pretty   much   the   only   reason   they   have   another   child   is   because   of   gwen..   ercole   wholeheartedly   didn't   want   another   kid.   he   got   his   son,   he   was   fine.   but   gwen   was   falling   off   of   her   high   of   having   a   baby   and   feeling   accomplished   as   a   mother   —   EJ   began   having   a   mind   of   his   own   and   became   less   of   a   distraction   and   more   of   an   actual   whiny   thing   she   had   to   take   care   of.   after   he's   2   yo   he   loses   his   novel,   and   gwen   spirals   a   little...   she's   been   off   drugs   while   he   was   a   baby,   completely   sober.   so   when   she's   set   her   mind   on   wanting   another   kid,   she's   SET.   with   nothing   to   fog   her   mind   or   memory,   she's   able   to   manipulate   and   get   her   way   so   ..   she   uses   blackmail   to   get   ercole   to   impregnate   her   again.   she   knows   about   all   the   gay   shit   he   does,   secret   meetings   with   ciccio   (since   they   do   make   up),   sleeping   with   men,   she   could   ruin   everything   if   she   wanted,   whether   that   be   by   telling   ciccio's   wife   or   telling   the   media   and   tearing   down   the   company   erc's   responsible   for.   and   erc   recognizes   this,   so   he   gives   gwen   what   she   wants   to   shut   her   up   and   keep   it   under   wraps,   protect   his   reputation   and   his   very   life.   i   imagine   the   sex   was   pretty   much   the   same,   if   not   a   little   less   totally   miserable   for   gwen?   i   just   know   ercole   wasn't   any   happier.   the   birth   of   beatrice   gave   gwen   another   two   or   so   years   of   sobriety   before   bea   loses   her   useless   baby   charm   and   gwen   turns   to   drugs   again.   no   more   kids   after   that!
