A huge, huge thank you to @whistlelabs for making a fantastic product. This morning I let Elektra out to potty and there was a deer in our front yard. By time I realized she wasn’t in the back with me, she was probably half a mile down the road. I started calling her from the front, but after 5 minutes I realized she wasn’t anywhere near the house anymore. She’s never gone off in the direction of the road before. I tossed Lily inside and threw on some shoes and got in my car and started driving around. I made it about two blocks before I realized I had to use her GPS. It took a few moments to locate so I made my way back to my house, but it found her another half mile away, next to the busy 4 lane road!!! Since it’s 6:30 am it’s getting to be traffic heavy so I panicked. Sorry to the people I cut off, but I’ve seen hit by car animals and it doesn’t end well. I drove a loop until it found her back towards my house again and at this point it’s been 20 minutes. I pulled over on the side of the road and waited for it to update again and happened to catch a glimpse of her crossing the street ahead of me. I jumped out of my car and ran after her through some woods. She was going the wrong way from my house but I heard her tags and martingale jingling (this is why I love chain martingales!) and I followed her to someone’s house. She wasn’t answering my recall efforts (Adrenaline? She blatantly didn’t hear me until I was 3 feet away. Maybe she was hearing my voice echoing.) but I found her jumping on someone’s backdoor and grabbed her collar. I have no doubts that I wouldn’t have found her safe if it wasn’t for our Whistle, since clearly she can’t recognize our house and since I was looking in the wrong direction. If anyone wants a GPS collar attachment, I wholeheartedly recommend this one!

So the boys have Fitbits to track their activity. 😂🤣 Through a petcare partnership with their vet at Banfields, the boys are part of this program that provides the Whistle Fit by @whistlelabs that attaches to their collar, stays charged for about a week and tracks their data in order to keep their health on track. This project is tracking the relationship between their actions with their wellness, and I can see the results of their tracking directly from the app. As you can see, Bentley likes to lay around a lot 👎and Mazzi is the opposite👍.
