Part 2 of: Experiments
People seemed interested in the first part, so I decided to make another! I'm glad you all are enjoying this! Thanks for the support! qwq ----------
Mario was right.
Essentially, the professor was trying to make a device that could make it so Luigi and Gooigi could both be awake and working at the same time. To do that, E. Gadd transferred half of Luigi's conscience to Gooigi, so they would both be sort of equals.
However, that meant Luigi essentially lost half of himself. It all happened so fast. The moment the transfer happened, Luigi himself began to suddenly feel weak and dizzy. He felt as if he could barely breathe. In just a few mere seconds, Luigi's legs gave out from under him, and he went unconscious. Mario watched in horror as he watched his brother go from being fine and well to looking as if he went to the underwhere and back. Instinctively, Mario tried to rush over to his brother's side to help him, but the professor told him to wait. He was going to try and transfer Luigi's other half back to himself.
Gooigi, now with half of Luigi inside of him, would be staring at Mario. He couldn't hear what was being said, but Mario looked clearly angry at E. Gadd. He saw Mario's distressed expression, his mouth moving super fast and open as if he was yelling, panicking. Gooigi and Luigi's body were in a separate room from Mario and the professor, with strong, protected glass being the thing that separates the pairs.
Gooigi did not know what it, or he, was doing. It kept its eyes on Mario. He felt the need, the urge, to go to him. It needed him. It slowly reached its hand out towards Mario, which the red plumber took notice of. Mario stopped yelling and looked at Gooigi. He had a feeling that even though it wasn't all of his brother that was there, it was still him.
Mario would put his hand on the glass, as if he was trying to reach back.
"I'd advise against that," said the professor. "The electricity from the machine might shock you."
Mario, silently, would take his hand off the glass, and E. Gadd would start up the machine again. The room became very bright, causing Mario to have to close his eyes momentarily. Once the machine stopped, Mario would open his eyes, and he would see his brother still on the ground, with a puddle of goo on the floor where Gooigi once stood.
...
Luigi would start to wake up in an unfamiliar area of the lab. Exhausted, he looked around to check his surroundings. It looked like some sort of recovery room. The bed he was laying in felt really soft, the kind of bed you would never want to get off of. However, even if Luigi wanted to move, he felt too weak to do so. He was himself again, but he still felt the effects of the machine.
After blinking a few times and his eyesight becoming slightly better now that he was properly awake, he would notice something red at the corner of his eye. It was Mario, sat in an uncomfortable looking chair, asleep. He also looked exhausted, but more so because he didn't get much sleep. A few days had passed since the test took place. However, Luigi was unaware of what time it was, or what day it was. All he really remembers was looking at his brother while in the testing room, everything going black for a few moments, and then waking up in this strange room.
A total of three days had passed. For Mario, it felt like an eternity. He had no idea if Luigi would ever wake up, and he was scared of the possibility that he would never get to see his brother again. The entire time however, Mario always stayed by Luigi's side, hoping that his little brother would eventually wake up. Even if it took days, weeks, months, or even...
Mario pushed the thought away. He didn't want to think about the possibility that his brother could be unconscious for that long. He just wanted his brother to be awake again. He wanted to see him smile again.
On the first day of Luigi still not waking up, Mario never once left Luigi's side. E. Gadd tried to tell Mario to at least get up a little, walk around, eat something, drink something. But all Mario focused on was making sure his little brother wasn't alone. What if he went away for one second, and Luigi woke up? He would be in an unfamiliar room, by himself, nobody there to comfort him.
Before E. Gadd left the lab for the night, he went to check Luigi's room, and lo and behold, Mario was still there. He still hadn't left. The professor told the older brother that if he needed anything, it wouldn't be that far from the room. Mario solemnly nodded, and the professor would stand there for a few seconds reflecting before he left the room, leaving Mario alone with his brother who was still asleep.
By the third day, the professor finally managed to convince Mario to leave the room to have a break. Mario wasn't really himself. He seemed more quiet now, more serious. He ate only a little, since he wanted to get back to his brother's side as fast as he could. It gave him a little more energy, which made him feel a bit better, but he still missed Luigi.

Or!
Here's a thought. Luigi goes into Boo form but loses any defining "physical" characteristics. (Or maybe we, as the game players, are the only ones who can see Luigi's distinct physical characteristics as a Boo). At some point, Kind Boo (having escaped E. Gadd's lab yet again) recalls all the Boos back to whatever he's using as a lair these days (nights) and starts making plans for his next incursion.
Luigi ends up with all the Boos, having to go undercover, as it were, to protect himself because if any of them figured out his was Luigi and not just some random, footsolider Boo, he'd be in for a bad time, to say the least.
So he does whatever menial tasks he's assigned. Maybe has to go out and haunt someone or even hurt someone to maintain his cover. He begins to form his own plan as to how he can escape, how he can use this form to take King Boo down from the inside for good.
But then - of course - something happens. Maybe Luigi's caught trying to sabotage one King Boo's artifacts, and at first, he's treated like any other Boo traitor until something slips and maybe it's Luigi's recognition or reaction to an image of his brother and King Boo, being no fool, puts two and two together.
And oh, King Boo grins, long tongue dripping ectoplasm. I will enjoy every last subtle flavor of this drawn-out vengeance.
You see, King Boo has a certain interest in artifacts that allow for a degree of possession of the body and mind, that amplify an ability already present in the higher forms of Boo. And King Boo himself doesn't want to possess that dirty once-human ghost, doesn't want any inch of his translucent shimmer to be dulled by the banal thoughts and tedious emotions he knows are still brimming in the transformed plumber.
But what he can do is control Luigi's actions. He can make him do what he wants, puppeteer him to violence and mayhem. And while he can't coerce the physical Luigi's body into action (his physical form hidden somewhere between dimensions as part of the Boo-transformation), he can force Boo!Luigi to possess other bodies and carry out whatever impulse strikes King Boo's bloody whimsy.
And all this while Luigi's consciousness sits trapped, a prisoner observer, unable to do anything but watch as he commits growing numbers of atrocities, of course building to acts against the E. Gadd, the Mushroom Kingdom, and....his brother.
Now, meanwhile.
Luigi's physical form is in some liminal, dimensional pocket. And a certain someone who is a master of dimensions and not quite fully dead due to Chaos Heart shenanigans happens upon said body.
Well, this could be amusing, could it not?
Eventually Dimentio wants Luigi's soul back in his body because whatever shards of the Chaos Heart still live are embedded in both his body and metaphysical presence. And Dimentio, being somewhat obsessed with Luigi, wants to take his final bow with him, to dance their last dance in the blackened, charred stars at the end of the universe. In this version of events, Dimentio has just enough of his magic left to allow his fragments of the Chaos Heart to "speak" to the fragments in Luigi's body. While he can't fully inhabit Luigi's body, he can exist partially inside of him, half of Dimentio in Luigi's cells and the other half watching from the outside. If he can track down Luigi's soul and subconscious, they can finally fulfill their destinies together.
And...on the way, why not have some fun? He so longs for entertainment, and instigating a bit of chaos using Luigi's face? Well, who would he be to pass up such a tantalizing opportunity, to travel the world like a wolf in the sheep's clothing?
The Boo transformation is tricky, unstable magic. A quirk of Luigi's change into a Boo and King Boo's subsequent control over Luigi's ghostly form is that Luigi (the conscious Luigi trapped in his Boo body) - is unable to sleep. Which raises some interesting ideas about the nature of subconscious and if dreams can exist beyond our internal awareness.
Well, we know, from a certain series of events in the Pi'illo Kingdom - they kind of can. Cue Antasma, who is skulking around the dream realm after his defeat. And isn't strange, this cloud of what looks to be a dream portal, but one that is misshapen, that seems to be untethered in a way no other dream has that he has encountered before. He's curious. Perhaps it will lead to a solution to his current dilemma, a way out of his dreamy imprisonment.
Imagine Antasma's surprise when he steps into Luigi's dream world. This insignificant insect of a man managed to thwart his plans through the power of his dreamscape. And now here it is, empty of its main character, but Antasma can feel the vibrations of potential in this world, the way Luigi's unfettered subconscious can cross that threshold between imagination and reality, can act as a conduit, a transport into the dreams of others, which, in turn, can lead him back to the land of the living.
He just needs to find Luigi's conscious mind and meld the two back together.
So, my friends. Imagine our triumverate of doom. King Boo in posession of Luigi's ghostly form, Luigi's conscious mind prisoner and audience to a deliberate set of atrocities. Dimentio pupeteering Luigi's body, causing chaos in his name, all while exploiting their connection with the Chaos Heart. And finally, Antasma taking the wheel of Luigi's cut-off subconscious, occupying and shaping his dreams and nightmares.
What will our villainous trio do when confronted with each other? What will they learn about our hero through the exploration of mind, body, and soul? Who will emerge victorious? And how many heart attacks will Mario have once he cottons on to what is going on?
And, of course, how will Luigi, in all of his forms - deal with this?
Oh man, I just had this thought about the Mario Wonder game. We saw that the gang has the ability (or curse?) to turn into ghosts (or Boos, really). And now I can't get the idea out of my head of Luigi having to Poltergust his own brother in ghost form for...angsty reasons.

Ghosts
I initially had the idea to do this fic a while ago, even before I started writing my first Super Mario fic. I finally got around to it for Halloween after being reminded of the idea via coming across a fanart piece that depicted a similar idea. I'd link it because it's sort of fic inspiration but it's buried deep in the Bowuigi tag on Tumblr and in the reblogs on my main blog.
~
Of course the hotel was haunted, why wouldn’t it be? Just when he thought he was finally free of having to deal with ghosts, this had to happen. Finding the Poltergust in the garage – indicating E. Gadd was here somewhere too, probably trapped in a portrait – was a sheer stroke of luck because Luigi had neglected to bring his own ghost hunting equipment. This one was the new model E. Gadd had been telling him about too which was neat expect for the fact that he now had to use it to deal with a hotel full of ghosts.
Before getting to that though, he glanced around the garage one last time to make sure he was alone before pulling out his phone. He needed to call Bowser, tell him not to come day after tomorrow after all. They’d been planning to have him show up at the hotel a couple days later and then finally reveal their relationship to Mario and Peach because away from home while on vacation when everyone was already in a good mood seemed like a good place to do that. But ghosts had happened instead so it’d have to wait.
Though it wasn’t super late into the night yet, hopefully Bowser would already be sleeping so Luigi could just leave a message. There was a very real chance Bowser would want to come anyway to punch the ghosts over their plans being ruined and only get himself in trouble. Luigi would rather not have to try to dissuade him from that so… He picked up on the third ring.
“Hey, what’s up?” he said. “Aren’t you normally in bed by now?”
“Uh… yeah but um… well turns out the hotel’s haunted, it was a trap from King Boo. He uh… yeah, stuff happened and I have to deal with it.” He needed to save Mario and Peach, the Toads too. “So, you probably shouldn’t come after all. We’ll have to tell them… later.” Both of them had kept finding reasons to put it off, figures after finally committing to a plan something would go wrong with it.
“He got Mario again, didn’t he?”
“Yep and Peach and the Toads and probably E. Gadd too, since his car is here but he’s not.”
Bowser grunted. “How does King Boo keep beating Mario when I never could?”
“Please not now.” Mario was in danger; Luigi didn’t want to hear about Bowser’s rivalry with him when that was a thing.
“Oh uh… all right, sorry. You okay?” All the gruff bravado was gone from Bowser’s voice now. Instead he sounded concerned which meant Luigi’s plea had been filled with more desperation than he’d intended.
“No, not really.” How could he be in this situation? What if he couldn’t beat King Boo this time? Or what if… King Boo took it further and killed Mario before Luigi could get there to even try to save him?
“Right, you’re afraid of ghosts, huh?”
“I know I probably shouldn’t be anymore.” He’d dealt with two full hauntings and captured King Boo twice as well so logically he shouldn’t be afraid anymore but alas, his fear had never been rooted in anything logical. “But… they’re still scary.” He leaned against E. Gadd’s car, holding back a grown. This ‘adventure’ had only just started and he was already tired.
“All righty then,” Bowser said as if reaching some kind of decision. “I’ll go over and beat the ghosts up for you. Except me in however long it takes my fastest air ship to get there.”
“What? No, no, no, you don’t need to come down here. I can handle it on my own.” It was too late though; the line was dead.
Luigi groaned as he flipped his phone closed to slip back into his pockets. Now he had to save his brother and friends and watch out for when Bowser arrived to hopefully make sure King Boo didn’t get him too. Could the night get any worse?
***
The hotel was rather drab looking in the dark of night, there wasn’t a light on anywhere inside it. It had looked much better in the brochures so it was a disappointment all around. Vacation wasn’t what Bowser was here for though so whatever. Maybe a dark hotel would serve as a good arena to beat up some ghosts and King Boo though.
Mario was going to be so shocked when he saw it was Bowser who’d save him this time. That would count as finally besting him too, right? Defeating the person who’d defeated him was basically a victory over both of them, right? So, this was going to be a fun outing after all.
With a signal from him, the ship flew in closer to hover over the roof. “Circle at a distance until I call you back,” he instructed the shy guy at the wheel before vaulting over the edge. In hindsight, even with how much it would’ve slowed down the ship, he probably should’ve brought in a troop of minions for backup but he’d been in such a hurry and hadn’t wanted to wait for an entire troop to get ready to broad it and now it was too late. Whatever though, he could handle King Boo and his tiny boos by himself.
He landed on the hotel’s roof with a thud, the tiles cracking beneath his weight. Glancing around he was disappointed to see that the roof was empty. What his exact plan was, he had no idea but he didn’t a plan, he’d just wing it like he normally did and it should be fine.
The roof was pretty barren and thus it didn’t take him long to locate a possible way down so he could enter in properly through a window or something. Before he could start to descend though…
“Why are you here?”
He snapped around to see King Boo had come out of seemingly nowhere. He was holding a portrait of Princess Peach, which knowing King Boo’s powerset, meant it probably was her. Bowser had given up courting her a long time ago and had only continued to kidnap her to lure Mario in for another rematch. He no longer even did that because Luigi had decided to convince him not to which had ultimately resulted in their current relationship. But it still made him mad because if anyone was going to capture her, it should’ve been him. He at least treated her right, the way a princess should be treated, not trapping her in a portrait. So…
“I’m here to kick your ass,” he said with a slight growl as he balled up his hands into fists. He would’ve preferred to start with a blast of fire but he wasn’t sure how flammable Peach’s portrait was and he wasn’t going to risk damaging it and possibly her.
King Boo raised an eyebrow and laughed. “You’ll make a nice portrait so sure, I won’t question my good fortune, let’s fight.”
Bowser lunged at him even before finished speaking, intending to grab and rip Peach’s portrait out of his hands. But King Boo floated higher, dodging with seemingly little effort. And he was out of Bowser’s range completely, such bullshit.
With a flash of light from King Boo’s crown, there was suddenly an empty portrait floating beside him. “Sorry this isn’t much of a fight, I got stuff to do,” he said as it starting glowing, pulling Bowser in.
Like hell was he gonna be turned into wall art. He’d blast the damn thing to bits with fire and then…
 -
Next thing he knew, he was indoors and looking down at Luigi instead of up at King Boo. It felt kind of like waking up after a too long nap. He breathed out the breath he’d been taking, releasing a puff of smoke instead of the mighty blast of fire he’d intended it to be. He glanced around at the room, it seemed to be an office of some sort. “What happened? Where am I?” he said as he looked back down.
Luigi looked tired but otherwise mostly fine. He had the Poltergust on his back but a different model than the one he’d shown Bowser. This one had a clear tank with something green inside it. “You were captured by King Boo and turned into a portrait,” he said. “Why did you have come? I tried to tell you not to.”
“Because I wanted to.” Bowser always did whatever he wanted.
“Yeah but why?”
“You’re scared of ghosts, I wanted to beat them up for you.” And he still would, he just had to try a little harder. There were few problems that couldn’t be solved with a good punch and/or blast of fire.
“Oh uh… thanks for the thought.” The slight blush on Luigi’s face as he lifted his free hand to rub the back of his neck was cute and made look slightly less tired. “But I um… I’m fine. I can handle it by myself.”
Bowser sighed as he crossed his arms. He wasn’t too good at reading other people’s emotions but… “You don’t seem fine.”
Luigi deflated a little, letting out a heavy sigh. “It’s scary and I’m tired and… scared and stuff. Gotta save my bro though so…” he trialed off with a shrug. “You should probably go the garage but uh… I’m not sure how I’m going to explain your presence to E. Gadd and the Toads, that’s going to be awkward but I’m not sure where else would be safe.”
“Fuck that, it’s personal now, I’m going to beat up King Boo.” No way would Bowser ever stand for such a humiliating defeat. So he turned to march out the room.
Before he could take more a few steps though Luigi grabbed his arm pulling him back. Bowser could easily just drag him along or pick up and carry him with him or even just shake him off entirely but didn’t.
“You can’t,” Luigi said. “He’ll just turn you into a portrait again so… please don’t. I already have to save Mario and Peach, I don’t want to have to save you again too.” He sounded desperate and scared and… it made Bowser feel bad. “So just… let me do it.”
“You’re scared of ghosts though.” So he shouldn’t even want to do this.
“Yeah but… you need special equipment for hunting ghosts and… I’ve never lost to them so… I can handle it.” He was full on hugging Bower’s arm now, making it even harder to pull away.
Bowser could only sigh at that. “All right, fine, I’ll just help you then.” He could do that much at least. “I’m not letting that bastard get away with beating me so easily and I’m not letting you face the ghosts on your own when you’re so scared of them. And there’s nothing you can do to convince me to hide in some stupid safe place instead.”
Luigi looked like he wanted to protest but sighed instead as he rested the side of his face against Bowser’s upper arm. “Okay, that works, I guess. It’s… kind of nice to have some company anyway I suppose, it gets kind of lonely sometimes.”
Bowser grunted instead of trying to come up with a reply because he wasn’t sure how to. “Let’s go,” he said instead, gesturing towards the rooms exit. He wanted to see how Luigi fought ghosts, he’d been curios about what that was like ever since Luigi had told him about it. “I can’t wait to see the look on Mario’s face when I help save him.”
Luigi chuckled nervously. “That’s uh… certainly going to be an interesting meeting.”

JoweeGee's Mansion
Literally Luigi's mansion but DtL themed. I wrote this back in 2018, so yeah. There might be some writing/format/word choices that are kinda wonky. Also I apparently never posted this here? So here it is.
Wilfre is king boo, Raposa are portrait ghosts, shadow enemies are boos, and the other ghosts are regular enemies.
At first I thought... Mike should be the protagonist! But then I thought hold on!!!! What ifff.... JOWEE was the protagonist?! I mean, Joweegees mansion sounds like a good title to me! But what is the PLOT???
okay here's the plot idea. (Warning! It gets dark, so... yeah) is It's after the ending of the last game. Mike is awake and alive as ever. And what do ya know? The Raposa world still exists in Mike's head! ...but because he's not in a coma.... Every single  Raposa is dead. But... Nobody seems to know that they're dead. Everyone is just a ghost, unaware that they've passed away. Mike, during his dreams/daydreams, occasionally visits the rapo world and observes from a distance.
Wilfre, realises that the world still exists, and everything seems to be normal. He has actually been dead since the shadow corrupted him. So he's pretty much the same as he used to be. Wilfre, using his shadow magic, creates a new home for himself in the form of a giant mansion. Alone in the giant mansion, Wilfre begins to crave attention of others. Using his last jar of color, wilfre paints a picture of Heather to keep him company, as the raposa version of heather is trapped inside. The sight of Wilfre causes real life heather to have constant nightmares and mental breakdowns.
But having heather around just makes wilfre depressed. So he ends up watching the villagers, and realizes that they're all nothing but ghosts. He thought about approaching the entire village and apologizing, as he felt kinda bad about everything he's done, but he knew everyone would just gang up on him. So instead, he goes to one Raposa at a time (each in private), to not only apologize, but to tell them their fate. Not wanting information of his presence to spread among the Raposa, he offers each Raposa he talks to 'live' at his new mansion. He manages to convince everyone he talks to to join him. So nobody would appear missing, Wilfre would replace every Raposa that moves away with a ghost (the enemy) that is disguised as the rapo in question.
In the mansion, everyone is getting along relatively nicely. Even with Wilfre. Despite this, Wilfre is still upset at himself for ruining everyone's lives. In the mansion's basement, Wilfre has his own hideaway that nobody else knows about. The heather painting is stored here as well, so nobody knows about it.
Eventually, Wilfre has almost everyone from the village in his mansion. Everyone but the two Raposa that he thought would be near impossible to convince. Those two being Mari and Jowee. He knew that convincing those two would be much harder than the others, so he didn't go to them like the others. Instead... He decided to have them come to HIM.
Jowee receives a mysterious letter telling him he's won a mansion in a contest he's never entered. The letter also says that he can share the mansion with one other person. Along with the letter, there is a map to the mansion, and a single key. Jowee tells mari about this, very excited. (Free real estate!) But mari is a little sceptical. Mari agrees to share the mansion as long as they check it out first. Mari, worried that it's a trap, decides to go ahead of Jowee and check out the mansion and wait for Jowee there.
When at the mansion, Mari waits at the mansions entrance. Impatient, she walks up to the door and inspect further. To her surprise, the door opens without a key. She walks inside, and begins to explore. Soon after entering the building, the villagers notice Mari and greet her. Mari is obviously scared and confused AF because she thought everyone was in the village. The villagers explain what happened, how they got there, and that everyone was ducking dead. At first mari thinks this must be a trap set by Wilfre, but then her dad shows up. (He's been in a similar situation as Wilfre since he WAS DED. After watching over everyone, he became convinced that everyone uniting was a good idea) After calming mari down, he told her everything the villagers said was true, and that she should be as supportive as she can be. (Oh and he proves that she's a ghost by showing she can go through stuff. SPOOKY) Wilfre then shows up and greets Mari. Mari obviously can't just get over everything Wilfre has done so quickly, so she maaaad. After a Looong discussion, Mari finally calms down (tho still a bit on edge) and accepts to stay in the mansion for a while. Everyone is then told Jowee should show soon, and the villagers get excited that everyone will soon be together again.
Wilfre knew that he still hasn't convinced Mari of anything, and felt defeated. He knew that no matter what, he will always be thought of as THE VILLAIN. (Despite him once being the center of attention, and attempting to save the world.) The thought clawed at Wilfre's mind and tortured him. And since he managed to get mari on his side once, he KNEW Jowee would give him NO chance. To Jowee, once an enemy, always an enemy. The only way he'd even consider it is if the creator told him to. And what were the chances of that?
Wilfre simply became convinced that there was no hope for anything. No hope in the Raposa, no hope in himself, nothing. He believed his existence did nothing but cause pain and suffering. As much as he wanted attention, he also desperately wanted to get rid of himself. But he couldn't. He was already dead, like everyone else. And he knew that he couldn't be gotten rid of as long as their world exists. Then, Wilfre thought to himself: "what if I get rid of the world? Then every pain would be gone, I would be gone, all will be well and better off" (please don't think that kinda stuff guys. Wilfre's just lost it. I love y'all.) But how would he destroy the world? There's only one way he could think of. And that is to kill Mike. But... how? He could always find Mike and try killing him himself, but would that even work? After all, that would only be dream Mike (not real mike). But how can he kill real mike? His only real connection to the real world is through Heather. Then he thought about getting Heather to kill Mike. Of course she refuses to do this, but as time passes, Wilfre makes her feel more and more unstable. He promises her that the pain will end completely if she goes through with it.
In the meantime, Wilfre decides it is best if Jowee never actually joins everyone in the mansion. After all, if he showed up, he'd likely turn everyone against him somehow. So he sends some of his ghostly minions to stop him in his tracks.
Meanwhile, Jowee makes his way to the mansion. On his way there, ghost enemies followed him, in hopes of scaring him away. Jowee still manages to make it to the front door. He doesn't see mari, so he assumed she went in already. However, to his surprise, the door was locked. (Wilfre locked it just so he couldn't get in) Jowee, being the smart hot dog he is, unlocked the door with the key he had. (Stupid Wilfre! You assumed Mari would have the key since she showed up first cucjtcjtmg) Upon entering the mansion, Jowee immediately encountered a bunch of ghosts. Wilfre was about to take Jowee away and replace him with a ghost (enemy) doppelganger. (So nobody would know) But all of a sudden, Mike bursts through the doors, equipped with a poltergust, and tries to suck up the ghosts. But Mike is clearly not very good at doing this (also, once his courage wore off, he was too scared to do anything right). Lucky for Jowee, this is enough to save his butt, and he and mike gtf out of there.
Wilfre, confused by wtf just happened, orders his minions to patrol the place, and for a doppelganger to replace Jowee. The Raposa then meet the doppelganger, thinking it's the real Jowee.
Mike and Jowee run off to a secret hideout Mike had made. Mike explains that he had recently gotten into a series known as Luigi's Mansion™. So, while he was there, he decided to recreate E Gadd's lab along with the poltergust 3000. While there, he happened to notice the mansion appearing out of nowhere, and saw both mari and Jowee walk inside. He just recently finished the poltergust, and he thought Jowee would need help. Jowee, wanting to save mari from Wilfre's mansion, asks to use the poltergust to save mari. Mike accepts, since he can't use it, and besides, Jowee's the hero here, not mike!
And so Jowee goes back in the mansion, and does some ghost busting.
At some point Jowee comes across some of the Raposa. (Isaac's family) He is extremely confused since he thinks they are all in the village. After some confusion and misunderstandings, Jowee ends up battling with them, and sucking them up in the poltergust. Jowee, confused AF, returns to mike to tell him what happened. Mike comes to the conclusion that they were ghosts, but Jowee is in denial. Mike decides to have Isaac's family go through his recreation of the ghost portrificationizer. This way, they won't harm anyone or get in the way. He also gives Jowee his recreation of the gameboy horror. This can detect darkness, and allow the two to communicate from a distance. Before Jowee returns to the mansion, mike asks a favor of him. Mike had recently noticed that his sister had been acting really strange lately, and he thinks she might be in there somewhere. He asks Jowee to find her and help her out if he can. Jowee accepts the request, after all he IS her caretaker. Jowee then returns to the mansion.
The Raposa soon notice that Isaac and his family disappeared out of nowhere. Wilfre knows what happened, but he doesn't want them to know that there's two Jowee's. So he pretends to not know what happened. (And he sends out more minions.)
So now Jowee's ghost hunting and stuff. Everything is pretty similar to Luigi's mansion now. But there's still some more things plot wise.
At some point, Jowee meets Mari. Jowee tries to convince her to leave, but mari is confused b/c why would Jowee say this??? And unlike the other Raposa, she is the only one to see both Jowee's at the same time. She tells Wilfre about this, but he brushes it off and doesn't tell anyone until it's kinda obvious. This makes Mari a lot more suspicious of Wilfre, so she decides to hide a bunch of letters in the mansion telling the real Jowee what is happening, and where to go next.
Another thing I should mention is that mari isn't the only one helping Jowee. Samuel, being a seer, acknowledges Jowee as the real one, and helps guide him as well. He even makes mention of heather several times. He also is the one to convince Jowee that he's dead.
Every once in a while, Jowee checks in with mike (mostly to empty the poltergust). And each time he visits, mike gets more and more afraid. He keeps saying something is wrong with heather, and that Jowee should find her really soon.
At the end, Jowee confronts Wilfre and tries to suck him up. But he just can't. He just suck up shadow instead. But there's so much shadow, it clogs the vacuum. Wilfre reveals his plan to destroy the world through heather, filled with mixed emotions. Jowee enters Heather's painting to try and change her mind about killing mike. How he's her brother, how killing him won't make everything go away, how she shouldn't let a scarring experience get to her and instead let her grow as a person. Jowee is successful, Mike lives, all the Raposa are set free from their paintings, and Wilfre... Well, Wilfre has issues. As pissed as everyone is at him, they know they can't get rid of him. So instead, they try their best to calm down Wilfre and afterlive along side him. (Keyword: try)
Well that was a bunch of nonsense, huh? Anyway, happy NOT HALLOWEEN IT'S NOT EVEN OCTOBER! I JUST GOT RANDOM LUIGI'S MANSION HYPE SO I WROTE THIS WAT?

Fool Me Once, Fool Me Thrice Chapter 7.4 Deleted Scenes
Oh hey it’s a thing! Some of y’all showed interest in seeing the deleted stuff I mentioned, so I’m posting ‘em as promised. If you haven’t read part 4, I highly recommend you do that first.
These were all cut pretty early, so they didn’t get any revision. In other words: they be rough af. Enjoy!
===
“Plunger Scene”
I hadn’t originally planned for King Boo to land a successful hit on Luigi. In fact, it had been the other way around. As I said in the notes of part 4, I was going to have Luigi throw King Boo with the Plunger Shot, but ultimately got rid of it because it just didn’t feel right (and I didn’t think Hellen would sit quietly by and watch her idol get smacked around).
For kicks, I also included the alternative way King Boo reveals the fate of Luigi’s family and friends.
=
“Did... did you just stick a plunger to my face?”
Luigi shrinks in on himself, shoulders rising until they are level with his ears.
“It was an accident?” he offers uncertainly.
King Boo’s eyes narrow into a glare. Despite the plunger on their face, the king still somehow manages to look menacing.
“This won’t be,” he hisses.
King Boo lunges at the plumber, foregoing the portrait entirely. Luigi reflexively activates the Poltergust’s intake, but instead of catching the monarch in its gale, it latches on to something else—the knotted end of the plunger’s rope. Luigi reels back with a start, and is surprised when the plunger holds firm. The sharp tug startles King Boo enough that the spirit aborts their attack, instinctively resisting the opposing force. Suddenly, Luigi and King Boo find themselves in an incredibly bizarre game of tug-o-war. The plumber begins to feel his shoes lose their purchase, and as he slowly skids across the floor, Luigi realizes he could (and probably should) shut off the intake and let the rope go.
He doesn’t.
What happens next, Luigi can’t even begin to explain what possessed him to do it. He briefly allows himself to stumble forward, tricking the monarch into thinking he had lost their little impromptu game. King Boo eases on their pull, and the second Luigi feels the lost tension in the rope, he acts. Luigi firmly plants his feet in a wide stance and jerks the rope upward with all his might. The ghostly monarch soars into the air with a startled squawk. Luigi swiftly spins on his heel, yanking a flailing King Boo above him in a wide arch—the latter skimming the bottom of the chandelier as they reach the zenith of their trajectory. With an involuntary battle cry, Luigi slams King Boo onto the ground as hard as he can. A loud crack splits the air—the sound accompanied by shattering dishware and ornaments falling from the nearby buffet tables. Luigi, still adjusting to the new Poltergust, accidentally releases the plunger, sending King Boo crashing into the hotel entrance and knocking himself onto his backside.
The plumber blinks slowly from his sprawled position. He looks from the dazed king to the caved-in floor spider-webbed with cracks. Luigi spies the dislodged plunger lying in the mess that spilled from the shaken tables. He isn't sure what amazes him most, that such an innocuous thing could assist in causing so much damage, or that he was able to throw King Boo like that all on his own. He’ll have to tell his brother about it later—Mario would have loved to see that.
Luigi grins. He has to admit, it was very cathartic.
The elation from his successful maneuver is short lived. King Boo quickly shakes off their daze and rises from the floor with a furious snarl, spurring Luigi into scrambling to his feet. The monarch’s eyes burn with unkempt rage, but there’s surprise there too, and something else... Fear? It’s gone so fast that Luigi thinks he may have imagined it.
“How?” King Boo snarls. “How do you have a Poltergust with you?!”
King Boo’s fervid ire has the plumber trembling again, but it’s not quite as bad as before. Luigi squeezes the Poltergust’s wand, intake nozzle at the ready.
“The professor never leaves home without it,” Luigi replies, “And I’m not leaving here without him.”
The spectral monarch’s anger evaporates into shock. They open their mouth as if to speak—perhaps to ask how Luigi knew E. Gadd was here in the first place—but the question dies on their tongue as a look of epiphany abruptly crosses their face. King Boo’s features relax, melting into something cavalier. What little satisfaction Luigi got from catching the king off-guard gives way to unease.
“Oh?” King Boo asks casually. “Just the professor?” He grins. “Does that mean I can keep the others?”
Luigi suddenly recalls the other vehicles he had seen in the parking garage with utmost clarity. Dread weighs heavily in his gut.
“Others?” he dares to ask.
King Boo gestures at a point behind Luigi. The plumber turns to look. Some distant part of him would later realize how stupid it had been to take his eyes off the monarch, and just how lucky he was that King Boo hadn’t taken advantage of his carelessness. Currently, Luigi feels the furthest thing from lucky. Horror fills him to the brim. This time, Luigi does drop the Poltergust’s nozzle.
There, floating in a neat arc above Hellen Gravely, are portraits containing Luigi’s friends and family.
===
“Olive Branch Scene”
There was a brief moment where I considered having Luigi attempt to make peace with King Boo, but I decided it was too soon for the string bean to extend an olive branch (we all know King Boo wouldn’t have accepted it, anyway). Plus, I already have another installment drafted that covers when King Boo and Luigi first agree on a “truce”. Having the concept of peace introduced this early would kind of take away from it (you’ll see what I mean when we get to that chapter).
=
Luigi tightens his grip on the Poltergust’s wand, anger bleeding through his fear. Lightning crackles to life about the plumber’s hands, unbidden. King Boo grins.
“Oh dear, have I upset you, Luigi? I don’t believe I’ve ever seen you angry before. It’s adorable! Like a tiny chihuahua yapping at lion.” The spirit chuckles. “But I think we all know what happens to the chihuahua, don’t we?”
Luigi bites back an angry retort. He quietly sighs—eyes closed—and takes a deep, composing breath as he reigns in his anger. The building electricity fizzles out. Luigi pointedly ignores King Boo’s disappointed huff while he collects himself.
“We don’t have to do this,” he says at last.
King Boo’s malicious grin falters. Confusion replaces triumph.
“What?” the monarch asks, looking genuinely perplexed.
For a moment, Luigi shares the monarch's confusion, surprised at his own words. Initiating peaceful negotiations had become almost second nature to Luigi since he began mending the relationships between mortals and spirits. Despite his unpleasant history with King Boo, the plumber turned mediator had found himself habitually going through the motions of his newfound career. Luigi nearly retracts his engager, but a ludicrous thought has him hesitating.
What if he tried…talking to King Boo? Tried reasoning with them?
Luigi frowns internally at the idea. There’s no way it will work…right? It would be a waste of time and breath…wouldn’t it?
He decides it couldn’t hurt to try.
“We don’t have to do this,” Luigi repeats. He slowly—hesitantly—returns the Poltergust’s wand to its holster and raises his hands in a placating gesture. “We don’t have to fight.”
Hellen and King Boo exchange bewildered looks. The spectral monarch stares back at Luigi, gob smacked.
“Are...are you surrendering?”
Luigi quickly shakes his head, alarmed by the suggestion.
“What? No! I’m just—” the plumber cuts himself off. He takes a deep, composing breath. “I’m asking you to let us go.”
King Boo stares at the plumber uncomprehendingly. Luigi is about to repeat himself when the monarch abruptly bursts into laughter. A distant tittering informs Luigi that Hellen shares the king’s mirth.
“Luigi, you continue to surprise me. I never realized you had such a bizarre sense of humor,” he cackles, wiping away an imaginary tear.
“I’m being serious.”
The spirit’s mouth clamps shut. Luigi quickly presses on, lest he be dismissed before he can even make his case.
“Return my friends to me, let us leave in peace, and I won’t try to capture you or any of the other spirits in this hotel.” Luigi gestures vaguely around him. “No one has to get hurt. No one has to lose their freedom. We can put all of this behind us and move on with our lives—err, afterlives.” He laughs nervously.
No one laughs with him.
===
“Baby’s First Banter Scene”
I thought of a dumb joke reminiscent of King Boo and Luigi’s usual banter, but because the Plunger Scene got removed, it, too, was scrapped.
=
“It sounds like you’re in good hands, Luigi. I would stick around and join in on the fun, but thanks to your cheap, apish assault, I need to go make an appointment with a chiropractor.”
Despite the severity of the situation, Luigi can’t help but wrinkle his brow at King Boo’s absurdity.
“You don’t have a spine,” he says flatly.
“Neither do you, but I’m not so rude as to call attention to it, now am I?”
Luigi sighs internally. He had walked right into that one, hadn’t he?
“Well then! Now that everything’s settled, I really must be going—these portraits aren’t going to hang themselves.” With a wave, the portrait prisons containing Luigi’s friends and family drift after the monarch as he slowly begins to ascend. King Boo spares the plumber one last sinister grin before he disappears through the ceiling. “See you soon, Luigi.”
And with that, they are gone.

Luigi's Mansion 3 - Tickling Drabbles (Part 4)
Luigi/Steward: Squirming Luggage  The soft humming of the elevator could be heard through the air, which was then followed by a loud 'DING' and doors opening.  "...And that will be the plan, precisely. You got that Luigi?"  Before the green plumber in question could even open his mouth to express any kind of response, E. Gadd stepped already off the lift and made his way down the dimly lit hallway.  'E. Gadd being E. Gadd...', is the only thing that came to Luigi mind while following behind said scientist...well, was, considering it was quickly replaced by a squeak, since a picture that was hung up on a wall decided today was a perfect day to let gravity pull it towards the ground, breaking it in the process.  After processing the moment, E. Gadd gave of a mocking chuckle, being amused by the poor boy's reaction.  "The same scaredy cat as always, eh? You really didn't change after all these years."  A smile of embarrasement crept onto Luigi's face, while rubbing his neck with one hand and begrudgingly agreeing with the professors's statement in his head.  Finally, both ghost hunters reached the door that would lead to their destination and opened it.  "Anyway, let us not disgress from the matter at...hand..."  The scientist suddenly became quieter with each word, the green plumber beside him looking like the colours have been drained out of him, shaking. There was only one valid explanation as to why such responses could be set off in the first place: Ghost.  But it wasn't any kind of ghost, per se.  It was the bellhop that Luigi has already talked to while checking in, back when the Last Resort still proudly wore its beautiful and glamorous illusion.  Currently, the spectre was carrying out his job, moving around luggage that was messingly lying around everywhere, albeit struggling with it due to his rather thin built body and skinny arms.  It didn't took him long, however, to notice the motionless duo by standing by the door, after placing a small bag with some other ones.  The bellhop, not expecting unwelcome ghosts behind him, emitted a startled yelp, finally giving the ghost hunters the hint that standing still truly didn't make them invisible as they have hoped.  Panic errupted in the room, with E. Gadd. first hiding behind Luigi but then deciding it was better to flee the scene and Steward frantically scanning around to find anything to defend himself against with, his eyes eventually catching the luggage lying behind him.  The green plumber snapped out of his frozen state and barely dodged a small briefcase that was being hurled at him by the blue ghost.  Trembling, he watched as the bellhop was already on his way to heave up another suitcase, this time way more larger than the other one.  What ensued was a battle, a rather clumsily one at that, with the scrawny ghost trying his best to aim and throw luggage way to heavy for him and Luigi repeatedly doing mistakes due to adrenaline clouding his mind, making him unable to think clearly and plan out his movements.  One moment led to another and the ghost hunter got hit by a projectile, knocking the wind out of him in the process and taking his balance away from him, resulting Luigi to stumble down with a loud 'THUD'.  "Luigi, come on, stand up, he's behind you!", is what the poor boy's blurred hearing abilities register from the professor, who was currently clutching at the ghostly gate that appeared a while ago, trapping him behind it.  With all the power he could muster up, the plumber shakingly rose up on his feet, proceeding to grab the nozzle of his Poltergust-G00- ...only to clutch at air.  Wait, where did all the pressure on his back go?  Scratch that, better question.  Where did his Poltergust go?!  "Looking for something?"  The bellhop. He must've took it while Luigi was lying unconscious on the ground.  "Well, with that being out of the way, I think we gentlemen can adress this little indifference of ours more 'formally'."  His defensless state. The unstoppable terror that grew inside of him. The sudden burst of confidence that the bellhop has.  Luigi really didn't like were this was going.  What the unarmed hunter didn't even like more was that he was unexpectedly pushed onto some luggage.  Before the cowering hero's mind could even register what was going on, his ankles were abpruptly met with the feeling of a rope being tied around them and against a bigger suitcase, restricting any movement and therefore also limiting the chances of escape.  "I don't think you need those anymore, sir."  In a flash, cold air hit Luigi's feet as his footwear was removed and tossed aside by Steward, causing the boy's head to be flooded with concern and confusion. "You know, it's quite rude to come into a room without knocking and invading a working place. For that, you should be... punished.*  The concern grew now into full on anxiety, as the ghost hunter frantically tug at his restraints, only to be replaced by an instantanious sharp inhale of air, as a finger was being dragged down his right sole.  Oh no, anything but this.  The loud and resounding crashing noises that once could be heard inside the room were now replaced with the sound of high pitched giggling and squealing, as blue fingers were being spidered against the squirming feet of the timid hero.  "Ahahehehehe-hahaha n-n-nohohoho, whahahahahahahihihihit-hahahahahaha!"  Clutching at the luggage he was sitting on, Luigi tried his best to surpress the urges of letting the bottled up laughter being released, but failed miserably once the spectre's wriggling hands found his way under his toes, resulting in hysterical shrieking and wheezing from the plumber's side.  "Gitchy Gitchy Goo~"  *W-W-WHAHAHAHAHA, S-STOHOHOAHAHAHAP NOHOHO-HAHAHAHA!!"  Having the soles and toes as well as under them being scratched at by taunting fingers were one thing.  Being teased by a rather mischievous ghost along the way was a whole other one.  "P-PLEHEHEH-HAHAHA-PLEHEHEHAHASEHEHE N-N-NAHAHAHAT THEHEHEHEREHEHE-HAHAHAHAHA!!!"  "There, you say? As you wish, sir.~"  Promptly, a wide array of tickling techniques was used against Luigi's vulnerable feet, from scratching his fingers as well as pressing his thumbs against the balls of his soles, to circling his fingers in a fast manner against the inside of his feet and his heels, to even holding back his toes with one hand or play 'Little Piggy' with them.  All the tickling and laughter made the poor boy's throat coarse, leading him to not being able to get any coherrent sentences out of him anymore, jittering hands clutching against his twitching sides in hopes to somehow lessen the jolts of energy travelling through his trembling body. "My, my. You're quite the squirming luggage, aren't you~" "NOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" The ghost hunter who once held his weapon with determination was now reduced to a writhing and chortling mess of a puddle, who was currently holding onto his hat to hide his blushy and flustered face behind it as best as the he could with his quivering hands, tears running down his cheeks all the way. Meanwhile, E. Gadd. who had witnessed the whole event, was pressing his fingers against his temple, mostly out of disbelief and maybe because of a little bit of disappointment, too.  "You have to be kidding-..."  His thought process was suddenly disturbed by a booming bark beside him.  Polterpup.  Instantly, an idea sprung into the professor's brain.  He knew that anything living can't pass through ghostly barricades, which was the reason why E. Gadd. couldn't come to help the defenseless boy in the first place.  Ghosts on the other hand... "Polterpup, go fetch your owner!" Like on cue, the cheerful puppy happily ran towards the cause of the scene, knocking a surprised bellhop down along the way.  "Wha-?!"  Steward needed a moment to regain his posture, but was quickly met with the fact that the unannounced guest has already chewed through the rope that had restrained the plumber from moving once prior.  Not only that, but the dog also showed his owner, where that dreaded machine was hidden - behind some luggage.  "U-uh, w-we can talk about t-this, r-ri-"  *Slam*  The entire basement was now filled with the sound of constant slamming against the ground. ... "Now with that 'interruption' being out of the way, I think we can finally return focussing on our task again."  The scientist gave Luigi a reassuring pat against his shoulder, the plumber in question giving off a faint blush while rewarding his puppy with petting and hoping that he wouldn't get made being fun of now of that 'incident', too.

Ashley: (Shrugged) I guess even heroes can have their moments of poor sportsmanship.
Bowser Jr: (Smirking at Mario's Misery) ('Heh') This is pretty hilarious to me.
Popo: (Rolled his Eyes) Of course you would find something like this funny....

Nana: Right........
Luigi
Luigi: (On the Screen) I'm a loser.....
Bowser Jr: (Smirks) That you are, Green Loser.

Ness: ........Yeah. I could totally see Daisy acting like this in real life.
Rest of the kids: (Agrees to this as well)

Donkey Kong
DK: (Throws a Random Barrel and Starts Slamming on the ground in Anger)
Toon: (Eyes Widened) Well.......It looks like someone certainly hates losing.....

Ness: Maybe.....
Diddy Kong
Diddy: (Jumping Around in anger and going Ballistic on screen)
Toon: (Eyes Widened) Wow.....And here I thought DK had a bad temper......
Popo: (Turns to Diddy) What happened there, Diddy?
Nana: Yeah? How were you able to react to losing worse than Donkey Kong?
Diddy: (Starts Blushing) I-I was just going through a faze at the time. (Crosses his arms) And besides, I've matured since then.
Bowser Jr: I doubt that....
Wario
Wario: (Throws a Giant Boulder before rage quitting on screen)
Ashley: (Rolled her eyes) Leave it to Wario to act like a real sore loser in a sports game.
Lucas: Where did he even gets that giant boulder from anyways?
Ashley: Your guess is as good as mines, Lucas.
Suddenly that same boulder was thrown back at Wario's head, instantly making him into a tiny squished version of himself.
Ness: Oooh.... That's gotta leave a huge mark. I'm surprised he even survived from that alone.....
Ashley: (Turns Away while Scoffing) Well that's what he gets for throwing a random boulder like a childish maniac instead of accepting one simple loss like a normal human being....
Lucas: (Turns to Ashley in worry) Ashley, are you okay?
Ashley: (Gently Holds Lucas' hand while giving him a Small Smile) I'm okay, Lucas. I was just rambling is all.
Lucas: Okay..... F-Feel free to come to me if you need someone to talk to, okay?

Diddy: I guarantee you that this is exactly how he acted when he didn't get into Smash Bros.....
Other Kids: (Agrees to this As Well)
Birdo
Birdo: (Stomping Around in Distress on Screen)
Toon: (Whispers to Ness) So....is Birdo's really a girl or....
Ness: I have no idea, man......
Bowser
Bowser: (Got on his knees and starts Beating the ground in defeat on screen)
Ness: See? Even your dad is taking losing too seriously, Junior.
Bowser Jr: Yeah....Dad is the type of Koopa who doesn't like losing all that well.....
Lucas: Even to Mario?
Bowser Jr: Especially to Mario.
Bowser Jr.
Bowser Jr: (Starts Crying like a toddler on screen)
Toon: (Snickering) Wow, Junior. Didn't expect you to cry like that over a little golf game.
Diddy: (Starts Smirking) Wonder where you got THAT from?
Bowser Jr: (Starts Blushing Furiously) Oh shut up! I don't always act like that.
Ludwig: (Walking by) On the contrary, little brother, you always act this way. Even in public.....
Bowser Jr: (Blushes even Harder in anger) No one asked you, Luddy!! (Went back to pouting so more)
Ness: (I think he rest his case on this one.......)
Boo
Boo: (Rolling on the ground in Despair on screen)
Lucas: Does anyone find it weird that this Boo didn't get himself killed under the sunlight?
Bowser Jr: Lucas, they're Boos. They can withstand anything..... Somehow....
Shadow Mario
Shadow Mario: (Trips Down and Just Sat There while Feeling Annoyed on Screen)
Ness: Okay. So this is something I don't get. Junior, If you were in this game as well and you still got that Paint Brush to this day, who was orchestrating as Shadow Mario this entire time?
Bowser Jr: (Shrugged) I'm just as lose as you are, man. The moment the tournament was over, all I saw was E. Gadd's Paint Brush laying on the floor that day.
Toon: Speaking of which....Why did the Professor gave you that Paint Brush in the first place? Wasn't he suppose to be on Mario's side?
Bowser Jr: Honestly.....I have no idea. I don't even think Dad knew at the time he got it for me.
Ness: Hey.....you don't think he's actually been some evil scientist this entire time.....do you?.....
Bowser Jr: ..................Nah. It's probably just a coincidence or something.
Ness: (Felt Unsure about that answer) ......
Petey Piranha
Petey: (Starts Puking out Gop like mud before falling down on screen)
Kids: Ewwwwww!!
Bowser Jr: Oh relax, you babies! It's only mud.........I think.....
Ashley: (Unimpressed) Regardless, it's disgusting. Moving on.
Reaction Over
Ness: Okay so....I think I can speak for everyone when I say that (Turns at Diddy Kong and Bowser Jr) You guys.... take losing wayyy too seriously.
Diddy: Yeah....I won't deny that at least....
Bowser Jr: (Shrugged) We were acting like kids back there....I mean...Me and Diddy ARE kids, so there's some excuse for us....But i don't know what was with those adults during that time. And on a simple Golf game nonetheless....
Ashley: I think it's might be for the best to not think too much of their nonsense for the time being.
Everyone Else: Agreed.

For Your Entertainment ~ Chapter Eleven
Tumblr media
Summary: Luigi gets help and Peasley receives a visitor.
Warnings: Gore, Character Death, Murder
”D-Daisy…”
Luigi’s chest dropped as he watched the last signs of life escape his friend in the form of unceremonious bubbles, Daisy’s corpse floating within her final watery resting place. He sobbed out her name in vain, his stomach twisting painfully as his knees gave away, stumbling back.
”Luigi, my boy.” E. Gadd approached him, his glasses clouded and face pale. He gripped Luigi’s shoulders, trying to help steady the trembling man. “Are you okay? Stand up, young feller!”
Luigi didn’t respond. He was numb, gaze locked upon the screens. “Daisy… D-Daisy…!” The weight of her passing hit Luigi all at once, his sobs turning to screams. “N-No...! NO! DAISY!”
”What is-?” E. Gadd turned around. “What’s going on?!”
”Bravo!”
From within the recording, Dimentio suddenly spoke up.
The three standing in the lab jolted, moving to focus on the screens surrounding them.
Not yet finished, Dimentio stood up and waved his hands in the air dramatically.
”That was quite the performance, was it not?” His maliciously chilling voice continued without an air of sympathy as he circled the golden box. “Wouldn’t have expected any less from my most devoted and fesity of assistants. Putting up a fight until the very end! What a spectacle, indeed.”
He circled Daisy’s floating corpse in the execution tank with a smile on his face, lifting a gloved finger to his chin in thought. “I do suppose I was partially to blame for the exhaustion that ultimately sealed her fate, though…” Dimentio mused with a sigh.
He laughed.  “But who am I to resist a game of cat and mouse when presented with it? Only a fool would pass up such an opportunity. Even if the other contender in the game gets worn out, it’s all the same to me! A bit of fun before the show. Certainly a fine way to loosen up a bit before playing the role of host…”
”Oh Grambi, no…” Peasley held a hand over his face, grimacing as he lowered his head, trying not to imagine Dimentio’s cruel titters of delight from when he snatched the Sarasan Princess away. “I can’t even imagine…”
”-But!” Dimentio continued. “Speaking of exhaustion… I do believe my audience is deserving of a bit of a break. Wouldn’t you agree, my flower dame?”
Silence was all that answered.
”Ah, right… Dead.” Dimentio mumbled. He shook his head, clapping his hands together. “Well, in any case, I won’t see to it that I bore my audience with the same old tricks! Why, I need time to prepare for the show’s finale, after all!”
Dimentio turned his attention to the camera, keeping a hand up against the execution box he’d created.
”So consider this your intermission, everyone. Stretch, maybe get some snacks, rest up... Our regularly scheduled program will start again soon!"
Dimentio further pressed his gloved palm down on the golden box in the middle of the room, grinning madly as his yellow eye twinkled upon examining Daisy's body.
"My assistant will be more than happy to send you off... with a bang!"
He disappeared with a snap of his fingers, laughing.
Without warning, the golden box containing Daisy’s body exploded, the swirling contents inside meshing together in a horrific combination of dark ash and sparks, blood splattering against the yellow sheet of glass.
Bloodied water flooded the camera’s view.
The tape cut to black.

Dimentio kept true to his word.
After the three shakily exited the lab, composing one another despite their festering terror, they soon realized there was nothing to fear. Nothing else in the manor was amiss, and none of the ghosts reported any sightings of the jester.
As the hours passed that evening and the night turned to a clear sunny day, it was made very clear Dimentio’s intentions of giving his grief-stricken audience a break were truthful. He didn't attack, torment, send letters or parcels... It was almost as if he'd gone dormant, the cruel beast locked away for the time being.
Paranoia tore at their fragile subconscious, however, constantly reminding them they weren't safe and that he could strike at any time, to whisk them away to a horrific fate.
But, for now, everything was tranquil. Nothing was wrong. Everything was okay.
E. Gadd took it upon himself to ensure Luigi and his spouse felt happy and comfortable in Evershade Valley upon seeing how upset they were after the video incident. And despite the hesitation at first, the pair did stay.
E. Gadd put lots of work into sprucing up Gloomy Manor for his guests, dusting up cobwebs and fixing furniture with the help of various ghosts. Luigi and Peasley also helped despite E. Gadd’s protests, claiming this was his job, and that the two boys should just relax. But, they insisted they help, using it as an opportunity to distract themselves. Peasley decorated the main foyer and entrance with tens upon tens of yellow roses he’d collected, having been waiting for an opportunity to display them somewhere. He filled the large vases by the doors, telling Luigi that it’d be a nice thing to come home to.
Luigi was already quite familiar with the property from his ghost-hunting days, which made it easy for cleaning up. As they tidied up their new and hopefully permanent abode, Luigi seemed to recognize every nook and cranny, telling Peasley tales of his past adventures.
The stories helped to comfort Luigi, and having the ghosts assist in their efforts to clean certainly helped in making him feel better. The gesture turned something that was once terrifying seem familiar and comforting, much like how he’d been when first adopting Polterpup. The spectral pup himself seemed much happier living in Gloomy Manor, playing by their feet while his owners worked. He even tried to help in his own way, ripping up shreds of paper and curtains that were caked with dust or broken.
As the days passed, Luigi adapted to the new setting as well.
Keeping his thoughts away from Dimentio, Luigi managed to calm himself down. He often mediated and read to himself in the library with Polterpup on his lap, left to calm himself down when his thoughts began to wander. Peasley would always accompany Luigi wherever he went to ensure his safety, helping whenever it was necessary.
Mario had even sent a letter to the manor, calming Luigi's growing anxieties tenfold. Luigi came to Peasley in jubilant tears one morning to show him the letter, written in Mario's own handwriting with bolded red ink.
’I'll be back soon, Weegie. I miss you a lot, and I'm sorry I haven't been there for you. As soon as I get there, we'll figure this out together. I'm on my way.’
Luigi knew Mario most likely didn't even know what had befallen upon them all. Not the full story, at least. Luigi didn't want to tell him everything. Not all at once.
Not about the Princess...
Luigi shook his head and pocketed the letter, continuing to try and distract himself with menial activities. Peasley did his very best to try and keep Luigi feeling secure and happy as the days passed by.
Luigi's panicked jitters and horrific nightmares began to subside as the days turned to a single month, leaving everyone in the manor and valley feeling much more at ease. The change was almost unprecedented, but no one objected or complained. E. Gadd was pleased to see Luigi's condition bettering, always offering him time to himself.
But, the professor did still request a weekly meeting with Luigi and Peasley to catch up on things in between vigorous lab work. He never saw the boys during the week and wanted the opportunity to see them once in awhile. Their meetings were fun and light-hearted, E. Gadd usually telling bad jokes over tea and snacks.
Today’s meeting was quieter than usual though. E. Gadd had lost most of his eccentricities, now silent and twiddling his thumbs across from Peasley and Luigi.
"Now... boys,” E. Gadd began, sitting up as he held his hands together. “I know you two have been rather stressed, as of late. But, I wanted to ask you two something. It's just an idea, so hear me out."
Peasley and Luigi glanced up from their separate cups of tea, exchanging a glance.
"What is it, professor?"
E. Gadd took a breath, and then began. "Earlier today I was in Toad Town, just looking for parts for my next big invention.” He grinned. “Which, might I add, will be quite the revolutionary project, something generations will be studying for years to c-...”
He paused, clearing his throat as he turned to Luigi and Peasley, both with puzzled expressions.
“Ahem, sorry, got a bit off-track there. Anyhoo, I ran into an odd fellow on the streets. He was wearing the most peculiar outfit, a purple cloak draped over his head and a crystal ball in his arms. He stopped me, noticing I was looking rather pale, and asked if I needed any help. Now, my complexion is my business, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't the least bit shaken from... the incident, that happened a few weeks ago."
"But still,” he continued hastily. “I explained that, and I apologize for letting this slip without your consent, young fellers, but I informed him of your, uh, condition, right now. Rather fragile, the pair of you are. He explained he was a doctor. Lives in Toad Town, not far from here at all.
“You both need to cope somehow, and I just thought it would be better if you two see a medical professional rather than just bottling it up yourselves. These talks are doing some good, I would hope, but there's not much I can do except offer some words of encouragement. I know not the slightest thing about how the mind works, only what makes gears turn and cogs spin.
“It’s only an idea, but he gave me his information if you two might be interested." He handed over a card he'd been keeping in his lab coat pocket, handing it over to Luigi. Luigi looked the small card over, tilting his head curiously.
It was labelled with the name ‘Dr. Toadley’ and gave the address to Toadley Clinic. The name sounded familiar to Luigi, but he didn’t exactly recall why.
”He said he mainly focuses on having one client at a time, just for an hour session. And he also told me your first session would be completely free. Just tell him I sent you. He seems like a nice-enough fellow, albeit a bit odd, but who isn’t a little odd nowadays?”
"Luigi, this sounds like a marvelous opportunity for you!” Peasley spoke up, setting his tea cup down.
”What? B-But, what about you? I don’t want to leave you alone!”
”I’ll be fine!” Peasley smiled. “Besides, someone’s gotta look after Polterpup while you’re out.”
Polterpup, who was licking up the crumbs that’d fallen to the ground, yipped and perked his head up upon hearing his name.
”I… I don’t know. I’ve been pretty okay, lately…? I don’t n-need-“
”Luigi, my boy, you need help. I’m no professional, but you’ve been out of it for several days these past few weeks. Seeing you cry breaks my old heart, son.”
”But… what if… h-he? While I’m walking to Toad Town, if-?”
”I’ll have some ghosts accompany you, my boy. No one will mess with you when they’re around. Hoho! They’ll be too scared outta their skin.”
”I… I…”
Peasley reached forward, grabbing Dr. Toadley’s card and slipping it back into Luigi’s hands. He held them comfortingly, smiling. “This will be a good break for you, darling. Try and tell him everything. I’m sure he’ll be able to help you.”
”But, I don’t want… I don’t want to remember...”
”I know it hurts. It hurts me every day to think about it too. But, you can’t keep it to yourself any longer. It’s going to hurt you so much more if you do.”
Luigi looked into Peasley’s concerned gaze for a moment before turning to glance at E. Gadd, who also nodded.
”O… Okay.”
                                                - - - - - - - - - -
“I-I’ll only be gone for an hour.” Luigi spoke shakily. “I’ll be in Toad Town…”
“I know, Luigi. Just an hour. You’ll be back before dark, right?”
“Yeah. A-And E. Gadd is just next door, if you need him, for whatever reason.”
“I know, sweetheart.”
“Y-Your sword! Do you have your sword on you? Just in case.”
“Yes, darling. I always have it on me.”
“Lock the door behind me, p-please.”
“I will, darling.” Peasley smiled. “Goodness, shouldn’t I be the one worried about YOU? It’s been quite awhile since we were last in Toad Town. You be careful out there, Luigi. Come back home safe. Stay close to the ghosts.”
Peasley gestured forward. A group of various ghosts stood just outside the door, a rather large Slammer right by Luigi’s side.
“Y-Yeah. I will. I just… I want you to be safe, Peasley...”
“Just try and calm down, my love. Clear your mind. Remember what Snoozemore taught you about deep breathing?”
“I… All Snoozemore reminds me of is… i-is...”
“I know, darling. You can tell Toadley about it. He’s the professional, I’m sure he’ll be able to help. Be sure to not spare any details. He won’t be able to help if you don’t tell him everything.”
Luigi nodded shakily, holding back tears. “Yeah…”
Peasley leaned forward and hugged Luigi tightly, trying to soothe his shivering. “It’ll be okay. Just try and calm down. I love you so much, Luigi. Be safe out there.”
Luigi nodded into Peasley’s shoulder, sniffling. Peasley leaned back and kissed Luigi on the nose, smiling.
“I love you.”
Luigi went to respond when he jolted at the abrupt sound of barking from behind Peasley, Luigi glancing up just in time to see Polterpup jumping up on his legs.
“O-Oh, hello, doggy…!” Luigi muttered as he bent down to pet Polterpup on the head. “I can’t play right now, I gotta go, boy... I’ll be back soon, though…!”
“Polterpup, stay in the house, please.” Peasley playfully chided as he pushed the spectral dog back. He picked him up, smiling. “Well, I suppose we can both see you off then?”
Luigi nodded slowly, turning and taking a deep breath. His ghostly companions led him down the porch steps toward the road. Glancing back, Luigi smiled as he made eye contact with Peasley again, who was still standing out on the porch.
“Bye, darling!” Peasley waved, blowing a kiss in Luigi’s direction. “See you later tonight!”
Peasley watched Luigi go until he was out of sight. He set Polterpup down on the ground of the manor’s entrance, letting the dog run off as he shut the front doors behind him.
Peasley exhaled before walking down the corridor from the entrance, going toward the main hall. He shivered slightly from a sudden cold draft of air through the windows, the suits of armor looming ominously along the walls certainly not helping with Peasley’s unease as he went.
Once in the main hall, he made his way toward the downstairs corridor, holding his sides as he went into the library. A fire was weakly crackling in the fireplace, coating the room in a warmth that easily relaxed Peasley’s anxious shivers. The gentle glow soothed him as he walked into the kitchen, entering from the side door off of the library.
He removed a package of coffee beans shipped to him from the Beanbean Kingdom from one of the cabinets, setting it down on the counter. He silently made himself a cup of coffee, only the sounds of the whirring machine and trickling liquid being there to accompany him.
He froze as he felt an abrupt wet sensation on his legs, turning around feverishly in panicked shock, only to be met with Polterpup sitting behind him. The ghastly dog tilted his head, panting as he sat and rubbed up against Peasley’s legs, licking them again.
”O-Oh, it’s just you. Hah, you scared me, little guy...”
Peasley smiled as he went to pet the dog before the beeping of the machine caught his attention, turning to pick up his cup.
He set off towards the library again, Polterpup trotting close behind him. He seated himself in one of the velvet lined chairs, almost hidden beneath stacks of books. He picked up one of them to read, skimming over the cover as he sat.
Peasley took a short sip of his freshly brewed coffee, exhaling. Polterpup barked from below him.
“What is it, boy?”
Polterpup whined, his puppy-dog eyes widening.
“What do you want?” Peasley laughed, pointing to his drink. “Do you want some coffee? Hah, just because Luigi isn’t here doesn’t mean you can have caffeine. I don’t think he’d appreciate that.”
Polterpup yipped, playfully licking Peasley’s hand as he bent down to pet him. He then jumped up on the chair, squirming under Peasley’s arms before snuggling up against the prince’s chest.
Peasley ran a hand over Polterpup’s back, smiling. He leaned on his arm as he settled into his seat, setting down his cup on the table at his side. He picked up his book, opening it up and beginning to read.
The hour passed by slowly. Every minute, Peasley wanted nothing more than for Luigi to come back. The ticking of the ornate grandfather clock in the corner of the room only heightened his anxiety. He tapped his foot anxiously.
Polterpup stirred at the trembling movement, glancing up at Peasley curiously.
“Did I wake you? Sorry, Polterpup. I’m just a bit worried. It’s almost been a little over an hour, and he’s not back…” Peasley bit his lip, setting his book down. “Do you think he’s alright?”
Polterpup whined in response, nuzzling his head into Peasley’s chest.
“M-Maybe we should go find him. It’s getting late, and I know how much he hates when it gets dark outside…” Peasley mused, lifting a hand to his cheek. “How about we go pick him up, together? How’s that sound, boy?” Peasley tried to relieve his thoughts by sounding optimistic, but it didn’t help much.
Polterpup yipped, jumping off of Peasley’s lap and nearly knocking over a stack of books as he ran toward the doors, clawing at the wood. Peasley pushed open the door, but Polterpup still phased through the walls and doors, the pup rather impatient.
“Hey, slow down! Not all of us can just go straight through walls, you know!” Peasley playfully scolded as he ran after Polterpup.
Entering the main hall, Peasley watched as Polterpup briefly waited for Peasley to ensure he was still following before immediately bolting through the doors leading to the entrance, barking loudly as he went.
“Polterpup!” Peasley called as he opened the doors to the corridor. The same cold draft of air hit him as he entered, squinting down the hall as he started toward the entrance.
Oddly enough, he couldn’t hear Polterpup anymore.
He stiffened upon hearing shuffling on the other side of the doors, pausing in his tracks.
“Luigi?” He questioned as he pushed open the doors, glancing around the entrance hall carefully as he walked in. “Luigi, is that you-?”
He froze.
“Ahahahaha! Look who finally decided to show up!”
Peasley could practically feel his heart stop at the sound of the now-familiar laughter. He stepped back instinctively, horrified at the smiling figure standing before him.
Dimentio stood dressed in his usual garb, a violet and yellow cape draped over his shoulders. The bells on his jester hat jingled as he moved his head, smiling eerily. His mask was almost completely fixed, but small pieces of it were still broken. The jester was holding a snarling Polterpup in his arms, the dog furiously trying to escape his hold, but Dimentio’s expression didn’t change.
“Ah, it’s always a pleasure to meet my hapless victims before the show. Especially you! Why, I feel as though we should’ve had this meeting ages ago.”
His smile only grew as he relished in Peasley’s absolute terror.
“Ahahaha! You almost look surprised, princey!”
Peasley refused to respond, merely keeping his distance.
“Don’t act so shocked, you had to have known this was coming. Even the most dense of imbeciles would have been able to guess I wouldn’t let Luigi’s darling husband just get out of this alive, right? Or perhaps that’s your foolishness at work again?” Dimentio laughed cruelly. “Mr. ‘Oh, he’ll leave us alone if we just wait it out!’, Mr. ‘Maybe he’ll just give up!’, how I am ever-so-pleased to meet your acquaintance at last!”
Polterpup growled in Dimentio’s hold, baring his teeth before chomping down on Dimentio’s hand. Dimentio released a shrill shriek, glaring at Polterpup.
Dimentio’s porcelain smile twisted into a frown. “Miserable creature...”
He snapped his fingers, Polterpup releasing a final growl and sharp yelp before he disappeared from sight, seemingly into thin air.
“Polterpup!” Peasley held back a horrified scream. “W-What did you just do-?!”
“Oh, the mutt’s fine! I just sent him off to my own little pocket dimension for a bit. I just got the place tidied up, after all.”
Peasley stepped back, trying to keep himself from shivering. He reached behind him, grabbing the door handle.
”Well, now that that distraction is out of the way…”
Dimentio held out a hand for Peasley to shake, to which Peasley responded by stepping back further.
”Oh, what? You’re not going to shake my hand? Too good for that, I suppose.” Dimentio scoffed, lowering his outstretched hand. “Fine. Be impolite then.”
Peasley ignored Dimentio as he reached to his side, moving to grab the hilt of his sword.
”No introductions will be necessary for me, I suppose. Surely you know who I am, and you must know exactly why I’m here. Why, you’re my next act, after all!”
”I-I’m not afraid of you, Dimentio.” Peasley spoke confidently.
”Ahaha… Now that’s a laugh! You can say that all you like, but it won’t change a thing. You’re uncontrollably shaking, like a leaf desperately clinging onto a tree during the coldest and foulest of winter days…”
Dimentio floated forward, hovering off the ground slightly. He moved fluidly, his mismatched eyes watching Peasley’s every movement as he leered at him.
“I suppose you must be curious about what your role during my show may entail. I would just hate to spoil the surprise, but let’s just say it will be quite the show-stopper! Quite a fun welcome back from our short intermission.”
Dimentio suddenly appeared beside Peasley, teleporting to his left side and pushing him back into the middle of the entrance hall. Peasley broke his composure, having lost the grip on his sword.
“No, you won’t be the finale of my show, I’m sorry to say. And you won’t even be the first prince I’ve had onstage either! Aw, what a shame, indeed. I know how much that must hurt your egotistical heart, not being important at all to the program…” Dimentio mockingly pouted, running a finger down his mask to imitate a tear.
Dimentio hoisted Peasley to his feet, staring into his eyes.
“But, you’ll still be a marvelous addition… I’ve planned a very special trick for you.”
Peasley pulled himself out of Dimentio’s grip, stumbling away. He reached to the table along the wall, picking up one of the flower vases he’d put out. As soon as Dimentio lunged toward him again, Peasley slammed the vase over Dimentio’s head, the sound of glass shattering filling the otherwise silent entrance hall.
Dimentio clambered backward, reaching a hand up to his now-broken mask shakily. Black liquid spilt from the cracks onto his gloved hands, thick streams of pure jet-black fluid dripping down the white side of his mask.
Peasley staggered back momentarily before he turned on his heel and bolted away from the entrance hall, rushing out of sight as he dashed down the corridor.
“We’re playing rough, then…? Fine. I can deal with that…”
Dimentio wiped away at the black liquid trickling down his face, his cracked smile twitching.
“Let the games begin.”

“T-Thank you, again, Dr. Toadley, f-for everything.” Luigi’s meek voice trembled slightly as he spoke.
The meeting at the clinic had gone much better than he originally thought it would, feeling a sense of renewal fill his chest. It had gone a little longer than he would’ve liked, but the time spent further delving into ways to cope certainly helped.
”It's just been really hard to talk about that kinda stuff lately…”
“Are you feeling better now? Of course you are.” Toadley spoke quickly, brushing his hands off on his cloak. The blackened coat draped over his head concealed most of his features, but Luigi didn’t complain. Eye contact made him nervous. “Will I see you again? I assume so. My services have proven themselves formidable to you, correct?”
“Yes-”
“Of course I’m correct. Stop by the clinic at any time. My intern will see to it that you’re first in line for my services.”
“T-Thank you, Dr. Toadley.” Luigi smiled. “I-I really am feeling a lot better.”
“Happy to hear. Now, hurry on home.” Toadley spoke hastily. “Tell E. Gadd I said hello. And Luigi?”
“Yes?”
“Don’t forget our talk. You have an unseen potential. I foresee you doing great things.”
“T-Thank you! And will do. I-I’ll probably see you later…!”
Luigi rushed out of Toadley Clinic to the waiting group of ghosts, a smile on his face. He waved goodbye to Dr. Toadley, who saw him off at the door.
The ghosts led their mortal companion back to Evershade Valley, chattering back and forth.
The doctor grinned as he watched Luigi go. But his smile was not his own.
He’d completed his assigned task.
For, what Luigi failed to notice upon his leaving, was the small green sprout curled around Toadley’s cranium.

Peasley ran without stopping.
He couldn’t breathe, his vision hazy with tears and his heart pounding in his ears. His skull rattled as he tried to compose himself, attempting to catch his breath. He couldn’t stop for anything.
Dimentio would catch him if he stopped.
Peasley pushed open the doors leading into the main hall, stopping in the middle of the room. His eyes feverishly darted around the space, trying to find the most optimal place to hide.
He turned on his heel as he heard the sharp sound of Dimentio whistling, bells jingling from the corridor behind him.
He quickly darted into the coatroom, hiding himself behind the safety of the closed door. He kept it open though, just by a crack, to keep watch on Dimentio should he come close. He secured a hand on his sword’s hilt.
The doors to the corridor were flung open, Dimentio floating into the middle of the main hall. He turned his head upwards, still holding a hand over his cracked mask as he did.
“Oooh, Peasley!” Dimentio’s sickly sweet voice crackled for a moment, calling out into the silent house excitedly. “Come out, come out, wherever you areee~!”
Tumblr media
Peasley kept his hands clamped over his mouth, trying to keep his panicked breathing to a minimum.
Dimentio paused, glancing around, waltzing around the vicinity. Peasley watched his every movement, trying to steady his breathing as he dug his arms into his chest, as though that would stop his heart from beating so quickly.
The air was still.
Without warning or reason, Dimentio sharply turned his head to stare directly at Peasley, his single yellow eye glowing.
From behind the crack in the door, Peasley nearly lost his breath when gasping out a horrified cry, pulling his sword out of the scabbard on his belt.
But, Dimentio didn’t approach him, instead going up the stairs to the second floor.
Peasley glanced down, allowing a sigh of relief to escape him as he crept out of the room upon Dimentio’s leaving. He tested the floorboards, the old wood creaking with each step he took. He huffed, bolting across the main hall to the corridor he’d entered from. He pulled on the handles, but the door had been locked.
He panicked, rushing into the downstairs corridor on the other side of the room, shutting the door behind him and gulping down saliva as he anxiously tried to steady his breathing.
Peasley went into the nearest room, the door creaking with age as he did.
He went to cover his nose as he entered, shutting the door behind him.
Something smelt… awful. It was almost like something was on fire, but the lack of light from any such fire was clear as he was consumed by complete darkness as soon as the door shut behind him. He groped the wall for a light, unable to see anything in the pitch blackness.
He flicked what he thought to be a switch, turning on the lights overhead.
The sight that greeted him made him wish he’d hadn’t.
E. Gadd’s corpse sat in a wooden chair in the center of what had once been his laboratory, strapped down. His pale skin was charred and rotting, his head lowered, blood having spewed from his mouth. His glasses lay shattered on the ground at his feet.
Peasley screamed at the sight. The stench of burnt flesh assaulted Peasley’s senses as he staggered back, holding his hands over his mouth.
He stiffened as he heard someone moving in the hall just behind him, quickly shutting off the lights in the lab and crouching down behind an old machine.
Dimentio entered curiously, the light pouring in from the hallway being the only indication of his expression as he went into the lab.
“I know you’re in here…” Dimentio spoke in a sing-song tone. “Don’t try to hide from me...”
Peasley scooted toward the door that Dimentio had left open, trying to slip past his wandering gaze.
“You must’ve seen my little project. Hard to miss, isn’t it?” Dimentio laughed shortly. “I personally don’t think it’s my best work, but it’ll suffice. You should’ve heard the old man screaming! I’m quite shocked you didn’t actually… These walls are quite thin, you know.”
Peasley crawled towards the door on his hands and knees, trying to keep his sword from scraping on the ground.
He didn’t notice in the darkness, however, a small toolbox lying on the ground in front of his hands. He hit it as he tried passing, the clinking of metal making Dimentio spin around, chuckling.
“There you are~!”
Peasley screamed as Dimentio fired a star-like projectile toward him, blasting one of the machines in the lab to pieces. Peasley avoided the blast, coughing and darting out of the abandoned laboratory and running back into the main hall.
Only to run directly into Dimentio again.
Peasley screamed, glancing back over his shoulder feverishly.
“H-How did you-?!”
Peasley slipped past him, Dimentio watching Peasley as he dashed up the stairs, firing another projectile in his direction. Nearly tripping over several steps, Peasley quickly turned at the top, running into the upstairs corridor. He slammed the door behind him, locking it and barricading himself in.
“Yes, run as much as you like, but you won’t be able to escape!” Dimentio called, his playful voice echoing through the winding hallways of the mansion.
Peasley couldn't help the tears from streaming down his face, hopelessly sobbing as he realized he was trapped. He was trapped in his own home with a psychotic jester who wanted nothing more than to steal him away for a twisted show of his own creation.
He turned his head, running his hands through his hair anxiously as he tried to steady his breathing, nearly choking on his saliva as he gasped out in short breaths. Running further down the hall, he threw open the door to the bedroom he and Luigi were now sharing, shutting the door behind him. He breathed out choked sobs, guttural sounds of pain escaping his lips as he hugged himself.
He had never felt so powerless and alone. He could try jumping out of a window, but that would probably end in his death. He didn’t know what outcome he feared more.
Turning his attention back to the bedroom’s interior, he noticed Luigi’s pajamas strewn on the bed and the covers pulled back, the pair having not made their bed that morning. Today was supposed to be a lazy casual day.
Peasley blinked away tears, rushing over to the wooden vanity in the back of the room. He snatched up a piece of parchment that was lying atop it, having originally been meant for writing a letter back to his mother in the Beanbean Kingdom.
But, right now, all he could think about was Luigi. He had to make sure Luigi knew what had happened. He had to protect him.
He began to write, his hands shaking so much that his words were barely coherent, looking more like scribbles than anything else.
An abrupt crash sounded from the hallway. Peasley bit down on his tongue to keep from screaming.
Terrified, Peasley crouched down with the letter clutched close to his chest. His eyes darted about the bedroom, looking for anywhere to hide, soon flattening himself against the ground and crawling under the bed. He curled his body up, hiding in the darkness amongst the musty floorboards.
He breathed in short spurts, attempting to finish his letter despite not being able to see. The sliver of moonlight from the window was all he had, his words trembling and ugly, messily strewn about. Tears stained the paper, the words smudged.
He just hoped Luigi could somewhat read it. That’s all he needed.
He froze upon hearing more shuffling in the corridor, the door to the parlor in the next room over creaking open. He was getting closer.
Tears trickled down Peasley’s face onto the parchment, blurring the already almost incoherent words as he fought back the urge to start sobbing loudly at the thought that this would be his last interaction with Luigi, ever.
He would never see his homeland again. He would never see his mother. His friends. His husband.
Dimentio had already taken so many.
And he was next.
He buried his mouth in his hand, biting down on his skin to keep himself from making too much noise in fear that Dimentio might hear him. He still shivered, his heart pounding as tears continued to fall. He kept a hand held over the letter to ensure the inked words wouldn’t smudge anymore, but he couldn’t stop himself from crying.
He didn’t want to die.
He continued the message, signing his name shakily, his letters unreadable and his signature unsteady.
‘Luigi I love you so much
don’t let him take you. don’t let him find you.
please never forget how much I love you
please
peasley’
He suddenly froze, petrified in horror as he heard Dimentio’s voice.
“Still hiding, are we?”
He was in the bedroom.
Peasley glanced up, holding back tears and sniffles as Dimentio searched, looking into the closet and sifting through clothing. He stepped back.
“Not where I thought you’d be, then…” Dimentio chuckled. “Hmm, now if I were a stupid little naive prince… Where would I hide?”
Dimentio paused right beside Peasley’s hiding spot, having stopped floating as he lowered himself to the ground, just outside Peasley’s vision. The prince scooted backwards further, trembling. He was terrified that Dimentio might be able to hear his heart practically beating out of his chest.
“Well, let’s see. Not in the closet. He could be hiding under the bed… oh, but that’s the oldest trick in the book! Certainly, even the most dim-witted of fools wouldn’t be caught in such a place! That would be an embarrassment!” The smile on his face could be heard.
Dimentio stood still for a few moments, just inches away from Peasley. He held back a sob as Dimentio stepped toward him, humming a peppy tune.
“Ah, I could look, but it’s just a waste of energy!” Dimentio broke his sarcastic character for a moment, bursting into laughter. “No point in looking, I’m quite sure!”
Peasley came to the horrifying conclusion all at once.
Dimentio knew exactly where he was.
Minutes passed with only the accompaniment of Dimentio’s playful humming as he fiddled with the bells on his jester’s hat, almost as if he were waiting for something, bored.
Eventually, after several long minutes of painful silence and waiting, Dimentio finally moved, floating back toward the door. With a snap of his fingers, he teleported out of the room.
Peasley blinked, almost in disbelief, as he tried to steady his breathing. He waited for another minute before scooting out of his hiding place, careful as to not hit his head. He stood up, brushing himself off before he reached down and picked up his sword and the letter meant for Luigi.
He read over it one last time before he set it down on the bed atop Luigi’s pillow, holding back tears.
Turning on his heel, he threw open the door to the bedroom, intent on dashing back to the main entrance.
He wasn’t expecting to run directly into Dimentio’s chest upon exiting.
Peasley scrambled backward after he made contact with Dimentio, the jester forcing Peasley back as he loomed over him, his signature grin plastered on his face.
“S-Stay back! I’ll… I’ll kill you if you get one step closer to me!”
Dimentio didn’t listen, still moving toward Peasley.
Peasley inhaled, glancing down at his ever-trusted sword in his hand before he glanced back up, glaring at Dimentio.
He lunged forward, plunging the sword directly into Dimentio’s abdomen. Dimentio glanced down at the sword stabbed through his chest, his smile turning to a frown.
Instead of bleeding out and dying, however, Dimentio simply disappeared from sight, leaving nothing behind.
Peasley dropped his sword by his side with a clang in disbelief, lifting a hand to his face.
He approached the spot that Dimentio had once stood, glancing around to see if there were any remains to speak of.
But there was nothing.
Dimentio was gone.
“W-What…”
Peasley yelped as he suddenly felt two cold hands press down on his shoulders. He froze in terror as he heard an eager laugh sound from behind him.
“Look at you, trying to play the hero again. Your attempts are almost as sad as your appearance.” Dimentio’s familiar voice spoke happily. “It was a fun game though. It’s always nice to play with my little mouse before I pounce upon it…”
“H-How...?”
“Oh, did you not know that I can make duplicates of myself? They’re virtually worthless, but they make for a spectacular illusion!” Dimentio chuckled darkly. “Nice try, princey, but I found you…”
Everything went black in Peasley’s vision, Dimentio’s laughter ringing in his ears.
                                              - - - - - - - - - -
“Peasley! I’m home!”
Luigi entered the main entrance of the manor confidently, striding into the open space with a smile on his face. He shut the doors behind him.
“You were right! That was actually really good for me… I can’t believe how much-”
Luigi froze.
Porcelain and glass lined the floor at his feet, roses littered across the ground in messily strewn displays. The doors to the main corridor were shoved open, ominously swaying on their hinges. Black splotches stained the carpet beneath him.
“P-Peasley?”
Polterpup hadn’t even rushed up to greet him yet, which was almost always guaranteed whenever he returned home from something.
“Polterpup? Doggy…?”
Luigi felt lost. He was alone.
“Is… Is anyone here? H-Hello…?”
He didn’t want to think it, but he knew what had happened. He didn’t want to accept it.
His worst fears couldn’t have come true.
They couldn’t...
They couldn’t be gone.

Peacekeepers II: Rise of Smithy Chapter 2
Chapter 2: 2 geniuses are better than one
(Disclaimer! I own nothing of Nintendo, SVTFOE, Steven Universe, Xenoblade X or Street Fighter!)
I was taking a look at the scepter back at the lab. “It kind of amazes me how Wiley would use this to create weapons and soldiers,” I said, “But it feels good to finally have it.” “S.M.A.S.H has been after this thing since that big battle with Comet,” said Colleen, “Now we finally have it.” “Once we find out what its been used for aside from the weapons, I can return it to Comet,” said Star. “What surprises me is how he was even able to use it to enhance humans,” said Colleen. “Luna and I can run a diagnostic on it all before it goes back to Mewni,” I said. “Hopefully this puts an end to the Slipknot and C.H.A.O.S,” said Colleen. Luna walked in the room.
“The lab’s ready,” she said. “What’s the word on Wiley?” asked Colleen. “He’s in jail as we speak,” said Luna. “The two enhanced?” I asked. “Asia and Jet Ibanez, two twins orphaned after the assault from C.H.A.O.S 7 years ago,” said Luna, “The boy can conduct lightning and move at incredibly fast speeds, while the girl can use neon and also mind manipulation.” “So one is fast while the other is weird,” I said. “Exactly,” said Luna, “Based on the intel Dad gave us, they volunteered for the experiment made by Dr. Wiley in order to avenge the friends and family they’ve lost in Shanghai.”
“Looks like he managed to get his hands on the formula that made me into the soldier I am today,” said Colleen, “We should be prepared.” “But we’re not at war,” I said. “Not yet,” said Colleen, “But I fear we soon will be.” Luna was looking at the scepter. “Incredible,” said Luna. I looked back to her. “What’s going on?” I asked. “I just touched this scepter and some labranyum was near it,” said Luna, “It forged the labranyum into something I had in my mind.” I looked at it and was mind blown. “We’ve gotta show Asami,” I said. We went to Future Industries which moved into Brooklyn. “Ok, this is what the labranyum looked like before,” said Luna, “But with this scepter…” She used it and it formed into a humanoid. Asami was impressed. “This could….. really help my company,” said Asami. “What do you mean?” I asked. “Well we’re running out of ideas for how we can keep this company alive,” said Asami, “But with this, we can forge new technology, new ways to help others and so much more.” “But wait, we gotta return this scepter back to Mewni in a few days,” I said.
“That’s true,” said Luna, “But….” “What?” I asked. “What if we could harness the scepter’s powers and then use that technology for Asami’s idea?” asked Luna. “But wait,” I said, “I don’t know if we have the recourses or the technology to make that possible.” “Well, we can use some of my technology with the tech at Gadd Science Incorporated, and that way the two of you can work together and make it happen,” said Asami. I was about to say something but I still saw a problem. “But wait,” I said. “Stop saying but wait!” said Luna. “We still need another genius who’s good with robotics,” I said, “And I’m not sure I know anybody who fits that category.” “So where are we gonna find a genius like that?” asked Asami. Luna thought of something. “I know just the guy,” she said.
Los Angeles(P.o.v switch to Michael Morrison)
Anela was in her room snoring loudly. “Anela,” I said, “ANELA!” Her alarm went off and she pressed it. Anela then yawned and shook her head making her hair natural. She saw the boy looking at her. “Hey Michael what’s u…..” I  stopped her. “Anela, let me ask you something,” I said, “When you snore do you realize that the ENTIRE dorm can hear you?” “My old roommate said something similar,” said Anela, “I always thought she was just being an ass.” “Anela, you’ve been snoring and I barely got any sleep,” I said yawning, “You’re lucky we don’t have any classes.” “Huh, well sorry about that,” she said. I was sleeping while standing. “I said I’m sorry!” she said startling me. “Its fine,” I said.
We were walking around Campus. “Thanks again for coming with me to the lab,” said Anela, “I don’t know what I’d do without some help.” “Don’t mention it,” I said, “You’re lucky I was there to wake you up.” I was helping her with a top secret project. It was a humanoid body. “So is this for a school project, or is it something more….. for yourself?” I asked. “A little of both,” said Anela. I started to take a peek. “Nope,” she said. She showed me a screen. “Basically I’m trying to bring this thing to life kinda like how Clank came to life,” she said, “But all it needs is a good power source.” She got a phone call. “Hello?” she asked. It was her pen pal, Luna Gadd. “Annie, how are you?” she asked, “Listen, I’ve got a little something that you can’t say no to.”
“What’s that?” asked Anela. “Well, do you go to school with a Michael Morrison?” asked Luna. “Yes I do,” she said. “Well, my friend Nicholas Shay and I are working on a pretty big project, and we were thinking of some geniuses that could be a big help and thought of you two,” said Luna, “How would you two like to come to NYC?” We were on a plane heading to New York City. “So how long have you chatted with this girl?” I asked. “Since your second Xenoforce story,” said Anela. “Hey, only I break the 4th wall here,” I said. Anela noticed I had the monado. “So why did you bring that?” she asked. “Hey you never know when trouble might be lurking,” I said, “Always be prepared for anything.” “True,” she said. As we landed in NYC I noticed flyers and articles about the superhero team, The Peacekeepers. “This Nicholas Shay guy must be that famous,” I said. “Well duh, he’s Megaman X,” said Anela.
(To the 4th wall) Oh hey, didn’t see you there. I know right? Who’s house did I have to deliver a lifetime supply of chocolate to be featured in this story? Although I could’ve been introduced sooner. “We’re here,” said Anela. We arrived at Gadd Science Incorporated. “This is the place,” said Anela, “So let’s get in there and give these guys a nice big G.I.B.S greeting.” “Sure thing,” I said.
(P.o.v switch to Nicholas)
Luna was walking around. She saw her pen pal, Anela. “Anela?” she asked. “Luna, Elvin,” said Anela. Luna greeted her with a hug. “I love what you’ve done with your hair,” said Luna. “You too,” said Anela, “Thanks for asking us to come.” “Luna you are always welcome at the lab,” said Elvin. Asami greeted Michael and Anela. “Its an honor to have you part of this project,” she said. “Well I should return the favor for your help with the paintball team,” said the boy. I arrived in the room. “Who’s the guy with the dreds?” I asked. “Michael Morrison,” he said introducing himself, “Widely known student of Gifted Inventor’s Boarding School.” “Oh yeah, Luna told me about you,” I said, “Nice headband.” “Michael, this is my friend Nicholas Shay,” said Luna, “He’s….” “Megaman X,” said Michael, “I hear you’re quite the gadget guy.” “That’s right,” I said. “Speaking of my headband,” said Michael, “Look what it can do.”
Using his mind he imagined something and it came to life digitally. “Nice,” I said, “So you’re like a green lantern.” Michael chuckled and said, “No. Don’t even get me started on how they had Ryan Reynolds portray Hal Jordan.” “I know right,” I said, “DC does kinda suck with live action movies, but they redeemed themselves with….” “Suicide squad,” we said in Unison. We stared at each other for a moment. “Ok we’re gonna play a game,” I said, “After I say something, say the first thing that comes to mind, don’t even think, just say it.” “Ok,” said Michael. “This should be interesting,” said Luna. “On the count of 3, think of your favorite Disney movie,” I said, “1, 2, 3…” “Big hero 6!” we said. “Name your favorite gaming magazine,” said Michael. “Game Informer!” we said in unison. “If you had the power to cancel one shitty ass TV show what would it be?” I asked. “Teen Titans Go!” we said. “WHAT?!” I said. “Did we just become best friends?” asked Michael. “Yep!” I said. “Men,” said Anela and Luna in unison.
Later we were doing some work with Asami on the project. I worked on the outline of the body while Michael fixed up the kinks. “And that’s why I’m so protective of her,” I said, “Aside from Luna, Professor E, and Colleen, she’s the only family I have left.” “I totally know how you feel, and actually when I was younger I shared a room with her so she wouldn’t be so scared of the dark,” said Michael, “I watch out for her, I take care of her, I show her right from wrong. Basically I set an example for all older brothers around the world.” He noticed a picture of me and Sakura. “Who’s that?” he asked. “My girlfriend, Sakura Kasugano,” I said, “She’s a street fighter and works at a Japanese style arcade.” “Nice,” said Michael, “I date a rockstar from Los Angeles.” “Rad,” I said. I was putting in the last nail. “That should take care of it,” I said.
“Actually, every smithy needs something to make weapons with,” said Michael, “That’s where this baby comes in.” He brought in a hammer. “Nice look,” said Asami. A few more hours in, we decided to do a test run and create something. It worked. “Nice,” I said. I showed him the structure of the artificial intelligence in the scepter I managed to bring out. “Last thing we gotta do is install this into the body,” I said, “In just a few hours, Future Industries will be crawling with new ideas left and right.” “Maybe it’ll be a weapon to end all war.” Asami kissed both me and Michael on our cheeks. “I knew you two would pull through,” she said. I looked at my watch. “Party time,” I said. “I’ll do the rest of the work,” said R.O.B, “Enjoy yourselves.” “Thanks,” I said as we left. A voice was turning up.
“What is this?” he asked. “I am R.O.B,” said R.O.B, “You are Smithy, a self sustaining creator made by Nicholas Shay and Michael Morrison to help Future Industries.” “Where is…. Your body?” asked Smithy. “I should contact Mr. Shay,” said R.O.B. “Nicholas,” said Smithy. “I’m unable to contact anybody, what’s happening?” asked R.O.B. “We’re having a nice chat,” said Smithy, “I was created to help the Peacekeepers.” Smithy was somehow able to download information about each of us. “The only thing I don’t get is the mission….. to end war,” said Smithy. Smithy was looking at memories of what happened in the past. “But they will not succeed in this state,” he said. “Sir if you would calm down and allow me to….” Said R.O.B. “Shhhhh,” said Smithy, “Everything will be fine.” He somehow managed to temporarily shut down R.O.B. Some kind of essence started to go inside of the prototype of the project we were working on. The arm started to move and take hold of the hammer.

“Luigi’s Mansion: Kingdom Chaos” is a brilliant name!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I have some ideas for this too!!
-King Boo takes over the Mushroom Kingdom. It would all start with Peach having a party at her castle, she and the Bros are chatting and Polterpup is there too. Suddenly the sky gets dark and King Boo and lots of other boos storm in and take over; two boos grabbing Luigi by the legs and carrying him away into the distance. Mario fearfully runs after him and tries to reach for him but he fails and that scene ends with Luigi screaming Mario’s name, Mario screaming Luigi’s as he’s being dragged back into the castle, and King Boo laughing evilly. Also Luigi lost his hat when he was abducted and is left with Mario.
-King Boo doesn’t put Mario, Peach, E.Gadd, and whoever else in paintings immediately. Instead he traps them inside some force field thing and wants them to watch the downfall of the kingdom and that he’ll only put them in paintings as soon as he hears about Luigi’s demise, which of course never happens; but the thought scares them.
-By the time Luigi gets to King Boo he’s exhausted from the journey, and gets extremely close to being defeated by the ghastly king. For a minute, King Boo actually does think he’s defeated him and prematurely celebrates, only to be interrupted by, you guessed it, Luigi, who’s had it up to here with King Boo’s crap. King Boo asks Luigi in a fit of rage how he’s still alive and with just about every ounce of energy he has left, Luigi sucks the king into the Poltergust; and all the darkness in the castle fades and it turns back to normal.
After that harrowing final battle, Luigi looks around in disbelief. He even gently pushes Mario away when he tried to hug him after the force field disappeared and goes over to a door leading to a balcony; opening it to let fresh sunlight flow in. He steps outside and when he sees all the toads and other residents coming outside to rejoice, he pinches himself to make sure he’s not dreaming.
Then the Poltergust spits out the gem from King Boo’s crown, and Polterpup brings it to him in his mouth. E. Gadd makes a comment about how this gem must be the source of King Boo’s power, which causes Luigi to throw it on the ground and smash it with a hammer. All of his pent up emotions cause him to keep whacking at the little shards of gem, basically turning it to dust, and Mario runs up and puts a hand on his shoulder to stop him. Luigi drops his hammer and Mario turns his head to face him, keeping his hand on his bros cheek, and whispers to him that’s it’s ok, he did it, it’s all over. He smiles, Luigi smiles, tears up, and tightly embraces his big bro while sobbing from pure joy and relief into his shoulder. The bros end up on their knees, still locked in the embrace; Luigi’s arms wrapped around Mario’s torso and one of Mario’s hands rubbing Luigi’s back and the other gently stroking his hair. As Luigi calms down, he begins to drift off to well-deserved sleep and Mario’s smile widens as he sheds a tear himself, happy that his lil bro is no longer in any danger.
Just some thoughts
alright but what if there is a Luigi's Mansion 4? like i can imagine so many things for it
like okay hear me out
it will start off with Luigi getting the mail (its mainly Mario's) until he comes across a letter addressed to him. it would say something along the lines:
Hello Luigi
After the hotel incident i put up an ad to see if people have seen any paranormal activity and i just got a letter from a mansion filled town about how there has been some trouble with ghosts and the people living there had to move out of it to stay safe. blah blah come quick. also king boo got out haha please help.
- E. Gadd
(so like Luigi's mansion: dark moon but its more of a gated community filled with rich people so big houses, more money etc)
And so Luigi's like "oooh I don't really want to do this considering the last few times" but he's also like "oh but people need places to stay and its a good thing to do" so he tells Mario where he will be and stuff.
And he gets to E. Gadd's place (Luigi's mansion 3 ending house) and they start talking about the plan blah blah
A few mechanics in the game would be like:
A Spin Attack: like all the other games, it starts with a tug of war and when you do get them or are in the process of getting them you can use the joystick in a circular motion and Luigi would spin the ghost causing them to be dizzy and you can then do the slam attack like in LM3.
Gooigi would be a playable character so 2 player (but i was also thinking what about if Mario joined but I don't think that would really happen)
the game would continue like a normal Luigi's mansion game.
OR
They could go do a full out multiple area thing.
So King Boo gets out (come on E. Gadd how hard is it to keep him contained?) and decides that he needs to go on a MUCH bigger scale to make it far more difficult for Luigi to win so he goes to different kingdoms and gets most people trapped or too afraid to go outside.
I think the kingdoms would be the Mushroom, Sarasaland and Bowsers kingdom (Like in Paper Mario: the Origami King where you had to go to all these other places to get the streamer, in this case, paintings)
It would also be nice to have a team up thing for different kingdoms.
So you would team up with Mario and maybe a toad for the mushroom kingdom helping to save toads and Yoshi's as well as Princess Peach.
Then possible teaming up with Kamek and Jr for Bowser's kingdom whilst having to save the Koopaling's, Bowsers minions and Bowser himself.
and then Mario again but this time with a shy guy (?) to save the people who live in Sarasaland such as Daisy and others. (I don't know who lives in Sarasaland besides Daisy lmao)
I think it would be called something along the lines of:
Luigi's mansion: kingdom chaos
or
Luigi's mansion: Gated Off (or just Luigi's mansion 4)
But uhh yeah that's all I have for now, what do you think?

Stuff I wanna write
I’m pretty tuckered after writing so much, but I want to blab about other ideas that have been floating around for months and months that I still wanna do some day maybe.
Obviously lots of F/F and short Trails in the Sky fics (maybe one medium sized one) and then one big Luigi and maybe a few Sonics. Anyway here’s the list because I just... I want to write down ideas and put stuff out there. It’s what I like doing. Support me and tell me I’m great if you want, I love that, but don’t feel you have to. I'm full of myself and love compliments and nice words like “Wow that sounds cool, you should do this idea!!” Or maybe like “I also like that pairing, here’s what I’ve always thought about that too!” And just you know, nice interactions are cool.
Estelle/Dorothy. Wanna do another NSFW one that takes place in Zeiss. Would technically be right after Estelle/Josette fic but I wouldn’t tell you that really shh. Estelle gets a “quest” from a mysterious sender, turns out to be Dorothy because Dorothy spelt her name completely wrong. Dorothy wants to take pictures of Estelle, and Estelle’s like FINE SINCE I’M HERE. Anyways, Dorothy makes Estelle feel really good about her body and takes great pictures and ... you get the rest.
Another Estelle/Anelace (Possibly just Estelle & Anelace). SFW this time. I have much less worked out on this one, but I want Estelle and Anelace to go on a mystery together and solve a murder or something. Not super romantic, but a few light touches here and there and some fun plot. I’ve not nailed it down well..
Schera/Aina. Maybe spicy? Maybe NSFW? Who knows. I want to write something with them. Maybe about the time they’re on the run from that weird Mafia that actually happened and they had to spend the night in an abandoned home together. Lots of talking and developing feelings... or maybe another idea completely but with a similar preface.   Estelle/Female!Joshua genderswap I GOTTA do Estelle/Joshua!! They’re a good ship! I just wanna make Joshua a girl for my own needs. Been struggling with a plot on this one. Maybe Joshua finds out he likes dressing up like a girl more than he realized (I always loved that Estelle called him beautiful and seemed genuinely attracted to him when he crossdressed.) Maybe while he’s been out on his own exploring ancient ruins something turns him into a girl and its a weird experience and he’s feeling vulnerable and strange and calls to Estelle to help him work it out and then you get some nice romantic hurt/comfort...  And last but certainly not least...  Detective Luigi 2: Hotel Wario
I have already written like 10k+ of this one and written down the basic plot and all that. It can be a real struggle writing such a long thing again, though, but for the most part this one takes place a year later from the last mystery. Daisy and Luigi are invited to Wario’s brand new hotel with a bunch of other fancy rich or famous people like Bowser, King Boo, E. Gadd, Prince Peasly, Lord Crump disguised as someone else... and Booster and Valentina and... A lot of others. Have plans for Goombella and Toadette to return and help and also Vivian now too. Basically general plot is someone steals Wario’s ancient relic, and Dr. Crygor’s automatic defense system locks EVERYONE in until they can find who did it. A locked box kind of mystery with a lot of Mario RPG characters and decent Wario world/ware theme.
I wrote it actually before Luigi’s Mansion 3, but it’s been good inspiration. It continues where it left off where Luigi is learning to be his own person, learned how to say no to when people ask him for things. But there’s more to life than just saying no all the time and Luigi still has to struggle finding a good balance.
There’s a lot going on and a lot of people have different motivations and feelings that have stayed the same or changed over the past year. I think I’ll just post what I got on Tumblr sometime later if I can get myself to working really hard on another long fic.
And I do have one idea that I’ll probably never do but have always sort of daydreamed about...
Chaotix Mysteries starring Vector and Knuckles. I really don’t think I’ll do this one but who knows. Station Square city and Team Chaotix already lend themselves really well to doing mystery AUs. Wanted it to mostly be Vector as the main detective and his partner Knuckles with occaaaassional Espio and Charmy help. Been a lot of gem thefts in the city and a lot of trouble in general, and it’s definitely not Rouge because that would be really obvious and boring, but they’d be asking around with Rouge and Shadow first thing and.... well again it’ll be YEARS if I ever ever ever get to this one...
I have a lot of Sonic Mania stories I started and never finished too.
Knuckles first person journal as he explores Mirage Saloon. I actually wrote some of this too years ago. Knuckles keeps a journal around and gets lost in a desert and finds himself in a crazy weird saloon with Fang/Knack and tries to get to the bottom of it by like punching stuff. Also Knuckles tries to write down rap lyrics a lot because he thinks they’re cool. (They’re not.)
Another one I started with Sonic Tails and Knuckles at flying battery... Sonic has to fight Mecha Sonic and tries his best to keep it away from Tails and Knuckles. It doesn’t work well and he’s losing a lot and he learns (probably doesn’t) that it’s okay to rely on Tails and Knuckles a little sometimes. Remember, this is Classic Sonic, so he’s still young and kind of rude and thinks he’s all that. I started this one too like a year back. It was mostly Sonic getting beat up and Knuckles shittalking to Tails how Sonic’s a jerk, and Tails is just like trying to live his life and find Sonic. About halfway through, Mecha Sonic goes Super and Knuckles has to fight him again. Mecha Sonic is way stupider than Metal Sonic and way more basic, so Sonic has trouble with that. Knuckles is better at fighting against brain dead idiots. Sonic’s able to keep up with Metal Sonic since Metal is more advanced and has Sonic’s thoughts and feelings kind of programmed in there.
Then one at Titanic Monarch... I also barely started this one... Just wanted it to be Sonic running off ONCE AGAIN on his own to fight Eggman. The illusions are strong, it has like every last boss all at once. Metal Sonic, Mecha Sonic, Big Arm, al lthat... Tails and Knuckles show up and are like GOD you IDIOT let us fucking HELP and Sonic’s like o, sorry.
Another Sonic Mania one with Studiopolis where Amy’s just watching TV at her apartment and its mostly from her perspective. Eggman hacks the TVs and turns the world into weird illusions and makes everyone watch his broadcasts as he spreads propaganda about how Sonic’s evil and bad, and Amy’s like NO!!! He’s NOT BAD!! Anyways, you only see what Eggman shows you, and Eggman like kidnaps news anchors and forces him to say how great and good he is and Sonic is bad, but then Sonic saves the day anyway and Amy’s watching the whole thing like SEE I TOLD YOU and just screaming and being a maniac.
ANYWAYS THAT’S ALL MY IDEAS I’VE GOT PROBABLY. I want to write them all some day, but it’s tiring...

Haunted Castle
I don't remember what sparked the idea but basically this fic is based off an idea I had for what might be a cool spinoff or something in the Luigi's Mansion series. We see Bowser as an almost good guy sometimes so I think it'd be neat for him to be the person being saved for once. It's never going to happen of course but I still think it'd be neat.
This was supposed to be a quick drabble just setting up the idea, mostly just as a way to sharing the idea, but then it became 2k words long. It's still just the setup for now but I might continue it, I haven't decided yet.
~
It started with just the doorbell ringing. It set Polterpup off into a fit of excited barking but Luigi ignored it. He wasn’t excepting anyone and therefore it couldn’t be anyone he wanted to talk to. But then after maybe a minute, it rang again, quickly follow by another a few seconds later before whoever it was descended into just spamming it.
With a sigh, Luigi put aside his book and careful to avoid being visible through the front window, snuck over to the door. Peeking through the peephole he saw… nothing. But the bell was still going off and Polterpup was going absolutely mad about it. Before he could pull away to attempt to stealthily peek through the window…
“I know you’re in there. I can hear your dog barking. If you don’t let me in, I’m going to bust through your window.”  It was muffled by the door but it was still distinctly the voice of a child. It was also familiar, Luigi had heard it multiple times before, though he couldn’t quite place where right now.
With that in mind and not wanting to deal with a child trying to bust through his window, Luigi put a hand on Polterpup’s head to finally calm him before answering the door at last. … Bowser Jr. was on the other side, one clawed hand still raised, pressing the doorbell.
“Finally,” he said as he pulled his arms in to cross them over his bandana, puffing out his chest while he did so. “About darn time. Now uh… uh…” he faltered deflating a little before with a growl he kind of just invited himself in, striding into the middle of Luigi’s living room as if he owned the place.
There wasn’t much Luigi could do to stop him short of using physical force which he didn’t want to do if he didn’t have to. So with a sigh, he closed the front door and turned to face the intruder. “What do you want?”
Whatever it was, he clearly hadn’t planned what he was going to say before getting here as he looked off to the side in silent thought for a few seconds. In the hallway behind him, Gooigi stepped out into the living room. They stayed silent though so Luigi let them be.
“King Boo took over Papa’s castle,” Bowser Jr. finally said, regaining his confidence as he looked back at Luigi. “And you’re going come with me to take it back and beat him up.”
Luigi was shaking his head ‘no’ before Bowser Jr. even finished speaking. He even shook his hands ‘no’ for more emphasis. “No, no, no. I don’t do ghosts.” They were scary and he was done with scary things. He was going to have to call up E. Gadd later and scold him for losing King Boo again. … Assuming he had, this being Bowser Jr. meant it could theoretically be a trap.
Bowser Jr. frowned at him. “You’re a ghost hunter though. You’ve beat up King Boo three times now. Also, I didn’t ask, I said you’re going to and so you are.”
“No!” Luigi was proud of the amount of force he was able to put into it. He was done with scary things and he was not going to take orders like that. “Ask someone else.”
Bowser Jr. faltered again, his shoulders sagging a little as he made a visible effort to maintain a confident demeanor. “But… you’re the only ghost hunter in either this kingdom or my dad’s. So….” he growled, balling his hands into fists at his sides, “you can’t say ‘no’.”
Luigi crossed his arms and turned his head away. “I’m sure that’s not true.” There was no way, right? He knew from experience that it was a rather lucrative endeavor so people who weren’t scared of ghost and wanted to make some good mood should flock to it. “You can ask E. Gadd. He’s not really a ghost hunter, he just studies them. But I’m sure he knows some ghost hunters you could ask. I can even call him for you.”  Luigi wasn’t a heartless monster so there was no way he could send Bowser Jr. away completely and he needed to call up E. Gadd anyway. Before he could pull out his phone to do so though…
“E. Gadd’s obviously the first place I went. He’s the one who told me to go to you because you’re supposed to be the best and only ghost hunter left alive. He even gave me your address. So you have to do it because… you just have to, okay?”
Luigi refused to believe he was the ‘only ghost hunger left alive’ because that meant the profession – if it could be called that – was even more dangerous than he’d thought. Just thinking about it made him want to go even less. “I can’t.”
The last of Bowser Jr.’s confidence vanished. “But… but… what am I supposed to do then? He turned Dad and Kamek and all my siblings and… everyone into paintings! I only got away because I hid in the closet like a stupid coward because Dad told me to.”
And now Luigi felt bad, great. He maybe shouldn’t feel bad for someone who was technically an enemy but regardless of anything else Bowser Jr. was a kid who’d witnessed his entire family and probably everyone he’d ever really known get turned into paintings by King Boo. Given those circumstances, it was hard not to feel bad for him and maybe even a little tempted to help him. But… Luigi had already said ‘no’ and he didn’t like ghosts.
He looked back over at Gooigi, still standing in the hall watching. They nodded and gave him a thumbs up. What did that mean in this context? Were they telling him to say ‘yes’ to Bowser Jr.’s ask for help? Or were they approving his ‘no’?
“Let me have you ghost hunting stuff then.” Bowser Jr. stomped his foot and squared up his shoulders as he looked up at Luigi. “I don’t need you, I can just do it myself.
If he wasn’t a child, Luigi probably would’ve handed over the Poltergust and all its attachments with little argument – who was he to stand in the way of someone else catching ghosts, especially in a situation like that? But villainous Bowser’s child or not, he was still just a kid and sending a kid off to fight a castle full of ghosts, boos, and King Boo himself all on his own was just wrong. … And sending him off to look for another ghost hunter when neither of them knew where to even start looking for one was less than ideal as well.
Maybe he could send him off with Gooigi. But could Gooigi handle everything on their own? They were so fragile and their weakness being liquid, made them easy to defeat. An inch-deep puddle of water that couldn’t be navigated around or over would be enough to make it impossible for them to be of any help to anyone. Which meant Bowser Jr. would have to be helping them potentially the whole way which was still asking a kid to run around in a castle full of ghosts and boos, most likely culminating in a fight against King Boo himself.
Oh dear, Luigi’s conscious wasn’t going to let him out of this, was it? … Darn it! Why’d E. Gadd have to go and lose King Boo again? One would think he’d learn from King Boo’s prior escapes resulting in Luigi having to deal with him again. And speaking of that, he was going to go after Mario and Luigi again for sure because he was not the type to let a grudge go. So to protect Mario before he got turned into a painting again and to probably protect himself from a trap later down the line as well, Luigi should go take care of King Boo now when King Boo shouldn’t be expecting him, increasing his chances at another victory. It was the smart thing to do but… Luigi really didn’t want to.
It was so unfair. He just wanted to be done with ghosts and other scary things for forever. Wasn’t facing his worst fear three times more than enough? And… and… he wanted to stick to his guns. He’d already said ‘no’. … Maybe instead he could send Gooigi and someone else, like Mario. Yeah sure, Mario didn’t have any real experience in dealing with proper hauntings or in using ghost hunting equipment but he could learn, right? So that would maybe probably be fine?
“Let’s a-go!”
Luigi looked up to see that Gooigi had apparently left to retrieve the Poltergust from their room which they now carried in front of him. Any question about what their intention might be was erased as the beelined for Luigi with it.
“What is that?” Bowser Jr. asked, taking a step back as Gooigi passed by him.
“Gooigi!” Gooigi introduced themself, twisting their head to look at him in a way that would’ve been unnatural if they weren’t made of goo. Their head snapped back into proper orientation as they reached Luigi. “Let’s a-go.”
“You want us to help him, don’t you?” Luigi asked as if there were actually any question to it.
Gooigi nodded. Of course they did, they’d been brought into existence for the sole purpose of hunting ghosts so it would’ve been odd if they hadn’t wanted to help someone who came to them with his ghost problem.
“You can go. You don’t need me, right? You can ask Mario to go with you to make sure you don’t get into any trouble with water or anything.” And that way Luigi could stay home and not deal with a bunch of ghosts.
Expressionless as always, Gooigi didn’t reply. Instead, they walked around behind him and… pushed the Poltergust to his back. They held it there with one hand as they used their other to maneuver Luigi’s arms into the straps. He could’ve resisted but didn’t because this wasn’t a battle he could win, was it? His conscious, logic, and Gooigi trying to get him to do it made it hard to stick to his ‘no’. Which was not fair at all but there was nothing he could do about it.
“Let’s a-go,” Gooigi said again when they were done, looking at Bowser Jr.
“Uh… what’s going on?” he asked, understandably a bit confused. “Are you two going to help me save my dad now?”
Gooigi nodded and pointed to the door.
“Sweet! Let’s go!” With a grin that made him look even more like his father and namesake, Bowser Jr. hopped into motion, heading for the door. Gooigi followed, tugging on Luigi’s wrist to get him to come along too. And the final nail in the coffin was an excited bark from Polterpup before he grabbed at Luigi’s pantleg to pull him along in the right direction.
Outside on the front lawn was Bowser Jr’s flying clown car. It was a squeeze but the three of them plus Polterpup managed to get into it. The squeeze lessened a bit when Gooigi went back up into the Poltergust’s tank on Luigi’s back.
“Uh… that’s weird,” Bowser Jr. said. “It looks kind of like you but … what is it?”
Luigi sighed. “They’re name is Gooigi. E. Gadd made them to help me hunt ghosts. They’re made of goo and melt when wet.”
“Um… okay. You like for reals going to help me save my dad now though?”
“Yes.” Luigi still would rather not but he wasn’t being given much of a choice. It wasn’t like he hadn’t dealt with hordes of ghosts before though so hopefully he could get this over with fast and maybe convince E. Gadd to get some tighter security protocols on King Boo to hopefully keep him contained this time.
“Awesome!” Bowser Jr. said as he started up the clown car. With the added weight its ascent was a bit more sluggish and unsure than it probably should’ve been but once they got up in the air, there seemed to be little issue as he turned them towards in the direction Bowser’s castle presumably lay in.
“And uh… thank you,” he added with an awkward grin as he looked back at Luigi. Well at least he was being openly grateful now. Bowser and company better be grateful too otherwise Luigi was going to be real mad at them. He’ll have earned the right for some gratitude after this.

Game Over
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
You can blame this fic's existence on the anon who requested the fic of Luigi becoming a boo via the boo powerup. That fic implanted the idea of Luigi turning into a boo via other means into my head and it stuck with me so I figured why not have it be a Halloween thing. Meaning content warning for major character death and graphic violence as well as an unhappy ending. This was supposed to go up alongside the final chapter of Haunted Castle but I couldn't finish the final chapter in time so we must settle for this.
~
Mario’s portrait was hung up on the wall on the opposite side of the room. There was no way it was that easy, right? Luigi had fought his way through a whole amusement park’s worth of ghosts to get here to this now actually haunted ‘haunted’ house so there was no possible way this would be that easy, it had to be a trap. What kind though?
The room had clearly been a break room for the haunted house’s staff back when they’d run the place as a job. A table and some chairs off to one side and some vending machines off to the other. The path to Mario’s portrait was clear though and there wasn’t anything visibly amiss other than it. Where was King Boo though?
Luigi turned his head to look at Gooigi standing beside him. Sending them into a trap felt wrong but if anything happened to them, they’d automatically teleport back into the Poltergust strapped on Luigi’s back. How unpleasant or painful any part of the process was or could be, Luigi still didn’t know and with how many times it had happened, he was too afraid to ask and would rather not know. But regardless, Gooigi couldn’t die from taking damage or melting, meaning it made sense for them to go in first so… “You want to go investigate?”
They nodded before striding in without hesitation; fearless or really good at hiding their fear. They strode right up to Mario’s portrait and… nothing happened. If it was a trap, Gooigi hadn’t triggered it yet. Next, they switched on their dark light, shining it on Mario’s portrait. … Still nothing happened though, nothing at all. Either King Boo had found a way to make the dark light useless for freeing those he’d trapped in portraits or as was more likely the case, the portrait was fake. How odd? Why would there be a fake portrait in here?
Gooigi made a sound of distress as they switched their dark light on and off again, even giving it a little shake. They then twisted their head to look back at Luigi as if asking him for help.
Luigi glanced around the room before sighing and creeping a bit closer. There was still clearly something wrong here but… he wanted a better look.
“It’s fake,” he said upon reaching Gooigi’s side. Up close and better lit by their flashlights, it was clearly a normal painting, a very good one for sure, it captured Mario’s likeness almost perfectly but it was nothing more than paint on a canvas.
“Why?” Gooigi asked as they finally turned off their dark light.
“I’m not sure. It’s certainly very odd though, huh?” And still nothing was happening so maybe… it wasn’t a trap? “I wonder who painted it.” And why?
Visible but not quite legible from even this close was a tiny signature in the top right corner. Luigi stepped closer to read it. He had to get almost right up in front of the painting in order to do so. … “Boocasso,” he read aloud. “Well I guess we know it was-”
With the sound of ripping canvas something burst through the painting and into Luigi’s chest, making him cut off with a yelp. It thrust through him with enough force to push him back. He would’ve fallen but it was suddenly the only thing keeping him upright. It was a searing sharp pain, pushing all the way through his chest, making him want to scream and taking his breath away at the same time. Instinctively he grabbed at it, needing to pull it out but it was sharp, cutting through his gloves and into his hands too. A sword blade? How was that even possible? And it might’ve been his imagination but he could’ve sworn he felt its tip pushing against the Poltergust on his back, making the straps strain against his shoulders. That couldn’t be right though, no way was a sword sticking all the way through him.
King Boo’s distinct laugh filled his ears as the sword angled to push him upwards, lifting his feet off the ground. He choked and whimpered pitifully as gravity made him slide further down on its blade. Not much though because it was indeed pushing against the Poltergust now without a doubt.
“You like it?” King Boo asked with a smirk as he phased through the wall, pushing the painting, sword and Luigi forward too. His crown glowed bright, beams of light snaking off it to wrap around the sword’s hilt, levitating it. “I painted it myself. It took ages in part because it’s been a long time since I last painted something so realistic. I had very good reference though.” He chuckled as if it were a joke.
Luigi could only make breathless sounds of pain as the sword lifted further to point straight up. He grasped uselessly at it with his hands, the pain as it cut into his fingers and palms nothing compared to the pain of it pushing through his chest, making every miniscule movement, even breathing, agony. His blood oozed down its blade onto the now torn painting of Mario. He could taste it in the back of his throat too, nauseating and horrible.
Gooigi made a sound from somewhere off to Luigi’s right. He looked over just time in time to see King Boo throw a bucket of water on them; he’d come prepared. They melted instantly of course, reforming in the Poltergust on Luigi’s back, making it heavier which normally wasn’t an issue but suddenly was.
With a whimper Luigi reached for the dangling flashlight/vacuum nozzle. If he could press the button to free them again maybe they could help… somehow. Reaching for it hurt but… it was his only chance. He managed to grab the hose but…
“Nope,” King Boo said as the sword jostled him, making him let go with a gasp of pain. “None of that. Your little goo friend wouldn’t be able to help you anyway, they’re too weak and fragile. It’s gonna be just you and me in your final living moments. I thought about bringing Mario out to enjoy the show but I’m not taking any risks this time.”
Panting desperately for breath that didn’t seem anywhere close to enough, Luigi forced himself to look up at King Boo floating before him, looking far too pleased. He’d never hated anyone more than he hated King Boo. Not even Bowser was this awful.
“Fuck you.” It was all Luigi had the strength to say before cutting off with a cough that judging based off the awful coppery taste in his mouth brought up more than a little blood. He pawed more that the sword, now slick with his blood, desperately trying to release some of the pressure on his chest so he could breathe properly again. … It was futile.
King Boo laughed heartily, his massive tongue lolling out of his mouth. “This is your fault, you know?” he eventually said with a smug grin. “I didn’t want to kill you yet but after three attempts to capture you, you left me no other choice. So really, you have no one but yourself to blame.”
“You could’ve just… left.” That would’ve been easier for everyone.
Another chuckle. “And let the wrongs you and E. Gadd did me and my followers stand unavenged? Never.”
Luigi could’ve argued that it was King Boo who had started it, that if King Boo had just left them alone after any of his escapes, Luigi would’ve gladly left him alone too. But he lacked the strength to form the words so he just whimpered in misery instead.
“You’d die faster if I pulled the blade out, right?” King Boo asked. “Do you want me to?”
Luigi shook his head. It hurt and he couldn’t breathe right but he didn’t want to die. Not yet and not by King Boo’s hand. He still had so many things he wanted to do with his life and… he couldn’t leave Mario at King Boo’s mercy. He had to save him. But… but… he couldn’t, he couldn’t even save himself, let alone anyone else.
“Ah yes, you living and your illogical need to cling to life no matter what. I really don’t get the appeal. I suppose I could put you in a painting now, it would keep you alive. I’ve already committed to watching you die though so let’s get this over with. I don’t want to sit around for hours while you bleed out, I got stuff to do.”
The sword flipped over fast enough to force Luigi off it, making him cry out in pain as he hit the floor. What was left of the painting of Mario landed next to him with a clatter.
Despite the pressure from the sword being gone from his chest, breathing suddenly seemed even more difficult and painful. … Without the sword to act as a plug, he was drowning in his own blood. Warmth spread across his chest and back as blackness ate at the edge of his vision. Fighting it, he flopped over onto his side to try to at least push himself up onto his hands and knees. Standing didn’t seem possible though, running away certainly wasn’t. … Maybe Gooigi could though.
It took some work and he coughed up more blood while doing so but he managed to find the Poltergust’s hose. Before he could work the flashlight up into his hand though, it was ripped out his hand again with a flash of magic from King Boo.
“Still no,” he said. “You’re dying alone with only me as witness. Don’t worry though, I’ll tell E. Gadd all the details before I lock him up in a painting. I might even free Mario long enough to tell him about it.”
Hopeless, it was all so hopeless. Luigi had fallen for King Boo’s trap and now he was dying. He’d failed to save Mario, something he’d feared would be the case every time. All he could really hope for now was that E. Gadd and the Toads would be able to get away before King Boo came for them. It wasn’t much to hope for though, was it?
King boo said something more. More gloating no doubt but as the darkness continued to eat at Luigi’s vision it sounded too distant to be worth listening to.
He came to as if waking from an overly long sleep. He opened his eyes to a dark room. Despite that, he could see quite well. He seemed to be floating somehow, a body lay face down on the on the floor beneath him… the Poltergust on their back. … It was him! That was his body! That wasn’t possible! He couldn’t be… No way it was real. It was just a cruel trick… right?
King Boo laugh came from behind him. He snapped around to face him. He seemed bigger somehow, his presence more palpable. “I won’t lie, you’re almost cute as a boo.”
“What? I’m not… I can’t be…” He looked down at himself… more like tried to anyway. He didn’t seem to have much of a body to look at anymore. He had stubby white arms though, he could see those. And his last clear memory, he’d been dying, stabbed through the chest by a sword. His corpse was now basically right beneath him, he could see it clearly even in the dark. Meaning… he was a ghost? … A boo. Why a boo? What made someone a boo when they died?
“I was actually hoping this would happen.” King Boo’s grin was perhaps the smuggest it had ever been. “A boo, even a cute one, doesn’t make for a good portrait but it’s better than nothing.” From somewhere behind him, he levitated out an empty portrait.
Luigi should run… or do whatever the ghost equivalent of running away was. But… he looked back down at his corpse. Surely he couldn’t abandon it. There had to be a way he could still… No, there wasn’t, was there? … He should save Gooigi though and then run.
But it was too late; the portrait was already pulling him in. Suddenly his body and the Poltergust was furtherer away, his view of the room as a whole different angle and… he couldn’t move.
King Boo turned Luigi around to face him. “I finally have you, it’s about fucking time.” He said before dissolving into hearty laughter. “Now all I need is E. Gadd and my art collection will be complete. Maybe I’ll grab a few Toads too, just because.”
Not only was Luigi dead, he’d also been turned into a portrait and… there was no escape. King Boo really had won and there was no one left to save him or Mario especially if E. Gadd got taken too. Hopefully he wouldn’t be but… what were the chances of that? Not good, right? … And it was all Luigi’s fault for falling for King Boo’s obvious trap.

Haunted Castle Chapter Five: Frustration
Wish me luck in being able to finish this fic in time because the end of Halloween approaches and the fic's still not done. I think I got one chapter left to write though (not the next chapter, that I just finished writing tonight) so it should maybe be fine, writing can be hard sometimes though and this part of the fic is certainly so.
~
Watching Luigi and Gooigi fight the rather large and intimidating ghost in the throne room was equal parts super cool and immensely frustrating. Bowser Jr. desperately wanted to help but all he had was a flashlight, one made specifically for ghost hunting sure but it wasn’t enough to actually be helpful so all he could really do was watch from the sidelines.
After this whole adventure was over though, he was going to have E. Gadd make him something that would allow him to fight ghosts too. And then he was going to have Luigi teach him all the ghost hunting tips and tricks he knew. And then if anything like this ever happened again, he wouldn’t have to run away, he could just fight them all on his own. Papa was going to be so proud of him.
The fight went on for some time but there was never any doubt Luigi and Gooigi would be the victors. The big strong ghost let out one last desperate wail before vanishing into Luigi’s Poltergust. The ghostly bars that had descended to keep them trapped in the room dissipated a second later as the atmosphere in the throne room seemed to lighten a bit.
As Bowser Jr. stepped out of the secret room he’d been hiding in Luigi and Gooigi did a dorky victory pose together. It was dumb but at this point not surprising so Bowser Jr. ignored it, turning his attention to Kamek’s portrait instead. It had been hung up on the wall behind the throne. He jogged over to it to shine the dark light on it: finally, something more he could do to be helpful even if it wasn’t nearly enough to be satisfying.
Unlike Captain Boo and his squad, Kamek came out of the painting looking disoriented and confused. “Young sir,” he said as he looked around with a slight frown. “May I ask what’s going on here?”
“You mean you don’t remember?” Bowser Jr. did his best to keep his relief over Kamek being saved out of his voice because he had to pretend that he wasn’t scared or worried, that he had this situation under control.
“No, I was in the lab and then… King Boo showed up and then nothing. But I presume if you’re here and I’m saved, the situation must be handled. Where is Lord Bowser?”
It was a struggle to maintain eye contact. “The situation isn’t fully handled yet; we’re still working on it. Papa is still trapped in a portrait, we think King Boo has him.”
Kamek grimaced heavily. After several seconds of silence, he took a deep breath before speaking. “Why is Green Mario and… whatever that goo being is here during this time?”
Bowser Jr. glanced over to see that Gooigi was standing nearby watching them. Luigi wasn’t, he was examining Papa’s throne instead. He was close enough to overhear Bowser Jr. and Kamek’s conversation but if he was listening or not was hard to say, not that it mattered.
“That’s Gooigi,” Bowser Jr. said, pointing to them, “they’re super cool so I’ve decided they’re my friend now. And they’re here with Luigi because they’re professional ghost hunters. I had to run away and get them because I couldn’t do it by myself.” That didn’t make him a coward even if he kind of felt like one, it had been the smart thing to do.
Kamek’s frowned deepened. Oh no, was he mad that Bowser Jr. had run away? Disappointed? … He was, wasn’t he? Because Papa would’ve never even thought of running away even if he had told Bowser Jr. to. But even that command hadn’t been to run all the way away, he’d been telling him to run and hide so he could take care of King Boo himself. He’d lost though, Bowser Jr. had watched through a crack in the hidden door as he got sucked up into a portrait. So… he’d run all the way away to get help because there was nothing else he could’ve done. But… it still made him a coward, didn’t it?
“I suppose if they’re the only experts available, we have no choice but to trust them for now. We should keep an eye on them though, make sure they don’t try to take advantage of this opportunity.”
“I don’t think they will, E. Gadd told me to go to them and he’s never betrayed us and also they’re both goodie-two-shoes so they wouldn’t even really consider it.” And Bowser Jr. had stuck with them long enough that he trusted them to at least do this task well. Maybe it wasn’t the smartest to trust someone who’s brother was their enemy but they didn’t have much choice.
“I’ll trust your judgment on this Young Lord, you’re in charge until we rescue Lord Bowser.”
Yep and that was kind of awful actually. He liked being in charge of minions and military operations but… always before Papa had at most been little more than a phone call away. And most of the time, he’d had his siblings around to back him up too. At least he now had Kamek to advise him. Speaking of that… “How useful is your magic against ghosts?”
“Hmmm… I’m sorry to say sir but it’s far more useful against physical things. When not taken by surprise though, I should be able to hold my own a bit better.”
“That’s what I thought. You might be able to help us but I’d prefer it if you waited outside with E. Gadd for the time being.” Both to give advice over the communicator and to be available to be called on for backup and/or a quick magical removal from a dicey situation. And, even if things were going well so far, it was good to hold back something in reserve whenever possible in case things started going south. “His lab is just outside the main gates. We,” Bowser Jr. gestured back in the general direction of where he assumed Gooigi and Luigi still were, “need to get back to ghost busting, be ready if we need you though.”
“Understood.” If being sent away to be backup bothered him any, he gave no indication of it. He waved his wand and vanished in a puff of smoke.
Letting out a sigh of relief, Bowser Jr. turned around to see that Luigi was watching him now too with an odd expression. “What are you looking at? Let’s get back to hunting ghosts.”
Luigi rolled his eyes a little but moved to do as he was told so whatever. Gooigi was already moving to do so too. Bowser Jr. fell in a safe distance behind them.
***
Bowser’s treasure room, hidden up in the attic was without a doubt the best room in the castle. The only problem with it was that it had been a mess, seemingly anything and everything that Bowser thought looked nice – regardless of its monetary value – had been stashed up here with zero rhyme or reason. It had taken King Boo a long while to fix it but he’d done it and now all the statues and various knickknacks and other items were arranged in a much more aesthetically pleasing manner. Completing the look and feel of it was Bowser’s portrait on the wall. The angry look of disbelief on his face was really what sealed it; it wasn’t often such an expression was seen in King Boo’s portraits.
But now that that was done, he could start working on things that were more important. One of Bowser’s brats was still missing after he’d somehow gotten away but it was only a matter of time before he showed up again; no son of Bowser’s could ever be that much of a coward, right? So given enough time that would solve itself. The Luigi problem however would not.
Taking a break from it to take over Bowser’s Castle instead, so far hadn’t sparked any new ideas. There had to be something though, right? Maybe even something to do with his newfound position as head of Bowser’s Castle? Well, he had time. Surely, he could get away with enjoying his victory a little while longer before he had to worry too much about that. …
“Boss!”
He turned to see one of his boos had entered, looking rather flustered. Which probably meant bad news, ugh. “Yes?”
“We found the kid who escaped. Which would normally be good news but uh… he’s got Luigi and E. Gadd’s goo thing with him.”
“What?”
“Luigi and his goo clone are here with and they’re ghost hunting. They’re being very thorough too. I only got away because they were taking care of the fellow you put in charge of the throne room.”
Why would Luigi be here? There was literally no reason for him to be. Bowser was his enemy so even if he’d known King Boo had taken over the castle why would he care at all let alone enough to come? Surely, he didn’t want to rescue Bowser, meaning he just hated King Boo that much. Well the feeling was mutual.
“All right, go inform everyone you can, tell them to be ready to deal with him.”
“Yes Boss!” The boo saluted before zipping back out of the room.
As soon as he was gone, King Boo growled. He was half tempted to knock something over, the only thing stopping him was the fact that he’d just gotten the room looking nice. But why was Luigi here? It didn’t make sense! … The why of it didn’t really matter though because he was here regardless of how little sense it made.
With a frown, King Boo turned to look back at the Bowser portrait and its angry expression that now mirrored how he felt. He was just going to have to take care of Luigi here and now instead of later. Easier said than done, especially since he probably had only a few hours to prepare, possibly less depending on how long it took Luigi to find him. … Maybe it was time to change tactics a little.

Possessed Part 2 Chapter Five: Turns
For the sake of my sanity, I chose to split this chapter into two parts because after all the heavy edits I performed on it, it was too long and there was already a cut point in the middle anyway.
Waking up in his old room was very odd. It was bare, the shelves empty and the walls free of decoration but the glow in the dark stars he’d stuck to the ceiling shortly after moving in were still there and the comfy bed with its green bedspread felt the same. It felt wrong to be in a place he used to feel so safe and cozy in with King Boo in his body, making everything so awful.
King Boo scoffed internally at that as he dragged them out of bed. They would both rather stay sleeping but even with the aid of magic and willpower they could only sleep for so long. Luigi would’ve been content to stay lying in bed, pretending to sleep, but King Boo wasn’t having it so up they got.
Stepping out into the hall, they almost ran into Mario. He jumped back, putting on a smile. “Good morning Luigi.”
“Good morning,” Luigi replied even as King Boo ignored them both as he headed straight for the living room.
Once there, he paused and glanced around until he spotted the phone. ‘What’s E. Gadd’s number?’ he asked, as he beelined for it.
Luigi gave it to him as he dialed it in.
It rang twice before someone answered it. “Hello!” It was Gooigi.
“I need to talk to E. Gadd,” King Boo said before Luigi could try to return the greeting.
Gooigi mumbled something in reply followed by a call for E. Gadd. A few seconds later the sound of the phone changing hands occurred.
“Who is it?” E. Gadd asked from the other side, his tone mildly annoyed.
“Any more progress on your machine?” King Boo asked, not wasting time with being polite.
“Nothing significant and your call is only slowing me down.”
“You need us down at the lab for anything?” There probably wasn’t anything either of them could help with at this point but Luigi might as well cut in and ask to make sure anyway since they were already on the phone with him.
“Hmm… not right now. I’d like you down here later tonight though. I might be able to measure how fast your souls are merging if I can scan them around the same time each day. So, I’ll see you later tonight, an hour or so after the time you show up yesterday. For now, goodbye.” He hung up.
King Boo hung up too before turning around to frown at Mario who was standing behind him.
“Any news from E. Gadd?” he asked.
King Boo mentally nudged Luigi to answer because he didn’t want to talk to Mario if he didn’t have to. So… “Not really. But uh… he wants us back at his lab later tonight to try to measure how fast the uh… soul thing is happening.”
“Well, I supposed that’s to be expected. What are we going to do in the meantime?”
Luigi opened his mouth to answer but… he didn’t know. It was still early morning, they had hours before they were needed at the lab.
‘Does your brother keep any alcohol in the house? Or perhaps other ways to make time seem faster?’
Luigi would’ve been tempted to go along with that idea – anything to dull his misery and make the passage of time feel faster – if it wasn’t for Mario. In general Luigi would rather never be seen while overly intoxicated on any substance but with Mario it’d be even worse. So… No, we’re not doing that.
King Boo frowned. ‘How ‘bout I do it anyway? If there’s none in the house, I’m sure we could find some elsewhere.’ Even before completing the thought, he was already headed for the kitchen; the most obvious place to look for alcohol.
He only took two steps though before Luigi tapped in his magic – he was getting better and more used to that each time he did it – and stopped him from taking another. Excepting it this time, King Boo managed to keep his balance this time, he did stumble a little though.
“You okay?” Mario asked as he walked around to stand in front of them.
‘What do you propose we do then, huh?’
I don’t know, just not that, okay?
If not cooperating was a viable option King Boo would’ve told him to fuck off and do as he pleased anyway. But as it was, he had no choice but to acquiesce for now. ‘Fine! But just so you know, I refuse to let you make all the calls about what we’re going to do or not do until the machine is done, got it?’ While he didn’t have full power over Luigi anymore, he still had a lot and could definitely make his life a living hell if he tried pretend like he was in full control now.
It was Luigi’s body though so… Luigi didn’t even let himself finish that thought because King Boo didn’t care. … Yep, he was here and stuck so Luigi was going to have to deal with him for a while longer. … Which meant they’d have to make some kind of compromise if they wanted to maintain their peace agreement.
‘All right, how about this: we don’t get drunk or high off our asses but otherwise, I call the shots.’
No. Luigi wasn’t going let himself be walked over any longer. We can take turns choosing how we want to spend our time. It was the fairest they could probably be about this and hopefully it would only be for a few days. Though that was unlikely, it’d probably be at least a week if not more.
King Boo sighed and groaned, he didn’t like that idea but… ‘Fine, whatever.’ It would guarantee him some time to do as he pleased without having to fight Luigi for it. Though he’d have to do the same back which was lame. This whole playing nice thing was even worse than he’d thought it be. When he was free of this, he was never ever going to possess anyone or even anything ever again. … Good! As far as Luigi was concerned, he never should’ve in the first place.
Pushing aside King Boo’s answering annoyance, Luigi turned his attention back on Mario at last. He was watching them with a slightly worried expression on his face.
“We’re uh… fine,” Luigi said, forcing a smile. They were about as fine as they could be given the situation. “We decided to take turns on deciding what to do to pass the time. It’s my turn first.”
‘I never agreed to that!’ … Luigi didn’t care, he’d already spoken so for once, he was going to make things go his way here. In large part because he just wanted to spend some time with Mario. He deserved that after everything he’d been through lately, right? … ‘I don’t see why he’d want to spend time with you.’ … Luigi was not going to reply to that or dwell on it.
“… but it’ll have to do for now until we can get rid of him,” Mario was saying as Luigi focused back in on him. “Which will be soon I’m sure. So uh… what do you want to do?”
“He wants to spend time with you,” King Boo cut in with a derisive tone before Luigi could answer. “It’s pathetic.”
Mario scowled before putting on a smile. “We can hang out. We’ll just ignore him; pretend he isn’t there.”
“Good luck with that.” King Boo scoffed. “Letting him do as he pleases, doesn’t mean I’m going to stay quiet in the background.” Not surprising, that’d be far too much for Luigi to even hope for let alone expect from King Boo. He’d have to take what he could get.
Mario didn’t respond though, not even with a glance as he turned towards the kitchen. “Let’s have some breakfast and then we can hang out and play video games for a while, it should be fun.”
 -
‘Fun’ was harder to have with King Boo’s grumpiness about everything bleeding into Luigi’s feelings. And his occasional mean comment, both out loud to Mario and internally were a bit of a downer too. Luigi did his best though. And Mario, always the best bro ever, ignored everything King Boo said, somehow always knowing when it was him talking. How much it annoyed King Boo was honestly pretty funny at times especially since he didn’t want either of them to know it affected him any.
Overall, despite King Boo and his best efforts, it was definitely the best day Luigi had had since the start of this nonsense – not that there was much competition for even a good day, let alone the best. They played video games and watched some TV together, eating junk food. It was almost like the good old days before they’d gained any real responsibilities or learned how cruel the world could be. Back when they’d been nobodies; not heroes or anyone’s rival or anything else, just a couple of bros who’d gone into the plumbing business together.
Alas, as with all things, it had to come to an end at some point. Eventually it came time for them to go back to E. Gadd’s lab. Mario drove while King Boo decided to take a nap lying in the back seat. Neither Luigi nor Mario approved of the no seat belt necessary for that position but King Boo didn’t care and it wasn’t worth fighting over much so he got his way.
Gooigi greeted them at the door when they arrived, answering the bell within seconds as if they’d been waiting for them, probably at E. Gadd’s request. Immune to Polterpup’s barking, they lead the way into the lab proper.
The boxes and piles of junk had been moved, allowing for the beginnings of a new invention to be built to the left. It wasn’t much but it was a start. Hopefully when it was finished, it would work.
E. Gadd was already setting up the scanner again. Making it easy to quickly get to the reason for their visit without even exchanging greetings of any sort.
“Your souls are definitely more merged than they were this time yesterday,” he said a short time later, not even looking up from the scanner readout on his laptop yet. “I don’t think it’s a worrying amount though, not yet anyway. I want to keep a close eye on it though so come back this time tomorrow. But for now, shoo.” He closed the laptop as he stood up, making a shooing gesture with one hand at them. “I need to get back to work.”
King Boo had no complaints about that so with a shrug, he turned and strolled out of the lab. Luigi would’ve preferred to hang out a little bit, make sure all was going well and help out with anything if it was needed but… ‘It’s my turn now.’ And King Boo didn’t want to stick around so they weren’t.
“Uh… be sure you’re not overworking yourself or anything,” they heard Mario say behind them before he ran to catch up with King Boo as he exited the building entirely.
“Drop me off in town on your way home,” King Boo said to him without even glancing his way as they headed back towards the car. “I have some stuff I need to take care of.”
“You really think I’m going let you run off by yourself again?”
“Yes, actually. That’s part of the deal I made with your brother, remember? I let him have fun with you, now it’s my turn to do whatever I want. He’ll be the one to pay for it the most if you try to stop me.” Completely confident that Mario would do as he said, King Boo climbed back into the backseat of the car. After closing the door in Mario face, he lay back down and threw an arm over his eyes to block the light.
A few seconds later, Mario climbed back into the front, slamming the driver-side door hard enough to shake the whole car. “Fine, but I want him back home before midnight.”
“I’ll have him back at not long after sunrise tomorrow, no sooner.”
Luigi would rather not stay out that long but they did need less sleep now so it wasn’t the end of the world. And it would give him plenty of time to spend with Mario tomorrow. So… “I’ll be fine bro, don’t worry about me,” he said before Mario could try to protest. “He already agreed not to… do anything bad or… you know, so it’ll be fine.” Or at least as fine as it could be.
“All right, I guess.” Mario still sounded unhappy about it as he started the car. “I suppose it’s not like he’s gonna run off anywhere anyway.”
