i been following for a while, I love your blog! I wanted to share my collectionn :3
my n2ds is my main console for games, which is funny because its my least favorite 3ds console because I heard its hard to repair (☹️). not a fan of the colors and not to mention the bumpy surface on the top. And there is no hole for charms like the others! what gives !!! hehe it has the pokémon super mystery dungeon theme that was exclusive to preorder bonuses of the game in Japan applied though, so all it well. i always carry it around with me in sleep mode during my daily walks. i originally hacked it for play coins for streetpass mii plaza
The one on the right is my n3ds. Definitely my favorite console i wish the usa version wasnt so hard to get 💔. it also has the psmd face plates <3
okay okay i got this i got this
from Left to Right: midnight purple o3DS black + turquoise n2DSXL white DS lite white n3DS (with pokemon mystery dungeon shell) black DS lite (broken) blue DSi
I have to agree with the 2DS stuff, I really hate the texture of it!! It's so bumpy augh. the n3DS has a similar look but thankfully the texture isn't as bad. It's still there, but less prominent.
I love the variety in your collection!! It's really nice. I'm curious as to your thoughts about getting both the n2DSXL and the n3DS, since they are pretty similar in specs.
#The only reason why I'd get an n2DSXL is because im a collector. though it is lighter than an n3DSXL so.#asks#midnight purple o3DS#black + turquoise n2dsxl#white DS lite#white n3DS#black DS lite#blue DSi#3ds inspo#3ds post

🪼 - black/blue o3dsxl
ok i know this is kind of the obvious choice but CMON. we've talked abt it before, the original 3ds xl model is unique in a very special way... the thick matte finish of the shell is fucking gorgeous, and its button layout really is the best out of all of them i think. also the start/home/select buttons are worth noting; the o3ds' iteration of those buttons tend to damage easily and feel a bit weird to press, plus they're just.. not separated? the o3dsxl switches it up to thick separate buttons with a lovely texture and i'll never run out of nice things to say abt it. also this is a small detail but i like the o3dsxl's circle pad texture a LOT. its got great grip
☄️ - pokemon red/blue version n3ds
so i've never actually owned a n3ds model, just the xl variant. but this specific variant, limited edition in 2015 for pokemons 20th anniversary, is LITERALLY you. to me. the detail on the background(s), they're almost like brush strokes... i dunno. the texture of those plates too! not glossy like the n3dsxl, but that same matte finish paired with the phenomenal art. these are just cover plates that go on the n3ds, yeah, but it's a different energy from an ENTIRELY plain white console. speaking of, the plain white highlights on the cover plates!! it provides a distinctly o3dsxl feel imo.
🪻 - lime green n3dsxl
my favorite n3dsxl!!! the lime is sooo eye catching, makes for an incredibly sleek design. and it just works so well with the black!!! ahhh!!! i prefer the solid color n3dsxl variants to the design ones like the galaxy, because it really makes the shell pop. and i'm not sure how to explain but it really stands out from the standard colors for the mode yknow? like for the plain red/blue/grey/etc, those are great but this one goes the extra mile. maybe it's just because this one has the black highlights on the hinge...
however!! the pikachu yellow n3dsxl is a close second. this one!
mostly because of the art :P i dunno it's just very charming.. i'm not sure why the lime green stands out to me more than this one, maybe it's just the nostalgia that i have for it. the lime green is closer to my plain red (rip) and galaxy n3dsxl in spirit.
i was gonna say "this got long sorry" but you guys know what you were getting into /silly

Pokémon Series - 2013 - X & Y
The Pokémon series first debuted back in 1996 when Japanese developer Game Freak released Pocket Monsters Akai, Pocket Monsters Midori and Pocket Monsters Ao also known as Pocket Monsters Red, Green and Blue for the Game Boy.
Initial releases of these three games was exclusive to Japan but translation of them would release two years later with Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue releasing alongside a special edition Pokémon Yellow Version Special Pikachu Edition, this unlike Red and Blue is based on the Anime series that released in 1997.
2002 saw the main-line Pokémon series move from the Game Boy and Game Boy Color to the recently released Game Boy Advance with the releases of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire in 2002.
The series would continue on the Game Boy Advance in 2004 with the releases of FireRed and LeafGreen, these games being remakes of the original Pokémon Green and Red.
Although releasing in Japan in 2004, Pokémon Emerald would see the bulk of its releases occurring in 2005 with US and European releases of the game and is the fifth main-line title to grace the Game Boy Advance handheld system.
Late 2006s Japanese release of Pokémon Diamond would be followed by worldwide releases in 2007, with the main-line rpg series of Pokémon games making the jump to the relatively new handheld system the Nintendo DS
Like previous release Pokémon titles 2007's Pokémon Pearl would debut in Japan in 2006 but would see the majority of it's releases the following year in 2007, releasing i across Europe, North America and Oceania. this begins the 4th generation and moves the player to the Sinnoh region with over 100 new Pokémon to catch.
Following the release of Pearl, Pokémon Diamond would reach shelves in Japan in 2008 with a wider release the following year in 2009. Diamond marks the 3rd game of the 4th generation and as with the previously two was exclusive to Nintendo's handheld system the DS.
2009 would also see the releases of two more remakes with the releases of Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, these two games being remakes of Pokémon Gold and Silver, and released to mark the 10 year anniversary of the 1999 Game Boy Color releases.
2010 would see the release of Pokémon Black and Pokémon White and the start of the 5th generation. The Black version of the game features the legendary Pokémon Reshiram, while the White version features the legendary Pokémon Zekrom, this is also the first entry in the main-line rpg games to feature fully animated Pokémon during battle.
Two years later the direct sequels to Pokémon Black and Pokémon White would be released, again on the Nintendo DS and again with players returning to the region of Unova in Pokémon Black & White 2. With this latest entry in the main-line rpg series set two years after the events of Black and White with new locations and 277 Pokémon to catch.
The following year would see the Pokémon series move to the Kalos region for Pokémon X and Y for the Nintendo 3DS. These two entries in the series mark the first to be fully rendered in 3D as well as having a customisable player character.
This first generation of Pokémon games would be the first of 9 generations that would be released over the next 26 years with the most recent being in 2022 with Scarlet & Violet. Over the course of the Pokémon franchise life a multitude of spin of games have also released encompassing a multitude of genres as well. #gaming #handheldgaming #videogames #shorts #youtubeshorts #nintendo3ds #n3ds #nintendo #pokémon #pokémonx #pokemony #pokemonxy #pokemon

My order from Play-Asia I made back in December as a (late arrival) Christmas gift to self (was delayed due to ordering World of Final Fantasy for Switch that released this month along with the Taiko Drum accessory and Ys Origin). Unfortunately, this is the second order(out of a total of seven) I’ve made that they messed up with, as the Switch and PS4 game were not included in the box that arrived despite it saying it was included on the label...
At least I got the most expensive item from my order safe and sound, but I’m still really upset that World of Final Fantasy wasn’t included after patiently waiting this whole time... I’m just hoping they follow through and get me my items as I am not asking for a refund or wanting credit thrown onto my account. I just want the games I ordered.
At least with their first flub up, I still got all the items I ordered. They just got me the wrong n3DS color--I ordered for the Japanese Pearl White model, and got Metallic Blue. Was upset by it, ‘cause I wanted a lighter shade system for once--as I already had a black one when trying to get the exclusive Majora’s Mask n3DS back on launch day, and a Galactic Purple that I couldn’t say no to due to how pretty it was. But, the pros outweighed the cons, as the system did come in perfect condition, worked, and got the job done(let me play Japanese games and link up a Japanese account for my Switch to piggyback on).
The fact that I’m actually missing items is more stressful, though. But on another note... I got to try out the Taiko Drums for Switch~! You do need to hit it a bit harder then I’m used to to get it to register in the center, but not as hard for the side areas. Takes some getting used to, but I’d say was worth it. Makes it fun to have more options to play the game.

Hacked items receiving trouble and fixes
So, I guess you CAN have a bit of trouble with hacked acnl items even if you're just receiving them. A small story + guide to an error that I haven’t seen much of online.
This is not to scare you, but to help you in case it happens to you too. My game is back to working fine and my save is okay as well. So, no worries, you should be fine too. Here is what happened, the solution that worked, and a few of the other solutions that have been suggested to me because they might work as well!
Does this screen (lovingly surnamed “Black Screen of Death”) suddenly appear on your 3DS after launching New Leaf and keep you from loading your game, and only this game? I may have a few possible fixes for you! Click Read More and prepare yourself for a long one!
(image via technobuffalo.com)
MY SPECIFICS
I'm using an old EU 3DS XL, and a digital copy of ACNL. I'm on the latest firmware available (as of Jan 2018) and the 1.5 welcome amiibo update was properly installed about a year ago. I do not 'hack' this game and have never used homebrew on this (or any) 3DS.
WHAT HAPPENED
I picked up items I've requested from a helper via wifi. The items weren't anything special (amiibo furniture & clothes and a couple crowns) and the town I picked them up from was hacked, but I was in there for a maximum of two minutes and only saw the train station’s plaza and a few bushes (which weren't where they're supposed to, but I've seen way worse in dream towns without any problems).
When I got back to my town, everything was working as usual, but it seems that's where it started to go wrong in the system (I'll explain later why). I did a bunch of stuff, loaded another character, etc. I was able to save and quit, then I turned off my console the proper way and went about my day.
When I came back to my game about an hour later, I encountered an error. It happened as follows: I powered on the 3DS, the home menu loaded, and I pressed A to launch the game. After that the N3DS animation came up on the top screen as usual, but cut the end just a bit to show a black screen. The top screen was completely black while the bottom screen read in a white font on black background (in french for me obv, but I found pictures of the same error on US consoles):
“an error has occurred. Hold down the POWER button to turn off the power, then turn it on and try again.
If the problem persists, please contact your local customer support centre. For contact details, check the operations manuals or visit support.nintendo.com”.
(I put the picture of this error message at the top so you can see it before having to read this Narnia-sized novel)
I obeyed the screen and did the hard reset, and tried again. Once. Twice. Seven times. Still, the screen was popping up. I tried launching another game to try and determine who’s at fault here, and did not encounter any error, so New Leaf clearly didn’t want to cooperate.
WHAT'S GOING ON?
Before even requesting these hacked items, I had done a lot of research to make sure nothing bad could happen. While finding absolutely nothing was reassuring then, it now meant that I was on my own to fix this.
I started looking online for the specific error without hacking conditions and the possible fixes. After a while of googling, I came across a pretty old Nintendo fans message board in which someone asks how to fix the same error I encountered, only theirs happened a few days after updating their game to welcome amiibo. A moderator answered that the update can mess up if it detects items you’re not supposed to have through regular gameplay (implying that the OP hacked in items and didn’t specify it), and suggested to repair the update from the eShop. (turns out the mod was 12 and smarter than me so well done)
THE SOLUTION
So let’s repair our update! Since my console is in French and yours probably isn’t, I’m not going to pain you with my guessed translation of every option. Here are the steps from the Nintendo Website.
1.On the HOME menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon.
2.Once the Nintendo eShop loads, select the "Menu" icon from the top-left of the touch screen, and then scroll down through the list and select "Settings / Other."
3.Under the "History" section, select "Redownloadable Software”.
4."Select "Your Downloads", located in the bottom right corner.
5. Scroll through the list of titles to find the software you'd like to check for repair, and then click "Software Info". (NB: Here you’re trying to find the update. Usually the game and the update are just above each other, you can tell them apart by their name and size)
6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap "Repair Software," and then tap "OK". This process will check the download data for errors. The time it takes to check for errors will vary depending on the size of the software being checked. (about 10 minutes for me)
7. You will receive a prompt stating the software check was complete. Tap "OK", followed by "Download" to initiate the repair process. The repair process will download the software again without overwriting the software's save data. (NB: The message on your console at this point might also warn you that it could still erase your save data, mine did) Download time will vary depending on the software being repaired. (Big 30 min for me)
8. When finished, click "Continue" to return to the software info page.
So I did the ritual, said the magic words, called upon the gods. Let’s see if it worked. (If you tried this and it didn’t solve your problem, there are a few other possible fixes a bit lower. Look for the next bold title)
I load the home menu, start the game. The N3DS logo appears as I'm holding my breath. Finally, the logo disappears and leaves room to the beautiful train loading animation! Yaaay! We've done it. I can see Freya leaving her house as the Animal Crossing logo is appearing, hiding her face. My save is there, too! Let's see if everything’s in place.
Now, here's the weird part. It seems the game stopped working, or at least saving properly, long before I was actually made aware of it. Everything I did after the automatic save at the end of the wifi session to pick up my items seems to have vanished.
After that I tested a bunch of stuff to make sure everything was back to normal. The hacked items are there and working fine. I put the furniture in my house, wore the outfits, sent some of them in the mail to my other character. I saved and quit a bunch of times, every time turning off the console in between. Everything seems to be back in order and working as it did before.
WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?
We all know many things can cause the same problem and as such, the same problem may require different fixes. Here is what I have been suggested:
Sometimes it’s just a random thing and it never happens again. Obey the screen and restart your 3DS, it might just be this once.
Make sure you are using the latest firmware available. I know, it’s a pain to update, but it could very well solve all your problems. Update your firmware if needed.
You can also try and change your console system’s date back to the last time it worked without any issue. So if yesterday you played and everything was fine, change your 3DS’ date to yesterday. I have no clue why this works, but it was suggested to me and upon research it turns out it can solve a bunch of problems.
Check if your SD card is working properly. Turn off the 3DS and take the SD card out, inspect it (gently), maybe use the good ol’ Blow on it™ method. Put it back in the console and try launching your game again.
IN THE END
In conclusion, the lesson I have learned here is that it might be better to get a digital copy over a physical one if you can (although in New Leaf's case the update would still be on the SD card if your cartridge is from a time before welcome amiibo, so you could repair it as well).
But then again, maybe the SD card was at fault in this case and it could have been avoided by using a cartridge. Sooo... I guess there’s no lesson to learn in the end. Sorry kids. I hope I may have helped you with this!

How to: Edit your ACNL town from a mobile device (iOS-specific)
So, while I was in the bath I had a sudden revelation: Getting your saves onto a mobile device and using the online editor should be very, very easy. My hypothesis was correct, and while this tutorial will be using iOS-centric apps you can likely find substitutes for whatever you have on hand.
I was going to make a proof video, but I don’t trust this screen recorder very well so...
Before we get into the read-more, there are a few requirements:
FTPManager (iOS)
Dropbox (iOS)
Puffin (iOS)
3DS (that already has homebrew)
FTPd / FTBrony (or really any FTP client for 3DS, but I like FTPd)
JKSM (or a save manager of your choice, but I highly recommend this one as it seems to have less error)
I would still recommend just using a computer if you can, but I know a lot of people don’t have one or have constant access to one so I hope this can help.
*As of 4/23/2017, if your system firmware is on 11.4 and you do not have custom firmware you will not be able to access your save. I’m not sure if/when this will be patched, but this tutorial will not be a way around it.
(picture-heavy under the read more)
Alright, into the good stuff. I’m going to make the assumption that before continuing, you have already downloaded everything I mentioned above. Additionally, I will assume you already have the save you want to edit backed up.
Now, let’s launch the 3DS FTP client of your choice. By the way, FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, and with it we can transfer data wirelessly. I don’t really know the ins and outs of it technologically, but it’s kind of like the Micro SD transfer n3DS systems come with!
If you haven’t done this before, it might look kind of weird. And that’s OK! Our most important information are the blue numbers at the top, which should be in XXX.XXX.X.XXX:XXXX format. This is your 3DS’s Host and Port, respectively.
Next, I want you to open FTPManager on your mobile device. It should look something like this.
Click the “+” in the top right corner, and select “FTP”.
You’ll want to fill in the information similar to this, I haven’t messed with the protocol option and it works fine. If you scroll down you will find a “Login as...” section, I don’t know what it is but filling that in helped me reduce errors. It doesn’t matter what you make the user name or password, I just keysmash.
(Remember to make your Host and Port what it displays on your 3DS, not what I put in the image).
Now, press “Save” and it will bring you back to the main menu. You should see your 3DS under “Connections”.
Assuming you are still in FTPd and it says “Ready!”, you can now begin connecting to your system! Just click the connection you made and it will begin connecting. Sometimes it can take a few minutes, FTP can be finicky. If nothing shows up just wait.
You should now see the contents of your SD card like I’ve shared below. You can tap on folders to open them up. At this point, I want you to navigate to where your save went.
As you can see, if you swipe left a menu will show up. You’ll want to push the left-most option with the arrow, this should pop-up.. Meaning, your save folder is being sent to your mobile device!
I was able to have my files transferred in less than 10 seconds with my connection. The files aren’t really big, so if it’s taking awhile to send take a look at your 3DS. If it throws a connection error you may FTPManager set-up wrong (Double-check you have a username and password set-up, that fixed all my errors.)
You can exit FTPd on your 3DS at this time.
OK! So, now that the save is on your phone, we have to send it to Dropbox. Go back to the main menu in FTPManager, select “Local” > “Downloads” and voila! Your save is there. Open that folder up, and select “garden_plus.dat”. It should say that the .dat file type is not supported, and ask what you want to do with it.
Select “Open In”, and pick “Copy to Dropbox”. It’ll open Dropbox and ask where you want to save the file, pick wherever and then choose to save. It should then show you where you saved it
We’re all done with that, next is the fun part!
Open up Puffin. Unlike Safari, this web browser is able to run the save editor. (I forgot to mention this, but you see the three lines in the top right corner of Puffin down below? Click that and make sure “Request desktop site” is enabled.) Head to the website for the save editor, choose file, and there should be a Dropbox option.
Locate your garden_plus file that we added to Dropbox, select it, and wait a moment for the magic to happen!
You are now in the save editor, due to size constraints things might look a little weird but if you scroll you should find the map! From here on out you can use it as you please, if you want to place objects all it takes is a tap on the square you choose. It might become a bit blurry, but hey! It works.
For tutorial sake, I put some white cosmos near my house.
Save, and choose Dropbox. This will take you to a log-in page, and if you’re like me you might have a lot of difficulty. When I tried logging in it would tell me about a captcha but I didn’t see one. Turn off the “Request desktop site” option and it should fix this. Let Puffin access dropbox, and it should now save your edited garden_plus.dat file in dropbox!
You don’t have to go in that menu, the image’s purpose is to show you where the file should end up. Just tap on it and it should say “No Preview Available”.
Tap the “...” in the top corner, select “Export”, “Open in...”, “Copy to FTPManager”. A new “Save to...” window will open up, and we’ll detour for a second.
Grab your 3DS and open FTPd or a FTP client of your choice again. Back in FTPManager on your mobile device (while still saving), choose your 3DS under connections. (Remember, this could potentially take a bit. Don’t feel discouraged if it takes awhile to connect, leave it be.)
Navigate to your save folder, and save garden_plus.dat there. Again, I know we’re overriding our back-up, but just wait. We’ll fix that.
You can now go ahead and ensure that it saved correctly by revisiting the save folder and checking the time-stamps. If your garden_plus.dat file is more recent than everything else, you’re golden and you’ve successfully put your edited save file back onto your 3ds!
Now we just have to test it, and I won’t really include any photos for this part as I expect you to know how to use JKSM.
Exit the FTP program on your 3DS and launch your save manager of choice. Before you import your save, please take a chance to export a new save. If anything goes wrong, this will save you. Now, import your edited save and launch ACNL. If all goes well, you should see your changes in game!
This technique is a bit convoluted at first, but once you have everything set-up you should be able to save edit from a mobile device lickity-split. I really hope this helps users who aren’t able to use a computer very often, if any steps are confusing/unclear or you get stuck, please send me a message and I will try to work it out!
Thanks for reading & have fun!
