Hi!! I loved your aftercare hcs! Could I do a request where the reader is babysitting Estelle for the night since Paul and Sally have gone on a date and Percy comes home and finds reader and Estelle asleep cuddled up together?
girl's night
• the reader babysits Estelle and Percy finds them asleep.
— percy jackson x mortal!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warnings: none
a/n: hello! What a nice request, I hope I did it justice. 😭 Also, thank you!
It all started with a:
— Yes, Mrs. Jackson. I'll be there, don't worry.
Because it was your chance to gain Sally Jackson's trust. People who know her know that this opportunity is like gold, something not even a god would dare mess up or decline. But beyond that (since she was practically your mother-in-law), you cared about something else: Estelle.
Your boyfriend’s little sister. She was tiny, still unsteady on her feet, but already full of energy, and you loved the idea of bonding with her from such a young age. So, that's how you ended up agreeing to babysit her for a night while Sally and Paul went out on a date, which you thought was admirable and exemplary, that romance never dies even after starting a family.
You wondered for a moment if life with Percy would be like that too. Despite his life as a demigod and the differences between how you two were raised, you could see his dream of living peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. You wanted to believe that when he talked about those hopes, you were included, and of course, you were.
You wished he could be with you, but not even Percy knew you were going to babysit Estelle. You saw him too worried about godly issues and his college graduation, even though he was on break. But you knew that life never stopped and you didn’t mind as long as he let you help, even if it was just by listening.
— Darling! — Sally Jackson exclaimed as she opened the apartment door, and you stood there, mouth agape. She looked stunning in a red dress, reminiscent of that movie "Me Before You." Paul peeked through the door while adjusting one of his funny ties.
— Mrs. Jackson — She chuckled, preferring you to call her Sally, but you couldn’t drop the formalities.
They showed you what there was to eat, talked a bit about Estelle’s schedule, but after that, they just looked at you with a confident smile.
— You'll do great, dear — Paul said, kissing Sally's forehead. You couldn’t understand how they could entrust you with their most precious thing without giving strict rules.
— Her bedtime? — The question seemed funny because they just shook their heads.
— Estelle doesn't struggle much with sleep; it’ll be obvious when she’s tired.
And when they left the apartment, you looked behind you. There she was, waving her tiny hand while giggling.
— It's just us, Estelle — You said, sitting next to her as she kept watching something on TV, something more important than your obvious nervousness.
You wondered if she would just watch the screen the whole time, if you only had to give her snacks when she got hungry and make sure she slept at a decent hour. You were pondering this when you felt a tug on your hand. You looked at her, and she was shaking some coloring pages and a worn-out crayon. Where had she gotten that? When?
She said something you wanted to interpret as, "Let's color, and you'll like it, or I'll tell everyone you're no the one for my brother." Well, maybe not, but it felt like that.
You picked her up and took her to the wooden table where the family usually had dinner, making her comfortable with some pillows to adjust her height. But even then, Estelle stood up and started coloring.
You had your own page and couldn’t remember the last time you colored, so your hand moved a bit clumsily, and being so focused, you didn’t see her hand make you go out of the lines. You looked at her, and she grinned widely, but you knew she didn’t do it on purpose; she was just calling you to see her progress, a scribbled bear with at least five different colors. You smiled genuinely and gave her a thumbs-up, which she took as the best critique of her art.
The night went like that, and you never thought such a small child could teach you so much.
When you made cookies, seeing her face reminded you of the joy in just making them, not so much eating them or how they turned out.
When you watched her favorite cartoons, you remembered what it was like to watch something without guilt or the worry that you should be doing something better or more productive.
When she decided she wanted to dance, you remembered that music could be missing, but never the attitude and good moves.
Estelle ended up holding your hand as you regularly straightened the cushions and rug, making sure nothing was too messy. When you smiled, she did too, and she didn’t let go of you all night.
Finishing up washing the dishes, you looked down to see Estelle next to your feet, sitting on the floor playing with some toys while waiting for you. You stopped to watch her for a moment, seeing so much of Sally in her, but also unmistakable traits of Paul, and in her attitude, you saw Percy. Maybe because he was her big brother after all. Estelle brought her little feet together and touched her toes, lost in whatever a child her age might be thinking when you saw her rub her eyes. That was your signal.
— Estelle — You called softly, and she looked at you with sleepy, shiny eyes. You extended your arms, and she got up to do the same, and you picked her up, rocking her, but she seemed to realize what you were trying to do.
— No — She said clearly. You were startled as she hid her face in your neck, clinging to you. You weren’t an expert, but you knew what it meant, so you sat down with her on the couch, placing her properly on your lap.
— It’s okay — You lied, feeling bad about it even though you knew you had to. You put on a new movie to make her think she’d stay awake, but your trick was to make her fall asleep, though you didn’t plan on falling asleep yourself. You hugged her and got comfortable, the best cuddle ever because she kept holding onto you as you slowly closed your eyes.
You never heard the key in the lock, the quiet footsteps on the floor, nor the warm greeting from your boyfriend, who wasn’t expecting to find you cuddled up with Estelle on the couch, sleeping soundly.
— Babe? — He asked softly, checking to see if you were really asleep. He set the keys down and took off his hoodie, dirtied from some... incidents.
His blue eyes scanned the apartment for his mom or Paul but found no sign of them, leading him to realize why you were there. He walked over to you two with quiet steps until he was face to face with an image no one could take from him. Two of his favorite people, seemingly fond of each other, filled his heart with love, and he kissed both your foreheads. Unfortunately, you woke up, and he couldn’t help but pout.
— Sorry — You mumbled, blurry-eyed and disoriented from your nap, realizing it was Percy. He was smiling, kneeling at your level.
— Percy — You murmured, rubbing your eyes and feeling another weight on your chest, going rigid as you remembered. Your boyfriend noticed your fear of waking her. He extended his arms and picked up Estelle so you could get up normally.
— Having fun without me? — He asked with his sister on his chest, rocking to keep her in the land of Hypnos. You stretched, smiling sleepily.
— There was no way to tell you — He nodded, seeing your phone on the carpet, feeling a bit bad for not being able to carry a phone to stay in touch. He often spent days away, and no one knew where he was, not even you.
— I’ll put Estelle to bed — He whispered, and you nodded, struggling to keep your eyes open in his direction, making him chuckle. Before leaving, he leaned in with his sister in his arms to kiss you.
— Be right back.
You nodded and stood to check the living room. You only had to straighten the cushions and put the chairs back in place before Percy hugged you from behind. At his touch, you hummed, feeling a wave of sleepiness brought on by the calm of having him there, finally safe.
— Hey — He greeted, still whispering, and you rested your head on his shoulder, giving him enough space to plant a warm kiss on your neck. With no immediate response from you, he held you tighter and kissed your cheek, wanting to support you so you didn’t have to put in so much effort.
— I’m okay — You said, realizing what he was trying to do, but he quickly lifted you bridal style, making his way back to the couch.
— Shh, I’ll take care of you. — He soothed while sitting with you, and you wrapped your arms around him, sharing your sleepiness. You rested your head on his chest, and he pulled the blanket from the corner to cover you both.
You sighed calmly, almost falling asleep when you sniffed your boyfriend's shirt once, twice, three times. Groggy, you kissed his cheek and whispered in his ear
— You smell like monster, Percy Jackson — He smiled, and you mirrored it.
— Things got tough — He said slowly, resting his cheek on your head, almost stumbling over words.
— Hmm — You hummed starting to fall asleep, and you both did it.

luke castellan x fem!reader
warnings: betrayal, reader’s kinda blinded by love but also kinda cute, little fluff at the end
reminder: english’s not my first language so I apologize for any spelling mistakes
₊˚⊹♡
Thirteen wasn't exactly the age you pictured discovering you were a demigod. Apparently, you had blissfully –or maybe obliviously— muddled through your first thirteen years completely oblivious to the mythological world that simmered just beneath your feet.
Your life had been a quiet one. Growing up in a sleepy seaside town, the rhythmic crash of waves against the shore was the soundtrack to your existence. You felt a weird connection to the water, an inexplicable pull towards the ocean whenever you stood on the beach. But you attributed that to nothing more than a love for swimming and a healthy dose of wanderlust, you thought.
Then came the satyr. Grover Underwood, a nervous wreck of a creature with a perpetually startled expression. You don´t remember much about your life back then, just the way he stammered through an explanation about Greek myths being real, your parentage being linked to a god, and the pressing need for you to get to a safe haven called Camp Half-Blood.
And now here you were. Years went by, living at Camp Half-Blood, and being the only child of Poseidon.
Camp was always bustled with activity. Laughter echoed across the training fields, campers sparred with celestial bronze swords. Yet, amidst the chaos, a subtle sense of loneliness lingered around you. You weren't friendless, not by any stretch of the imagination. You had a close circle of friends, but there was a specific kind of lonely feeling that came with being the only child of Poseidon at camp, a forbidden child.
The other cabins, they all teemed with siblings. —mostly—. Shared history, inside jokes, and the comfort of knowing someone else understood exactly what it meant to have the same god for a parent – these were things you craved. There was a gap, a yearning for a familial connection that none of your friends could fully fill.
Then came Percy.
His arrival at camp was nothing short of spectacular. A blue-eyed twelve-year-old with a knack for attracting trouble. During a particularly intense Capture the Flag game, Annabeth, a sharp-tongued daughter of Athena with a strategic mind, shoved Percy into the lake. The air crackled with gasps and surprises as a shimmering green trident materialized above Percy´s head, claiming him for Poseidon.
The revelation sent a jolt through you. You, the solitary child of the sea god, suddenly had a sibling. Percy looked up at you with wide, startled eyes, a mixture of awe and apprehension playing on his face. It was like looking into a mirror reflecting a younger version of yourself, the same confusion etched on his features.
Percy looked up to you with a hero-worship that both amused and touched you. He saw in you a reflection of his own mother, Sally Jackson, with her kindness and unwavering belief in the good in others. You became his confidante, his guide through the intricate social landscape of Camp Half-Blood.
But you weren't the only one who welcomed Percy. Luke, your closest friend at camp, was equally happy for your newfound family, —or so he faked it very well. Percy quickly found himself asking you both all the questions he had and spending all his training session´s with Luke.
You and Luke were a natural fit. Both of you skilled warriors, blessed with the agility of Hermes and the raw power of the sea. You sparred together often, your movements a dance of attack and parry, a language only the two of you seemed to understand. Your laughter echoed through the camp, and more than once, you caught Percy or other campers shooting you hesitant glances, not really knowing what your relationship was about, a thin line between friends love and-, other type of love, drawn in between.
And yes, Luke loved you, and you loved him. So much, that´d you´d be able to do anything for each other. Little did Percy know.
The metallic clang of your celestial bronze sword echoed through the silent woods, a jarring counterpoint to the chirping of nocturnal crickets. Percy, his breath ragged and sweat stinging his eyes, pushed back against Luke's relentless assault. Betrayal gnawed at his gut, a viper coiling tighter with every parry and thrust.
Luke, his once friendly face twisted with a manic fervor, pressed the attack. Every word that left his lips was a fresh wound: about the Olympians' manipulation, about the power promised by Kronos, about how this wasn't meant to betray him, or anyone.
Suddenly, the clang of steel meeting steel ceased. Percy stumbled back, his heart hammering in his chest, as Luke lowered his sword. A flicker of hope, fragile and fleeting, ignited within him.
"Percy," Luke said, his voice quieter now, a hint of desperation creeping in. "This is not what you want, trust me. Last chance."
Percy stared at him, the hope dying as quickly as it had flickered. How could Luke even suggest such a thing, joining him? Didn't he understand the consequences?
Before he could retort, a new figure emerged from the shadows of the trees behind Luke. His breath caught in his throat, eyes twitching as he tried his best to focus on the figure coming from the forest. You.
A flicker of relief washed over Percy as he saw you emerge from the shadows. "yn” he called out, hope blossoming in his chest.
You stepped into the scene, moonlight casting an ethereal glow on your features. But something was off. You weren't rushing to his side, face etched with concern as it usually was. Instead, you stood there, a strange stillness cloaking you.
"Percy" you finally said, your voice cool and controlled, lacking it´s usual warmth.
Confusion warred with the relief. "yn" he repeated, his voice unsteady. "Clarisse didn't – it was him" he stammered, pointing at Luke with his sword. "He stole the bolt. He's joining Kronos"
Percy expected outrage, surprise, anything. Instead, your expression remained unreadable. A shadow flickered across your face, but it was gone as quickly as it came.
"I know what he did" you replied simply. The calmness in your voice sent a shiver down his spine. The casualness of your reply was scary. It was like you were talking about the weather, not a world-shattering betrayal.
There was something wrong. Terribly wrong.
"Then help me" he pleaded, a desperate edge creeping into his voice.
You met his gaze for a long, agonizing moment. Percy saw a flicker of something weird in your eyes, something that made your pupils blown. But then, it was gone, replaced by a fire that mirrored Luke's.
A slow realization dawned on him, cold and heavy in his gut. You weren't surprised. You weren't angry. You knew.
Percy's heart hammered against his ribs. He saw the familiar hilt of your celestial bronze sword hanging loosely at your belt, the moonlight glinting off the polished metal.
"Percy, I can't do that" you said, your voice barely a whisper.
Percy understood then. You weren't caught in the middle. You weren´t with him, you were with Luke, all the way. The truth slammed into him, a betrayal far worse than anything he could have imagined. You were a traitor.
Percy felt like you'd ripped open a fresh wound in his chest and poured lemon juice in it. This sister, this family he'd thought he'd found at camp, meant nothing to you in the face of this rebellion? The anger coursing through him was laced with a bitter disappointment that gnawed at his insides. He'd trusted Luke blindly, sure, but you were different. He'd looked up to you, confided in you. The betrayal cut deep.
"You're with him?" he choked out, the question laced with disbelief and a raw, wounded vulnerability. He couldn´t wrap his mind around it.
"I'm not with him, Percy" you countered, taking a hesitant step forward. He flinched back, the movement a physical manifestation of the emotional chasm that had suddenly opened between you. The pain that flickered across your face was a punch to his gut, but he couldn't ignore the conviction in your voice. "We're together" you continued. "We created this."
Percy couldn't believe what he was hearing. You were so convinced, so blinded by whatever twisted loyalty you felt for Luke, that you couldn't see the bigger picture. "How could you?" he roared, his voice raw with emotion. "How could you do this, to everyone who trusts you? To the people who love you?"
You scoffed, a harsh, humorless sound. "Come on, Percy, you want to talk about betrayal? Let's talk about our father." The words hung heavy in the air, a challenge laden with bitterness. A sudden breeze swept through the woods, rustling the leaves and carrying the salty scent of the ocean as if a wave had crashed nearby. It seemed like even the sea itself reacted to your words.
"Let's talk about the gods" you pressed, your voice laced with a bitter venom. "They get bored at the Olympus, so they play their pretty games, making mortals fall for them and then discarding them like broken toys. Mortals like your mom, like mine. And they leave us, their children, to pick up the pieces."
Percy groaned in frustration. "They're not perfect" he admitted, "they're trying their best for us"
"Don't bullshit me" you say. The calmer your voice was, the more fear Percy felt. "I don’t wanna fight, Percy, but they couldn´t care less”
Luke´s face partially obscured by the shadows, but the jagged scar across his cheek was visible under the moonlight. It was a constant reminder of the failed quest Hermes had sent him on, a cruel mark of a father's neglect.
Percy's gaze flicked between you and Luke, a sudden understanding dawning on him. Your words, your anger, your sadness. It wasn't just about Kronos or overthrowing the Olympians. It was about a deeper wound, a festering resentment born from years of feeling abandoned by your father, his father too. He understood, but he didn´t think it was right.
"But you can't be serious" he finally choked out. "This isn't the answer. There has to be another way."
A flicker of sadness crossed your features, a stark contrast to the steely resolve you'd presented earlier. It was a fleeting glimpse, a crack in the facade you'd constructed, and it tugged at Percy's heartstrings. No, it wasn't jealousy or envy. It was a deeper, more profound sense of loss. You weren't angry at him for having a father who cared just a little bit, for having a family he cherished. You were simply… sad. Sad that you never had that, that your only family was Luke, and that his arrival, however welcome it initially felt, couldn't erase the years of loneliness you'd endured.
Percy´s eyes darted behind you, to Luke.
"Why are you dragging her into this?" Percy demanded, his voice tight with a mixture of anger and protectiveness. He knew you weren't the mastermind, Luke was the one who had poisoned your trust, manipulated your resentment.
"It's not that hard to understand, Percy" you answered before Luke could speak. Your voice held a quiet defiance, a loyalty that both warmed and stung him. "We're together" you repeated, the words laced with a quiet strength that resonated deep within him.
Then it hit him, another wave of realization crashing over him like a rogue wave. It wasn't just loyalty or a shared cause that bound you to Luke. There was something more, something deeper that flickered in your eyes whenever you looked at him.
"You love him" Percy whispered, the words hanging heavy in the air. And it wasn´t a question either, he knew.
A faint blush crept up your cheeks, but you didn't deny it. "We understand each other, Percy. We know what it's like to be unseen, unheard. Isn't that what love is? Empathy, understanding?"
A tear escaped your eye, glistening in the moonlight. Percy could see the pain, the longing in your eyes, how you clinged to the only thing that hugged you back; Luke.
“You’re blind” Percy whispered, hand instinctively groping to the handle of his sword.
"No, Percy" you countered, your voice soft but firm. "I'm awake. I see things for what they are. You know what it feels like, right? To have one person who understands you, who truly sees you" you continued. Your voice softened even further, a hint of vulnerability entering the equation. "Sally, isn't it?"
He flinched at the mention of his mother's name.
"That's love, P." you said, using the nickname you'd once shared. The sound of it sent a fresh wave of tears threatening to spill from his eyes, mirroring the glistening in your own. "And to me, to us" you continued, your voice barely above a whisper, "that's the most powerful thing."
Percy saw the love for Luke burning bright in your eyes, a love that had blinded you to the potential destruction you were embracing. He saw the pain of neglect, the longing for acceptance that fueled your rebellion. But most of all, he saw a glimmer of hope, a flicker of doubt that your tear-filled eyes betrayed.
The weight of your words settled on Percy like a lead blanket. He understood the path you were on, but he couldn't just let you walk away, couldn't let you be consumed by this darkness. The thought of ever having to fight you, to raise his sword against his own sister, filled him with a dread that eclipsed even the fear of facing Kronos himself.
With a desperate surge of defiance, Percy lunged at you, Riptide flashing in the moonlight. You reacted with lightning reflexes, a blur of blue as you deflected his attack with your own celestial bronze sword. The clang of metal echoed through the silent woods, a discordant note in the tense atmosphere.
The fight was short, brutal, and utterly one-sided. You were older, more experienced, and fueled by a burning conviction that mirrored Percy's own determination. A quick twist of your wrist, a disarming maneuver honed through years of training, and Riptide clattered to the ground several feet away.
Percy landed hard on the leaf-strewn ground, the impact knocking the wind out of him. He lay there, disarmed, defeated, and utterly heartbroken. Betrayal gnawed at him, a bitter cocktail of anger and sorrow.
A single tear escaped your eye, tracing a glistening path down your cheek. You knelt down beside him, your touch surprisingly gentle on his shoulder. "Percy," you said, your voice thick with emotion, "you're my brother. I don´t wanna leave you”
Percy looked up at you, his eyes red-rimmed and filled with a storm of conflicting emotions. "Then why?" he choked out, his voice hoarse. "Why are you doing this?"
"Come with me” you continued, your voice softening further. “Come with us, Percy”
A long silence stretched between them, punctuated only by the chirping of crickets and the rustling of leaves in the night breeze.
"I can't, yn" he said, his voice firm despite the tremor that ran through him. "I won't be a part of this, it´s not fair."
A flicker of pain crossed your features. You rose to your feet then, your expression unreadable again.
A curt nod was your only response before you swiped a hand across your cheek, wiping away the traitorous tear. Bending down, you retrieved your celestial bronze sword, the moonlight glinting coldly off its surface.
"Then I guess I won't see you for a while, little one" you said, your voice thick with a maelstrom of emotions. Percy almost flinched at the nickname, a stark reminder of the bond you once shared. The weight of his decision pressed down on him, a suffocating feeling that left him breathless.
Suddenly, a hand clamped softly onto your arm. You whipped around, eyes focusing on Luke, his face grim.
"We have to go" he said urgently, his voice laced with a barely concealed panic.
You glanced back at Percy, his expression a mixture of heartbreak and steely resolve. A million unspoken words hung heavy in the air, a silent plea for you to reconsider, to choose family over rebellion.
But your path was laid. With a final, longing look at Percy, you took a few steps towards a cluster of crumbling ruins that stood there sentinel. Luke reached for your hand, his grip tight with a mix of reassurance and desperation.
Percy watched, a cold dread settling in his gut, as Luke traced a final line, completing the arcane symbol etched onto the column. The air shimmered, a blueish light pooling in the center of the ruins. It widened, forming a shimmering curtain that pulsed with an otherworldly energy.
Luke leaned in, whispering something in your ear. You nodded, a faint smile gracing your lips for a fleeting moment. Then Luke, his face a mask of grim determination, looked back at Percy for a final time. And with a final squeeze of his hand, you both stepped into the shimmering portal. The blue light intensified for a moment, blinding Percy momentarily.
And then just like that, you were gone.
The portal spat you out in a blackness so thick it felt like a physical presence. The air was heavy with the smell of salt and wet sand. You stumbled forward, disoriented, hand instinctively tightening on Luke's. His grip was firm, anchoring you in the swirling darkness.
"Whoa, careful" he murmured, his voice a welcome sound in the suffocating silence.
He took a tentative step forward, then another, testing the ground. You followed suit, your steps hesitant and laced with a growing unease.
"Come on" he said, his voice tinged with urgency, "we gotta get to-"
He cut himself off abruptly as he realized you weren't moving. You stood rooted to the spot, your eyes fixed on something beyond him, your grip on his hand tightening almost painfully.
Luke turned you gently, his brow furrowed in concern as he gazed into your tear-filled eyes. The moonlight, pale and ghostly, illuminated the glistening tracks on your cheeks.
"Baby, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice soft but laced with worry. He cupped your face in his calloused hands, his touch a familiar comfort in the unsettling darkness.
You choked back a sob, the tears overflowing again. "Am I doing the right thing, Luke?" you whispered, your voice barely audible above the crashing waves. "I lost my family, again. Percy. He doesn’t-…”
The raw pain in your voice tore at his heart. He knew this path, this rebellion, would come at a cost, but seeing the emotional toll it was taking on you was a gut punch.
"Hey, hey, look at me" he coaxed, gently lifting your chin so your eyes met his. His gaze was steady, filled with a fierce loyalty that had always been a source of strength for you.
"We were on this path way before Percy arrived, remember?" he asked, his voice firm yet soothing.
You nodded slowly, a single tear tracing a path down your cheek.
"I need you to be strong for me, angel” he continued, his thumb brushing away the tear. "You´re what keeps me going."
He placed a tender kiss on your forehead. "I'll give you everything" he murmured, his voice a low promise. "I promise I'll give you the life you deserve"
Then, he trailed a line of kisses down your cheek, his lips lingering on yours in a final, lingering and sweet kiss.
It was meant to be a reassurance, but it sent a wave of conflicting emotions crashing through you. There was comfort in his touch, a flicker of the love you shared, but it was overshadowed by a gnawing doubt.
When you finally pulled back, a shaky breath escaping your lips, Luke took your hand, his touch gentle yet firm. He looked out at the vast expanse of ocean, then scanned the horizon.
You followed his gaze, squinting through the darkness. A faint flicker of white lights danced in the distance, a beacon in the vast blackness.
"Come on" he said, his voice tinged with newfound purpose. "We gotta get to the cruise."

you placed your bowl into the sink of Sally's and Paul's apartment, attempting not to make much ruckus with the other dishes in the sink. you felt percy come up behind you, him alerting you of his presence by placing a gental hand on the small of your back. "hey you," he mumbled lightly, resting his head on your shoulder.
"hi hon," you replied, eyes roaming over the dishes from the wonderfully cooked meal sally made earlier. "d'you want me to do the dishes? it's the least i can do," you asked, feeling bad and not wanting sally to do dishes after cooking.
percy shook his head and breathed out a chuckle. "you don't need to, baby. mom n paul have a system set up: if she cooks he cleans, vise versa." he explained, hands now around your waist.
you hummed lightly in thought. "sounds like a good system," you said, turning around so your face was practically shoved into percys' chest. "they remind me a lot of my parents," you mused.
you felt percy tilt his head to the side. "yeah?" he asked, brining his face down to press a kiss to your hairline. "how?" he asked; tone filled with love and warmth.
"i guess, just how they act around eachother," you mused. "like each other is all they need in the world," you countined, putting your ear over where his heart was and listened to the steady beats.
"they are pretty cute, aren't they?" he says more like a statement rather than a question. "y'know, sally said that when she first saw us together, we reminded her of her and paul," he countined, smiling fondly at the memory.
"really?" you asked, one of your hands rubbing slow circles on percys back.
percy hummed. "yeah," before he could say anything else, sallys voice cut through the peaceful aura that had been created in the kitchen; her asking if the two of you were ready to watch a movie.
you breathed out a small laugh, and you shouted back to her, saying you could be in the living room in a minute. you made a motion to leave the embrace, but percy had other thoughts. "wait, don't pull away..not yet," he mumbled as he pressed yet another kiss into your hairline.
"perce, the movie is probably ready to play," you laughed as he only pulled you closer to him.
"we can make popcorn in here," he said, removing one arm from around you; but keeping the other arm securely around your waist. he reached up into the cabins and quickly grabbed a bag of microwave popcorn.
"mom! we're making popcorn, d'you n paul want a bag?"

WOTTG SPOILERS AFTER THE CUT
.
.
.
Can you believe Rick is validating me in my Percy-is-the-most-empathic-character take? I have legal basis but boi does it feel nice to have canon confirmation.
Second that book was short af I got the gist of it all while reading for like an hour.
Third, we addressed everyone else’s trauma. Percy’s still the group therapist LMAO 😭😭😭
Fourth, my son is such a good kid yall, this is why I lose five years of my life when someone insults or when he insults himself jfc my child.
Im honestly still processing and I have to reread the ending. Did it address Percy’s issues? Im going to go with “a bit” and call it a night. I mean, I guess it did? Percy got to unload and help Gale and Hecuba. We got an insight to how he’s managing to stay up and fighting and good despite all the shit he’s put into. Honestly the fact that he saw the humanity in Gale and Hecuba, that he saw their pain and grief and thats what made them trust him, that is so good. And the way he related to them. Goodness. And it highlights again how good a person he is, how much he feels and cares. I mean, he cried cause he had to send Mrs O Leary away, I cant with this kid-
I supposed what Im left unsatisfied with is how he still perceives himself as dumb? Baby, you survived San Fran for two months as a homeless kid without memories and pursued by different monsters who cant die. Youre the furthest thing from dumb.
He cant see this of course and while it was slightly addressed(?) by Annabeth telling him to his face that she doesnt give him enough credit, that he’s pretty smart, I dont think thats enough for addressing this particular issue. There was a time in the middle that he almost snapped because he thought Annabeth probably thinks him too dumb to know what to do next. Which I understand is frustrating to him. But to be fair this book made him look at Annabeth for a solution a lot. Theres also little comments about how when he cant think of anything - which is every 60 seconds apparently according to him- he looks at Annabeth. This doesnt help the co dependent allegations LMAO. Idk, I will die on the Hill that Percy is one of the smartest people in the series, not just emotionally but also in strategy. And theres, of course, nothing wrong with looking at the genius strategist for answers. Ive mixed feelings because definitely this is more of a Percy-insecurity issue than an Annabeth-being-bossy issue. But okay. One more book, heres to hoping we get more heart to heart on that front because Im 999998% sure she doesnt mean to make him feel stupid, Percy’s just got a lot of demons to fight but this in particular they need to figure out together. Still, its obvious how much they care for each other still. If only Dave and Hana did not piss me off at the start Id probably be a little more lenient about this.
Annabeth’s fatal flaw also makes a comeback, we love to see it.
And Sally Estelle Jackson. Now we have to find out wth is Percy’s middle name cause if Sally has one odds are she gave her son too. Trust me. Im Filipino. Iykyk.
Lastly, while I will forever and ever and ever support the trio from pjotv (theyre perfect and have done nothing wrong ever) I can see Rick’s injecting their personalities into the books. Im not sure if he does this on purpose or just subconsciously LMAO. Some of Grover’s dialogue is definitely inspired by Aryan. Percy being Lanky? Walker through and through, especially with his growth spurt lmao, and Annabeth’s confidence? All Leah. I can see what Rick’s trying to do. Ive no opinion on this, just pointing it out. I do love love love the live action. Just. I can see you Rick. You aint slick.
So there. I probably would need to reread the book properly at some point.

First of the bat, let me say this as a disclaimer. I love the og Percy Jackson series. Secondly, my fav character is Nico and then the Percy from the og series.
Do you know why I make this distinction? Because, Heroes of Olympus ruined Percy's basic characteristics.
Just think, this is the percy who was bullied in almost every school he attended (except, maybe, Goode). Even, camp half blood, till he came back from the first quest. This is the guy with so strong a sense of loyalty that he was willing to get into trouble with the teachers for Grover when they studied together, was willingly an outcast because he would rather be friends with the one guy everyone picked on and thus be bullied himself. He was pretty excited to have a brother once he got over the whole Cyclops thing, too. This is the same guy who spent all his free time looking for a runaway kid who said he hated him. Maybe it was out of misplaced guilt. Maybe it was due to the fact this guy big brothered everyone he could get away with. (Atleast, I felt like that.)
While we're on that issue. Was Nico right to blame Percy for Bianca's death? Absolutely, not. But he was also a grieving ten year old who just lost his only family (even though she had, in a way, already left him behind. But that's an entirely different rant on the Hunters as an institutions. Bianca was also a child, remember.). And considering that Nico changed his tune once he found the truth out and even helped Percy and the camp willingly afterwards, I like to think he more than made up for that mistake.
There's even a part where Percy refuses to burden Nico with the prophesy and claims it for himself. Considering that till then he was trying not to even think about it, I believe we can easily claim that Nico was in some ways important to Percy. Maybe not in the same way his Mom, Annabeth Or Grover was to him, but still an important person.
Then we have in the last Olympian, Percy using Nico as an example why Children of Hades shouldn't be treated as Pariahs. Because if not for him and the reinforcements his powers brought (not even counting the three whole deities he brought along) the casualties would have been higher. (It was Hades who locked Percy up. He even confirms that Nico hadn't had a clue. Nico in turn broke him out and got himself in trouble. Then in a turn of events, Percy starts to blame Nico for something that wasn't in his control. A reversal of roles so to speak. I had thought that it had been momentary anger on Percy's part, but apparently considering all the references to how Nico betrayed him in the HoO, it wasn't. He'd pushed it aside momentarily, it seems.)
Percy was not to blame for what happened to Nico in the original series. Life isn't fair and it just happened to be extra unfair to Nico. Even then Percy went out of his way to look after the kid, to make sure he had a safe space.
This is the Percy who I liked. The Son of Neptune only emphasised this. Even without his memories, he took Hazel and to a lesser extent Frank under his wings. He actually recognised Nico in a vague way. Not just Annabeth (which is something else I have beef with. What about his mother? Why didn't he remember Sally till a lot later and even then he didn't let her know he was safe till a lot later?)
Then comes the Mark of Athena. He apparently told so many horror stories to the 7 that there was a debate on whether or not they should save a 13 year old demigod, the brother to one of them, from a preventable death. This wasn't like the Titan war were demigods could be the enemy. Then why was there even a debate? It's like all that loyalty disappeared. This is the guy that was once bullied at every school he's attended. Doesn't he know the impact of telling tales when people aren't there to defend themselves? To tell the whole story? Then House of Hades. Every single person in that ship thought that Nico was spooky, creepy whatever and all that poor kid was doing was exist. He made himself scarce, barely spoke unless necessary and even then they were like ew, creepy. It's like Percy's personal loyalty became loyalty to just Annabeth. Fuck whatever happens to anyone else. It upsets me.
The later books ruined Percy as a character. And I will stand by this.

My thoughts on Percy Jackson as someone who is reading it for the first time (i’m on the Last Olympian) spoilers ahead!!!
- Past Nico would absolutely lose it meeting Present Nico. He’d be like strong emo boy? I lov him.
- Clarisse and Thalia have kissed at some point. They never spoke of it again.
- I love Sally Jackson. I’m waiting for her to have a seen where she grabs a sword and just cuts down a mf for her son. stab Kronos in the foot Sally! You got it bbg!
- Tyson tries to teach himself how to sew and makes a pegasus plushie for Percy. Nonnegotiable. He stabs himself in the fingers, has to get help from a crowd of cyclopes.
- Zoe is baby. Shoulda been better protected, deserves her place in the stars
- Dionysus has a stick up his ass or smth bro calm down why is your enemy a child. Same with Ares
- Percy coming back to find that Grover is dating a bush is fucking hilarious
- Percy seeing Aphrodite and saying she looked like Annabeth? Top tier.
- Also, I know Percabeth is the THING but him and Rachel was kinda cute
- Percy, dyslexic, solemnly reading the prophecy INCORRECTLY to a room of other dyslexics is just….Chiron, darling,,,,read it out loud or smth. Spare the poor boy
- OH MY GODS AND the way Annabeth said she’d heard it when she was ten and had had nightmares ever since??? Gurl literally admitted she had dreamed of Percy dying and it scared her real bad for YEARS
- There’s literally no way the prophecy actually means Percy permanently dies. Someone else does, or he does and then is reborn. There’s no way he just dies in five days
- bro has no chance against Kronos, why does he keep trying to stab him and then acts surprised when his sword just bounces off the Titan’s skin??
- ADHD does NOT help with battle sense. I speak as an ADHD who was tried MMA. It did not work out. These halfbloods are fucking lying.
- Why no Persephone children? I wanna be a Persephone child
- Grover shoulda become the next diety of the wild, or just a part of it, something stronger and magical tho
- Poseidón and Percy calling Paul Mr.Blowfish. That’s it. They’re twin dumbos
- Oh and that lil bitchy boy that corrects Poseidon all “I’m Poseídons son and HEIR” no. he’s a no. doesn’t exist. nasty.
- Luke is a no. Why do people like him?

AU it’s Percy’s birthday, everyone is there, Jason is alive, and Leo can’t stop staring at him. Sally Jackson notices and pulls Leo aside to have a comforting talk.
“Leo, will you help me in the kitchen?” Mrs. Jackson asked. Leo, who was watching as Jason laughed at something Hazel said, forced himself to pull his eyes away.
“Of course!” he exclaimed and quickly went over to her. The two of them walked into the kitchen and Leo, who loved being in any kitchen, grew excited. “What do you need, Mrs. Jackson?”
“I’ve told you, Leo, calling me Sally is perfectly fine.”
Leo grinned sheepishly.
“I wanted to you about something that’s been on my mind,” she continued. “And I don’t want to make you uncomfortable either.”
“I doubt you could,” Leo assured. He hadn’t admitted to anyone, but Mrs. Jackson was someone Leo grew attached to. Being in multiple foster homes where the mother figures weren’t reliable or supportive, meeting Mrs. Jackson who welcomed Leo with open arms (literally) had been unbelievable.
She had the ability to get Leo to open up when no else could. It sometimes scared him when he found himself being honest about his feelings to her. But he knew he wasn’t being judged. Not in the slightest.
“You and Jason are close, aren’t you?”
Leo could feel his face heat up. “Yeah?” He gazed away, suddenly more interested in the ceiling than Mrs. Jackson.
The topic of Jason was a major no. Leo was well aware of his feelings towards his best friend. It pained him every time he thought of it. It wasn’t fair his heart yearned for someone who he knew he could never have.
He wished Jason was a girl. It’d be easier to accept his feelings toward him. Being in love with the person you care for the most is one thing. Them being a the same gender as you makes it worse.
“Leo, you’re not the best at hiding your feelings,” she said softly.
He tried to laugh it off. “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
“Leo,” she said sternly, but with a comforting smile on her face. “There’s no point in lying to me.”
“Mrs. Jackson, I seriously don’t know what you’re talking about—“
“Not everyone in your life has been kind to you, Leo.” Her smile turned into one filled with sympathy. “But you have people who will accept you now.”
“I…” Leo felt lost for words. It took him a moment to asked in a whisper, “how could you be okay with what I am?”
“It’s not what you are. It’s who you are.” She pulled him into an unexpected hug. Leo immediately melted in it. “I’m not a monster.”
Leo burried his face in her chest and took a deep breath. “I love him.”
“I know you do, honey.” Her hand rested in his hair and it made Leo remember his mamá doing the same thing. “It’ll be okay.”

That moment when after weeks of TMNT brainrot, you get hit with sudden Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus brainrot and now your thoughts are genderfluid Percy and nonbinary Nico and a hell of a lot of headcanons. Now I'm sharing some.
Thats all my mind is now. Along with gnc Leo who will wear literally anything, Percabeth wearinf matching dresses, Piper and Nico friendship. Percy steals Annabeth's clothes cause they're similar in height and stature due to training. Piper lends Nico some of her clothes wgen Nico first comes out cause Nico is wary about buying their own fem-type clothes at first due to internalized transphobia(this is helped by Will and their friends supporting them unconditionally).
Its all demigods. And Zeus bein a dick, and only calling Percy and Nico he/him. But hey, at least Poseidon and Hades are trying!
Another headcanon, despite Triton claiming to hate his half-sibling he always seems to have a sense as to what pronouns Percy is using whenever he visits Atlantis and he always gets Percy's pronouns right. And whenever Percy switches midday, Amphitrite makes a point to make sure Poseidon knows and doesn't fuck it up. (we need more of Percy getting along with his seafam. Give me nice step-mother Amphitrite and protective half-brother Triton)
I have so many things to say.
Percy, Nico, and Thalia go thrifting together to get new clothes. They choose thrifting cause: 1.None of them like Hot Topic or Spencer's prices or stuff, it just isn't exactly what they like, 2.Thrifting allowing them to also pick up stuff for their friends as well, 3.It's easier to find actual vintage type clothes when thrifting and easier to diy some other clothes they find. All in all, the three of them just find a lot more when thrifting than compared to anywhere else.
Sally hosts monthly Big Three Kid sleepovers and monthly "The Seven + others" sleepovers. She and Paul love having demigods over and have given both of their phone numbers and the home phone number to Chiron incase any Campers(especially Percy's friends)need a quiet/safe space. She sends containers of blue cookies to all of Percy's closest friends on their birthdays.
Clarisse and Percy friendship!! They respect eachother and have friendly spars often. And if they send eachother Birthday and Christmas gifts? No one has to know, it would ruin their rivalry setup! Except everyone knows they do respect eachother.
This is all for now. Might post more headcanons and maybe even drawing later on.

Triton never gave much thought to his bastard half-brother. Not after their first meeting. It was supposed to be an easy job to lend a helping hand as a favor to one of his oldest friends. It also worked out perfectly because Triton needed a small break. He did not expect to meet the demigod that had the divine world wound up.

They are so similar in their instinct even when they are different. It's strange, especially to an outsider who happens to know that they didn't grow up together, because looking at them now - clashing but together, a force to be reckoned with - he wouldn't have been able to tell. When people touched him, they usually flinched and took a few steps back. Some got really pale in the face and once, a teacher had fainted after grabbing his arm. He didn’t really get why, other people never seemed to have the problem, but that was just another way he was special. The only person that ever really touched him was his mom, but even she was hesitant and he knew she hurt just as much as everyone else. It was his fault. His freaky body. It felt unfair, kind of, that so many kids had these traits, but only Percy was debilitated by them. He wanted a hug. He wanted to high-five Grover and give Annabeth a fist-bump. Hell, he couldn’t even train normally, because his opponents couldn’t touch him. It made him hate himself. Hate his Dad. Hate the fates. -- Percy had returned from the stupid quest with Annabeth and had stupidly touched the statue, leaving him gasping on the ground, as a coldness like never before spread through his entire body. Distantly, he could hear Annabeth shout and try to touch him, but he hurriedly rolled away, she couldn’t touch him! or: Percy inherits some fun blowfish traits and when trouble comes, he has to turn to his family for help

Not that a single thing in the past few minutes made much of any sense. Firstly Percy never prayed to him, so hearing him do so filled the god with trepidation. Despite whatever situation he thought he would find the demigod in, not for a moment did the messenger even consider that his brother would be lying face first in a bathtub, one foot hooked over the edge of the tub, and the other wedged in the corner. As it turns out, when a demigod rejects their godly parent’s domain with such vehemence, the god and their child could become entirely severed from one another. There was little knowledge on the matter, the bottom line seemed to be that if the two did not mend the sever, Perseus would slowly fade away and die, step by step loosing more and more of himself as his soul desperately tried to mend the gaping hole in itself. Triton couldn't even imagine. The most terrifying concept to him was piece by piece loosing what made him who he was. To have parts of oneself ripped from one's very soul until they remain a husk of what they once were, there were scarcely worse things.

The lady at the counter curiously glanced over before lifting a questioning brow. “My brother – half-brother, technically, I have much better breeding – decided to run away from home to where our father can’t reach him and now he won’t leave. And now I can’t leave unless he leaves,” Triton continued. Percy opened his mouth to object that wasn’t what happened at all, but the tyrant only waved a hand to silence him. “He’s seen war or whatever, so if you could maybe just drug him then I’ll throw him into a suitcase and we can be out of here by the Summer Solstice!” Silence. Finally, the woman cleared her throat and turned to Percy. “I’m guessing he’s the one you want checked into the mental hospital?” She asked. Triton gasped as Percy punched the air in victory. “Aha!” Or: Getting in trouble works a little differently when your parent is an all-powerful god. I'm gonna be projecting a lot with this one but-
I wished Rick would've explored family dynamics/relationships more.
Specifically, about the dead.
There is a few times were Rick brushes on family that isn't just character's parents that are dead/ never really able to meet a character.
One in relation to characters we've met- Hazel and Bianca.
I seen some mention I believe idea of "mourning someone you never met" with Hazel. But I think it isn't just cause she struggles with feeling she's just a replacement to her.
I think would've been interesting see her grappling with the fact that she has a sister she'll never meet.
Bianca isn't just Nico's sister, though of course their connection is stronger blood wise, but she's also Hazel's.
A sister she never met. Who she knows died why she's in the underworld. I think would've been interesting to see her have moments where she wished she got to know her. Where she craves that bond.
And think could be even more interesting to pair that with the Sammy and Leo situation.
Leo likely grew up hearing a lot about his family, including Sammy. Maybe even his mother mentioning that he's sometimes like him.
I think would've been interesting if that was one the stories he clung to on the run. His aunt wanted nothing to do with him, his mom was gone, and high likely lot of his other family members were gone too before then.
Maybe he clung to those stories in a sense to feel he's still connected to his family?
Than he meets Hazel, who unlike Leo had much more time with Sammy. Who looks at him and see Sammy first.
I think that could've made interesting interactions. Either he even more so hangs out with her to hear about Sammy. Or maybe he has a tiny sense of resentment. That someone he hardly knows got to know Sammy more than just through stories.
Again, mourning someone you never met.
I think it actually was a missed opportunity. Hazel lives in the shadow of Bianca's death, why Leo lives in the shadow of Sammy's. Both grappling with that. That been part of how their friendship is intertwined. It isn't just one sided "you look like a guy I was close with/ might've dated" but also "You got to know someone in my family I grew up wishing for a connection to."
In a similar vain,I wish we got more of Percy thinking about his mortal family.
We learn about his grandparents and great uncle in the first book. That Sally's parents died in a plane crash. Yet despite that it doesn't really go much further other than Estelle being named after Sally's mom.
Percy's fear of flying, which we somewhat see in tlt, is mainly based on Zeus.
But think that at least his grandparents being in his thoughts as well would've made sense.
I think it would've been a cool comparison to have his feelings on his grandparents and great uncle, who he heard plenty about but never met, be clashed with his thoughts on his immortal family.
Jim and Estelle were kind and helpful couple,Sally was young when they died but likely still had some fond memories. And what she didn't know her uncle might've told her.
Percy already struggles between his mortal and immortal sides in his life. Usually represented with Rachel.
But imagine part of that being his crave to have known his mortal grandparents and great-uncle. To recognize that part of him.
He's Sally Jackson's son, Jim and Estelle Jackson's grandson. That's still apart of him.
Actually, given how the show seems to be focusing on family in terms of the gods, I think that would be interesting to explore that concept there.
We didn't get the mention of his grandparents in the first season (that I can remember at least). But there's room to explore it later on. I mean, Sally very much is not game for Percy calling Kronos grandpa. And if that is explored more than just a joke it be sweet to see a scene of her talking about her parents to him.
Heck, maybe a scene were Kronos/someone else brings up Kronos as Percy's grandfather and we get a call back to the "I'm Sally Jackson's son" with him going "I'm Jim and Estelle Jackson's grandson!" Instead.
Just- ugh 😭 weak for family dynamics like that. I think it's just something you don't see very much, but at least with me I have these kinda feeling of wanting a connection with lot of family I never got to meet. Especially when you're told you look like said person.
You hear stories and just...get this longing? I don't how to explain it hdgd
But yeah. Family dynamics my beloved.

but for the grace of gods
Fandom: Percy Jackson and the Olympians Pairing: Sally/Poseidon Rating: G Word Count: 829
Summary: At the border between life and death, Poseidon holds Sally in the River Styx.
She isn’t sure whether she’s falling asleep or waking up, but it feels like a dream. Her unconscious mind is a revolving door. It’s impossible to say how long it’s been, only that she thinks her eyes are closed. Once the thought enters her head—my eyes are closed—she starts to wonder if it’s true, starts trying to sense what her eyelids are doing, starts waking up or falling asleep.
Her eyes open. It’s dark (well, it was night… somewhere). She’s soaked (it was raining… wherever that was…). She’s alone (she told someone to run…). Until she’s not.
He doesn’t speak, but she can feel him and has the same amount of trust in that feeling as she has in her eyes gauging the dark, her skin the wet, her heart the solitude. The water flows around her, soft like her name, Sally. Abruptly, she has a sense of being supported from below, as if kept afloat on someone else’s body. The water becomes arms to encircle hers, fingers to slip between hers as invisible hands take hold. Hold fast.
“Percy!”
Is the sound of her own voice real?
“Sally,” Poseidon soothes, “you are beyond him. He is beyond you.”
The first might be true; she gasps, kicking her legs as they come to life, instinctively reacting to the Minotaur who’s no longer crushing her. She isn’t where she was. There’s no river in the clearing by the camp’s border. Sally flails and begins to absorb details of the landscape past the river that simultaneously rushes and keeps her still. Black rock—grim, volcanic. Cliff faces that soar out of site. And the people. The only hopeful thing about them is that none are Percy. They can’t be. Not him; not here.
Because she has a feeling she knows where here is, this place Poseidon says puts her and Percy beyond each other. She doesn’t believe that’s true. Yes, there are things only the gods understand, but her relationship to her son is wholly her domain.
Her tears merge into the flow. She can hear Percy praying to her.
I hope you can hear me.
Sweetheart, I can.
She knows it’s a one-way call, that Percy won’t get any sign that she’s listening. She pictures him at camp. She can’t make the river rise up the shore or send raindrops that make thick music in the woods or heat the water when he washes his hands for dinner (at least 20 seconds, Percy, please). When she was there, she would’ve done anything for him, and she can only trust that he’s remembering that now that she’s here. It’s from here, away from the mortal world, that her son’s father used to respond to her own offerings and prayers. She recalls the day, the restaurant, the counter she was sitting at when he stepped into her world and didn’t speak to Percy. Percy who was struggling, Percy who felt so unwanted that day. She and Poseidon have existed, have loved, in opposite ways.
I’m gonna make him see me, her son is swearing to her. I’m gonna make him see us both.
And she wishes it were simpler, that she could tell him how the father who missed every birthday is also the lover who cradles her in the River Styx. There is so much ahead of Percy that she can’t imagine. Herself, for example; she can’t imagine whether or not she’s there, ahead of him, not beyond him like Poseidon claims.
“I’m worried,” she says.
She says, “I’m tired.”
Rocking in the current, she says, “I won’t stay here, will I?”
“No,” Poseidon confirms. “You’ll pass into Hades’ realm. Right now, you’re suspended at the border between life and death.”
“How…?”
“Fortunately, that border is water. You aren’t his yet.”
Not Hades’, not Percy’s. Between life and death, sleep and consciousness. Since she’s neither trailing after Charon nor waiting in line for Club Underworld, it’s Sally’s understanding that the Minotaur didn’t succeed. She’s just taking death for a test-drive. She’d love to steer this one back to the dealership and say, No thanks, lob the keys back across the salesman’s desk.
“Percy’s going to come,” she says on instinct.
But she’s afraid for him, and the water of the Styx runs cold.
“Who wouldn’t come for you?” Poseidon asks tenderly, because he did, he found her here in the deepest, darkest water.
Despite her fear, his touch is a cool cloth to her forehead, suddenly fevered. Her entire body is warming in defiance of the frigid river. It doesn’t feel forced when her knee bends and her arm reaches out, her body reshaping itself to the last posture it held in life. She is slowly remade in gold. Her jacket tugs towards the riverbed, her hair pulls at her scalp, and Poseidon stays with her. Water goes from slicking her skin to shining her gilded hands. My eyes are open, she thinks, her vision a gleam against the dark.

AU: Instead of kidnapping and stealing Percy's and Jason's memories, Hera decided to make a sort of school swap with the Big Three children.
---
Summary: Greek and Roman demigods mix like oil and water.
Greek demigods are far more sporadic, easier to trust, more powerful, and chaotic. But they lack the numbers and the quick but good work the Roman demigods have.
Roman demigods are far more organized, they have more strength in numbers, and they know how to work quickly and get the best results. But they lack the power that comes with being a direct descendant of a god/dess, and the trust that comes with having constant life-or-death situations.
Not to mention the Big Three kids.
Camp Jupiter has two of them, Jason Grace and Hazel Levesque, a son of Jupiter and a daughter of Pluto respectively.
Jason could control the winds, and Hazel could pull the riches from the ground.
Camp Halfblood had the whole set with Thalia Grace, Percy Jackson, and Nico di Angelo.
Thalia could control lightning, and Nico could control the undead.
The best way to describe Percy's power? He could control anything that has water in it.
So what would happen if these two forces were to mix?
---
Ships: Jason/Percy (future), Thalia & Reyna (they're in a qpr), Will/Nico (future), Percy/Annabeth (present + polyamory!!!!), Annabeth/Piper (future), Frank/Hazel (future)
---
What I changed from canon:
Hazel's age. Her and Frank's canon relationship sorta gives me the ick since she's 13 and he's 16. She's 14 here, and won't be dating Frank until she's around 15-16 years old.
The Lost Hero + The Son of Neptune never happened here, obviously. Piper and Leo were latecomers, so to speak, but both of them got claimed by the first week like how it happened canonically.
Leo and Percy are balls of ultimate dumbassery and chaos together!!!! We were robbed of their friendship in canon for real. And also, Leo's aroace. Thalia helped him find the terms of his sexuality. He won't stop flirting and being himself, of course, he's just aroace now.
Speaking of sexualities, polyamorous percabeth <3
in this au, Annabeth and Percy are more chill with their relationship. sometimes they go on dates with other people if they want to, their partner knowing full well what happens and who they're dating.
genderfuck + asexual Percy the Beloved
no but seriously, i think he would not give a damn about his gender or sex. he could do either if someone else wants him to, but he generally doesn't care about it
Nico and Thalia getting adopted into the Jackson-Blofis household
the addition of Max Jackson and Ezra Jackson, two of my OCs that Sally fosters for Percy so that he could adopt them both when the time is right.
Nico still revived Hazel and became an Ambassador of Pluto for a bit, but Hera screwed with his plans to keep things hushed up about the Greek/Roman division. He helps (somewhat) with easing both Hazel & Jason into Camp HalfBlood and Percy & Thalia into Camp Jupiter.
did I mention that most of the big three kids are gonna have a sibling dynamic? because they're going to have a sibling dynamic (except for jercy, of course)
pipabeth is… well, it's happening, as much as lesbians who are so dumb about each other can be anyways (they are in a situationship is what I'm trying to say here)
the big three children can be dark sometimes, and that's okay!! we <3 the dark! little big three here
Annabeth isn't as controlling as she is canonically (someone had to say it)
Piper is less "I'm not like other girls"
Leo is a bit more mature, and doesn't make fun of people he doesn't know well like he did with Frank in Mark of Athena
Edit: forgot to mention that percy is a hopeless romantic here! He's the one who remembers any anniversary, gifts, etc form his loved ones
---
If you have any questions about this au, feel free to ask! it's still in development here, and I'd love to hear your thoughts about this au <3

A trap
Tumblr media
The graceful dome and white walls hid a faint room behind, which looked like a lecture hall with a semicircle of tiered seats and a podium for very important guests. It was the dullest part of the whole delightful building. It always seemed to Percy that Senate House was the most interesting building in New Rome, but only from the outside. The dome shined with gold. White walls resembled columns of bright light, bursting straight from the ground. Some silver glowed in it. However, the most aesthetic part of this architectural masterpiece was the stairs Percy was sitting on.
A marble step pattern reminded him of the sea. In blue curves, bordered by silver lines, he saw the waves rolling under the sun. The silver as though a sea foam shimmered in a warm light, and for the moment, Percy seemed to be moving, as if waves hit the coast stones with a splash. Staring at one of the blue-silver waves, he concentrated and clenched his hand into a fist once again. Waves, hidden in the marble, didn't obey him.
He liked to be the son of Poseidon (but not as much as he liked to be Sally Jackson’s son). Percy accepted this fact of parenting as the lesser of two evils, and, when he faced monsters, he was glad to have the ability to make any kind of water do what he wanted to. He didn’t boast this his powers and used it at full capacity only in the most extreme case, but for his lack of luck, every demigod sees the world in their own way.
Sitting on the steps of Senate House for a few hours at a stretch and trying to understand how his superpowers worked, Percy was testing himself. He was spinning his arms like a madman, he glanced at thin lines of the pattern and tried to use his powers on them but failed — the marble sea didn’t obey him. He did it only for his own moral support. He wanted to create a delusion of control to understand himself, and finally stop analyzing Annabeth’s act.
As soon as he relaxed a bit, her frightened face in tears floated in front of his eyes and the sounds of sobbing escaped from his memory like unleashed dogs in freedom. Percy said to himself repeatedly, that at that time he hadn't had a choice and he'd had to cross the line to stay alive. However, he immediately started arguing with himself if was it as necessary as he thought? Does he really need to deal with the trash in Annabeth's head, fight her fears and prove to himself that he did everything right?
There was no selfishness and no a desire to assert himself in his action, he just gave in to his one and greatest weakness, which the gods loved to remind him about. He gave in to his dark side, as Annabeth called it, just because he wanted to save her and other’s lives. But if Annabeth really believed that he could betray her as Luke once did and join the enemy's side that she didn't notice what his goal was when he was poisoning a deity with their own poison?
He shuddered as he heard peaceful, sneaking footsteps, but continued sitting on the stairs. New Rome had a good security system, and not any demigod could sneak in, let alone monsters. Deep inside, he hoped that somebody, who had become a reason for his passing anxiety, would just walk by, but the next moment he noticed a figure, wearing all black, who was sitting down next to him on the step.
Nico smelled of damp earth and some kind of flowers. Their flavour came Percy back to the Persephone's garden, which he had never been to, but once had seen this world-famous place from far. The sleeves of Nico's black sweatshirt were rolled up to his elbows. The jeans glowed as if they had just taken off a mannequin, which decorated the display window of Forever 21. His little regrown hair was pulled back into a small ponytail. The corners of his lips rose a bit, as if he was glad to see Percy, but understood that it wasn't the right time for sharing such feelings.
"Hazel told me the story", Nico said quietly. Percy waited for him to say something else, to feel sorry for him, as everyone had already done, but the son of Hades didn't seem to be going to sympathize with him. "Honestly, I didn’t even know that you can do something like that."
"You can raise the army of the dead and now you're surprised that I can do?" Percy asked, perplexedly. Nico giggled.
"After a such trick I'm not a big difference from the dead." The son of Hades was smiling now. "You’re lucky that after you don’t turn into… You know… or don’t transform into a sea foam. It’s an advantage."
"I scare people." Percy reminded him, showing that this aspect was vital for him with his voice. "And I make them feel disgusted."
"Feel disgusted?" Nico wondered. He looked at Percy from head to toe, squinted then and pretended to be astonished. "It is stupid."
"Guess Hazel didn’t tell you all the details."
Nico grunted, smacked his lips in a funny way, and it seemed he was going to say something, but in the end he stayed silent. Just glanced at Percy, at his hand clenching into a fist and smiled as if he could see something that no one else could. There were not so many people who could look at him in that way: directly into the eyes and without any hint of why he did that and what this gaze meant.
However, Percy tried to guess. At first, he thought that it was the way for Nico to show his mercy. Not with words or action, but with a smile and a look. Then one more thought flashed in his mind: what if Nico, as Annabeth earlier, just was scary by him and his powers, but just didn't want to show it as obvious as the daughter of Athena had done. Percy decided to turn away, because he didn't want to be a witness of Nico giving up and demonstrating his true emotions.
"You still didn't get it, did you?" The son of Hades asked suddenly. Percy shuddered and shook his head.
"What should I get?"
Nico's cheeks blushed. He stood up, put his hands into the pockets of his sweatshirt and raised his shoulders slightly, like he was posing for a photo in front of a fashion photographer.
"Fear is an irrational feeling," he began, trying not to look too worried. "I can understand why Annabeth is afraid of spiders and even don't connect her fear with Athena's children's curse. But I can't understand why she doesn't trust you and is scared of you when you're so... powerful."
The last Nico's word sounded so quietly that Percy barely heard it.
"What do you mean?" The son of Poseidon asked.
"I mean you're not a villain, Percy. You're not a cyclops which would do anything for dinner making of demigod. You are not a spitting the fire and turning into a chimera school teacher. You and Annabeth had been together for so long and now she broke up with you without any worthwhile reason."
Percy sat up straight and glanced at Nico. His face and his ears got red. But he was still smiling as if nothing had happened and wiggling on his toes.
"There is a reason," Percy said dubiously. "I broke my promise not to do it anymore. At that time in Tartarus, I scared her out of a year's growth. At this time I broke my word."
"If you had killed a deity with his own poison for me," Nico swallowed, but then continued without any hesitation, "I wouldn't have doubted my feelings. Also, Hazel said you had looked incredibly hot, when you used your power in full force."
When Nico mentioned his sister again, Percy realized that despite the fact she was an unwitting witness to his act, which he wasn't proud of, she didn't even make a noise and was not frightened at all. She just stood and watched Percy with the same admiration as young Nico had looked at him a long time ago. That Nico, who-
Fuck.
Before Percy could have said anything, a terrible ringing bell went through New Rome. Nico smiled and then walked away from the Senate House. Looking after him, the son of Poseidon repeated his words in his own head and remembered the one love confession, which Nico made after winning Gaia.
The silhouette of the son of Hades already seemed very small and far away when Percy suddenly stood up and called him by his name. He ran after Nico and soon noticed that he had already stopped and looked at him. The son of Hades was wiggling on his toes, when Percy finally overtook him. Nico's hair was blown by the wind, a shy smile touched his lips, his pale face was still blushing.
Taking a deep breath, Percy asked him a question that sounded stupid even in his head. But it was the only thing it seemed to him could sound appropriate in this situation.
"So, you think I'm incredibly hot?"
Nico giggled and rolled his eyes.
"It was what Hazel said, not me."
"But you didn't answer my question."
"I'm not going to. It sounds like a trap."
"What if it is a real trap?" Percy asked. "Would you like to, you know, fall into it?"
He felt as stupid as he did that day when Annabeth had said proudly that he drooled in his sleep. Nico stood still, not smiling and not blinking. His fingers had a tremor. The thought that it was because of he made Percy shiver. As if he would get crazy with excitement.
"What if we have dinner first?" Nico asked nervously. "I heard a rumor that there would be serving lasagna in the camp today."
Percy nodded without thinking. Maybe Nico wasn't ready to fall into his trap right now, but Percy, tired of delusional thoughts, Annabeth's accusations and the pity of the whole camp, was ready to surrender if Nico di Angelo would be his captivator.

Jason revival fic ideas poll (starring valgrace)
i have several revival ideas but don’t know which to work on after my current long wip. i saw someone else doing it with their wips so i decided to do it for all the revival fic ideas i have, to see if there’s one ppl rlly like. so… i suppose vote for which one you all like best! no promises but wanna hear people’s thoughts
oh also if you wanna snatch any of these ideas, go ahead! well, you can take any except for the first, that one is my baby, i’m attached to it. but all others are free game. i just ask to be credited for such a cool idea 😌 cause i’m so cool and awesome /j
(some of them might be kinda nonsense… but it’s about the vibe yknow)
1. Flames of Fate.
one of two that’s currently a wip (but hasn’t been touched for so long). basically, leo is staying with piper cause his mental health tanked after jason’s death. he’s having a good time until they run into rachel who gives them a prophecy. leo, piper, and thalia are part of the prophecy so they all go together. during it, leo gets a power where he basically becomes a jack of all trades. basically, if he knows the name and godly parent of any living demigod, he can borrow their power. there are drawbacks since using the powers of someone else drains him (think shadow travel level draining) and the powers don’t always listen to him (since he isn’t a kid of that god). also, he can’t use his powers during until he swaps back to his own. during the end of the quest, he panics and summons the power of jason, the last person who made him feel safe and loved. to his surprise, the powers come, are as easy to use as his own, and his own powers stay. while recovering at chb, he summons the powers again and they come. as he watches the sparks and lighting dance up and down his arm, he realizes this means jason is alive (since he can only summon the powers of living demigods). on the quest, they went to get a dangerous box left by the fates, one that would kill the person who opens it. leo opens it and finds a string aside, one that attaches to his pinky finger the moment he touches it. he realizes he has to follow this string and he sets off on his own, not wanting to put his friends in any danger. basically, in this au it’s a thing where like jason was never supposed to die and the fates intended for leo to use the cure. originally, jason and leo’s lives got connected after his death, and they were supposed to die at the same time. however, their fates were messed up due to apollo and the whole mess he made, so jason died when he wasn’t supposed to. their solution was the string and sending three people who would be desperate to get him on a quest (his ex and best friend, his sister, and his best friend who loves him). however, the string doesn’t lead him to jason but instead to increasingly dangerous situations. eventually, he winds up in tartarus and dies. suddenly, jason is revived bc like this wasn’t their fate. and he panics bc dead leo and becomes a human defibrillator. and yay! leo is revived! emotional reunion! but… they’re still in tartarus and now have to escape together. not much plans for that, but after they escape leo is slowly dying (he can’t catch a break) so he uses his last remaining strength to shadow travel them somewhere… which isn’t the best idea since he’s shit at it. last time he did it was on the quest where, in a dangerous situation, he shadow traveled them out of it. he meant to go back to piper’s new cali home (apollo helped them out a bit) but instead brought them to percy’s closet at his college dorm (coming out jokes ensue). so, he only things that he needs to get them somewhere safe… which winds up being sally jackson’s apartment. poor sally, she just wants to celebrate the holidays with her family and her son’s gf when suddenly a boy who’s supposed to be dead comes stumbling out of her bedroom with a boy who looks like he’s dying. and basically after that jason iris messages will cause he’s the only doctor he knows. yeah, this one is like… the most thought out. i think it’s the only one that’s been seriously plotted out. so, that’s why it’s so in depth. I took rick’s habit of tossing couples into tartarus and applied it to valgrace (this may become a theme).
2. Red string of fate (that kills you)
basically, in this one the fates go to the seven (plus nico and reyna) and tell them there’s been a situation. jason’s soul never went to the underworld. his soul is missing and they have no idea where it is or how to get it back. they made a way to track him but they need a demigod to take on the job. basically, it’s a red string that will lead the demigod to his soul, attaching the two. however, there’s a draw back. it’s incredibly dangerous to attach two souls. if they die while on the quest, both of their souls will be destroyed. basically, permanent death, no after life or second chance at life. despite loving jason, everyone is hesitant, not willing to take on the risk of destroying not only their own soul but jason’s as well. no one… except leo. he volunteers for the job. in his eyes, an afterlife isn’t worth it if he has to spend eternity without jason. he’d rather cease to exist than to never see him again. he won’t abandon jason, to leave his soul to wander wherever it is lost and alone
3. Werewolf Jason
jason comes back but like… comes back wrong. he’s a werewolf now awoooo. he hides it from leo bc he doesn’t want him to think he’s a monster. however, leo finds out and doesn’t care bc he adores jason. wolf shenanigans ensue.
4. Nyx fucks around
basically, in this one if nyx takes a life due to a broken promise in the styx, she gets their soul. so, she gets jason’s soul. she remembers the prophecy about one of zues’s sons overthrowing him so she decides to revive jason and train him. she wants to have fun, to fuck around and find out. also, everyone hates zues anyway. it’s a win-win. she won’t allow jason to visit his friends until she decides that he’s done. however, she does allow him to have dreams about them. meanwhile, leo is going on a quest with his friends on a rebuilt ship. it’s not as cool as the argo II but still p cool. while he’s talking to percy on the deck, percy gets possessed by eidolons. they force him to fight leo. leo is fucked since he isn’t a great fighter, they’re right next to the ocean, and he doesn’t want to hurt percy. percy tries to fight them off but there’s two of them and every time he fights one off, another takes its place. eventually, the fight results in percy being forced to kill leo. oh also he gets like stabbed through the back like jason :) possessed percy pushes leo into the water to drown him, ensuring he dies. while underwater, with hands around his throats, leo mouths “i’m sorry” to percy since he knows his friend will blame himself. before leo dies, his last thought is that he will get to see jason again. also, percy is suddenly knocked out somehow. when poor percy wakes up, he ofc asks “where’s leo?” bc that’s the classic heartbreaking question. poor percy get escape guilt. nyx is watching and she kinda needed an alive leo for her plans (since jason went on long, love sick rants to her) so she uses her powers to just pluck his body to her place (which is why his friends couldn’t find his body). jason wakes up from having a dream about that and rushes to nyx and finds leo’s dead body lying there’s. he’s ofc devastated and breaks down into tears, holding leo’s dead body and sobbing his heart out. jason’s grief results in his powers going wild and nyx thinks he’s strong enough. she says that she can’t revive leo, but that there’s somewhere jason can go and ask for a favor from the gods. perhaps, one of them will make a deal with him and bring him back. she places a spell on leo so his soul will stay in his body and his body won’t decompose. so, jason sets off on a journey while carrying dead leo’s body and he’s very emotional. when he appears at the place, eros shows up cause he wants to have some fun. he says he’ll revive leo is jason makes a deal with him. i have like… two thoughts for the deal. one is that he admired achilles and how crazy he went after the death of his lover. the deal would be that if leo gets hurt, he’ll be filled with the ‘rage of achilles’. the other idea is that he wants to punish jason for how his father is, not wanting him to follow in his steps. that deal is that jason has to be loyal to leo, even if they aren’t dating. if he dates or is romantically with anyone who isn’t leo, he’ll slowly die. jason doesn’t care and would be willing to agree to anything to get leo back. (if achilles curse he sees at as a better way ti protect leo. if loyalty curse, he would rather remain single than live in a world without leo. also, if he and lie ever dated, he’d NEVER cheat on him). whoo leo is revived and they’re happy! but also they have to track down their friends and finish the quest (there was a line in the prophecy about seven demigods and reuniting the seven. he now realizes it means the og seven). shenanigans and gayness ensue
5. Valhalla
i died and ended up in the afterlife of an entirely different pantheon?! yeah jason in valhalla. basically, his soul is kinda just… around after his death, no afterlife. sam finds it and brings jason back. confusion comes when he says that he’s the son of jupiter. now, they have to find out how a roman ended up in the nordic afterlife. also jason befriends the gang and copes with his death. they go on a quest and at the end of it, magnus asks his reward to be jason getting revived, getting a second chance at life. magnus also decides to help his pining ass by calling annabeth and asking where her friend leo lives. he tells jason and jason goes there the moment he gets his life back and has an emotional reunion with leo
6. Monster Jason
basically, hera decides to sneak around. she takes jason’s soul and makes a new body for him. however, around fall time, jason’s soul gets restless and she’s worried about the gods finding out. she goes to echidna, wanting help to make a new body and hide him. she can’t make exactly make humans so she makes him a human body with monstrous qualities (my idea is just like… very tall and crazy strength with wings, claws, and a like feathered mask around his eyes). hera asks where they can keep him while she works on finishing his human form (so he can switch between the two forms). echidna’s solution is to just… throw him into tartarus. so they do. and he’s down there… for MONTHS. so he’s very changed by his time there. he’s more ruthless. one day, leo falls in while on a quest. when jason hears about a human, he investigates and is shocked to see leo. he hides from him but secretly watches and takes care of him (by giving him food and protecting him). he doesn’t want leo to see him and think of him as a monster. even if leo sees him and doesn’t think so, he’s been with his thoughts. he knows he’s lost some of his humanity. it’s easier for him to hurt, to kill. eventually, leo sees him when jason protects him from a sudden monster attack. he is just happy to see his best friend again. by now, the time hera needed to make jason a new body is up so they escape tartarus together. jason gets a new body and leo gets a tall, strong bird bf.
7. Psyche and Eros
current has a short wip. same as last one, but they decide to rebuild the eros’s palace. basically, nobody can see his face or say jason’s name. if they do, he won’t be hidden and the gods will know what hera did. also, he wears like a skull to hide his face. however, he has like a mirror that shows him his friends. he sees leo in danger and goes to save him. he… goes a bit crazy and takes leo back to his palace (while he’s unconscious) to heal him. however, he decides that leo will be safer there and decides to keep him there. when leo wakes up, he’s ofc very angry about being kidnapped by some weird bird man. he’s even angrier when the guy won’t let him leave and instead gives him a mirror so he can still see his friends. jason hates leo being upset with him (and that he can tell him the truth) so he says that leo can ask for whatever he wants and he’ll make it for him. he also makes a whole room in the palace where leo can invent it his heart’s content. eventually, leo warms up to this nice bird man who gets him what he wants and is more than happy to hear him ramble about his inventions. eventually, against his better judgement, he confesses his feelings and he and jason get together. despite jason’s warnings, he’s curious about the bird man. so, when jason is sleep, he lights a flame in his hand to see and takes off the skull mask. he’s shocked when he sees jason. his flames accidentally go out of control due to his emotions and he accidentally burns jason. jason wakes up and is upset that leo didn’t listen to his warning bc now his life is in danger. so, the palace crumbles and leo is left with his regret while jason flies off to go hide. what happens after this? idk haven’t planned that far

Note
Sally would hear Poseidon say that and immediately attack him and Poseidon would just be taking and telling everyone not to interfere because, “he fucked up and that was not what he meant to say and it was worded really fucking poorly and he deserves to get his ass beat for that”
(That line causes so many feelings in me because Poseidon is trying to apologize for the pain Percy will be forced through for being born his son and part of me has always read it as Poseidon thinking Percy would suffer less if he was never born but he’s still grateful on some level to have Percy for a son and I’m crying)
“How could you?”
It took a moment for Percy to place the words. To register the absence at his side where his mother’s warmth had been. To realize why everyone else in the room stared in shock at the two people in the center of the room.
Sally Jackson was small. It was a weird thing to think. For so much of his life Percy’s mom has seemed to be so much bigger than him. So much taller. So much more prepared to take on the world. But here in the center of the throne room turned reading circle and occasional torture chamber where Percy was not only subjected to hearing his deepest thoughts but having to watch other people react to them too she looked tiny.
In the light of Olympus his mom was so small. So mortal. And yet there she was beating against his father’s chest with closed fists as she sobbed in a mix of grief and fury.
And Poseidon, the god of the sea, the earthshaker, the stormbringer, was letting her.
“How dare you!” She screamed again, the words sounding strangled. “How dare you tell our baby that!”
Zeus rose, reaching for a bolt he wouldn’t find (all of their weapons had been confiscated after all or Percy and Ares would have slaughtered each other by now) but Poseidon waved him off. Waved Paul off too when he rose to pull her away.
“I know.” He said instead, sounding ancient and tired and full of so much grief Percy wanted to cry. “I know.”
Whether he knew why Sally was attacking him or whether he was agree with her that he deserved it Poseidon didn’t say. Simply let her slam her fists against his chest over and over until she slowed and her sons took over in full force.
It was too much. The knowledge of what Gabe had been doing to her son, of what Percy had been forced to live through to save her and the rest of the world, of each and every horror her son had been forced to live through when they hadn’t even finished the first book. Hearing Poseidon, her first love and the man who had given her the most precious gift, say it was a mistake shattered something in her.
Poseidon wrapped his arms around her, tucking her close to his bulk while she sobbed.
“I worded it poorly,” He said full of apology and anguish. Those sea green eyes met Percy’s over his mother’s head. “I am several decades out of practice with children, but that is no excuse. I should have worded it better, and by failing to do so I hurt you. I’m sorry.”
Zeus choked. Percy wondered just how many times any of the gods apologized much less one of the big three.
He didn’t know what to say. What was the protocol for a god apologizing to a mortal? Was there one? Percy doubted it.
“It’s—“
“Perseus Jackson if you say it’s fine I swear I’ll—“ Annabeth doesn’t finish whatever she is planning on doing. Percy has just enough self preservation not to push it. Barely.
But it was fine. Kind of. He knows it’s not what his dad meant. Sure it hurt but that was years ago now. It didn’t matter. It couldn’t matter. And Percy still didn’t know what to say.
“I will always be grateful that you are my son,” Poseidon said, sparing Percy. “I was simply… regretful that the life of a Halfblood, a hero, is one that is rarely peaceful. You were not a mistake. I just wish I could spare you the pain.”
That Percy knew what to do with, sort of. “I wouldn’t change it.” He said, his smile feeling gossamer thin on his face. “No matter what I wouldn’t want to be anyone other than your son. This is where I was meant to be. What I was meant to do… and Thalia would have sucked being the prophecy kid.”
“Hey!”
“You were a tree, Grace!”
“I was a damn good tree, Jackson!”
He was grateful she picked up their usual bickering so easily. Grateful Nico made a show of arguing his own merit as a prophecy kid. Grateful that the eyes turned away from him and went to the growing spectacle.
Percy honestly had no idea how they were going to make it through the rest of the books.
