For once I actually went through the Arcane AMA and found those quotes about Silco's motivation. It's kind of wild to see it in full context.
Tumblr media
First, I didn't even know the "dirty little thing" insecurity was an agreed upon perspective, I just thought it was one writer's opinion but no, Christian Linke (Praeco) let us know that was Silco's thing. Ok. I can see how that can tie in to how Silco and Jinx connected, personal insecurities from a hard life.
Tumblr media
But then Amanda Overton (leeloo104) goes into detail.
Tumblr media
I already know the creative team said they don't think political struggle is "relatable" (yikes), but I've never seen this extra tidbit before!
Tumblr media
What do you mean this all so Vander will respect Silco again?!!??!? First of all I could really go in about how Arcane's team seem incapable of having any character fully articulate an actual in-depth explanation about on their grievances with the status quo and what changes should be applied that isn't somehow about familial validation. *looks at Jinx*
Instead, we need unpack how this motivation is at best, very weird, or flat out doesn't make sense. The quote makes it sound like Zaun was fully Silco's idea to win back Vander's love and respect, but Silco said a free Zaun was their shared dream. And regaining Vander's respect seems like a moot point when Silco killed Vander.
Unless Silco knows Vander isn't dead, and that Singed's been slowly turning Vander into Warwick. But then why does he talk to the Vander statue like Vander is dead? I don't doubt Silco wouldn't visit Warwick even in Warwick's confused state. Either way, the Vander that Silco wanted to receive validation from doesn't exist anymore.
I get that they probably wanted to connect Silco's motivation to Jinx's obsession with Vi, but that can be problematic too! It just ends up where Silco and Jinx are written in a way where their search for emotional validation takes precedence over any attempt for them to communicate a coherent and detailed observation on the surrounding politics of their environment.
It would be one thing if they were minor characters, or this was just related to Jinx because she's the youngest in the cast and her story is about understanding who she is. But it's both of them, Silco's at least in his forties, and they're a part of the main cast. On top of that, I'd say their the two most politically influential Zaunites in the cast, and we know NOTHING about what they stand for, what they think the future should look like. Nothing, just vibes.

"What if Stanley somehow manages to destroy the portal just like he destroyed my perpetual motion machine?"
Holy shit, Stanford, you just spent the last few pages of your Journal outlining in horrifying detail how Bill took your body on a criminal joyride and forced you to forget your own name while pulling your bones from their very sockets in a hallucinatory nightmare void. You woke up weeping on your living room floor.
And yet, you have the absolute fucking gall to be concerned your brother, if you summon him to Gravity Falls, might destroy the Portal???? You mean the one piece of leverage you have over Bill? The main reason he's stalking you? The machine that will literally end the world if activated?
Between this, Ford refusing to burn his journals, and the fact he fully intends on continuing his work on the Portal once he's solved the Bill problem -
Tumblr media
This is the picture of a man at the apex of both megalomania and a mental breakdown.
Could you imagine if Ford had found a way to beat back Bill and keep the Portal? Just how much would his ego have inflated even more? (Probably large enough that he wouldn't fit out the door). I feel like it's a timeline where Ford becomes the Big Bad, not because of Bill (well, a little bit because of Bill), but because he sees himself as transcending godhood and what little is left of his moral compass he casts into a black hole. ("He may be a god, but I am scientist.")
The juxtaposition between this and Stan's sacrifice during Weirdmageddon is insane. Ford, who steadfastly refused to give up his life's work to save world and Stan, who gave up everything he was to save the world. There's got to be a part of Stan that reads these pages and wonders just who his brother is, when he turned unto a supervillain, and if it would ever happen again. Stan may not want to acknowledge it, but deep down, I think he's legitimately pissed at Ford for being such narcissistic bonehead. I think it is something that haunts him in the odd hours of the night, his brother sleeping soundly in the bunk next to him on the Stan O'War II while Stan ponders if he's sharing quarters with Lex Luthor. You could have ended it, Poindexter. You could have ended so long ago.
The past is the past and as his mother would say, you can't unshit a turd. (Something Stan has more experience with than he'd like, regret trailing him his whole life like a vengeful shadow). Ford is here now, they're alive, the bastard triangle is gone. But God, does he want to sit his brother down, tie him to a chair, and scream at him, to shake him and demand to know just what hell he had been thinking, why he had allowed himself to become this kind of...this kind of monster.
Stan will never, ever do this. He has his brother, has his awkward affection, has almost everything he's ever wanted. The answers are not worth it. (In Stan's experience, the answers are almost never worth it.)
And as for Ford? Somewhere in his subconscious, a shrill, too-familiar voice likes to remind him of who he is and what he can still become. The same grating voice that tells him they're not so different, after all, that there's still time, there's always time to fix the past, to create the future. You're a scientist, after all. You're more than a god.
That's the voice Ford papers over with contrition, with guilt and self-abnegation and a near-manic dedication to the small boat bobbing along in the Arctic, not even holding a speck of relevance compared to the vast and might ocean, forget to the multiverse at large. That's the voice Ford drinks away in secret on the worst nights, the one that tells him a stone statue in the forest is as much him as it is the monster whose shape it embodies.

MDZS Notes + Analysis — Chapter Two: “Reincarnation”
Three main things stood out to me when rereading this chapter: the theme of status, our intro to WWX, and the information were given about his state after death.
…Well, four things, but the other one will get its own post.
The theme of status is immediately introduced* with ‘MXY’’s treatment and the backstory of MXY and his mother, yet again showing just how well MDZS’s ideas are integrated into the text and how well it’s paced! You’re introduced to every important theme so, so early on. Two screenshots are analysed below:
Tumblr media
(See: entitlement of the upper classes towards the lower classes, and how this can exist even between members of the ‘same family’; and arguably the idea of debts between a richer family and someone who was 'taken in'. There are a surprising amount of parallels between MXY and WWX, but I'll make my own post about that)
Tumblr media
(See: once again, differences in status between members of the same family, and also the worse, and disposable, treatment of one daughter because she was "the daughter of a servant". Now, why does that phrase sound familiar...?)
Also, MXY's mother was sixteen when she attracted JGS's attention... if you somehow needed even more material to hate the guy...
We also get introduced to WWX’s personality(!), which immediately disproves the rumours from last chapter on how he'd cast the world into ruin:
Tumblr media
(That's one of the first questions he asks after waking up – I love how he's so concerned about this! It shows us two important things, too: 1) Morality is important to WWX, and 2) Doing immoral things seems to be out of the ordinary for him. Both of these stand in direct contrast to the picture of WWX we were painted earlier!)
Tumblr media
(Same thing here, along with showing us some of the (healthy!) pride WWX has – he wouldn't be offended at this if wasn't something he held as important within himself)
Tumblr media
(I use this quote again, but here it's once again proving that the vengeful, evil WWX who'd sink the cultivation world into "nothing but chaos and despair" at the first chance he got... very much does not exist.)
Tumblr media
(And finally, it's explicitly confirmed here that he's not the type to take exessive revenge and take pleasure in it... at least at this point in time, because. MXY definitely had reason to think this considering Sunshot!WWX, if everyone had been working from the truth. But importantly that isn't who he is now, and isn't who the WWX villified by the cultivation world was – imo that's including Nightless City, we'll get to that when I reach it. But note that actions during the Sunshot campaign aren't even mentioned in the prologue, because, shock, they actually helped the cultivation world win the war! Though that doesn't mean they weren't part of rumours + the WWX hatred mill later.)
Then some non-morality related things:
Tumblr media
This is just really funny to me, with how the makeup being badly applied (:o) is enough of an issue to merit a thought – WWX I love you.
Tumblr media
And then this way of thinking comes back a few times esp during the earlier chapters, enough to be noted I think.
Confirmation on WWX's status after he died – it's not anything new to point out, but this chapter does give us rare insights into what state he was in during the post-death, pre-rebirth period.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, he was somewhat conscious, enough to be aware of what he was(n't) doing – seeking vengeance, haunting the living – and was seemingly in control of those actions. However, he was specifically a "wandering ghost" – his soul didn't pass onto the afterlife or "return back to Earth"** like the body-offering spell's caster's would. He was conscious that a long time had passed as well, and this long period of downtime where he could accept + deal with what happened in his first life is what likely allowed him to be so well-adjusted the second time round – even taking into account the remarkably good way he tends to deal with things in general (cue the "forgetting the wound when the pain fades" quote, it summarises WWX's mindset really well)***.
Also, as for resisting the summons from the prologue – I'm wondering how much was due to WWX's experience with resentful energy + general capability (if that affects it..?) allowing him to consciously refuse, how much was due to WWX not being the type to hold onto resentment (so possibly spells targeting ghosts, full of this resentful energy, wouldn't be as affected?), and how much was due to the relative lack of knowledge about how ghosts/resentful energy works compared to WWX. Or, if it was something else. Either way, achieving the impossible, that's WWX for you :D
It is interesting that he hasn't heard a voice in ages despite wandering, too – do ghosts just not hear the same way, or did he deliberately avoid areas with people? I could see both, the second being more likely, especially considering how many people wanted to summon him back for... less than stellar purposes.
Misc:
Poor Mo Xuanyu....
Tumblr media
--
*Well, reinforced – in the prologue, one of the things said about WWX is that "if not for the YunmengJiang clan’s adopting and teaching him, he would have been a hobo living on the streets", which is among the insults people throw. So of course, class-affecting-perception is tied to WWX from the very beginnning! But this is the first time it's actually explored, not a throwaway line.
**Though that may be what's literally happening to WWX's soul here – it is wandering around Earth – I don't think that's what this line refers to. There's a very good meta on how different translations handled that line, I really recommend it (tysm @/mxtxfanatic for finding it)!
***It would be very interesting to read a fic where it felt like no time had passed for him since his death, actually! Though the extremely stressful circumstances are gone, it would still be interesting to see a WWX for whom the Siege, Nightless City, Qiongqi Path etc are pretty recent – but only in fic territory, since I'm so, so glad we got the WWX we did in canon. Also, I'd love to see a fic maybe exploring some of his time as a ghost...?

SORRY, I'M FANGIRLING (Is that even a word?)
Tattly, I swear, I was thinking about sending this request DURING New Year's Eve, BUT MY ENTIRE CITY SPENT THE FIRST DAY COMPLETELY WITHOUT POWER 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
But if I can ask you now, tell me: in what pose do you think the twst boys sleep?
Who has the Dracula pose, who looks like they were run over and, most importantly, WHO HAS THE "POWER BOTTOM, ASS UP" POSE??
I've been completely high on coffee for 4 days, sorry about that~
-🌙
(You'll see a lot of me here, I loved the place)
Hello and happy new year, 🌙! Mx Tattly is pleased with your return. They have conducted a very elaborate investigation, with the help of some of the fellow NRT members. Hope you enjoy the findings!
Turbulent sleep or unperturbed slumber?
Characters: main NRC students cast, NRC staff, Che'nya, Neige (separate)
Warnings: none
By opening the document, you agree to Mx Tattly's terms of source confidentiality.
-ˋˏ’✄┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
The yearners/cuddlers: Deuce, Ruggie, Azul, Kalim, Trein, Neige
These are a bunch of people who yearn for warmth and affection. Either they're used to being cuddled to sleep, or they have a natural urge to grab onto something or someone and hold onto it/them until the sun comes up. Their grip is sturdy, their sleep is sound and their pillow is very likely drooled on. They're the most likely to snore, from small kitten snores to bass bosted remixes.
『••✎••』
The pristine logs: Riddle, Jack, Silver, Crewel
This is the sleep position of a person who totally has their life together (/s) and absolutely nothing is wrong with them (/s). They are totally okay with their life (/s). Even from the moment the go to bed they know how they want to wake up in the morning. The pose is unshakeable and they are statues, impossible to wake up from the outside, even with the aid of the loudest Sebek available.
『••✎••』
The space hoggers: Grim, Ace, Jade, Floyd, Crowley
Their mission is to occupy as much of the bed as possible. Either from spreading their limbs for comfort or from moving in their sleep as if they're dreaming of participating in a yoga class, they will never wake up the same way they went to bed. Their dedication to claim as much of the bed as possible no matter who else shares it could be rivaled only by the Roman Empire.
『••✎••』
The squishy limb havers: Jamil, Cater, Idia, Che'nya
These people don't fall asleep, they collapse of exhaustion on their bed after being awake for too long, only to wake up a few hours later and wonder why their new bed was the floor. Unfortunately for them, it would be hard for them to fall back asleep, as they somehow managed to get some rest in the position they powered down in. If by some miracle half of their body is still on the bed in the morning, they consider it as a win.
『••✎••』
The coffin dwellers: Trey, Vil, Rook, Ortho, Malleus, Sebek, Sam
This is another position of a perfectly normal person with absolutely no issues whatsoever (/s). This pose is not only absolutely mundane and normal (/s), but it's also efficient: it's the position that allows them to sleep the best and to wake up the fastest in the morning. They sleep (or charge) in a position worth grading, and the school should implement a scoring system that would benefit their overall grade only based on the perfect stillness and grace and total normalcy (/s) of their sleep.
『••✎••』
The freefallers: Epel, Leona, Lilia, Vargas
These people have nothing to fear, as sleeping with you butt upwards and on your stomach is a pose used to assert dominance and superiority. It shows fearlessness, because an unprotected back is a show of vulnerability. Despite the risk they subject themselves to in order to make a statement, they refuse to change their sleeping position. They prefer their freedom and the superiority complex... and the neck / back pain in the morning.

Everyone who is getting excited over Rezero English React fics are back on the rise, y'all should also know the chinese fandom on LOFTER are so badly influenced by Rezero AO3 that they are also writing a bunch of react fics.
One chinese fan is such a big fan that they compiled a full completed list of Rezero React fics in chinese, english and even japanese. Unfortunately they didn't include my IQ react fic!! Why!! (jokes aside, it likely also because I did not tag the fic as a react fic and it not mainly ReZero HAH)
Surprisingly, there is actually one fully completed chinese rezero react fic that covers Arc 1-4 main story as well as all the IF routes, including Three Idiots: Cursed Goddess Statue SS. Instead of it being a simple theatre screening, the cast were thrown into a room where there is 6 doors present. Everyone have to go investigate the rooms in order to find tarot cards. If you want to try to read it yourself, you will have to create a LOFTER account which if you are not chinese, it might be a little difficult to create. But I will link it anyways here.
If anyone is interested, I don't mind sharing a simple summary of the fic, but I would not translate it as it is over 70 chapters including side content of Subaru hanging out with the other IF!Subarus where they temporarily returned to Japan, traumatized their parents, cried a lot, and then just as they thought they are going home, they somehow landed in Wrathbaru's world where they vibed in Pandemonium. The author kinda got lazy towards the end because in the final chapter of the main fic, they just skipped over to all of them going to Mainbaru's world.
To be honest what's crazy is that this same author who completed a react fic is now writing another one... Now based on puzzles... I have not read it but Imma be fr, react fics... Can indeed get boring over time... Even if it amusing...

I really and truly didn't expect fucking Hindley to have any emotional impact. Just a hollow shell of a privileged man.
But that fight against his Distortion...
The phase two where you just see how he was consumed by envy and hate, spoiled beyond belief... just an empty shell...
Who can only scream "give it back!", like he never grew past the age of ten... even as an adult, with gambling problems, drinking problems, and spending problems... he really is just showing up as a ten year old still...
I mean, Hindley is a special sort of case where he really and truthfully doesn't have any redeeming qualities. But somehow... something strangely resonant, something heartbreaking comes from that, just seeing that massive lumbering hound, full of nothing but scorn and mourn...
Just an empty shell. A sorrowful sight. The epitome of the phrase "spoiled rotten". Perhaps he could have deserved more love for his father? I mean, all children deserve more love from their parents, but Hindley has always been, his entire life, one of those upper-class british folks. I mean, the context is different here in Canto 6, because I mean, they didn't include some of the defining things from the original novel, like the entire thing with the sociological status of early 19th century Britain, and the fact that the main reason why Heathcliff was dehumanized and humiliated was like. Racism (I mean come on, they literally call him a g*psy multiple times throughout the book.)
But Hindley... something about that miserable shell of a man... the idea that a human being can become something, or someone like that...
I think what I'm trying to say is that, that's the big emotional stinger. The idea that someone has been given every opportunity to be a better person, but has cast away every last chance given to them... leaving nothing but a hollow shell. Unloved and Unlovable.

Rose's Day of Asks - the sequel
Hi! My question for you... Which actors do you wish would get cast in a bl as a lead? and with what partner, if you have any in mind?
Have a wonderful night. Rose❤️
Hi Rose, thank you so much for your question! I hope you feel better already. 💜💜💜
There's so many actors I'd love to finally see as the lead in a BL - mostly solo actors because they started their acting careers as side characters, love rivals or villains so there's so much potential to pair them with other fresh faces.
Someone who immediately comes to mind (surprising, I know lmao) is Winner Tanatat because I love him dearly and he's reliably been stealing the show for me wherever he pops up. He's basically taken Big Thanakorn's place on top of the third wheel podium now that Big FINALLY got his well-deserved main role.
Tumblr media
I also can't believe domundi have been sleeping on Poppy Ratchapong for so long. Yes, he's talented and funny but have you considered giving Poppy a boyfriend?? Maybe make it Nont Intanont because they both looked really good in Nont's MV for ธรรมดาที่ไหน:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then again, domundi have also been sleeping on Mark Sorntast until recently when he's been looking like that FOR YEARS.
And gmmtv isn't much better. I mean, Papang Phromphiriya exists. I know I'm not alone in wanting him as the lead in a BL (or any show, really, just give me more Papang I'm begging you gmmtv 😭).
Tumblr media
I'm also very partial to Kay Lertsittichai but gmmtv seem to have firmly typecast him as the villain now. Which is an injustice (I like his villains though - they're very pathetic and wet).
Tumblr media
Same with idolfactory and Heng Asavarid. Someone free these men from their status as morally questionable side characters!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unpopular opinion time but this scene with Heng and Nat Sakdatorn in The Sign stole the whole show for me. The things I'd do for more HengNat. 🫠
Then there's Kokliang Parinya who's posting the most beautiful photoshoots on his insta EVERY DAMN WEEK yet somehow he's not been the lead in a BL even once. That man's a medical doctor ffs please someone cast him as the leading man. 🙏
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also need justice for Non Ratchanon (even though he's been in a short story compilation by Director Golf and in a few other things like The Rebound but that just shows how well he can act) and I'd love to see him as the lead in a fully-fledged 12 episode BL.
Tumblr media
The same goes for Bank Chanwut. I MEAN JUST LOOK AT HIM (and imagine what could have been if 9NAA didn't mess up Beyond the Star).
Tumblr media
And I generally don't understand how Rossi Nonthakorn isn't everywhere after On Cloud Nine (yes technically he was playing the lead here and in another shortform series along with Non Ratchanon but that's not the same innit).
Tumblr media
This is getting far too long already but I can't believe I almost forgot about Boss Thawatchanin who can do cute and, uh, whatever else that was with Gap Jakarin in Norrasing (but, really, I don't mind, give me more GapBoss):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And what about Na Naphat? He made me like Tawan in Kinnporsche (he did everything wrong and I love him) AND WE WERE PROMISED NA AND FIAT PATCHATA IN WISH ME LUCK!!
Tumblr media
There's really so many other actors that I'd love to see in the spotlight in their own series. Like JJFong in a proper show where they aren't relegated to comic relief. Or JJUs now that they're freed from BOC's basement. Or PromMark because they've been trying to sail their ship for years now (and they recorded a song together that's still one of my faves) but maybe we'll finally get lucky in Jack & Joker. 🤞

fascinating to me that angel's been dead for longer than the majority of the main cast. I wonder what he was doing pre-val, and also how alastor and other overlord drama completely passed him by + how public vs private the vox and alastor fallout was -- did the rest of hell have an idea of it happening? just, angel as kind of an insight into the majority of the pride ring/sinners knowledge of shifts in the status quo around them -- assuming the flow of information is extremely censored and controlled if you're not in charge of things, but it's interesting to think that the average sinner really doesn't have any access to how things work around them at all (I feel like charlie's hotel is beginning to change that).
this ask was actually meant to be "how many people know about alastor's and vox' initial fallout" but now i have more questions about pride ring's hierarchies and how little the average sinner knows
angel dust died before vox and somehow managed to be completely out of touch with the stuff that was happening that he had no idea who alastor was in the pilot and he used to be a big deal, so I'm not even sure if angel's knowledge is an accurate telling of how private the vox alastor fallout was, but I guess he could also be like a representation of what the average sinner knows? I mean like to be fair most of our main cast are not the "average sinner", charlie's princess of hell, vaggie's a fallen angel, alastor's an overlord, husk's a former overlord, lucifer's king of hell, niffty is....... niffty (who didn't even know who the vees were), pentious uh knew enough about alastor to want to start beef with him...? seemed shocked along with angel when hearing about alastor's history though. honestly not sure if angel would've even known about the vees if it weren't for val? idk sdkfghllf angel being unaware about certain things could also just be a him thing
I'm guessing the fallout itself (ie the rejection) was private since alastor seemed like he was revealing the fact that vox tried to ask him out to join his team to an audience for the first time in stayed gone. I'm sure vox didn't do much to hide his newfound hatred towards alastor after their fallout I mean he went public with the shit in stayed gone so I wouldn't be surprised if he did back then too. I wanna say anyone who regularly watched/listened to vox and alastor knew they at least had a rivalry? question is how many people knew when they were associated? were they public about it? there's the picture vox has but we don't know much else

Cia HyWars is pure evil?
There is so much I could say about Cia . and i will ! you’re stuck with me now idiot !!!!! (speaking into an empty room)
i was going to skip this section bc if anybody reading this somehow didn’t know who Cia is then like . google is right there . but zeldadungeon actually has fuck all to say about cia’s backstory and i would never knowingly subject someone to the fandom wikis.
Cia was originally known as the Guardian of Time, a minor deity tasked with overlooking the checks and balances of the triforce across the past and future. She did this work alone, and her psyche was left vulnerable to a fragment of ganondorf’s soul. Her admiration and jealousy of the holder’s of the triforce was manipulated until she became physically fragmented, her “light half” being cast from her as she was fully corrupted.
That half goes on to become Lana, and what remains of Cia wants two things: Collect Link like barbie doll, and help Ganondorf restore his soul and gather the triforce so she can Collect Link like barbie doll. She’s the main antagonist of the game now.
why would she do this? is she stupid?
being lonely makes you crazy and i mean this very genuinely.
Hyrule Warriors is constantly hammering in that you need to rely on other people through gameplay And story beats. i would even say that friendship and teamwork is one of the strongest and most recognizable themes. In the very first stage there is an honestly comical back and forth that goes as follows: link runs in to fight volga. impa runs in to save link. link hops up last second and saves impa instead . and then they round out the stage with impa saving link and delivering the hero’s tunic to him. this has to be a joke? but it isn’t . they LOVE TEAMWORK !! not to mention the gameplay that forces you to run around and help your allies, or the massive story beat that revolves around Link running ahead to fight on his own, which i could dissect in its own post.
unrelated but related, in the first edition of this game Cia dies. she asks lana to make her pain make sense, reveals that she knew on some level she was doomed to fail, and admits that lana really is better than her. it’s a bitter ending with very little fanfare, as ganondorf swoops in quickly to kickstart the beginning of the end.
But in later versions, there’s additional content. Cia is found to be alive, struggling against Phantom Ganon’s forces with the last of her power. She becomes an ally and she gets to live at the end, finding a happy ending in resuming her duties now as one of two Guardians of Time with Lana.
Would it be such a stretch to assume that the root of her pain was her solitude? Her admiration of Link as the revered hero, her jealousy of Zelda as the damsel who is destined to always fight by his side, and her happy ending. she easily walks away from Link, Zelda, and the allure of the triforce because now she finally has company, and knows she is leaving them all as friends. Wouldn’t it make sense thematically that in the game about friendship, the main antagonist would be driven in part by a lack of it?
this doesn’t justify starting a war
yeag . the devs for the Dynasty Warriors hack and slash series should have made it Not a war (JOKE. PARODY. but see the first sentence or the previous section)
but what about the part where she is an irredeemable creep?
look me in the eyes . i cannot describe how much this train of thought kills me. i am trying not to point at anybody specific here but it actually scares me a little bit how common and Assumed To Be True this is considering the preexisting racism and misogyny surrounding Cia’s design and role within the game
Cia is creepy towards Link. it’s not normal to disregard a person’s autonomy because you want to “make him yours”, and it’s not normal to have just So Many pictures and statues of a guy. but i have to draw the line there because Genuinely that is where it ends.
Pet names? if you play her side campaign you find that she calls Literally everyone things like “lovelies” and “darling.” Her speech mannerisms are classically cartoonish villain and i am absolutely biased because i love this
Age difference? an important thing to note is that cia’s design is one of the things the most afflicted by the aforementioned racism and misogyny. considering she has no canonical age afaik it freaks me out that people treat her like a Textual Predator with the Everything in mind.
if she’s redeemable then they did a shit job at it.
no argument there . i think everyone forever should make something new up to make up for the fact that they did a Poor Redemption . at least have her say sorry or something idunno .
in my opinion they had a lot going on when cia joined the allies, so i like to imagine she ended up getting a proper redemption arc After phantom ganon is put to bed. it lives in my head and it’s just as convoluted and weird as the rest of the game 👍
Hyrule Warriors is just an extremely elaborate excuse to play dolls
and i LOVE my tuoys. come play with meeeee come have fun with me and ciaaaaaa

but what if pizza = religion?
i'm going for it i'm doing the thing
this is the pizza antichrist post i threatened to make. Incoherent ramblings and pseudo-christian imagery under the cut
so pizza, the food, the round delicious thingy, is obviously pretty important to the Pizza Tower lore. Peppino makes it, Gustavo probably does too, almost all enemies are themed after it, etc. There has to be a reason for it, right? (ignore the fact that the reason is most likely a joke please)
so let's focus on two entities in particular: the priest (also the exorcist) and the pizzard
the priest can remove status effects from you, one of which is um DEATH?? dude can straight up resurrect you. Where does he get the power for his miracles? Well, if you look at his hat (and ignore the crosses they sometimes pull out as generic iconography), you can see a red pizza symbol. So what if, right, WHAT IF the main religion of this world is pizza based?
listen. Why else would there be sentient toppins running around. Not only are they deemed to be dangerous/important enough by the inhabitants of the Tower to get put into cages, but they also have an inherent monetary value. That or they all carry $10 on them idk. But i really think they're integral to the divine art of pizza making somehow
Tumblr media
Following from this, What if pizza making is less of a trade and more of a holy ritual that allows you to harness the godly powers of this dish? And what if - hear me out - Peppino himself is a rogue pizza priest who's cast away his robes in favour of serving the common folk. Kind of like a renegade paladin
Tumblr media
was this just an excuse to draw peppino as a priest? maybe
ok back to pizzards. These buggers are described as practicing "pizzamancy". Don't think we need to wonder too hard where this arcane art draws its powers from. But here's the thing - while priests are generally helpful to the player/Peppino and seem to be working against the Tower and its occupants, pizzards are your enemies. There are two warring sides to this divine power. And if the pizza priests can be assumed to ask the pizza god for miracles and be under the jurisdiction of the pizza pope, why would the same godly entity help pizzards? Well, what if there's also a pizza satan. No not the one with the super hot pizza. Altho wait. Maybe? idk. Let me sleep on it.
POINT IS. whoever they are, the devil is probably off in hell somewhere, but someone else might be on earth in their stead. Someone immensely and seemingly nonsensically powerful. So pizzards serve Pizzahead - he even rents one to Noise as a minion in the comics - and they appear to be coded as this world's equivalents of satanic cultists. Pizzahead has access to vast reality bending powers for no apparent reason but is still firmly rooted in this world. Conclusion? Pizzahead is the pizza antichrist

i think so much about how billys meant to be this stereotype high school jock that everyone fawns over and how, with the duffers us vs them narratives, billy is supposed to represent the Them™ and like everything steves meant to be breaking away from. billy comes in as the one meant to fit in with the Cool Kids. hes supposed to be part of the in crowd
except it fails because everything about billys character design, specifically when placed in a small conservative town in the 80s, lends to the complete opposite reaction.
he comes in loud and brash, a guy wearing jewelry, taking care of his appearance, dresses very rock and roll, goes out in public without a shirt/buttons undone so much he might as well not be wearing one.
hes flashy. demands attention.
that shit does NOT fly in that setting. that makes him a target for peoples bigotry and prejudices, realistically.
especially when you compare it to the rest of the main cast that DOES dress exactly how one is expected to in that setting (the only one you can maybe make an exception for is robin. who happens to be queer... interesting.)
MAYBE billy can get away with it at school amongst his peers (but also knowing that there were jason carvers amongst them... probably not so much. but of course the duffers dont think about that). but he sure as hell is not getting away with it with the adult men in that town. maybe he has the moms ogling after him (and those moms specifically need to SEEK FUCKING THERAPY OR JAIL TIME but i digress), but like a typical god fearing housewife in that setting ?? oh you bet your ass she’s side eyeing him too and passing judgement.
what it comes down to is that the duffers have no fundamental understanding of the society they are writing for. theyve got blinders on for the one specific narrative they want told, that they dont realize it entirely falls apart under any scrutiny
realistically, every time billy steps foot in public, he will be ostracized. so he either has to have INCREDIBLE confidence to not let that affect him (which, we can make a good argument that it would, because god knows theres enough canon evidence to show that billy isnt as untouchable as he likes to make himself out to be), or we have to take into account how anxiety inducing it mustve been for him to just exist in that town. he’s already got a father at home calling him slurs for his appearance, you know it doesnt start and end there.
and then i think about how this show likes to pick and choose who the outsiders are, who’s the underdog we should be rooting for. and somehow its the main cast of characters who all have a found family, who all dont actually deviate that far out of what is expected of them from society, who are all forced to conform to one set of standards and never question it, never branch out from it.
but like... billys the one upholding the status quo? the guy who literally has his entire being wrapped up in everything conservative america hates? hes the biggest outcast of them all and yet no one ever considers how isolated that makes him

Jay what about an au where NMJ and JGY switch bodies right after Sunshot finishes. Say at the phoenix mountain hunt.
you come on this here website and call me by my government name? before marriage???
five headcanons for a Freaky Friday situation after the pmh....hmmmmm
~Gender Dysphoria~ let's get the easy one out of the way first. You know me, i cum the second someone says "blorbo transgender" so naturally anything even Body Horror Adjacent will have Gender Feelings. They needn't even be trans as long as some sort of gender yuri is happening.
everyone would find out immediately. There's no way nmj could spend five minutes in Jin company without making a decisively un-Guangyao-like sarcastic remark. There's no way jgy, who is Deflection Georg and makes 100000 vague statements per day, could tolerate being confrontational.
Ok maybe not everyone, but our Main Cast certainly find out very quickly. NHS figures it out within 3 minutes of the switch ('jgy' started scolding him immediately while 'nmj' just kept smiling, it's creepy-) and naturally this means that lxc gets recruited to help fix this. Somehow, as is tradition with AUs that involve dubious magic, wwx gets involved which naturally means lwj is present as well. jc is also there, though his main purpose seems to be yelling and being outraged at things because someone has to be responsible in this mess, and by god it's gonna be him.
Naturally the whole Switching Situation cannot be fixed overnight and they must Pretend To Be Each Other In Public. This leads to a lot of heartfelt confessions about social status and societal expectations on both ends (not only on jiggy's side. yes, we've done jiggy's pressures and circumstances to hell and back, don't worry, we'll cover them here again, but like. give me MORE. build this world with me. take my hand.) They both grow as people and learn to appreciate each other and be more empathetic and bla bla bla you get the gist.
i think it would be super fun if jiggy can hear baxia now (and maybe feel the effects of early onset hereditary qi deviation???). she would be absolutely delighted by this skinny scared-but-bitter-determined-vicious little Human who is inhabiting her master's body. He's just so fun to scare at night and isn't it hilarious to whisper evil things in his ear and why is your sabre always talking to you da-ge?!
*6. Bonus headcanon! because this is a 3zun Dubious Magic au naturally the absolutely only way to resolve this after all of the conversations are had and revelations are made is by sex. ah, the wonders of dual cultivation... the traditional way most Strange Magic gets solved in this genre of AU, apparently, and who are we without traditions? If it so happens to help with certain hereditary diseases...

Ok… so here me out…
The main cast x royal reader.
Omg yes I love this idea!! I imagine the Devildom is smaller than the human world in terms of sheer numbers (think millions vs billions) so the demons kind of assume you’re more widely known/a bigger deal than you actually are.
I had a lot of fun working with this prompt (especially for Diavolo, there's just something about the idea of him connecting with someone else who is royalty that charms me)
Main cast x royal!reader (gender neutral, referred to as ‘you’) !!
Lucifer - He employs a pretty decent amount of respect towards you, though won’t hesitate to make it known that you shouldn’t expect to have the same luxuries in the Devildom that you did back in the human world. He may ask the occasional polite question regarding it all, but won’t go out of his way to question you. He acts with a mild distaste if you try to pull rank or do anything that normally wouldn’t be acceptable within polite society - he won’t hesitate to scold you or remind you of how he thinks royalty ‘should’ act.
Mammon - He mostly cares about the money, jewels, and your previous lavish lifestyle. He’ll ask a million questions, but all of them somehow circle back to those three things. He takes it upon himself to become a ‘butler’ of sorts, but in reality that’s just him making up excuses to give others orders that he’s come up with and demand things that he wants under the guise of it being for you. He does think it’s pretty cool though, and secretly sort of looks up to you because of it. He may also kick up quite a fuss if anyone dares to look down on you in any way.
Leviathan - Totally freaks out upon finding out. Kind of trips up over himself a lot and uses a bunch of weird (and a lot of irrelevant or out of date) titles for you, bows and natters away at you until he catches himself and gets super flustered. His self deprecation is kind of bumped up a notch thanks to this - he’s always saying things about how he’s not worthy of being in your presence and so on. You’ll also get compared to just about every royal fictional character he knows whenever you so much as breathe.
Satan - He’s kind of weird about the idea at first, almost to the point of being outright rude to you - he’s unsure of how to act and covers that up with his usual surly demeanour. It takes some time and work to break his hard outer shell, but once he’s got it through his thick skull that you’re not at all as bad as he assumed you’d be, his interest is piqued. He has lots of questions about the inner workings of royalty in the human world, and wants to know all about the intricacies of your family and their various dealings.
Asmodeus - He thinks it’s a super attractive quality in a person, and is immediately all over you, asking all sorts of questions about what kind of luxuries you experienced back home, how strict the rules were, that kind of thing. He’s just fascinated to know about the lavish life you must’ve lived back home, and also really wants to hear about any deep family gossip. His outfit and accessory choices when he’s shopping for you will also be tailored especially with your status  in mind.
Beelzebub - It’s all pretty much the same to him, really. His only real interest might be in what kinds of food you got to eat, the big meals you must’ve had, being royalty and all. He doesn’t treat you any differently than he would if you weren’t royalty, he’s a pretty straightforward demon for the most part.
Belphegor - He’s a little apprehensive of it at first - he expects you to be stuck up, full of yourself and not willing to listen to others (much like a certain someone else he knows), so he keeps his distance at first. It’s a pleasant surprise for him to realise that you’re far more down-to-earth than he expected. He’s pretty quiet and shy around you at first, but as time goes on he seems to open up and may even ask you questions about your rank and lifestyle.
Diavolo - He feels a special kind of connection with you from day one - he takes solace in the fact that you must’ve been through a lot of the same struggles he has and seeks to have you as one of his best friends/confidants. Though the vast population difference between the human realm and the Devildom isn’t quite something he understands, he kind of assumes that just because you’re royalty, you must have control over a large swath of the human world, with millions of subjects under your immediate command. Regardless of that, he’s really interested to hear about every detail in which your status differs from his, and will often try to pull you aside for a conversation about it - his curiosity is insatiable.
Barbatos - He defers to you in a way that’s almost comparable to how he treats Diavolo (though of course he gets priority). He’s polite almost to the point of infuriating, always waiting on you and trying to anticipate your needs before you’ve even recognised them in the first place. He fusses and preens and may sometimes even pass light judgements on things that you wear, say or do, ‘wondering’ aloud at whether certain actions would be seen as proper for human royalty, since they’re not for demons. It comes across as passive-aggressive, but he is one hundred percent sincere about it.
Simeon - He’s sort of nonchalant about your royal status - not in a rude way, but it tends to be an aspect of you that he might playfully poke fun at every now and then. It’s a point of mild interest to him, and for the sake of knowledge he’ll ask you occasional questions about things he’s curious about, and may even ask if he might be allowed to visit you some time. Though, he may get a little snippy if he thinks that someone isn’t showing you the appropriate amount of respect.
Luke - He’s not entirely sure how he should be acting around you, and thus tends to subconsciously mimic the actions of those he looks up to. It’s almost funny, watching him cycle through the behaviours of Simeon, Lucifer, Solomon, Barbatos and Beelzebub (sometimes all in one conversation), trying to get a grasp on how best to approach and speak to you. He’ll just keep doing this until you address it with him directly. When reassured (multiple times) that he’s free to act however he likes around you, he’s closer to his normal self, with his usual sense of wonderment and excitement, asking you lots of questions to try and understand you better.
Solomon - Somehow, he knows more about your family, lineage, alliances and inner political workings than you do. It’s almost uncanny, the amount of information he seemingly just has on hand about you, and it can be very off putting when someone asks you an innocent question about an ancestor of yours, only for Solomon to come swooping in with all the answers they’re looking for and then some. He doesn’t often directly ask you any questions, unless there’s a specific gap in his knowledge that he hasn’t been able to fill, so the questions he does ask get almost freakishly specific.

"character assassinate and write off her trauma" You mean something that didn't happen whatsoever? Please watch the show before you comment on it.
IDK what to say to this - asks that are basically "No, you!" are so hard to properly address.
The show literally had characters look at the camera and go: "All of our character's arcs that the show never bothered to address - don't matter because we're perfect and should never change or develop, and having doubts is evil!"
Like, the show literally made Ruby drink the dumb tea because of the trauma the show had not bothered developing or focusing on since the end of V3 - then the show proclaimed that all of that trauma doesn't matter and means nothing and should be wiped clean as if all the set-up is pointless.
V9 is one big case of the show just outright stating - "We aren't going to do anything with the characterization set-up or flaws that the show implied before as the character arcs are all over even though we haven't done anything with them."
Ruby gets told having very reasonable doubts is evil, gets neglected and treated like trash, shouted upon - her own sister favoring a writer's pet jaune over her. She then handwaves all of her issues, trauma, and mistakes and the show treats it as a positive.
Weiss literally has no character arc - she hasn't had one for years - which is hilarious as they had just destroyed her homeland, and her family is in ruins. Does Weiss look back upon it or question who she is now? Nope. Does Weiss reflect on her privilege or how her family shaped her? She hasn't during the Atlas arc, and Weiss sure doesn't in V9 - she's the comic relief now, somehow.
Blake hasn't had a character arc since her hilariously tone-deaf "burning and looting" monologue in Menagerie. V9 doesn't address her issues, the Faunus subplot, or the tension between Yang and Blake that SHOULD be there after V3.
Yang, likewise, has no character arc, too. Her issues with her mother? Not addressed. Her self-worth issues and aimlessness? Not addressed. Her relationship with her sister? Her issues with Blake leaving? Her trauma? The show has swept it all under the rug.
The characters proudly turn to the camera and say: "this doesn't matter, and the show will never focus upon any of these interesting characterization things because we are all perfect and should never change. We will now focus on this mission given to us by GOD!" - this is such a bewildering, unearned moment because nobody out of the four characters in the main cast has had any character arc or actual closure as the show has NEVER focused upon them at all.
And the writers clap.
Where's the characterization? Where's the show's FOUR LEAD CHARACTERS being treated with care and respect and given focus? Where's development and growth that has been missing since V3?
The writer's pet Jaune gets the focus. And even then all of that focus gets reset in the end because can't have the status quo change!
V9 is pointless at best and offensive and insulting at worst as far as characterization goes.
Any even remotely interesting story beats that COULD be here (Like Ruby learning of Penny's fate and actually confronting Jaune about it) are offscreened.
Oh yeah we got literally five seconds of Summer tease - something that is at least four Volumes too late and honestly I couldn't care less now because because look - Ruby's issues are solved and didn't matter - her trauma is gone now!
It's writers unintentionally flashing one huge red warning that says - "if you have followed us and stuck with the show for characterization or all the unexplained things possibly getting focus, then we hate you and don't want you here. - we will not address anything nor make characters grow. In fact we genuinely don't care about the leads and Jaune is clearly the only focus of this show now. And also we especially hate anyone with psychological trauma because trauma is not real!"
Brilliant strategy when your company is barely afloat, RT.
