever ring they were getting sold into. You climb down the tree and quietly follow behind. The women are escorted to a separate cluster home and the men head to what seems to be a military station building.
Before the giant walks into the building, he looks behind him out of habit and spots you already looking at him. You quickly turn and walk away, not trying to attract unwanted attention. You make it to the lake before you hear a twig snap, someone being with you. Knowing who it is, you don't even bother to turn around, staying still.
“Why did you run?” He asked in an accusatory tone, walking up to you. His frame towers over you, his shadow overtaking yours. You turn towards him, finally meeting his eyes. His face is covered in a cloth, his eyes being the only exposed area. His gaze is stern, like that of a king.
“I've never seen a soldier like you before” you lie seamlessly, appearing innocent, “When you saw me, I worried I would possibly provoke you. Some soldiers around here hate when we stare”
He looks down at you, head slightly tilting. In mock or curiosity, you can't tell. There’s a long pause of silence, neither of you moving.
“Sir?” You ask quietly, “May I go back home now? I fear it will worry my family if I am out too late”
“You will meet me in the town square tomorrow at dusk,” He states, turning to walk away, “I will find you if you fail to come. Do not make that mistake, flos”

Playing Soldier: How Sokka’s Arc is Misunderstood
Katara: Ever since Mom died, I’ve been doing all the work around camp while you’ve been off playing soldier!
There seems to be this idea among certain fans that Sokka acted as a “father” or “older brother” figure throughout the series, but this is a very shallow read that neglects Sokka’s arc and the intricacies of it.
While yes, on the surface, Sokka is literally the older brother of Katara, I think her description of his role at the beginning of the series as “playing soldier” is spot-on accurate. I also think it’s significant that this is said directly after the audience is introduced to Sokka’s misogyny, another key part of his mindset at the beginning of his arc. These things are very much related, and I don’t think this gets discussed enough. Misogyny isn’t a minor character flaw; it’s a toxic mindset that influences how a person acts.
You see, much like the fans who perceive Sokka as the authority figure of the group, Sokka himself perceives his role this way. He holds himself as the protector and leader of his tribe, despite doing hardly any of the real, tangible, day-to-day work to support the tribe in comparison to Katara. He’s the man, so in his mind, this means he holds the authority and that his ideas and tasks are inherently more important. We even see this in the opening scene—he ignores the fact that Katara has pretty much already caught a fish using her waterbending because his way is correct, he’s more important, he’s the man, then he messes up and disrupts Katara in the process. And then, promptly jumps into a sexist rant against her blaming her for ruining his moment.
Before someone jumps on my back about bashing, I’m not. I’m addressing how Sokka’s canon character was in the beginning. There cannot be growth without a suboptimal starting point. I’m addressing the fact that initially, Sokka has a misogynistic attitude which fuels his idea that he’s the leader and the most important person despite…not doing a lot.
What we do see Sokka doing is very much what I would describe as playing soldier—just like Katara accused him. He ultimately is just a kid, he has no idea how to actually lead, so he’s emulating behaviors he’s observed.
This is pretty blatant in the show. His “soldiers” and “watchtower” are a bunch of kids and a snow fort. He quite literally is playing. It seems silly at first, but we see the tragedy in this when a real threat actually arrives.
This is Sokka’s moment. His first real test. He dresses up in full regalia, prepared to fight and defend his tribe as the great protector he’s professed himself to be. And then…he gets effortlessly swatted aside by Zuko. He’s so little of a threat that Zuko doesn’t even need to firebend to defeat him.
Because, at this point, all Sokka had ever done was play soldier. He hadn’t faced a real threat, and as a result, could do absolutely nothing when one arrived. He’s fortunate that Zuko lacked the cruelty of other Fire Nation commanders like Zhao and kept his word that he cared about finding the Avatar only. If it was Zhao? Sokka and many of the villagers would have been killed.
However, despite this initial humiliation, Sokka clings to this idea that he is the “leader” and should be listened to by virtue of being the oldest…and being male.
I do like the Kyoshi Warriors arc and believe it’s significant, but “Suki beat the sexism out of Sokka, he’s all better now!” is far too simplistic. It’s not realistic at all for a deep seated attitude like that to change, and it continues coming up throughout the series.
There are many incidents of this throughout the series. For example, in B1E10: Jet, where Sokka demands that the group travel on foot because he’s the “leader”…and promptly leads them straight into a Fire Nation army camp. It’s the same theme of the very beginning—Sokka puts himself into a role he isn’t prepared for, and makes a blunder. He’s still playing soldier.
While, again, often played for laughs, this behavior is fairly consistent with Sokka. He has his moments, but more often than not, we see him trying and comically failing at his supposed role of protector and provider.
Meanwhile, as I’ve discussed in much more detail before, it is Katara who is truly carrying the group, despite Sokka generally having a dismissive attitude towards her and the work she does for others.
However, on some level, even Sokka himself recognizes that Katara is truly the one serving the parental role.
Sokka: I'm not sure I can remember what my mother looked like. It really seems like my whole life, Katara's been the one looking out for me. She's always been the one that's there. And now, when I try to remember my mom, Katara's is the only face I can picture. (B3E7: The Runaway)
This is closer to the end as well, and even though it isn’t particularly explicit, I do believe that Sokka gradually learning humility gave him a compelling arc to become the person he was at the end in comparison to the insecure misogynist in the making he began as.
It’s gradual, but I think the best representation of it is in the Sokka episode: Sokka’s Master.
Sokka: And I know one thing for sure: I have a lot to learn.
This is what ultimately convinces Piandao to accept Sokka as his student, and narratively it is significant to Sokka’s character. In order to truly grow and develop true skill, Sokka has to acknowledge that he isn’t the person he has been holding himself to be. He has to acknowledge that he isn’t his father. He has to acknowledge he’s been…playing soldier.
And that’s the beauty of Sokka’s arc, to me. Because he wasn’t a father figure, despite the fact that he was very clearly trying to emulate his father. He was forced to grow up too fast, but he wasn’t parentified like Katara. He tried and failed to assume that role and this made him insecure.
Sokka’s arc isn’t about parentification, and it’s certainly not meant to show that he actually was a father figure. No; Sokka’s arc is learning that he has his own worth because of who he is, not from trying to measure up to someone else. He finds his own unique identity and skill set in a world of magic and benders. That’s an insightful and interesting arc, and feeding into Book 1 Sokka’s delusions that he truly was a father figure looking out for everyone else really overlooks that.

covey!reader in the quarter quell (introduction)
ok so because of the amount of likes I got on the post where I shared my idea for a fanfic (thank you so much to each and every one of you), I decided to write my first ever fanfic based on it!! this is just a little introduction to your character and the story that goes with it- I promise I have more in store if you guys want it, like reader meeting everyone. I’m sorry that this isn’t very good, I’ll hopefully improve with more practice <3
summary: an introduction to covey!reader’s story and your time in the 73rd Hunger Games and her reaping into the Quarter Quell
(based on my idea from this post: click me!)
warnings: fem!reader, killing, drowning, basically just me yapping for a bunch of paragraphs!! also this is pretty short lol
Nothing could’ve prepared you for getting your name called as the female tribute of District 11.
You only had minor guidance through the stories that had been told in your district. Passed from parent to kid, and so on, what the capital had tried so hard to erase was still present among the people of the lower districts. The Covey knew more than anyone. Your grandparent had been part of the group when Lucy Gray disappeared, you knew that much. They travelled, escaping the wrath and second-hand anger of Snow after he came into power.
They landed in District 11, growing small farms with even smaller houses. The Covey wasn't what it used to be, more quiet, adapting to a life of agriculture, still humming their ways through their work. You’d do anything for them, though. They were your family. So when your name was called, you knew you’d do what you could to survive for them. They needed you- and you needed them.
The whole experience was a blur. Getting paraded around was one thing. And you were used to the attention, being a performer and all. You sang. You sang every chance you could get- that was your leading attribute and you were going to spend your last days alive doing what you loved most. Caesar just ate it up, too. Your interview infront of the capital was no interview, but a last concert from you to the crowd, a sending-off to your death.
But this wasn’t your last performance. Your voice had more songs to sing, more stories to unfold. You miraculously made it out alive- thankfully without a single kill under your belt from the experience. You hid, others killed. And when it was down to the final two, you survived the final event: a storm in the arena strong enough to wash away any sign of living within it. The other tribute (a boy from district two) was not so lucky, drowning in a moment of panic.
The non-killer image made you very popular in the capital after you stepped out of the arena. Your victory tour was filled with victory songs at each stop, spreading a message of positivity for the districts. Everyone seemed to be appeased by your performance- even Snow.
You didn’t watch the games the next year. Any mention of the games left an uncomfortable taste in your mouth and feeling you couldn’t seem to shake. This feeling only grew with the announcement of the Quarter Quell. You’d only just left the games, and now you would be led back into them?
Even with the other female winners in your district, you still felt uneasy about it. Not a single one of you should have to go through this again. You said your second goodbyes, this time with less hope of return. Everyone in the Covey cried (even the older boys who tried so hard to act tough).
The walk to the selection stage was silent- no one dared to say a word.
A piece of paper was plucked from the container
“And the female tribute from District 11 for the 75th Hunger Games is…”
It was slowly unfolded
“Y/N L/N.”
uh oh!! that’s not good!! I wonder what happens next!! seriously though thank you so much for reading through all of this, I know it’s kind of just me yapping the whole time- feel free to let me know what you think in the comments! if anyone wants a part two, let me know (I’ll also create a tag list if people want it <33)
Im planning on doing everything leading up to everyone actually entering the arena for the next part (like the training, the ability tests, the interviews), so let me know what you guys want to see!!
I’m also not really sure if I want to have the reader shipped with- I’m leading towards johanna but I’m open to suggestions <33
love ya!!

A Few Days Ago There Was A Small Discussion On Twitter About A YouTuber Who Claimed That Rayman Fans Should Be Disappointed With His CLH Version. ~
I Think It's Very Presumptuous For People To Say That Ramon In CLH Is Disrespectful To The Original When Both Characters Are Literally The Same Person Who Ended Up Going Through Different Lifes Experiences.
Let's Do A Little Character Analysis? ;)
First Of All Just Letting You Know That My Area Of Study Is In The Phenomenology Of Perception, So We'll See How The Way Ramon Perceives The World Around Him Has Shaped Who He Is.
I Also Think It's Important To Highlight That This Analysis Should Not Be Aimed At Real People, So Please Don't Derail. ಠ_ಠ
We Start With The Fact That Ramon Moved Into Dolph's Reality At A Very Young Age, He Probably Grew Up Isolated And Rejected From Society With The feeling Of Being The Only One Of His Kind And He Remained The Aloof "Weirdo" Even When Eden Arose.
He Became The Funny Charismatic Creature, A Mascot For Eden, Even With The Spotlight On Himself He Continued To Be Dehumanized By Those Around Him.
Observing His Home We Can Notice How Empty It Is, The Furniture Is Small Because Of His Height Which Makes The Apartment Seem Even Bigger, With The Exception Of The Tv, This Not Only Demonstrates The Way He Feels Among Humans [Such A Small Being In A World That Doesn't Welcome Him Very Well], But Also In The Way That "Being On Tv" Occupies A Large Part Of His Life.
And We Also Have All This Mess, This Not Only Indicates That He Doesn't Want Cleaners In His Apartment, This Also Ends Up Demonstrating His Mental State... A Complete Mess.
He Really Cares About Children, Especially Hybrid Children Because He Sees Himself In Them, He Genuinely Believed He Was An Inspiration To Them But In The End He Was Just A Puppet Being Used By Those Who Practice Everything He So Abhors.
Suffering Speciesism From Red And Being Censored When Trying To Defend Himself Was Also A Trigger For Him And That's Why He Got So Drunk That Night. Money, Fame, Eden, None Of This Prevented Him From Suffering Discrimination Again. Things Don't Get Better For Minorities, In The End.
About Substance Abuse, People Will Try To Deal With Their Traumas And Loneliness In Many Different Ways And Substance Abuse Ends Up Being One Of Them, Basically An Escape Route From His Own Mind. It's Not Pleasant To See, But It Unfortunately Happens.
Knowing That Things Are Not As He Thinks And That He Was Being A Part Of This Was Too Much For Him, He Never Wanted Something Like This After All And As If It Wasn't Enough To Be Replaced Soon After, They Were Never Interested In Who He Was On The Inside, They Just Wanted A Friendly And Face To Spread Their Lies.
Rayman Using Weapons Is Nothing New And Knowing That Ramon Doesn't Have Powers [Or Doesn't Know How To Use Them] Using Guns Ended Up Being The Safest Way For Him, Killing The Council Was Not Just An Act Of Revenge, It Was Also An Act Of Despair, Fear, Guilt And Anger.
So On One Side We Have Rayman, Who Grew Up In A Healthy Environment With Loved Ones Around Him And On The Other Side We Have Ramon, Who Has Spent His Entire Life Trying To Fit In And Begging, Begging For Mercy, Begging For A Job, Begging For Acceptance...
In The End, They End Up Being The Same, But They Have Gone Through Different Life Experiences And Different Ways Of Dealing With Life's Difficulties, In The End, The Way We Perceive The World Around Us Ends Up Shaping Who We Are.
This Turned Out To Be Simpler Than I Intended, But Thanks For Reading. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

My personal favorite lines from every DRDT character + explanations
Most of these are my favorites because they carry deeper implications about the characters or are thematically interesting. A few of them are just here because they're funny.
Fair warning that this is at least half just an excuse to talk about my subjective character interpretations and various cool shit I've noticed.
Spoilers up to CH2-11. Content warnings for DRDT-typical stuff.
J:
It's a kind of funny part of J's character how genuinely vindictive she gets over her secret despite it seemingly being minor and almost completely meaningless. To be fair, I guess spending four straight days hanging out with Arturo does that to a person.
Xander:
This is very interesting to me because a lot of the cast feel trapped by "fate" or unfortunate circumstances they're unable to escape (well, besides the killing game...). Teruko is the obvious example, but so are David, Arei (at first), Rose, Ace... It's common enough among the characters that I'd argue it as a central theme of the series, and I'm excited to see how it gets explored. This line being coupled with Xander immediately trying to kill Teruko despite the fact he doesn't want to seems like a contradiction, so I'm curious about that, too.
Veronika:
A big part of her character is just parodying Danganronpa fans (think Shirogane but less insulting) and I think this sums it up well. David was my least favorite character pre-CH2 and I break out in hives whenever I hear people saying he was better before, so I unfortunately can't deny how accurate this is :p A healthy appreciation for morally bankrupt characters is a keystone of maximum Danganronpa enjoyment!
Nico:
Everyone knows this one, but still. I like how Nico's shyness feels more like a character choice to make them seem unstable rather than non-threatening. This is accurate to reality since it's mostly shy people who send death threats on Tumblr dot com. (just kidding)
Eden:
Sums up her entire speech to Teruko in 2-3. What she says here cements her as the only person to stand in clear-cut opposition to the cynical worldviews of people like Teruko and David, which is important, since they're clearly supposed to be in the wrong but would otherwise lack a clear source of pushback. Disturbingly convincing theories about her being the CH2 killer aside, I think she's the only character more likely than David to die in CH5, since she seems to be taking on a role similar to Nanami and Momota in the mainline games.
Charles:
I'm getting a degree in computer science. Gonna start randomly dropping this one into conversations with people. (not really)
Rose:
This along with the rest of her backstory is symbolic for how corporations take the autonomy from artists and suck the soul out of their work. (Can you even call it symbolic if it's practically word for word?) All I can say about it is that it's a creative's horror story and this is exactly how I would feel if I were in her shoes.
Ace:
There's very obviously a lot more going on with Ace than what meets the eye. This line is a particularly clear example and I'm curious exactly what he's referring to when he says "this".
Whit:
This guy has problems.
Teruko:
Teruko being a doomer who thinks everyone besides her is fated to die. Should be obvious by this point, but this is actually why she's refusing to get close to people more than physical self-preservation: she doesn't want to deal with the grief of watching everyone else in the cast die one by one. Also ties in nicely with the next one:
David:
Similarly to Teruko, on the inside he's in complete fatalist despair thinking everyone (including himself) is gonna die. This is very telling of why he gives up on surviving and tries to get everyone to vote for him in 2-11.
Hu:
The motive secret she got is "You only took on your talent to distract from your incessant need to harm yourself for fun." This is a pretty morbid secret, but she doesn't think it's odd because the secret doesn't apply to her; she only thinks it's odd because it doesn't have her name on it. Interesting tie-in to her actual secret being the "hopeless child" one.
Min:
As someone who is an exceptional student but mid in every other area of life, I feel this hard. Min's entire bonus story speaks to me.
Levi:
Pretty funny, I laughed. Levi hasn't had his development yet so he's really leaving me with a shortage of things to say about him.
Arturo:
Again, can't explain why, I just think this is a very funny thing to say for some reason.
Arei:
I love the way this kind of cynicism is portrayed in DRDT. If Teruko and David are super negative and pessimistic about other people, Arei is a visceral demonstration of just how miserable and wet-cat-pathetic it is to hold views like those. As Eden says, "Not caring about others is the worst way to live." Although the aforementioned two were the only witnesses to this scene for a reason, I think the point was lost on both of them. Very sad!
Honorable mentions:
Self explanatory. Teruko really wants to be loved; she just believes any meaningful relationships she makes are figuratively and literally doomed.
Also self explanatory. Another indication that there's a lot more going on with Ace than meets the eye.
I always forget he said this so I get jumpscared by it every time I rewatch the prologue. Like whoa man, you're in America, you can't say that word here.
Anyway, thanks for reading this far. Feel free to ask me to elaborate on any of this if you want to, though be aware I might write an entire essay if prompted. See you next time! 🚬

It's Time For a Bad Batch Theory. Part 1.
This is my first theory on here, so bear with me. I don't know how to do this lmao.
Spoilers ~
Chapters:
Who Is The Assassin, Clone X?
Starting with Tech: Is he Alive?
Reasons for why Clone X could be Tech
Reasons for why Tech might not be Clone X
Full Theory: Tech Returns as Clone X
Conclusion and Thoughts
With Season 3 in mid-swing there has been a lot of talk about Tech.
More specifically: Theories about Clone X possibly being Tech (or Cody).
So, I figured I should give my thoughts on this as a Writer and avid Star Wars fan.
Who Is The Assassin, Clone X?
Well, first we need to consider who it would make the most sense for him to realistically be.
Tech
Cody
Crosshair Clone
A New Clone
An Old Clone (from Clone Wars?)
Now that I've made a list of possible subjects, let's begin.
Starting with Tech:
Is he Alive?
This is a widely debated subject among the Fandom. Some people want him to come back while others wish he would stay dead. But, we still haven't seen a body. And this is Star wars.
But, from a writing standpoint he should stay dead for the emotional impact. Otherwise, what was the point? Unless the show is ending as a tragedy where the whole squad ends up dying. (Excluding Omega.)
As much as I would like them to all get back together and live, I don't think that will happen.
If Tech is Clone X, that means he must surely have survived, was found by Hemlock, and Brainwashed. It was Hemlock who brought Tech's glasses/goggles to Hunter after all.
Which means... Hemlock must have investigated the area Tech fell. So, the possibility of him having survived exists. And Hemlock could have taken him. Or Tech did die and they're using his DNA to alter other clones (but that's a whole other conversation).
Reasons for why Clone X could be Tech
There are similarities in their armor, movements, and possibly their voice. Tech is well known as the only Clone to have a hint of a British accent. And the voice modulation overlay for Clone X is noticeably much stronger than any of the other Assassin Clones.
(Also, I must note: We've seen fakeout deaths in the past. Specifically I am referencing Echo.)
Similarities include -
Armor details
Voice (possible accent?)
Movements
Aparent knowledge of technology
Use of hand-held grenades
Weaker than an average clone, obvious by his fighting style. It seems to be more martial arts based than what a regular clone would use.
There are also a lot of mirrored things from previous seasons. Like Tech having a limp from an injury. And Clone X getting a limp from an injury as well.
Of course we can't forget the mirrored scenes of Tech and Clone X climbing out of the water. Minor things, but still notable.
Now, let's move on to the unfortunate negative parts for this theory.
Reasons for why Tech might not be Clone X
It's simply too good to be true.
Why bother killing him off in the first place if they're just going to bring him back?
We can't ignore the height difference between Tech and this Assassin Clone.
Tech is supposedly taller than the average Reg. Although, like Echo the Empire could have experimented on Tech and made his legs mechanical?
Of course, it doesn't make much sense as to why they would do that.
Another reason why it might not be Tech, is that it doesn't make sense to bring Tech back unless (in my opinion) the rest of the Batchers, including Tech, end up dead in the end.
We also have Echo as part of the squad. So, it's highly unlikely that the writers would include two characters so closely related with both having fakeout deaths. That just feels weird.
Full Theory: Tech Returns as Clone X
After Tech sacrificed himself on Eriadu, Hemlock sent troops down to look for him. He knew that Tech was an essential part of Clone Force 99, so by capturing him the Empire would have access to his modified/Enhanced DNA. (That could be useful)
Dr. Hemlock proceeds to give Hunter 'proof' of Tech's death. When in reality, he's been captured. As to not have his Squad go in search of him or suspect that he may be alive.
Now, because Tech is able to make calculations as quickly as a computer, he already knew the odds of surviving the fall were slim... But not impossible. Therefore, he took the chance to save his squad. (Maybe his backpack had a rocket booster similar to the one Rex had in the Clone Wars.)
He sustained severe injuries to his legs when his jet pack failed to fully break his fall, rendering them useless which made it easy for him to get captured. (He also has a habit of getting easily injured in the show, so this feels very in character for him.)
Once he was taken by the Empire, they replaced his legs with robotic ones similar to Echo. (which decreased his height?)
The Empire then began the process of brainwashing Tech to use him as a special operative. They also took DNA samples from him to experiment with enhancing other clones in case the brainwash didn't work.
Unfortunately however, it did work and Tech became Clone X.
In Episodes 6 and 7 we see the Assassin Clone track down the Bad Batch. When landing his ship he made his landing with a possible 'Tech Turn' which I don't believe we've seen anyone else use besides Omega.
We also saw Clone X display multiple different fighting styles. His use of a Sniper-Riffle and Knife are most notable. In the Season 2 Finale Tech displayed his aiming skill, so it's possible that he could effectively use a Sniper.
Conclusion and Thoughts
Do I think Clone X is actually Tech? No.
Am I delusional and really hope that he does end up being Tech even though it wouldn't make sense and probably be a poor decision on the writers part? Yes.
Anyways, Thank You to anyone who took the time to read through this. I'll do my best to come up with a Part 2 talking about Cody.
I'll see y'all in the next post!

Haha I also used the dickless bore. I thought that only the two main characters came back didn't know he did as well. I still don't buy him ever being into her but that's just me I do wonder if he's going to try and kill her again. I do think Li Rong is treating him too well for my liking she should at least treat hit similarly or worse than she treated ML I want to see wet paper towel non stop suffer.
on one hand, imo a SRQ who is heartless doesn't work for the story the writer is trying to share with us. On the other hand, it's totally ok to decide to be a full-time hater towards a minor character, just because it's fun. I support haters! 🎉 \o/ 🎉
One thing that I think is relevant when comparing LR's reactions: if PWX had killed her, the motive would have been as part of his mission to have his childhood love Qin Zhenzhen's son become the next emperor. (Remember, he came over to threaten her life over that right before she died and called his ex Zhenzhen lmao) THE AUDACITY. In contrast, LR is viewing her murder at SRQ's hands as part of the revenge plan for the Su family's execution.
Some passages of Li Rong's POV:
After a few moments, she whispered: “Where did the scent on you come from?”
“If I say it, you might be upset.” Pei Wenxuan’s eyes had a hint of gloating at others’ pain.
Li Rong thought for a while and frowned, “Su Rongqing?”
“Yes.”
...Li Rong said nothing. She blankly stared into the fire.
Pei Wenxuan turned the fish over and looked at her with a smile, seemingly quite happy. Li Rong found that he had a fearless, unabashed look of enjoying a good play and couldn’t help but be a little fazed.
She believed everything Pei Wenxuan said.
---
Su Rongqing was someone that she saved with her own hands.
That year, Prince Su rebelled, and Su Rongqing’s elder brother spoke up for Prince Su. Later on, he was falsely accused of colluding with Prince Su, implicating the Su clan with treason.
At that time, Li Chuan was so furious that he fainted. He put the entire Su clan in prison without going through the Joint Trial of Three Divisions first and put the men to death and the women into exile. She disagreed with this decision and rushed to beg Li Chuan before the Su clan received their sentence. After being subjected to ten planks, with Pei Wenxuan’s intervention, she was finally able to ask for amnesty for the Su clan.
Even if the death sentences can be forgone, it was impossible to escape punishment while still alive. Even though the men of the Su clan could live, they would be subjected to castration. The others couldn’t bear the humiliation, so they all committed suicide in prison. When she arrived, there was only one man “desperate for life and afraid of death” left among the men of the Su clan, Su Rongqing.
At that time, she had told Su Rongqing that she saved him without the intention of asking him to repay her. She could give him silver and a position, so that he could continue to live a good life in the future.
Back then, she didn’t have any special feelings towards Su Rongqing. It was just that he had saved her before, so after he took care of her, bit by bit, she felt grateful, and…vague sentiments towards him.
For the most part, she sought to save the Su clan for Li Chuan and her own conscience. The Su clan was a prominent, noble family. It was difficult for her to sit back and watch if they died in such an ambiguous manner.
At that time, Su Rongqing refused to go.
...It wasn’t that she had never thought that Su Rongqing would not take revenge on her. After all, it was Li Chuan who ordered all the men of the Su clan to be beheaded and exiled all the female family members. It was impossible for anyone to forget this blood feud, let alone the formerly first and most outstanding gongzi of that year?
For so many years, she had never dared to give him real authority, observing him and guarding against him while still trying to help him live a better life. She couldn’t actually kill him because of her own conscience, but she couldn’t actually trust him and give him power.
In the end, he still decided to act. He killed her first, then successfully took her authority in the name of eliminating Pei Wenxuan. If she guessed correctly, he would not leave with the advisors. Instead, he would borrow the excuse of taking revenge for her and enforcing the will of the people to join forces with the Empress, assist Li Xin in ascension, and fight to the death against the remnants of Pei Wenxuan’s faction.
...
She had anticipated this possibility from the moment she took Su Rongqing in, but she couldn’t help feeling a bit regretful when it actually happened.
#honestly i think their relationship is quite interesting#and srq is a tragic character who just suffers 24x7 so no worries there#like just imagine: besides the horrible fate of his family#if he truly had always loved li rong#how cruel that would be#the only chance to be with her was this nightmare#and though they accompanied enough other and had some good memories#she could never trust him and could never return his feelings#and she SHOULDNT trust him#and now he sees no other path available than the one he is on#directly opposed to her and fighting on her enemys side#as he gets to watch her marry pwx again#and be increasingly affectionate together#and realize that this isnt young pwx who is too confused and insecure to have a functional marriage w lr#this is the mature adult who might actually make his beloved happy#and how to even feel about that#cdrama#the princess royal#my personal feelings about SRQ evolved a lot as the story progressed but tbh i still dont know#i feel sorry for him#i cannot sympathize with some of his politics but he is also so damaged that#like LR i guess i feel he must be opposed but i wish he could be saved#LR would say he has his reasons (and he has more reasons than she knows)#now the reveal that they are all from the future is clear#he does not come running to her to explain everything and defend himself#he isnt justifying himself#he actually isnt trying to make this all emotionally harder on her than it has to be#but also i DO consider him as someone who betrayed her#and i dont think he can have a place in her life anymore#(fwiw i get the salt about PWX murdering her: he blew up their marriage over ZZ + now warring w her at court over ZZ kid + kills her for it)

Hi I'm dropping by to share an opinion that might be controversial, but might just as well be common and widespread among the 'loved this show as a child, rewatched as an adult' crowd. I'm not sure. I'm always out of the loop. All of the loops.
Anyway.
Recently I'd learned that my SO never watched the X-Files, the show that was my favorite when growing up (yes, I should not have been watching it, but oh well...frankly, I had much worse sources of childhood trauma in my life) and we decided to amend the fact.
Over the course of a few months, we went through approximately 85 to 90% of the episodes. We skipped a few insignificant ones. With insects.
Some short remarks first. One: all of my favorite episodes still hold up and some go twice as hard and Clyde Bruckman goes ten times as hard. Two: Mark Snow might have been in an abusive and mutually codependent relationship with an oboe. Three: "Everything Was Inspired By The X-Files" seriously, so much media in the last two decades has just been 'a person who watched the x-files when growing up is now writing stuff' and I'm not immune ... Four: this video essay that I found after we'd gotten to 'JS's from OS' and I was like "waaaaait I minute, this is... postpomo? in 1996? released around the time Infinite Jest was published? when metamodernism still was little more than a concept in DFW's head? what the heck?" and looked it up to see if my brain was wishful-hallucinating, and found this video essay. Five: when watching the show for the first time, I only knew three names: Anderson, Duchovny, Carter. Like, 'Hello yes this a cool scary TV program with The Anderson and The Duchovny as my Mom and Dad, and all of this program in its entirety is made by The Carter'. That was it. Because only those three names were translated in the credits.
And now I'm going to ask you to please don't kill me. Please. I'm going to die, I promise, I just don't want to be killed right now because of a possibly controversial X-files opinion. This is just a personal opinion. You are free to not share it, you are free to hate me, but could we please avoid conflict and arguments? I love you. I was drugged.
Anyway x 2.
Here's the most important thing I realized now that I'd rewatched the show in English as an adult who'd loved the X-Files as a minor (and watched it dubbed), and then went on to receive a university education that very specifically gives her a shmauthority to determine if a writer is actually a crap writer...
...Chris Carter is actually a crap writer.
He's uuuhm. He's bad at writing. Wait, no, that's unfair. He is what I like to call 'painfully mediocre'. Slightly paraphrasing a quote from my other favorite American show: he's every kid on the playground that didn't get picked on. He's a business casual potted plant, a human white sale. He's VH1, Robocop 2, and Back to the Future 3. He's the center slice of a square cheese pizza. Actually, that sounds delicious. Vince Gilligan is the center slice of a square cheese pizza. He's Jim Belushi.
He's just so. painfully. mediocre as a writer. Some of his choices were BAFFLING. Not just bafflingly bad, but simply baffling in a 'how and why and why would anyone ever think this is a compelling idea' sense. Some moments made me wonder if there's zero self-awareness or negative self-awareness.
Chris Carter would hardly make you mad with how bad he is. He's seldom bad in a memorable way. He was cliche when those cliches weren't yet cliches. When the TV tropes website didn't exist. When metamodernism still was little more than a concept in one bandana-covered, troubled head.
He attempted three other shows. All of them were canceled. Two of them he had to wrap up in the X-Files, and he wrapped them up with as much poise as I wrap burritos when high. One was canceled before airing, but he put a piece of it into an X-Files episode: a minor character in the cold open watches and praises this show, so enraptured that he doesn't hear his daughter being kidnapped by a serial killer or abducted by aliens or neither or both, tbh I'm still not 100% sure what happened and what didn't happen, because that episode was written by Chris Carter. The highest rated episode out of all the episodes in all of the three canceled shows has Darin Morgan's writing credit, and it's a sequel of an X-Files episode. Where Jose Chung just goes 'you know what? this sucks' and dies.
Yes, I did enjoy The Lone Gunmen, but guess who has the most writing credit? Yes, Vince Gilligan. Perhaps, executives didn't really understand and didn't bother looking into why X-Files was such a popular and beloved show? And kept on greenlighting Carter's pet projects and then going: Wait, Where Money? Probably. That's how I imagine the reason. Thing is, the X-Files was so beloved and popular not because of Carter's obsession with Christian symbolism and conspiracies and apocalypse and ambiguity so vague and lazy and full of itself that I felt vicarious embarrassment, not because of his narcissism God complex that is manifested on screen in such a way that watching it feels exactly and very specifically like grinding your teeth while there's a bit of slightly wet sand on them, and not because people ached to learn how aliens would colonize Earth. Characters. We loved the characters. We loved the relationships in the show. And we loved the CRAZY and the over-the-top. And all of the Human, all the Silly, and the Funny, and the Tragically Funny.
Every single episode I remember loving the most, and every single episode that tops every single 'bestest X-Files episodes evah' list, has the writing credit of either Darin Morgan (Humbug, Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose, Jose Chung's From Outer Space, War of the Coprophages), or Vince Gilligan (Soft Light, Pusher, Bad Blood, Small Potatoes, Paper Hearts, Meme— you know what, this is easier), or Glen Morgan + James Wong (Squeeze, The Field Where I Died, Never Again, Musings of the Cigarette-Smoking Man). Not Carter. Although according to a WaPo article I read, Carter was insanely controlling and everything had to go through him. Duh. :-\ Not to mention, his entire writing room was a sausage fest, apparently? And Gillian Anderson finally got to write an episode only in season seven, when the show was about to be foreclosed by Fox and turned into a movie franchise (never happened, alas), and around the 'f*ck it who cares anymore we're rich and uncancellable' time when Gilligan was allowed to write the episode where Mulder solved existential nihilism via freeing a genie? Not surprised.
Meanwhile, Carter himself had written the episodes I was looking forward to the least during this rewatch. And my SO would be like: wow, you're rolling your eyes so hard I'm worried about your vision, should we maybe skip this one..? And I'd be like: no-no imma just do some chores, I really wanna do some chores, I'll be nearby, yes please keep on watching babe, no need to pause, I'll keep the bathroom door open to hear everything while I do my favorite very entertaining things like clean the toilet and scrub the shower and wash the litterbox.
Hmmm? What's that? Post-modern Prometheus is highly rated? Hoo boy :-| Can we please not go there... Also, even without all of the problematic aspects of PMP: 1) even a broken clock can do postmodernism is right twice a day, 2) no, it is not a well written episode; it's loved because of its subtly familiar nostalgic visuals and because it attempts to imitate Darin Morgan's signature style with about as much success as I had while trying to imitate Lovecraft when my English was at ~C1 level and then I started crying and went to Postmodernism and told him 'please mister postmodernism sir, please save me by making it all into a long setup to a punchline'.
Anyway x 11:21.
This whole realization made me dislike the Auteur theory even more. My relationship with it was already so hostile that we've been sending each other death threats every month since I was seventeen.
Yes, I should be fair(er). Chris Carter's primary role is NOT that of a writer, but a producer and director and *cringes* shOwRuNnEr. He was the one who pitched the show to Fox, was rejected, and fought for it until they agreed. Without him, the X-Files would not have existed at all. And all bad jokes aside, this show helped me a lot when I had no one and nothing else to help me. I was indeed in a parasocial relationship with its leads. They were my TV parents. Thing is, everything you love about the X-Files' writing... like me, any other casual viewer might discover that all of these things were not done by Carter. Yet he was getting all of the credit.
This is a very important, and seemingly obvious but not really, factoid that applies to a lot of shows and movies. The person you give credit for a thing is often not the person who should be getting it. If you're rolling your eyes right now and calling me agent Obvious: may I remind you, I'm permanently out of the loop about everything. EVERYTHING.
I'm not going to devolve this into a rant about Auteur theory...Because then I'd be here all day or until I start foaming at the mouth. And I'm sure everything has been said without me and before me, anyway. I'm not even going to write a more detailed analysis to defend my views regarding the 'painfully average'. Shmviews.
I've said what I wanted to say.
This rewatch was an interesting experience.
"Skinner wants our report in one hour. What are you going to tell him?" — "What do you mean what am I going to tell him? I'm going to tell him exactly what I saw. What are you going to tell him?" — "I'll tell him exactly what I saw".

MY X-MEN HOT TAKES
@thealmightyemprex @professorlehnsherr-almashy
@a-roguish-gambit @isareadsandwatches @knivxsanddespair @the-blue-fairie
With the Strangest Heroes of All ongoing resurgence in mainstream popularity, inspired by @s10127470 , I've decided to share my hot takes/unpopular opinions I have on the team.
1º They really should be their own continuity
The X Men are so expansive with such a unique identity , they kind of stick out compared to other Marvel Heroes.
Starting with making them people who were born with different physical appearances or powers, turned the characters to an inovation compared to previous superheroes from Marvel and DC that mostly got their powers from being affected by radiation, being supernaturally powerful gods, bein born in other planets or had financial resources that allowed them to pursue futuristic technology and training to become strong athletes.
Literary anyone can be a mutant, and the mutation can manifest in either bombastic powers, or simply giving you rainbow hair, scales and three heads, so is not automatically guaranteed that a person will be strong to fend for themselves, only a marker of different needs for acomodation and living. This is much different in tone from the stories of good vs evil adventures that the Avengers, Spider Man and the Fantastic Four focus, and enters more in the realm of thriller, urban fantasy and sci fi with a focus on social commentary.
2º Kitty Pryde's use of the N Work only happened three times, and is often taken out of its broader context, not only narratively, but in real life as well.
Is important to notice that Kitty Pryde is jewish: historically, the jewish people have ocupied a complex place amongst marginalized comunities, since most of them don't have a physical difference marker like defined skin and hair color, and due to laws often limiting their work options to money lending because that was profession often forbidden to christians (who held the power in the western world), it was easy to make them the scapegoats to get the blame for the sistemic failings caused by the rise of capitalism, which in the process, made them isolated in their history of persecution, since other minorities ended believing the antisemetic propaganda that "Jews control the economy" and "They are just white people with a different religion", they couldn't count with the solidarity of other groups, and this lack of solidarity has consequences to this day, like how most non jewish people fail to understand the trauma caused by the Holocaust. So when Kitty Pryde calls out a black person who calls her "mutie", and lists the N Word among the insults that harm in a memorial speech for a mutant teenager that killed himself, this is not "a white girl wanting license to use the N-Word thinking herself more opressed than everyone"... is a jewish person navigating isolation from other minorities when struggling with antisemitism.
3º They don't really need Professor X's leadership to be able of using the X in their team's name
In their very first publish story, Professor Xavier explains this to Jean Grey:
So he didn't gave the name to the team as to be an extension of himself: Charles is important in founding the X-Men, but it doesn't mean that they could never formed to fight for justice when without him, they would find their own way to each other, and form different concepts of how a team must work.
5º The Allegory and Social Commentary is at the Heart of why The X-Men so Much for So Many People
"I think the X-Men matter so much to me cause it's a group of outsiders, Magneto (Ian McKellen) was the first Jewish character I saw who wasn't a victim but a survivor who stood up for freedom and justice, the whole MLK and Malcom X parallels between him and Charles just magnificent and we just don't see this anymore. A breaker of chains in so many ways cause a jewish character is either a docile sad victim talking about the horrors or a joke and he is neither.
The X-Men are outsiders who aren't victims, they do good things (or morally really dark grey things) despite being persecuted and hated. They teach you how to survive, how to navigate through the hate and give you strength.
Remember the third X-Men movie? When there was a cure for mutants? It reminded me of conversion therapy, the talks of there is something wrong with you which needed to be fixed so you can be normal. I remember thinking about how stupid this cure was cause really why cure something which needs no cure? A lot of the mutants have wonderful gifts which make the world a better place if they are allowed to express themselves and share this gift. And well if that doesn't translate into this world rn then idk.
The X-Men are a diverse group and let's be real a lot of people can't deal with that, cause they can't relate to it and rather live in the fancy whitewashed avengers world. But Xmen is so important cause it gives people hero's who usually don't get the chance to see themselves as hero's."
(professorlehnsherr-almashy)
"Mutants were never meant to be a 1:1 comparison for minorities, but the stories presented in the comics and other media resonate with so many people. So many marginalized people have been smeared with accusations of being dangerous in many different ways. The thing is, ignorance towards marginalized people allows for stereotypes to be created and perpetuated. It's the othering and closed-mindedness that leads people that were taught those views to always fear the 'non-normal' groups. They worry about the kind of violence that they would encounter if they were to come across someone like that, or if their community were to allow that group in. Violence itself doesn't have to be physical in the eyes of a bigot. Existing as your natural self is enough for them. Some stereotypes focus on certain groups being violent aggressors who want to destroy you. Or, they see it as their way of life threatened, their morals questioned, if others are let in or normalized; how certain groups could possibly disrupt their community or even their own family. Changing the status quo is violent to them."
(macrobiology)
"The majority builds up an image of fear based on the "scary ones" (the rapists, the murderers, the abusers) and say "This is what they are like. This is how on how they can hurt you. We have to do it this way to protect you." And with that considered, I think X-Men/mutants really works well as an allegory.
The largest question that X-Men poses to me is that in this world where a portion of the population is born with powers, why has the world failed to accommodate their needs?"
(nadelige)
"I think that the concept of mutant hatred being politicised makes a lot of sense.
I think that governments and people in power preferring superpowered beings that they can control, and therefore branding anybody outside of that, especially people without a platform, the way that most mutants are portrayed as more or less everyday people rather than kings, billionaires, gods, etc. is a good and easy target for them to weaponise the public’s perception into anti-mutant, pro-government, pro-military propaganda.
The foundation’s already there with The Sokovia Accords, with various governments being much more in favour of controlling superpowered individuals rather than letting any of them freely act of their own individual or group accords. Mutants can simply be a face for that general sentiment to be perpetuated through propaganda. Yay War Machine, yay Captain America. Characters who have already been proven to have saved the world in large, well-known conflicts like what happened in Avengers: Endgame already have a certain level of public goodwill that governments would find hard to fight against, but newer, or lesser-known, or everyday mutants don’t have that same level of goodwill, nor influence, nor power (theoretically), that characters like The Avengers already have, and so could much easier be marketed as threats to the everyday public.
Also, seeing as not every mutant has powers that would largely benefit most governments, but there’s also some that could be weaponised dramatically, it’s believable that various governments would want to deter mutant goodwill as propaganda against other governments potentially using them, while also giving excuses not to put mutant-positive propositions forward themselves because mutants aren’t always powerfully useful for self-serving politicians and governments. If it doesn’t directly and selfishly help them personally, then they aren’t going to support it, and instead weaponise that disregard in an attempt to further their own agendas.
“Mutants are too variable to be trusted, or more accurately, used.”
(tomandharrisongifs)
6º Mojo is not a Bad Villain, and his Three Episodes in the Animated Series Were Good
I can't defend Motendo from 97 though, first because it took too much time away from Lifedeath which should have been the focus, and two because they lost the oportunity to use Arcade, who is an actual videogame inspired X-Men villain.
7º Your Reaction to Xavier and Magneto's beliefs Will Likely Depend a Lot on Wether or Not you're part of an US American Audience or a Foreign Audience
Historically, most US american mass media advocated for moderate level liberal politics, that encouraged people to slowly and gradually reach progress trough the current sistem of democracy, and viewed people who acted trough revolutionary means like the organization of guerrilla warfare as villains that could be simply "bringers of disorder and chaos" and "no better than supremacists". While there are exceptions in the cultural production of the country, most of the time, media and art that viewed revolutionary characters trough a more positive lens is made outside of the US, often criticizing the failure of the american policy that presents itself as liberating, but historically has supported several military coups that took away other countries democracies to benefit their economic interests. So in this context, it grows on people a questioning of the aproach of "peaceful coexistence" and "diplomacy" in a world where your head is constantly stepped on when you try to do just that, and so there is no other alternative but take arms and fight back.
And in this context, comes the different receptions of Xavier and Magneto's characters and beliefs between different audiences: if you grew up in the US learning to be more moderate and be afraid of revolution, is more likely (with some exceptions) that you will support Xavier's optimism of peaceful coexistence, but if you grew up outside the US (like I did) questioning the US politics in the name of respectability and pacifism and not fearing revolutionaries, then is likely that you will question the attempts of portraying Magneto as a villain even though there are many elements in the narrative that give him the right to be angry and violent and not trust humans, and attempts to argue that "he is a supremacist" doesn't work for your as a viewer.
In their personal lives, both characters fail in many levels, particularly in relation to their children, but most of the time when audiences discuss "who is right or wrong", the focus is actually in how they act as in universe political leaders.

Just so we're clear, anyone who starts defending the Faunus racism/White Fang/ and yes Adam too plots in RWBY is an idiot who is so obsessed with wanting RWBY to be perfect that they're willing to reject morals to do so.
Like be so fucking for real, Miles and Kerry themselves were like "yeah we're stupid white guys who didn't know what we were doing and got it wrong" and I'm sitting here thinking about how that dismissive attitude feels like weaponized incompetence to dismiss the straight up propaganda in their story, and the fact that they still seem to have not actually done research into how to respectfully handle the racism allegory they never should have inserted in the first place resulting in them continuing to fuck it up (hello 'faunus are not human' rearing its head again in volume 9,)... But they at the very least admit that they did get things wrong!
Some anti-rwders out there are so vile that the most they'll do is be like "oh yeah, it wasn't perfect, but-" which is a) so fucking vague and for what? Be specific, and b) it's always directly followed by them defending pretty much everything! The White Fang being a terrorist group? They'll defend it. Us not seeing any other group fighting for Faunus civil rights? They'll defend it. The fact that we also don't see anti-faunus terrorist groups? They'll defend it. The fact that the majority of the 'Faunus racism' B-plot was spent fighting Faunus who protested wrong? They'll defend it. The fact that the 'better' leader than Adam got five minutes of screentime before being murdered while seemingly all of the rest of the White Fang were more interested in following Adam until he turned on them? They'll defend it. The fact that even before Sienna was murdered, the only good Faunus we got the time to know completely disavowed her ways and rejected the White Fang as too violent prior to Adam escalating things like Sun and the Belladonnas? They'll defend it. The fact that the only time we see any one of our main characters actually engaging in protesting for and fighting for Faunus rights as anything but 'telling off one mean bigot' is a two second still of a child Blake at a rally? They'll defend it! The fact that season five in particular included the self-proclaimed white writers and the white VA for Blake having her lecture the other Faunus about how they need to take accountability for faunus-on-faunus crime and then go help the oppressor class before the Faunus rights group blew up a school by calling the police on said Faunus rights group? They'll defend it! The fact that the very first thing we hear about the White Fang is that they disrupted a peaceful protest? They'll defend it. The fact that explicitely stated in the show, peaceful protest WAS NOT working, and the methods of Sienna Kahn WERE, but every single good Faunus character we got to see for more than a moment insisted on peaceful protest only still (and yes I'm including Ilia because part of her 'redemption' involved going completely to the Belladonna way,) Yep they'll defend it. The fact that we only have one (1!!) faunus main character in the main hero group and she is also one of the most privileged people among the Faunus as well as someone who can hide their identity? They'll defend it. The fact that the majority of the evil Faunus we see besides Adam are dark skinned, while Blake is pale as death and they even lightened Sun's skin? They'll defend it! The fact that the only named Faunus in the White Fang I can think of that isn't dark skinned is also a disabled man (Adam definitely can't see out of his injured eye) who was branded like cattle in a horrific attack in his younger years? They'll defend it! The fact that the (again, self proclaimed white guy) writers of Rwby wrote it into their story that Adam was branded like cattle and yet gave that fact no nuance or attention and exposed the seal of Weiss's family company BRANDED INTO THE SKIN OF AN IN-UNIVERSE MINORITY right before he was literally KILLED and didn't seem to think it was any sort of important? They'll defend it.
The fact that the rwby writers wrote for white rich billionaire princess Weiss to be incredibly anti-Faunus towards Blake only to not show Weiss actually apologizing for her behavior and start doing the work to deconstruct her bigotry, and instead wrote that arc to involve Weiss proclaiming herself a victim and not having that protested and ending it with Weiss going from wanting to call the police on Blake to her 'graciously' forgiving Blake for being part of a not-entirely-peaceful civil rights group? They'll sure as heck defend their Best Girl! The fact that Yang led Blake around with a laser pointer, while Ruby made comments about Blake liking tuna a lot and how Ruby could explain away Blake's actions by assuring Weiss that Blake's kitty ears are cute and Weiss apparently told Team JNPR about Blake being a Faunus without Blake's permission or knowledge? They'll definitely defend that (especially Yang!) The fact that while Cardin is assaulting Velvet and targeting her for her faunus traits, none of the non-faunus mains step in to help her and his anti-faunus behavior never was brushed aside to focus on Jaune's stupid arc? They'll defend that. The fact that the faunus are labeled 'NOT HUMAN?' They'll defend that!
People need to stop defending it. The rwby writers fucked up, their racism allegory was horribly done and honestly hasn't gotten much better, and I think anyone who actually has the gall to defend it and try to twist it all into rainbows and sunshine so they can keep pretending like they don't like a show that's problematic is just awful. Like, the hypocrisy of people being like "if you take issue with how Adam was treated in rwby, then you are just defending a white man" and then turning around and defending the real life white men who ADMIT THEMSELVES that they fucked up.
Criticizing the writing of rwby doesn't equal defending Adam the character for the actions he was written to do. Adam the character sucks both as a person and as a character because the rwby writers can't even write a hatesink well.
But actively trying to dispute and getting angry at every single ounce of criticism that the rwby writers receive no matter how deserved actually DOES equal defending Miles and Kerry, two self-proclaimed white men who actually exist in real life. Funny how people keep on pretending that rwde posters are the ones defending men, when the majority of the posts I see will fully admit that Adam is a horrible abusive bastard (I blocked the one loser who I've seen here trying to dispute that,) but anti-rwdes themselves are the ones desperately trying to pretend that Miles and Kerry haven't ever done anything wrong.

Welcome to the new and improved blog of Ask High Priest Red! This is an ask blog featuring the cast of my Pokémon fanfics, Hunter, Haunted and its sequel, The Bringer. Note that there are major spoilers for the first story. If you’d like to read the fic before engaging with this blog, you can find the story here: https://forums.thousandroads.net/threads/hunter-haunted.371/
Be aware that this blog will include content with violence (including against women and minors), gore and cannibalism. Visual material should, at its worst, be 16+. There will be no explicit sexual content.
With that out of the way, let’s meet the characters! From right to left in the image, they are:
Red: Eighteen-year-old high school dropout neck deep in the cult of Helixism. Has sacrificed eight women to HELIX by now. Believes the world is divided into mareep and houndoom, and that he is among the latter. Suffered through the Twitch six years ago, but doesn’t consider that relevant anymore. Currently searching for candidates to be the Bringer, who is the one HELIX will promote to godhood in order to bring back the Helixian Kingdom.
Helix (in Red’s arms): A vessel to part of HELIX’s spirit, yet unaware of the true nature of that god. Happy-go-lucky child who loves his adoptive fathers Red and the nidoking Fonz. Has been resurrected twice.
Michi: A twelve-year-old orphan with aura sensitivity and a pocket knife. Friend of Joanna. Red killed her once, but somehow, she’s returned. Loves exploring the outdoors and hanging out with her ghost friends.
Samson: A thirty-something Arcean priest with a big heart. Has a wife and two children, one of which is an adopted houndoom son. Unaware of Red’s crimes, viewing him as just a kid with depression and anger issues. Ghosts’ rights activist.
Andre: A 23-year-old aura-sensitive Galarish painter from a rich family. Sociable, charming, well-read. Unbeknownst to all but Red, he is also a vigilante who seduces abusers in order to murder them. Red’s number one candidate for Bringerhood, even if Andre thinks the whole Helixism thing is nonsense.
Kohath: The first Helixian king, roughly forty years old, displaced in time by 4,000 years. This slave-turned-warlord’s likes are HELIX, violence, a nice meaty stew, sex with the bros and his dear Aavan houndoom Tsayedet. He is surprised by his sudden ability to understand and speak Tohjoan, but dealing with HELIX has exposed him to wilder things. Admired greatly by Red.
Joanna: A 21-year-old college student - or she was one before her death at Red’s hand. She reincarnated as a yamask, prompting Red to come after her once again. After managing to torment Red for an extended amount of time, she was sadly killed by an exorcism performed by Samson, who was unaware of the situation. She is, however, now back for a second time.
The Beast: A monstrous manifestation of Red’s aggression and bloodlust. While he is quite dim, he is no less dangerous. Loves killing things, eating flesh and belly rubs. Listens to none but HELIX.
HELIX (not pictured): A primordial god. Cold and calculative. HIS goal is to use the body of his Bringer to claim ownership of reality. Currently lives in a fossil hidden away Red’s basement.
That’s all of them! For now, anyway. More characters may appear if some posts call for it.
I will most likely make an ask suggestion post at some point, in which case I will link to it from this post. You are, however, free to ask questions already! I will try to get to them in a timely manner.
Thanks,
Canis
