it’s funny how it happens. really. i checked when i last updated, and what i wrote. i realized a lot of things. addiction is something hard to shake. it starts small, grows big. addiction isn’t something to glorify or make a tv show out of. or a movie out of. or to gloat like, “hey i’m an addict”. hey i used to drink a lot of alcohol. hey now i’m fine. hey, i used to use a lot of drugs. i’m fine now. hey, i went in the tunnel.

look, this is the other end. 

that was two years ago. how fucking weak was i. we’re talking about, a nice clear bottle. a bottle of spirits. most likely vodka. i have one of those reusable woolworths bags. i walk up to BWS with it slung over my shoulder. i’m taking my puppy with me. she wasn’t that old at all. i buy, rather very expensive vodka. the clean spirit stuff. it started off like a great fucking experiment. like. what is good? what is bad? whats overpriced? what tastes nice. the equation of it  is fairly simple. Buy good liquor, strong, and pair it with a soft drink that compliments it.   so, sometimes that means scotch with lemonade, which is a undiscovered deliciousness. of the the time it meant vodka with lime soda. or water. just water. which is hard to swallow. tonic or soda, it goes down essentially the same. the entire thing, once legal, became an experiment of what tasted and felt good. 

being drunk felt very good. and then, like very slyly, became habit. if i had a long day at work. 9 hours on my feet. that warrants alcohol. if you feel stressed, tense. alcohol was a very small solution to a big problem. easy solver. hey, drink some of this. you’re relaxed. talk to people. this is good. they like you. at work parties, you’re fucking hilarious. because you’re outlandish. people find it funny and a weird sense of comfort all at the same time. you’re sexual. say things you probably, most likely shouldn’t say. good job. every one likes it. 

the extra weight piles onto your tits.  you feel it because it honestly makes you bend forward. rolls gather around your essential organs. like, waist, chest, ribs. they’re coated in fat. and its all because of the fucking beer you cant stop chugging. you’ve got the layers you dont want. if you want to bend down now, you feel it and it makes you feel disgusting. you have no endurance. you have a constant need to eat healthy, be healthy, but do you follow through? when you walk your dog now it makes you out of  breath. 

you think, 

this is a simple task. is trudging up a grassy hill really making me breathless? has a constant thirst for something that makes your brain feel fuzzy. liquidated. messy. worth every fucking terrible thing thats now presented to you? it’s not worth anything at all. sipping on alcohol is myliquid courage. i take to it in times of need. i often feel like i need it. it creates, thick, whiterolls around my body. i feel my liver ache. i’m not helping myself, i’m hurting me. and i’ve been doing this, not for a short amount of time, but for a long amount of time. 

i feel like a lot of my life is thinking about what i could be and what i want to be. getting fucked up isn’t part of it it makes me feel so good, with nothing to back it up. i’ve gained probably 30kg from abusing alcohol. that is a honest truth. i need to face myself, and realise what i need to do does not align with the abuse of alcohol.

i need to face myself. 

i keep losing friends, keep losing myself.
