Actually, you know, that post about Hen and Karen got me thinking about why something about this last episode bothered me so much. Because I've been on a high with it, but also a lot of things felt very off, and I was focused on the lack of development for the madney storyline.
But actually, the lack of Hen in this last episode was. not a good look. Putting this big focus on how queer people did less than noble things to protect themselves, and how Tommy’s not actually a bad guy for it and making it about fucking Abby Clark, while ignoring Tommy’s behavior toward Hen, who was an out, black lesbian during that same time. AND THEN having Buck put Tommy on a fucking pedestal as if he was the one out there fighting for queer rights instead of making Hen's life hell to apparently protect himself.
All while giving Hen absolutely zero role in this storyline??
What the actual FUCK, 911??
I don't actually think I've ever been this angry at this show before, but this is fucking disgusting.

hi!! holds up hand. in a more ideal situation (interpret that how you wish, maybe liike in the leaving together ending?) who do you think would broken have the healthiest relationsip with? both other voices and vessels.
oh, what a fun little question! upon reread i realize you might've meant a romantic relationship but i wrote this with mostly friendships in mind. however, i literally adore every broken pairing so i suppose this could still be read either way ♡
might be a little unexpected, but i imagine for 1-on-1 settings that broken would be hanging out with cheated most of time. ironically, where broken's bitterness tends to be ignored, cheated is way more friendly than people give him credit for.
broken frequently laments he's never been listened to, but cheated actually does listen to him! when you choose to surrender in the arms race, the other voices are against it, but cheated says it's worth a shot, and he's never harsh when speaking to him like the others. out of everyone he'd probably understand why broken has completely given up, and that he has good intentions despite. i can only think he'd be upset if forced into the apotheosis route (blacktabbygames on my hands and knees, please please please-), but most of his rage would be directed at the princess for rigging the game than anything the voices did.
i imagine cheated probably gently urges them to hang out together if broken's up for it. they'd do little activites like cleaning the church together, board games, sitting quietly as the rain falls, going out on a little rowboat on the lake to do some fishing and accepting their bad luck when it inevitably capsizes. divorced dad energy as i've seen someone say.
oh! as a bonus, for my own voices, chichi always huddles broken into his coat or offers it whenever it gets crowded since he knows broken doesn't do well with being looked at + broken reminds him of his family (flinching) :3c
hmm, as for the other voices, i think broken would have a nicest friendship with smitten and paranoid but they'd tend to clash more. which isn't a bad thing! smitten would definitely go overboard trying to cheer broken up and make him feel a little uneasy, while broken would undoubtedly assert that they are not destined lovers on equal footing with the princess, but i think they would still enjoy each other's company despite their differences. guys hated for their swag (unapologetically killing tlq).
paranoid meanwhile i think of as an exasperated mother hen. he wouldn't be overtly friendly like smitten or cheated but the first to check him over for any harm. have you eaten today? did you shower? you're making gloomy expression again, what are you thinking about? we need to go shopping later, your clothes are all ragged- and other clucking. the two are always pushing and pulling against eachother but i think of para as his closest friend because of it. tough love, baby!
as for the vessels⸻
WOUNDED WILD. ITS WOUNDED WILD AND IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(they make so violent. congratulations brokewild for inventing heterophobia 🎉)
i sometimes see posts where opportunist is jealous of witch/thorn and i think we should give tower the same treatment. her weird ass should stay grumbling by her temple's window as she watches broken and his friend clumsily dance in the garden. literally the virgin vs chad meme with these two.
i like to think in an au where they're seperate from shifting quiet that beast-wild would struggle with her personhood, and perhaps try seeking forgiveness from a deity since she can't forgive herself. she meets broken and they become sad little kindred spirits found whispering excitedly in the backpew.
and last but not least damsel! dambroken are quite similar characters in the sense they're both highly subservient to their lovers to the point of figuratively becoming nothing, so i always think of their interactions as the "and so, they were both bottoms" meme.
i actually think they'd actually clash a bit upon meeting. damsel's heart would break seeing her husband in such a sad state (in her mind everyone is just collectively married), and broken would probably be a little offput by how submissive she is despite being a princess. he'd get flustered if she tried to help him cook or clean and send her away, and outside the door you can see her mind kicking into overdrive trying to figure out how she's expected to make him happy if she can't do anything.
and maybe finally they'd have a quiet bonding moment where they sit and talk about their time in the construct. killing your lover and allowing your lover kill you seriously would have messed them up, and sharing pain with another lessens it. atleast a little.
tl;dr i love them your honor

more funtime found family au stuff but this time focusing on funtime freddy and michael's relationship. it's incredibly rambly and turns into off-kilter dialogue but i gotta get this off my chest.
tw mentioned child abuse/death
• doesn't actually like michael (at first) even tho i draw them hanging around each other a lot
• bon bon is the only reason he does loaf around him. (bon bon and bonnet being the only ones who like Michael in the beginning.) They're attached to each other so it's inevitable that they would hang around mikey.
• ft freddy plays really mean spirited jokes on michael bc he's not allowed to harm him. he has to get real creative. (ft freddy has a lot of anger inside of him. people write him off as being dumb and goofy but really that's just a mask that he put up so he didn't scare people away. of course the funtimes know how he is, knows who he is right to his core bc they're all connected on a deeper/technological level.)
• (slaps funtime freddy. this bear can fit so much trauma and abandonment issues in him!)
• can be incredibly vindictive when he wants to be and takes out a lot of his agression on Michael. michael shares the afton name (bc he sure as hell doesn't look like william in my au lol) and that alone is enough for ft freddy to bully him.
• (the funtimes blame william for abandoning them so ft freddy takes it especially personal when his ankle biter comes around to "liberate" them. and on some deeper level freddy is just terrified that michael will abandon them all, just like willy did. he never voices this of course. opting to show his apprehension and fear in a more destructive way, pushing Michael further away.)
• canon ft freddy: sinister but still goofy and knows how to have a good time
my ft freddy: goofy and repressed anger issues, doesn't know how to enjoy himself without causing someone some kinda pain.
• michael gets fed up with being terrorized eventually and confronts him, and ft freddy drops the silly act for a bit just ready to blow up at him. (he can't even place why he's still so angry at michael when really he's been nothing but hospitable and accomodating to their wants and needs but fuck he's just so wound up he doesn't know what to do) michael compares him to william during the argument (cruel and vindictive just like william wanted) and ft freddy nearly rings his neck, absolutely seething but bon bon doesnt let that happen of course. (idk if this is confirmed canon but bon bon was designed to placate freddy. he raises his voice even slightly and bon bon's petting his face, stopping him from getting even more agressive)
• ft freddy shuts down after the confrontation ends (emotionally, anyway) and the blow out itself is completely anti climatic, nobody getting hurt. he ends up isolating himself from the others with bon bon hovering around like a concerned mother hen. Baby and the others give him space but michael (after he cools down anyways) won't leave him alone.
• See the thing is: Michael understands. Michael understands more than anyone what it's like to feel so deeply, what it's like to hate and hate and to keep hating until that rage is your whole life. It's suffocating. and he had to deal with that all on his own, choking on his own grief and rage without anyone to guide him. (his brother is dead bc of him and he carries that with him everywhere he goes, in everything he does.)
• They're living in the countryside of France at this point in time, far off from any wandering eyes, a thick forest surrounding their home. Freddy has a few hiding spots that he scouted out within the first few days of staying there. And that's where Michael finds him, hiding out in a small alcove by the a creek, throwing rocks at the trees (and sometimes wildlife).
• freddy doesn't aknowledge him, ignoring him like a child would and bon bon frets nervously between them, not wanting another fight to break out. Michael tells them that he's not here to fight anymore, he just wants to talk. you like to talk, don't you? and freddy doesn't say anything, running his fingers through the dirt, absentmindedly.
• michael asks bon bon to leave so that they can have a private convo and bon bon freaks out like absolutely not, he might hurt you and michael asks freddy directly like "are you going to hurt me?" freddy still isn't talkative, and he's rigid when he shakes his head no after a bit of silence. Bon Bon asks if he's alright with him leaving and freddy just shrugs, still staring at nothing in the distance. bon bon hesitates for a few moments before finally leaving, telling Michael to call out to him if he's in danger but michael rushes him along.
• it's just them now, nothing but the sounds of nature around them. michael asks how he's feeling and freddy shrugs again. Michael strikes up a one sided conversation, stepping closer and closer to him over time not really getting any kinda response out of him but eventually, during his rambling, freddy finally looks at him and says "Y-You just don't get-get it." and then goes back to the silent treatment.
• Michael's quiet, having made his way up to standing right next to freddy (he's only a tiny bit taller than him when he's just sitting like that). he nods his head, considering something for a while until finally he goes "Did I ever tell you about what it was like? Ya know. Being William Afton's golden child?" freddy doesn't say anything but he pauses from drawing circles in the dirt, tilts his head just a fraction to let mikey know he's listening.
• michael stares at the creek. "He wasn't the most outwardly loving father. Wasn't really the nicest one, either. But, I wanted his approval so bad, I'd do anything for it." Freddy slowly turns his head to watch him carefully. that's got his attention. "I did a bunch of stupid shit back then, all cause I wanted to be noticed by him. But all that attention went to my little-" and michael draws in a sudden breath, pained. stays silent for a moment, working up the courage to speak. "I did something awful to my brother. All for my father. And it's an awful thing to say but his death didn't matter. Pops didnt bat an eye and Mom was too far gone by that point after Elizabeth...." he looks back in the direction of the cottage. "Well.... you know what happened to Elizabeth." Freddy's stare is hard and unyielding. "He's gone now and I was the only one who cared enough. His fuckin' abuser cared more for his passing than his own father did."
• "He threw me into the basement. Did you know that?" Michael bounces from one foot to another, anxiety written into his very bones. he's lost in his rambling now, having never spoken these words out loud to anyone. "I killed his son and he locked me away in the dark for three years." Freddy fully turns to give Michael his undivided attention, stock still, hanging off of his every word. "I got out. Eventually. I ran away and lived on the streets for years until someone got a hold of me. Told me my old man was missing, presumed dead. Got a pretty penny from the fazbear business he co-owned with Mr. Emily. Things were going good, I guess. I was overwhelmed for the most part, didn't do anything other than bounce around from hotels every few days. In some way, I felt like he was still out there, watching me. I just kept running. And then i found out about you." He glances at freddy and looks away quickly when he finds an unblinking visage staring back. "Found out about all of you. Locked away in a storage facility for over 30 years. In the dark. All alone." an incredibly long silence stretches out between them, freddy fidgeting, hyperaware of every noise going on around them.
• "You think I don't get it. But I do. I think I understand you more than anyone could." Michael's staring back at him, raw emotion across his face, eyes soft with empathy and that's what makes Freddy turn away from him. Suddenly uncomfortable. "I don't want to fight with you. Not you. Not Ballora, or Foxy, or Eli-" He visibly winces, but regains his composure. "...I just... need you to understand that I want to help."
• Freddy's never been so quiet, and it's such an odd sight. Michael's not sure if he should say anything else or if he should leave the bear alone. the bear speaks up, finally "W-We could've kill-killed you."
• "That was always a possibility, yeah. I woulda deserved it." Freddy's not sure if he likes the way Michael talks about himself sometimes. "I needed to get you guys out of there, though. That was more important than whatever could've happened to me." Michael huffs. "Besides, if I hadn't bailed you guys out then I would've never gone to Paris. Ballora has good taste in real estate, I think." and despite everything, freddy lets out a sudden breath that could've been mistaken for a sensible chuckle. Michael smiles anyway.
• Things settle down afterwards, though there's no bite to Freddy's jokes now. They're not as close as Michael wants, Freddy still keeping his distance, keeping his walls up but it's something.
• Freddy starts watching horror movies with him late into the night and until dawn. Doesn't let Michael sleep in afterwards and he might just regret this but it makes Freddy happy. Things go back to normal in the cottage, as normal as things can be for a motley troupe like them anyways. Michael starts laughing at his jokes more.

The Magnus Archives ‘The Eyewitnesses’ (S03E02) Analysis
Sorry for the upload a bit ahead of schedule, but I’m going to be busy for the rest of the evening so won’t be able to do my usual PSA and then release of my meta.  I figured I’d post this, and you can all read it once you’ve heard the episode!
----
Ohoho!  That was the noise I made as I listened to this episode. It wasn’t what I expected.  It was what I needed.  Martin may be my sweet summer child, and the one I am deeply emotionally invested in, but there is another character who just claimed my love too, for all the opposite reasons.  In this episode we hear Daisy’s interrogations (such as they are), feel heartily bad for Martin, and finally witness a sliver of the power of the Beholding. Come on in to hear what I thought of ‘The Eyewitnesses’.
First off, cute pun, Jonny Sims.  Eye-Witnesses, is it?  Elias Bouchard is certainly a witness of the Eye.  Tim is heartily in denial of it, Martin has somehow managed to perform below its notice (probably why he’s lasted so long at the Institute) while still being deeply entangled with it, and Jon is flailing against it with all his might.
But Elias lives it. And through him, Daisy got a taste of what the Eye could do as well.
Daisy is definitely establishing herself as a proper antagonist.  Not a smart one; Elias is quick to point out how sloppy she’s been and what tunnel-vision she’s had in this affair.  It seems like her modus operandi isn’t finding out what really happened, but rather simply finding the most convenient person to blame and pinning it on them.  No matter how little evidence, or how many other suspects.  She zeroes in, and she takes them out in a permanent way.  She’s brutal, but she’s a blunt instrument.
And we could sense that even before Elias stated it outright.  Her bullying of Martin set a nasty tone, as did his incredulous shock. Martin is the sort who would want to believe that the police were out there doing good.  Finding the police’s wetworks woman, who is sent in to take care of supernatural problems without oversight or consequence, was a horrible shock to him.  And though I had known she was dangerous after learning what she did to vampires, it’s very different to hear her turn that sort of cruelty on someone like Martin. Tim fared much better with her, but their goals aligned.  He was more than willing to believe that Sims not only killed Leitner, but also killed Sasha.
And of course, hearing their statements, as well as that of Elias himself, highlights the quiet drive they all have to call them ‘Statements,’ a subtle but cool evidence of just how pervasive the power of the Beholding is in all of them.  Even Tim, who is the most distant from the Beholding (as evidenced by his ability to attempt to tell his story off-tape) had to use that word.  Martin was compelled not only to use the word, but immediately to begin his interview the same way Sims would have taken a statement. And he seemed genuinely shocked when Daisy insisted he wasn’t to give a Statement, as though using the tape recorder for anything other than that purpose was inconceivable to him.  Is the Beholding’s hold on Martin more powerful because he’s been there longer, or is this more evidence that Martin is likely to be the interim Archivist, or even slated to fill the post permanently if Jon doesn’t return?  I suspect we may find out.
Elias, on the other hand … oh, after hearing Daisy bully Martin, it was fun to hear Elias so effortlessly take control of the interview (or statement.  Even he has to say it at least once, though he’s better at hiding the word in a pile of others).  The fact that he immediately and without question assumes that Sims will come back, and his cool statement of “he doesn’t have the stomach” for killing both made me grin.  The man is certainly a homicidal horror, but he’s our homicidal horror.
The statement regarding Daisy (told in her own words, but by Elias, both channeling her story and ripping it from her in one go) was a hell of a thing, especially Elias’ lilt of mocking throughout.  We know that she’s been called Daisy since she was small and got a scar on her back that the doctors said looked like a Daisy.  She liked the notion that something delicate was being used to cover something bloody and painful.  It made her feel strong, and that’s one of her driving motivations.
It sounds like she was a bit of a bully even in childhood, and this directly resulted in her friend’s possession by the Wounded Man or whatever it was.  Her ability to compartmentalize him, to go from ‘friend’ to ‘not to be trusted’ almost immediately really highlights her lack of concern for or deep emotional attachment to others.  There was no sense of regret, though there does seem to be a degree of guilt.  Not about his murder, of course, but rather of his initial possession.  After that, he was simply a monster to her, to be dealt with accordingly.
And she’s dealt with quite a number of humans in the same manner.  She started out killing vampires, but seems to have branched out to anyone touched by the supernatural in a way she deems potentially harmful. I have no doubt she will try to kill Sims rather than apprehend him, and it seems Elias has the same belief, and will even egg it on to precipitate a confrontation.
I like that she’s the sort of villain that women are rarely aloud to be.  She’s not bright, she’s cruel, she’s brutal, and she’s using her position of power to cover up past misdeeds.  This is the sort of role almost exclusively given to men, so hearing a woman take it on is a fun twist on the dogged and corrupt pursuer trope.
Martin Blackwood
We learned that he and Sims were considered ‘close’.  Really? I suppose we only ever get things from Sims’ perspective, so Martin’s mother-henning, tea-making, and sandwich-bringing might well have appeared like closeness, especially since Sims wasn’t apparently social with anyone at the Institute but Martin.  Martin certainly sounded pleased by it, even through his worry.
We also know that Martin was likely painfully honest with Daisy in his statement, and that he trusted her to be acting in the right.  This, as much as anything, seems to have driven Martin firmly into believing Sims didn’t kill either Leitner or Sasha.  He’s adamant about both of those things, even standing up to Tim about how strange the entire situation has become.
As much as people go on about how smart Tim is, Martin is the one who seems to be readily putting pieces together.  Daisy was rattled after her meeting with Elias, so Martin knows something more is going on.  He also knows that Sims wouldn’t have killed Sasha, and that there were enough strange happenings that day that the ‘old man’s’ death could have been due to any number of those things.
Jon still has an honest ally and friend in Martin, if he realizes it.  If he wants allies, I would start there.
Tim Stoker
Boy, but the well of bitterness in Tim runs deep.  He was more than ready to believe that Sims killed both Leitner and Sasha, and needed no encouragement to cooperate with Daisy.  We know Martin told her the unvarnished truth about his encounters with Michael and the Not-Them, both of whom seem more than capable of killing Leitner. Given that Tim saw both of them too, his willingness to believe that Sims was still the murderer is interesting. We knew Tim was angry with Sims and the situation, but I had no idea he was angry enough that he no longer cares about evidence.  He wants Sims to be guilty, because Sims is the personification of everything that’s gone wrong in his life.  He’s willing to ignore evidence, to go after Martin, and be an all-around dick right up until the end because of that anger.  Tim’s been through a lot, no doubt, but he’s really just as bad as Sims at realizing that those around him have also gone through hell.
We saw a little redeeming moment at the end, at least, with his apology to Martin.  He did seem to feel genuinely remorseful for being such an ass to Martin, but not enough to stay and really talk about it.  And in that last conversation, I saw some really unsettling parallels between him and Daisy.  Tim likes to feel in control.  He likes his freedom and he likes to be able to live his life the way he wants.  The Institute has penned him in.  Jon mistreated him, broke his trust, and barely got a slap on the wrist for it.  And this was on top of Tim’s own psychological baggage after the Prentiss incident.
And all that bottled-up anger and lost control and lost freedom is boiling over at this point, without his control.  He’s lashing out at Martin because he’s convenient, just like Daisy is looking for Jon because he’s convenient.
I hope Tim can dig himself out of this.  I hope that he realizes that Martin and even Jon aren’t to blame for his situation, that they’re all trapped, and that him being cruel doesn’t help anyone, and certainly doesn’t regain an ounce of the power that’s been taken from him.
Elias Bouchard
Jesus, but he’s fucking magnetic to listen to.  They’ve kept this character well under wraps until this episode, letting him spend almost two seasons as a fussy bureaucrat, almost inept in his handling of the Prentiss situation, but here we finally get to hear him take full and effortless control.
He all but dangled his guilt in Daisy’s face.  He dared her to arrest him, laughed when she called Leitner a ‘John Doe’ and just had complete and utter contempt for her and the interview.  And it’s easy to see why.  She clearly has such tunnel vision for Jon, despite what she’s seen and the evidence of the supernatural that could explain the crime, that he can just wave what he’s done in her face and she won’t even notice it.
And his going on the offensive against her for Jon, especially in light of her treatment of Martin and likely the rest of the staff, also speaks of a degree of both protectiveness and expectation.  She is in his domain, mistreating his people, and even if he won’t move against her directly, he will show her contempt.  He will stand up for Jon, in full expectation that Jon will hear the tape eventually, and understand that Elias may kill outside threats, but he does protect his own. Viciously, if necessary.
Of course, he also told Daisy that he was going to leave Jon to her discretion, and that she should kill him fast if she decides she has to, because Elias doesn’t know what he’s capable of.  I think that’s another moment of his double-speak.  Elias is angling for Jon to become something more than he is right now. Elias doubts Jon is capable of murder, but is hoping that he is.  Daisy attributed that statement to the death of Leitner, but I think that Elias wants Sims to kill Daisy.  Does he perhaps want Jon to be forced to tap into the Beholding’s power to escape her? It’s clear he’s playing a long game here, and we’re only beginning to see the shape of it.  He’s seen Daisy for what she is, flayed her story out, and found in her the sort of mindless cruelty that’s easy to use, but unpredictable enough that the Beholding would still find her pursuit of Jon interesting.
And because Elias wants Jon to hear that tape, he wants Jon to understand that as well.  Elias has become deliciously complicated, both protecting Jon and putting him in harm’s way.  And he wants Jon to know both, and maybe to understand both.
I think Elias may well be moving into a much more central role this season, and I couldn’t be happier. He’s the sort of elegant, amoral character that keeps a story like this fun.  And seeing him go into full Beholding mode—knowing where Sims is and who he’s with (is that because of the Beholding, or is Georgie neck deep in this?), knowing all the strings being pulled, knowing exactly how sloppy Daisy has become and how foolish she’s being, and finally just ripping that statement from her and presenting it—holy shit.  We really haven’t gotten to see yet anyone but Jane Prentiss who was completely synced up to one of these Great Old Ones, and she was going crazy because of it.  Elias is likely not playing with a full deck, but it hasn’t affected his intelligence. If anything, the Beholding has made him smarter, sharper, the perfect funnel of weaponized knowledge.
He’s terrifying.  And I love him.
Conclusions
That was a hell of an episode, just as good as ‘A Guest for Mr Spider’ in a completely different way. We’ve established a new and dangerously focused antagonist.  We’ve shown the state of our archival team, with Martin firmly supporting Jon and Tim furious enough at both of them that he’s willing to go along with Daisy.  And we’ve seen what Elias is really capable of. If Sims collects statements, Elias can rip them out of people, feeding them back their worst memories and deepest guilts.  The notion that the high priest of the Beholding would use knowledge as a weapon is no surprise, but it was a hell of a thing to hear it in action finally.
We are in for a ride, with Jon, Martin, Tim, and Daisy all stumbling about in the dark, and Elias holding all the cards.  Do I think Sims will return to the archives?  Yes.  The question will be the state he’s in when he does, and what sort of collateral damage Daisy is willing to rack up to take her shot at him.  Georgie could be in trouble, or she could be much more dangerous than either Sims or Daisy suspect.  We will certainly see.

Mama!Ignis taking care of the Chocobros.
I’m going to assume this is Fem!Ignis you’re talking…and even if not, I’ll assume that anyway because I was triggered and I love Fem!Ignis, okay, I regret nothing. :)
(Beware a Read More line ahead, mobile users)
*cracks fingers*
Fem!Ignis, like our canon Ignis, is the best acting as nurse for the rest of the gang.
You’d think canon Ignis had a very overprotective motherly instinct?
Imagine Fem!Ignis.
She literally has a mother instinct, deep in the back of the mind, but it’s there.
She behaves cold and harsh with the guys most of the times, but really she loves them very dearly, and ain’t anyone lying a single finger on any of them without her knowing, glaring, and watching that you don’t press a single inch harder.
Ignis is going to set you on fire if you ever mess with her boys.
“I’m a year older than you, Iggy, I can take care of myself. I’m not a child.”
“Oh, can you? Okay. Good luck.”
Gladio’s dying without her.
It was a mistake acting more adult that her, you’re clearly mistaken, Gladio, I’m sorry.
“Iggy…I’m sorry…please stop ignoring me now… :’(”
Ignis is just putting him in place, but inside she’s really so relieved to be able to look after him like before.
Ignis has three different medical sets, each prepared according to the chocobro it’s tagged for.
Because, yes, each medical kit has a name to it (Noct, Prom, Gladio).
All have the basic necessary things, but each is prepared according to what’s most usual to happen/sicken the boys.
Noct’s kit is prepared for the pain in his knee/back.
Prom’s kit is prepared with stuff to ease stomachache and colds.
Gladio’s kit is prepared for bruises, cuts, concussions, bodyache, colds and stomachace.
Gladio’s a mess, tbh.
Remember this is Fem!Ignis, people. (Just casual reminder)
Ignis is attending each just like a mother would, despite the tiny age gap between her and each bro.
Prompto, more than the rest, wakes her motherly instinct a little more.
Not that she spoils him more or better, it’s just a different sensation, you know?
Ignis is so used to Noctis, it’s like attending a brother. So used to Gladio, it’s like attending theloveofherlife the best friend. But Prom, appearing out of the blue later in her life, with a blossoming, happy youth Ignis herself was denied while growing up, so juvenile, so adorable, so naïve at times, it’s just…different.
Ignis’ treatment with the guys if they’re hurt/sick is…soft.
They are so used to being constantly frightened of her, because she’s like the rudest and coldest, a 20 y.o. that puts 50 y.o.’s in Council in their damn places, she can make you cry with one sentence, will make you beg with only one look of her eyes, has this damn ass scary glare where she just raises an eyebrow and looks above the edge of her glasses, and she’s definitely slapping and knocking everyone out in training…
…that the treatment she offers when taking care of them is kind of odd.
It’s like a different person.
Once, Prompto had this very awful fever and rambled/digressed and asked her if she was “Ignis’ sweet twin I had no idea existed.”
Nope. It’s really Ignis.
Like, she’s going to speak soft, will leave the sass at a side for a moment, and while she’s not spoiling them or sharing jokes or doing stupid voices, it’s not like her usual “I’ll murder you if you move” treatment.
Fem!Ignis is making sure they stay in bed, warm, comfy, eating well.
Fem!Ignis is encouraging Noctis through the pain of his knee.
She’s treating it and helping him move it.
Noctis is hissing and groaning.
Sometimes it gets very bad and he can’t help but fall back onto the bed and hide the face in his hands, ashamed of crying.
Ignis is softly murmuring “it’s okay, you’re doing great. It’s going to be over, soon. See? It’s okay. You’re being strong. Nothing wrong on crying, Noct. Please, do not hold yourself back. You’re doing fine.”
Noctis is always calming thanks to her.
Ignis is going to make sure Noct has a good rest and is super comfy.
She’s not giving in to cooking pancakes for him, though.
Well, okay, only sometimes.
Prompto gets constant stomachaches out of eating junk food.
Ignis is going to lecture him with an endless speech…
…while attending him like a mom.
She’s really upset he insists on eating that garbage,so she really wants to lecture him, but her actions insist on being that of a caring mommy.
She’s giving Prom his medicine.
She’s asking him to be careful when lying down.
She’s going to prepare a special soup to ease the pain in his entrails.
And she’s definitely staying there until he both finishes it, and falls asleep.
Her motherly side shows more when Prom catches a cold.
You know, his…biology/genetics weren’t supposed to develop at all,so I guess his system must be kind of weak to that stuff.
So, constantly catching colds.
Sometimes it gets very bad, but no matter the size of it, Fem!Ignis is going to attend him.
She doesn’t want him to get out of bed.
She’s going to prepare the damn soup because it always makes him good.
She’s going to check his temperature and act accordingly to what’s required.
While Ignis is moving away from the side of the bed constantly, to clean around or cook, or entertain herself with some TV or reading or paperwork, she’s not leaving for the night.
She wants to keep checking the state/development of the fever across the night.
Ignis is waking up at certain intervals during the night to check up on him, and to change the damp cloth on Prom’s forehead to keep the fever cool.
She really doesn’t mind being taken from the already little hours of sleep she’s got.
Fem!Ignis, when Prompto’s asleep (because she’s refusing to let him see it), will caress the boy’s hair sometimes.
It’s the motherly side, Ignis, don’t worry, it’s normal.
Gladio… *sigh*
Gladio’s in constant need of her.
His daily rough training plus some goes on patrolling and/or few but eventual cases in which he’s caught protecting Noct or anyone else has him constantly ending up sat with Ignis to be attended.
Gladio doesn’t ask her to, though. Barely ever does.
It’s her who’s realizing/noticing his injuries and bringing him apart to heal him.
Even if it’s just a bruise.
“You’re an important person. You must always stay as healthy as possible to protect Noctis in any moment.”
“Right. But you also personally care, right?”
Fem Ignis is definitely NOT answering that.
Psst. She does care.
Ignis is constantly applying ice to him.
Constantly bandaging him.
Constantly patching him.
Constantly attending everything about this goddamn man that can’t stop getting hurt, dammit.
Just like Prompto, it may look like she’s upset out of the way she speaks, but her body actions tell otherwise.
Like, sure, she’s nagging Gladio and being uptight on him…
…but her fingers are so, so carefully holding his arm. It’s impossible. Like she’s scared of hurting or breaking him.
Her treatment is so soft, dammit.
She may show herself a little more uptight/less motherly with Gladio than she does with Noct or Prom.
…that is, until the drunken citizen tried to harm Noct.
You know, that canon story where Gladio prefered to receive the hit than counterattack a citizen, and it ended up on him earning this pretty long scar on the left eye.
You should have seen Ignis.
GODS. She almost cries.
Ignis. Almost crying. Ig-ni-su.
Do you now understand how MUCH she cares!?!?!
Of course, Gladio was attended by the royal doctor or something…
…but, post-first-healing, Ignis totally nursed him for days until the patch and stitches could come off.
Indeed, first thing Gladio saw after the first night spent at the Citadel doctor’s/medical room, was Ignis, barely awake and fighting off sleep, sat at a side.
“Ignis…it’s…like 3 in the morning…what are you doing he-”
“I’m not leaving, if that’s what you’re asking.”
Ignis is behaving a bit tsundere, now that I come to realize, hm?
Ignis was super worried. It’s so horrible. Gladio didn’t fall unconscious, there was no major blood loss, he’s not losing the eye…she knows, she knows.
Then…why is she feeling like Gladio almost died? :’(
Ignis’ treatment with him is especially soft this time.
Asking him with frequency how he’s doing, if it hurts, if he’s comfortable…
She’s even asking if there’s anything else “she can do for him.”
Remember she was just treating well and good and soft, but not spoiling?
Oops. Gladio just broke through that barrier.
Nothing happens to her boys without her growing paranoid to some point, really.
Mother hen Iggy!
So protective.
*le gasp* IT’S THE FFXV MAIN JOURNEY.
Fem!Ignis, of course, just packed her three usual kits, hahaha.
What would these guys do without her, really?
Fem!Ignis, just like canon Ignis, is in the realization that really she’s the only adult sent in this goddamn journey.
“why did king Regis do this to me, why”
Ignis is going to damn slaughter anyone that tries to lie a finger on them.
Well, there you have Iggy, the mass murderer of wild beasts and MT troopers.
When Loqi attacks…
Ohboy.
Ohboi.
Ignis is SO setting the guy on fire as soon as she lies hands on him, how DARE he TOUCH HER BOYS.
At the end of each day, Ignis will go personally with each of the boys and ask him if he’s okay.
It’s a daily ritual. Not a day goes without her reaching to see if they’re hurt, even if only a tiny bruise.
If any of them is hurt, she’s going to offer help.
Not like it’s a choice to them, Ignis isn’t asking.
Turns out that it’s like back in Insomnia, but a little more frequent on Noct and Gladio.
Prom’s stopped with the excess of junk food (not like he has a choice) and the open field is doing good to his constant colds.
But, in exchange, being the less experienced in the group leads him to have a lot of bruises each day. Not necessarily always from enemies, sometimes it’s harsh falls. Unlike Gladio or Noct or Iggy, Prom’s not trained for this scenarios.
Iggy is constantly healing Prom’s bruises.
The long walks make it harsh for Noct and his knee.
So, Iggy’s attending him with like four times more frequency than back in Insomnia.
Noct is a bit ashamed of letting the others see or know of his pain; he trusts them as friends, but, despite what we’d think, he’s very fully conscious of his prince/king role…and he’s a bit scared of discouraging them.
They all saw Regis’ weak state at only 50. Noct doesn’t want to remind them he’s next.
But it just…hurts.
That’s where mama Iggy butts in.
She understands very well, and she’s bringing Noct apart, asking the others for some space. They never question.
Iggy’s being as careful as back in Insomnia with Noct’s knee.
Out there in the haven instead of private in a room, he’s struggling more with fighting back the tears and groaning, but Iggy’s still encouraging him through it.
she understands he doesn’t want to make noise, so that’s only more reasons for her to constantly encourage him.
Iggy doesn’t explicitly show it, but she really does care for the chocobros more than anything else in her life.
She’s always going to do her every-night rounds of checking on them and their status.
…even after Leviathan’s battle.
:’(
Even when she can’t do much to help afterwards.
Even…
Even…(ノД`)・゜・。
I CAN’T CONTINUE, goddamit.
Hahaha, welp. Hope that’s enough, though.
I tried putting in Fem!Ignis and the chocobabies, too, but it’d have turned terribly long. Sorry!
