I didn't get him (and I need to save my keys for Silver's birthday, sob) so I looked up his groovy, and I'm not over how incredibly dramatic and epic and cool it looks in direct contrast to the absolutely ridiculous context. just look at that dynamic action and his majestic sparkling tears and keep in mind that this is pretty much right after a bunch of characters have been dance battling for his soul.

and then even the actual moment of the groovy is just like

i honestly have zero grasp of which Mountain Goats songs are even popular outside of the obvious (No Children, This Year)… people will post about adoring songs i’ve never heard of from albums i forget exist half the time and get 500 notes, but a few weeks ago i was talking to someone at a show who’s seen them live seven times and told her my favorite songs were Snow Crush Killing Song and Maize Stalk Drinking Blood and she had no idea what the hell i was talking about

finished hazbin hotel and what the fuck it's actually kind of??? good???

#random thoughts #i like it at least #the finale is SO GOOOOOOOD OH MY GOD #sir pentious going to heaven? alastor's solo? LILITH DROP???#like there are A LOT of things that could have been done better #like how vaggie as a character is very one-note and how angel's abuse is handled could DEFINITELY be better #especially considering how they handle pentious's gang rape (like tf)#but to be fair that joke was more a play on pentious's cowardice. the joke was more about how him bowing out of flirting escalated #rule of three's and all that #but god. when adam's mask cracked it DEFINITELY made me realize i thought that was just his face #'you only live because i let you' is such a petty way to phrase mercy #i DEFINITELY need to watch some analysis videos because am i missing stuff??? is it secretly bad???#yknow besides all the stuff with the creator which like. idr everything she did that was a shitshow #but like even the rape jokes are pretty mild for an adult comedy? they got rid of most of the offensive jokes pretty fast huh #most adult cartoons the first season or so is dedicated to the most offensive jokes before The Plot takes over #vaggie being an angel btw. not sure how to feel about that #i like how they handled it because it leans into the whole 'redemption' theming but like. feels very 'we need a conflict!'#which like i do appreciate because vaggie and charlie's relationship is too smooth sailing. throw some rocks in there #also 'i named you after the best thing: vaginas' is. hilarious actually. was that planned? or was that retconned in?#sir pentious as a character wasn't really. there enough in the latter half of the season for me to really feel anything about his death #like i liked him! very pathetic man. love his character design. but i think they should have alternated episodes #instead of just making the first few all about him #also his death was too sudden for me to feel particularly bad about. was convinced it was a fake out death #LOVE the ship callback tho. love me some chekhov's gun #btw i knew. literally nothing about hazbin hotel going into this. was watching the pilot like 'wait is this a musical'#bitsy. thingy. whatever her name is. fucking love her. the chapter songs in Alan Wake 2,, flawless

#they deserve more love and discussion #saying this while also not knowing what to say other than they’re so fucking good #alan wake 2 #i think it’s partially because poets of the fall’s tracks are iconic so of course they’re in the spotlight (as deserved)#but also the CHAPTER SONGS. them being made for a given chatacter(s) with the help of Sam lakes poetry #the changes with ‘this road’ by Poe with every Alan chapter. becoming more distorted and revealing lyrics and the spiral #the scratch song being 1) hilarious and 2) similar to Zane’s poetry in the aw1 arg #the emotion in superhero when saga feels lost at the story making it so Logan was gone #the lines of her feeling like a ghost in this story forming around her.. how she feels guilty and absent for both what the story’s doing #and being away from Logan because of her job. ashdhhhhjhh my heart #AND. follow you into the dark HAS to be alice. which kills me because at for at I thought of Alan #but no. Alice jumped in the dark place after him. it’s so !!!!!!!!!!!#the rabbit hole line. Alice spiraling deeper and deeper into a dream—into wonderland #the Lost at Sea one is also good. intrigues me. the Bowie and Lynch references are blatantly aw2 Zane #but it’s so similar to diver Zane and the ‘originals’ death. being lost in the dark place with illusions of escape #and losing any sense of identity. whether he’s real at all or the monster of this sea or just a lost soul.#the soft and calm vocals / instrumental really makes the whole thing #NEED to stop typing more tags because this is a Lot. however.#‘no one left to love’ is also a phenomenal song and one of my favorites from the album. GORGEOUS vocals and how it all flows together.#such a powerful and beautiful way to end a chapter #anyway that’s all I had to say :)#god. I’ve started to watch a few playthroughs of the game and 90% of people have skipped the chapter songs and every time im #that’s fair but my brain and soul might implode if I don’t see anyone else talking about how good these songs are

Oh shoot really? That's great! I've got my fair share of battles in it, i think prestige around the 40's and league... veteran II i believe? I kinda stopped playing since i got stuck up on recent campaigns i've been doing, mostly having exclusively* (except certain town events that aren't character introduction specific) people as my characters in the roster (last screenshot was, in fact, from that very same campaign), to be fair though, even if the balance sometimes feels... off, personally, it always tickles the sweet spots of what makes this game so good, if you so happen to play it too, who knows, we might just see each other [:

writing fics is so funny because you'll go into something like "should be easy & quick" & then a month later you're in the middle of a deep dive into mustelids & learning that wolverines are criminally understudied

#did you know that badgers eyesight sucks ass & their hearing's not great but their sense of smell is amazing & they can bite through bone #also apparently badgers just hang out with other species all the time. they just do that #also their noises have been well recorded to the point where i've found a dictionary on them #also they live basically how warrior cats live which is kind of hilarious #you could probably replace the cats in warriors with badgers & it'd be more realistic #not by much since it's you know. warrior cats. but still #also for context this is a Danny Phantom fic. Danny's a shapeshifter. he can turn into a badger #he just bit the shit out of Vlad's hand. hence why i'm doing some more quick research on badgers particularly their bite #also to be fair to Danny Vlad deserved it. he always deserves it #the wolverines thing is for an original series i'm working on #the only person who knows anything about wolverines is some guy in alaska that raises them #squirrels outside my window going inside the bbq #okay it left. anyways mustelids are weird. idk what's up with them

So. Quackity just announced there’s gonna be a presidential election on the QSMP. In past experiences, SMP elections have Never Ended (or at least continued) Well.

THE WAR FLASHBACKS, THE TRAUMA. (The tearing of bonds that were once strong, now tenuous all thanks to the ambitious grasp for power...) ((shut up let me have my dramatic overreaction moment))

At least it all starts the day AFTER the guapoduo wedding, so we have something nice before THAT chaos… I reckon it’ll be fun, the stakes are interesting and the rules are well thought-out. I’m just mildly stressed because of the Implications and possible divides when the server banding together is their greatest defense against the mysterious whims of the Federation (exactly what this is, a masterful power play and social experiment by them). My mind is REELING. There is also no way that the new president wouldn't mostly just be a puppet of the Federation - they get a few bonuses but everything's still overall controlled by the Census Bureau (who have to approve pretty much any changes the president wants to make; they lose pretty much nothing with this election, gain another in amongst the players, and have an opportunity to sow distrust/division between the islanders in the process), and centralizing power is an excellent way to get a scapegoat for their own plans/distraction from current issues the islanders are facing, like the code entity and escaping the island.

#qsmp #at least there is little chance for Quackity to win #he ain't winning the popularity votes #let alone the in-game leaderboard points #also find it hilarious that so many people are immediately hoping Wilbur gets assassinated #which is fair #putting him in power would immediately go to his head with Very Bad Decisions #personally think thus far that BBH Jaiden or Forever would be the best bets #they care deeply for the people and eggs #and have a good head on their shoulders #and are fairly well-liked #but we'll see how everything plays out #first must prioritize the guapoduo wedding going smoothly on Friday

This may be a comic fan red flag to some but I have to say I genuinely do love Chuck Dixon's Ollie. Like yeah whenever I start thinking about it too hard I get pissed off about it and the way it goes against previous characterizations and important character beats presented in the same book etc etc but like by god is it funny. Like I'm sorry Ollie diehards I love him too but him calling Connor a bastard is probably a top 10 moment for me personally. I really do love it sm. Absolutely amazing, no notes, hypocrisy at its finest. V much like gee I wonder Ollie. Who's fault could that possibly be.

oh right i forgot the real reason i stopped listening to broadway clips was that i've got this whole enormous miserable knot in my chest abt having been too socially anxious to do anything with my once-upon-a-time-very-gorgeous voice once i got spat out of the safe little nest of my high school, and like, most of the time i forget that knot even exists, but when i listen to the sort of music i used to be part of making (proper opera but also showtunes) it's like. this whole fast-forward feelings journey thru 'oh right that didn't actually go away, it's still right there in my throat, just calcified' to 'oh okay we tugged the loose end and it's unraveling and actually it was keeping contained a whole rush of tears like aeolus' bag of winds in the odyssey…'
