Fights and games (Marvin x Whizzer)
Hi yâall! I wrote this story a little while ago and Iâm honestly so damn proud of it, so I wanted to share it!
Pairing: Marvin x Whizzer (Falsettos)
Warning: None
Word count:Â 1044
~
Whizzer and Marvin had been fighting all day, it was becoming terribly annoying to Jason if he could be completely honest. It wasnât even like the argument was about anything really.
âPineapple belongs on pizza Marvin! Youâre just crazy!â Whizzer yelled through the living room while aggressively ironing clothes. Marvin sighed audibly and rolled his eyes, causing Whizzer to only get more furious. âDonât roll your fucking eyes at me, mister!â
Of course, this wasnât what started their arguing, though, qua importance, it didnât really matter. The argument started with Marvin not hanging up his clothes while Whizzer was vacuuming. Jason tried to settle it by hanging up his dad coat, but that just made Whizzer angrier with Marvin.
âSee, even Jason gets it better than you Marv, and he is twelve!â Heâd snapped while poking Marvin in the chest. âYou are a goddamn adult, start acting like one.â
âI canât help that youâre such a perfectionist!â Marvin yelled back. âI just came back from work goddammit, give me a moment.â Whizzer rolled his eyes but walked off, leaving him for a moment. Most of the times their arguments didnât get out of hand anymore since their break but sometimesâŠ
The peace returned for a moment, but before Jason knew it, it began again. Whizzer had made pizza for dinner and when they sat down at the table, Marvin started complaining again.
âPineapple on pizza, seriously Whizz?â Heâd asked when he poked his fork in the soft fruit on his pizza. Jason knew like Marvin knew, Whizzer did it because his passive-aggressive ass wanted to get payback on his boyfriend.
And here they were, arguing in the living room while Jason was trying to make his homework properly, which wasnât easy with two screaming men around you. He was so sick of them, he started thinking and a genius plan formed in his head.
âDad, Whizzer, Iâm going to my room to make my homework!â He exclaimed content as he stood up and gathered his stuff. Marvin sighed and ruffled a hand through his hair. Jason smiled before walking up to his room but as soon as he was out of sight they started screaming again. âYou see Marv, now we drove away Jason!â Jason tried to ignore them while he went into his room and started thinking of the best way to make his plan succeed.
~
Whizzer and Marvin were still downstairs, now in silence and ignoring each other. It wasnât until they heard a loud bang followed by a scream from Jason. The two of them locked eyes for a second before hastily running upstairs. They arrived in Jasonâs room, looking around for the young boy.
But Jason wasnât inside his room, he was outside, locking the door. âNow, Iâll let you out if you make up!â He told them. He sat down in front of the closed door cross-legged, waiting for the two unlikely lovers to make up.
âCome on Jason, let us out.â Whizzer tried. He waited for a moment but the door didnât open. Meanwhile, Marvin sat down on the bed and looked up at his boyfriend who was desperately trying to open the locked door. âI have cookies in the oven, theyâll burn if I donât get out soon.â
âBetter make up quickly then.â Jason just yelled back. Marvin snorted slightly, proud of the wit his son copied from him. Whizzer just turned to him with his hands on his hips, shooting him a death glare.
The room stayed silent for quite a while. The two men were still ignoring each other, shooting a quick glare at one another every now and again before quickly looking away again. They were both waiting for the other to make the first step.
Marvin sighed and stood up. He walked over to Whizzer, who was leaning against the door pissed off. Marvin knew he had to be the bigger person for now. âIâm sorry WhizzâŠâ He started. Whizzer looked up at him surprised but gestured him to go on. âI know how much you do around here and I donât praise you enough for it.â Whizzer tried to keep his face straight but Marvin saw his eyes lit up a bit. He smiled slightly as he ran his hand over the taller manâs arm.
âYeah, alright. I may have overreacted a bit too.â Whizzer admitted as he leaned into Marvâs touch a bit. Marvin chuckled as he shook his head lightly, making Whizzer smile a bit too. Marvin laid his hand on Whizzerâs cheek, leaning in for a small peck. Whizzer chuckled and pulled him in, pressing his lips on Marvinâs passionately. Marvin smiled into the kiss as he pulled Whizzer closer by his waist.
They looked into each other's eyes when they pulled away, already forgetting what they were fighting about before. âSo, weâre good?â Whizzer asked as he combed his long fingers through Marvinâs curly hair. Marvin smiled up to him and gently squeezed his waist.
âWeâre goodâŠâ He told Whizzer. He brought his lips up to Whizzerâs once again, tenderly and loving this time. Whizzer melted into it leaning against the door with the shorter man in arms. Until the door suddenly opened and they stumbled into the hall. Jason stood behind them, smiling sweetly.
Marvin and Whizzer chuckled awkwardly while quickly getting out of each others grip. âSorry you had to go through that kid,â Marvin said as he walked over to Jason. He wrapped his arms around his son, tightly embracing him.
âItâs all right.â Jason coed as he awkwardly hugged his father back. Whizzerâs heart melted as he looked at the bonding in front of him and he couldn't help but quickly wipe some tears away.
âAre you crying?â Marvin chuckled as he looked up at his boyfriend. Whizzer shook his head furiously as he still rubbed his hands over his face. Marvin stood up to pull him in for a hug too, letting him softly sniff into his shoulder.
âI love you, you know that right?â Marvin whispered into his ear. Whizzer nodded slowly, softly kissing Marvin on the cheek.
âI know, I love you too⊠both of you.â He muttered while pulling Jason into the hug too. Now he finally had a tight-knit family.

Remember to do the prompt where whizzerâs touch starved and breaks down when Marvin softly touches him the first time and they have their first heart to heart and angst and love !!! Thank you for writing so much!!! You the best!!!
Will do!! Whizzer is trans in this AU
This one is super long, itâs almost 3k words. Have fun reading it hah
Whizzer metMarvin at a club. Heâd sat at the bar, stirring his drink, just waiting forsomething to happen. And soon enough something â or someone â did. As soon asthe stranger sat next to Whizzer and waved his hand to let the waiter know hewanted to order, Whizzer noticed the faint line on Marvinâs left hand, wherethe wedding ring had clearly been just moments ago. Whizzer was intrigued from themoment Marvin opened his mouth and noticed that almost forced half a smile onMarvinâs face. âWhy is a pretty boy like you sitting here all alone?â Marvin asked, trying to sound confident and suave, but failing completely. Whizzer burst intolaughter as he sipped from his drink, turning to Marvin with a quirked brow. âIâmusually surrounded by handsome men who seem to know their lines,â he responded, the spark in his eyes very clear, âbut then you came along. Youâre handsome forsure, but that the hell was that?â
Whizzer wasused to awful pickup lines and usually just rolled his eyes as he walked awayfrom men who used them, but there was something different about this one.Something that intrigued him. Maybe it was the way Marvin carried himself â awalk that demanded attention, all the while looking like he wanted todisappear, so no one could look at him. There was something so strange aboutthe whole ordeal that Whizzer just couldnât turn away. If Marvin wantedsecurity, like his shaky hands told Whiz, whyâd he approach? Nothing aboutWhizzer said âsafeâ, not the subtle rainbow and trans flag badges he wore onhis sleeves, not the way his eyes followed guys around, not the wild smile thatwas just waiting to break free as soon as he said anything at all. Whizzerwasnât someone who blended in, his perfect hair and quick remarks spoken withflirty eyes painted âqueerâ all over him. What exactly had told this bland stranger that Whizzer was in hisleague? It amused Whizzer and he wanted to see where it would lead.
The wordsWhizzer spoke made Marvinâs cheeks warm up, but not enough to make him fullyblush. He just cleared his throat, averting his eyes from Whizzerâs hungrygaze. âDunno, I hoped itâd be something thatâd let me buy you a drink,â Marvinreplied to Whizzerâs smart mouthing, making Whizzer laugh. âMhm. Sure, whynot,â he chuckled and turned to the waiter that heâd have one more, âIâmWhizzer.â Marvin was clearly nervous of how smooth Whizzer was, how relaxed andtrained he was, even if he wasclearly younger than Marvin himself, and it took him a moment to scramble histhoughts together before he realized he hadnât even introduced himself.âMarvin. Itâs a pleasure,â Marvin finally said with a nervous smile and Whizzerraised his now full glass for a toast.
Thatâs howthey met. The night stretched out as Whizzer amused himself with making smartremarks and waiting for Marvin to gather his thoughts so he could respond. Asthe bar started to close up, enough time had passed and Marvin had loosened upenough to match Whizzerâs wit. Whizzer invited him back to his place since itwas close by and Marvin accepted. As they climbed the stairs to Whizzerâs flat, the young man suddenly grew quiet. He dug up his keys and opened the door, butturned to Marvin before letting him in. âMarvin, you need to know something.Youâre free to turn around if itâs too much,â Whizzer spoke with serious, themischievous spark gone from his eyes for the first time. Marvin furrowed hisbrow and nodded, letting Whizzer continue speaking. âUh, itâs⊠Iâm pretty sureyouâre married and youâre out tonight to find a gentleman to spend the nightwith. I understand that and Iâm more than willing to be yours, but itâs up toyou if you want it. Just remember that Iâm exactly who you thought youâve spentyour evening with.â Whizzerâs words started to worry Marvin, but he stillstayed quiet. âIâm transgender, Marvin. I donât exactly, uh, possess certainqualities you mightâve been specifically looking for tonight.â
Whizzer hadbeen sure Marvin would either hit him or just turn around and walk out sincethat was the usual response. To his surprise, the older man gently placed hishands on Whizzerâs shoulders and pushed him into the apartment, kissing himgently as soon as they were out of sight. The door behind them swung shut andWhizzer was in heaven. From there on, Marvin spent almost every night inWhizzerâs bed. Most nights it was just sex and Whizzer was more than fine withthat. He loved the way Marvin handled him, loved falling asleep with his headburied against Marvinâs shoulder. But as soon as the morning came, Marvin wasgone, traveling back to his family â wife and son, as Whizzer later learned.
One morningWhizzer woke up as Marvin was getting dressed, groaning from within the covers.âWhy do you have to leave so early? Come back to bed, MarvinâŠâ Whizzerâsmumbling was met by a soft laugh as Marvin put his shirt on. âYou know that Icanât. Iâll be back tonight, you know that,â Marvin spoke softly and moved overto place a kiss into Whizzerâs hair before disappearing. Whizzer sighed quietlyand curled up further, trying to push away the sting in his heart. âBringtakeout once you do get here,â he just grumbled, not sure if Marvin even heardas the man was already almost through the door. Whizzer tried to fall backasleep, but the unsettling feeling in his chest wouldnât pass. For the firsttime, Whizzer realized that he wanted this man to stay. Whizzer had always been perfectly fine with just sleepingwith other men, spending the night and disappearing in the morning. Neverbefore had his heart ached for a man to stay in bed with him, to stay and justâŠTalk. Sighing, Whiz got up and went to take a shower. Then he did his hair, gotdressed and walked out of the apartment that now felt empty whenever Marvin wasgone.
It wasalready dark outside when Marvin finally got back. Whizzer was sat on thecouch, a book in his hand. âHey,â he called out as he heard Marvin walk behindhim. Hands touched his shoulders and Whizzer lowered the book as Marvin rubbedhim gently. âHow was work?â Marvin just hummed out at the question, âSame as italways is.â Whizzer nodded, finding the strength to smile as he turned to lookat his lover. That question was always loaded â it wasnât just about work, itwas also about Marvinâs family. Whizzer knew where he was all afternoon, why healways came to him late when the night had already fallen. But he never askedit, not directly: Whizzerâs newly fragile heart couldnât have handled hearingabout the family Marvin loved more. âDid you bring takeout?â Whizzer asked tolighten the air, standing up to make his way into the kitchen. âMhm, I did.Chinese,â Marvin replied as he followed, placing the bags on the counter ofWhizzerâs somewhat small kitchen. âOh, perfect,â Whiz smiled, wanting to reachto take Marvinâs hand, but decided against it and instead he reached out tograb plates for the two of them.
Once theyâdhad dinner together, it was already late enough to go to bed. Whizzer spentlonger than usual in the bathroom, staring at his shirtless chest, stillcovered by his makeshift binder. Once heâd take it off, his skin would becovered in red marks, irritated. The cloth made breathing rather difficult attimes, made sports impossible, and complicated movement in general. StillWhizzer had to wear it, if he wanted to be taken seriously. He was lucky enoughto look like a cisgender man, but if he didnât wear his binder, he became ajoke. That night the whole thing weighed on Whizzerâs shoulders, making himwalk out still wearing pants and his binder. Marvin glanced over him, raising abrow, clearly ready to make some snarky comment. As soon as he saw Whizzerâsface, the challenge disappeared from his eyes, replaced by worry. âWhatâswrong, Whiz?â
Whizzersmiled at him, trying to hide the hurt he carried inside. It wasnât Marvinâsfault, so there was no reason to worry him. âItâs nothing, Marv, donât worry,âhe purred as he climbed into bed, close to his lover. âNo, really, tell me. Andwhy are you still clothed? I thought we were going to sleep,â Marvin pushed, just wanting to help. It made Whizzer sigh and close his eyes. Marvinâs fingersstarted to trace patterns down Whizzerâs back and immediately, Whizzer reactedby reaching up and kissing Marvin. It surprised Marv and he pulled back, confused. Whizzer froze, thinking he did something wrong, eyes wide with fear.âOkay, Whiz, something is clearly wrong,â Marvin started again, holdingWhizzerâs gaze. âI-â Whizzer stuttered, now pulling back completely. âI thoughtyou-â he tried again, completely losing himself, âI thought you wanted me.â
Marvinâsheart almost broke as he heard the words, heard the hurt in Whizzerâs words. âIdo want you, Whizzer, baby. I do want you,â he started softly, âI want to beclose to you in other ways too, itâs not just sex.â The words made Whizzerâsheart skip a beat, made his head spin. âYou really thought I only wanted thatfrom you?â Whizzer didnât answer, he just curled up, facing away from Marvin. He had never been as embarrassed, he felt humiliated. âThen why are you here? Please go home.â Whizzerâs words werequiet, barely audible, tired.
Marvinwrapped his arm around Whizzer from behind, his fingers tracing the edge ofWhizâs binder. âBecause I enjoy spending time with my lover,â he mumbled intoWhizzerâs hair, making the young man sigh out. Whizzer shivered, but it wasnâtout of cold. His stiffened body slowly relaxed as a tear rolled down his cheek, his next inhale trembling. Marvin was kind and gentle, unlike so many beforehim. Whizzer had learned that every touch placed on his skin led to sex andafter heâd been used, heâd just be cast aside. So many before Marvin hadtreated Whizzer like a toy, someone to be controlled, or to be used to fulfilkinks â simply because he wasnât the traditional gay boy. For the first time inhis life, someone pulled him close just to keep him in their arms. For thefirst time, there was no obligation for Whizzer to let anything and everythingbe done to him, for him to push his feelings aside. Marvin held him closebecause it was comforting, having skin against skin. It spoke volumes of caring, something Whizzer hadnât really known before.
Marvinâsfingers drawing patterns on Whizzerâs skin without it having to lead toanything more was too much for Whizzer to handle. Blinking, he tried to keepthe tears from falling, tried to keep his body under control so that Marvinwouldnât see him break down. But he couldnât do it and soon heâd pushedMarvinâs hands away and pulled his knees up against his chest, a sobbing messof hurt and need and confusion. âWhizzer? Baby?â Marvin asked, terrified of whatwas happening. He didnât understand, at all, why Whizzer was crying. What didhe do, what triggered this? Whizzer just shook his head, unable to breathebetween the sobs with his binder pressuring his chest.
âTalk tome, baby, whatâs wrong?â Marvin tried again, now pulling on Whizzerâs shoulderto get him to lay flat. He understood enough to know that the binder aroundWhizzerâs chest wasnât helping the situation, but he didnât want to do anythingunless Whizzer specifically told him. âI-I-Iâm so s-sorry, Marvin, I-I donât-âWhizzer stuttered, unable to get a coherent sentence out, â-I don-t- I donâtdeserve you.â Marvin brushed Whizzerâs hair out of his face, his soulshattering into pieces as he watched the man he was falling for break apartlike that. âYes you do, baby, yes you do. Thatâs just not true, youâre the bestthing thatâs happened to me,â he tried to find comforting words, but once herealized that words couldnât really do much, he leaned down and wrapped hisarms around Whizzer again. This time, Whizzer hugged him back, pulling him as closeas possible. Whole body trembling with each sob, Whizzer cried against Marvinâschest until the tears took their time to slow down.
Marvinstroked Whizzerâs hair the whole time. He stayed close, let Whizzer take histime. It took a long while for the sobbing to die out and even longer for thetears to stop, but as soon as they did, Marvin dried Whizzerâs face with his thumb. He smiled softly, kissed his loverâs cheek and pushed back the hair that hadfallen onto Whizzerâs forehead. âCan you now tell me whatâs wrong?â Marvinasked quietly as he realized just how right it felt, to be there, by Whizzerâsside. Heâd kissed his wifeâs cheek, brushed hair out of her face a milliontimes, but never had it felt the same as it did then, with Whizzer. Whizzer breathedin a few times, trying to steady his voice, hoping he wouldnât sound like agirl. Heâd trained his voice, of course, but now all of his energy had beendrained out and he wasnât sure if heâd be able to keep his voice low. âItâsjust-â he started, unable to look into Marvinâs eyes, âNo one-⊠No one has beenthis kind to me. Itâs always just sex,â Whizzerâs voice was soft and broken.Marvin listened quietly, fingers tracing down Whizzerâs cheeks, to his collarbones, and back up to his hair. âItâs always just sex, Marvin. Iâd started toâŠIâd started to believe that it was the only thing I was good for, to be used fora night and left in the morning. Because thatâs what I am to most men, someoneto be used. Because of who I am.â
For awhile, Marvin didnât say anything. He just leaned closer and buried his faceinto Whizzerâs hair. Then, after a while, he pulled the man even closer tohimself. âYouâre good for so much more, Whizzer. Youâre the greatest person Iâveever met,â he explained quietly, âYouâre my whole world. I want you to meet myson one day.â Whizzer didnât answer right away, just listened to Marvinâs heartbeat as the man continued to talk. âIâve thought about leaving my wife, Whiz. Ireally have. And I think Iâm gonna do it. We can get our own place, the two of ustogether, and I wonât have to leave your side in the morning to go back to alife I donât even want anymore.â
Whizzergasped at Marvinâs words. Heâd had no idea he meant that much to the man heâd metat a bar one night. âYouâd-⊠Youâd do that for me?â He asked quietly, completely forgetting to even try and control his pitch. Marvin nodded, leaningback to look at Whizzer again. âYeah. I would, Whizzer. And I will,â he stated calmly, sure of himself â sure of Whizzer. With wide eyes, Whizzer finally looked up. Speechless,he pulled Marvin down into a soft kiss, nodding as an answer. âOkay, Marvin. I likethe sound of that,â Whizzer sighed out, closing his eyes. Suddenly he wasexhausted, shifting into a more comfortable position. The binder was digginginto his sides and back, and he just wanted to get some rest, already startingto fall asleep. âYou really need to sleep, Whizzer,â Marvin muttered with a smile. âBut letâs get you out of that binder first.â

Essential Avengers: Avengers #85: âThe World Is Not For BURNING!â
February, 1971
Great title. GREAT cover.
Maybe Iâm off but this cover feels much more like what youâd get over at DC. And thereâs a reason for that. According to the cover, this is the sensational return of the Squadron Sinister. You may recall that they are thinly veiled Justice League analogues.
Anyway, last time the Avengers took a trip to still unnamed Polemachus to rescue Black Knight. Or rather they were kidnapped to Polemachus to stop them from invading Polemachus. Because Arkon is paranoid and decided to listen to the evil Enchantress.
We pick up still on Polemachus as Thor prepares to transport the Avengers (and their mansion) back to Earth.
And something goes wrong.
Black Knight ends up back at Stonehenge. Thor, Black Panther, and Avengers Mansion end up back in New York. But Scarlet Witch, Vision, Goliath, and Quicksilver are nowhere to be seen.
This normally would be a cause to drop everything and search for vanished friends but, well, Thor and Black Panther have a previous engagement that takes precedent.
See, they have to join Cap and Spider-Man to distribute toys for tots. Donât want to disappoint a few hundred youngsters. The missing Avengers will have to deal.
Speaking of them, the four missing Avengers appear somewhere. And oddly they find that all four of them are intangible.
And if thatâs not weird enough, people start melting. With the sun overhead blazing hotter than ever, the Avengers are forced to helplessly witness a doomed and burning Earth.
They see the date January 4th on a newspaper but before the Polemachus adventure, it had been December!
Wanda Witch decides to use her hex power. Maybe it will randomly make things better possibly. And it does, possibly.
The Avengers pop solidly back into the world. A non-melting world. And the date on a newspaper now is the correct one.
So now they have to figure out how to prevent that burning future. And oddly the newspaper vendor didnât recognize them. Oh and they donât notice but thereâs a different president mentioned in the newspaper.
And Avengers mansion looks subtly different.
Oh and Nighthawk is in the mansion and has no clue who they are.
What could possibly be going on here? CoughParallelEarthCough
Nighthawk attacks them but bounces off Vision. Also, heâs outnumbered. So he escapes into a secret passage behind a wall panel.
Goliath goes to punch the wall open but Vision stops him and just intangibles through and opens it from the other side. It was wired to explode if forced open so Goliath almost lost his hand.
The Avengers follow the passage and discover something so alarming, so outrageous that they all make silly faces.
There are four weirdos in costume lounging around the Avengers meeting room like they own the place: a Lady Lark, Hawkeye, Tom Thumb, and American Eagle.
Standing in for: Black Canary, Green Arrow, the Atom, and Hawkman.
Anyway, American Eagle thinks the Avengers are a bunch of reds or commie-symps.
Things could hypothetically be solved with talking at this point. Vision has started to piece together what might be going on. But then Goliath spots Nighthawk hidden in the shadows and grabs him by the cape.
Hawkeye (Iâm sorry that Marvel made this confusing for everyone) pulls a crossbow on Goliath and Goliath knocks him down with a stomp.
Then Dr. Spectrum calls on the video phone and leaves a videovoicemail reporting that Brain-Child One is going to blast off to the Sun in precisely ONE HOUR.
This is an important plot point.
Also, this fills in the final puzzle piece for Vision. Dr. Spectrum called the city that the mansion is in Cosmopolis, instead of New York.
PARALLEL WORLD!
And and and, the giant burning sun! Rocket going to solar orbit! SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH ROCKET AND DESTROY WORLD. The Avengers have to stop the rocket!
This sounds like nonsense babble to the present Squadders so Tom Thumb flies up to Goliath and blinds him with blinding gas.
Clint Barton (Goliath) takes this poorly and rampages around smashing things and finally runs right through the mansion wall looking for light.
A befuddled American Eagle jumps through Vision in a way that never ceases to bring me joy (it happening to Batman in JLA/Avengers was particularly amazing).
Quicksilver whizzes around Hawkeye (not Clint, not Kate) until Tom Thumb GLOP!s him all up with adhesive.
Lady Lark does the canary cry which knocks Scarlet Witch off her feet.
Vision goes to stop Goliath from blindly walking into traffic. And then gets shot in the ass by Hawkeye.
And then American Eagle hammers Goliath and knocks him on his ass on a car. Also accuses him of trying to sabotage the American space race.
But when Tom Thumb comes over to finish Goliath off, Goliath breaks his little rocket chair with a kick. And then gets kicked in the head by Nighthawk.
This is not Clintâs day.
Nighthawk wonders whether the Avengers really were lying or-
And then Tom Thumb, Nighthawk, and American Eagle all get their asses kicked by a nettled Vision who has decided that the only thing theyâll listen to is SHEER, BRUTE FORCE!!
Meanwhile, Quicksilver broke out of his GLOP! cocoon and pinballs into Hawkeye knocking him out.
I have to admit that its weird seeing Quicksilver use bouncing off people tucked into a ball as his major combat strategy.
Anyway, Lady Lark tries to canary cry Quicksilver but Scarlet Witch comes to and uses her hex sphere to reflect the ultra-frequency sound back on Lady Lark.
And so the Avengers have successfully beaten up five superheroes. Wait, what were they doing again?
Oh right, right, right. End of the world.
They take one of the Squadronâs aircars and Nighthawk and head off to find Atomic City where the solar rocket is going to launch. And on the way, they somehow manage to get Nighthawk to believe their story and he agrees to help them stop the rocket.
Hopefully without a battle because the Squadders at the rocket site? Hyperion, Dr. Spectrum, and the Whizzer. The mightiest members of the Squadron Supreme. (And the ones representing Superman, Green Lantern, and the Flash. Although I have to wonder where expy Wonder Woman is.)
Vision only urges Nighthawk to pray that they will listen to reason...
